Where is the most dangerous attraction. The best amusement parks in the world

Roller coaster, carousels, Ferris wheels and other attractions are loved by both adults and children. They allow you to forget about problems for a while and get a dose of adrenaline - a special hormone that puts a person in a state close to euphoria. But there is entertainment in the world that is intended only for real extreme sports - from one glance at them, the heart goes to the heels, the palms begin to itch, and goosebumps run down the back. So fasten your seat belts and get ready for the tour. You will see the most scary rides in the world.

X Scream

In Las Vegas there is a large hotel and entertainment complex "Stratosphere", crowned with a huge spire 350 meters high - this is one of the highest observation towers in the Western Hemisphere, where three of the craziest and creepiest attractions are located. One of them is called "X Scream", which means "scream" in English and is quite true - even brave, stern men here squeal with fear, like girls watching a horror movie.

The attraction was opened in 2005, and consists of a short rail and a small open trailer. After the visitors take their seats, the trolley accelerates and rolls down at speed, right into the gaping abyss beyond the edge of the roof. At the very end of the rail, it slows down slightly, after which it dives sharply down, and the people sitting inside have a full impression that they fall down from great heights. There are only four seats in the trailer, but for some reason there is no line of tourists - there are not so many daredevils who want to experience real horror.

Insanity the Ride

Another attraction of the "Stratosphere", which is considered the highest and probably the creepiest carousel in the world. Insanity the Ride, or simply insanity, is a structure suspended at a height of almost three hundred meters (the distance to the edge of the roof is 20 meters), with five open booths. Those who want to ride sit in the booths, after which they begin to spin at a speed of 65 km per hour, and the booths turn 70 degrees during rotation, and the riders find themselves facing the Earth.

A great place to take in the views of Las Vegas, but everyone who has tried crazy entertainment for themselves claims that landscapes are the least of your interest at this moment. If you open your eyes, which not everyone dares to do, you can feel how the mind and body are separated from each other.

The Big Shot

The highest of the three extreme rides"Stratospheres" - The Big Shot (Big Shot). It is a kind of human catapult - a frame with chairs, which moves up and down the spire, located at the top of the building, at a speed of 70 km per hour and four times the acceleration. First, chairs with daredevils rise up to the highest point of 329 meters, hang there for a few moments, after which they abruptly drop down, and so on several times in a row.

The catapult gives you the opportunity to admire the view of Las Vegas from the very high point city, and at the same time experience the feeling of free fall. Like the rest of the Stratosphere attractions, The Big Shot looks just creepy, but the organizers assure that everything is fine here in terms of safety - the risk of injury or death is minimal. Indeed, since 1996, when it was built, there is no information on accidents.

Giant Canyon Swing

At first glance, the attraction called "Giant Canyon" is a simple swing for four people, but only they are installed directly above a huge cliff 400 meters high above the Colorado River. The speed at which visitors take off over the abyss is 80 kilometers per hour. To fly over the abyss, you have to go to the amusement park Glenwood Caverns, located in Colorado.

It is said that even the founder of the "hell swing" Steve Beckley himself experienced them only once, and was so scared that he did not dare to try again.

Before taking their places on the chairs, the daredevils sign a special document. It states that they are aware of all the risks associated with such a pastime, and relieve the park administration of responsibility for their health.

Verruckt

Verrückt, which translates as "crazy", is a water slide at the Schlitterbahn water park (Kansas City, Kansas), which made it to the pages of the Guinness Book of Records. The height of the entire structure is 51.5 meters, which is much higher than the Statue of Liberty and Niagara Falls. Traveling along the gutter is carried out on special boats, accelerating up to 110 km per hour - first there is a descent, after which the structure rises again, and again falls down. A special mesh is installed around the gutter to insure passengers.

Unfortunately, the Verrückt attraction was not without accidents. A few years ago, a ten-year-old child, the son of a US congressman, died on it - the boy fell over the fence and crashed to death. During the investigation of the incident, the slide was closed, but now it is working again, attracting hundreds of thousands of thrill-seekers from all over the world.

Takabisha

In the Fuji-Q High Land in Japan, not far from the legendary Fujiyama volcano, there is Takabisha - the coolest rollercoaster in every sense on the planet, which also managed to get into the Guinness Book of Records. They opened in the summer of 2011, the length of the rails is 1 km, and the speed of the karts is about 100 km per hour, which can hardly be called the most impressive characteristics for such an attraction. The "chip" of Takabisha lies in the design of the slides - they have 7 very sharp turns, and from afar they look like tangled barbed wire, which is installed on top of the fence.

At its highest point, the Japanese rollercoaster rises to a height of 43 meters, after which it falls down at an angle of 121 degrees, and overcomes several more dizzying turns. Despite the fact that the ride time is only 112 seconds, and the ticket price is about $ 10, there are always enough people who want to experience the thrill.

Formula Rossa

The third attraction from today's selection, which won a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest in the world. The Formula Rossa rollercoaster faithfully replicates one of the world's most famous racetracks and is located in an amusement park dedicated to Ferrari called Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. The mechanism is equipped with a hydraulic launch system, similar to those installed in aircraft carriers, which allows passengers to experience an unforgettable experience. The attraction cards accelerate to 240 km per hour in just 5 seconds, and it was tested by real Formula 1 racers who confirmed the high level.

The maximum height of Formula Rossa is 52 meters, the total length is more than two kilometers, which park visitors overcome in 93 seconds.

True, not everyone can get on the attraction - if you believe the reviews, it is often closed without explanation. In addition, the height of the daredevil must be at least 130 and not more than 195 cm, and you will have to pay about $ 12 for a ticket.

tower of terror

Tower of terror, or "Tower of horror", built back in 1997 at Australia's main resort in Queensland, is the world's first attraction from the "free fall" category. The structure, 115 meters high, has an L-shape and a principle similar to a roller coaster - a trolley with passengers accelerates to 160 km per hour in 3 seconds to reach the highest point of the tower, after which it rushes down. It is at this moment that visitors to the attraction can experience the sensations of free fall.

Despite the fact that Tower of terror is far from claiming the title of the highest or fastest in the world, it does not lose popularity among those who like to tickle their nerves. In addition to the main attraction, it offers two additional ones located on the back side, and its power is enough to provide energy to a small town for 7 seconds.

Furius Baco

The Furius Baco rollercoaster ride is located in PortAventura Park, Salou, Spain and is one of the ten fastest rides of its kind in the world. It is interesting primarily because it is not just a go-kart ride, but a real theatrical performance. As conceived by the creators, visitors come to a suburban house where a crazy inventor lives with a monkey. He invites guests to test new car, running on grape wine, but at the last moment the monkey pulls the lever, and the mechanism accelerates to crazy speed.

Furius Baco trolleys pick up speed of 135 km per hour in 2-3 seconds, the total length of the route is 850 m, and at the very end of the trolley they fly literally a couple of centimeters from the water surface. Adds thrill original design attraction - chairs are fixed on the sides of the rails, and there is no support under the feet, which creates a complete feeling of flight.

Catapult

The only Russian attraction, which entered the top ten most terrible in the world, is located in the St. Petersburg amusement park "Divo Ostrov". Its height is more than 50 meters, and the structure consists of three large columns with metal cables and capsules attached to them - after starting the mechanism, the capsules with passengers inside fly up, while rotating around their own axis, and then go down.

lovers thrill, who have already tried the "Catapult", claim that the sensations can be compared with the fact that you were shot from a slingshot - in 4 seconds you can be at the level of the 20th floor.

The owners claim that the attraction is absolutely reliable - for several years of its operation there really was not a single accident, except for the fact that one man died a few minutes after he got out of the capsule.

Would you dare to ride one of the craziest rides in the world? If so, then you can proudly classify yourself as a real extreme.

8th place. Takabisha (Japan)

Suddenly, the engine kicks in and the trolley rushes towards the vertical loop. After leaving it, it goes into a tailspin and calmly overcomes 2 slides, after which it gradually reduces speed.

All this happens within 2 minutes, during which the trolley soars 43 m up, overcomes 121 sections with free fall and accelerates to 100 km / h.

The Takabisha slide was opened on July 16, 2011, on the same day it was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the coolest roller coaster made of steel.

7th place. Zip Word (North Wales)

Within 1.5-2 seconds. it hangs at the top point and can admire the beauties of the island from a bird's eye view.

This continues several times, as a result of which the daredevil receives a T-shirt as a keepsake, symbolizing his participation in this reckless event. Also, a USB with a video recording made by a camera placed in front of it, and capturing indescribable emotions, remains as a keepsake.

4th place. "Kingda Ka" (USA)

During the history of the existence of "Kingda Ka" it was closed several times due to unpleasant incidents:

  • On 07/8/2005, a bolt caught in the launch cable channel caused increased friction and acceleration problems. The appearance of sparks caused the detection of a malfunction and closure for repairs. The attraction was opened not for the faint of heart only on 4.08.2005.
  • May 2009 was marked for a bulky metal structure by a lightning strike. Serious damage was repaired until 21.08.2009.
  • Before Hurricane Irene (August 27, 2011), the slides were closed and opened only on April 5, 2012.
  • On July 26, 2012, an accident occurred. A bird crashed into a boy in a trolley. The child received minor injuries, the attraction continued to work after a short pause.

3rd place. "Big Shot" (USA)

Most high attraction not for the faint of heart located on the roof of the casino "Stratosphere". From the starting point (281 m), the chairs of the participants rise to the level of 339 m. They linger for a few seconds at this terrible height and rapidly "rush" down to the initial level. This continues several times.

“We went up to the roof of the Stratosphere to look at the leaders in the rating of deadly rides. For 30 minutes, while they were there, there were no people who wanted to ride, although there were a lot of spectators, ”the tourist from Russia recalls his trip on his Instagram page with these words.

2nd place. "X-Scream" (USA)

The description of X Scream also applies to Las Vegas and the Stratosphere Tower. A trailer with 8 daredevils rises to accelerate and rushes down, going beyond the perimeter of the roof, which rises 339 m above ground level.

The mood of the people in the capsule is beyond description, as a real abyss stretches beneath them.

There is another attraction on the observation roof. He didn't make it to the top, but he should be mentioned. Carousel "Madness" looks no different from the usual. Only it spins 20 m outside the perimeter of the "Stratosphere".

1 place. "Free Fall Zone" (USA)

Falling from a height of 100 meters at a speed of 100 km / h - this is the meaning of the leader of the ten most terrible attractions in the world. It is located in Ohio, in the city of Paramount. The people sitting on the platform climb to the top of the pillar, where they linger for a few seconds. During this time, you can admire the beauty or just scream, releasing adrenaline. A fall from a height of a 26-story building begins suddenly, so it is impossible to prepare for it.

The most dangerous attractions are designed for adrenaline lovers who are not afraid of high speed, height and other incredible manipulations. Most of them are similar to extreme sports This is probably why they are in great demand not only among children, but also among adults.

Adrenaline helps a person become stronger and faster. Under its action, life's problems are solved more easily, weakness relieves as if by hand. According to scientists, adrenaline perfectly helps to deal with stress.

Single bursts of adrenaline that instantly come and go (for example, if you race in a dead loop at a dizzying speed of 150 kilometers per hour) are saving. They fill a person with energy, and also mobilize for instant reactions. The influx of oxygen into the blood makes the circulatory system work more actively, the defense system, in addition, sends a signal to the brain so that it releases the painkillers dopamine and endorphin, and they improve well-being.

So, it's time to fasten your seat belts. We offer you to get acquainted with the most terrible attractions in the world. And here it is worth mentioning that there is no definite rating, since everyone has different fears. Therefore, we decided to focus on the height of the rides and the developed speed.

"Cocoon" with visitors takes off to a height of 40 meters in a matter of seconds, then rapidly flies down. This pattern is repeated several times.

Top Scary Rides

Interestingly, if desired, the entire flight can be recorded using the onboard wireless video camera.

Japanese White Cyclone

The height of this attraction is 42 meters, and the length of the track is 1.7 kilometers. The trailers roll at a speed of about 100 kilometers per hour.

St. Petersburg "Catapult"

The attraction is located on Krestovsky Island in the park "Divo Ostrov". The height of the structure is 54 meters. And it consists of three columns, to which metal cables are attached. The scariest attraction in St. Petersburg - Catapult

During the flight, the capsules also turn over around themselves. So it will not be superfluous for the faint of heart to pray on the catapult.

Son of beast in Cincinnati

A dizzying slide 66 meters high opened in 2000. It is made of wood and is the tallest in the world. Until 2006, it was the only wooden slide with a dead loop.

German Silver Star

Sometimes the speed develops up to 100 kilometers per hour or more.

Free fall on Paramounte

Tower of terror II in Queensland, Australia

Those who dared to sit in the Tower of Terror shoot up with an arrow to a height of 115 meters. And after a sharp slowdown at the top, absolutely everyone loses any thoughts from their heads. Down they break down in 6.9 seconds and at wild speed in a state of weightlessness. And the adventure doesn't end there. The trailers again soar up and only after that the passengers get out.

Dodonpa in Fujiyoshida

Everyone who rides this rollocaster says that the sensations are comparable to a shot from a cannon in which the passenger was the core. In fact, this is not surprising, because here the acceleration of free fall is four times greater.

The train accelerates to top speed 172 kilometers per hour in 2 seconds. A trip of 55 seconds can seem like an eternity.

Kingda Ka in New Jersey

This is already a roller coaster - a source of speed, low-frequency screams and adrenaline. The name is such, since the record-breaking rides are located in the USA (in the States, slides are called Russian).

Attraction with a height of 139 meters appeared in 2005. This is the most high slide in the world of metal. A complex hydraulic mechanism accelerates the car in 3.5 seconds to 205 kilometers per hour. In the spring of 2009, lightning struck the hill, after which complex repairs followed. But now it is ready to receive new visitors.

The scariest attraction in the world - "Above the roof of the world"

The observation tower of the Stratosphere Las Vegas casino hotel has grown to 350 meters in height. It is the second tallest observation tower in the Western Hemisphere. Above only CN Tower She is located in Toronto. However, the attractions that are at the top of the "Stratosphere" are leaders in height in the whole world.

And here it doesn’t even matter what you choose: the Insanity carousel, the Big Shot tower or the X Scream trailer. Feelings will still be multiplied by three hundred meters. Until 2005, instead of two of these attractions, there were roller coasters, and the highest in the world. However, design limitations high roller did not allow the trolley to accelerate to maximum speed. In addition, the slide was on a small patch of the roof and surrounded the Big Shot mast, so there was simply nowhere to accelerate, it was replaced by Insanity and X Scream.

The Insanity carousel opened in 2005. In fact, this is the most regular carousel, but here it is spinning over a 300-meter abyss and 20 meters from the edge of the roof. X Scream is one of the scariest rides ever.

The Big Shot catapult appeared in 1997. This is the highest attraction in the world. He lifts to a height of 329 meters with a monstrous acceleration and at a speed of more than 70 kilometers per hour. Well, then - free fall from a height. This is the scariest attraction of the Stratosphere system.

In order to tickle their nerves, thrill-seekers are ready for the most unexpected things. Attractions, where people's adrenaline rush occurs under the control of specialists, help to satisfy the requests of extreme people, but to minimize the number of accidents around the world.

We present to you the top ten extreme entertainment, riding on which even the most fearless visitor will not remain indifferent.

The Smiler at Alton Towers, UK

This attraction is famous not only for its height, speed, number of sharp turns, but also for a kind of additional fear catalyst. Engineers, designers, psychologists, designers and scientists who studied the nature of fear worked on the creation of The Smiler. The thing is that the path, lasting 2 minutes and 45 seconds, is filled with a play of light and optical illusions. Passing through 14 loops of various diameters, at speeds exceeding 85 km/h, visitors dodge the needles approaching them and close their eyes from the bright light.

The cost of such an adventure is 36 euros for adults.

Colossus ride at Thorpe Amusement Park, UK

Locals in the UK have nicknamed this ride the "rollercoaster monster". According to visitors, Colossus is reminiscent of astronauts training before a flight. In a fairly short period of time, a person experiences emotions painted in a wide variety of shades of colors. The Colossus boasts ten coils, including the double helix, cobra coil, and more. The length of the attraction is 850 meters, and the speed reaches 77 km/h.

X Scream attraction in the USA

This entertainment is located in Las Vegas on top of a skyscraper. A visitor, eager to get a dose of adrenaline, takes a place in an open trailer, which is located on the edge of the roof. The trolley at full acceleration flies as if into an abyss, hovering at a height of 330 meters. The most daring can take a seat in the front row, as this part of the car crosses the edge of the rails and dives down. Visitors to the attraction experience this extreme pleasure several times.

US Big Shot attraction

The name of the entertainment speaks for itself: "Big Shot", where visitors play the role of bullets or cannonballs. The attraction is a structure that lifts people at a speed of 72 km / h to a height of 329 meters, and then makes a free fall down. There is something to be afraid of, after all, Big Shot is located on top of the Stratosphere skyscraper, which is one of the highest in the world in terms of overall height above ground level.

Attraction "Catapult" in Russia

One of the highest and most extreme rides in the world with a similar mechanism is a catapult located on Krestovsky Island in St. Petersburg. A huge slingshot, shooting a capsule with people more than 70 meters in height, gathers crowds of spectators every day. They say that from the highest point of the attraction opens scenic view on northern capital, but few people can appreciate it, because in a second the worst begins: the free fall zone and the rotation of the chairs around its axis.

Dodonpa ride in Japan

Among the fearless Japanese, there are also fans of the giant rollocoster, who come to experience a wide range of emotions every weekend. During the trip, the speed of the booths with visitors is 4 times the acceleration of free fall: the train accelerates to 172 km / h in 2 seconds. Under such conditions, a person can feel like a cannonball that just flew out of a cannon along an unknown trajectory. Most riders agree that 55 seconds on the ride feels like a lifetime.

Bungee jumping in Macau

Macau Tower - the most high building for bungee jumping in the world. In Russia, such a device for entertainment is used to be called a "bungee" and often a semblance of an attraction is found in recreation or swimming areas. However, a rope tied at one end to a tree has nothing to do with professional and reliable bungee jumping. A person who decides on such an extreme act is instructed, signs documents, receives equipment and prepares for the most terrible step in his life. Unlike skydiving, you can change your mind, but the $400 spent will not be refunded.

Attraction Formula Rossa in the UAE

The world's fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa, is located in Abu Dhabi at Ferrari World. Even notorious thrill-seekers who have tested most of the most frightening rides in the world claim that fear appears here on a physiological level, whether you like it or not. In a couple of seconds, with the help of an ejection launch system, the trolley accelerates from 0 to 240 km / h. The body, not prepared for such acceleration and overload, produces adrenaline, which is the main purpose of visiting such attractions.

US Insanity carousel

Carousel - sounds harmless, but only if it's not Insanity, located on the roof of a skyscraper in Las Vegas. It would seem that what can scare a person who came to try out an attraction that accelerates only up to 60 km / h? The designers of the Insanity carousel have a concise and understandable answer to this question: height. The abyss, the depth of which reaches 300 meters, is directly under the visitors of the attraction. Especially for those for whom one height is not enough, the carousel “opens up”, and the faces of people during the circling turn out to be below, from where a wonderful view of the city opens.

Zip world at Penrhyn Quarry Great Britain

The thrill of flying over the expanses of north Wales can be given to you by the extreme rope attraction Zip World at Penrhyn Quarry. Unlike its own kind of entertainment, this one is famous for its height, speed and great views. Accelerating to 161 km / h at an altitude of several hundred meters, the extreme enjoys views of majestic mountains and a stunning lake. The length of the cable along which people descend is more than one and a half kilometers, and the approximate time of the “flight” is 2 minutes.

Do you like rides? If you think this is child's play, then you probably just don't know that there are such scary rides that only the brave will decide to ride them.

The scariest rides: top 10

1. "Above the roof of the world". Las Vegas has a very high lookout tower"Stratosphere", whose height reaches 350 meters, and this is the second highest observation tower in the entire Western Hemisphere. What is significant and surprising given place? In fact, it combines three attractions at once, not for the faint of heart.

The first is the Big Shot tower. The name translates as "big shot" and speaks for itself. You will be seated on a platform and strapped in, and then lifted to a height of 329 meters at a speed of 70 kilometers per hour. This place was opened in 1996, and it is the most "senior" on the "Stratosphere".

The second attraction located here is the carousel "Insanity" (which translates as "madness"). You might think that this is the simplest and most common carousel, but it is located at a height of 300 m almost above the abyss, and another 20 meters away from the edge of the roof. You will be spun with a fairly significant acceleration, and at the same time you will be located face down.

And finally, the X Scream trailer. In it you will be dispersed and sent almost into the abyss. The nose of the trailer will hover over the abyss, and it will seem to you that you are about to fall. By the way, there are few people who want to ride in such a crazy trailer.

Located in the state of Colorado in America. At the very edge of the cliff (you will have to fall at least 400 meters from it) there are swings with long rods. You and three other madmen will be seated on this swing and rolled at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour over the very abyss.

By the way, in order to visit this attraction, you need to sign a document stating that riding can lead to injuries, falls and death. Worth considering!

In the amusement park "Divo Ostrov" in St. Petersburg. Cables are attached to two huge columns, which provide strong tension and allow the capsule (it is attached to these same cables) to fly up to a height of up to 54 meters at great speed. Then you return back, but then take off again under the influence of your own weight and inertia.

At the same time, the capsule has the ability to rotate around its axis, so dizzying (in the literal sense of the word) emotions are provided to you. There is a similar attraction elsewhere, it is called the "Flying Dutchman", but the height of the rise is lower and is only 35-40 meters, but there is an enchanting backlight. You can also order a video and then see your frightened face.

4. Freefall zone in Paramount (Ohio). Want to test if you're afraid of heights? Visit this attraction. It is a pillar about 100 meters high and a platform placed on it.

First, you will be lifted to the top of the pillar so that you can explore the surroundings and enjoy the views, and then you will literally be thrown down so that you feel and understand what a free fall is. By the way, you will fall at a speed of about 100 kilometers per hour.

5. "Formula Ross" at the Ferrari Park located in Abu Dhabi (United United Arab Emirates). This is truly the fastest roller coaster in the world. So, in just 5 seconds, a speed equal to 240 kilometers per hour develops, which is incredibly high. G-loads are almost comparable to those experienced by astronauts.

And since the speed is prohibitive, all skiers are given special goggles that protect their eyes. You will soar into the sky to a height of over 50 meters, and then go down almost in free fall. Impressive? Watch the video and you will understand what emotions you can experience on such an attraction.

6. Also on the list is an attraction. "Smiler", which is a roller coaster, but not quite ordinary. Firstly, there is a record number of dead loops, namely 14.

Secondly, the highest loop is located at a height of 30 meters. Thirdly, the attraction was developed by engineers under the guidance of psychologists, who were tasked with increasing the fear factor.
