Schengen entitles you to move freely between the 26 countries of the agreement. Documents must be submitted no earlier than 90 days before the trip. It is recommended to apply at least 15 calendar days before the trip. Although the requirements of the embassies of all countries of the treaty are almost the same, but there are no border control, it is not recommended to obtain a visa to Denmark if you will spend most of the days in another country. Your documents may not be accepted and sent to another Embassy, ​​or a refusal may be issued. If you change your hotel reservation after the visa has been issued and try to hide it, your visa may be canceled when checking at the border.

Visa fees

• The standard visa fee charged by the Danish consulate is 35 euros.
• If the application is submitted 3 days before the desired date of receipt of the finished passport, a double fee of 70 euros must be paid.
• Intermediaries may charge additional processing fees. For example, visa centers take an amount of about 1200 rubles. Travel agencies charge even more.
• In case of refusal, the money is not returned.

You need to pay the fees in the equivalent amount in rubles at the exchange rate when applying. Children under 6 years of age, disabled people and their accompanying persons, as well as relatives of residents of the Schengen zone are exempted from payment.

The main list of documents for all categories of travelers:

• in one copy, filled in Latin and printed on two A4 sheets on both sides ( and ).   • Salary certificate from work. It should contain the full details of the organization and your passport data, position, length of service, average salary, granting you another vacation while maintaining your job. Recommended salary - at least 20,000 per month.
  • For individual entrepreneurs: certificate of USRN and TIN, declaration of income (for the simplified tax system, you can submit a declaration for the last year).
  • Another option for children, pensioners, students, officially unemployed: get a sponsorship letter from a third party or a relative who will guarantee the payment of your travel and living expenses in Denmark. It is accompanied by certificates of income of the sponsor, and a copy of his passport for verification of signatures.

The main rule when obtaining any visa is to prove 4 things:

• Purpose of the visit.
• Availability of transport there / back.
• Availability of a place to live.

Based on the documents provided, the Consulate, when considering the application, will determine how likely it is that you will not return back to the country within the allowable period. For tourists:

• Round trip tickets (original and copy). Do not rush to pay for tickets without a visa! Many airline tickets (especially cheap ones) cannot be returned, and in case of refusal or a long review of documents, you can lose money. With some airlines, you can get a reservation without payment (for example, through Aeroflot).

For a private visit by invitation to relatives or friends:

• Invitation letter from a private person. It should contain information about both parties (contacts and personal details), the nature of the relationship between you, the dates and purposes of the trip, information about the place of residence and payment of expenses. You must either be guaranteed payment of expenses and accommodation, or you must prove it yourself (it is advisable to additionally prove your own income).
• Proof of the legal residence of the inviting person, for example, a copy of the passport or residence permit.

Business visa (for meetings with business partners, business negotiations):

• An invitation letter from an organization from Denmark, indicating the purpose and duration of the trip, full contacts and details of both parties, information about who will pay the expenses and provide accommodation.
• A cover letter from a Russian employer, indicating the purpose of the trip, position, income. For individual entrepreneurs, instead of it - documents on registration of individual entrepreneurs, TIN and tax declaration or statement from settlement accounts for at least the last 3 months.
• If the host party does not guarantee accommodation and payment of expenses, the relevant documents confirming their existence.

For transit:

• Proof of travel to a third country: plane tickets and visa (if required).
• Proof of accommodation for transit days: printout of the hotel reservation.

A transit visa to Denmark is only done if you want to leave transit zone airport, or you will pass the Schengen area by car for up to 5 days. • Insurance.

• Certificate from a school or other educational institution.
