Get your sleep kit ready. Backpacks, suitcases and bags on wheels

If you travel frequently by plane or have ever had to endure long flights, then you can probably imagine how tiring it can be. That's why we've put together a few for you. useful tips, which will help you fly in comfort and land fresh and rested.

The best seat in the cabin is by the window

Choosing a place near the window, you kill several birds with one stone: firstly, you can lean on the wall to take a nap, and secondly, the neighbors will not bother you to go out. And, of course, you will be provided with a wonderful view.

Choose comfortable clothes

The times when the most sophisticated outfits were chosen for traveling by plane are long gone - give preference to comfortable and convenient clothes that will not hinder your movements.

During long flights, the temperature in the cabin can change, so it is best to dress in "layers", such as a T-shirt, sweater, sweatshirt. Don't forget to bring warm socks with you so you can take off your shoes and stay warm.

Take water with you, cut out caffeine and alcohol

To avoid dehydration, remember to drink By more water During the flight. The glasses offered by the flight attendants are not too big, and in order not to wait once again, it is better to stock up on a few bottles of water (don't forget to buy it only after baggage inspection).

It is better to give up drinks containing caffeine: it interferes with sleep, increases dehydration. Alcohol may relieve some tension, but it can also lead to dehydration and lethargy.

Take care of your skin

Humidity levels are very low on board an aircraft, so our skin is the first to suffer. To avoid discomfort, follow these tips:

Direct the airflow of the air conditioner anywhere other than your face.

If the skin begins to shine, wipe the face with cleansing wipes and apply a moisturizer.

Don't spray water on your face as this will dry out your skin even more. Or blot it with a tissue after spraying.

Get comfortable in your chair

From a long sitting, the legs become numb and the back is very tired, and the seats on the plane are not very comfortable. Place a pillow, folded scarf or sweater under your lower back, and don't forget to cover yourself with a blanket. It is better to ask for a pillow and a blanket as soon as you get on board the plane (sometimes they run out quickly).

Also remember: the higher your feet are, the better, so try placing them directly on your own luggage under the seat in front of you.

Stock up on everything you need for a comfortable sleep

Instead of massive gadgets like a large laptop and a few thick books, it is better to take a bag with things useful in flight with you on the plane. With them, even in economy class, you will be able to sleep and relax:

Ear plugs or noise canceling headphones.

Mask for sleep.

Pillow for neck support.

How to prevent stuffy ears

Due to pressure drops, especially during takeoff and landing, unpleasant stuffiness can appear in the ears. To get rid of it, try to yawn widely, make several swallowing movements, suck on lollipops.

Try to move

It is not easy to spend several hours in one position: the body becomes numb, and the blood accumulates in the lower extremities and does not reach the upper body. Try to get up at least once an hour from your chair, and also do a little warm-up right in your chair: some airlines print special exercise notes for their passengers.

Take a healthy snack with you

The low levels of pressure and humidity on board lead to a decrease in the sensitivity of the taste buds. It is for this reason that airlines add to their meals a large number of spices, salt and sugar, and this is not always beneficial. Think about a snack that is convenient to take with you on a plane: fruits, nuts, yogurt.

Plan your flight

It is useful to divide a long flight into small intervals - and now it no longer looks so menacing. You can watch films or programs for which there was not enough time, do things that have been put off for a long time - write letters, make an entry in your diary, start an interesting book.

Plus, do not forget about the time for sleep, lunch, takeoff and landing - and now your flight is coming to an end, and you are cheerful, fresh and full of strength and inspiration.

Bring your headphones on the plane

The accessories given out on board are usually not new, although they are carefully packaged. Used accessories are cleaned after the flight and then repackaged. This means that their use is not entirely safe in terms of personal hygiene, so it's better to bring your own.

Get rid of old marks on your suitcase and don't waste time putting locks

Here are some tips from airport staff. Firstly, the locks on the suitcases are easily opened to inspect the luggage. Therefore, do not waste time hanging locks, but it is better to take valuables with you to the salon.

It's summer, which means you're probably going on vacation soon. Knowing all sorts of “little tricks” will make air travel pleasant and comfortable, which you will not surprise frequent flying advanced air passengers - but they can become a revelation for those who fly, say, once a year.

Test yourself. Do you know that…

...Applause after landing gives you not an expert in aviation, but a savage who saw the plane for the first time, because applause is not even heard in the cockpit. If you want to thank the crew for a pleasant flight, you can pass a few kind words to the flight attendants as you exit the plane. And in some airlines, one of the pilots goes into the cabin to see off the passengers - then you can thank them personally.

... There are two fundamentally different approaches to setting baggage allowances. Weight concept (according to the total weight) or Piece concept (according to the number of pieces of luggage) - of course, it is more convenient for airlines to limit you to places, because it is more convenient to load one large suitcase than many small ones. Norm free transportation baggage can be, depending on the airline and fare, from 0 to 32 kg. The weight of one suitcase cannot exceed 32 kg due to the fact that loaders, due to working conditions, cannot lift heavier objects. However, a container of pood weights can always be sent through the cargo terminal.

... Luggage in 99.98% of cases is not lost, but delayed. For three weeks, exactly this percentage is found lost luggage- and then they stop looking for it and consider it lost. And sometimes luggage is “lost” due to the human factor: on transfer flights, luggage may not be checked in until destination, and transfer to the airport. Therefore, you always need to clarify where the luggage is checked in at the check-in desk. Delayed baggage should be delivered to your home or hotel free of charge, and the cost of essential items that you had to buy again while you wait can be obtained from the airline.

... On board, it is not at all necessary to choke on the offered sandwiches, but you can bring your own food on the plane. The restrictions apply to liquids - this is a fact, but there are very few products on the stop list, so you can put a real homemade lunch into a container - from salad to cake. You just have to somehow live without soup, jam and the like, but some manage to brew doshirak during the flight.

…If you are too lazy to cook, you can order for free special meals, which has several dozen species ( baby food, allergic, medicinal, dietary, religious, vegetarian and others). It is usually much tastier and more plentiful than the standard one, and often allows you to discover gastronomic features this or that national cuisine. Try it! The most interesting thing is that it is kosher, but some airlines are so tired of this life hack that they only offer it on flights to Israel. So order before it's cancelled.

… Savings on low-cost airlines can be very doubtful. After all, they save low cost airlines just on what most passengers are not ready to give up. Nevertheless, if you decide, then you have a great choice: in addition to our Pobeda, 13 foreign air discounters operate flights to Russian airports). But be prepared for the fact that the “10 euro tickets” that someone told you about will turn out to be something like $ 100 iPhones: when it comes to buying, it turns out that you will pay significantly more - sometimes even several once. Low-cost airlines may ask you to pay extra for hand luggage, for a piece of baggage, for meals during the flight, etc.

... You can fly cheap not only with a discounter, but also with a charter flight. To buy a ticket for chartered flight, it is not necessary to have a ticket: even without it, travel agencies are willing to sell “burning” places at a cheap price. It is only important to know on what days these places really cost three kopecks: there are subtleties here. It's all about the intervals: if a travel agency sells vouchers for 2 weeks, then you will also need to fly for these two weeks without a voucher, because. places are redeemed on the basis of the principle that as many people fly back as there are.

... But to buy tickets for scheduled flights on sites where they are offered suspiciously cheap, it is not worth it. Most likely they are scammers. Fortunately, the ways of "divorce" are well known. The main thing to remember is that there can not be a large variation in prices. All agents earn on a commission that is 1-5%, so you can only get a big discount if you buy some Additional services where the commission is much higher. True, it is not clear why buy conditional insurance against alien invasion at exorbitant prices.

... Tickets for the same flight can be sold at different prices even in the same place - for example, on the airline's website. The difference in price is due to the fact that the fare rules are different. For example, non-refundable ticket from Moscow to New York can easily cost the same as returning to St. Petersburg, the conditions for return and exchange, the number of allowed stopovers may differ (this is when you can spend several days in the city where there will be a transfer), etc. This should always be taken into account when comparing the cost of tickets to different destinations. However, non-refundable ticket can also be submitted.

…You can spend time in the airport business lounge absolutely free of charge if you buy an additional business class return ticket for any flight and return it later without actually flying anywhere. True, you should not abuse this: not so long ago, a German who did this almost daily just to live at the airport with full board was “banned” from the airline and deprived of all bonus miles. Those who earn miles honestly have a chance to transfer to business class and directly on the plane - without surcharges and tricks with tickets. In some cases, this can be done on purpose by spending miles, but with overbooking, that is, when more tickets are sold than there are seats on the plane, owners of gold and silver cards quite a "upgrade".

…Comfortable seats can also be taken in the economy class. The main thing is not to listen to amateurish advice from those who rarely fly and say something like: "In a Boeing, the best place is 10A." In the same planes, even of the same airline, the numbering of seats and the layout of the cabin can be different, so a systematic approach is important here. How to choose the best place in airplane? There are only two main criteria: firstly, this is the distance between the seats (the largest emergency exits and in the front row of one of the sections of the aircraft), and secondly, the distance from the kitchen and toilets. At the window or at the aisle - it depends on what you prefer: the opportunity to enjoy gorgeous view in the window during the flight or the ability to get up and walk around the plane without disturbing the neighbors. However, in the first row at the porthole, you can get up and walk around without disturbing anyone.

…Online registration will most often not allow you to choose the most convenient places(for example, at emergency exits). However, it is still better to use it to protect yourself from two evils: a toilet seat between two fat men or overbooking. However, sometimes overbooking can even be useful: if you are not in a hurry, you can get money or miles and take a walk in a new city for yourself. By registering on the site, you can check in your luggage at a separate counter, where there is no queue, and if you are flying only with hand luggage, you can immediately go to the plane.

…Even canceling a flight can have its charms, if you're not in a hurry, of course. It is very easy to spend time usefully so that it does not seem lost to you. You will be sent either on the next flight, or on an alternative route, or your money will be returned, and if necessary, you will be accommodated in a hotel. But, of course, you may not be lucky, especially if you are flying to an important event “back to back”. Better to have at least a day left.

... Being late for a flight does not always put an end to your journey. If the plane took off without you, sometimes you can save the day. Even a non-refundable ticket can often be exchanged for a later flight with a surcharge, the main thing is to do this before departure, for example, on the road.

...Old planes do not exist. They are either allowed to fly or not, and the chances of getting into a disaster on a forty-year-old An-24 are no greater than on a new Boeing-777. Although, of course, the level of comfort in new aircraft is higher. And new planes can sometimes fly over more short routes than the old ones - there are a huge number of certifications and approvals for a specific aircraft model that affect its route. Moreover, flying in one direction is always faster than in the other: it's all about the wind, which in one case is favorable, and in the other - oncoming.

I sleep on the plane.
Always.
Economy or business, it doesn't matter. I don't know what jet lag is because life is so short and for most of us it is absolutely unacceptable to spend 1-2 days adjusting to a new time zone after long flight. Therefore, you need to sleep on board so that upon arrival you can immediately start exploring a new place, and not hobble to the hotel in search of a pillow.

Many people think that it is enough to knock over 50 grams of cognac to fall asleep, but in fact, you can do without alcohol at all, because there are so many more important nuances!

Today I will share my secrets, I am sure that some of you have not even heard of!
And you tell us about your tips that increase the comfort and pleasure of the flight.

0. Not getting enough sleep before the flight

This is the most important rule. I don’t know why, but this item always comes out very naturally for me, the completion of some current affairs and packing at the last moment at night, an early departure, etc. All this leads to the fact that on board I am already ready to sleep before takeoff. But I really like in-flight meals, so I turn off only after lunch :)

It is very important to try to switch to sleep mode during the flight in the time zone where you are flying and not allow yourself to relax and take a nap for a couple of hours upon arrival, this will only worsen and lengthen adaptation. Jetlag is an excuse, if you arrived - immediately live in local time.

1. Select right place on board

This is very important for a comfortable flight! I wrote a great article on how to choose a seat on an airplane, be sure to read it:

seatguru.com (or smartphone app) should be a must on your checklist before any air travel.

But regarding the current topic of the article on how to properly sleep on an airplane, I have one important addition. Before choosing a seat on board, be sure to read real route your flight, because Earth round and the plane overcomes shortest distance from point A to point B, for those who fly infrequently or for the first time, it becomes a discovery at all, looking at the monitor screen during the flight. After all, we are all used to flat maps.

Why is this important to know and how can it interfere with your sleep?

If you like to sit by the window, then depending on the direction of the flight, the time of day and the difference in time zones, the sun can shine in your direction for the entire flight, heating the closed window shade very strongly, it is always hotter on the sunny side of the plane, which reduces comfort and, accordingly , you will not get enough sleep and get tired more compared to a place with opposite side. In the bright sun, even the porthole shutter is unpleasant to open, not to mention the glare when taking pictures.

And absolutely all the nuances are important!

Enter "flight number + flightaware or flightradar24" into the search engine:

For example, a daytime flight Istanbul - San Francisco TK79 in the air for 12 hours, but departs around noon from Istanbul and arrives in San Francisco in the afternoon. Due to the difference in time zones and overcoming them from east to west during the day, the sun is almost most flight will be on the port side. Those. a window seat on the right will be much more comfortable.

Flight Vladivostok-Moscow a / c "Russia", the upper deck of the Boeing-747.
Day flight from east to west - notice how much lighter on the left (and hot, stuffy) than on the right. The sun is on the left side of the board for the entire 9 hours of the flight.

Don't forget to close the window shade when flying from west to east at night if you plan to sleep!
Dawn will come much faster than you expect due to the difference in time zones and the rays of the bright sun will wake you up literally an hour or two after going to bed.

LIFE HACK:

On the lower deck of the Airbus A380, sitting by the window is less comfortable, because due to the curvature of the fuselage, there is a very large distance between the outer seat by the window and the wall, it will not work to put your head on one side, resting against the wall, the pillow constantly falls through. So choose your seat upper deck if possible, it is more comfortable to sleep there, the fuselage is rounded just at the level of your head:

Also on the upper deck there is an additional compartment for personal items at the level of the armrest of the chair. Again, all this is due to the curvature of the fuselage of the double-deck side of the A380

LIFE HACK:

If you are flying on a large long-haul airliner with an incomplete load, then I advise you to walk from the end of the cabin during landing, look for the presence of free rows of middle seats. If they are, then keep at the "low start" and immediately after the flight attendant's phrase "boarding complete" - transfer. If you wait for takeoff with thoughts of transferring later, then you will definitely be ahead of you.

2. Buy the right headphones

The right headphones for air travel are a must-have active noise canceling system. The headphones have a microphone that receives ambient noise and inverts its frequency in reverse, i.e. With headphones, even with the music turned off, you hear almost nothing. I myself was skeptical of advertising until I tried Bose headphones on board the Lufthansa in business class, although I had previously worn them in airport shops. After that flight, I immediately ordered them in the Swiss duty-free shop with the delivery of the purchase on board my next flight (it was the Zurich-Singapore flight).

My main flight headphones are the Bose QC25. Yes, they are not compact, but they have an excellent case, there is an adapter for the headphone input of the on-board entertainment system.

One of the ear pads has an Active Noise Cancellation switch, turn it on during the flight and ... "sweet dreams"! The noise around you is turned off! The system works very well for monotonous noise of any intensity (engine noise), but poorly for harsh sounds, so you still hear important announcements or the noise of a crying baby.

3. Sleep accessories: mask, earplugs, pillow.

Mask for sleep.
I don't really like a sleep mask, it often has tight elastic bands. I have a lot of masks from travel kits, but I love one and have been using it for years, I flew with Aerosvit mask for five years, now I have a LOT mask for half a year :)

LIFE HACK:
Instead of a mask, you can use a silk scarf over your eyes, it does not press with elastic bands and is more tactile and pleasant for the eyes.

Earplugs.
I never use earplugs. But he indicated them in the article, many use it.

Air travel pillow.
I don’t use a bagel pillow, a good soft pillow takes up too much space, and I don’t like inflatable ones.

LIFE HACK:
You can take a pillowcase with you for a small ordinary home pillow and place folded outerwear in it. It will turn out a great compact and pleasant to the body pillow.

4. Cosmetics for comfort and relaxation

Airplanes are dry and often hot. The most comfortable level of air humidity for us is from 50% to 60%. However, on board the aircraft, the humidity is usually not higher than 20-30%, which corresponds to altitudes of 1.5-2 km (of course, with reservations).

Please note that the time for a complete air exchange in the aircraft cabin is 3-5 minutes, so odors do not linger in the cabin.

For comfortable flight I always carry moisturizer with me.

Moisturizing cream
- Hygienic lipstick
- Salin or Aquamaris (nasal spray to moisturize the nasal mucosa)
- Systein (moisturizing eye drops)

And also thermal water-spray - just to freshen up instead of washing.

LIFE HACK:
If you do not have the necessary cosmetics with you, then it is always available in the form of testers in duty-free shops at airports. Therefore, take a face wash with you (creams should only be applied to clean skin) and use the necessary face and body creams in the store before boarding the plane. This is also justified from a practical point of view - to reduce weight hand luggage. For example, I have 100+ flights a year, I have my own preferences in travel cosmetics, but why buy it if I use this cosmetic only before the flight and it is always available at all airports in the world and the range is the same everywhere. On the plane, I take cosmetics in small containers (the one in the photo) for optional use, I always use it at the airport.

Don't forget about water! In conditions of dry air and a long flight, the body dehydrates very quickly, all this leads to fatigue and discomfort. The glass of water offered during lunch is absolutely not enough. Be sure to drink as much water as possible during the entire long flight.

LIFE HACK:
Take an empty bottle with you and ask the flight attendants to fill it with water. Before flying in Europe, you can get water from the tap at the airport, it is drinkable. And a tumbler glass with a lid. And then they give very small portions of tea: not enough, drink hot, it's scary to spill ... A glass is much more convenient.

5. Sleepwear: light pants, warm socks and a sweatshirt!

Be sure to take a light change of clothes with you on a long flight. Simple things seem to be, but, I repeat once again - absolutely everything is important! I take light and compact summer trousers with me.

Take warm wool socks. In an airplane, feet are usually cold. How can you sleep if your feet are cold? No way.

But my main secret is the right sweatshirt with a low hood that covers the eyes. Thanks to him, I often do not wear a sleep mask, it is more comfortable to breathe in it and it is dark.

My favorites right now are Uniqlo and Aviasales sweatshirts. I always take one of them with me on board. If I'm not sleeping, it rolls up perfectly into a ball under the elbow or under the lumbar region.

Voila!

He put on a hood - the light turned off ...
I put on my headphones - the sound turned off ...
The world around is paused and I sleep until the announcement of the start of the decline :)

I don't write about drugs - melatonin, etc. I have never tried it myself, if necessary - consult a doctor.
And alcohol is an individual matter.

In general, my set of things that I definitely take on board looks like this. But I will write a separate post about it and some of the nuances.

Tell us about your secrets that increase the comfort and pleasure of the flight?

Cheap tickets with handy filters for baggage in the fare and much more I'm looking for only here: Aviasales! Aviasales searches for flights everywhere, and you choose where it is more profitable to buy. Honest, simple and transparent.

I am always online

It is very easy to fly on an airplane with a child, regardless of the age and temperament of the baby. Surprised? I tell you how to prepare for the flight, how to take a child on an airplane and not go crazy!

Any mother from time to time needs to change the situation and it doesn’t matter where she goes with her child to her husband’s relatives or with her grandmother to the sea. I am sure that rest with the whole family is possible and no matter what age the baby has. In my piggy bank there are more than 20 flights with an active slider, a walker and a slider. I already wrote on the topic of flying with a baby, but after re-reading it, I decided to collect only the most necessary in this text.

1. Night or day flight?

It's up to mom! She can be ready in case of force majeure not to sleep at night and then sleepy and exhausted all day to be sweet and friendly with the child. Or maybe you want to get enough sleep at night, and enjoy the trip during the day, cheerful and contented. I want to sleep at night, and not hold the baby in my arms (even if he sleeps in the cradle, you need to look after him, even if in a sling - his shoulders get tired). There is no guarantee that there will be a free seat next to you, because on some flights the plane is packed to capacity. And the place to sleep is not the best.

To a child who sleeps beautifully to loud screams in shopping malls and it’s not the first time it flies, it doesn’t matter where to dream. If he has a lot of impressions every day and he is not interested in the arrangement of chair backs or huge airport halls, then the dream will be sound.

For the most part, kids are interested in everything, so small man will constantly wake up, which will eventually affect his adaptation to the new climate, as he will want to sleep. Don't you want to sleep after a night flight? No matter how super-comfortable the seats on the plane are, the body rests more on the bed. I repeat, it's up to mom and only her!

2. What to take with you to the cabin?
It all depends on the age of the child. In general, we have 11 out of 20 flights, when the kid still didn’t have a balance bike. However, there is a set of universal things:

  • Favorite food. Children are not always happy with what is offered on board, and they may want to eat earlier. A universal set for babies up to a year old: water (if older than 7 months) in a baby bottle, baby food in an appropriate jar, dryers, an apple. For those who are older: cookies or buns, caramel, sweets, water or juice. Older than one and a half in the course may already be different. For example, our two-year-old honors boiled eggs))))
  • Socks. Even if you fly in the summer, it can get cold in the cabin. I'm not talking about the fact that it's not always sterile)))
  • Wet wipes. If the child is very small and crawling, then after examining the passage between the seats, he should wipe his hands. Older kids need to wipe their hands before eating. Quite crumbs - to wipe the ass. Plenty of options!
  • Disposable diaper. For those who do not yet walk or crawl. To change a diaper by laying on the changing table, which is in the toilets on board.
  • Toy. A new toy with which you can do something. Those. disassemble, assemble, poke, pull, rattle, and so on. But it is advisable to save it for a last resort. After two years, you can already try "travel kits", but it all depends on the skills and preferences of the child. Someone likes to draw, someone likes to roll cars, and someone likes a cartoon. It is better, of course, to have the entire arsenal at once.
  • Sling or ergo backpack. If the child is small, then when he falls asleep and the plane lands, you can easily take a person without waking him up. If the mother flies alone, then go to the toilet or eat - her hands are free, and the baby is sleeping. He, too, will not be out of place for a walker, if he suddenly runs away through the airport to impotence.
  • Change of clothes. Ideal for mom too. Anything can happen: food smeared, juice spilled, a diaper leaking.

3. If it lays ears?
A child under the age of one year, without pathologies, does not feel discomfort at all during takeoff or landing. But, if the mother has anxiety or the baby is tired, then she can offer him a breast (for artificial ones, a nipple).

For older children, I recommend taking caramel and giving it on takeoff and landing, but it may not work with everyone. I do this with my husband. He does not tolerate flights well.)))) Max does not like sweets, but he began to ask for water after two years, when he feels discomfort in his ears. By the way, mothers are often too worried about this. I was convinced many times - I will not endure a little discomfort! Well, at least he still can't stand it.

There is another option to offer water, but it is stupid to force someone to drink if he does not want to. For children up to six months - no water, except for mother's milk. Are you happy with the healthy intestinal microflora of your baby? Up to six months, it is formed and does not require intervention. By the way, white water with a bunch of useful substances is mom's front milk.

They say that you can drip vasoconstrictor drops into the nose, but I would not do this. The microflora in the nose of babies is very fragile and every parent knows how a child reacts to a decrease in humidity. In an airplane, the air humidity is extremely low, and if you drip it into your nose, it will become even drier and more difficult to breathe.

4. Is it possible to move around the aircraft cabin?
Need to! I insist. Allow your child to walk, meet and explore! Let's see why most mothers are afraid to let go of their child?

- It will interfere with other passengers.
Will. A strange child has approached you, but you are not in the mood to communicate with him. What will you do? Make a severe face, answer his question in monosyllables or keep silent, turn away. So other passengers can do the same. You don't have to worry about them. And the child is smart, he will make contact with those who smile at him and in his heart want to communicate. By the way, in Asia, most passengers are happy to communicate, so mom, relax!

- Interfere with flight attendants.
First, they are very interested in the comfort and tranquility of all passengers. If someone's kid, demanding freedom, will scream at the whole salon - this will make them nervous and your neighbors too. So let him walk, and you look, so that other children do not take away toys. There are many interesting things in the tail and nose of the aircraft. If something is not allowed to be touched, they will definitely tell you about it.
On Russian flights do not let children in the direction of the business class. This unnerves everyone. It is already possible and necessary for a grown-up two-year-old to say that it is impossible to enter the business class behind the curtain - such are the rules here. Children are loved on Asian low-cost flights, so moving around the cabin can be easy and fun. Also, there are no business classes.

- The floor is cold and dirty.
Most often this applies to sliders. This issue is easily solved: keep wet wipes ready and dress the baby a little warmer. Children have excellent thermoregulation, when it gets cold, he will ask for his hands or begin to hiccup.

- Stumble, fall, if the plane will maneuver.
Yes, falls are possible. Children can fall everywhere, and on an airplane no more often than in a store. When the plane makes maneuvers, you will be asked to fasten your seat belts, and it is better not to think about other situations. When the baby is tired, you need to watch him even more carefully and nothing more. But do not go crazy - let a person know the world!

Cry loudly.
Yes, he has the right to be outraged. Of course, if you fell, then it hurts or is scary. To force to calm down instantly is silly. Can you do it yourself? Distracting with severe pain will not help either - try it on yourself))) Hug and understand. Name the emotion, let it live without distracting, if we are talking about a neighbor's toy that you really want. But in case of fatigue, this will not work. Here you need to relax your mother as much as possible and offer calm games, communication with yourself, food, water, on the handles.

Please don't hiss at the kids for fear of the neighbors' reaction! You see these people once in your life, and your child all the time. Who is more important to you?

5. What is the main secret of an easy flight with a child?
Relaxation mom. A calm, confident mother in an easy flight is a surprisingly calm baby. Even if in normal times he is a wild fidget.

Our Max is a very active guy, but when mom is relaxed, the flight will be accompanied by unexpectedly easy falling asleep, calm games or a walk around the cabin. When mom is tired and on her nerves, then there will be no sleep or it will take a long time and violently to fall asleep, and wakefulness is one continuous rebellion.

A dad who is ready to take on a walk around the salon or other cares for the baby is a huge value! Mom at this time can go to the toilet or eat without consequences for clothes.

You might have upset neighbors, dissatisfied staff, or a loud toddler in the seat in front of you with a "deaf mom". You may well be bombarded with advice and comments (most likely only on domestic flights in Russia), but ... Keep zen in your head and remember that this is your child - you know better. Next door you see in the first and last time(oh, I repeat! I really want to be remembered)), they have their own cockroaches with which mutual language find only them. Smile, shake your head and do your best. You are not obliged to torment the child and yourself because of the whims of other people's aunts.

Bonus life hacks:

  • If the baby has the first flight and he is an active baby on breastfeeding, then the mother can drink Valerian or Motherwort tinctures a few hours before departure. Through the milk, a drop will go to the baby and this (perhaps) will save you from overexcitation, giving you the opportunity to calmly take the breast on takeoff or landing. • The stroller is taken from the gangway or asked to be checked in as luggage - it depends on the carrier company. Some airlines can take a compact stroller on board. If you hand over in luggage, then it is better in a case - it will be cleaner and more whole.
  • Some airlines or especially drunk flight attendants ask you to turn off gadgets on takeoff. This is me about two-year-olds who fly well with cartoons (it doesn’t always work like that with us). You can be distracted by magazines or contemplation of the planes outside the window, and turn on the gadget after the plane gains altitude.
  • Food carts. A grown up one and a half year old walking around the salon can be easily warned that carts are dangerous when moving and he will come running to you as soon as he sees them. I don’t recommend saying that there is food there and motivating it - some airlines deliver souvenirs this way.

Airplanes are one of the most modern species transport, so it is not surprising that not all passengers know about the numerous features of air travel.

It's colder in places near the window

The temperature outside the aircraft can reach -60-65 °С, which leads to cooling of the fuselage. It is felt most strongly in the places near the porthole. especially in the summer when everyone wears shorts and t-shirts. Therefore, if you want to admire from the window beautiful scenery Better dress warmly.

Avoid tea and coffee on the plane

Drinking water used on board for the preparation of drinks may contain pathogenic bacteria such as coli or Staphylococcus aureus. To such conclusions in different time specialists came after laboratory studies of samples taken on airplanes different airlines. That's why tea and coffee is better to prefer bottled water or the same tomato juice.

Folding tables and seat pockets are some of the dirtiest items on an airplane.

The garbage accumulated during the flight often ends up in the pocket in front of the seat in front of you. And they are not cleaned as thoroughly as you would like. The truth about folding tables even more severe: flight attendants admit that they are often used to change a baby's diaper. Therefore, take wet wipes with you on the plane, do not put food on the table past the tray, and leave personal items in your bag.

The most favorable time for flying is morning

If you have the opportunity to choose the time of departure, it is better to give preference to morning flights. First of all, in the morning there is less chance of a flight delay. In addition, early departures are preferred for aerophobes, since, according to experts, less turbulence in the morning.

Service on the last rows of the plane is better

Sitting in the front rows, you can be one of the first to get off the plane and get the coveted chicken instead of fish for dinner. But when choosing seats in the back, you can count on a more attentive attitude of the staff. The flight attendants themselves explain it this way: it’s easier to bring an extra serving of food, a bottle of water, headphones and much more to the back rows and go unnoticed by other passengers, which means avoiding other similar requests.

Do not fully inflate the headrest pillow

When taking a pillow under your head with you on a plane, do not forget about the laws of physics. If you inflate it completely, it may burst due to changes in atmospheric pressure in flight. Therefore, the pillow should be slightly deflated.
