How to get to Koh Phangan (Thailand): all methods and prices. By own car. By public bus

Every year, hundreds of thousands of tourists seek to be on the island of Koh Phangan. They are especially attracted by the famous. However, getting to the island is quite difficult, because there is no airport on Koh Phangan. Therefore, many travelers fly through Surat Thani (the nearest city on the mainland from Koh Phangan). Next, you should get from it ground transport. And how to do it better, I tell in this article.

Surat Thani Airport - Koh Phangan

First, let's talk about how to get from Surat Thani Airport to Koh Phangan. In addition to buying a plane ticket to Surat Thani, it is preferable to immediately purchase a bus ticket to the pier and a ferry to Koh Phangan. It is convenient to buy it via the Internet on the site. The price of such a combined ticket is from 480 baht. When buying, be careful that the departure station is Surat Thani Airport.

Also look on this site if it is possible to buy a combined ticket from the city where the flight to Koh Phangan is carried out at once. It might work out cheaper that way. For example, from Bangkok to Koh Phangan, you can purchase a combined ticket (airplane-bus-ferry) for 1457 baht.

If you have already arrived at Surat Thani Airport, but did not buy tickets to Koh Phangan in advance, then in this situation you should purchase them on the 1st floor of the airport at the exit. Buses to the pier leave from the stop, which is located near the exit from the airport.

The journey to Donsak Pier takes approximately 1.5 hours. Next, you have to transfer to the ferry, the travel time by sea to Koh Phangan is 2.5 hours. If you buy a combined ticket, then during the transfers you will be guided throughout the journey.

Sometimes it happens that you arrive at Surat Thani Airport in the evening, when the ferries to Koh Phangan no longer depart. Last flight to the island is carried out at 18:00. Then you can spend the night in one of the hotels located within walking distance from the airport. The best of them in terms of price-quality ratio are Surattani Airport Hostel and Amaretto Hostel & Amaretto De coffee Home. And in the morning you can continue on your way.

Surat Thani Center - Koh Phangan

Now consider another situation, that you are in the city of Surat Thani and want to go to Koh Phangan. Then you should go to the bus station of the city, from which flights depart to the pier. These bus stations include Seatran Coach bus terminal. Where it is, I indicated on the map.

It is better to buy tickets at least a couple of days before departure, because there is a risk that there will be no empty seats. You can buy them at the station or on the website. Prices for combined tickets (bus and ferry) start at 330 baht. It is possible to order a ticket with a transfer from the hotel. Drive from Surat Thani to Donsak Pier for about 70 km.

Ferries on Koh Phangan arrive at Tong Sala Pier, from where you can take a taxi or tuk-tuk to the hotel. If you wish, you can rent a hotel in the Thong Sala area, their choice here is quite wide. I always advise you to book a hotel on the Hotellook website, because on it you can see hotel prices in different booking systems. And this allows you to save a lot on accommodation.

Koh Phangan is an island without an airport. The only way to get there is by sea. Sea transportation to Phangan is carried out by different companies, but only from four places in Thailand, three of which are located on the mainland (the cities of Chumphon, Suratthani and Donsak), and one more place is the neighboring island of Koh Samui (there is an airport there). I have already told in detail about how to go to Koh Samui (and this is in the same place where Phangan is), including the version where you are an absolutely independent and fearless unit. This is when you yourself buy tickets for each section of the route. But in fact, it is difficult even for experienced people to guess in such a way that all three shoulders dock in time. Today I am focusing on a lighter version of the trip - joint ticket only.

Koh Phangan is located eight kilometers north of the island Koh Samui does not have its own airport. Rather, there are the beginnings of an airport in the form of a clay square, somewhere deep in the mountainous region of the island. The square has been empty for several years, bulldozers are rusting there, but from time to time a joyful announcement appears in Thai resources about the imminent completion of the construction of the Phangan airport, which no one believes. In short, there are no direct flights from Bangkok to Koh Phangan. However, flights with transfers too. The maximum that you can do is to get as close to Koh Phangan by plane as possible and there are already options.

Plane from Bangkok Airways+ferry

The fastest, most convenient and most expensive option is direct Flight Bangkok-Samui by Bangkok Airways. For 3,500 baht and an hour of time, you will find yourself a kilometer from three passenger piers of Koh Samui, from where boats run to Koh Phangan (this is described below). Unfortunately, you won’t be able to buy a joint ticket from Bangkok Airways to Koh Phangan, there is no such service.

Take care of booking tickets for such a plane in advance, because you definitely won’t smile at buying a ticket on the day of your arrival, and it’s better to book through Aviasales.ru and, we use them ourselves, very convenient services. Although it is possible on the airline's website.

IN Koh Samui airport you will need to catch a taxi to Bang Rak Pier (about 350 baht) or take a minivan (150 baht) - both modes of transport are on duty right at the exit from the arrivals area, where there are always greeters. Well, or go on foot outside the airport and catch a motorcycle taxi driver for 50 baht, provided that you have one backpack from your luggage.

Aircraft of low-cost airlines + bus + ferry

A more budgetary and long-term option is to use AirAsia or NokAir flights, which fly from Surat Thani or Nakhon Si Thammarat. Dong Muang is domestic airport, where low-cost airlines are based and it is also located in Bangkok. Immediately put in your schedule an hour to travel from to Dong Muang.

From Surat Thani or Nakhon Si Thammarat you have to drive an hour and a half by bus to the piers near the town of Donsak. Then transfer to the ferry and another two and a half hours of crossing to Koh Phangan. And if you flew from Nok Air, then they won’t take you for a long time - they transport passengers by Lompraya ferries from the Tapi Pir pier to Surat Thani. It used to be in Donsak, closer to the island, but in 2017 they moved to the Tapi River in Surat Thani. Sea time is now 1 hour 55 minutes.

The advantage is that when buying a plane ticket, you can immediately indicate end point arrival and you are immediately calculated the price of the joint ticket, and this greatly facilitates the trip. Roughly speaking, for 1200 - 1800 baht you will be taken by the hand from the plane to Koh Phangan. I flew like that, specially tested, but .

Train+ferry

How to buy a train ticket online

Unfortunately, only the ferry company Songserm Express has a joint ticket with the train+ferry option from Bangkok to Koh Phangan. Beloved by all, Lompraya does not do such things. But there is a solution - which shows you both the official joint and just convenient combinations of tickets. There will be more options. True, the price of such options is slightly higher, but the transfer from the place of arrival by one means of transport to the place of departure by another is included in the ticket price.

Sorry, Thai Railways does not support the system electronic tickets and that is why they sell them only at their box office, and not through the railway website. Therefore, 12go go to the railway ticket office and buy a ticket for you, but you still have to pick it up personally at one of the points of issue or receive it by mail.

Train to Chumphon and transfer to the ferry

Trains run from Bangkok to southern Thailand on a single line. The city of Chumphon is about 350 km, and the city of Surat Thani (almost near Koh Samui and Koh Phangan) is about 730 km. Relatively speaking, Chumphon is half way to the intended goal. From there, you can go further by train or take a ferry.

If for some reason you decide to buy train tickets yourself offline, then read my article in the section about trains. The main thing is to check that the time of arrival of the train and departure of the ferry allows you to easily get from the railway station to the pier. By the way, for clarity, all piers are displayed on the map at the end of the article.

Lompraya Pier is located 30 km from the station, the journey time without traffic jams is about 45 minutes. The company's office is located right next to the station building, on platform 1. Catamarans depart twice a day: at 07:30 in the morning and at 13:00. Travel time from Chumphon to Koh Phangan is 3 hours 45 minutes, ticket price is 1000 baht per person. Lands on Koh Phangan at Thongsala Pier

Pier Mataphone Pier company Songserm (Songserm Express) is closer - 18 km from the railway station, but the road passes through locality, so it still takes about 35 minutes. Songserm boats leave daily at 07:00. Ticket price - 800 baht per person, travel time 4 hours 40 minutes. Lands on Koh Phangan at Thongsala Pier.

If you booked a combined ticket through the link above, then under the terms of the sale of that site, you must collect the train tickets, bus + ferry voucher in person and take the train yourself at Hua Lamphong Station. Upon arrival at Chumphon you will be met by representatives of the ferry company. The price for train + bus + ferry tickets is about 1500 - 2200 baht per person.

By train to Surat Thani, bus/taxi to Donsak pier, ferry

Here the picture is more interesting. Lomprayya does not have official combined tickets, but you can book a ticket through the guys from, pick up your train ticket and bus + ferry voucher from them, then sleep 13 hours from Bangkok to Suratthani and, upon arrival in Surat, look with your eyes at the exit from the station, where a transfer with a sign meets you there. The price for train + bus + ferry tickets is about 1500 - 2200 baht per person.

But the Songserm company offers train + bus + ferry joint tickets. When buying online, a couple of dozen options are offered, which differ in the class of the car and the location of the shelf. TRAIN TICKETS SHOULD ALSO BE COLLECTED AT THE OFFICE. The price is from 1280 to 1980 baht per person. Departure of trains from Hua Lamphong Station in Bangkok: 17:05, 18:30, 19:30 - in short, all night trains that travel 12-13 hours. On Phangan you will be at 12:15, regardless of the train departure.

Interestingly, Songserm in all their online bookings takes people by bus from the railway station to the piers in Donsak, although they have a pier right in Surat Thani, which is much closer. And yet - if you did get to Suratthani by train on your own, then look to the left, leaving the station building - there will be ugly buses, near which standers with prices and travel options are displayed. For example, Phantip will take you to Koh Phangan for 350 baht and this price includes the ferry.

A taxi to the same pier will cost about 1,700 baht.

There are more exotic ferry options, all of which are located in Surat Thani:

  • Pierce Bandon. High-speed passenger boats SeaTran Express runs between Surat Thani and Koh Phangan from this pier. Departure once a day at 07:00 am, travel time is about 4 hours. Ticket price 550 baht per person.
  • Pierce Thatong. Passenger boats of the Songserm Express company go from here. Twice a day for Samui itinerary- Koh Phangan - Koh Tao. Departure: at 08:00 and 14:00, with a mandatory stop at Koh Samui, they arrive at Koh Phangan at 11:30 and 18:20 respectively. The price of the trip is 550 baht per person.
  • And again, Bandon Pier, in case you arrived very late in Surat Thani and definitely don’t have time for any of the ferries. From here there is a night ferry - a two-story ship of a private company, equipped with sleeping places (trestle bed like in a concentration camp), which transports only people. It departs from Surat Thani, from the quay on the Bandon Road once a day, at 23:00 and berths at the Phangan pier in Thong Sala at 6:00 in the morning. Tickets are sold there near the pier and the trip costs 400 baht per person. Travel time is 7 hours. Seven o'clock, Carl!

bus + ferry

Bus to Chumphon Pier and ferry transfer

Through Chumphon, only the Lompraya company is purposefully lucky - they have high-speed catamarans and they can afford to overcome the remaining half of the way by sea. You can book seats online no later than three days before the departure date, and 24 hours before departure, confirm the reservation in person at the office or by phone. They provide a transfer from the hotel / airport to the tourist collection point for the bus office on Rambuttri Alley. Departure from Bangkok at 6:00, arrival at Koh Phangan at 16:30. The price is 1300 baht per person.

State bus carriers take you directly to Donsak, and Songserm does not offer travel options from Bangkok to Koh Phangan via Chumphon, despite the presence of a pier and its presence in this city. Therefore, here we return our thoughts to our guys from and see what suggestions they have. In case you ended up in Chumphon on your own, see the ferry schedule above, in the paragraph about the train + ferry.

Bus to the pier in Donsak and transfer to the ferry

You need to take the car through, this is an intermediary broker. The price will be lower than directly. I usually take it to Hertz, because if you take a car from them for a period of 5 days or more, you can return it elsewhere for free (other companies charge a commission for this). By ferry crossing there are nuances - the last ferry leaves at 19:00 and even it can be canceled for various reasons. The queue for the ferry is lively and on holidays you can stand for a long time, booking a parking space is not possible for non-members of the club.

How to get from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan

And now I will describe all Samui versions, based on the fact that you have already reached Koh Samui and now you are faced with the question: how to get to Koh Phangan? You have five options:

  • Lomprayah. Catamarans leave the pier at Maenam at 8:00 and 12:30, as well as from the pier at Nathon at 11:15, 13:30, 17:00 and 19:00. Arrive at Thong Sala Pier. Travel time is about half an hour. Ticket price - 300 baht per person, only passengers are transported. Tickets can be purchased online (at least 3 days in advance). A bonus to an online purchase is a free transfer from the place of residence. Very important! You must confirm the reservation a day before the trip, either in person - at the box office, or by phone.
  • Seatran Discovery speedboats leave Bang Rak Pier at 08:00, 13:00, 16:30 and arrive at Thong Sala Pier. Ticket price - 300 baht per person. Travel time is half an hour. Tickets can be booked online on the company's website.
  • Haad Rin Queen Ferry (Sea Flower) depart Big Buddha Pier at 10:30, 13:00, 16:00, 18:30 and arrive at Haad Rin Pier. Ticket price is 200 baht. Travel time is about an hour.
  • Songserm Express leaves Nathon Pier at 11:00 and 17:30, the journey time is one and a half hours and 45 minutes, respectively. The price of the ticket is not yet clear, I am clarifying because of their repair on the site.
  • Raja Ferry. Departure time from Koh Samui: 09:00, 14:00, 18:00. The ticket price for a pedestrian is 130 baht, a scooter with a driver is 180 baht, a car with a driver is 420 baht.

As you can see, there are more than enough options. Ferries Raja Ferry and Sitran Ferry are suitable for crossing both passengers and equipment, all other boats, boats and boats are exclusively passenger. All ships arrive at two piers on Koh Phangan: Thong Sala and Haad Rin. The first is a rather impressive concrete structure in the center of the largest settlement of Koh Phangan. The second pier is smaller, simpler and located a five-minute drive from the most famous Haad Rin beach in the people, where all this midnight fun madness takes place - Full Moon Party.

On this page:

In this post, I have collected all the ways to get into Thai- Paradise Island Phangan (aka Koh Phangan) from Bangkok, from Surat Thani and from neighboring Koh Samui. Where, when, how long, how much and how best - read on ...

Koh Phangan is located in Gulf of Thailand close to Koh Samui and Koh Tao. From the mainland, you need to sail there by ferry for two to three hours, ferries depart mainly from the Donsak pier. Closest to Donsak Big City with the train station, airport and bus station - this is Suratthani (Suratthani), it is 80 km away.

To Koh Phangan from Bangkok by plane

From Thai capital The easiest way to get to the paradise island of Koh Phangan is by plane. There is no airport on Koh Phangan yet (it seems they should open in 2014-2015), so the nearest airports are Suratthani and Samui.

Cheap low-cost airlines like Air Asia fly to Surat Thani from Don Muang, and decent expensive airlines fly to Koh Samui from Suvarnabhumi. Ticket prices can vary greatly. Also, from Air Asia and Nok Air, you can immediately buy a combined plane + bus + ferry ticket. Prices for such a package, consisting of an airplane and a ferry, from Nok Air, for example, start from 1900 baht without additional fees.

Both from Koh Samui and from Surat Thani to Koh Phangan you will need to sail by ferry. Read the technology in the relevant sections.

To Koh Phangan from Bangkok by bus

State-owned (licensed) Bangkok-Surat Thani buses depart from the new Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal (Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal or Sai Tai Mai). It is naturally located at the devil's horns, you will have to get by taxi.

The journey from Bangkok to Suratthani by bus takes 10-12 hours, there are day and night flights, some offices go straight to Koh Phangan and Koh Samui and sell the corresponding joint tickets.

Such a pleasure costs 500-800 baht, depending on the class of the bus. On the road, stops for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are required, as well as condos for all the money and Thai TV shows at full volume. In general, it will not be boring.

Of course, you can not bother with the train stations and buy a ticket for the "gray" bus at the first travel agency in Khao San. In this case, however, as practice shows, no one is responsible for the class of the bus, the travel time and the safety of your belongings. Some people are lucky, and some not so much.

If you are already impatient to buy a ticket on Khaosan, then you should take a walk to the office of the same Lompayah that on Rambuttri.

They offer a combined transfer from Bangkok to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao via Chumpon. Half the way they are taken on a VIP bus with a toilet and other goodies, and in Chumpon they are transferred to a high-speed catamaran.

Everything is very decent and comfortable, the people are happy, the reviews about Lompray are exceptionally good.

Prices, however, are quite “airplane”:

To Koh Phangan from Bangkok by train

The train is the second most comfortable way to travel around Thailand after the plane. Unlike the bus, there you can sleep, eat and brush your teeth like a human being.

And Surat Thani is a major junction on the southern railway line, and all trains heading south from Bangkok stop there.

The road from Hualampong Station to Surat Thani will take about 12 hours (we don’t look at the schedule, Thai trains are always late), so it’s best to go at night.

However, above the most convenient trains in time - the 39th and 41st, there is a “DRC” mark. It stands for Diesel Rail Car and means sitting car second class. Of course he superior comfort, with kondeem and generally express, but still sitting. There are no sleeping cars on these trains.

It looks something like this:

And it's worth it, that's how much.

578 baht for a wagon with air conditioning, and 438 baht for a fan. True, tickets for this are very popular destination may not be, but buy them in advance after the death of the Thai site railways impossible.

But it seems that at the box office of Hualampong in Bangkok you can buy a ticket immediately for the train, bus to the pier and ferry. Didn't check.

To Koh Phangan from Surat Thani

The Phangan ferry pier is not located in Surat Thani itself, but in the town of Donsak, which is about an hour's drive and 80 km from Surat.

If you arrived in Surat by plane, then do not worry: almost at the gangway of the plane you will be met by the kiosks of "ferrymen", where they sell complex tickets for the bus to Donsak and the ferry to Koh Phangan for 500 baht. Immediately, everyone is rammed into a bus, promptly taken to the pier and put on ferries to anyone in any direction - to Koh Samui and to Koh Phangan. However, ferries run until about 6-7 pm, so if you arrive in Surat Thani on an evening flight, you will have to spend the night there or take a night boat, which is described below in the list of ferries.

If you arrived in Surat by train or bus, you will have to surrender to local taxi drivers so that they take you to Donsak.

To Koh Phangan from Koh Samui

A lot of ferries run between Koh Samui and Koh Phangan from different piers: from Samui's "Big Budda" boats go to Phangan's Haad Rin, and from Nathon and Mae Nam to the main Phangan port of Thong Sala. Ferries cost 200-300 baht one way.

At the Samui airport, as well as in Surat Thani, you can buy a combo ticket for a bus (taxi) + ferry.

Ferries to Koh Phangan

There is always some kind of confusion with the types of ferries to Koh Phangan, so I will sign in more detail.

This is the main Phangan ferry - a large cargo-passenger ship that runs from Donsak to Phangan and Koh Samui. It takes 2.5-3 hours to Koh Phangan, the first ferry from Donsak departs at 8 am, then at 10, 14, 16 and the last one at 6 pm. The fare is 220 baht per person. On Raja Ferry, you can bring your own transport to Koh Phangan: a car, a bike, or whatever you have there.

Passenger boat + bus, carry on the route Bangkok - Hua Hin - Chumpon - Koh Tao - Koh Phangan - Koh Samui.

Passenger boat runs along the route Phangan - Donsak (Surattani) and Phangan - Koh Tao - Chumpon.

Koh Phangan is known for its beautiful white sandy beaches and noisy. Getting to it is not so easy, as there is no airport on the island. But there are many ways to get to Koh Phangan. Can be reached by plane neighboring island Koh Samui or the province of Surat Thani, and cover the rest of the distance by ferry, or take a bus or car to Surat Thani, and then transfer to the ferry. We will discuss each of these methods in detail in this article so that you can choose the best option.

There is no airport on Koh Phangan. But if you want to get to the island as quickly as possible, then the most The best way take a flight to Koh Samui. However, the cost of such a flight is quite high, since budget low-cost companies do not fly to Koh Samui. One way ticket price is about 3000 baht.

The plane takes off from the international. Tourists fly here from Russia to Thailand. Therefore, if you plan to immediately go to Koh Phangan, you can buy an air ticket and fly to Koh Samui, and from there to Koh Phangan.

You won't have to wait long at the airport desired aircraft because crashes happen quite often. For the flight, you can choose one of the companies:

  • Thai Airways.
  • Bangkok Airways.

It is better to book a ticket to Koh Samui in advance so that you definitely have enough space. I recommend using the Aviasales website, it contains offers from all airlines and travel agencies. And choose a ticket for yourself favorable price, my low price calendar will help you.

Between Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports free bus. But the trip can be delayed due to traffic jams. Instead of the promised 40 minutes, you can spend 2 hours on the road. In this case, there is a risk of being late for desired flight. Therefore, try to allocate as much time as possible for the road.

From Surat Thani Airport, you can get to the pier by taxi or use the offer of a travel agency and purchase a transfer to Donsak Pier. There is a counter at the airport where you can order a transfer. From the pier to Koh Phangan, the road takes about 2 hours. On Koh Phangan, ferries sail to Thong Sala Pier.

By train

If there is no desire to overpay for an air ticket, but the soul wants comfort, that is, more cheap option- a train ride. In this case, it is better not to skimp and take a ticket to the first class. Each compartment has comfortable shelves where you can lie down. In the second class, you won’t be able to lie down - there are only sitting places.

You can buy a combined ticket to Koh Phangan at a travel agency or on the website. The price of such a ticket is 1500-2000 baht.

The train station does not sell combined tickets to Koh Phangan, only to Surat Thani.

If you want to save money, then buy a combined ticket. You will immediately have three tickets in your hands - a train ticket, a ferry ticket and a transfer from the Surat Thani railway station to the pier.

The train has compartments with air conditioning or a fan. If you are afraid of catching a cold, then it is better to buy a ticket for seats that are not air-conditioned or take warm clothes with you, as it is quite cold in air-conditioned cars. Thais like to turn on air conditioners at full capacity.

The train departs from railway station Hua Lamphong in Bangkok. Try not to be late, as you will not be able to return the money for the ticket. In Thailand, you can return a ticket only one hour before departure.

The train arrives at the railway station in Surat Thani. From there you can get to the pier by bus or taxi.

By bus

The bus ride is one of the cheapest options. Here are two options:

  1. tourist bus;
  2. state bus.

Tourist transport is a lottery. The level of service and comfort is very different. There have even been cases of luggage being stolen from the bus. In this case, it is impossible to guess which flight you will be sold a ticket for. If you rented a room on, and the spirit of adventurism is strong in your heart, then you can take a chance and take a tourist flight. Perhaps the quality of the trip will please you.

If you do not want to take risks, then it is better to overpay for a ticket and go to the pier on public bus. Better take a ticket in the first class or VIP. You can buy a combined ticket to Koh Phangan at the bus station or website. The average ticket price is 1300 baht.

On the way you will get lunch and water. The seats on the bus are laid out in an almost recumbent position, which is very convenient, since the trip takes place at night. However, the air conditioning is often very strong on the buses, so bring warm clothes with you.

Buses leave from southern bus station(Sai Tai Mai). The terminal is located in the south of the city and is a four-story building. If there is a lot of time before departure, then you can spend it comfortably for yourself. Here you will find shops, banks, cafes, slot machines. In addition, the building has a large parking lot and a left-luggage office. Cash desks occupy almost the entire third floor.

If you buy a ticket only to Surat Thani, then you will have to get to the pier by taxi or transfer on your own, and then take a ticket for the desired ferry. Therefore, I recommend that you immediately get a combined ticket that will allow you to get to Koh Phangan without too much headache. After all, with such a ticket, buses bring tourists immediately to the Donsak or Chumpon pier.

By own car

If you have enough driving experience, you can rent a car and go to Koh Phangan. It's pretty convenient way, because at any moment you can stop, explore Beautiful places choose the best path and time for you.

You can rent a car at Bangkok airport or on the website. I recommend pre-booking a car online, as on the right day suitable option may not be. Also on the site you can compare prices and choose a car at the best price. At the car rental company, you can also take a navigator that will help you stay on track.

Of course, an iron friend will not be able to bring you to Koh Phangan, but you will reach the pier calmly. Therefore, do not forget that the ferries run on schedule. You need to get to Donsak Pier. From there, a ferry leaves for Koh Phangan.

At the pier you can buy the necessary ticket, its cost is about 200 baht. You don't have to worry about the car. He will travel with you, the cost of the crossing is 350 baht. Ferries allow you to transport not only cars, but also motorcycles, and even large trucks.

Ferries run to Koh Phangan from 6:00 to 19:00. The journey will take approximately 2 hours.

Whichever way you choose to travel, the main thing is the mood with which you set off. And to make the road easier, you need to take care of tickets in advance and required documents. Then on the way to the island you will not have troubles and unexpected surprises.

Phangan is an island located in the Gulf of Thailand and there are many ways to get to it from Bangkok. The fastest, most comfortable, but at the same time the most expensive option is an airplane flight. There is no airport directly on Phangan, the nearest airport is located on Koh Samui and fly there from Bangkok Thai airlines Airways and Bangkok Airways. The cost of tickets for these carriers is approximately the same, but the prices bite and not every tourist can afford it. Planes take off from Suvarnabhumi airport where all flights from Russia arrive. There are many flights, so it will not be difficult for you to choose the most convenient connection. Upon arrival in Koh Samui, you will need to take a taxi or bus to the pier from which ferries depart for Koh Phangan. A flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui will cost you about 2-3 thousand baht, plus from 500-600 baht you will have to pay for a taxi ride to the pier. The trip from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan will take about 30 minutes and the price will not be high.

by the most accessible way to get to the island is the bus. Moreover, you do not need to buy tickets at the box office of bus stations, such services are provided by many travel companies. How much will comfortable trip hard to say, it's up to you. The ticket includes the cost of bus and ferry travel, but in time such a trip will stretch for about 12 hours. First, about ten hours will have to go to the pier in Donsak, and then another two hours by ferry to Koh Phangan. On average, the cost of such combined tickets is 600-700 baht.

If you want to be sure that the bus ride will be as comfortable as possible, then it makes sense to pay attention to public buses. In this case, passengers are also offered combined bus + ferry tickets, but the passenger can choose how comfortable his trip will be. Government buses come in several classes: VIP, first class and second class. Not only comfort depends on this, but also the price. The price is slightly more expensive than tourist buses, but the level of service is an order of magnitude higher, especially in the first two classes, which are equipped with soft, folding seats, and passengers are given water and some kind of snack. The downside is that buses depart from the southern bus station, and it is not very convenient to get to it. Ticket prices from 800 to 1200 baht.

After the plane, in terms of comfort, the train can be put in second place. Compared to others Asian countries Thai trains are very comfortable, fairly clean and fast. As well as in the case of buses, there is a division into classes, in the first and second class there are air conditioners. In sleeping cars there is enough free and bed so you can buy a ticket for night Train and sleep well during the trip. The only drawback of local trains is that they are often late.

Trains depart from Hua Lamphong Railway Station and arrive at the station in Surat Thani. If you buy a ticket in travel agency, then the price will include a train ticket, a bus ticket to the pier and a ferry directly to the island. At the box office of the station, you will be sold a ticket only from one point to another. Travel by train ranges from 700 to 1300 baht.
