Mecca of cave diving: Ordinskaya cave. Orda Cave - a protected world for divers

Orda cave(Orda Cave) is located on the southwestern outskirts of the village of Orda, Perm Territory, on the left bank of the Kungur River. Consists of "dry" and underwater parts. The length of the dry part is 300 meters, underwater - 4600 meters.

To date, the Orda Cave is the longest known flooded gypsum cave in Russia. In addition, part of the cave is the longest "siphon" in the CIS - 935 meters.

The Ordinskaya cave has long been known to the local population, it is located on the southern slope in the bowels of the Kazakovskaya mountain - a hill picturesquely rising above the river with a plateau-like flat top, skirted by the Kungur River. The height of the hill does not exceed 50 m. There are large karst funnels on its surface, one of which, located on the southern steep slope, contains the entrance to the cave.

The cave is striking in its beauty: snow-white plaster walls, spacious tunnels, narrow passages and huge halls, tricky labyrinths and absolutely clear water. IN winter time the cave is decorated with ice stalactites, stalagmites and crystals that appear in grottoes.

The beauty of the cave attracts not only Russian divers, but also celebrities from the world of cave divers.

Famous French diver Pascal Bernabe in the Orda cave

On this moment the cave was not fully explored: 4.6 km of cave passages were explored. Diving center "Nautilus" organizes dives in the Orda cave even for beginners, providing everything you need for cave diving.
But only experienced cave divers can appreciate the beauty of the cave. The first grotto of the cave is Crystal. In its northwestern part, the waters of Ice Lake splash.

On the left, the entrance to another largest grotto opens - the Ice Palace. It is 50 meters long, 15 meters wide and 7 meters high. Here is Lake Main and a reservoir called Teploe, the temperature of which never rises above +4 degrees.

scuba diving in mysterious caves has always been considered a rather dangerous occupation. Thrill-seekers from all over the world are attracted by natural attractions carved into rocky cliffs. Formed over several million years, underwater grottoes are located in various parts of our planet.

It is curious that in Russia there is amazing place, fraught with many dangers that lie on great depth. It is a real challenge for travelers who dream of discovering something new and getting a huge dose of adrenaline.

Russian landmark

The legendary Orda Cave, which consists of two parts, is recognized as one of the longest underwater labyrinths in the world. It was discovered in the Perm Territory, in the village of Orda, on the banks of the Kungur River. Located in the bowels of the Kazakovskaya mountain, on the surface of which there are multiple karst funnels, the local landmark keeps blue waters a whole world accessible only to professionals.

It is not for nothing that a sign was installed here warning that the passage is open only to experienced divers. Most of the gypsum cave, not the karst one, is under water (however, there are also dry places), and in its intricate tunnels it is very easy to get lost and stay in the grottoes forever.

The history of the discovery and study of a natural miracle

For the first time, they started talking about a natural miracle in 1969, when it was included in the list of underground labyrinths in the Perm Territory. Exploring the underwater Ordinskaya cave, located in the shade Ural mountains, took up relatively recently - in the 90s of the last century, although local population always knew of its existence. Famous speleologists Lavrov and Samovolnikov, who examined the grottoes, made up detailed maps its dry part.

About 17 years ago, the Ryazan scuba diver Komarov made the first dive into the lake, discovering giant cavities filled with water, branched into two galleries. He explored several tens of meters, initiating the study of the most interesting sights of Russia.

New surprises are just around the corner

Speleodivers, equipped with powerful special equipment, were able to go three kilometers under water, and it seemed that the Orda cave revealed all its secrets to people. However, at the beginning of this century, researchers discovered previously unknown and confusing branches, which were given names derived from the cities of divers who discovered them (the passages of Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Sverdlovsk). The length of the underwater corridors is five kilometers, but professionals continue their research to this day. However, even now it cannot be said that all the cavities of the underground labyrinths filled with water have been well studied, and, perhaps, the miraculous masterpiece will soon present many new surprises.

For several decades, groups of enthusiastic divers have been drawn to the Urals, organizing expeditions to the cave and wanting to make geographical discoveries.

Description of the underwater cave

The dry part of the Ordinskaya cave in the Perm region is tunnels with underground lakes that serve as a portal to dangerous labyrinths. A small corridor located at the entrance leads extreme people to a spacious grotto with a length of about 30 meters. From the Crystal Hall, where a small pond mysteriously shines, you can get to the Ice Palace, the height of the vaults of which exceeds seven meters. There are two lakes in it (Main and Warm), through which the dive into the most mysterious part of the cave - the underwater one - begins. The last dry cavity is called Maksimovich's Grotto.

To get into the Orda cave, you need to get to the Main Lake, and at a depth of three meters there is an entrance to a vertical well, which branches into two parts. Travel along the wide Main Gallery to the domed Dry Hall with high ceilings. Here you can take a break before setting off on a difficult journey through the main grottoes of the underwater masterpiece.

And the Left Gallery leads to the lower cavities - the so-called Basement, behind which are the Maisky and Canyon passages. The main part of the fascinating underwater route goes among the chalk-colored gypsum rocks, and therefore many people call the cave the "White Bride". The water temperature does not rise above 6 o C all year round.

Diving as a tourist destination

Back in 1999, the Federation of Underwater Sports was established in Perm, and thanks to this fact, the development of diving began as tourist destination. The cave was well equipped: reliable metal stairs about 50 meters long were installed for visitors, a platform was equipped for assembling underwater equipment, electric light was installed, which is a huge plus for divers involved in research.

Opening of a diving base next to the cave

At the beginning of this century, the cave in the Ordinsky district began to be developed by the Perm diving center "Nautilus", and not far from the entrance to the natural attraction, the first diving base in Russia was built - a center for training specialists, which cannot but please the domestic speleological community. Here you can stay in cozy houses, but it is advisable to book in advance. Experienced professionals speak positively about the staff who will lower the equipment into the cave, help carry heavy cylinders and equipment.

It must be admitted that the availability of scuba diving, and not karst cave, contributes to the development and formation of a new view of diving, which is completely safe under certain rules. Now the cave is open to experienced and beginner cave divers, and everyone will have the opportunity to take part in interesting research.

Diving in Orda Cave

The price of a trip to the cave ranges from 5 thousand for vacationers to 67 thousand for one diver, but with more participants the cost is reduced. The program does not include air travel, hotel accommodation, meals, insurance policy. The price includes five days of diving with dives, cylinder rental, porters and experienced instructors.

However, the organizers may change the itinerary depending on the weather conditions and for the safety of the people.

An underworld that needs attention

According to everyone who visited beautiful cave, it is simply created for excursions: an unusual combination of white plaster walls and the purest water, shimmering in rich blue, is admirable. However, in order to swim, you need good physical data and diving skills, and you also need to use special equipment weighing up to 80 kg. This is a place where you need to be attentive and extremely collected, so athletes most often come here, since only they can see the underwater part.

By the way, speleologists believe that underworld- this is a living being that decides whether to let someone in or not. If a person starts having problems, the lights go out, something happens to the equipment, then it is better to postpone the dive so as not to stay forever in the cave, because any little thing can cost a life. Transparent water instantly becomes cloudy with a sharp wave of flippers, gypsum dust hangs before the eyes, and further advancement occurs by touch.

Tours for tourists

However, anyone who does not have scuba diving experience will be able to see the crystal clear waters underground labyrinths. Excursions to the Ordinskaya cave are held regularly, and three hundred meters of the unflooded part of the geological object are available to tourists, and in the dry Crystal Grotto, vacationers will see two lakes, and also walk through the spacious hall. Ice garlands grew here giant size, acquiring the most fantastic forms. Until the beginning of spring, they will delight the eyes of tourists.

Live music, the sounds of which are reflected by plaster vaults with amazing acoustics, will only enhance the unforgettable experience.

Ordinskaya cave: reviews

Enthusiastic eyewitness accounts of spacious tunnels, phenomenal visibility in the water, exotic beauty spacious halls covered with plaster excite the imagination and attract a huge number of divers. As travelers who were able to enjoy the cosmic beauty of the underwater world note, they were overwhelmed with sensations indescribable in words. According to most, swimming in turquoise waters natural wonder comparable to weightlessness, and experiencing such feelings is simply necessary.

However, often in underwater tunnels, many are seized by claustrophobia: people are afraid that no one will be able to help them in emergency. In addition, when entering unique miracle nature is immediately felt a sharp decline temperature, and ice water adds a little extreme.

Famous divers from Great Britain and the USA visited Ordinskaya Cave in Russia, and everyone was very pleased, and the world champion in deep diving P. Bernabe from France some time ago began to conduct regular diving courses for everyone. Explorers feel like discoverers of a mysterious galaxy. This is the other world, where fear recedes, and a person experiences real delight and awe before the spectacle he has seen.

The longest underwater gypsum cave in Russia, a real Mecca for caving lovers. People come here from all over Russia, and sometimes from abroad. Orda Cave is widely known for its underwater beauty.

The cave is located on the left bank of the Kungur River (here there is a small pond on it), in the depths of the low plateau-like Kazakovskaya Mountain. Formed in gypsum and anhydrite of the Permian period. It got its name from the nearby village of Horde.

History of study

The cave has been known to the locals for a long time. First mentioned in the literature under the name Kazakovskaya in 1969 by G.A. Maksimovich. However, the first serious studies of the cave date back to the early 1990s, when the dry part of the cave was studied and mapped under the guidance of Andrey Samovolnikov and Igor Lavrov.

The first underwater surveys were carried out in March 1994. The first dive was made by speleologist-scuba diver Viktor Komarov from Ryazan, invited here by Igor Lavrov. But then the main goal was the siphon in the Parallelnaya cave near Gubakha. The passage there turned out to be too narrow to pass, and there was still air in the cylinders. So we decided to visit the Orda cave. There were no surprises. The lake was suddenly frozen over. It was not easy to make a lane for diving in a half-meter layer of ice. During the first dive, the first 100 meters of mysterious underwater passages were explored. It became clear that there was an extended underwater part in the cave.

In June 1996, a large dry grotto was discovered behind the siphon by submariner Pyotr Minenkov from Krasnoyarsk.

The fame of an unusual underwater cave began to spread. Divers have come here. In December 1997, the first All-Russian speleological expedition was organized. As a result, the surveyed length of the cave reached 1250 meters. Since then, this number has steadily increased.

The cave impressed researchers with its huge volumes (in some halls, powerful lanterns did not reach the walls) and clear water.

In the 2000s, the Orda cave was chosen by the Perm dive center Nautilus. Under the leadership of the submariner Andrei Gorbunov, a diving base (the first in Russia) appeared near the cave, lighting was laid.

Features of the Orda cave

The entrance to the cave is in sinkhole on the steep slope of Kazakovskaya Mountain, from the side of the Kungur River. The descent is equipped with stairs; when inside the cave divers, the lighting turns on. The entrance to the cave is 5 meters wide and 2 meters high.

The length of the Orda cave is 4600 meters, while the length of the dry part is only 300 meters. Amplitude - 45 meters, area - more than 50 thousand m2. In terms of length, the Ordinskaya cave is in fourth place in the Perm region after Divya (10.1 km), Kizelovskaya (7.6 km) and Kungurskaya ice (5.7 km). Of the underwater caves in gypsum, she has no equal in Russia.

The dry part of the cave consists of the Crystal, Ice Palace and G.A. Maksimovich. Most big grotto– The Ice Palace, which is 50 meters long, up to 15 meters wide, up to 7 meters high. In winter, beautiful ice formations appear here. The floor of the cave is covered with blocks that have fallen from the ceiling. Gypsum caves are characterized by a high landslide hazard. You have to be careful. Especially dangerous in the spring.

There are several lakes in the cave that connect to the underwater part of the cave. A staircase leads to the Main Lake in the Ice Palace grotto, there is a platform for divers, benches. The water temperature in the cave is always low (+4+5ºС).

Behind the underwater part there is a grotto Dry Hall with a height of about 7 meters. Here there is an opportunity to go on land. From here you can get to the main underwater galleries of the Orda cave, named after the cities of explorers. These are the galleries Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Sverdlovsk passages.

The longest move is Moscow. Its length is 935 meters. This is the longest siphon in Russia and the CIS.

The longest underwater caves in the world are located in Mexico and the USA. In Mexico, on the Yucatan Peninsula, 17 caves are known with a length of more than 5 km, of which six caves are more than 10 km long, and two are more than 100 km long. Ordinskaya cave is far from them, but it is unique in its own way.

A visit to the picturesque underwater part of the cave is only possible for experienced divers.

Unfortunately, there have been tragedies as well. On November 14, 2013, a diver from Izhevsk drowned while diving in the Orda cave.

Ordinskaya Cave is a geological natural monument of the Perm Territory.

There are many sinkholes and sinkholes in the field near the cave. Some of them are visible even from the road.

The vegetation in the vicinity of the cave is also unique. This is due to its location in the center of the relic island Kungur forest-steppe. 133 species of higher plants have been identified here. Plants listed in the Red Book also grow: feather grass (Red Book of the Russian Federation) and Siberian cornflower (Red Book of the Perm Territory).

In the vicinity of Kungur there is another cave with an extended underwater part - Babinogorskaya. Its underwater part was opened in 2006.

Entrance to the Orda cave

It would be more correct to call the Orda cave flooded, because it consists not only of the underwater, but also of the so-called dry part. The length of each of them is respectively 300 and 4600 meters. Cave diving fans no longer have to go for thrills to Mexico or the Dominican Republic - diving enthusiasts get a real chance to become pioneers here. For example, a new lake, a rock, a tunnel.

"Russian Florida" - this is how the extreme people of the whole world speak of it, for whom it has become a real "Mecca". In the Ordinskaya cave, located in the shadow of the Ural Mountains, along which the border between Europe and Asia runs, the water is amazingly clear, which is filtered by layers of rock. And white plaster walls turn it into a real underwater palace or even a whole kingdom. Hidden here Magic world- huge grottoes and halls, labyrinths of narrow passages, corridors and tunnels - have not yet been fully explored.

Diving in the Orda cave is a serious test of endurance, endurance and self-discipline. It can become an unforgettable and the brightest event in life for true adventurers.

pioneers

This remarkable in every respect is located natural object V Perm region, near the village of Orda, namely, in the place where the Kungur River bends around a high flat hill called Kazakovskaya Gora. It has a lot of large karst funnels. The entrance to the Orda cave is located on the southeastern slope, at an altitude of about 50 meters above the river. The diameter of the funnel is approximately 5 meters and the depth is about 2 meters.

The first mention of the Orda cave dates back to 1969, although locals always knew about it. In the list of caves, it was listed as Kazakovskaya, which had a depth of 10 meters.

Full-scale research began in 1992, when the Perm caver A.M. Samovolnikov studied the numerous karst funnels of Kazakovskaya Gora. He suggested that this particular cave could hide many tunnels. Speleologists from Moscow, Kungursk and Perm took part in an organized research expedition in 1993-1994. As a result, about 300 meters of overland underground passages were mapped. The first scuba dive was made by V. Komarov, a speleologist from Ryazan. He discovered a real underwater kingdom. Another 350 meters of tunnels were marked on the map. In 1997, the All-Russian expedition already studied a siphon 650 meters long.

Many enthusiasts descended into these caves filled with water. Research was difficult, because at that time there were no necessary equipment for such purposes. And only the appearance of modern equipment in the late 90s made it possible to open more than 2.5 km of cave tunnels. Of these, 2.2 km are under water. This is how the passages appeared: Chelyabinsk, Moscow, Sverdlovsk, Krasnodar, and our contemporaries became pioneers.

Here is the largest siphon not only in the country, but in the entire former Soviet Union - its length is 935 meters. The depth of the underwater part is more than 40 meters. Today, about 4.6 km of tunnels have been explored and mapped. How much has not yet been explored is unknown.

Through the stalagmites

The underwater world of the Orda cave

The so-called dry part of the cave has a length of 300 meters. It is especially beautiful here in winter, when stalactites, stalagmites, bizarre crystals form. The spectacle is truly fantastic. And the Orda cave is not inferior in beauty to the famous Kungur ice cave.

The overland passage leads to the lake. The dive begins. It takes a few minutes for the eyes to get used to absolute darkness (divers take several flashlights with them: the main one and spare ones). The body adapts to being under water - it is very cold all year round. Two tunnels lead further. One is a horizontal dead end, very fond of beginners. They pull it out, as they say, “by the flippers”, since the gap is small. Through the so-called "skin derer", it is vertical and very narrow, divers enter the Entrance Hall upside down. Here the gallery of tunnels forks. At the fork there is a huge block, for which the main "way" is fixed.

Grotto "Crystal" is a hall 30 by 15 meters, the height of which is about 8 meters. And the Ice Palace grotto is even bigger. On the walls and vaults - limestone and gypsum. The walls are light, and in combination with the blue tint of the waters, they give the feeling of a real underwater kingdom. From the "Ice Palace" you can get to two underground lakes: Warm and Main. Although the name "Warm" is hardly true, since the water temperature in the Orda cave ranges from 4 to 8 degrees. There is a thermometer on the walls.

Grottoes, palace halls, opening before the eyes underwater lakes- the spectacle is amazing! Huge fragments from the ceiling are piled up below, which should not be surprising: the rock is fragile. The water is stunning with its blueness and transparency, the beam of the lantern goes far beyond 50 meters, is lost in the depths. But the diver needs to move very carefully so as not to muddy the water, otherwise nothing will be visible and he may lose orientation. The walls are covered with gypsum dust, and at the bottom - gray silt. On the walls of the cave you can see amphipods and shrimps.

In the Ordinskaya cave there are several halls with above-water space - here you can freely breathe the air and relax. There are side branches in the long tunnels that look like dark subway tunnels. Many of them have not been studied to this day. The area of underwater lakes, according to some researchers, is about 50 thousand square meters. Cellars, rocks, tunnels, figure eights - the beauty of the underwater kingdom really exceeds all conceivable expectations!

Like all mysterious places, Orda cave has its own legend - a guardian spirit. More specifically, guardians. A unique photo session was held here with the participation of a Russian freediver, two-time world champion in the team event Natalia Avseenko, who played the role of a beautiful beauty - the Mistress of the Horde. This beautiful place inspired and continues to inspire Russian and foreign documentaries and photographers.

In the cave you can find a dummy mine - this is a joke of the guys from the Nautilus scuba diving club. Under New Year here they even decorate a Christmas tree underwater. It is considered aerobatics to sip champagne near a decorated tree. And, of course, take a picture for memory against the background of a green beauty.

The most difficult diving site

deep sea dive- sport, as you know, is dangerous. It requires serious physical and mental preparation. The minimum weight of a diver's equipment is about 100 kg. Caves filled with water are not for people suffering from claustrophobia or panic attacks. Here the risk is not justified. There have been two fatalities in the history of active diving. Moreover, the diver who died here in 2009 studied at a specialized school in Florida. One of the grottoes in the dry part of the Orda cave is named after a speleologist who tragically died while exploring underwater caves. Arkhangelsk region- Vladimir Kiselev.

Today, groups accompanied by experienced leaders descend equipped with the most modern equipment: underwater computers on the arm, back cameras (for balance). Underwater diving at such a difficult range as the Orda Cave requires maximum composure, attentiveness, and compliance with all safety rules. After all, this landfill has gained a reputation as one of the most difficult.

Ordinskaya cave is located in the depths of the Kazakovskaya mountain. If you happened to visit the Perm region, then the Ordinskaya cave can become perfect place For extreme recreation. Today we will talk about it in more detail, because it really deserves attention. Orda Cave is a unique natural object. This is the longest underwater gypsum cave in Russia, and in the whole world, in the cave there is the largest siphon in Russia, several deep lakes, ice stalactites, stalagmites and crystals that appear in grottoes in winter.

The Orda cave is located near the southwestern outskirts of the village of Orda in the Perm Territory, on the eastern outskirts of the Russian plain. The cave is located in the bowels of the Kazakovskaya mountain, which is a plateau-like hill surrounded on three sides by the valley of the Kungur River. The entrance to the cave is located on the southern steep slope of the river valley. This is one of the grottoes located in the chain of the Ural Mountains. Perm region is the most South part Ural. It is a favorite place for speleologists from all over the world, because it has about 700 caves of various lengths. However, none of them can overshadow this wonder of the world. The locals knew about the existence of the Ordinskaya cave for a long time, but in 1992 its exploration began: the first expedition explored more than a kilometer of underwater passages and one longest flooded tunnel. It was from the end of the twentieth century that the Orda cave began to interest scientists and travelers, and its map began to grow rapidly and be replenished with new parts. As a result of long-term research, the length of the Ordinskaya cave is currently 4400 meters, of which 4000 meters are underwater. The cave has not been fully explored, the discovery of new passages is possible.

Cave divers from all over Russia and foreign countries tend to the Perm Territory to comprehend the secrets of the longest flooded gypsum cave - Ordinskaya.

With the beginning of the 21st century, a full-scale study of this huge system of intricate tunnels flooded with water began. Of course, they were studied by specialists, but soon it attracted the attention of amateurs, brave people and experts in extreme diving. And gradually the Orda cave turned into one of the most interesting objects for tourists. As early as the beginning of the 19th century, deposits of gypsum were found here. It was first mined for construction purposes, then for artistic processing. It was thanks to this industrial activity that the Orda Cave was discovered. On its surface there are large karst funnels, one of which is the entrance to the cave. The cave impresses not only with its size, but also with its beauty. deep and clear lakes, high plaster vaults, snow-icy decoration of silent halls - all this looks absolutely fantastic. The second All-Russian expedition was held a year later, this time already 1980 meters of underground flooded passages were covered. In 2001, the Ordinskaya cave turned into a diving base. Cave divers are trained here, underwater research and video filming are carried out. And today, about 4000 meters of underground passages have already been studied.

The entrance to the cave, five meters wide and two meters high, is located on the southern steep slope of Kazakovskaya Mountain in a karst funnel fifteen meters in diameter. The first grotto is Crystal, in the northwestern corner of the grotto there is Ice Lake. The main passage of the cave stretches to the left from the Crystal grotto and leads to the Ice Palace grotto. Here is Lake Main and further, through the passage of Lake Teploe. These lakes are the entrances to a large underwater system of passages and grottoes. The main galleries of the cave are the Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow and Sverdlovsk passages, named by the discoverers in honor of their cities.

Diving in the Ordinskaya cave begins in Lake Glavny, located in the grotto of the Ice Palace.

Almost all divers are attracted by the Orda Cave. Photos of its snow-white vaults can make you forget about everything in the world, although they will not replace the dive itself. It has its own world here, a person seems to fall into space, cold, unknown and so attractive. Not everyone will find Ordinskaya Cave affectionate and friendly. The knowledge of the underwater world should really capture you so that it becomes possible to overcome yourself and descend into its labyrinths. The water temperature here is not higher than +6 degrees, and can reach +4. Visibility is 100 meters at best. Equipped here comfortable descent to the water with metal stairs and railings. This will help you descend and ascend in a diving suit. A wide area with special benches, as well as good lighting, make preparing for a dive comfortable and enjoyable. It should be noted that only separate galleries are intended for tourists, where running ends are laid, that is, you will move in one direction along the stretched rope. This is not a walk for amateurs, but a very responsible event that must be approached with all seriousness.

Can any tourist visit the underground tunnels of this cave and soak up its unimaginable romance? No, this is not possible without preparation. Just like an amateur parachute jump cannot be done without training, as it can cost you your life. Ordinskaya underwater cave will not forgive mistakes. A diver in such difficult conditions: complete darkness, the danger of cloudy water, the collapse of plaster walls. Only a person who has been trained according to a special technique and knows the equipment perfectly can dive into this complex cave. It is obligatory to dive in pairs, and the entire life support system is duplicated. Behind him are two cylinders and two regulators. Since 2002, the cave has been developed by the Nautilus dive center in Perm, as a result, the first diving base in Russia was built. A cave divers training center has been established. Diving in the Ordinskaya cave requires serious preparation, but those who have visited it underwater world remain the most vivid impressions.

Diving in the cave requires a diver to be an Advanced Open Water Diver certification. More detailed information about the cave can be obtained on the official website http://ordacave.com/, where you can also sign up for cave diving courses, take part in expeditions to explore the depths of the cave.

This is an elite sport for the elite, because in local conditions there is a great difficulty in diving. Of course, there is equipment for rent here, before you get it, you need to undergo training and get a certificate. Tourists who have already been here say there are plenty of opportunities for panic. I tried to surface earlier than the appointed place - you hit your head against a stone, you instantly lose your orientation in space, you start to breathe more often. As a result, air is consumed very quickly. And if the lantern suddenly went haywire, then in the ensuing darkness you immediately lose the understanding of where the top is, and where the bottom is. That is, the diver must be prepared for any situation. However, until now, all divers descending under the arches of this cave have returned back.
