Jomtien Beach - All Pattaya Beaches. When to visit the beach

Definitely best in summer. The warm sea and the bright sun are an integral part of the holiday for most. Coming to rest, many, forgetting about everything, immediately run to the beach to bask, swim and sunbathe. In pursuit of a beautiful uniform tan, it will not take long to get the opposite result. You have to know how to sunbathe. In order not to get the effect of “boiled cancer” instead of tanned chocolate skin, you should figure out when it is better to visit the beach and avoid common mistakes.

Who is the beach sun bad for?

Owners of thin, overly light skin, those who have a lot of moles on their bodies, especially big size, and age spots should be avoided exposure to direct sunlight. Such people are prone to burns. In addition, ultraviolet rays can provoke the development of much more serious diseases in them. It is best for such people to spend time in the shade under a canopy or umbrella.

The best time for the beach

So, what is the best watch for safe time on the beach? The best thing morning from 7 am to 11 am and evening from 4 pm to 7 pm, at this time the sun is most safe and the risk of getting burns is significantly reduced.

In the period from 12 to 15 o'clock in the afternoon the sun is at its maximum activity, so you should spend this time in the shade.

Going to the beach in the morning or evening hours is an individual choice for everyone. In the morning, the air and sand are less hot, this time will be more comfortable for those who do not really like the sun and for visitors with small children.

Sunburn hazard

Sunburn should not be taken as a small nuisance on vacation, its consequences can be very serious. Redness, pain, fever, swelling - not all that you can get by overheating in the sun. Without having time to produce melanin, the skin cannot protect itself from ultraviolet rays and end up getting burned. Under the influence of the sun, the skin ages, coarsens, and its excessive exposure increases the risk of skin cancer, the formation of a malignant tumor.

Precautionary measures

Being on the beach, it is not only the skin that needs to be protected from the effects of sunlight. You will also have to worry about protecting your hair and eyes. For the face, you should choose a separate product in the form of a special cream, foam or cream. It is better to put your hair in a bun and hide it under a hat or panama.

By following these simple rules, you can easily get a beautiful chocolate tan, which will be a pleasant reminder of the rest and the sea throughout the summer. Everything is good in moderation, and requires a reasonable approach. It is impossible to get a beautiful tan in a couple of days, which cannot be said about heat stroke and burns. First of all, you should always take care of your health and then the desired even tan and a pleasant impression of the rest are guaranteed to last for a long time.

With the onset of the holiday season, the editors of the Pravoslavie i Mir portal were bombarded with questions about beach holidays. Can the Orthodox go to the beach in ordinary bathing suits, will this be a reason for the temptation of others?

We turned to the priests for clarification.

Archpriest Alexander Avdyugin, rector of the Holy Spirit Church in the village of Rebrikovo and the chapel of St. rights. Joachim and Anna in the city of Rovenki, Luhansk region.

The difference between the Orthodox sunbathing and swimming, as for me, is only in the presence of a cross on the neck, not too flashy bathing suit in the places where it should be, the absence of a cigarette in the teeth, alcohol in the brain, slang and curses in the language.

I don’t see anything seductive in a beautiful body, if this body is not served “with temptation” ...

Are you tempted? Don't go, don't look. Sit at home and sunbathe on the balcony.

A person is perfection, and if there is no lust in the eyes and mind of a perfect person, then he will admire beauty and thank God.

Theory: "No matter what happens" - a receipt for one's own spiritual imperfection and a pretext for further requirements, such as: to be thrown out of museums and treasuries of the human mind and creativity Greek sculpture, painting by great artists, adding for complete "dispassion" and most literary, coupled with musical, works.

So I don’t see the “peculiarities of the Orthodox beach experience”. There are none. The problem is invented for those who have nothing else to think about.

There is only one question that I cannot yet answer, neither to you nor to myself.

The fact is that no matter what clothes I wear, you can’t hide your priestly essence and you somehow feel incomprehensibly on the beach when a beautiful creature in a bathing suit approaches you and, folding your hands like a boat, asks:

- Bless, father!?

Priest Andrei Kordochkin, Doctor of Theology, Rector of the Parish of the Nativity of Christ in Madrid.

“Father, is it possible to go to the beach? How about sunbathing in a bathing suit? Isn't that a sin?

When I am asked a question, before I give an answer, I try to understand who is asking me a question and why he is doing it.

And if the questioner (however, the flirtatiousness of the question betrays rather the questioner) is beyond the age or dimensions within which someone can be seduced by something, it’s my turn to ask the question: is the chastity of questioning a screen for the spirit of hypocrisy, hypocrisy, condemnation or just envy of those who are younger and more beautiful?

However, suppose that we are talking about a willingness to demonstrate a beautiful antique torso or a bust of Venus.

Don't be fooled. In the paintings of the ancient masters, St. Anthony is attacked by young virgins, but now the body is much more accessible, and therefore much less attractive - is this not the reason for the flourishing of homosexual culture? I have witnessed many times how preoccupation with the alleged attention of others to the beauty of one's body was caused by sexual dissatisfaction and lack of demand to a greater extent than chastity.

“Each person sees in others what he has learned about himself in spiritual experience, therefore a person’s attitude towards his neighbor is a sure indicator of the degree of self-knowledge he has achieved,” wrote Archimandrite Sofroniy Sakharov.

“Someone lost his ax somehow. He thought of his neighbor's son. Looking at how he walked, he was convinced that he had the gait of an ax thief. His face also looked like the one who stole an axe. He spoke like someone who had stolen an axe. All his deeds and actions were exactly the same as those of the one who stole the ax. But then he undertook to dig in a ravine and found his ax. The next day, when he looked again at the neighbor's son, neither in his movements nor in his appearance did he find anything resembling one who had stolen an axe. His neighbor's son has not changed, he has changed. He changed in the sense that his doubts disappeared… One Lao Dan comprehended this completely. He was left to rise alone like a mighty tree, having renounced worldly cares and not striving for anything external.

In any case, immersion under water can only tempt fish and marine "reptiles, which are innumerable" (Ps. 103.25). But with lying on the beach you should be more careful. My neighbor downstairs, a nurse at the hospital, was talking to me yesterday about how much Lately the number of oncological diseases (including skin cancer), especially among young people. Is a bronze tan worth the chemo and radio therapies, surgeries and painful death?

Take care, dear ones.

Priest Dionysius Svechnikov answers

So the long-awaited summer has come, and with it long-awaited vacation. The people are moving south. Sea, sun, hot sand - what else is needed for have a nice rest? Stop, stop!!! Is everything as simple as it seems? It turns out that it doesn't.

Should an Orthodox Christian dress in some special way on the beach? Can he or she wear regular bathing suits? Is it necessary to develop, like Muslims, the direction of Orthodox beachwear, bathing dresses, closed clothing? Isn't wearing a swimsuit on the beach a temptation for other people? So many questions and no answers. So I propose to reflect on the topic of the Orthodox beach fashion. Someone will be surprised to see the stated topic, someone will wince, someone will laugh. Why not? If there are questions, there must be answers. If there is a problem, then there must be a solution.

Honestly, when I was asked to tell something on this topic, at first this idea seemed to me very ungrateful. It is worth saying that ordinary bathing suits are quite acceptable for the Orthodox, then you can expect a hail of stones in your garden from "special zealots of piety." And if I say that the Orthodox should bathe in long clothes that completely hide the body, then they will be accused of copying Muslim beachwear or being too picky, which, most likely, will lead to a total offense against me for many girls and women, including Orthodox. But nothing can be done, you have to look for the "golden mean".

Strictly speaking, neither canons nor rules Orthodox Church they do not regulate the issue of beachwear in any way. The Church simply never thought about this issue.

There are some general guidelines regarding the dress of a Christian woman. Let's turn to the Holy Scriptures. The Apostle Paul points out that “wives, in decent attire, with modesty and chastity, adorn themselves not with braided hair, not with gold, not with pearls, not with clothes of great value, but with good works, as is fitting for women who devote themselves to godliness” (1 Tim. 2 , 9-10). There is also an indication that “every woman who prays or prophesies with an open head shames her head” (1 Cor. 11:5), therefore Orthodox Christian women are called to pray with their heads covered.

Everything is very clear and does not require unnecessary thought. It is also well known that a woman should be in the temple not only with her head covered, but also in a skirt. Although regarding the skirt, the issue is quite controversial. Many opponents of trousers refer to the canons forbidding a woman to wear men's clothing. But the trousers that modern women wear have nothing to do with men's wardrobe.

Try dressing the man in women's trousers or jeans. And laughter and sin will turn out. But I still consider myself an opponent of trousers in the temple.

I have my own arguments for this. Every place has a certain type of clothing. They go to secular receptions in suits and evening dresses, to the stadium in a sports suit, it is more convenient to climb mountains in special clothes, and the military only go to the service in uniform. Also, a certain kind of clothing, which has been described above, befits the temple. And there is no point in favor of someone's desire to deviate from the ancient pious traditions.

But lest they think that I am talking only about women's clothing, then I’ll say that men can’t be naked in the temple either. No tank tops, shorts, breeches.

The main rule is that clothes for visiting the temple should be modest, because. we go to the temple for a humble meeting of our soul with God, and not for a demonstration of outfits.

The conversation about clothes that befits a certain place should be continued with regard to beachwear. It is well known that beachwear is a swimsuit for a woman and swimming trunks for a man. Not a bathrobe, not a dress, not trousers, but a swimsuit or swimming trunks. This is the generally accepted norm. But it is quite possible to talk and argue about the shapes, cuts and other details of beachwear. After all, in fact, the entire controversy on this issue sooner or later rests precisely on what cut and form of beachwear is acceptable for Orthodox Christians.

If a woman comes to the temple in a bathing suit, then it will be madness, and she will simply be thrown out of the temple. It will be just as crazy if she starts sunbathing on the beach in a long skirt or sundress.

If someone thinks that wearing a swimsuit on the beach is indecent, then let him not go to the beach. We all live in society and must abide by the rules established in society, unless they contradict our Orthodox worldview and do not hurt our religious feelings.

Muslim beachwear for women can be cited as an example. It is a hooded hoodie made of opaque material. All according to the rules of Islam. And they are there, in Islamic countries swim without problems. Is it possible to come up with such clothes for Orthodox Christians? Maybe someone has already figured it out:

But I don't like this bathing suit. This, of course, is my subjective opinion and, perhaps, such a costume seems insanely beautiful to someone. And I don’t like it for one simple reason - it looks more like some strange hybrids of sports tights and loose-fitting tunics than a swimsuit. To the gym, to the mountains, to the country - quite. But why go to the beach?

And in general, why reinvent the wheel when a closed one-piece women's swimsuit has long been created? And if you add a beautiful pareo in color to it, it will look quite modest and pretty.

Well, who does not want a closed swimsuit and a pareo, then he may well get some kind of bathing suit from the above series. I think neither one nor the other will sin by appearing on the beach in this form.

Once again, I would like to emphasize that the clothes of an Orthodox Christian, including beach clothes, should be, first of all, modest. Therefore, you should not defile along the beach in some kind of revealing swimsuit, which will look more like strings with attached handkerchiefs designed to cover bashful parts of the body. Needless to say, they do not cover much, and passions still run high.

By the way, here we come to passions. They rage in modern world in earnest, and modern fashion for the most part is aimed precisely at further inciting them.

At the beginning of my answer, the problem was voiced - is it not tempting for other people to wear a swimsuit on the beach? It's time to remember the words of the Savior: “Woe to the world because of temptations, for temptations must come; but woe to that person through whom the stumbling block comes” (Matthew 18:7). Will an Orthodox woman in a bathing suit be a temptation for a man? I will say this: even a tightly closed Orthodox woman can become a temptation for a man. Even looking at a beautiful woman's face can be a temptation. And for the male imagination, inflamed from sin, fornication, it is enough just to look at the female silhouette in order to mentally sin. And what now - do not walk the streets, knowing that there may be some womanizer or a pervert nearby?

Returning to the topic of a swimsuit, it is worth noting that a woman or a girl in a closed swimsuit will not attract the attention of men and will not be any particular temptation compared, for example, with a girl in a revealing swimsuit defiling along the beach in search of a potential boyfriend.

And in the end, even if for some man a girl in a closed swimsuit serves as a temptation and he decides to approach her in order to get acquainted with the subject of “continuing the relationship”, then you can always simply refuse to get acquainted. And knowing how some of our parishioners can sting with a caustic word or look, one can only imagine what a failed boyfriend will feel at the moment of refusal. I think he will develop a persistent allergy to Orthodox Christian women in closed swimsuits.

In general, there is nothing to climb into someone else's monastery with your charter.

Something I bypassed the side of men. Forgive me, dear ones, not out of malice. Well, what should we do, what to wear on the beach? It is clear that not in a thong. Well, don't swim in jeans. Yes, there is nothing, again, to reinvent the wheel - there are a lot of swimming trunks of different cuts, someone even manages to swim in shorts. Choose to taste.

And it’s best to take your Orthodox wife, Orthodox children under the flank and quietly, in the Orthodox way, relax on the beach. Who has no family - no problem, you can relax with friends and also in the Orthodox way - without drinking, without swearing, without fights. Then the "adventurers" will not be up to harassment and temptations.

Well, if we are to be honest to the end, then let everyone's own conscience, the voice of God in the soul of a person, be the criterion for choosing a bathing suit. I think this is the end of this endless conversation about Orthodox beach fashion.

In the piggy bank of a large review "All the beaches of Pattaya", today a new article about Jomtien Beach.
Jomtien Beach is by far the most popular beach tourists in Pattaya, if only because there are a lot of good and affordable housing on
the first line of the sea and the surrounding area, as well as, the Jomtien beach has a very developed infrastructure, which makes the Jomtien area very attractive
for travelers.
So, what is Jomtien Beach like? Can I swim on it, what can I ride, is Jomtien beach suitable for children and what
does he personally take the line in my ranking of Pattaya beaches?

Pattaya Jomtien Beach - photo

The turn to Jomtien Beach starts from Thappraya Street in Pattaya, where regular songthaews run, and the popular Foodmart is also located.

If you turn to Jomtien in this way, then on your right at the sea line there will be and on the left Jomtien beach begins.

Jomtien Beach stretches for many kilometers and has a fairly wide coastline, when compared, for example, with or .

Can you swim at Jomtien Beach?

You can, of course, and many swim. As you can see in the photo, there are always enough people. There is no desert here.
Jomtien is very fond of Thais and hang out here until late, arriving by car, laying out full program with food, music and drinks for the whole day.

The opinions of tourists regarding Jomtien Beach vary polarly. Some are fine, others run away in horror, never to return.
Well, it's dirty, yes. Especially during storms, when all kinds of garbage from ships and oil stains from boats wash ashore.

Although, to be honest, there is enough garbage here even without storms, despite the fact that there are always containers near the beach, on the footpath.
Almost no one bothers to bring papers or empty bottles to the trash, that's the dirt.

Pattaya authorities seem to be actively engaged appearance and the reputation of the city, with the aim of transforming and purifying Pattaya, making it even more
attractive to tourists, but these "Augean stables" are still rowing and rowing. And without the participation of the tourists themselves and the residents of the city, it is useless to persist here.
Let us recall at least the initiative to make, which failed miserably, never having begun.

I won’t write in detail about condos and hotels near Jomtien beach now, I’d rather devote it to this separate article. But in short, housing is here
for every taste and budget. From cheap bedbugs for 150-200 baht to luxury condos where rent starts from only 20,000 baht per month.

There are no popular chain cafes and hotels in Jomtien. At least I don't remember anything. from the series - Jomitien Palm Beach, Jomitien Beach Condotel, Jomitien Garden and so on.

Popular condos on Jomtien Beach are View Talay (5, 7), as well as Jomitien Beach Condotel, Atlantis (second Jomitien), Paradise Park, Gallery (Na Jomitien).

Infrastructure of Jomtien Beach

Jomtien Beach has everything the same as on other beaches in Pattaya. Sun loungers with umbrellas - from 40 baht.

Wednesday in Pattaya - a day without sunbeds, remember, otherwise you will have to hang out in a common pile

Water activities - scooters, circles for swimming, speed boat rental, banana.

You can always have a bite to eat or get a massage right there, without leaving anywhere.

delicious crabs - yum yum!

I would give Jomtien Beach a solid 3. From the pluses, in my opinion, there is a walking path, on which even on a hot day the breeze and shade blow, you can
walk with the baby in the stroller.

And the infrastructure around. Although there seems to be an abundance of cafes and restaurants, it is really not clear where to go. The prices are quite high for Pattaya, there are no networkers, immediately
difficult to navigate. You need to search, know the places or order shrimp.

There are a lot of cons at Jomtien Beach. Starting from - dirty, ending with the fact that it's crowded. That's all I wanted to tell you today.

How to save money on a hotel or apartment on vacation?

I'm looking on the Rumguru website. It contains absolutely all discounts on hotels and apartments from 30 booking systems, including booking. Often I find very profitable options, it turns out to save from 30 to 80%

Holidays without a hat can end in sunstroke

If you can't be idle for long and the banal sunbathing on the shore seems boring to you, then you can take some magazine or favorite book and entertain yourself with outdoor reading. The main thing is not to get carried away by the plot and turn over to the other side in time, otherwise sunburn You are guaranteed.

No matter what age your children are, when going to the beach, you need to carefully consider what will the child do besides bathing, what is he eats and what personal items must be taken with you. If you treat the preparation for the holiday with all responsibility, then it will surely please both adults and children.

For a child, you need to take the following things:

  • several diapers (for children under one year old)
  • wet wipes
  • some water
  • food for the baby (what exactly - depends on the age of the crumbs: very small children should be fed at home and the duration of the beach holiday must be calculated so that the child does not want to eat before returning home. For older children you can take a banana or baby biscuits)

Remember that children should not long time play in the open sun, so arrange for them to play under a beach umbrella.

What should not be taken to the beach?

Except perishable food and alcohol, there are other things that will be superfluous or inappropriate on the beach. First of all, because they can carry any direct or indirect danger or they will simply be an extra burden that you will have to drag in vain.

If there is no personal car, then pack the bag to a minimum

Undesirable list of beach accessories:

  • money
  • gold jewelry
  • passport and other important documents
  • Expensive telephone(if you are relaxing alone, then you will have to leave it on the shore, which can lead to the loss of an expensive gadget)
  • heeled shoes(Yes, and in our time there are young ladies who plow the sand with stiletto sandals)
  • sweets and salty foods(this food will increase thirst, and edema may appear from pickles in the evening)
  • medicines(besides, if you are taking any medications, you should discuss with your doctor the advisability of prolonged exposure to the hot sun)

Leave at home what you can do without

Relax on the beach- this is one of the best pastimes with benefits for your health. Follow the advice above and then this type of recreation will be pleasant and will bring only positive emotions, and all the necessary things at hand will provide proper comfort.
