Sary-Arka Airport is an airport belonging to the city of Karaganda and located 22 km from it. Today it is one of the largest aviation enterprises Kazakhstan. It began its existence in the winter of 1934, at that time its main task was to provide air communication with villages located in hard-to-reach places. Then, in 1980, the airport building and the runway were reconstructed, which made it possible to receive aircraft, regardless of their size, up to heavy Boeings. The network of operated flights has significantly expanded its destinations. Now flights were carried out to various cities of Russia: Sochi, Moscow, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, etc.

After the emergence of the new Kazakhstan state, the pattern of flights performed changed, as there was a need to conduct flights abroad. In 1992, the airport "Sary-Arka" acquired the status of an international one, thanks to which there were international destinations– to Germany, Istanbul, Sharjah, Poland, Syria, Iran and many others. Of course, the previous flights operated within the country have been preserved.

Together with the expansion of the geography of flights, grandiose and qualitative changes are constantly taking place in the terminal building. More and more it changes into better side, adjusting to European standards.

However, despite such good performance And permanent jobs aimed at modernizing and reconstructing the building of the airport itself, there is a problem of the absence of a significant number of passengers. The close location of the Astana airport at a distance of 200 km from Karaganda contributes to the fact that passengers prefer the closest colleague "Sary-Arka". Therefore, the management of the airport terminal has planned the next work, which would affect the number of travelers staying in Karaganda. Today, the annual passenger turnover is 2.5 million people.

Karaganda Airport is located at:

  • Republic of Kazakhstan, Karaganda region, Bukhar-Zhyrau district, Airport

How to get from the airport to Karaganda and back

Debugged works municipal transport, represented by bus number 120, which will take anyone on a direct flight to the very doors of the terminal. The only thing that before sending to the airport, you need to take into account its schedule and the state of traffic on the roads. Infrequently, but it happens that there are “traffic jams”, so you need to leave the house in advance in order to get on your flight on time.

Airport "Sary-Arka" (Karaganda) is one of the largest in size in Kazakhstan. The following is a review of its history and Current state.

Location

This object is located in the eastern part, approximately in the center of Kazakhstan. Nearby is the city of Karaganda. The airport is located 22 km away. On the one hand, this location is advantageous, since from the center of the country there is convenient access to big cities. However, this also creates difficulties due to the fact that most passenger traffic is intercepted by the nearby capital airport.

Problems

The main problem of the airport is the lack of passengers. This is due to the proximity to the second largest passenger airport in Kazakhstan, Astana, which is only 200 km away. Naturally, the capital is more popular than Karaganda. Astana Airport after modernization has significantly reduced passenger traffic in Karaganda. And now it is in the process of another restoration aimed at increasing passenger traffic. As a result, the capacity of the Karaganda airport is used only by 10%.

Legal status

JSC was established in 1996 open type"Airport Sary-Arka" with the full participation of the state in the authorized capital. The following year, the company changed its status to JSC. In 1998, a block of shares was registered in the amount of 89,551. In 2003, the name was changed again to JSC, and the number of shares increased by 120 units. In 2005, the Department of Finance of the Karaganda region held an open investment tender, where Sky Service LLP acquired a block of shares.

Sary-Arka- an airport located 22 km southeast of Karaganda and 200 km from Astana. One of the largest airports in Kazakhstan.

Story

The first Karaganda airport was created in February 1934. Initially, flights were carried out on U-2 aircraft, and since 1937 regular flights began passenger traffic with Alma-Ata on ANT-9 aircraft.

In 1944, the airport was relocated to the "New City" area, and in 1954 the construction of office premises began.

In 1959, an artificial turf runway and a one-story airport building were built, the airport was named "Karaganda (City)".

The first IL-18 (tail number 75689) from Alma-Ata landed on a concrete runway in the summer of 1961. He was also met twice by the hero Soviet Union, pilot Talgat Yakubovich Begeldinov (Alma-Ata). With the advent of the Il-18, the flight time to Moscow was reduced to 4 hours. 20 minutes. (until the summer of 1961, IL-14s flew to Moscow with intermediate landings in Kokchetav, Petropavlovsk, Kurgan, Sverdlovsk, Kazan with total time flight - about 15 hours.). First scheduled airlines on IL-18 were the following: flights No. 104/103 Alma-Ata-Karaganda-Moscow and back (1961); in 1962 flights No. 151/152 Tashkent-Karaganda-Omsk and back; No. 765/766 Alma-Ata-Karaganda-Mineralnye Vody-Adler (Sochi) and back, flight No. 961/962 Alma-Ata-Karaganda-Kuibyshev-Kyiv and back; 1963 (January) opening of flight No. 367/368 Alma-Ata-Karaganda-Sverdlovsk-Leningrad and back, and in 1965 this flight was supplemented, alternating by days of the week with landings in Kazan and Chelyabinsk; 1964: flight No. 1063/1064 Alma-Ata-Karaganda-Rostov-Simferopol and back; flight No. 741/742 Frunze (Bishkek)-Karaganda-Novosibirsk and back and in 1967, flight No. 3779/3780 Alma-Ata-Karaganda-Ufa-Riga and back was opened by the Latvian Civil Aviation Administration.

Since the autumn of 1963, the operation of the new An-24 aircraft began on republican airlines. First of all, flights were opened to Pavlodar and Semipalatinsk, and then, within 2-3 years, they began to fly to Ust-Kamenogorsk, Petropavlovsk, Dzhezkazgan, Kokchetav, Uralsk, Aktyubinsk, Guryev (Atyrau), Arkalyk, Alma-Ata, Chimkent , Dzhambul, Balkhash, Shevchenko (Aktau), Novosibirsk, Kemerovo. All open airlines functioned on a regular basis, for decades and all year round.

In 1963, the Start Hotel for transit passengers was opened next to the airport building.

Opened in 1973 new terminal attached to a one-story airport building.

By the end of the 1970s, direct regular air traffic connected Karaganda with more than 50 cities of the USSR.

In 1980, construction began on a new airport, called "Karaganda (Central)", the construction of the runway was completed in the same year, in record time, in six months. On November 4, 1980, the first Il-62 airliner (airborne - 86694) from Alma-Ata landed on the runway of the airfield, commander - Honored Pilot of the USSR Maryshev B.

In the mid 1980s civil Aviation was relocated from the "Gorodskoy" airfield to the new "Central" airfield. Until the early 1990s, the Gorodskoy airfield was used as a military one (a helicopter unit was based here), then it was closed. Today, the building of the old air terminal is located deep within the city, and a highway runs along the former runway of the Gorodskoy airfield.

In 1992, the airport "Central" was given the status of an international airport and the name "Sary-Arka".

The airport is now owned by a private company, which has announced its intention to bring the airport to the latest international standards and lengthen the runway.

Incidents

legends

According to some sources (oral testimonies of former employees of the Karaganda airport), the runway of the airfield could be used as one of the alternate airfields for landing the spaceplane of the Soviet reusable transport space system Buran. However, according to official data, there were only two suitably equipped alternate airfields for landing the Buran orbital spacecraft: Khorol (in the central part of Primorsky Krai, south of the lake Khanka) and "Western Alternate Airfield" (in the Crimea, near Simferopol).

The creation of other alternate airfields, especially so close to the Baikonur Cosmodrome, seems technically unjustified, since the orbiter had sufficient aerodynamic quality (i.e., it could glide far) to reach one of the three airfields (including the main landing airfield "Yubileiny" at the Baikonur Cosmodrome ) .

Archeology

In the area of Sary-Arka, not far from Karaganda, the expedition of the Saryarka Archaeological Institute unearthed a stepped mausoleum of the Begazy-Dandybay culture of the Late Bronze Age. Scientists believe that the mausoleum was erected in Sary-Arka more than 3 thousand years ago.

An excerpt characterizing Sary-Arka (airport)

“Where are you going? .. Where are you going? ..” he shouted at three infantry soldiers, who, without guns, picking up the skirts of their overcoats, slipped past him into the ranks. - Stop, rascals!
Yes, please collect them! replied another officer. - You won't collect them; we must go quickly so that the latter do not leave, that's all!
– How to go? there they became, hid on the bridge and did not move. Or put a chain so that the latter do not run away?
- Yes, go there! Drive them out! shouted the senior officer.
An officer in a scarf dismounted from his horse, called the drummer and entered with him under the arches. Several soldiers rushed to run in a crowd. The merchant, with red pimples on his cheeks near his nose, with a calmly unshakable expression of calculation on his well-fed face, hurriedly and dapperly, waving his arms, approached the officer.
“Your honor,” he said, “do me a favour, protect me. We do not calculate a trifle of any kind, we are with our pleasure! Please, I’ll take out the cloth now, for a noble person at least two pieces, with our pleasure! Because we feel, well, this is one robbery! Please! They would put a guard, or something, at least they would let them lock it up ...
Several merchants crowded around the officer.
- E! in vain to lie then! - said one of them, thin, with a stern face. “When you take off your head, you don’t cry for your hair. Take whatever you like! And he waved his hand with an energetic gesture and turned sideways to the officer.
“It’s good for you, Ivan Sidoritch, to speak,” the first merchant spoke angrily. “Please, your honor.
- What should I say! the thin man shouted. - I have here in three shops for a hundred thousand goods. Will you save when the army is gone. Eh, people, God's power cannot be folded with hands!
“Please, your honor,” said the first merchant, bowing. The officer stood in bewilderment, and hesitation was visible on his face.
- Yes, what's the matter with me! he suddenly shouted and walked with quick steps forward along the row. In one open shop, blows and curses were heard, and while the officer was approaching it, a man in a gray coat and with a shaved head jumped out of the door.
This man, bent over, slipped past the merchants and the officer. The officer attacked the soldiers who were in the shop. But at this time, the terrible cries of a huge crowd were heard on the Moskvoretsky bridge, and the officer ran out into the square.
- What's happened? What's happened? he asked, but his comrade was already galloping towards the screams, past St. Basil the Blessed. The officer mounted and rode after him. When he drove up to the bridge, he saw two cannons removed from the limbers, infantry walking along the bridge, several carts thrown down, several frightened faces and laughing faces of soldiers. Near the cannons stood one wagon drawn by a pair. Four collared greyhounds huddled behind the cart behind the wheels. There was a mountain of things on the wagon, and at the very top, next to the nursery, a woman was sitting with her legs turned upside down, squealing piercingly and desperately. The comrades told the officer that the cry of the crowd and the squeals of the woman came from the fact that General Yermolov, who had run into this crowd, having learned that the soldiers were dispersing around the shops, and crowds of residents were damming up the bridge, ordered to remove the guns from the limbers and make an example that he would shoot at the bridge . The crowd, knocking down the wagons, crushing each other, shouted desperately, crowding, cleared the bridge, and the troops moved forward.

Meanwhile, the city itself was empty. There was hardly anyone on the streets. The gates and shops were all locked; in some places, near the taverns, lonely cries or drunken singing were heard. No one traveled the streets, and footsteps of pedestrians were rarely heard. On Povarskaya it was completely quiet and deserted. In the huge yard of the Rostovs' house, there were scraps of hay, droppings of a convoy that had left, and not a single person was visible. In the Rostovs' house, which was left with all its goodness, two people were in a large living room. They were the janitor Ignat and the Cossack Mishka, Vasilyich's grandson, who remained in Moscow with his grandfather. Mishka opened the clavichords and played them with one finger. The janitor, akimbo and smiling joyfully, stood in front of a large mirror.
- That's clever! A? Uncle Ignat! said the boy, suddenly clapping both hands on the keys.
- Look you! answered Ignat, marveling at how his face was smiling more and more in the mirror.
- Shameless! Right, shameless! - the voice of Mavra Kuzminishna, who quietly entered, spoke from behind them. - Eka, fat watchman, he bares his teeth. To take you! Everything is not tidied up there, Vasilyich is knocked off his feet. Give it time!
Ignat, straightening his belt, ceasing to smile and meekly lowering his eyes, went out of the room.
“Aunty, I’ll take it easy,” said the boy.
- I'll give you a little. Shooter! shouted Mavra Kuzminishna, waving her hand at him. - Go build a samovar for your grandfather.
Mavra Kuzminishna, brushing off the dust, closed the clavichords and, with a heavy sigh, went out of the drawing room and locked the front door.
Going out into the yard, Mavra Kuzminishna thought about where she should go now: should I drink tea with Vasilyich in the wing or tidy up everything that had not yet been tidied up in the pantry?
Footsteps were heard in the quiet street. The steps stopped at the gate; the latch began to knock under the hand that tried to unlock it.
Mavra Kuzminishna went up to the gate.
- Who do you need?
- Count, Count Ilya Andreevich Rostov.
- Who are you?
- I'm an officer. I would like to see, - said a Russian pleasant and lordly voice.
Mavra Kuzminishna unlocked the gate. And a round-faced officer, about eighteen years old, with a type of face similar to the Rostovs, entered the yard.
- Let's go, father. They deigned to leave at Vespers yesterday,” said Mavra Kuzmipisna affectionately.
The young officer, standing at the gate, as if hesitant to enter or not to enter, clicked his tongue.
“Oh, what a shame!” he said. - I wish yesterday ... Oh, what a pity! ..
Mavra Kuzminishna, meanwhile, carefully and sympathetically examined the familiar features of the Rostov breed in the face young man, and the torn overcoat, and the worn boots that were on him.
Why did you need a count? she asked.
– Yeah… what to do! - the officer said with annoyance and took hold of the gate, as if intending to leave. He again hesitated.
– Do you see? he suddenly said. “I am related to the count, and he has always been very kind to me. So, you see (he looked at his cloak and boots with a kind and cheerful smile), and he wore himself, and there was nothing; so I wanted to ask the count ...
Mavra Kuzminishna did not let him finish.
- You could wait a minute, father. One minute, she said. And as soon as the officer released his hand from the gate, Mavra Kuzminishna turned and with a quick old woman's step went to the backyard to her outbuilding.
While Mavra Kuzminishna was running towards her, the officer, lowering his head and looking at his torn boots, smiling slightly, walked around the yard. “What a pity that I did not find my uncle. What a nice old lady! Where did she run? And how can I find out which streets are closer for me to catch up with the regiment, which should now approach Rogozhskaya? thought the young officer at that time. Mavra Kuzminishna, with a frightened and at the same time resolute face, carrying a folded checkered handkerchief in her hands, came out around the corner. Before reaching a few steps, she, unfolding her handkerchief, took out of it a white twenty-five-ruble note and hastily gave it to the officer.
- If their excellencies were at home, it would be known, they would, for sure, by kindred, but maybe ... now ... - Mavra Kuzminishna became shy and confused. But the officer, without refusing and without haste, took the paper and thanked Mavra Kuzminishna. “As if the count were at home,” Mavra Kuzminishna kept saying apologetically. - Christ be with you, father! God save you, - said Mavra Kuzminishna, bowing and seeing him off. The officer, as if laughing at himself, smiling and shaking his head, ran almost at a trot through the empty streets to catch up with his regiment to the Yauzsky bridge.
And Mavra Kuzminishna stood for a long time with wet eyes in front of the closed gate, shaking her head thoughtfully and feeling an unexpected surge of maternal tenderness and pity for the unknown officer.

In the unfinished house on Varvarka, at the bottom of which there was a drinking house, drunken screams and songs were heard. There were about ten factory workers sitting on benches by the tables in a small, dirty room. All of them, drunk, sweaty, with cloudy eyes, tensing up and opening their mouths wide, sang some kind of song. They sang apart, with difficulty, with an effort, obviously not because they wanted to sing, but only to prove that they were drunk and walking. One of them, a tall blond fellow in a clean blue coat, stood over them. His face, with a thin, straight nose, would have been beautiful, if not for thin, pursed, constantly moving lips and cloudy, frowning, motionless eyes. He stood over those who were singing, and, apparently imagining something, solemnly and angularly waved over their heads a white hand rolled up to the elbow, whose dirty fingers he unnaturally tried to spread out. The sleeve of his chuyka was constantly going down, and the fellow diligently rolled it up again with his left hand, as if there was something especially important in the fact that this white sinewy waving arm was always naked. In the middle of the song, shouts of a fight and blows were heard in the hallway and on the porch. The tall fellow waved his hand.
