And again, a literary source of domestic production. This time Maxim Gorky. Or rather, his “Song of the Falcon”. Let's go through the original source for a short time, talk about the merging of the name and the line from it, as well as the meaning and application of the popular expression "We sing a song to the madness of the brave." Go…

Source

Gorky's early work is aphoristic, the same "Song of the Falcon" is replete with various symbols and metaphors, the subtext of which is by no means difficult to discern through the prism of the past century. The inspiration of the author's prose and poetry (and this work is a representative of the borderline genre - a poem in prose) of the late 19th century is caused by the passionate desire for change that future Bolshevik leaders burned in those days.

"Song of the Falcon", an analysis of the main symbols of which quickly makes the main thing clear. The reader is encouraged to take an active stance in life, to start fighting for their happiness, to drive the narrow-minded people in the neck and, in general, to search for the meaning of the frailty of their own existence, quickly discover it and strike iron without leaving the cash register. In fact, the poem is really beautiful and quite unambiguous.

Finally, do not forget that the line from the poem sounds like “We sing glory to the madness of the brave”, however, the popular expression walks through the open spaces in the version with the word “song” at the end. Well, the line inadvertently stuck together with the title of the work, with phraseological units, and this does not happen.

Meaning

"Madness of the Brave" in itself is winged already by virtue of the three- or even four-level subtext being embedded. Real madness and dissent that move progress can come across here. If we get lucky.

However, the general meaning is clear. Someone has done something on the verge of rationality, or even beyond it, but the result raises certain doubts among others, as is often the case in a conformal society, and this act is howled a song. It can be both figurative and direct. Good expression. Both poetry and prose in one bottle, suitable for everyday life, and in a high syllable will not spoil the note.

We sing glory to the madness of the brave! Part 1.

Alexey Borisovich Mozgovoy, brigade commander of the mechanized brigade and the Ghost battalion. He was killed on May 23, 2015.

We sing glory to the madness of the brave!
The folly of the brave is the wisdom of life! O brave Falcon! You bled to death in battle with enemies... But there will be time - and drops of your hot blood, like sparks, will flare up in the darkness of life and will kindle many brave hearts with an insane thirst for freedom, light!
Let you die! .. But in the song of the brave and strong in spirit, you will always be a living example, a proud call to freedom, to light!
To the madness of the brave we sing a song!..

Dozens of bullets hit the car in which Aleksey Mozgovoy, his press secretary Anna, the head of security with the call sign Song and two guards were driving. It was virtually impossible to survive inside the car. Mozgovoy died of gunshot wounds on the spot.

A militiaman from the Ghost brigade with the call sign Dobry told the details of the death of his commander Alexei Mozgovoy.

Yes, first a mine exploded, then fired from four points. Mozgovoy had no chance of surviving this assassination, - said the Dobry fighter, - at least four fighters were in ambush.

It's good to die in May

It is convenient for the gravedigger to dig.

And the nightingales will sing

IN last time, so unbelievable.

Under the roar of the first May thunderstorms,

Instead of dull funerals...

And the rain will fall instead of tears

He will wash away the sadness of memories.

The grave mound shelters

Under a cover of green herbs.

Even if the cross is not there,

Among the weary birches.

Under the rustle of young leaves,

That only reached out to life.

While there are no gray grasses yet,

And only, only everything woke up.

It's good to die in May...

Stay fresh in spring.

And though I couldn't do it all,

But there is no doubt...

Not bad to die in May...

05/24/15. A note about the hero Alexei Brain from the military observer Boris Rozhin.

“I’ll write about the versions of the murder separately, but for now, about my personal attitude towards Alexei Mozgovoy.
1. I found out that such a person even exists in April 2014, when he began to appear on TV screens as one of the leaders of the uprising in Luhansk. Quite quickly, two centers of power formed there - the Bolotov group and the Mozgovoy group, which had systemic disagreements. Around April, having completed the humanitarian program for Sevastopol and received thank you letter from Chaly, we began to reorient ourselves to the Donbass. It quickly became clear that we had to choose with whom to work - with Bolotov or Mozgov. Then we chose Mozgovoy and I think we were not mistaken. We managed to establish contact and start work, which, however, was not very long, since Mozgovoy soon left Lugansk and went west, after which we already worked in Lugansk with "Batman", "Leshim" and a number of other commanders.

2. In the summer, our cooperation resumed, we transported humanitarian cargo to cities subordinate to Mozgovoy, he even visited our warehouse, though I didn’t cross paths with him for a long time. I met him for the first time in Yalta at a well-known conference, where I just managed to say hello to a man who managed to become a legend in short months. I got to know him better already in September 2014 - on the same day with Strelkov, when the projects of humanitarian movements in the Donbass (which later turned into the Novorossiya movement) were being discussed, I unexpectedly got the opportunity to talk with the Ghost commander. What I remember about Mozgovoy is that he is not a poseur - what he was in his performances, he is like that in life. After all, there is always a possibility that the next "people's leader" is cunning, wears the mask of a "truth-seeker", and he himself craves fame and fortune. And I, as a well-known skeptic, expected a certain discrepancy in the media image and the person in real life. Mozgovoi was not like that, he was an ideological person who preferred to defend his ideals, although he could fit into the "system" he so disliked and be like everyone else, forgetting justice and other lofty goals. In this regard, he proved with his life and death that he was not cunning and was ready to die for what he said.
Even then I remembered his phrase that “I went to war without a trace, I can’t take care of my family until there is a war, my family brigade. "He really to a large extent sacrificed a part of his personal good for the sake of the common cause, although he could have been fairly enriched" in that not-famous war, at least in the same coal trade. He had a slightly different path that he went to end.

3. Mozgovoy lived very modestly, local criminals drove with pissed rags, in which Plotnitsky and Kozitsyn were not noticed in coal scandals. He constantly tried to organize some kind of popular action - not being able to spread his ideas throughout the republic, he tried to do it where he could, in order to at least change something in the world around him.
That is why he developed the image of the local "Che Guevara", who spoke for the people and tried to be closer to the people in words and deeds, therefore he did not fit well into the changing political landscape of the LPR, for which he was periodically persecuted, since with Fidels it was tense in the LNR.

4. His struggle with the oligarchy, which he raised to his banner, attracted to him not only a mass of volunteers of leftist and communist convictions, but also brought him a mass of sympathy from people for whom the word justice is not an empty phrase. Therefore, in addition to local volunteers, there were always many internationalists from Russia and other countries in his brigade. far abroad, while, surprisingly, at the same time, there were detachments of nationalists under his command. All these people were attracted by the image of Mozgovoy, who was FOR TRUTH, which everyone understood in their own way, but which united them for the sake of a common cause. And after all, it was not just a slogan, Mozgovoy put himself in such a way that the people who went to him really saw him as a beacon that illuminated the vague future of Novorossia, and the reaction to his death clearly shows how tragic death The brigade commander, who had lost a significant part of his military and political capabilities, saddened a lot of people of different views and beliefs, as if a person close to them had died.

5. Of course, such an inconvenient person, spread rot in every possible way - he was poured with slop by various Ukrainian emigrants, he was constantly ridiculed by the media of the junta, he was blocked from supplying BC and humanitarian aid, he was forbidden to hold parades and international forums, they tried to make him a scapegoat for the miscalculations of the command in the Debaltseve operation . As a result, he began to look like a kind of white crow, since his views had already diverged quite a lot from the new reality. He could follow the path of Dremov, accept the flag from Plotnitsky and completely submit, but he could not betray his ideals. Some consider it quixotic, others stubbornness, others stupidity. In my opinion, these are the people who are charged with an idea that seizes the masses and moves history. It was Mozgovoy who was among those leaders of the revolution who, with their impulse, lit the fire of Novorossia, which tore the Donbass from Ukraine and did not let this fire go out until the very last breath. Without such people there would be nothing - all these people's republics and Novorossia until recently were only informational phantoms. These people, with their life and death, filled these ideas with real content, which is not so easy to close as Tsarev's office. Because in those days, people followed the leaders who carried the fire of a new idea, which became a real alternative to the hateful "Ukrainianism"

6. Of course, he made mistakes when he could not push through the idea of uniting the commanders of Novorossiya or when he began to maneuver in the case of the murder of Bednov, when his traditional directness was just required. People aren't perfect, and Mozgovoy isn't perfect either. But do his mistakes and delusions outweigh what he did and what he fought for, igniting the hearts of people with the hope that change is possible, that a just society is not a figure of speech, not a propaganda cliché? After all, this faith, which Mozgovoy personified, changed the lives of many people who abandoned their ordinary lives and came to fight in the distant Donbass for the ideas that he preached. It changed my life to a large extent, because for me the initially abstract idea of Novorossiya became an important life goal that I want to achieve.

And this man, like a comet, flew in front of us and burned up in the dense layers of the atmosphere. But in this short and swift journey, he did enough to secure his place in history. In addition to the purely historical role of one of the leaders of the Novorossiysk revolution, Mozgovoy for many years will remain one of the symbols of the struggle for a fair structure of society and the people's welfare. They will say, so what - they killed him, he himself could not realize his goals. But in my opinion, he sincerely tried to do it and laid down his life for it. In this short but eventful life, there is more meaning than in the lives of those who aimlessly live it in a consumer frenzy lying on sofas and watching another distant or already close war on TV. His life, and especially his death, will certainly contribute to his further glorification and mythologization. After all, even if the late Alexander Bednov, despite certain issues, public opinion ranked among the most iconic heroes of Novorossia, then Mozgovoy is simply doomed to be immortalized posthumously in the form of a symbol and myth. In recent history, the closest analogue of Mozgovoy is Thomas Sankara, whose aphorism is in the title of the article. They had similar aspirations and a similar destiny. When they killed Sankara, they expected that he, like many African fighters for justice, would disappear from the horizon of history, like an absurd ripple that shook the world of exploitation and profit. But time has shown that such people go into immortality, becoming moral guidelines for future generations that embody a person’s craving for justice, leading to the fact that more and more fighters for justice will replace those who fell in the struggle for justice. her.

Rest in peace Alexei Borisovich, I knew you little as a person, but until the end of my life I will be proud that I knew you.
To everyone who was dear to Alexey Mozgovoy, my sincere condolences."

P.S. from "sofa fighter":

Well ........ something happened that should have happened .........., the only thing that is surprising is why now, and not earlier .......... why Mozgovoy was given live until the end of May 2015, because he became "uncomfortable" quite a long time ago........... and because the "Novorossiya project" has been fucked up for some time now, he (Mozgovoy) was not only "inconvenient" but also already "unnecessary" ............. Alexey Borisovich was needed earlier ....... .... when it was necessary to "rake in the heat with the wrong hands", when leaders were needed who could lead people, leaders who could convince by their example that a person has the right to fight for his beliefs, that a person can "put on card "the most expensive thing him, a person this, there is - your life ..................... Well, with the "unnecessary", in essence, everything is clear ......... and here's why "uncomfortable" - from my point of view: because Alexei Borisovich was like a "thorn in the eye" (with his decency) on all four sides (whoever has a mind, let him hear which four sides I said about) of the "olegarchy wars" who unleashed "this massacre" and cut the loot in the war and someone else's grief ........... What can I say .......... the murder of Mozgovoy is a landmark event .......... another landmark point for Novorossia, Ukraine and Russia ........ the second landmark ......... the first was the murder of O. Buzina ........... (in my opinion) what the murder of the "brigade commander" will bring with it and Novorossia and Ukraine and Russia - nothing good, one can say more precisely - now it will only get worse...........

What is this event for me personally? .......... I didn’t know Mozgovoy personally, I didn’t even know “through acquaintances”, but I very carefully followed his “road” there, for his interviews and appeals .......... ... The death of this man, even a long-awaited one, because it could not be otherwise, for me personally, this is the end of faith in the justice of power (any and everywhere), the end of faith that a person is decent, putting the interests of his people above his own , "able" to simply exist in our world............. At least "exist" for a long time ..............
From my point of view, the "Project Novorossiya" ended not half a year ago, not a month ago, and not a week ago ........ this project ended: on May 23, 2015, it ended when - brigade commander Aleksey Borisovich Mozgovoy stopped breathing. .................... Now, even if "these territories" remain separate from Ukraine, they can be called ......... well, let's say: " Novoolegarkhiya" or Novomalologarkhiya" but not like "Novorosiya" ...............
Yes ......... and by the way ........ On May 23, 2015, not only the project died
"Novorossia", on this day the "Russian World" project died .......... you can tell me that I'm wrong, that these are defeatist moods ................ but I know for sure that it is.

Exactly 40 species of falcons are combined into one common scientific name -
(lat) Falco - from the word "falx" - which means "sickle", and is associated with the crescent shape of the wings in flight.

Of course, I won’t be able to tell about all the species here and show them, but the closest ones to us in terms of the European climate and our possible satellites will be shown here :)
Most of texts and wikipedia.
According to the degree of ingenuity that they show in obtaining a variety of food, falcons are among the most intelligent birds in the world.
According to archaeologists, falcons are a fairly young bird species, their age is less than 10 million years.
These unusually beautiful birds are divided into 4 main types: kestrels, hobby falcons, falcons themselves and a group that includes gyrfalcon, saker falcon, Mediterranean falcon (lanner, lat. Falco biarmicus) and Laggar (lat. Falco jugger) Let's look at the ones closest to us falcons!

Peregrine falcon - Falco peregrinus
The wingspan is 80-120 cm, the weight of the female is up to 1.5 kg, the males are slightly lighter.
peregrine falcon is considered the most fast bird in the world, in attack it is capable of reaching speeds of over 322 km / h, or 90 m / s.

Peregrine falcons are monogamous, pairs remain for many years or until the end of their lives, while attachment to a certain nesting territory is noted, which is preserved in several generations of birds for a long time, for example, on small island off the coast of Wales, researchers have recorded a rocky ledge on which birds have been nesting constantly since at least 1243!
During the mating season, the male flies to the place of the future nest and calls the female, dances in the sky, feeds her on the fly...

Now let's see what the peregrine falcon is doing in the air and why it seems "madness of the brave"!

Usually the female lays an average of 3 eggs. After 33 - 35 days, chicks appear, which fledge at the age of 35-45 days.
According to scientists, the life of a falcon in nature is 15-17 years. However, a case is known: in 1732, a falcon was caught, on the collar of which was the following inscription: "His Majesty King James of England, 1610." The life expectancy of the royal falcon was 122 years.

The peregrine falcon is listed in the Red Book because its population is dangerously low.

The peregrine falcon has distinguishing feature- a special pattern near the eyes, reminiscent of black eyeliner. According to this picture, one can recognize the peregrine falcon in the ancient Egyptian falcon god Ra.

The peregrine falcon not only surpassed everyone in speed, but is also considered the owner of the sharpest eyesight in the world of birds. The lens of a bird of prey is surrounded by a special ring of bone plate, which allows you to quickly focus your vision on objects located at a great distance. Special eye muscles squeeze the ring and, accordingly, change the curvature of the lens. Thanks to this, the falcon can instantly focus on the game, which is far below. In addition, there are two "yellow spots" in the eye of birds of prey, which are responsible for visual acuity. By the way, a person has only one such spot. The second yellow spot is able to magnify the object that the bird is looking at, creating the effect of binoculars.

Another falcon is the saker falcon. It was he who was called in the old days a finist. Falco cherrug

Saker falcon numbers are low everywhere, it is listed in the Red Book, as it is on the verge of extinction. According to estimates made in 2005, there were only 8,500 individuals. They nest on ledges of rocks, steppe hills, occupying old nests of Long-legged Buzzard, Raven, etc.

The female lays 3-5 red-brown eggs with dark brown spots and incubates them for a month. The male feeds the female during the incubation period. The saker falcon reaches a length of 47-57 cm with a weight of 800 to 1300 grams, a wingspan of 110 to 130 cm. This species does not have a standard plumage color. In different individuals, it varies depending on the individual. Differences in the color of the feathers of males and females are not observed, and this is a rather rare case. Since ancient times, the Saker Falcon has been highly valued as a hunting bird, since it has no equal in the steppe and desert. Each pair takes care of several nests and uses them in turn. Saker falcons in nature live an average of 18-20 years. Cases when birds reached 28-30 years are noted. In flight, the saker falcon can be distinguished from other birds (for example, from a falcon) by its wider wings and long tail.

The Saker Falcon’s voice resembles the sounds “kyak, kyak-kyak” or trill (during the breeding season) wild nature these predators can live up to 20 years. However, there are cases when they reached the age of 25-30 years. The saker falcon is distinguished by its maneuverable flight and can hunt both in open fields and among dense bushes and light forests. Saker Falcons are monogamous birds and have a fairly large hunting area, approximately 20 km. Interestingly, when approaching the target, the predator does not reduce speed. On the contrary, it is gaining. The presence of a strong skull and elastic joints allows avoiding injuries to the bird. On Arab East saker falcon is a cult sacred bird.

Miniature, graceful falcon, wingspan 60-65 cm. The flight is somewhat reminiscent of the flight of swallows - fast and maneuverable, alternating with frequent shallow wing beats, and gliding. It hunts low above the ground, when diving, it glides in waves in the air with folded wings. Unsociable, and outside the nest, usually a silent bird. The signal of concern is the accelerating sharp and abrupt call “kyak-kyak-kyak” typical of falcons. In the steppe or moorland nests directly on the ground under the cover of tall grass or shrubs.

Clutch contains 3-5 eggs. The male and female feed and care for the chicks together. On average, in the wild, these little falcons live for about 10 years.

This bird in England is also called Merlin - by the name of a wizard from ancient legends.

Falcon (lat. Falco vespertinus) A small falcon, proportions and behavior similar to the kestrel, but less broad-winged. The wingspan is 65-77 cm. It feeds almost exclusively on large insects - dragonflies, beetles, grasshoppers, etc. They nest in abandoned nests of corvids, sometimes in hollows, niches or burrows. Can form colonies up to 100 pairs. This migratory birds. The coloration of the female and male is very different.

The number of falcons is rapidly declining. There are 4-6 chicks in a brood. Life span 12 years.

Another small falcon is the hobby falcon, Falco subbuteo. Common features of this group are predominantly dark gray plumage, black "whiskers" and black longitudinal streaks on the chest.

The name "cheglok" comes from the old Russian word "chegl" meaning "original, authentic". It is assumed that in this way this bird is ranked among other trapping, noble falcons - peregrine falcon, gyrfalcon and saker falcon, although it differs from them in smaller sizes. In contrast, small falcons, not used in hunting, were singled out - the kestrel and the red-footed falcon.

Wingspan 69-84 cm, weight 130-340 g. Usually a silent bird, but in case of anxiety, it emits a loud, sharp and abrupt cry “kyak-kyak-kyak” typical of falcons. The flight is fast and maneuverable, frequent wing beats alternate with gliding, the hobby fob does not soar. The clutch contains 2-4 eggs, at the age of 28-34 days the fledglings are already able to fly. In the wild, the Hobby lives from 32 to 38 years.

Another falcon is a kestrel. Falco tinnunculus. Wingspan 75 - 76 cm B Lately the bird increasingly takes a fancy to the cities and territories adjacent to them, settling in close proximity to humans. It has the ability to flutter flight (like a hummingbird), It hangs in place at a height of 10-20 m and looks out for a suitable object of hunting. Having noticed the prey, the kestrel dives down and grabs it, slowing down already at the very ground.

The Latin tinnunculus translates as sonorous or ringing, which is associated with the unusually sonorous voice of the kestrel. Studies have shown that females have 11 different sound signals, and males have more than nine.

The life span of the kestrel is 9-12 years, some individuals live more than 24, although some sources report only 4 years. In general, I noticed that when it comes to the life span of a particular species of birds, it turns out that the data diverge.

The visual acuity of the common kestrel is 2.6 times higher than that of a human. A person with such vision could read the entire vision chart from a distance of 90 meters. In addition, this bird sees ultraviolet light, which means urine marks left by rodents (urine glows brightly in ultraviolet light and the fresher, the brighter), near which the rodent is almost certainly located.

The gyrfalcon also applies to falcons, but there will be a separate post about it.
