The Chinese swim in the pool with inflatable rings. Chaotic traffic in any city. Many Chinese are dirty

Having lived in China for almost a month, we discovered a lot of fun facts about this country and about the Chinese:

1. Let's start with the fact that many people believe that ALL Chinese are similar to each other.

Yes, of course, all of them are united by an eye shape unusual for Europeans, but even it differs, they are all completely different, and they don’t look a bit like each other!

2. Wand control is an art!

After we saw at breakfast how the guy eats liquid with chopsticks !!! rice porridge and how a woman tried to take buns with ordinary European tongs and she didn’t succeed even after the third attempt and she grabbed the chopsticks and without problems in a couple of seconds she threw herself a couple of buns!)) from the box??

By the way, in almost all restaurants you will be offered only chopsticks, rarely when you are lucky and there will be a couple of devices, there are, of course, cafes or restaurants that are designed only for Europeans, but at our breakfast at the hotel they give us only chopsticks and a spoon for soup) )

3. Almost all Chinese can't swim!

For us, this is very strange, apparently people living in the city very rarely go to the sea with their children or cannot afford it, so they do not learn to swim.

Therefore, they swim in the sea in a life jacket + an inflatable ring and, of course, for the greatest safety, some kind of board on which they swim, and in most cases this is all together !!!)))

You know, it's funny to see 3 hefty adults on the beach, who walk with a big yellow circle and still approach the rescue booth and take 2 available circles there)) we're thinking, so why, since you've come to the sea, don't learn how to swim?!? The question remains open...) Recently, the following picture was observed at the pool: a woman came to the pool to swim, attention!!! with an inflatable ring!)) well, it’s not clear to us why, firstly, having the sea at hand, they don’t swim in it, it’s much more useful than chlorinated water and Secondly, is it really in the pool, where the water level for a person with an average height is maximum on the shoulders, you can think of going swimming with a circle))))

4. The Chinese don't like sunbathing.

Many Chinese, at least everyone we met, believe that a tan is a sign that you either work on the street, sell fruits, or a peasant, it seems very primitive to think so, but after all, all peoples have their own traditions, upbringing and principles , so our beach is empty at least from the morning until the moment there is sun)))

Therefore, the city is full of people with umbrellas, so they close from the sun, they ride mopeds completely closed from the sun: a hat, a hat, in general, any headgear on their heads, something like a mask on their face and neck, you know, like for example skiers or
snowboarders, only the eyes are visible, if glasses are not yet on top, then a closed jacket with long sleeves and ... gloves!))) we think that most likely these are office workers, whose tan at work is not acceptable.

5. Everyone rides motorcycles.

Even a business lady, yesterday in the city they saw a young woman arrive on a scooter in a black suit with a neatly licked pussy, in pantyhose and shoes, we see this for the first time, but what, the climate allows here, there is little rain, it’s warm, I sat down and drove off) )

6. Not only in Russia, you have to wait and ask to be let through at a pedestrian crossing.

You can stand at the crossing for a long time and no one will let you through until you just get indignant and wave your arms, and at the transition they also brazenly honk, like: “What are you walking, I don’t see the food!” And on mopeds, they just try to go around you and also honk.

7. Drivers honk here all the time!

The constant ringing of klaxons is heard in the city. At what they probably pins just like honking! They say what it means:

"hello" - beep, "I'm riding behind you" - beep, "I overtake you" - beep, "I overtook you" - beep, and of course "thank you!" - beep. Continuous flow...

8. Chaotic traffic in any city.

Here you can apparently drive in the opposite direction in the city and along the sidewalks and honk brazenly.

Beeping pedestrians walking along the sidewalks and preventing them from passing is the norm ... We met people who rode mopeds in the oncoming traffic, and on the sidewalks all the time, most likely there are no fines or they just violate until no one sees, we have not yet studied China's traffic rules)))

9. Many Chinese are dirty.

When we first came for breakfast, we saw mountains of dirty dishes on the tables and soiled tablecloths, as if savages were having breakfast, and so the thought comes to mind: maybe it's time to change chopsticks for European cutlery!? Some of them are untidy, not neat.

In Hong Kong and Beijing, one gets the feeling that this is not the case, but it is worth driving away from central streets all the same.

We were on the island of monkeys and what caught my eye was that they can just throw a bottle into the bushes or leave it, like it’s not mine ... Everywhere everywhere, on sidewalks, on walls, at bus stops, you can see red spots - these are traces, sorry, spitting local residents. They chew such a red fruit Binlan. Apparently, it is impossible not to spit while chewing this fruit. In addition to the frequent spitting of chewers, binlan can be identified by bright red lips, red-brown teeth, which, by the way, spoil the teeth. These guys have blood-fiery smiles, and they smile more often than others. Today we asked a local resident what it is?? The thing is, this fruit has a slight narcotic effect, but not the kind from which people laugh for no reason or see hallucinations, rather, it looks like intoxication.

By the way, we were told that it is like chewing gum among local southern people, its use is sometimes useful, it helps to fight caries and helminths. Frequent use damages teeth.

Looks disgusting.

Sitting at a cafe table with an ashtray and throwing cigarette butts on the floor is normal.

10. Everyone thinks China is cheap.

(This is true, but only far from tourist areas And major cities)

We will disappoint you, but EVEN with 60 thousand rubles for 10 days, not counting the trip itself, of course, there is nothing to do here. On average, dinner per person in an ordinary cafe costs from 700 rubles, but it will tasty food and big portion! If you want to eat cheaper, then prepare mentally! the bathroom should be nearby))) and also you should not be squeamish, loving unsanitary conditions and of course omnivorous))). what they eat looks bad, smells bad and tastes bad.

Nothing to do with Chinese restaurants in St. Petersburg or Moscow.

They thought only we didn’t want to eat there, they asked other tourists ... they don’t want to either))

In cafes by the sea, you will be offered fresh fish, the price varies from a thousand rubles for one fish of about 1.5 kg. Very tasty to be honest, but the atmosphere in such cafes leaves much to be desired.

For the stitches! Attention, things here are 2-3 times cheaper, but these are cheap things in the markets, here you can bargain for them, for example, from 120 yuan to 40)) that is, from 840 to 280 rubles, these are hats, dresses, sundresses, shorts and swimwear. .

In boutiques like Calvin Klein, prices are the same as anywhere else in the world, but we didn't see a single customer.

There are local boutiques, for girls they are openwork dresses and skirts, for men - fashionable shirts and trousers, the prices are the same as ours, the question is whether this is all in our country)

At the expense of shoes, there is a really huge assortment of shoes, and we, for sure, will tell you that there is no such thing! Bright shoes, just a girl's paradise, 2-4 times cheaper than ours.

I also want to note that all their clothes are very colorful and bright. Like from anime. In ruffles, rhinestones, laces with the fact that in Russian stores you can not compare.

For example, you can buy moccasins for 200 rubles, but in fact the leg does not breathe in them.

Excursions, even if you go by yourself, and not with guides, for example, monkey island, to get there a taxi costs 100-150 yuan - 700-1050 rubles (20 minutes one way), plus 300 yuan for two - 2100. Taxi in Beijing cheaper. 30 minutes costs about 500r.

Thermal springs are about 200 yuan for one, that is, about 1400 for one, but this is a complete spa package, you can say, pools of various temperatures, with coconut milk and rose petals, a pool with coffee instead of water, white wine, red wine, ginseng and lavender etc., as well as a pedicure with fish. The pool with fish is huge, you can dive there with your head and the fish will bite you everywhere))

With such a dive, the men all cover their chests, because the fish grab the papillae the most :)))

In general, if you want to see the country, prepare your wallet, “for 100 rubles” you won’t buy anything here)

For example, 1 kg of rice (or 0.5, to be honest, I forgot) in northern China costs 5 rubles, and in Hainan it is already 21 rubles.

11. Smoking in the dining room is normal!

We were at breakfast and saw men smoking, well, now it became clear to me why they have a fine for smoking in public transport, we would not even have thought of such a thing - smoking on the bus!

They constantly, like steam locomotives, smoke everywhere. The exception is Hong Kong and the surrounding area, they follow this very strictly, a fine of about 25,000 rubles.

12. Why keep everything to yourself?

"Belching" seems normal here, this phenomenon is not common, but without any hesitation))

We somehow ate in a cafe and a woman, unexpectedly for us, committed this nasty crime right at the table ...

And spit loudly and lingering in general for a sweet soul ....

Sometimes you get the feeling of a test pigsty ... You lie on the beach and nearby it is stable every 10-30 minutes - hark, hark

13. Long nails are beautiful!

You will probably say that this is true, but not for men)))

We have seen men have long nails not on all fingers, but for example on the index finger, it feels like we are next to Count Dracula, this is considered fashionable and beautiful.

14. Rubber boots and boots (like reptiles) at a temperature of 30-34 degrees.

Probably it is also fashionable, because everyone has their own style. We often see girls in shorts and boots that are definitely not summer. Or maybe they are comfortable at this temperature. For example, one evening the temperature was about 25 degrees, and one of our Chinese friends says that he is already cold ..))

15. The Chinese know Russian.

Of course not all. These are only a few)) and imagine many of them learn the language themselves! Marvelous! Such a complex language and people have enough patience! Our taxi driver speaks Russian, he said that he studied Russian for 3 years! And so, and we learn English for 10 years and some do not succeed even for such a period of time, then the problem is something else ..

Hainan develops very fast and invites more and more Russian tourists, so the Chinese are not lost, because this good business, if you know Russian, you can be a guide, guide, taxi driver, instructor and everything related to tourism, we think it is very profitable. By the way, everyone now knows about our situation in the country, they even know about the travel agency " South Cross”, which went bankrupt ... many Russian cafes are on the verge of ruin.

16. The myth that the Chinese do not eat bread and do not like milk.

When we were going to go to China, we read information that there is no bread at all in China and that they don’t drink milk at all, everything is wrong. There are many bakery shops on the streets and milk is sold in the shops, and at our breakfast everyone eats milk porridge and drinks milk ...

They eat buns on both cheeks.

But there is one difference. Their buns are made amazingly beautifully but taste average. Communicated with the Chinese who visited Russia. They say that our rolls are not beautiful, but tastier.

17. Everywhere wife

In fact, this point is more about Hong Kong and large cities, there are booths distributing wife everywhere, with our money, for 250 rubles per month, i.e. anywhere in the city you have a waffle. In buses, too, it is also cramped in the subway and in cafes.

18. Traditional medicine is highly valued here.

These are, for example, a shark oil factory, a snake factory, lizard products and pearl products.

By the way, the shark oil factory does not deliver to Russia, by the way, because of the Russian mail, as we were told, they say this production is joint with Canada, so we do not have real shark oil in Russia, at least which is sold in pharmacies and legally. If only individuals make deliveries.

Nuclear prices. For example, shark fat costs 1200 yuan for 3 months - 8400 rubles, for half a year it means 16800, shark liver extract is considered especially useful, it costs 5600 yuan for half a year, which is about 40,000, collagen also costs.

At the expense of lizards and snakes, all sorts of tinctures, they say that not all of this is useful, and even more so that it does not have a license.

But there are people specially coming to be treated with Chinese folk medicine.

My advice to you, if you go to China to be treated with folk methods, then only in state hospitals.

Several real situations.

Russian tourists had a hernia on the spine. Came here to be treated in a private clinic. Well, they were cured in such a way that they simply removed the nerve and let them go. The pain is gone, but the problem is not solved.

On the other hand, a woman went to be treated 30 years ago in a state military hospital. There, she was cured of cystitis by folk methods, and according to her, for 30 years now he has not bothered her (European medicine does not cure this disease, but muffles it, as far as I know)

19. Delicious, fragrant tea.

Oh, what fragrant teas China offers. We were at a tea ceremony, they told us how tea is brewed correctly, what healing properties it has, in general, this is for tea connoisseurs. To be honest, those who do not understand teas will not distinguish real tea, whether it is fresh, and even more so where it is collected. They say the famous tea Kudin grows only in Hainan and it is nowhere else, when you drink it, it is weak, and the aftertaste is as if you had eaten a spoonful of sugar! For example, green tea is brewed for 1 minute, but before that it is worth pouring boiled water over it and draining it. Almost all types of teas can be brewed 2,3 or even 9 times!

50 grams of tea costs from about 700 rubles to 1400 and more.

20. Buying a car in Beijing is not a problem, but you can get license plates only by lottery. Someone waits 1 month and wins, while someone waits 3-4 years and does not win.

You can, for example, of course, get numbers in another region, but the entrance to the city center of Beijing (and it is quite large) is closed.

Also in Beijing once a week you can not drive a car, otherwise a fine. This is how they deal with traffic jams and smog.

21. Studying at a school at the Russian Embassy costs $4,000 a year.

In English and American schools from 16,000 dollars a year. And everyone wants to go there, because I have money but no space.

22. Google and everything related to it, Instagram, Facebook, etc. do not work in China.

23. This paragraph does not apply southern regions Russia.

Many are accustomed to living in Russia, starting from October to wake up at 7-8 in the morning and not see the sun, go to work. Look at the faded dawn at best from the window of the office for hours at 10-11. leave work at sunset, and in winter it is already when it is dark.

And for many people this is the norm.

So this is a huge contrast, just unrealistic. When the sun rises at 5 am, and at 7-8 it is already so bright that it's hard not to squint. At 12 o'clock without sunglasses, it is very difficult to open your eyes (that's why I don't understand this show off in St. Petersburg and Moscow, when people wear sunglasses), that's where they are really needed and to the place so to speak.

Always go out in light clothing because it is +20 or +30 outside

Do not wrap yourself in clothes from the piercing cold. There are fruits and vegetables all year round (which are 1-5 days as plucked from the mouth) without gas preservative for delivery from Southern countries(By the way, about fruits, they are naturally tastier and juicier than in Russia), and who wants snow, got on a plane for 8 thousand round trip, flew to the mountains, rode and returned.

24. The average salary, for example, in Hainan is 15,000-20,000 rubles

That's all we remember for now.

China is amazing country, with breathtaking scenery and extraordinary culture. We are already used to seeing mountains in the city, and by early sunset. To fireflies and birds that chirp all night under the window.

Here you can see rice fields and mango orchards with no end and no end, impenetrable jungle, as well as pigs walking like our dogs.

In hot summer days most people go to the nearest body of water to cool off. The Chinese are no exception. True, there are often many more people who want to swim than a pool or lake can accommodate. So the other day in a pool called "Dead Sea" at the same time accommodated more than 11 thousand vacationers!

IN Chinese province Sichuan built the largest indoor water park in the country. On its territory there is a huge pool of salt water, which was called the "Dead Sea" ( dead sea). The mineral content in it is almost the same as in the Dead Sea off the coast of Israel. But there are much more people who want to swim in a man-made reservoir than in the natural environment.

As soon as the temperature on the thermometer approaches +35, the Chinese go in thousands to cool off in the Dead Sea. True, they only manage to stand in the water, but not swim, because there is simply not enough space in the pool. But, judging by the pictures, this fact does not upset the motley crowd. Almost each of the vacationers has an inflatable ring, which provides a minimum free space between the swimmers.

In addition to the pool, there is a golf course and a spa. The area of the entire water park is almost 3 hectares. Such a huge area causes considerable inconvenience to rescuers who are in constant tension, watching a crowd of thousands.

The excessive overpopulation of China, unfortunately, carries with it disastrous consequences. reflect the appalling conditions that its inhabitants face on a daily basis.

China, let's face it, although it has a rather extensive coastline that goes both to the Pacific and, almost, to Indian Ocean, But maritime power never really been. Since ancient times, China has proclaimed itself central country, and it was believed that there was simply no life abroad. Like outside the Moscow Ring Road. This is probably why the Chinese were so shocked by the arrival of foreigners on ships, and even with gunpowder guns. Just an invasion of bloodthirsty aliens, and nothing more.
But we're not talking about that. I don’t know what was the cause and what was the result, but the Chinese do not swim. In the very literally this word - the Chinese do not know how to swim. Moreover, the Chinese do not know how to drive, but, nevertheless, they drive cars, but they do not know how to swim, and do not swim. Plus, in China, a tan is considered a sign of the redneck and the lower class. And if men, in general, do not care about this, then women are very important.
Why am I? Yes to what beach holiday in China, it is rather a tribute to Western fashion, which the Chinese love and try to adopt in their own way, in Chinese, so as not to seem backward and still the same redneck.
Well, actually, on the topic of the post: Shanghai stands on the sea. It has a subtropical climate. Hot summer from May to October. But there are no beaches here. The main reason is the gigantic amount of sand brought by the Yangtze River. This is no joke, the sandy muddy brown water makes the sea we could all swim in Yellow. And this is not a metaphor. Almost none in the Shanghai area coastline. This is a mud-sand mixture that becomes thinner and more swampy, and at some point it becomes narrower. more water than dry. This is how the sea begins.
Well, the second reason, the Chinese, for all their ability to stop rivers, build countless skyscrapers and fake iPhones, do not bother at all about the lack of a beach where God himself ordered it to be.

And then you will say to me: “Excuse me, comrade, but what is this ?!”

Our motto is: it can't be! So this time we did not believe that in such a great place no beach. We spent a long search in ancient manuscripts, then we collected expeditions, chose right time and so, having driven fifty kilometers south of our house, we found ourselves on the coast. In this place, cunning people organized an artificial paid beach, the water area of which is fenced off from the dirty sea by a pier and has 650 thousand square meters.
This empty sand strip- like an exclusion zone in front of singing fountains, which are very popular in China. You can’t swim here, and being without a shadow on the sand at +38 is certain death.
Therefore, we move on. Here is that shell from the inside - there is a huge screen in it, they show a Chinese action movie about the war.

By the way, you see how large screens are arranged. They are broken down into smaller screens, processed individually. Due to the fact that they all work in different phases, and the refresh rate is low and visible to the phone's camera, a ripple effect is obtained in the picture. In fact, everything looks fine.
There is also a VIP cafe where a tired vacationer can skip a glass or two to devour - for resting and not eating for the Chinese is the same as resting and not drinking for Russians.

Well, here is the culmination itself, after which there is no point in posting other photos:

It's called "Urine Therapy: Theory and Practice"

We weren't surprised at all. The Chinese went into the water with circles and umbrellas, so as not to drown and burn out. Well, if there was a real opportunity to burn out, then there was practically no opportunity for drowning:

Please note: human heads end abruptly behind the lifeguard towers. Further there are buoys, obstacles, towers, machine guns, dogs. For there the depth already reaches sixty meters!!! Is it a joke! This is a terrible and dangerous abyss, I would say. (It is the same with swimming pools - they all have maximum depth 1.6 m. Even those for sports swimming. Maybe somewhere there are normal Olympic pools, for those rare Chinese who were forced to learn to swim at gunpoint.)

But, knowing the desperate dislike of the Chinese to think and craving for herding, we just walked a little further along the beach. Tents and umbrellas thinned out. There was even a place to go into the water, and oh my God, walk to the buoys.

In general, we found about what we expected. Unfortunately, we were convinced that there are no beaches in Shanghai. But the experience was received positively.

There is, of course, a chance that by driving an hour or two south, you can find something better. But this is already comparable to a flight to the same Philippines. And the quality is not comparable at all. But, nevertheless, it was funny to see how the Chinese rest on the sea.

The Chinese are one of the noisiest nations in the world. This is especially noticeable in their social interaction. Once in the market or in a restaurant, you will understand this, the rumble of their voices never subsides, and this is very annoying for many Europeans.

For noise-sensitive tourists, there is only one way out of the situation - stock up on an item similar to the one in the photo on the left. We haven't come up with another solution yet.

If a conflict arises between the Chinese, then their ability to produce loud sounds is manifested to the maximum extent.

Once on the streets of Shanghai, we saw an amazing scene. While crossing the street, one Chinese man accidentally hit another. They stopped right in the middle of the pedestrian crossing and started cursing loudly with each other. At the same time, they did not allow cars to pass.

When a crowd gathered around them a couple of minutes later, they began to pounce on each other, and those around, of course, held them. I immediately remembered the saying: “keep me six, five do not hold”. Five minutes later, they peacefully dispersed.

Of course, this was rather an extreme case of a street quarrel in China, all other conflicts that we observed were more modest. The attitude towards foreigners in China is more cultural. The Chinese will be happy to swear at each other, but tourists are always treated politely. Such a mentality.

tea markets

This side of Chinese tradition and culture is amazing, but in a good way. In China, you will find huge markets or high-rise shopping centers who sell only tea and tea accessories.

We talked in detail about the famous in Beijing. Read this review, now we will not dwell on the description of the markets themselves.

Tea for the Chinese is not just a drink, but an important element of culture. Most gifts in China are tea or tea accessories. The Chinese are very happy to give each other tables, teapots, cups and even scales for weighing tea.

If you find yourself in China, be sure to find the nearest tea market. It's gorgeous tourist attraction, and completely free. Tea is the most common, do not miss the chance to buy it at favorable prices choosing from thousands of varieties.

Do not forget that always in the markets. The price can be brought down by 20-30%. Chinese merchants behave in a civilized manner, in the market no one will grab your hands, as happens in Arab countries. Only the tourist market around in Shanghai can be called a sad exception.

Why are the Chinese afraid of water and can't swim?

I have never asked this question before. My business trip in 2010 to the city of Shenzhen, in the south of China, opened this amazing fact. On one of the first days of the business trip, my colleague Kuzmich and my colleague from the Chinese side, let's call him Chen, and I have already completed the work planned for that day. It was time for rest. According to a tradition dating back to Soviet times, the inviting party shows local sights to their foreign comrades. We were walking in the local park, when suddenly it began to rain lightly. For us Russians, rain is a completely normal occurrence, I didn’t even have an umbrella with me. But something completely unimaginable happened to our Chinese colleague. Chen began to thrash about looking for cover, as if it wasn't a fine mushroom rain, but a real downpour with a hurricane. It was evident that he was very much worried, but we must pay tribute, he held on to the last as best he could. He calmed down only when Kuzmich, realizing that things were bad, gave Chen his umbrella, saying that he was fine even in the rain and didn’t really need an umbrella. Did you see Chen's peaceful face as he lifted the umbrella over his head. It was as if he had escaped mortal danger...

The next day after the planned work, we went to the local beach. That was the first time I saw the South China Sea. It was cloudy outside open sun did not have. The water seems to be cloudy or tinted with something. What is very different from the Black Sea or the Adriatic, so well known to us. The water temperature that day was somewhere around 22 degrees. The beach is almost empty, not a single swimmer was there. And only a few local Chinese, who sat dressed on the shore, looked at one crazy Russian, who, defiantly quickly undressing, rushed into the abyss. I have such a tradition - to swim in travel places. And here I did not miss my chance. And my colleagues Chen and Kuzmich decided to refrain from swimming. I remember how Kuzmich shouted to me from the shore, almost dropping the camera on which I asked myself to capture: “Andryukha, look, do not sip water, otherwise you will have to treat you with vodka!”. As it turned out later, he seemed to be looking into the water, I really got poisoned, but not with water, but with seafood, and I didn’t get poisoned, but just overate, and I had to spend one day shamefully in hotel room. But that's a completely different story.

Now my friends, I will try to answer the question posed at the very beginning. Why do the Chinese have a panic fear of water. In the ancient Slavic pre-Christian sources there is interesting information that the ancestors of the modern Chinese - the people of the yellow race, or as they were called in ancient times by the Slavs, the Ahrimans, are not the indigenous inhabitants of the planet Earth. The Ahrimans were relocated to our Earth from their home planet when some kind of catastrophe occurred on it. In order to save the remnants of the unique human species from certain death, the highest hierarchs-curators of the Earth made a responsible decision to relocate the people of the yellow race to free territory, close in climate to their native territory of residence. This territory allocated for their residence was called Arimia. I dare to suggest that a global flood occurred on the “native” planet of the Ahrimans. Then a terrible one that claimed millions of their lives. Because of what the fear of the elements of water was imprinted in the genetic memory Chinese people forever.

Why do the Chinese eat with chopsticks?

What is a business trip to China without visiting a Chinese restaurant? None. I declare to you responsibly. The first time I visited China in autumn 2008 was in Beijing. Chinese comrades always invite their foreign colleagues to local and very expensive restaurants. There are several goals, one of them, of course, is to show the scope, beauty and diversity of its culture on the example of its gastronomy. Chinese food is really very tasty, but only for those who, like me, love everything spicy and salty since childhood. Even the most adapted dishes for Europeans are very spicy and significantly exceed our usual threshold of spiciness. But if you are trained in Caucasian and Turkish cuisine, then Chinese cuisine you won't be so scared. Feel free to choose what comrades recommend to you and you will succeed. The main thing is not to overeat and control yourself, because according to Chinese tradition, the most tasteless dishes are served on the table first. The most delicious and exquisite are served at the end, when you can no longer even breathe, let alone eat.

In a restaurant, the Chinese always ask Europeans what kind of utensils they are going to eat. Forks - spoons or traditional Chinese chopsticks. The choice is free and no one is forcing you to do it. I opted for chopsticks, ditching the fork. Boldly and arrogantly, because to my great shame, on that November day in 2008, I held them in my hands for the first time in my life. There were already sushi and Chinese restaurants in Moscow, but I was not fond of this food and did not know how to eat with chopsticks. It was just insanely interesting for me to learn how to eat them, to learn, so to speak, first-hand. After half an hour of uncomfortable gestures and parallel communication in English with one of my comrades, I already almost confidently held the chopsticks in my hands and could somehow take them to him. Now, when something began to work out, it became clear to me: practice and only practice. For the duration of the trip, you should forget about forks and spoons, they simply do not exist for you. Then you will learn. I can voice my own two criteria for the fact that you have already learned how to confidently use Chinese chopsticks. 1. Taking them in your hands, you do not think about how to put them in your fingers. Just take as you take a fork or spoon. 2. You can pick up a grain of rice from a plate with one or two grips and bring it to your mouth without dropping it. Now you have definitely learned. Congratulations!

Every nation has the best of the best. This is the national elite. These are writers, philosophers, poets, people of creative and engineering intelligentsia with great knowledge and experience. They love their people, since they themselves came out of it, and they know what needs to be done to ensure that the people develop and prosper. If they are admitted to power, they can influence culture-forming processes, they have the right to establish National holidays, create and promote various kinds of rituals and traditions in society, then the people, driven by their elite, develop, prosper and improve. Both individually, and society as a whole. What can we observe in the example of modern China. One big village for 50 years has become a center of high technology and all the most progressive in technical terms.

And here's a reverse example for you, look at today's Russia. What a bestial state the Russian people have been brought to by turns and methodically, starting with the baptism of Rus', false and unnatural “holidays”, “traditions” and “cults” are being introduced. The cult of drinking New Year, which is celebrated not according to the natural calendar on September 22, as was the case with the Slavs, but on January 31, as Peter I decreed by his decree. The days of March 8 and February 23, "holidays" that have nothing to do with either real women or men. We have our own women's day - the Day of the Goddess Vesta, which is celebrated on March 23, but many of us know about it? Christmas, which for some reason believers celebrate on January 7, but it would be more correct to celebrate it on December 25, as they do in Europe. After all, the first day when a sunny day is added is the birth of a new sun - Christ or New Yar (New Year or Neu Jahre). That's what they say: "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!", which means "Merry Christmas and Happy New Yar!" For Europeans, this is one day on December 25th. And we still have the only real holiday - Victory Day. This is really a truly significant date for all of us, the rest of the “holidays” are just dust.

But back to China. One of the most significant developmental traditions I consider the ubiquitous culture of eating with chopsticks.
