Synevyr is a mountain lake in the Carpathians at an altitude of 989 meters above sea level. This miracle of nature is rightfully considered one of the main attractions of Transcarpathia.

Finding Lake Synevyr is not difficult - it is located 30 kilometers from the notorious Mezhyhirya. The lake was formed about 10,000 years ago, even in the post-glacial period, when mountains grew in the path of a fast river flow as a result of a shift, blocking its path with an insurmountable dam

Sea Eye is fed by four large streams and smaller underwater sources, and about 50-60 meters from the southeastern shore, a stream of lake water makes its way right through the slope, flowing down along the road

The water surface of Lake Synevyr occupies about 7 hectares, and the depth reaches 22 meters. Conventionally, the lake can be divided into northern, deeper, and southern parts, a kind of "barrier" between which is an underwater ridge, the height of which is different places ranges from one and a half to 11 meters

Where did this interesting beautiful name- ? There is one beautiful old legend about the origin of this word. A long time ago, there lived a wealthy count who had a daughter named Xin. One day, the count decided to check if the lumberjacks were cheating on him, and his daughter asked to go with him. While her father was talking to the woodcutters, Xin decided to take a walk in the woods. And so, she was slowly walking through the forest, picking flowers, when suddenly the magic sounds of a flute reached the girl's ears. Xin decided to find out where they were coming from, and soon she went out onto the lawn, on the elevation of which, among the grazing sheep, sat the young shepherd Vir, from whose pipe the melody that bewitched the girl came. She asked him to play her again and again - and so on until the very evening, when it was time for her to return home. But before leaving, Xin promised to return, and over time, they began to secretly see each other more and more often. When the count found out about his daughter's secret hobby, he gave her a serious thrashing and forbade her to meet with the shepherd, but the father's prohibitions did not stop the girl in love. Then the count threatened Vir that he would execute him if he did not back down from his daughter, but the shepherd was not afraid of the threats of the strict count. Then the count ordered to kill the boy. The count's servants pushed a huge boulder onto the shepherd who was waiting for the girl, and Xin, who came soon, saw what had happened to her beloved, hugged his stone "grave" and wept bitterly. The girl's tears flooded the entire clearing, and soon Xin herself disappeared into the blue waters. huge lake. People named this lake in honor of their beloved - Synevyr. The water in the lake is the color of Blue's eyes, and in the middle of the blue expanse rises a small island - the place where Vir died. It is thanks to this island that Lake Synevyr was popularly nicknamed "Sea Eye"

On the shore of the lake there are, reflected in the quiet water surface, the figures of Sinya and Vir, carved in 1984 from wood by sculptors Ivan Brovdi and Mikhail Sanich

In lakeside forests, among others, 38 species grow unique plants and there are 20 species of unique animals listed in the Red Book, so these lands are considered a National Natural Park. The lake itself is full of trout.

Another feature of Synevyr is the fact that it never overflows its banks - neither during the most violent floods, nor during the melting of mountain snows.

Finally, I would like to show Lake Synevyr in slightly cooler weather conditions

Why do people go to mountains? In the mountains, everyone finds his own excuse, someone wants to run away from his wife, someone from the bustle of the city and people, and someone vice versa, in search of loneliness and peace. At any time of the year, the mountains are beautiful and attractive, they are mysterious and photogenic. What could be better than waking up early in the morning on top of a mountain, and jumping out of a warm sleeping bag, quickly reach the very edge in order to have time to take a sip of the morning, invigorating air and photograph the sunrise. Maricheyka

Another lake in the Carpathians in the Chornohora massif. It is located at an altitude of 1510 m above sea level in the southern part of the Carpathian national park, on the northeastern slope of Mount Shurin. Maricheyka is a relatively small lake 88 m long, 45 m wide and less than a meter deep, surrounded on all sides by dense smerekovy forest.

The legend about the origin of the lake is tragic. The girl Marichka was going to her fiancé, the shepherd Ivan, in the mountains, but she saw that enemies were approaching the village from behind the pass. She persuaded Ivana Marichka to run and warn everyone, and she herself undertook to divert the attention of the troops, taking them further along the Carpathian paths. As a result, Marichka died. According to one version of the legend, the lake arose from the tears of Ivan, whose bride was killed by enemies. According to another version, the Carpathians themselves shook from a brutal murder, a gorge opened up, stones fell, a strong thunderstorm began. Nature raged until the remains of the killers were buried under the stones and waters of the lake. Since then, the lake bears the name of that girl, and the forest around its banks is called Maiden's.

Gerashaska (Dogyaska)

If you are in the famous Carpathian ski resort Dragobrat, take a walk to the picturesque natural ensemble - the cascading 7-meter Dragobrat waterfall and the Gerashaska lake located above it. You can take a walk to it from the Dragobrat ski resort.

According to legend, this lake in the Carpathians was also formed due to the tears of a beautiful Carpathian girl. For the location of one of the two twin brothers who fell in love with her, she asked to get a rare edelweiss flower from Bliznitsa Mountain. The brothers, seeing the same flower on the nearest rock, rushed headlong to fulfill the whim of the beauty. However, loose mountain trails dangerous, so one of the brothers fell down, and the second, trying to save him, also died. The proud Hutsul woman inconsolably mourned the loss, a lake arose from her tears, and when local gendarmes arrived at the scene of the tragedy, they turned to stone from what they saw and turned into rocks. Now the path leading to the lake passes by rocky ledges called Gendarmes, and the area itself has become known as Dragobrat.

And today the descent to the lake is very dangerous, tourists are strongly advised to go down very carefully. The views around the lake are very picturesque. Gorgany, and the Montenegrin ridge, and Mount Petros, and the resort "Dragobrat" will be visible.

Apshinets

Another lake in the Carpathians in the Svidovets mountain range. It is located at an altitude of 1487 m above sea level, its length is 126 m, its width is about 100 m, and its depth is up to 3.3 m. But as soon as they began to swim, a thunderstorm came up, and the waters of the lake covered the brothers in a big wave, dragging them into the depths. Since then, a disconsolate mother came to the lake and asked the lake why it was so hostile, that it took away her two sons, and the Carpathian wind only carried fragments of the word “hostile” (Ukrainian vorozhe) around the neighborhood. This is how the name of this lake in the Carpathians appeared - Vorozheska.

Lebedin (Swan Lake)

This lake in the Carpathians is located on the territory of the protected natural boundary Lebedyn, which is part of the National natural park"Hutsulshchyna" in the Pokutsko-Bukovina Carpathians. It is located on the southern slope of the Lebedin Ridge at an altitude of 650 m and is surrounded on all sides by a beech forest. When studying it, it was revealed that despite its small size (the area of \u200b\u200bits water surface is 3500 sq. M), Swan has a very great depth- The 12-meter pole of researchers never reached the bottom, its estimated depth can reach 28 m. Due to a large number leaves falling into this lake in the Carpathians, its waters are saturated with hydrogen sulfide. It is surrounded not only by forests, but also by small meadows, where 17 representatives of the flora from the Red Book of Ukraine grow.

Crane (Dead Lake)

Another lake in the Carpathians with a high level of hydrogen sulfide, which is why higher living organisms do not live in its waters. This mountain lake is located in the Carpathians in the Skole Beskydy massif on the territory of the national park of the same name. Dark water and bubbles rising to its surface, as well as the folk sad glory of a dead place (the area around it is really marshy and dangerous, especially during the snowmelt period) made this lake in the Carpathians mysterious, which attracts modern tourists.

As in the case swan lake, it is unlikely that it will be possible to measure the depth of Zhuravliny because of the fallen tree trunks covering its bottom. get to dead lake you can go southeast from the village of Dubina, as well as from the village of Skole (8.5 km). The lake is 50-70 m long, up to 20 m wide, and its depth after rains or during the period of snow melt can reach 4.8 m.

Travelers can find this secluded lake in the Carpathians on the southern slope of the Arshitsya ridge, in the Gorgany mountain range. The lake is very picturesque, the water in it is so clear that every stone at the bottom is visible. But do not even hope to pitch tents on its banks, because a dense dusky forest reaches its steep and rocky banks. Below Rosokhan is the Grofetsky pond, which becomes shallow and swampy in summer, but it is still sometimes confused with the lake itself. You can go to the pond from the saddle between the mountains of Grofa and Kon-Grofetsky.
