UNIQUE AHUN TOWER

The tower on this mountain Akhun bears the same name, that is, it is referred to as Akhunskaya, 3 years ago it became the winner of the “Ten Visual Symbols of the Country”.

The famous Akhun was built in the Romanesque European style of the Middle Ages, and the walls here are made of white very durable limestone. This building has an old amazing view although it is not yet hundreds of years old. The Akhun tower was built in 1936 according to the order of Stalin himself, who loved to relax here very much. When he ascended Akhun, he was simply delighted with the local view and immediately gave an order to build a tower and a high road here.

The construction of the road itself was started already in 1935, and it was built in just three months, this is a record and unique time. Because of the haste, the builders cheated, so they had to finish and change something here. Further, in 101 days, the tower itself was erected, which stands here and sows the day in its original form, and this structure was built from local resistant limestone.

S.I. Vorobyov was then involved in drawing up such a project, this famous architect who worked in Sochi for a very long time. The tower has a height of about 30 meters, so visitors will be able to view the surroundings from here from a height of 700 meters, this is the height of the tower itself plus the mountain. Stalin himself, unfortunately, did not see this amazing and chic building.

HOW TO GET TO AHUN TOWER

To get to famous tower Akhun, I drove a car from Kurortny Prospekt and then drove to the Sochi-Adler highway, after which there was a Novorossiysk highway going to the right and down along the sea, according to the sign for Bolshoy Akhun. Further, the serpentine of the road itself is located, consisting of numerous rather complex bends, having passed this long climb, I ended up at the foot of the tower itself, where there is a convenient parking lot 80 meters away.

It will be almost impossible to get lost here, but if you are here for the first time, then use the navigator, where this path is referred to as "Road Road to Big Akhun Street". The road to Akhun goes from the boarding house itself, called "Sputnik" in Khost. AGUR WATERFALLS, HOW TO GET TO

I have already talked about how to get to the Agur waterfalls faster, but I will briefly remind you one more time. First you need to take a minibus or a car to a stop called "Agura", another bus number 112 goes there, just ask the driver to stop immediately before the fork to the waterfalls, so you will get there faster. Next, you need to go down the road, where the sign is set to the left - this is to the waterfall, and also the sign to the right - this is to Akhun. To continue hiking to Mount Akhun from the waterfall you need to return to the fork and choose the path on the left, it will go through the stream. Sometimes the angle of the earth was more than 45 degrees and we had to make our way by grabbing trees. The exposed areas of the skin were scratched by branches, thorns and were bitten by insects. It was even more difficult to turn back, it remained only to move forward, until we finally reached the path. There is only one conclusion: you need to be very careful and have a navigator. Unless, of course, you want to feel like a real climber and test your strength and endurance.

Climbing the mountain, we were met by a strange fence, empty booths and an untidy yard. Further on, a view of the street opened, on both sides of which there were cars, tents with souvenirs and food, restaurants, toilets (with a funny inscription “Run”), a Ferris wheel and an observation tower. The price of rides on the Ferris wheel for adults is 300 rubles. The entrance fee to the observation tower is 100 rubles. And here the tickets were issued “fake”: with the inscription “Arboretum” and the view as if from a trash can. But the view from the tower...
