Excursions in the Pushkin mountains. Go to the Pushkin mountains? It's very simple

CONTENTS of the EXCURSION tour to Pushkinskiye Gory for 2 days

Day 1
07:30 Departure of the bus from St. Petersburg from metro station "Moskovskaya", Moskovsky pr. 189. Excursion along the highway.
Arrival in Pushkinskiye Gory — the center of the reserve, which includes the estates of Mikhailovskoye, Petrovsky, Trigorskoye and Svyatogorsky Monastery. Tour of the Pushkin Museum-Reserve "Mikhailovskoye".
Visiting the estate "Petrovskoe". Petrovskoye, like Mikhailovskoye, was presented to Abram Petrovich Hannibal by Empress Elizaveta Petrovna. His son, Pyotr Abramovich Gannibal, landscaped the estate. He built a luxurious house and pitched beautiful park, after which he lived on his estate for 37 years, not knowing what to do with himself. He was the only one of the children of the “Arap of Peter the Great” with whom Pushkin was closely acquainted and often communicated. Obviously, the eccentric Pyotr Abramovich is vividly reminiscent of Kirill Petrovich Troekurov from Pushkin's story Dubrovsky. In 1918 the house was burned down. Only in 1969 it was decided to restore the estate, and after another 8 years the House-Museum dedicated to the life of three generations of Hannibals was opened.
Excursion to the Svyatogorsky Monastery located in the village of Pushkinskiye Gory. During the years of exile, Pushkin was under the supervision of the abbot of the monastery, hegumen Jonah, and regularly visited the monastery. He could freely use the archives and the richest monastery library, which was absolutely necessary for his work on Boris Godunov. He also visited the family necropolis near the walls of the Assumption Cathedral. In April 1836, Pushkin brought a coffin with his mother's body here from the capital and bought a place for himself in the cemetery. A few months later, on February 6, 1837, Pushkin himself, who was killed in a duel, was buried here. Since 1841, a monument has stood on the poet's grave. On the granite plinth is carved: “Alexander Sergeevich PUSHKIN. Born in Moscow on May 26, 1799. He died in St. Petersburg on January 29, 1837.” In 1992, the Svyatogorsk Monastery was returned to the Pskov diocese, and regular services resumed in the Assumption Cathedral.
Accommodation. Dinner.

Day 2
09:00 Breakfast. Continuation of the tour of the Pushkin Museum-Reserve.
Tour of the Pushkin Museum-Reserve "Mikhailovskoe". Mikhailovskoye is the family nest of the Hannibals-Pushkins. In 1742, these lands were granted to Abram Petrovich Hannibal, the great-grandfather of the poet. Pushkin visited Mikhailovskoye only in the summer of 1817 and 1819, but in August 1824 he returned here as an exile and remained until September 1826. In 1899, on the 100th anniversary of the poet’s birth, the estate was bought out in state property, and in 1911 the first Pushkin Museum was opened here. First but not last In February 1918 the estate was burned to the ground. In 1937, the House-Museum was built on the same site, the exposition was opened for the second time, and again unsuccessfully. The Great Patriotic War began, and soon Mikhailovskoye was captured by the Nazis. The Nazis plundered and burned the House-Museum, mined even Pushkin's grave. On the territory of the reserve, sappers neutralized more than 7000 mines! The restoration was incredibly difficult, but on June 12, 1949, the revived House-Museum of the poet was opened again, for the third time.
Museum-estate "Trigorskoye" the estate of close friends of Pushkin. The mistress of the house was P.A. Osipova-Wulf, head of a large family. The exiled Pushkin became friends with her son Alexei and two older daughters. Pushkin scholars are sure that Trigorskoye is the home of the Larins in the novel "Eugene Onegin", and the Trigorsk young ladies themselves considered themselves the prototypes of the heroines of the novel - Tatiana and Olga. In 1918 the estate was burned down. It was possible to restore it only in 1962 thanks to miraculously preserved photographs and drawings. The poetic corners of the Trigorsk park - "Tatyana's Alley", "Onegin's Bench" and "Solitary Oak" - are invariably popular with visitors.
Dinner. Departure to St. Petersburg. Estimated time of arrival at 22:00-23:00.

The Pushkinsky Reserve near Pskov is a very vast territory, because various museums and monuments are located at a distance of 3-5 kilometers from each other and from the village of Pushkinskiye Gory. With public transport, the situation here is not easy: buses and minibuses run rarely and you can’t check their schedule on the Internet. Driving your own car eliminates these problems and allows you to see the maximum of interesting things. True, if you are planning to visit Pushkinskiye Gory, it hardly makes sense to specially go here from Moscow only for a day, it is better to stop for the weekend and explore the surroundings in detail. But if you are passing through these parts or have arrived in Pskov and are ready to devote a day to the reserve, our route will help you navigate.

When is the best time to visit Pushkinskiye Gory?

Perfect time to visit Pushkin Reserve- of course, summer, when landscapes are pleasing to the eye, all museums are open, all cafes work. True, there are many tourists in the summer. At the beginning of autumn in these places it is also pleasant and picturesque. It is beautiful here even in winter, but you won’t be able to make a thorough walk around the neighborhood, you will have to limit yourself to museums. The main thing: do not come here in April and November, because during these months museums and parks are closed for sanitation! The current timetable is best specified on the website of the museum-reserve.

Parking and passes

Even a car will not save you from having to make big hiking: the entrance to the museum-reserves themselves is prohibited by car, it will have to be left in the parking lots - at a fairly large distance from the manor houses. But this should not scare you: after all, the most beautiful surroundings of the estates are no less important for tourists than the house-museums of Pushkin and his neighbors themselves.

To get to the parking lots in front of the estates, you need to Pushkin Mountains visit the Scientific and Cultural Center museum-reserve on Novorzhevskaya street, 21 and buy a pass for 200 rubles. Such a pass can also be sold at the box office of museums and even in a souvenir shop near the Svyatogor cafe. However, the pass does not make life much easier: without it, you can drive to all the estates and leave the car on the side of the road in front of the barriers, and not in the parking lots behind them. There is also a free official parking lot "At Three Pines", which can be reached from the village of Voronich - it is located 1.5 kilometers from Mikhailovsky and a kilometer from Trigorsky. And the most scenic road to Mikhailovsky - all the same, a walking path through the forest from Bugrov, and not a path along the highway to a paid parking lot.

Two ways to Mikhailovskoye

Most likely you will come to Pushkinskiye Gory from Pskov along the R-23 highway through the Ostrov, turning left in the Novgorodka area. The journey will take approximately 2 hours. It is better for motorists to start the tour with a visit to the manor-museums, and Svyatogorsky monastery leave for the evening with Pushkin's grave - after all, museums are closed to visitors earlier than the monastery territory. True, if you want to end your trip in Trigorskoye, it may be easier for you to immediately go from there to the road towards Pskov, without returning to the center of Pushkinskiye Gory. In this case, visit the Svyatogorsk Monastery immediately.

The first and most important homestead for tourists is, of course, Mikhailovskoe.

But before you visit it, you have to decide which way to Mikhailovskoye to choose: short and simple or long and picturesque? In the first case, drive out of Pushkinskiye Gory along Lenina Street and along the road towards Petrovsky until you reach the checkpoint at the entrance to Mikhailovskoye. Here you can also leave the car in the parking lot and walk 500 meters to the estate through the "Festive Glade".

The second travel option: move along Lenina Street until the turn to the camp site, and then turn right at the fork in front of Lugovka - to Bugrovo. Here the car will have to be left in the parking lot, after which you can visit the museum " Pushkin village» and wooden mill(this makes sense if you have children with you) or immediately go through the forest to Mikhailovskoye. You have to walk about 3 kilometers. If you choose this route option, a visit to Mikhailovskoye will impress you much more, but then you will have to return to the car for a long time to go to other estates. But if you want to limit yourself to one Mikhailovsky and "Pushkinskaya village" in Bugrov, this option is ideal.

Turn to Dovlatov

Arriving in Bugrovo, it is not necessary to leave the car immediately: you can at the fork near the hotel " Arina R.» turn right onto the dirt road and drive to the neighboring village of Berezino to visit house-museum of Sergei Dovlatov. True, it is best to agree in advance with the museum staff about the excursion - they are very interesting.

For other estates

After walking through the park in Mikhailovsky and visiting the manor house, you can return to the car and continue the journey. If you left your car in a parking lot on the road Petrovskoye, it is logical to drive further, to this quiet estate, which belonged to the descendants of the second son of Abram Hannibal, that is, Pushkin's maternal relatives. It's very calm here, fewer tourists and it's nice to walk through the old park with a gazebo-grotto.

But more often tourists tend to see the estate of Pushkin's neighbors and friends of the Osipov-Wulfs - Trigorskoe. It is more convenient to go here from Bugrov: return to the fork where you turned right and go straight to Lugovka. After Lugovka, you need to turn left onto Voronich and leave the car in a parking lot not far from settlement Voronich to stroll past it to the manor. However, if you want to get closer to the Trigorskoye estate, you can drive here from Pushkinskiye Gory along the Pushkinogorskoye highway through the village of Sharobyki - the road will lead you to a parking lot not far from the main manor house.

After the estate, you can either go on the road towards Pskov, or return to Pushkin mountains to visit the Svyatogorsk Monastery and put flowers on Pushkin's grave.

Children's route

If you have small children with you, you should think about how to diversify the program so that they do not get tired of visiting several estates. You should not go on excursions to manor houses with the kids, but you can take a walk in Mikhailovsky Park, where there are many interesting objects: turf benches, bridges, picturesque barns. Children usually like the "Pushkin Village" with a mill in Bugrovo. In addition, you can visit the Ecopark " Zoograd”- from Pushkinskaya Street, which leads to Trigorskoye, you need to turn onto Zapadnaya Street and from it - to the right, to the zoo. The ecopark mainly collects animals that were mentioned in Pushkin's poems or are somehow thematically connected with him - for example, they come from Africa. At the same time, pets are mostly picked up sick or crippled and could not survive in natural conditions, but here they feel great, many of them are kept in open enclosures or even roam freely around the territory, children are allowed to feed and pet them. So a visit to the park leaves a very pleasant impression for kids and adults.

On the other side of the village, on Sovkhoznaya Street, there is an apiary " bee estate”, or rather, not the apiary itself, but the beekeeping museum, where visitors are interestingly told about the history of the honey industry and try honey. Behind additional fee here you can organize a tea party with pies, so this place, although not mandatory to visit, is also quite interesting.

Where to eat in Pushkinskiye Gory

There are not so many places to eat in the village and the surrounding area.

  • In the Pushkin Mountains themselves, you can dine in restaurants " Svyatogor" And " Lukomorye» on Lenina street. But don't expect anything special from these establishments. culinary delights, no interesting atmosphere - these are ordinary provincial cafes, perhaps with some pretense of pathos.
  • A little better cafe « Basket» at the hotel «Arina R.» in Bugrov, but it is not cheap.
  • in Mikhailovsky summer time the cafe works birch» near the Holiday Glade with a very modest assortment.
  • There is a cafe at the entrance to Petrovsky Petrovskoye” from the terrace which offers a picturesque view of the surroundings, but it also works only in the warm season.

Before this trip, I had already been to Pushkinsky Gory twice - once at about the age of 13, and the second time with my classmates at the end of the 11th grade. But there is such a charming atmosphere that I always wanted to return, and most importantly, to show my husband these picturesque places.
Pushkinskiye Gory is a village in the Pskov region, next to which is the Pushkinsky Reserve - the estate of Mikhailovskoye, Trigorskoye, the estate of Pushkin's friends, and Petrovskoye, the family estate of the Hannibals, as well as Svyatogorsky Monastery, where the poet is buried. In close proximity the Velikaya River flows, on which the Pskov Kremlin stands further downstream, and many lakes.

We ended up in Pushgori in the midst of summer, and were glad how the reserve looks like - everything is well-groomed and tidy, young people with trained voices as guides, comfortable hotels and recreation centers.

More than 400 km from St. Petersburg to Pushkinskiye Gory. The idea was not to tire the child and drive a short distance by car at a time (Grisha was 11 months old at the time of the trip, he no longer sleeps in the car all the time). So we started our road trip leaving for the first night in Velikiy Novgorod. In short - a lot of old Russian churches, but a relatively small provincial town.

Embankment at the tributary of the Velikaya River.

After Pskov, as well as visits to Pechory and Izborsk, we headed to the main goal of our trip - the Pushkin Mountains, where we spent three nights and four days.
Although there are no mountains here, you can see only small hills, water meadows and lakes.

Mikhailovskoye estate, which belonged to the poet's mother.

Last year, for the New Year holidays, a group of friends and I went on a trip to Moscow-Peter-Pskov-Pechory-Izborsk-Pushkinsky Gory-Moscow. If almost all of our company were in St. Petersburg, then in the north-west of the country, in Pskov, there were only a few, from which the trip aroused genuine interest. Moreover, to meet New Year in a new environment is always interesting.

So, new year holidays, the time when our whole country is resting and finally you can relax and not run anywhere. The first part of our trip took place in St. Petersburg, where we planned to spend the new year. Further on the train from St. Petersburg was scheduled to move to Pskov. Having lived for several days on Pskov land, having examined the surroundings, we had to return to Moscow. In a nutshell, we developed a route ( detailed plan trips to St. Petersburg and Pskov here).

Lately I don't like excursion tours. How can I imagine this crowd of tourists, a guide who always runs somewhere, loads you with unnecessary and not always interesting facts. It is much more interesting to travel on your own, to walk along interesting places, interesting to you. In addition, if you have free time and the Internet at hand, you can prepare well for the trip.

The group of travelers got quite large, so I acted as a coordinator, or rather a person responsible for buying train tickets and booking hotels. As always before new year holidays everything was tight with the choice of hotels, so I had to book non-hotels where there were places.

Day 1. Arrival in St. Petersburg. Check-in at the hotel, Dinner at the Pharmacy, a walk around the night St. Petersburg

We arrived from Moscow to St. Petersburg late in the evening, around 21 on an evening high-speed trip. Some modern trains became very reminiscent of European ones. So we were lucky we rode in seated car where there were separate compartments designed for 6 people. These carriages have tables, which is especially convenient if you are traveling with a group. You can order something to eat from the train driver if you didn’t have time to do it in the city. Convenient and comfortable.

A few hours before Peter flashed by so that we did not notice. Coming out on the platform, we met our friends with umbrellas. It's Peter, baby. It almost always rains here, even if it's New Year's Eve. There is absolutely nothing to do there without an umbrella.

Arriving in the city on the Neva, we went to check into the hotel that I had booked. It was a mini-hotel Egoist, located in the very center of St. Petersburg, on Nevsky Prospekt. Before this incident, I have never lived in mini-hotels that are located in residential buildings. It was an interesting experience, because apart from our company, no one else lived in the hotel at that time. The biggest plus of the hotel is the location. It's so nice to slowly leave your room and walk to Palace Square, take a leisurely stroll along the Neva embankments and come back, and all this without public transport. The hotel also had disadvantages. For example, the bathroom - I hate showers without a tray when you have to stand on bare tiles.Review of the hotel Egoist can be read Here.

In general, there are always pros and cons, but in the summer I would be happy to come to the Egoist Hotel on Nevsky again.

After settling in, in the rain, we went for a walk along the Nevsky. nice Christmas trees appeared on the streets, in general I love night cities, because many shortcomings are hidden.

Peter was decorated especially, royally. Less rich than Moscow, but more stylish, in the spirit of the palace.

A Christmas tree appeared at the Gostiny Dvor.

In the evening we had a dinner booked at the unusual Indian cafe Apteka, secret place for the elect. I wrote more about this in a story about first day of travel.

After dinner we went for a walk palace square, which on the evening of December 29 was completely deserted, not counting the saxophonist, deducing his melodies.

We finished the evening with a walk along the Embankments.

Day-2. Peter. Visit to Yusupov Palace, Museum of Russian Vodka, Exhibition "Grand Model of Russia"

The second day of our trip fell on December 30, it was Monday. The plan was to dedicate this day cultural program, but as you know, on Monday, many museums are closed, which limited our choice. In advance, I scheduled a visit to the Yusupov Palace (popular, but less known among tourists than the Hermitage, for example), the Russian Vodka Museum and the unusual new project "Grand Model of Russia".

The morning in St. Petersburg was, as always, overcast, rainy and snowless. We left the hotel and went to breakfast. The place was chosen in advance, along the way of our journey. It was a hipster buffet. Reindeer sweater.

In the afternoon, according to the program, we had a visit to the Yusupov Palace on the Moika. The ticket office of the palace is located next to the building. When buying tickets, there were two options: wait for the tour, which takes place every two hours, or purchase a ticket with an audio guide. We chose the latter and did not regret it, since the time here was not limited, we could admire the interiors to our heart's content. beautiful palace. Everyone was especially impressed by the premises of the private theatre.

The palace has an exposition dedicated to Grigory Rasputin, because, as you know, Felix Yusupov was directly involved in the shameful event to eliminate Rasputin. We decided not to go to these halls, as we were limited in time, and we were pretty tired after visiting the halls.

On the same day we visited the museum: "Grand Layout of Russia" (address Saint Petersburg, metro station Moscow Gates, Tsvetochnaya st., 16). This is a new project for St. Petersburg, it includes a huge model, which presents various regions of Russia in miniature.

The museum is located 10 minutes walk from the metro, on the territory of the former industrial zone. Children really like this place, so I recommend it especially for hiking with kids, because the layout is not static, trains and ships are moving there all the time. In addition, individual scenes can be activated at the touch of a button.

Despite the fact that there were only adults in our group, everyone liked the trip here very much.

Also in St. Petersburg we visited the Museum of Russian Vodka. It was New Year's Eve, so we couldn't get the guide to tell us about the exhibits. But next to the museum there is a restaurant Ryumochnaya, where you could taste different kinds spirits, but already in a pleasant atmosphere. The museum itself is more designed for foreigners, while it will not make much of an impression on Russians.

A detailed review of the visit to the Museum of Russian Vodka can be read here.

Drinks near the Museum of Russian vodka.

Day-3. Peter. Walk to the Smolny Cathedral, New Year's Eve at the Literary Cafe

On December 31, we decided to spend it calmly, walking around the area of Liteiny Prospekt. The weather calmed down a bit, and it was decided to walk to the Smolny Cathedral.

The walk to the Smolny turned out to be picturesque, but it was not possible to visit the Cathedral itself. They were preparing for an event here, so it was closed. In general, on the eve of the New Year, many institutions, museums, and cathedrals were closed in St. Petersburg. Apparently everyone started preparing for the celebration, and the tourists were not expected.

On the way from Smolny in the direction of the station square, we met a wonderful establishment Croo cafe. We had a great time here. The staff was very pleasant, the service was fast, the food was delicious.

The young student waiter was very sociable and told us about places in the city where you can go. For which special thanks to him. I recommend the cafe, one of best experience about Petersburg catering.

In the evening of the same day, we were going to celebrate the New Year in one of the most famous restaurants in St. Petersburg - in the "Literary Cafe". The institution is known for the fact that it was here that A.S. Pushkin before his last duel. Naturally, everything here is imbued with the spirit of that era, and on the first floor of the institution you can see the "model" and Alexander Sergeevich himself.

We liked the interior of the institution, but the celebration itself was not very good. I’m silent about the fact that they gave us expired champagne to drink and tried to hide it in every possible way.

You can read how we celebrated the New Year in the Literary Cafe here.

Day 4. Peter. Party "Favorite Place 2113", "Terrace", Rossis

The first day of the new year passed almost in a blur. We walked along Nevsky Prospekt, went to several establishments.

Day 5. Peter. Peter and Paul Fortress and Koryushka restaurant. Moving to Pskov

Lastly, in St. Petersburg, we left a visit Peter and Paul Fortress. We had to get on the subway and get there.

In the fortress, one could walk along the fortress wall, visit the Cathedral of Peter and Paul with a magnificent spire, and also visit the prison bastion.

Prison of the Peter and Paul Fortress. Most Interest present the stories of the prisoners of this fortress, which can be found on the information stands near the cells.

In the evening of the same day we went to Pskov. The road took only a few hours, which flew by unnoticed.

Day 6. Pskov, trip to Pechory and Izborsk

In Pskov, our entire company, not counting that part of it, which was originally from Pskov, was the first time.

In this city, I booked standard rooms at the Kolos Hotel. Its advantage was its location - in the very center, not far from Pskov Kremlin(Kroma). the hotel rooms were big enough and the bath cozy. It was unusual that water heaters hung in the bathroom. Looks like sometimes there are outages. hot water, and this is done for the convenience of visitors. In general, I had no complaints about the hotel. The only thing is that the cleaning was not carried out very carefully, only when we hung a sign on the door asking us to clean up.

You can read my review of the Kolos Hotel in Pskov here.

So, on to travel. On the first day of our visit to Pskov, we immediately went by car to Pechory and Izborsk. Visiting these two settlements can be combined into one, since they are located along the way (the farthest are Pechory).

In Pechory there is the famous Pechersky Monastery, which is famous for its caves. The monastery is surrounded by impregnable walls, which more than once saved it from the invasion of enemies. Inside the walls there are several temples where miraculous icons are kept. The main attraction are the holy caves, which are still active today. if you receive the blessing of the priest, you will be allowed to visit them with an escort. We didn’t manage to do this, because it was Christmas Eve and everyone was busy with completely different issues - we had to decorate churches, tune in for the holiday.

Despite the fact that we did not get into the church, it was quite interesting and informative. We were very surprised that in Pechory, despite a large number of pilgrims and tourists, very few places to eat. Most popular place The old tower was full of tourists, so we had to go to the canteen nearby to warm up.

A detailed review of our trip to the Pechora Monastery, its history and legends can be read here.

After visiting Pechora, we went to Old Izborsk, the place where the fortress was preserved. Restoration took place a few years ago, so today it is a very worthy tourist facility. The greatness of Izborsk is that it is mentioned in chronicles as the place where Truvor came to rule, one of the very first Ruriks called to the kingdom. However, the city itself was slightly different from where today's fortress is located. If you want to get to that very place, you will need to go to the Truvor settlement, where you can also see the two-meter Truvor cross.

We didn’t have much time, so we limited ourselves to visiting the Izborsk fortress, walking along the Malskaya Valley and visiting the Slovenian springs and the lake.

Gorodishchenskoye Lake and keys.

After such an intense excursion program, we decided to have lunch at the hotel restaurant in Izborsk. The food was quite tasty, but the service was very slow. After lunch we returned to Pskov and took a short walk around the city at night.

Day-7. A trip to the Pushkin mountains

One day we went to the so-called Pushkin mountains. The road was long, since it is about 120 kilometers from Pskov one way.

First of all, we stopped at the Svetlogorsk Monastery. This monastery is known for the fact that Alexander Sergeevich liked to spend his time here when he visited Mikhailovsky. Here he is buried, next to the main cathedral.

After visiting the monastery, we stopped at Mikhailovskoye, walked there and examined manor house(this is already the 5th house, the previous ones burned down). Further from Mikhailovsky, we made an amazing walk through the fields and forests in the direction of Trigorskoye. We got a little lost and could not walk to the second estate.

I had to call friends by car in order to get to Trigorsky.

In general, one day is very little to explore the Pushkin Mountains, you must definitely come here with an overnight stay.

Day-8. Pskov, Krom, sightseeing, visiting the Mirozhsky Monastery, Paganka's Chambers, walking around the city

In the most ancient Pskov, we walked not so much for only two days. During this time, we toured the Kremlin, the Trinity Cathedral, the museum of Pagankin's Chambers, and the Mirozhsky Monastery.

Day-9. Pskov, walk around the city, buying souvenirs, departure to Moscow

We spent the last day in Pskov buying souvenirs and walking around the city.

About what you can bring from Pskov, I wrote in detail here.

Late in the evening of the 9th day of our journey, we took the night train to Moscow. In general, the trip turned out to be rich and informative. We discovered the city of Pskov with a great desire to return again. As it turned out, 4 days in Pskov is not enough.
