I thought that, for sure, there are guests who, for one reason or another, do not ask us their questions, but either go to the hotel at their own peril and risk, or spend time looking for answers on the Internet. I decided to compile a list of the most popular questions and give detailed answers to them. Over time, I will answer the most popular questions in the following posts, hoping that articles like this will benefit many guests.

1. How can I pay for my hotel stay?

When booking a hotel room in St. Petersburg, there are several payment options:

- In a hotel. You pay for your stay directly upon arrival at the hotel in cash or bank card;

- by bank card through the site. You can pay for your stay by card, regardless of the number of days before arrival and the hotel you have chosen. Payment will reach us within five minutes after your payment. Learn more about paying by card.

- by receipt at any branch of Sberbank. If there is a branch of Sberbank in your city, then you can pay for hotel accommodation by receipt. The manager will fill it out and send it to you by fax or e-mail. You will only need to pay the receipt and send the stub with the bank's seal to the manager by fax or e-mail.

- by account. Are you going on a business trip? Then you can ask the manager to issue an invoice for payment by sending him the details of your company. After your stay, you may be provided with closing documents.

- Western Union translation. You can send a transfer through the Western Union system to the name of an employee of our company: Ulanova Natalia Vyacheslavovna (ULANOVA NATALYA VYACHESLAVOVNA). After payment, you will need to inform your manager:
- surname, name of the sender;
- amount;
- country, city from where the transfer was made;

2. Why do I need my card details when booking a room?

When booking a room, the manager may request your bank card details (type, number, expiration date, name and surname of its owner).

Why do you need card details:
– In large hotels such as Sokos Palace Bridge, Pribaltiyskaya, Corinthia, Astoria, Emerald, Pulkovskaya, etc., these cards are required to guarantee a late check-in (if you arrive at the hotel after 18:00). Funds will be debited from the card only in case of your no-show or late cancellation of the reservation.

– In some hotels (mainly 4 and 5 stars) these cards are required to guarantee your check-in at the hotel. Funds will be debited from the card only in case of no-show, and payment by you at the same time can be made upon arrival in cash or by bank card (including not the one whose data you provided when booking).

As a rule, the higher the load at hotels, the tougher the conditions will be when booking a room.

3. What is a hotel night? Why check in time is 14:00 and check out is 12:00?

There is such a thing as a "hotel day". In a hotel, a day is not equal to a calendar day and can be 2 or 3 hours less. As a rule, check-in at the hotel is from 14:00, and check-out is before 12:00. What do you need 2 hours for? When each guest arrives at the hotel, the room must be clean: the linen is changed, the bathroom is washed, the carpet is cleaned, wet cleaning is done and fresh flowers are arranged. If the previous guest left the room at 12:00, you must clean the room by 14:00 for your arrival, if your check-in was at 12:00, it would be physically impossible to do this. As a rule, more often in the low season, the administrator can check you in before 14:00 for free, provided that the room is free and ready for check-in.

4. Is it possible to check into the room before 14:00?

If you would like to check in earlier than the standard check-in time of 14:00, then this is possible when booking an "early check-in". Usually in hotels, the rules for paying for early check-in are the same and depend on the season. Guaranteed early check-in is available to guests in the following order:
- Low season, Season: 06:00 - 14:00 - 50% of the cost per one night stay;
- High Season, Season "White Nights", Season "Forum": 06:00 - 14:00 - 100% of the cost of one night's stay.

5. Is it possible to leave the room later than 12:00?

If you would like to leave your room earlier than the standard check-out time of 12:00, then this is possible when booking a "late check-out". Booking conditions as well as early check-in are set by each hotel, but most often they are:
- Low season: check-out 12:00 - 23:00 - 50% of the price per night;
- Season and High season: departure 12:00 - 18:00 - 50% of the cost for one night stay and 18:00 - 23:00 - 100% of the cost for one night stay;
- Season "White Nights" and Season "Forum": 12:00 - 23:00 - 100% of the cost per night.

It should also be noted that the provision of a room after the established check-out time is possible only if there are free rooms in the hotel.

6. What happens if I don't cancel my booking and check into the hotel?

If you provided credit card details when booking, it will be charged an amount equal to the cost of one night stay in booked hotel if you did not arrive without warning or canceled your room late. The term of a possible cancellation is always discussed by the manager, and is also written in the booking confirmation, which is sent in a convenient way for you. The same will happen if you paid in advance for your stay by non-cash payment or a receipt through a branch of Sberbank. When booking without providing bank card details and without advance payment, the hotel will not be able to withhold from you the fine in the required amount, and you are not liable for this. However, please note that this booking is considered non-guaranteed and the hotel has the right to cancel the booking if you do not arrive before 18:00.

7. If I am booking a room for a foreign guest, what do I need to do?

Booking rooms for foreign guests is carried out according to the same principle as for citizens of the Russian Federation.
