Nha Trang: the reverse side of Vietnam. Where to stay in Nha Trang: the best areas to stay

Accustomed to saving up for a vacation at the resort for years? Maybe it’s better to reconsider your values, spend less, and rest more often? How to spend on Vietnamese resort in Nha Trang 18 days for only 629 dollars? And this includes renting a hotel room, a bike, expenses for excursions and food, going to restaurants. Do you think it's not real? Personally, we spent just that much! This post is about Nha Trang and how to relax here on a budget without really denying yourself.

For those who are not in the know, we travel around the cities of Vietnam on our own, without agencies. Detailed itinerary at the end of the post.

Nha Trang - resort town V southern Vietnam, where charters from Russia have recently been flying. Everything here is geared towards Russian tourists. The Vietnamese, like the Arabs in Egypt, learned Russian, and our compatriots do not even try to speak English. What for? After all, they will understand.

Nha Trang, despite its small size, is an interesting city. You can spend time here in different ways: just get high on the beach and on various small islands during sea excursions, or you can go around suburban attractions that are located here within a radius of 50 km. I am sure that if you come here on vacation for two weeks, you can find a new activity for every day and never repeat.

Before you spend money on excursions, read my post on how to save money on these very excursions. in many interesting places you can go on your own and not overpay agencies and guides:

Nha Trang - a resort with good beaches. Excellent coarse yellowish sand, pure water in the sea on the city beach and fabulous sandy and pebble beaches islands accessible by boat. In Nha Trang, they offer several at a price of $ 7 per day.

I want cool photos and white sand - a direct road to. Sand there imported on barges from Cam Ranh for 35 km.

There is also a giant water park and an amusement park. Entrance costs 450 thousand (22.5 dollars), includes a trip to the island by cable car.

We really liked hot springs Thapba (Suối khoáng Tháp Bà). This is a whole SPA complex, a bit like Binh Chau near Vung Tau, but getting to Thamba is much easier - 10 minutes by bike from the center (right behind the Po Nagar Cham towers). A branded bus goes there, which costs 30,000 dong per person one way ($1.5). Or you can always take a taxi.

Entrance to thermal pools hot water costs only 60 thousand dong - 3 dollars per person. You can dine in a local restaurant for 120 thousand for two. Only I'm not talking about Italian cuisine but about ordinary Vietnamese food.

Hotels in Nha Trang are literally at every turn. Due to the great competition, the owners dump prices as best they can. The most inexpensive offers - 7-8 dollars per night for a room for three with air conditioning and a large balcony. Although few people know about it and are unlikely to find out, because Russians and Ukrainians rarely travel on their own and prefer to buy ready-made package tours. On one forum I was surprised to read how one tourist asked to find her a budget hotel no more than $ 80 per day! Yes, with this money you can live in Nha Trang without denying yourself anything for several days! However, if you later need to tell your friend, to the envy of your friend, how many pools were at your hotel and post pictures in Odnoklassniki in a branded bathrobe and slippers with a logo, then please pay at least $ 200 ...

Here this is our room for three in a mini hotel for $8 per night. Simple, but there is everything you need for an overnight stay and daytime sleep: air conditioning, hot water shower, toilet, refrigerator, fast Wi-Fi. Cleaning, change of towels and bed linen every day.

UPD. Our hotel appeared in Hotellook. Now it can be booked in advance for a couple of days, for example, and then extended on the spot more budget.

If you want something more civil - please, opposite the hotel for $ 15 a day with snow-white sheets, a bathroom washed to a shine and free fruits for dinner.

After reading about rednecks in socks under sandals in Nha Trang, I decided that I would not believe these insinuations until I saw boors with my own eyes. But it just so happened that we crossed paths with our compatriots only once - on a boat trip. And they were mostly lovely old women discussing the quality of pasta offered to us for lunch. Harmless grandmothers, gentle and not dangerous.

In our small hotel for 4 rooms, Russians have never been seen. They live in glamorous places with stars and buffet breakfasts. We went on excursions ourselves on a bike (to save money and freedom of movement). On the beach, we also went to a deserted area, far from the paid sun loungers, where the packers like to spend time.

If you want to live in Nha Trang and do not meet with compatriots, then choose a simpler hotel and go on excursions on your own.

In Nha Trang, the Vietnamese speak Russian, write menus in Russian, call stores by Russian names, and slowly study the psychology of these strange, slightly arrogant, and certainly indecently rich Russians. They learned here not only to serve well, but also to prick, cheat, deceive and simply extort loot. Why not? After all, these Russians have such thick wallets! Even if that fat red-faced dolt parted with a dollar or two, nothing bad will happen.

In a local cafe, prices are almost the same as in other cities in Vietnam. 20 thousand dong ($1) a portion of rice with meat or chicken and vegetables. Soup Pho or Bun Bo - 30-35 thousand dong for a large plate.

The restaurants of numerous expats allow you to taste the cuisines of many nations. We visited about five restaurants, and we liked each of them. You can eat quite hearty together for 500,000 dong (25 dollars).

Le Refuge - French restaurant, founded by a real French trucker who settled in Vietnam and now feeds tourists with pleasure. Pleasant alpine house, set interesting photos on the walls, tasty food. Must try ribs in sauce and parmentier ostrich under a layer of mashed potatoes and French cheese. Just order an additional sauce of your choice for the ostrich.

Omar's Indian Restaurant- the name speaks for itself. There are many Russians who conjure for a long time over the menu, not knowing what to choose. Order Lamb Massala's signature dish - lamb in tomato-peanut sauce. Prepared according to the chef's secret recipe. Very tasty, large portions, enough for two. Be sure to try the national Indian Naan bread.

Oh! Sushi bar - great inexpensive sushi. My friends know perfectly well that I am ready not to see borscht and dumplings for years, but I can’t live without sushi for a long time. We eat them in every country we visit. So, in this sushi bar they cook the best rolls that I have ever eaten in Asia. I'm not talking about Japan, because we haven't been there yet. Just please be conscious and do not order sets.

Nha Trang - perfect place For family vacation. Children's entertainment - Winperl complex and islands with monkeys, elephants and deer.

Great shopping experience in Nha Trang Center. There you can feed the child with the usual food in Russian fast food. Borscht, okroshka and hodgepodge, pasta with meatballs and vermicelli soup. The choice of food is large - prices from 50 thousand dong per serving ($ 2.5). By the way, I wrote more about that in a separate post.

On the fourth floor of the center there is a children's playground, where you can take your child for shopping. If the baby suddenly gets bored or starts crying, they will call you on your mobile. It costs 40 thousand dong (2 dollars) - time is unlimited.

If you are traveling abroad with a child for the first time, read my post on how to prepare for your trip. There's a lot useful tips how to make this trip as comfortable as possible:

Now about our budget. We spent $629 in 18 days in Nha Trang That's about $35 a day.

This amount includes all our expenses - renting a hotel room, bike, food and entertainment. It is worth noting that we preferred to go on excursions on our own, so we managed to save money on this. Of course, it was possible not to go to restaurants and not buy expensive European food in the supermarket. The costs would be lower. But we wanted to take a little "vacation" and enjoy it resort town in full.

A very detailed post about prices in Nha Trang for hotels, food in cafes, massages, entertainment, etc.:

Settle in budget hotels (from $ 7 per day for a double room),

Rent a bike and go on excursions on your own (the cost of renting a Yamaha Nuovo is $ 5 per day),

Do not buy water and fruits on tourist streets. Shop in small shops and markets. Believe me, if you buy water not for 10 thousand dong, but for 2.5, then in the end it will save a decent amount in two weeks. The same goes for fruits and vegetables,

Do not go to restaurants 3 times a day, you can eat a hearty meal in Nha Trang in local street cafes for just a couple of dollars,

Climate and weather in Nha Trang

Nha Trang is lucky with the climate - in this region the temperature is almost the same warm all year round, so interrupt bathing season doesn't make much sense.

Only occasionally during the winter months can the air temperature drop to somewhere in the low 20s, usually in December. The water near the coast is always warm - an average of 25-26 degrees.

The period from October to December is not the most best time for relaxation due to the rainy season. Ideal for divers - the months from March to August.

Precipitation in Nha Trang is less than in other coastal regions of the country. Humidity is consistently high, sometimes it intensifies the feeling of heat, in August it is stuffy at the resort.

What to see in Nha Trang

Among the attractions of Nha Trang, it is necessary to highlight Long Son pagoda, behind which there is a large stone statue Buddha seated on a lotus flower. You can also look at the 13th century Cham towers Po Nagar, which were built during the era of the Champa state.

Tourists have the opportunity to sail with an excursion to the islands of Nha Trang Bay, in particular to Monkey Island, located 12 kilometers north of Hon Che Island. The tour includes a cruise around the islands, fishing, visiting the Bajo waterfall, mud and mineral springs, local craft villages. If you wish, you can visit the Circus of Dogs and Monkeys, the Circus of Elephants and Bears and much more on the island.

Thapba are not the only sources in the district: 50 km north-west of the city there is a source thermal water Truong Xuan

Communication in Nha Trang

For calls to other countries in Vietnam, there are special call centers, as well as street payphones. Guests staying in hotels have the opportunity to make calls directly from there, but this is quite expensive.

To call from Russia to Phan Thiet, you need to dial 8-10-84-62-phone number, if you dial from a mobile phone, then "8-10" should be replaced with "+". For calls from Vietnam to Russia, you need to dial: 007-city code-subscriber number.

WITH cellular communication there are no problems, since all three largest Russian operators — MTS, Beeline and Megafon — have agreements with Vietnamese companies. Vietnamese operators: MobiFone, VinaFone, S-Fone, G-Tel, Vietnamobile, Viettel Mobile. A SIM card from a Vietnamese operator costs about $5, which includes 30 minutes of talk time.

You can track and replenish the balance using a free mobile application, both manually and automatically. You no longer need to splurge on service packages and monthly fees, as money will be debited from your account only for seconds of conversation and spent megabytes. Drimsim means stable Internet access, advantageous calls, transparent billing and prices that do not differ much from the local communication cost. All this allows you to communicate with loved ones, share photos, build routes and learn a lot. useful information about the country without fear of spending all the money on roaming.

Safety

One of the most serious crimes that a tourist can encounter in Vietnam is pickpocketing, which occurs more or less regularly. In this regard, it is recommended not to carry cash and documents in the back pockets of your trousers. Most best option- keep them in a safe at the hotel, and carry a small amount of money and a photocopy of your passport with you. In addition, tourists should be careful when calculating, as the Vietnamese are sometimes not averse to fooling visitors.

You need to be careful if you are dealing with local “priestesses of love”, who are often not averse to profiting from the wallets of their clients. Foreigners can play gambling games only in special establishments, and an attempt to involve local residents in them can result in criminal prosecution. Everything related to drugs is especially strictly punished - possession, distribution, use. In this case, the most severe punishments are applied, up to the death penalty. This is a traditional practice in Southeast Asia.

Tourists should exercise discretion during their holidays. In particular, this applies to the use of alcohol, since a tourist in Vietnam who has “overdone” can easily get into trouble, become a victim of a robbery, etc. When swimming, it is worth watching the ocean surf, which can become a source of danger.

As for health issues, before coming to Vietnam, you need to take care of the issue of registration medical insurance(regular or extended). You can also pay a fee to International SOS and use the provided medical services in branches in Vietnam. The address in Hanoi is 31 Hai Ba Trung in the central part of the city. Phone - 9340555.

Due to its resort specifics, the city of Nha Trang is replete with hotels and guesthouses, but due to its topographical specifics in the city, only one hotel can boast of being located on the first (coastal) line - "Ana Mandara 5 *". The first is located 10 km from Nha Trang, and the second is on the island, and you can get to it by the world's longest cable car over the sea. For supporters of a budget holiday, there are always hotels and guesthouses within walking distance from the sea costing from $5 per room.

Tired of the usual Turkish coast Russian tourists V last years wonderful place where you can wait out the dull Russian off-season. The park is always crowded and Russian is heard everywhere, it is in this area that the largest number of our compatriots rest. On the territory of the park, restaurants always have a menu in Russian, often the staff speaks not only English, but also Russian.

Important! Be prepared for the fact that the prices in this area are slightly inflated both in restaurants in the park and in nearby cafes and grocery stores.

In the park, life does not stop even at night; funny themed parties and discos often take place there.

Here I have tried to collect the most frequently asked questions and answer them.
You can clarify something or ask your question in our section "Questions of tourists",
and also to me on whatsapp / viber +84916973542 or social networks (type Dmitry Vietnam in the search)

? We watched the weather forecast, is it always raining in Nha Trang?

Weather forecasts for Nha Trang are inadequate, as the sensors are located in the mountains. The best time to visit Nha Trang is from March to September. From October to February the weather is not so good anymore, the waves and rains are not so comfortable temperature water. And November-December-January is better not to rest in Nha Trang. This does not mean that we will have rain every day, it happens in different ways. But there will never be perfect weather.

? Help choosing a hotel in Nha Trang?

I'll help. The scheme is like this. With a probability of 99%, you fly on a tour, and do not fly in yourself, buying tickets separately and booking a hotel. This means that you will choose hotels from the list of a specific tour operator, for specific dates. And each time it can be a different selection of hotels. So it makes no sense for me to write some names before you look at the list of hotels on the website of the tour operator with which you will fly, for your exact date.
The next point is the price. Everyone has it different possibilities. My opinion is that it is better to spend more on the holiday itself (excursions, food, shopping) than to invest in a hotel where you will come, by and large, only to spend the night. Therefore, it is worth choosing hotels not by name, but by a price tag that is acceptable to you personally. And now, within a certain price level, you write out 3-5 names, and send them to me, and I advise, based primarily on the location. Even if you choose a last minute tour, there is always 5 minutes to beacon me on whatsapp / viber and get real information. The vast majority of hotels I have seen personally.
Very frequently asked question about hotels - about sockets. Our outlets are standard.
And about the passport - they will ask for it and will keep it at the reception as a deposit. Don't worry, it's safe. For me, this is better than pledging $100 or freezing it on the card.

? How much money do you need to take to Vietnam?

Dollars are the best. Large bills (50 and 100 usd) are exchanged a little more expensive than small ones. Small ones are not needed at all in Vietnam, all payments are in dong. Old banknotes (gray) in most cases change in the same way as new ones (green), there are no problems. It is better to exchange dollars in jewelry stores and travel agencies, the rate is the same as in banks (only those are not located in tourist center and ask for a passport). The exchange rate for July 2017 is approximately 22.650 dong per dollar. If you have euros, you can also take it, you can change it in every second exchanger. You should not take rubles, only if, in extreme cases, the exchange rate is very unfavorable. I periodically help out my tourists, exchange their rubles for dollars at the exchange rate of the Central Bank, and for excursions I accept payment in rubles in cash or on a Sberbank / Alpha card. If so, keep that in mind.

? How to convert dongs to rubles to understand how much it costs?

The simplest thing is to multiply by 2.7 (1 dollar in the Russian Federation costs 60 rubles, and in Vietnam 1 dollar is equal to 22.65 thousand dongs - that's where this coefficient comes from). Don't laugh, you don't need a calculator. After all, you only need to multiply the price in dongs by exactly 3, and then subtract a tenth. So it turns out that multiplied by 2.7. For example, I very often invite my tourists to have dinner together and try a chic soup that costs 25,000 dong (such prices for street food). We multiply by 3 (75) and subtract a tenth (7.5) - we get the price of the soup about 67 rubles.

? Do I need to take a local sim card?

In 95% of cases, you do not need it - here we have Wi-Fi in every hotel and cafe. Whatsapp and viber work without sim card. Very often people write that they cannot beacon on whatsapp - they cannot find the desired number on the phone. It just needs to be done right. For example, my number +84916973542 must first be saved as a contact. And after 5 minutes (not immediately) you will find it in WhatsApp / Viber / Telegram. Often local numbers written like this: 0916973542 (this is my number again, no longer in the international format). You can call this way, but you won’t find it in the programs, so it’s better to immediately save it in the international format, including the + sign, don’t forget to put it. Since +84 is the country code for Vietnam.
When you still need local sim card(calls to elderly parents), you can buy Viettel or Vinafone (now, when buying, they already require the original passport). The price with a good internet package is 140 thousand VND, with the possibility of voice calls 170 thousand VND. You can do this at travel agencies. But I repeat once again - almost everyone has enough Wi-Fi.

We were told on the bus from the airport that tomorrow we must definitely meet with the hotel guide for registration, give the voucher. And he will give information about the return flight. This is true?

Here attention! This is all complete, absolute lies.
You are arriving at new country, and, of course, believe what the representative of the tour operator tells you. This is what they use. The only purpose of such a deception and the only purpose of the meeting is the sale of excursions there in the style of "only here and now."
Remember! No additional registration required! None at all! All information about you has long been in the system. It is often said that new registration rules have just come into effect - be aware that this is a ruse. All these vouchers are filkin's letters, the guides at the meeting do not need them, no one takes them. Walking around the city, you do not need to have ANY documents with you, the police never stop tourists. We don't have a concentration camp here! Tour operators intimidate you in every possible way just so that you don’t get away from them.
You will not receive any information about the return flight at the meeting either. You will be told that the leaflet with the time of departure will be posted on the eve of voooot there. And that's all. And the best seats on the flight (where more space for legs) will sell for $70 per seat.
For this reason, there is no free or online check-in for flights from Nha Trang to Russia, it was done on purpose.
To go or not to go to a useless meeting is up to you. It usually lasts an hour and a half, do not think that you will get off quickly.
The most important thing is that it will not just be a presentation of the tour operator's excursions (that would be fine), but again a deception, and on all counts.
They will tell you that your insurance with other travel agencies does not work, this is not true. They will tell you that it is supposedly more expensive to go to Winpearl on your own, and the food is expensive, and the taxi back is very expensive, and they will also say that they carry on those days when there are no Chinese. This is not true from beginning to end. You don’t need excursions to Winperl at all, everything is simple and clear there.
You will be told that Dalat is only good for two days, and the most interesting excursion- this is Saigon expensive excursions). You must understand that the guide receives a percentage of the sale of excursions. All, absolutely all the information that you will hear from the hotel guide is aimed at selling their programs and today. If their excursions are not needed, the meeting does not make sense at all, your absence will have no consequences. In my memory for 6 years, none of the tourists have yet been left in Vietnam, there were no overlays. Don't be afraid to skip a meeting if you don't want to waste your time (according to statistics, up to half of tourists don't go to it). Help later (if anything, just in case) from hotel guides usually a little, kick back for a sweet soul. Read the internet on this subject. In general, with them it is necessary to behave directly according to the wise proverb "do not believe, do not be afraid, do not ask." And don't go if you value your time. This is my personal opinion and you decide.

? How much money to take with you on vacation? How much does it cost to eat in a cafe?

Everyone's budget is different, but there is such a life-tested formula for a good rest - $ 50 per day per person. Take more, in case you see something interesting, as well as for unexpected expenses. Take mostly cash, take cards too, but in reserve. There are many ATMs, but the commission is often rather big, without a commission (of a Vietnamese bank) you can withdraw money only at MB Bank ATMs.
For food, the price tag is about the same. The lowest limit (Vietnamese street food, which I personally love) is 1-2 dollars per serving. Rice with meat/vegetables, noodles with meat/vegetables, various soups. Now we are talking about eateries where the Vietnamese themselves eat, these are not tourist places. Fortunately, Nha Trang is a very convenient resort in this regard - there is no tourist ghetto, hotels and all infrastructure are located in an authentic environment, and you can always eat Vietnamese, if you wish. And in tourist places dishes cost from 3-5 dollars and more. The Vietnamese themselves prefer to eat seafood in special restaurants with a bunch of basins with live sea food. Follow their example. At least once more go to the "buffets" that are now popular in Nha Trang - Buffet with seafood for 10-12 dollars per person, while you will fry everything at your table. All payments in Nha Trang (except excursions) are made in dongs. Do not let the Vietnamese themselves get the "necessary" banknotes out of your hands, do not be afraid to seem slow. Pay only after you have exactly figured out the denomination of banknotes and agree with the bill.

Do I need to do any vaccinations before the holidays? What is the most to be feared? What are the general safety rules?

No vaccinations are required. But it is better to take a first aid kit with you, with proven medicines for poisoning, headaches, colds, and allergies. Here's what's causing the most trouble:
- Sun!!! No matter how much you tell tourists that our sun is very cruel, it's all useless. Are burning down. The extra half an hour can be very critical. Panthenol is sold with us, but it will not return a few days of spoiled rest.
- Unwashed hands and fruit!!! Everyone, like fire, is afraid of low-quality ice (very rarely, in fact, I observed problems with it in cafe-restaurants), but they forget to wash their hands and fruit. The virus can knock you out of normal life for five days, so be strict with yourself in this matter.
- Seafood "grandmothers" on the beach/street. Do you want to play Russian roulette for severe poisoning? Avoid walking pots with beautiful crabs and lobsters (these are not lobsters, as everyone here mistakenly calls them). All this was bought on the market YESTERDAY in a state of substandard for a penny, and sometimes you are called the initial price of 500 thousand dongs per lobster. You are proud that you brilliantly bargained it for 100, but you don’t know that it was bought for 30 (!), and even more so you don’t know that in this moment stronger - spices or cadaveric poison. Don't take risks.
- Do not ride rickshaws, they are scammers. It is extremely rare to hear successful stories of rides, usually all as one - “divorce”. First they say one price (20-50 dong), and then it turns out that you "misunderstood", and the price is actually 200-500 dong. A very unpleasant and unnecessary situation for you, and the pleasure of riding in any case is so-so.
- Do not carry a handbag on your shoulder(only over the head and on the chest), do not hold the phone relaxed in your hands, and in general, the less money with you, the better. Never unnecessarily carry your passport with you (the fact that it was taken to the reception is normal, do not worry). Do not show how much money you have with you when making payments, and do not carry a lot with you, again. They can envy you and set thieves on a motorbike at you. They are not found. I don't want to scare you, but a little vigilance can't hurt.
- Drink in the evening on the beach in good company and swim? It's a good idea if there is someone to guard your things. As soon as you come to the beach, you are already being watched (sometimes they communicate with you, smile). But the goal is the same - phone and money. If you don't want to lose them, either don't take them with you, or don't swim, or leave someone to look after them.

Do Vietnamese understand Russian? English? How to communicate with them? It is worth bringing something from Russia to the reception, maybe they will give a better number?

In Nha Trang, there are a huge number of signs / inscriptions / menus in Russian, and there are Russian-speaking Vietnamese, but the vast majority of the staff with whom you will contact speak neither Russian nor English. It makes no sense to pronounce words loudly and wave your arms, act smarter. Hotels always have Wi-Fi, use online translators for simple words, but in general, pictures are always better. Pictures are always clear to everyone, save what you need in advance in the phone’s memory, and always show them on the street / in the store, and do not pantomime. It just makes life easier.
Be prepared for the fact that the waiter does not even know the words “glass”, “salt”, “sugar”, that is, the basics, in English. The fact is that grassroots personnel are often recruited from the surrounding villages, what kind of English is there.
There is an opinion that the Vietnamese like Russian chocolate, and if you smile at the reception and give a chocolate bar, they will give you good number. This is wrong. The myth about chocolate comes from the fact that the Vietnamese, who studied in the USSR, miss our products, including chocolate. But there are few of them, and their level is not the reception desk. The attitude towards Russian tourists is not what it was ten years ago. It's commonplace now, conveyor belt, so don't have high expectations. As for the numbers, they simply will not understand you, they will miss the words about the “best” room, especially, more often, and there is not much choice. A powerful ally in communicating with the Vietnamese is humor, they are always ready to laugh and joke, use a smile as a means to an end. And presents from Russia are much more in demand by Russians living in Nha Trang. By making friends with them, you will get more practical advice about the rest, as they better imagine the tastes and preferences of our tourists.

? Is it worth it to buy alcohol in duty free or is there no problem with it in Nha Trang?

If you like high-quality alcohol, it is better to buy in a dutik. Unfortunately, fakes of popular brands of alcohol are often found in Vietnam. I got myself pretty sick once when I bought some good whisky. There are few stores with a decent choice, there is no 100% guarantee against fakes anywhere, and local alcohol, no matter what they say about it, is still not so good. So to speak, for the test, such a "holiday" option. And, looking ahead, I’ll say that I consider it an unreasonable waste of valuable baggage weight to take local alcohol from Vietnam to Russia as a gift. Well, he's not worth it.

? Our tour includes a free sightseeing tour of Nha Trang. What is this tour?

This is not a tour. Under the guise of a "latex factory", "tea house", "clothes factory", "jewelry factory" you are tritely taken to shops located in remote areas (so that you do not run away, having understood what is the matter). The prices there are very high, very high! Otherwise, why make this trip free? They take a long time. Plus 1-2 attractions in the style of "running". Now, in the age of the Internet, when all information is open, it is very strange to look at people in huge tour operator buses, who are driven by a herd, like, excuse me, sheep, and, of course, “sheared”. The reason is in the sweet word "freebie", magical for the ear of a Russian person. Sometimes, even realizing that this is a "scam", tourists still decide to "ride" around the city for free without buying anything. In fact, you still pay, losing almost wasted a day of rest, and with it the money that this day costs as part of your tour. Compare this shopping spree with the unique and rich itinerary of my Real Nha Trang tour, which ($25) pays for itself in just a few days thanks to the information it provides.

? We arrive for a period of more than 15 days. Need to get a visa?

Yes, if your stay in Vietnam is more than 15 days (calendarly, both the day of arrival and the day of departure are considered, and not days of stay), you need a visa. Everything is written in detail in the next article about visas, here I will only say that it is quick and easy. A visa for citizens of the Russian Federation is put in the passport at the airport of arrival FREE OF CHARGE if there is a special Invitation (I do it if necessary), a completed application form (the form is on the website with a sample filling) and two photos 4 by 6, color, on a white background (in reality, they take almost any size and one). Tourist visas There are single (single entry) and multi (multiple entry), for a month and for three. A multivisa is needed if you definitely decide to go somewhere else, except for Vietnam (Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Hong Kong), and then return to the country.

We really want to go to Cambodia, see Angkor Wat. How to do it? Where else can you fly from Nha Trang?

From experience, 99% of issues on Cambodia are removed from the agenda instantly. The fact is that going to Cambodia is either expensive (by plane, and there is no direct flight from Nha Trang), or long (by bus). It simply does not fit into the framework of a regular tour to Nha Trang for 12-13 days either in terms of budget or timing. Unless, of course, Angkor Wat is not the goal of the whole trip (this happened). This does not prevent travel agencies from offering excursions to Cambodia, but almost no one takes them. If you really don’t want to sit in Nha Trang (for example, you got into a bad weather strip), it’s much more interesting and cheaper to fly direct flights to Bangkok, Hong Kong or Kuala Lumpur ( last flight brand new, launching in September of this year). Not to mention the fact that in winter it is easier and cheaper to escape from bad weather in Nha Trang to the neighboring resort of Mui Ne (Phan Thiet). By bus for $6. Do not forget that you will need a visa to travel abroad as part of your tour package to Nha Trang to re-enter Vietnam. This issue is resolved 4-5 days in advance, I can help, so nothing dramatic, you just need to remember about it.

Have a nice rest!
