What to take with you on a bus trip. What to take with you on the road from products. Who is an escort

As a rule, everyone who is going on a bus tour for the first time asks the same question: What things do I need to take with me? Experienced Tourists, who have been on such tours more than once, they already know everything for sure on a list basis, what will come in handy on the road, and what will be an extra burden. Let us also clarify for ourselves once and for all what to take on a bus tour.

Bus travel is generally a special kind of organized group tourism, which has its own indescribable collective atmosphere, its own tricks and nuances. With the right approach, you will get a lot of unforgettable impressions and emotions, and traveling by bus will be as comfortable as possible for you. And vice versa, if you don’t prepare well for the trip, then the whole trip can turn out to be a nightmare!

Remember: on trips of this kind, it is important to take only the most necessary, at a minimum of things! All this must be divided by importance into two categories and decomposed into two bags. The first will be in the luggage compartment, and the second, in the form of a backpack, should always be with you and lie on the top of the bus shelf. All the most necessary things should be in the backpack. travel bag better suited for moving than suitcases, as it is both lighter and stretchable and on wheels.

The most important things, such as: money, documents, plastic cards and a phone should always be at hand in a small purse - purse.

The advantages of traveling by bus over other modes of transport such as planes, trains, or large ocean-going boats are not always obvious, but they are there.

These include the delivery of the passenger "from and to" the destination, the opportunity to observe the beauty of those places that you cross on this six-wheeled monster.
In addition, traveling by bus is usually cheaper than flying by plane. We will keep silent about the train, because, where the train goes, it is not entirely reasonable to go by bus.

Well, perhaps everything. The rest is small and big inconveniences that you need to know about in advance so that there are no painful memories from the trip that will block all the impressions of the purpose of your trip, whether it is an excursion or taking you to a resort or somewhere else.

1. What to take with you on the bus tour.

Well, what to take with you on a trip is up to you individually.
If these are trains to Arkhangelsk on the winter vacation, then a swimsuit will be out of place, and in the summer, felt boots sticking out of a suitcase in Bulgaria will look somehow strange.

It's about what to take with you on the bus so as not to ask the driver's uncle to get your luggage at the bus stop.
You can ask to get a cosmetic bag from your luggage, but not always the driver will meet you halfway.

So, in a medium-sized bag, so that it can be freely moved around the cabin, in addition to your individual list, you should put:

  • Bottled water (the amount depends on the time and year and your individual thirst).
Mineral sparkling water should be opened once before the trip and then tightly screwed on. In order not to water yourself and your neighbors with a fountain when you open a freshly sealed bottle already on a trip.
  • Packaged foods that can be easily eaten without prior preparation.
Leave any tomatoes that need to be cut, chicken in foil, etc., for a trip on trains.
    We take various sandwiches, etc.
  • Wet wipes. Hygiene first
  • An individual first-aid kit with a set of the most necessary medicines.
Perhaps this reminder is superfluous, but let's play it safe. Even if you do not have a tendency to motion sickness, then you should take something from this trouble. It is possible that your neighbors are not so persistent and it will be interesting for you to observe the pale face in the neighborhood, which is about to…
  • Light blanket (plaid). Even in summer, it will come in handy, because when the air conditioner is on, especially at night in a light summer clothes you risk freezing.
  • Portable charger for phone, tablet, laptop.
Since there is nothing special to do on the road, after the bones are washed by all the friends and the political solidarity of the team is indicated, you just want to hang on the net or watch a movie.
Even if you took a 200% charged smartphone with you, it will show the minimum charge very quickly. In this case, the so-called (Power Bank) will help you and your neighbors. The larger its capacity, the better. If you don't have it, ask your friends before the trip.
  • Pillow.
For example, an inflatable in the shape of a horseshoe. The standard headrest, as we know, is not for sleeping at all - it has other functions.

2. What to wear on a bus trip.

Loose clothes in which it will be comfortable to spend many hours in almost the same position.
Nothing restricting movement. Avoid wearing tight jeans and similar clothing.
Something cotton or linen.

3.Where sits on a long trip on the bus.

As a rule, in modern buses, passengers sit on the second floor.
The first floor is occupied by "technical" needs.
A good overview, comfortable seats, efficient air conditioning - all this is on the "upper tier". But not everywhere.
Most comfortable places- front.
Due to the fact that the driver is somewhere below, closer to the wheels, the front seats on the second floor offer a wonderful view of the road. And this is not only interesting, but also good for health - less motion sickness.

Bad places in this sense are at the tail of the bus, where you will be most prone to seasickness.
Although in the rear seats, if the cabin is not completely filled, you can lie down to your full height. Almost like in a reserved seat.

4. Avoid night travel.

This applies to more sightseeing tours.
If you are just driving far distance, then spending the night at a hotel will lengthen your journey by at least twice.
But even in this case, it is possible to offer the option of taking the bus not from the place of residence, although this may be more convenient, but to go the longest possible way by train and after that transfer to the bus.

In the case of a trip, for example, to Europe, it can be recommended to get to the border by rail, and from there already start by bus. However, if health allows and time is limited, then the option “immediately got on the bus and went” is quite acceptable.

5. Keep up with the bus.

Oddly enough, but to see the bus leaving without you is not such a fantasy.
Therefore, if you are traveling alone, then arrange with someone that you will control each other when leaving the next stop.

And even if you go together, then the option to lag behind is also possible if you two go out.
So don't lose visual contact with the bus and keep a "reliable person" in the cabin.

About, in fact, what should and what should not be taken from things with you when going on a bus tour of Europe.

A lot of tourists, and especially people going on a trip for the first time, are worried about the question "What to take with you on a bus tour?" The first time I went to, I also asked myself this question and naturally picked up a lot of things that were absolutely unnecessary to me, which really interfered with me throughout the journey. And to be completely frank, I studied an article in one of the sections of my tour operator's website, something like " Helpful Hints going on a bus tour for the first time"... In general, only after returning from the trip did it become absolutely clear to me what was obviously superfluous in my luggage and what was clearly missing. So how would I get together so as not to take anything extra? A little lower, I will try point-by-point, detailed and as reasonably as possible to state your thoughts on what you need and what you don’t need to take with you on a bus tour of Europe.

What should be taken?

  • Suitcase. I won’t talk too much about bag suitcases, not every tourist will buy a special suitcase for this or that trip. Many generally take them from friends or relatives. The only thing worth noting is the size of your suitcase. For example, taking a bag that is not large enough (I always travel with a bag), I ran into the problem of a lack of space for things purchased on a trip (souvenirs, clothes, booze) and I had to buy another small bag in Luxembourg. After at the station, I saw similar bags with many tourists. Therefore, the problem exists, however, already on the train I got rid of my excess baggage, by destroying French wines, Polish beer and sausages. In addition to the suitcase (bag) that I have to put in the luggage compartment, I always take with me on a trip either a backpack or a small bag over my shoulder for documents, a phone and other small things. What time did it turn out about the suitcases, but I wanted to make it short :)
  • Documentation. Passport, medical insurance, copies of the passport and medical insurance, international driver license(Yes, just in case). You do not need to take a civil passport! The accompanying person usually distributes documents related to the trip (as part of a group) on the train, during an air flight when meeting at the airport.
  • Money. I took on food and other small expenses at the rate of 50 euros a day, I ate well - I did not deny myself anything. In any case, everything that remains from the "per diem" 50 euros remains with you. If you plan to make any specific purchases, estimate their cost and add 100 euros to it. The cost of souvenirs can also be estimated - just write down / remember who and what you would like to give as a keepsake of your European trip, for example, the average cost of souvenir key chains is 5 euros, magnets - 3.5 euros.
  • bank card . I always take Visa or MasterCard with me abroad - they accept it everywhere in Europe except Terespol (Poland) - for some reason there is only cash? The card will be very convenient in those countries where their own currency is used, for example, Poland, in which you can pay in euros, but at an extremely high rate.
  • Cloth. There is not much advice here, especially for women. In a camp where you wake up for more than one day, you can go to a public laundry (there are definitely in Paris, Brussels, Berlin) - it's inexpensive, they wash cars quickly. When I went on tour at the very end of October, I took with me: an autumn jacket, some jeans, a hoodie, a long sleeve shirt, four T-shirts, two pairs of shoes, four pairs of socks, four sets of underwear, a hat, a tippet, gloves.
  • Gadgets. Player, headphones, PSP, laptop, camera, phone, plus chargers for all the devices you take with you. But not all this at once, there is simply not enough time to use it all!
  • first aid kit. A first aid kit is mandatory and each traveler has his own equipment. I always take remedies for headaches, allergies, indigestion, colds, plus a band-aid for legs that may have been worn out by long-term wearing of shoes. Medicines in Europe are expensive, so it's easier to take two or three tablets - it won't take up much space!
  • Paste and brush, shaving accessories. I always take a brush, paste, machine, shaving foam and nail clippers with me.
  • Napkins. Normal and wet ones are better, plus hand gel in such small 30 ml vials is sold.
  • Sunglasses. Very necessary after sleepless nights and during long journeys in the bus, there are, of course, curtains, but then you won’t stare out the window!
  • Knife. Sometimes it is very necessary, you can take small folding scissors.
  • Water. In principle, it is sold in shops, vending machines, tents, hotels, as well as in all bus stops.
  • Food on the train. Roundtrip. Back I, of course, bought in Poland. On the plane, food and alcohol are distributed. Food on the bus (muesli bars, nuts).
  • I also took: pen, notebook, guide to Paris.

What not to take on a bus tour!

  • Slippers. I did quite well without them, but in principle, you can take flip flops!
  • Neck pillow. Personally, the idea of this thing is not clear to me - I am sitting sleeping with my head down!
  • Plaid. The buses are equipped with all modern heating/cooling systems; old buses are simply not allowed into Europe. As a last resort, if you are so cold, put on outerwear!
  • Umbrella. Even in the autumn, winter and spring seasons, an umbrella in Europe is not required at all. It will be easier to take a plastic raincoat (you can buy several so as not to dry) or buy it in a store in Poland.
  • hair dryer. I don’t need it at all, in hotels from three stars * it is present in the room.
  • Kettle/boiler. If you want to save money and are going to eat exclusively tea, instant coffee, dry soups and cereals and only in your room, then you will need these things. I personally took an electric kettle with me (don't think about it, I took a small kettle - two hundred grams), although I used it only twice. In principle, there are tanks with boiling water in the lobby of many hotels, but they all work until a certain time.
  • Towel. Unless you dry yourself with someone else's towels, and so on the train a towel is included in the cost of a compartment, in all European hotels from three stars* they are changed daily.
  • Soap. If you don't care what kind of soap you use, then you can not take it - in hotels from three stars * it is put on a daily basis.
  • Shampoo and shower gel. Both are in all European hotels from three stars*.
  • Toilet paper . There are in all trains and hotels, in extreme cases there are napkins.
  • Adapter for euro-socket. Sockets in Europe are the same as ours! If you are heading to England, then an adapter is needed!

That seems to be all, did not forget anything? It is possible that some things like hair combs, for example, I did not mention, I think that people who need such accessories will not forget them themselves. If I remember about some other thing that is extremely necessary in the bus tour, I will definitely add it! And once again I will make a reservation that we are talking about a bus tour and specifically about a European trip. And I do not exclude that in other countries (on other continents), some of the "extra" things above, on the contrary, will be very much in demand!

* At least in all European hotels where I have stayed.

I continue the topic and literally publish the article of such an avid traveler that I liked:

Shoes, shoes, and more shoes! Two, three, even four pairs for different weather and mood. Trampled, ugly, but proven - not threatening with bloody blisters. The most heartbreaking impression of all my trips is when a group that ran around Budapest the day before gets off the bus in Vienna with joyful anticipation, and one tourist remains sitting on the bus and waiting for the wounds on her legs to heal: she bought new sandals before the trip, it seemed comfortable. Imagine: in Vienna, do not get out of the bus for 8 hours, just hobble to the nearest shoe store!

Everything else is in second place in importance: and pillow for the head, And warm socks, which are so nice to wear on tired legs in the bus, and a boiler, and a hair dryer - all this will give the trip maximum comfort, but the beauty of Prague or Paris will not fade if you forget something at home! (I agree with everything, except for a boiler and a hairdryer. A boiler is certainly not needed, since the bus stops quite often - you won’t starve))) It’s better to eat at a roadside cafe. Yes, and there is a hairdryer in any, even a seedy hotel - if not in the room, then ask at the reception and they will always give it. Do not carry extra things with you. Here the author writes further: Yes, and you can buy on the way - tea, you are not going to the Arctic.

By the way, about the Arctic: nevertheless, provide for weather disasters, grab a couple of warm clothes, regardless of the season. If you hope that "it's warm in Italy in September", then you risk freezing not only in Poland on the way back, but also in Italy itself. (By the way, it is! I personally "lucky enough" to die in Venice in mid-June Italian summer!! The weather deteriorated sharply, rolled heavy rains and it got colder to +12 brrrr). From the story of the travel agency manager: when choosing a route, the lady strictly and demandingly asks: "Can you guarantee that it will be warm in Italy in September?"

Before every time I get on the bus, I have painful thoughts: what to leave in the bag that I put in the trunk of the bus, and what to take with you to the salon in a separate package. Mug, camera, film, mineral water bottle- it is necessary. And also: umbrella and sweater, even if there is a debilitating heat (and what if the weather deteriorates in 3 hours), one more film (and what if it’s not enough), one more bottle of non-mineral water (to maintain intellectual contacts with neighbors), a guidebook, a map. (Now, of course, most people no longer have film cameras, so stock up on memory cards so as not to rush around the city in search of an Internet cafe, in order to urgently transfer photos to a USB flash drive, upload them to a netbook, etc. Take two 16G memory cards with you - that's definitely enough! And take two batteries- one sits down, immediately change it to a freshly charged one and continue to take pictures and shoot videos. As for water, that's right! Be sure to stock up on a couple of bottles of water, because the next stop, as we already know, will be in about 3 hours, and you will definitely want to drink during this time. But to the point that it’s stronger - somehow I don’t remember that someone drank such strong drinks in our bus))) In any case, contact with neighbors can be made with the help of sweets and interesting stories Oh yeah, and you definitely need a sweater! In the bus, after all, the air conditioner works "for glory", sometimes without a warm jacket you can get very cold!).

If I managed not to forget anything, I am proud of my experience and forethought during the whole move, I keep in touch. As a result, having gone on a many-hour excursion, I forget something really necessary (the same photographic film) already in the passenger compartment of the bus. Yes, if you are going to move at night, do not forget to bring washing and shaving accessories to the salon.

Food - To take, not to take?

Even if you are not going to save on food, some kind of food supply still does not hurt. Sometimes a walk along unfamiliar city it can be so intoxicating that it’s just a pity to spend half an hour on a cafe, even if there is a long journey ahead. This is where a slice of bread with some raw smoked products will help out. And the boiler in the bus is at your service - here you can brew "doshiraki" (don't mind me!), And drink coffee. One tourist ran to the boiler with a huge mug, spreading the aroma of borscht. And what about health! That's what smokers definitely need to stock up on in Moscow - it's cigarettes! The prices are outrageous even in cheap Poland.

(Well, I will express my opinion here as well. Apparently, the article was written 10 years ago, because even on my bus tour there was an excellent bus - with hot water! So, the boiler is definitely not needed anymore - hot water I have always been on the bus. The only thing is that, of course, it ends, and someone has to wait until the next batch heats up. But it's not scary. As they say, take the queue and you will have hot water)) Well, for any doshiraks - right: no, no, and again no! Instead, take fresh fruits and vegetables or dried fruits: for example, figs and dried apricots - they perfectly satisfy the feeling of hunger. And there, it’s already close to the stop, where you can have a good meal in a cafe. The main thing is not to overdo it with prunes (if you want to take it as a snack with dried fruits), because it is an excellent laxative)).

Bus tours in Europe have long occupied their large-scale niche in the domestic market of tourist services. Many of our fellow citizens, mostly those who are especially easy-going and prone to pleasant adventures (which, by the way, I include myself in), are happy to go on sightseeing-rich and quite easy for the wallet trips to the most different countries the world (Europe in particular).

So, what to take with you on the road?

For maximum comfort on the bus, your luggage must have a small pillow (the most convenient is an inflatable one in the shape of a crescent). In the cold season, do not forget to take a blanket.

Shoes should be comfortable, as you have to walk a lot. For cool evenings, it is worth taking warm clothes, for bad weather - a windbreaker and an umbrella. Hats in winter, sunglasses in summer. After all, as the Scandinavians say: “No bad weather, there is only the inability to properly adapt to it.

To take a shower in the hotel you need to take rubber slippers(Vietnamese). It should also be noted that soap and towels are usually present in all hotel rooms, but the iron, hair dryer and shampoo are not issued in all hotels. True, your own towel and bathing suit will come in handy if your tour program includes visiting baths or water parks.

Before you travel, be sure to create your personal first aid kit with medicines that you usually use. Very useful also wet wipes for hands.

From products it is best to take dry soups, vegetables, fruits, sliced bread, cheese and vacuum-packed meat products, as well as tea bags, coffee, sugar.

In the hot season, we recommend taking your favorite refreshing beveragesmineral water, juices - for the entire route (5-10 liters per person), since they are much more expensive abroad. water in plastic bottles it will be possible to “store” in the luggage compartment of the bus, and you will not have to transfer your water supplies from hotel to hotel.

crockery it is best to take a light, unbreakable one. So that you can have a bite to eat and drink hot tea in the room, either a boiler or a small electric kettle (1-1.5 liters) will come in handy.

Don't forget all your charging device For mobile phones and cameras, as well as spare films, cassettes, flash cards and batteries (if necessary), as well as a player, a notebook and a pen. If you take another small bag, you will have no problem placing numerous purchases and souvenirs.

And most importantly, don't forget money. For personal needs (not counting optional excursions, which are better included in the amount of expenses in advance), it is recommended to carry at least 100 euros per person in Eastern Europe and at least 300 euros in Western Europe.

Oh, yes… and still try to take as few extra things as possible with you on the road (this already applies mainly to us, the fair sex), otherwise the endless transfers from hotel to hotel will turn your trip into a nightmare.

Towels you do not need to take with you, because they will be in every hotel, and there is no reason to take extra money.

hair dryer if you need a hair dryer, then you need to take it! it is not available in hotels.

What to take with you on the bus?

It is recommended that the general luggage be placed in several bags so that one, small and compact, can be taken with you on the bus. Perhaps it will be a very popular beauty case today, which is offered complete with a modern travel suitcase - it is not so important. The main thing is that the bag that you take to the cabin should contain the most necessary things on the bus, since access to luggage compartment will be difficult until arrival and check-in at the hotel.

Take a pillow with you, wet wipes, some groceries, a bottle of water, a magazine or a book, change slippers (you can use flip flops prepared for taking a shower), warm socks for the cold season, glasses.

By the way, for long journeys, it is better to choose clothes made from natural non-wrinkling fabrics and forget about jeans, because if you have to sit and recline for a long time in them, the road risks turning into a real hard labor.

How much money to take with you?

Approximately as much as the cost of your tour - this is a rough estimate. In more detail: You look at the tour program where excursions are described, as well as optional ones with an indication of their cost, you decide which ones you will participate in, and how much you can spend or save.

First of all, you expect such expenses as: payment for food, transport, entertainment, souvenirs, etc. For a full meal in most European countries, you should reserve about 12 € (Euro) per person, a dinner without alcohol can cost a little more - 15-20 €. In countries of Eastern Europe prices are usually 2 times lower. Hotels may not always be located within the city, so you need to put in your budget about 40 € for travel to public transport. The fare for public transport ranges from 0.8 to 5 €, depending on the country and city. The bus on which you are traveling takes you to the hotels, on which you make sightseeing and optional excursions. Free time You organize by own will and, of course, at your own expense. The tour operator from which you are traveling reserves the right to replace the hotel with an equivalent one and the order of excursions within the cost of the tour. The cost of entrance tickets to museums is from 2 to 20 €. The cost of tickets for concerts and performances is from 25 € and more. We recommend that you have at least 300-600 USD with you. for personal expenses, depending on the route you choose.

Total, add everything up and get the amount that you need to take with you!

You will also need to take more small money (euro) 1, 5 - this will allow you to buy souvenirs without any problems, and pay off!

money exchange system in Western Europe provides for commissions. So try to find exchange office with the inscription "No commission" (no commission), or ask about the "clean" exchange rate, only after that you can make an exchange.

How much alcohol and cigarettes can I take with me?

It is allowed to carry 2 liters of alcohol and 2 packs of cigarettes across the border from Ukraine (all things are checked at customs), 4 liters of alcohol per person can be imported into Ukraine.- it is best to put alcohol andcigarettes from the top, so they won't check every item at the border. Although they can - especially on the Hungarian border.
