Learned information about how to fly cheap to thailand. We will tell you how much a ticket to Thailand costs, when it is better to buy it and how to get to Thailand on your own without spending a lot of money.

The article is written primarily for travelers who plan to fly to Thailand on their own, and not go on a tour. It will be useful both for those traveling one way and for those who are interested in round-trip tickets.

Let's start!

To search and compare prices, we personally use flight search engines - Aviasales and Skyscanner. There are enough of them to find the lowest ticket prices to Thailand, in addition, both sites have convenient functionality that facilitates the search (price calendars, ticket price statistics, etc.)

  1. Where is the cheapest place to fly?

1. Where to fly the cheapest

Direct flights from Russia to Thailand are carried out only in two directions - to Bangkok and Phuket. It is to these cities that it is cheapest to fly - both direct flights and flights with transfers.

Airplanes fly to Bangkok more often and, as a rule, tickets are cheaper. Phuket, in general, is more expensive to get to, but there are often options for flights with the approximate same price as to Bangkok.

What if I want to go to another resort?

Some Thai resorts can be reached by purchasing a separate ticket for domestic flight- so you can fly to Koh Samui, Krabi, etc.

Other cities can be reached by land (for example, a transfer from Bangkok to Pattaya takes only 2 hours).

2. The cost of tickets to Thailand from Moscow and St. Petersburg

The cheapest tickets to Bangkok usually fall on January-May, and to Phuket - from February to June.

2.1 Direct flights

Direct flights between Moscow and Phuket are operated by Aeroflot, Azur Air And Nordwind Airlines, and in Bangkok - only Aeroflot and THAI Airways.

At the same time, it is unlikely that it will be possible to fly to Thailand inexpensively: direct flights are usually 20-30% more expensive than flights with transfers.

From Moscow to Bangkok

Prices for flights from Moscow to Bangkok start at 24,500 rubles, but most options start from 26,000-27,000 rubles.

From Moscow to Phuket

Tickets for direct flights to Phuket cost at least 29,000 rubles.

From Saint-Petersburg

It is impossible to fly to Thailand on a cheap direct flight from St. Petersburg: tickets to Bangkok cost from 40,000 rubles and, in general, appear on sale infrequently. Prices for a flight to Phuket start at 56,000 rubles.

2.2 Flights with transfers

For those who are looking for how to get to Thailand cheaply, the best option There will be a connecting flight. This is how most airlines fly, and finding such tickets is easier.

The following companies fly with transfers:

  • Qatar Airways - with a transfer in Doha (Qatar);
  • Etihad - change in Abu Dhabi (UAE)
  • Emirates and Flydubai - fly through Dubai (UAE)
  • China Southern - via Guangzhou (China)
  • Turkish Airlines - with a transfer in Istanbul (Turkey)
  • Finnair - Helsinki (Finland)
  • and some others

When choosing flights, pay attention to the duration of the transfer: sometimes you come across good-priced tickets, but with a travel time of 35-40 hours.

From Moscow

The cost of a flight from Moscow starts from 20,900 rubles, but the duration of the flight is not the most convenient (16-30 hours). At a price of 22,800 rubles, you can find options with a flight to Bangkok in 13-15 hours. Flying to Phuket will be 1000-2000 rubles more expensive.

From Petersburg

Tickets from St. Petersburg to Bangkok with transfers cost from 24,500 rubles, but for such a price, the flight time will be 18-20 hours or more. Prices for short flights start from 27,000-28,000 rubles.

You can find even cheaper tickets to Phuket (from 22,000 rubles), but good options cost about the same as before Bangkok.

For a more visual search for cheap flights, use the calendar:

  1. Look for tickets in advance- it is advisable to buy them 2-3 months before departure, and the search can be started even earlier. The closer to departure, the higher the price.
  2. Experiment with departure dates: ticket for neighboring dates sometimes it can be one and a half times cheaper.
  3. View airline promotions- they jump there good propositions. You can see them.
  4. Check tickets to other locations– cities in Thailand or nearest countries. Alternative option- watch tickets not from your city (even if there is an airport there), but from a nearby larger one (for the central part of Russia - from Moscow and St. Petersburg, for the regions - from Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, etc.). S7 Airlines has direct flights to Thailand from many cities in Siberia and the Far East.
  5. Keep track of ticket prices on the desired dates or range of dates through the aviasales service - as soon as the price drops, a notification about this will be sent to your mail. It is relevant if you started searching in advance and are ready to wait some time with the purchase.

A few nuances worth paying attention to:

  • a round-trip ticket usually costs 30-40% less than separate round-trip tickets
  • if you still decide to fly to Thailand with one ticket and return with another, remember that without a return ticket, Thai border guards may simply not let you into the country
  • the cost of the flight is usually higher when the tourist season is in Thailand - that is, in late autumn and winter
  • tickets for New Year's dates are always the most expensive of the year

3.1 Tickets through a third country

Sometimes you can fly to Thailand cheaper if you look for tickets through a third country - for example, Malaysia or Vietnam. The method often works for one-way tickets, but sometimes there are good round-trip options.

Low prices for tickets to a third country may be associated with the seasonality of holidays in it or with airline promotions for certain flight destinations.

In this case, you can fly cheaply, for example, to Kuala Lumpur, and from there get cheap tickets to Phuket through a low-cost airline. In total, such a flight can be cheaper than a direct ticket to Phuket.

In our experience, low-cost flights are easier to find on Skyscanner, but there are options on Aviasales.

Where to look for flights:

  • Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam)
  • Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
  • Hong Kong
  • Singapore

IN last time we saved money in this way: we flew to the north of Thailand and the flight to Bangkok cost more (22,000 rubles) than a ticket to Hong Kong (14,000 rubles) + a ticket from Hong Kong to Chiang Mai (6,000 rubles). In addition, we had the opportunity to see Hong Kong.

3.2 Tours and packages instead of tickets

Another tricky way to fly to Thailand cheaply is to buy not a ticket, but ready tour By direction. Sometimes the cost of a ticket (especially a last minute one) can be significantly lower than the price of a ticket for a regular flight. There are times when a ticket is cheaper than a one-way ticket.

The desire of many people to fly to Thailand cheaply is understandable, because it is the cost of air tickets that sometimes makes up to half of all expenses when relaxing in this country. Therefore, the opportunity to save on the cost of a flight is always relevant, and the following practical advice, allowing to achieve such savings, are very useful to all travelers without exception, not only to Thailand, but also to other countries of the world.

1. Purchasing a last-minute ticket for the sake of a ticket

To begin with, even for independent travelers who do not recognize package holidays, it is sometimes useful to look at last-minute offers from tour operators. I do not urge you to give up the feeling of freedom that gives independent rest, but in a situation where you are tormented by the question: - the cost of a last-minute tour, including air travel at a price lower than the cheapest regular flight deserves your attention.

This option assumes your consent to some inconveniences associated with the features and disadvantages of charter flights (I talked about this in more detail in the article), but when there is really little money, and you are reluctant to give up vacations abroad, the option is quite viable. After all, no one forces you to go on excursions and visit factories along with other "package" tourists.

You flew in together - fly back together, and during your vacation you can ride around the country on your own and live where you want. The main thing is to be prepared for the fact that the return flight can be rescheduled for more early time, "taking away" from you, thus, an extra day of rest at the resort. The tour usually includes medical insurance, and this is some savings. You can also save on meals (breakfasts) included in the price of the tour, but this is if you stay in a package hotel. Finally, in a paid package hotel room, you can store a suitcase, winter clothes, etc., while you yourself are traveling light around the country.

The main disadvantage of this option is the limited number of days of rest in the country. The most affordable last-minute tours usually last 7-10 days, which in my opinion is not enough. You can find last-minute trips for 15 days, but the price will no longer be so attractive compared to regular flights and the benefits of the latter. In addition, more and more independent travelers prefers to fly to Thailand cheaply for a longer period: three weeks, a month or several months.

Therefore, the option of buying a last-minute tour is suitable only for those who are willing to put up with the shortcomings of charters and do not plan to rest in Thailand for more than two weeks. In addition, during the high season, you can simply not find a suitable tour for the dates you are interested in. Although the situation is likely to be somewhat different: there will be burning tours themselves, but there will be no empty seats on the planes. Finally, this option is often relevant only for those who live in Moscow or have the opportunity to get to it cheaply, because the number of last-minute tours from other major cities often very limited.

2. Early purchase of a ticket for a regular flight

Everyone knows that most airlines today have a policy of establishing classes of service during the flight. However, not everyone knows that even within the most affordable, economy class, there is a division of tickets into several fares, depending on the possibility of making adjustments to the route (changing the time or date of departure, returning the ticket with compensation), baggage allowance, etc. At the same time, the number of tickets in each category is limited, and the cheapest ones are bought first. Therefore, do not be surprised at the trend that the closer the departure date, the more expensive the ticket will end up being: the most affordable seats are redeemed experienced travelers in advance.

When is it better to buy tickets for a regular flight in order to fly to Thailand as cheaply as possible? It all depends on the holiday season you choose in the country. I recommend starting your search for flights to Thailand 6 months in advance if you want to fly there during the peak of the high season and at least three months in advance, provided that the vacation is planned for the low season. More about tourist seasons in various cities and popular resorts countries can be found in the articles of the section. It is also necessary to take into account the number of airlines operating flights to Thailand from the airport of your choice: the fewer boards fly to Thailand daily, the Great chance that all cheap tickets will be redeemed in a few months.

In addition, in cases of searching for air tickets for the dates you are interested in for several airlines at once, I recommend using the search for all air carriers at once, and not individually on company websites. To do this, you can use the best meta-search for cheap air tickets from Aviasales in Runet today (the search form is placed on all pages of this site in the right column). The advantage of the service is the search immediately for 728 airlines in the world, 15 best ticket offices and five proven search engines. As a result of the fact that the service online searches for the lowest price for you on the selected dates, you always buy a ticket at the lowest possible fare and only from reliable agencies. Since the search and purchase of cheap flights today is an independent and very important topic, I talked about this in more detail in a separate article. By the way, this service is easy to find not only cheap flights, but also hotels at the best prices - again due to the fact that he is looking simultaneously in several search engines and gives the best price.

3. Flight to Thailand on special offers of airlines

Today, almost every self-respecting airline periodically arranges special offers: it distributes a limited number of air tickets at reduced prices. Due to the fact that the price of such flights can be quite “sweet”, I recommend subscribing to the newsletter of those airlines that fly to Thailand from the airports closest to your place of residence. Check your email inbox regularly and keep required amount money. Then you have a real chance fly to thailand cheap without sacrificing safety and comfort. Best Deals and promotions of airlines that allow you to fly to Thailand or other countries as cheaply as possible - always on (relevant primarily for Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and the Baltic states).

According to my observation, the largest number special offers affecting the Thai direction, it happens with Russian airline Aeroflot and popular airlines from the Gulf countries: Qatar Airways, Etihad and Emirates. Here I note that I mainly monitor the situation with flights from Moscow, Minsk and Kyiv, so the list of airlines from your region may be somewhat different. In the latter case, again, I advise you to use the search from Aviasales in order to get general information about which airlines generally fly to Thailand from the airport closest to you.

The option with special offers from airlines is very interesting, but it allows you to fly to Thailand cheaply only if you are satisfied with the dates. The essence of the majority special offers from airlines comes down to the fact that you must purchase an air ticket in a certain period of time and make the flight itself also in a certain time interval. For example, buy a ticket from June 10 to June 25 and fly from September 1 to September 30 (I took arbitrary dates, but I think the meaning is clear).

4. Last minute flights to Thailand

An option that, under certain conditions, allows you to fly to Thailand at the lowest price. Usage this option implies the ability to buy a ticket a few days before the trip, and sometimes on the day of departure. In this case, the rule applies: the closer the departure date, the cheaper the ticket can be. In order to find last-minute flights to Thailand, you do not need to call many tour operators: just go to the site exchange, where all current offers at attractive prices are usually presented not only to Thailand, but also to other destinations on one page.

In my opinion, this option is almost ideal for those who fly to Thailand for an indefinite period, because the cheapest charter tickets on this exchange are one-way, despite the fact that the cost of regular one-way flights is unreasonably high. As a rule, the cost of last-minute tickets on the Moscow-Bangkok or Moscow-Phuket route starts from $150 + payment of additional fees (in December 2013, the surcharges were $80-100, depending on the airline and the seller's commission). The most frequently offered charters are from Russian Aeroflot and Transaero with departures from Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo. When purchasing a last-minute one-way ticket, you must have in your passport thai visa. In addition, you will need to purchase return ticket already being in Thailand, so the option, although the cheapest, but not the easiest.

Personally, in the process of planning a trip to Thailand in January 2014, I wanted to use last-minute air tickets from Moscow. In December 2013, the prices were simply fabulous: from $250 round trip + 80 surcharge, i.е. the cost of air tickets Moscow-Bangkok-Moscow was only about $330. But in the end, I chose a regular Etihad flight and turned out to be right: in January there were no such prices, and it takes me more than a day to get to Moscow by several modes of transport, which is quite tiring and not at all budgetary.

As you can see, all the options discussed above, allowing fly to thailand cheap , have both their undeniable advantages and certain disadvantages. Moreover, certain options carry a significant amount of risk that there will be no cheap flights at all during the period of time you are interested in. Knowing all this, you must decide for yourself: buy a ticket in advance and be guaranteed to fly away to rest on a specific day, or take some risk. Choosing the second option, you get the opportunity to fly to Bangkok or Phuket as cheaply as possible, but there is a good chance that tickets will turn out to be unpleasantly expensive, and you will either have to put up with them high cost or reschedule the trip to another time.

201

I am often asked how to fly to Thailand cheaply, where to look for cheap tickets, and so on. In order not to answer every time, I decided to write a post about how I do it, so that later I can just give a link. Nothing supernatural, everything is very simple. For reference: I usually fly from Moscow, so it's a little easier for me than for residents of other cities. By the way, I also wrote separately about how it is possible, because it’s not obvious to everyone right off the bat, they ask.

The easiest way to fly to Thailand is to buy a ticket on regular flights in advance, 2-3 months before the trip. It is possible to start monitoring sites of ticket search engines earlier, or as aggregators are also called, but for this it is easier to subscribe to the mailing list of offers. But remember, not always the prices will be much lower if it is direct in advance.

Ticket finders

I always use 2 search engines, I see no reason to use something else. There are no flights they don't show. On such aggregators there are offers from all airlines and ticket agencies. No additional markups. Below is a block with current ticket prices.

I really like this calendar from AviaSales. In fact, you yourself don’t need to look for anything at all, just look at the desired month and then look in it for which dates it gives out the most inexpensive flight. But this, of course, is convenient for those who can later adjust to these dates.

Cheaper Options

  • When looking for cheap flights to Thailand, try comparing prices between flights. different cities. That is, see not only Moscow-Bangkok, but also Moscow-Phuket, maybe even St. Petersburg-Bangkok and St. Petersburg-Phuket. But usually the cheapest tickets are from Moscow and to Bangkok. Well, from the rest of Russia there are cheap tickets from Novosibirsk and Irkutsk. But do not forget about other cities besides the capitals, check just in case. Somehow I was looking for a ticket for a person and a good price turned out from Irkutsk to Chiang Mai, and cheaper than if I had flown to BKK, and then to Chiang Mai.
  • Probably, everyone understands where it is cheapest to fly from - from Moscow. But it would be more correct to say that it is not cheaper, but easier: more choice, more airlines, more often comes across something cheap. But from other large cities (Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok) there are also tickets for about the same cost. But if we talk specifically about cheapness, then here we will already talk about last-minute charters, which are easy to buy from Moscow (About charters below).
  • You can also try to fly to another country, such as Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and then fly to Thailand on the local low-cost AirAsia.com. By the way, I advise you to subscribe to the mailing list of offers from AirAsia, it will come in handy.
  • Always look for connecting flights. Most often they are cheaper than direct ones. Just do not forget to look at the transfer time, so as not to spend the night somewhere.
  • Try to play with dates, plus or minus a couple of days, or a week and the price can be very different.
  • If you buy a ticket at once and there and back, it will be cheaper than separately there and then back. But for those who travel for a long time and do not want to buy a return ticket, most likely it will not work, usually winterers do not know when they will fly home. There are tickets from open date but they are more expensive than regular ones.
  • Under New Year and during peak season tickets are more expensive (December-January-February). Therefore, during this period, you should not count too much on a cheap flight, only if there is some kind of promotion. Moreover, the return ones in the season (if you buy separately), usually more expensive than from Russia to Thailand.
  • Always check the price on the airline's website, in case it will be cheaper there.
  • A separate option is the airline Russia. They have tickets for ~ 6400 rubles one way in the direction of Moscow-Bangkok. Great price for a direct flight. Tickets must be purchased 14 hours before the flight. And in general, once every 2-3 months, Russia throws out cheap tickets. It also makes sense to look neighboring countries like Burma. From where, again, you can get to Tai on the same AirAsia.

Separately, I also want to mention that if you started monitoring tickets, then it makes sense to subscribe to the direction you need and then you will periodically receive offers in the mail. It is very comfortable! It is enough to monitor and see what the price will be for a couple of weeks, and then buy it. You can unsubscribe or change the direction of the flight at any time.

Prices

There have already been many flights, I'll try to list them. But you need to understand that every year the prices change a little. Either the dollar exchange rate will change, or there are no shares at all, or just like that. Well and in Lately, I often sin by buying tickets 1-2 weeks before the trip, so the prices are higher.

  • November 2018: Moscow-Bangkok-Moscow by Qatar with a transfer in Qatar for 32,000 rubles per person
  • February 2018: Moscow-Bangkok-Moscow on Aeroflot direct flight for 22,000 rubles / person (the promotion was)
  • January 2017: Moscow-Bangkok-Moscow on Aeroflot direct flight for 40500 rub/person
  • January 2016: Moscow-Bangkok-Moscow on Aerofolot without a transfer for 45,000 rubles per person
  • December 2015: Moscow-Phuket-Moscow by Emirates with a transfer in Dubai for 36,000 rubles per person
  • December 2013: Moscow-Bangkok on the regular Transaero one way without a transfer for 20,000 rubles per person
  • December 2012: Bangkok-Moscow on the S7 one way with a transfer in Novosibirsk S7 for 15,000 rubles per person
  • November 2010: Moscow-Bangkok on EgyptAir one way with a long transfer in Cairo for 12,500 rubles per person

The cheapest tickets to Thailand

Last minute charters

After the departure of Transaero from charter tickets everything has become much worse in terms of price. Aeroflot, nord wind, Royal Flight, Azur Air is rarely issued for real good prices. Russia has recently started flying and there are sometimes cheap one-way tickets. But so far, most often it is cheaper than a regular flight with a transfer, especially if you buy a round-trip ticket right away.

Remember the rule. You can fly from Thailand on a charter only if you also flew on a charter. At one time, no one checked this, but now, since 2017, they have. Perhaps, if the entry was by land (for example, after the Visaran), then this rule will no longer apply, but not a fact.

There is such a thing as hot tickets for charter flights. Their advantage is a direct flight. And the minus is that you have to fly out a couple of days after the purchase. Of course, this is not suitable for everyone, since the departure can occur a couple of days after the purchase of the ticket (although it can be a week later) and tickets are generally easier to find for departure from Moscow. So, if you are not tied to a date, then this is your option, you can save money (when compared with direct flights). Moreover, if you fly charters in countercurrent the main tourist masses (in spring to Thailand, in autumn to Moscow), then the cost will be really very low, I came across prices of 50-200 bucks one way.

Where to look for charters

Charter, first of all, is good because the ticket price is cheaper than for a similar flight, but not a charter one. And the second plus is a direct flight at the price of a regular one with a transfer (a direct regular flight will be much more expensive). Search essentially in two places mainly:

I have bought tickets on the stock exchange more than once. More precisely, the purchase did not take place on the exchange itself, because these are just text ads from travel agencies (you need to call the specified contacts). Alternatively, you can go to the sites of travel agencies themselves, they also have a section "Last-minute tickets".

Prices

It is now inconvenient to write at prices, because the exchange almost always indicates everything in dollars, and the rate has changed almost 2 times since 2015. But at the same time, the price of tickets in dollars decreased, and in rubles increased. That is, tickets in rubles have risen in price, but not twice, which is already good. In this regard, I will write you prices in rubles, so it will be clearer.

Below are examples of my charter flights. True, he always flew only in one direction and did not particularly fall into the cheapest options, rather average ones.

  • May 2014, Phuket-Moscow on Transaero for 17000 rubles/person
  • September 2013, Moscow-Bangkok on Transaero 15000 rub/person
  • April 2011, Bangkok-Moscow on Transaero, 12500 rub/person

I didn’t always buy the cheapest ones, because the dates also played a role. Literally fresh - Moscow-Phuket ticket for May 8, 2017 for 3900 rubles. There were other dates within a month, but I just returned from Thailand. Eh ... I want to cry from such prices, and why do I never get them? :) That is, in general, such prices are found, but rarely and you should not count on them.

By the way, a last-minute ticket does not always happen with a departure a couple of days after purchase. Last time, I even managed to issue after buying a ticket.

Remember, if there are no last-minute tickets, then as an option then watch last-minute tours. Their prices can be very low. Our friends once bought a similar tour to Pattaya for 20,000 rubles per person. This is a round-trip ticket, accommodation in a cheap hotel, free breakfasts and transfer from the airport. In principle, for such a price, you can only use a one-way ticket from this set.

How to buy a return ticket to Russia while in Thailand

With regular flights, everything is clear - wherever you are, the purchase takes place through a bank card.

With charters, everything is different, they are sold by travel agencies. The sequence is as follows: monitor Turdom, as soon as the desired ticket appears, contact the travel agency by email or by phone (via Skype, it's cheaper) and ask how to pay for the ticket. There are several options to offer:

  • Go to a Thai bank and deposit money into an account that the travel agency has there. This is faster, since the transfer from your bank in the Russian Federation to another bank can take several days, and the reservation is given for a limited period (days).
  • Go to the representative of this travel agency in Thailand and pay cash. The problem here is this - if you are far from tourist places(Phuket, Pattaya), then you may even have to go there.
  • Ask relatives or friends in Moscow to drive up to the office and pay for your air ticket. Probably the easiest way.
  • Transfer money from your account to the agency account, or even pay by card on their website. This is the most convenient and easiest way, finally thought of it. Once upon a time, no one offered this at all in agencies.

Actually, the last way is the most successful. And although I wrote that the transfer can take a long time (and they usually book for a day), but I think they can hold the reservation for you, since they offer this. I found out about this in 2013, because in 2011, when I was writing this article, I never came across an agency ready for remote payment, and we had to go to the office in Phuket to give cash to the partners of the agency.

Addition for those who do not live in Moscow

I want to add a little to the article, as I receive questions from residents of other cities. Unfortunately, I can’t advise you much, since almost all of my flights are from Moscow.

Most likely, you will not have to rely on very cheap tickets. From most cities, flights will be more expensive than from Moscow, this applies to both regular flights and charter flights. Moreover, there will most likely be trouble with last-minute charters; in addition to Moscow, tickets from Novosibirsk or Yekaterinburg very rarely slip through Turdom. What pleases, before they were not there at all, but now there is at least something, the trend in good side. Now they even made a separate section by region - Turdom-regions.

So the main rule is to watch flights from neighboring large cities if you live in a small town. For example, once from Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk there were very cheap tickets for regular flights from the airline S7. They were even cheaper than from Moscow. Something around 10,000 round trip. Therefore, there is a chance to fly cheaply to Thailand from Siberia too. It is important to monitor tickets in aggregators, on airline websites, on Turdoma, and get at such prices.

It also makes sense to find travel agencies in your city, call them and find out if they have last-minute tickets or tours. Sometimes even a tour is so cheap that no regular flights are needed. True, the cost of the tour can be comparable to a one-way ticket, then you can safely score on a return ticket, on accommodation in a simple hotel in Pattaya and on free breakfasts, and immediately upon arrival in Bangkok go where you need to go.

P.S. Good luck to all of us in finding cheap flights to Thailand :)

I want to go to Phuket, Thailand.
    Vacation will be in February.
    Never been abroad.
English at the level of "how mach it".

Why the first trip abroad to Thailand?
    February in Thailand good weather.
I want a beach, tropical exoticism, a normal sea, excursions.
    Parties are not interested ...

I started monitoring prices. I thought that buying plane tickets and booking a hotel on booking would be cheaper than buying a tour.
I look at air tickets - with 1 or even two transfers, they will cost about 70 thousand, and this is not in season.
While tour operators offer flights for 80 - 90 thousand with no hotel (3 *) and, in some places, food.
Those. It may well be that the tour will cost less than an independent trip?

I somehow didn’t get used to it, because I traveled quite a lot around Russia.
And travel agencies have always offered some kind of game in the ass of the world for an inadequate cost.
But here ... does it make sense to take separate tickets if the tour is practically comparable in terms of money? Or do I not understand?

How much, on average, does a Phuket tour for two per season cost if it is not booked in advance?
Now, if you book six months in advance, you can find 3 - 4 * for 90 - 100 thousand rubles.
How much will prices rise in three months in winter?

I want to note the fact that the author of the topic lives in Kazan.
I want to note the fact that February in Thailand is high season. Not the season in Thailand - this is our summer, when it rains there.
If you look at the cost of air tickets to Thailand in February from Kazan (let's say for 2 weeks) on, then the most low price 35.000 rubles by normal airlines - flyDubai + Emirates with one change.

    Answer in forum thread:
“Regarding the comparison of your own and the tour, then decide for yourself, even at the same cost there are pluses and minuses. I did not see information about the timing of stay in Thailand. As a rule, the longer the stay, the more profitable "on your own". In addition, a free choice of accommodation (which is not in the tours). Well, the flight is not a little important. Killed charters with very mediocre service fly on tours (for example, it’s quite normal for them if you spend an unplanned day from your vacation at the airport due to rescheduling a flight or waiting for a board), “on your own” it will be flight comforts, depending on the choice of airline. »

    Answer number two:

“Last year, in early December, they took the most cheap tour for 8 days for 70 for two in a 2 * hotel with breakfast, bought two weeks before departure. By the way, this was my first trip on the tour, before that I always traveled independently both in the Russian Federation and abroad. They decided to take the tour because it also seemed that the tour was cheaper (although in our case the difference was a maximum of a couple of thousand). Yes, and a package trip then seemed more convenient: a direct flight, no need to think about how to get to the hotel, and so on. But on the trip, we realized that it’s even better, even more expensive, but on our own, because. we are very unused to depend on someone on a trip and feel like vegetables))) And the impressions from the trip turned out to be less than if we went on our own.

Tours are usually cheaper than independent travel exactly in season and popular destinations. If you are going abroad for the first time in your life, then the tour can justify itself, because. the first time can be scary, incomprehensible, etc., and the tour will provide you with peace and comfort, perhaps even for less money than if you went on your own. But to each his own"

    Answer number three:

“Judging by what I dug up, it turns out cheaper than taking a tour on your own. Tours from 90 for 14 days, and self-propelled in 72 met. Of course, there are also expenses for food and a scooter. But they will anyway.
I also chose a quieter place in Phuket. As a result, I chose the beaches of Nai Harn and Yanuy. The hotel picked up away from the coast, because. I still plan to take a scooter.
As a result, it turns out that the local infrastructure is at hand, because. the hotel is not on the beach and the beaches are 5 minutes by scooter.”

    Answer number four:

“It’s easier to do this way, buy a tour and use it as air tickets (well, maybe even a hotel, if not very nasty), the rest is up to you. We flew in and went about our business, not listening to the sweet speeches of greedy guides. At the end of the trip, fly away with everyone else on a charter… At the same time, save money and be independent all the time of the trip.”

    My resume

In general, I agree with the answers to the author of the post.
Indeed, for the first time, a tour may be suitable, which, if desired, can be used as an air ticket + transfer, and orient yourself on the spot.
The option is suitable if you are ready to fly a charter sharaga with neighbors who started celebrating their holidays in duty free.

Package hotels in overwhelming numbers - killed, with a peculiar audience.
But there is the Internet and there is Booking.com booking system– already on the spot, you can see what you found by booking before booking. Do not forget about the "minimum price" booking option - if you find a hotel you like cheaper than on booking - it will return the difference in price to you.

Excursions you will buy on the spot cheaper than Russian guides offer in a package hotel.
Don't be confused by English at the level of "how mach it" - for Thais it is also not their native language. Search for a car for rent
