Hotel Baiyoke Sky in Bangkok: photos, prices and our review. MahaNakhon is the tallest skyscraper in Thailand.

304 meters - this is the height of the tallest building in Thailand.

By the way, Baiyoke Sky Hotel has several restaurants, starting from the cozy Sky Coffee Shop and Fruit Buffet on the 18th floor, and ending with the inimitable Bangkok Balcony, Crystal Grill and The Roof Top Bar, which are located on floors 81-83 and have an amazing and unique view of the city of Bangkok. Almost all of them are open until 24 hours, although one restaurant closes at one in the morning - all this can also be clarified on the website of the highest hotel in Thailand.

However, the main attraction of the hotel is Observation deck(observatory point), and it was she who won our hearts - after all, we did not stop at the hotel itself, but we walked around the site to our heart's content!

Baiyoke Sky observation deck on the 77th and 84th floors

They say that in good weather from the lookout Baiyoke playgrounds can even be seen Gulf of Thailand, which is located 25 kilometers from Bangkok.

However, high humidity and smoke, which permanently wraps up the capital of Thailand, did not allow us to accurately identify the sea somewhere on the horizon. Although, perhaps, if you look closely at our photos, then the outlines of the sea surface in the distance are still guessed.

Baiyoke Sky half an hour before sunset - view from the observation deck to Bangkok

So, the Baiyoke Sky observation deck is really impressive. How to get to it?

First way: stay at a hotel paying at least one night, which will cost you at least 2100 baht. Each hotel guest has free access to the treasured viewpoints

Second way suitable even for those who do not want to stay in an expensive hotel. The Baiyoke Sky observation deck is open to everyone from the street, although you will have to pay 300 baht (from 10 to 18 hours) or 400 baht (from 18:00 to 22:30) to visit it. Payment is made on the 1st or 18th floor at special cash desks. There is also a currency exchange. Nobody controls the amount of time you spend on the viewing platform, so the smartest tourists flock to the Bayyok Hotel around 17:00 or a little later. In this case, you can visit the site for $ 10 both before sunset and after it. It is worth noting that it gets dark very sharply in the tropics, and the daytime and evening views of Bangkok "from the sky" are significantly different.

Third way: as I mentioned above, there are several restaurants in the hotel. For customers of restaurants, the entrance to the observation decks of the 77th and 84th floors is free. However, the minimum order will cost you a little more than a regular ticket to the observation deck. There is clearly a logic to this, but this option may be the most interesting and profitable, depending on the current offers of restaurants, your plans for the evening and other circumstances.

How to get to Bayyok observation deck on the 77th floor?

The hotel has a special elevator that takes tourists clearly to the "Observation deck" (literally: "observation deck"). The great news is that this elevator has a completely transparent wall. If you have time to take a seat in the very depths of the elevator, then you will be lucky enough to see how the glass capsule of the elevator is gradually gaining height, and the view from the "window" is changing before your eyes. However, the elevator will take you to the floor marked "77" quite quickly, so make sure to capture these moments.

The 77th floor Baiyoke site is enclosed space. In addition to the beautiful view, here you can find stationary binoculars, information stands about the tallest building in Thailand, comic photo platforms, museum exhibits and all sorts of small chips. For example, on one of the tables we found a seal depicting the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. They didn’t come up with anything more original than putting a stamp on a 20 baht bill. Now we have a special banknote in our collection with the image of the tallest skyscraper in Thailand. :))))

Knock knock - one of the exhibits on the 77th floor)))

There is a small cafeteria at the end of a corridor that runs along a long window overlooking the city. Here, those who wish can arrange a snack for themselves or exchange the tear-off coupon of their entrance ticket for a free cocktail, juice or beer.

How do I get to the Baiyoke Sky revolving observation deck on the 84th floor?

After you have refreshed yourself with juice or a shake, you can proceed to the final part of the adventure on a skyscraper. A special elevator will take you to one of the last floors. Then you have to walk quite a bit on the stairs (so that the conquest of the peak seems more deserved). In the end, you will undoubtedly end up on a revolving view point. Polite hotel staff and signs in English and even in Russian will not let you get lost.

Please note that smoking on the rotating observation deck is strictly prohibited, and this is monitored by security (a large fine is provided). And this is good, because there are a lot of people there, everyone wants to breathe, and there is nowhere to put cigarette butts. According to my observations, many compatriots tried to smoke, having made a "difficult and long" way on two elevators from the 1st to the 84th floor. However, you should not do this - if anything, I warned you. 🙂

The spinning deck is a very windy place. This is facilitated by a height of 304 meters and a fairly fast rotation of the site. Nevertheless, we did not manage to freeze in the 40-degree heat at the top of the Bayyok Hotel. On the contrary, it was very comfortable and fresh!

84th floor - revolving view point Baiyoke Sky hotel

Despite all the splendor of the idea with rotation, photographing the city from a moving observation deck is not very convenient. Of course, you can get regular shots, but putting up a tripod, using a slow shutter speed for a night photo - this will already be unrealistic, because the whole picture will simply be smeared in motion at a slow shutter speed.

Another drawback of the observation deck on the 84th floor is the presence of plastic protection around the perimeter of the building. Photographing the city through scratched plastic is not very cool. Although small slots for the camera and hands can be found, so this problem is, in principle, solvable. The main thing is that it is absolutely impossible to accidentally fall out of this site - and this is important. Many people come here with their children - people of all ages like the place!

sky-bayoke- night view from the rotating observation deck on the 84th floor

At nightfall, the observation deck light show is also turned on, which probably looks cool from below, but from above it only interferes and lightens the footage a little.

Having seen enough of Bangkok from a bird's eye view, we returned to the 77th floor, where we found new ideas for photos. 🙂

Having gone down, we were incredibly surprised that a whole crowd of people who wanted to buy tickets to the observation deck had gathered at the entrance. When we bought tickets an hour and a half before, there was no queue at all! I believe that due to the greater flow of people after sunset, the cost of a night visit to the revolving observation deck increases by 100 baht. Although what is an extra hundred baht for tourists, many of whom may never return to Bangkok.

I also recommend watching the largest panoramic photo of Bangkok taken by a professional photographer from the Baiyoke Sky observation deck. It looks fascinating, plus the author signed the objects that are visible from the rotating platform of the 84th floor. It's really impressive!

MahaNakhon

In 2015 in Bangkok, a new tallest building in Thailand with an extraordinary "pixel" design should appear. The MahaNakhon building currently under construction will be 314 meters high and will house a shopping center, a hotel and some of the most expensive apartments in Bangkok, ranging from $1 million to $11 million! Since June 20, 2011, the Mahanakhon skyscraper in Bangkok has already been built, so it won't be long Baiyoke Tower Tower II to be in the lead in Tai! 🙂

Ocean 1 Tower in Pattaya

By 2016 in Pattaya (distance from Bangkok to Pattaya is 156 km) a 367-meter residential building is planned to be erected in the Jomtien Beach area. It is assumed that by the time Ocean 1 Tower is built in Pattaya, not only will it become the tallest building in Thailand, but it can also become the tallest fully residential building in the world.

However, in Dubai and Panama, there are also two fully residential developments in the planning stages that will have over 100 floors, so they will also qualify for this honorary title. Whether the Ocean 1 Tower will have time to become the tallest residential building on the planet depends largely on the builders in Panama and the UAE. At the same time, the Ocean 1 Tower Pattaya project is at the stage of adjusting the calculations of seismic safety and wind resistance. Oh, it's not an easy job to design skyscrapers!

What can I say about the Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok?

Our room on the 55th floor of the Sky Zone cost 3100 baht (78 euros) per night.

Despite modern look skyscraper, the rooms are quite worn out by time for their value. Repair would be nice...

…but the rooms are quite spacious in size…

Huge floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows are also pleasing:

Well, the view of Bangkok outside the windows of the Baiyoke Sky Hotel is without comment at all. The neighboring skyscraper looked so low from the window of our room on the 55th floor:

To the left of the skyscraper is visible railroad station Ratchaparok branch of the Airport Link leading to international Airport Suvarnabhumi.

View of Bangkok at breakfast from the windows of the restaurant on the 76th floor:

View from the observation deck on the 77th floor of Bangkok during the day:

View from the open rotating observation deck of Baiyoke Sky night bangkok:

The night view of Bangkok flooded with lights from the height of the 84th floor is impressive. It feels like you have been transported to a city of the future or to another planet... By the way, the observation deck on the 84th floor is designed as something cosmic, with statues of aliens, multi-colored lights, etc.

Bangkok has an amazing observation deck from which the whole is visible. It is located on the roof of the tallest building in Bangkok - the hotel Baiyoke Sky.

The hotel consists of as many as 85 floors, the height of the building is 309 meters.

It turns out that Norwegian skydivers jumped from this hotel in 2002, thereby setting a world record for base jumping (jumping from fixed objects).

The hotel has several viewing platforms:

  • On the 77th floor there is a closed area with huge panoramic windows
  • On the 84th floor - open area, rotating in a circle (at this point, the height is 250 m.)

1.1. How to get to the observation deck (options)

To get to the observation deck you can use one of three methods:

  1. Rent a hotel room. Entrance to the observation deck is free of charge for all hotel guests. But keep in mind that the cost of rooms in Baiyoke starts from 2000 baht / night, rooms are located from the 22nd to the 74th floor. The higher the floor, the higher the cost (only 3 different zones - standart, sky, space). The reviews write that the cost is greatly overpriced, the rooms are old, an even bigger problem is the eternal crowds of tourists, there is always a queue for the elevator, so if you prefer quiet hotels, it’s better to stay somewhere else, and go to Baiyoke only to the observation deck. Strangely, the agoda prices are even a bit cheaper than the official website, so if you decide to stay there, check where the prices are better first. You can book at agoda here.
The current prices for hotel rooms can be viewed right here:
  2. have dinner at one of the restaurants at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. The system is like this - you pay a fixed amount for dinner per person, the price includes a visit to the observation decks. There are plenty of restaurants for every taste, there is even a fruit buffet (just right for raw foodists), the cost is 350 baht per person (it turns out even more profitable than just buying a ticket to the observation deck). It is better to book tables in advance, because. there are many who want it, you can directly through hotel official website.
  3. Buy ticket separately to the observation deck.

We used the 3rd option - we bought tickets only to the observation deck (by the way, the ticket includes a free drink, but more on that later).

1.2. Visiting Information

Ticket price: from 10.00 to 18.00 - 300 baht, after 18.00 - 400 baht.

Opening hours of the observation deck: 10.00-22.30 (Mon-Fri), 9.30-22.30 (Sat-Sun)

1.3. How to get there

Getting there is easy, there are the following options:

  • by city bus - very close to the stop, routes 13, 14, 17, 38, 54, 72, 73, 74, 77, 140, 183, 204, 514, 536
  • on - stop Pratunam (I came to this pier in and)
  • on ground metro directly from the airport - Ratchaprarop station
  • by taxi or tuktuk (just say Baiyoke Sky)

In general, the tower is easy to see from almost anywhere in the city center:

It starts to get dark, the backlight (a round rotating platform) is lit on the Bayok Sky observation deck:

The ideal option is when you managed to get to the first observation deck (on the 77th floor) before dark in order to have time to look at day and night Bangkok. Night, of course, is much more beautiful, but daytime views are better in the photo, there is no flare. So come by 5:30 pm.

We did not have time to go in until 18.00, so we paid by 400 baht and climbed to the observation deck after sunset.

2. Photo tour of the building

2.1. Ground floor and cash desks

First floor of Baiyoke Sky:

There was no queue at the box office at all, most likely, many people buy tickets in advance through agencies. We bought tickets, we were sent to a special elevator for tourists (the elevator is different for hotel guests).

There was a small queue for the elevator. We got along with a group of Chinese, so while we were driving, we listened to ah-sighs (for some reason, the Chinese always listen to guides very emotionally and gasp in unison for almost every phrase, very funny :). The elevator only goes up to the 77th floor. But I just wanted to get there first, and then to the very top.

We went into the elevator, which looked completely ordinary. But as soon as we went, literally after a few floors it turned out that this elevator was not quite ordinary, but panoramic. So one of the walls of the elevator was completely glass, and suddenly we had a stunning view of the city. It was so unexpected that even a little scary at first.

2.2. Museum on the 77th floor

So, we arrived at the 77th floor. On the floor there is a museum with various exhibits, against which you can take interesting photos.

A small copy of the hotel itself:

Golden masks:

Museum - an exposition of antiques (reminded, but somehow everything is too shabby):

You can even climb into a tuk-tuk:

2.3. Observation deck on the 77th floor

There is also an observation deck on this floor. Floor-to-ceiling windows all around the floor are all glass so the view is amazing. Very scary and at the same time breathtaking.

View of Bangkok at night from the 77th floor:

It’s a pity, because of the lights of the night city, the photos are illuminated:

After we had seen enough of the views from the 77th floor, it was time to climb higher. How nice it is to walk without excursion groups. All the groups were long gone and we enjoyed the views as much as we wanted.

They asked how to get to the 84th floor (namely, there is the highest observation deck, located on a spinning platform). It turns out that the elevator can only take you to the 83rd floor (it’s hard to get lost - there is only one button with the 83rd floor in the elevator), and then you need to climb one floor on foot.

From here we go already on foot, the door to the clouds:

It's so cool that it looks like you're going up into space! And then there's the alien and Spiderman!

2.4. Observation deck on the 84th floor

Welcome to the rotating platform on the roof:

The upper platform is open, that is, there is no glass and no roof, but there are gratings, and also strong wind. It seemed to me that it is much less scary there than on the 77th floor, because you are standing next to the side, and somehow everything seems more reliable.

Let's go to the platform:

The view is awesome, of course! It is a pity that it is not possible to take normal photos, because the platform is moving all the time.

Highways like arteries pierce the city:

Having made a full circle on the upper platform, we went back. You can only leave from there on the 77th floor. We looked there again, and then began to look for where you can get free drinks. It turned out that on the same 77th floor. And for some reason, a very small number of people go to this bar, perhaps they don’t know, no one specifically talks about it, we ourselves asked.

2.5. Bar on the 77th floor

You can choose any drink from the menu, there are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, teas, coffee, juices. I ordered a non-alcoholic pina colada, very tasty, by the way:

It was great to sit there on top with a cocktail. The view reminded me of Moscow at night from the 61st floor of Moscow City. Some nostalgia kicked in...

There was almost no one in the bar, except for us, just a couple of people and the attendants:

3. Results

That's how we got to this amazing place. I definitely recommend visiting, such a height, such views of the city at night - unforgettable impressions. Especially if you are afraid of heights, the spirit is simply breathtaking, the height is mesmerizing - although scary, you can’t take your eyes off.

I have long wanted to go to the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, the highest hotel in Bangkok, but everything was not on the way. On this visit, I decided to make special time to visit this place. Let for some a banal attraction, but I love views and heights. Almost always in major cities I visit high points, for example in Malaysia, or in Hong Kong.

Please note that there are 3 zones there: Standard (22-45 floors), Sky-Heavenly (46-63 floors) and Space-Space (64-74 floors), and prices differ depending on the zone. To see as much as possible from your window, you need to settle in the very top (Space). And the standard is better not to book at all, everything is not very good there.

The best way to get discounts on hotels in Thailand is through RoomGuru. Here is a direct link to you, be sure to check before booking if there is a discount for it anywhere else or not.

Observation deck on the 77th floor

So let's go up together? If you buy a ticket below, then immediately after entering the building there will be a special elevator leading only to the observation deck (the rest of the elevators to the 18th floor and to the rooms).

So, this elevator has a glass wall. And after some time after the ascent, you will see how you gain altitude. If you want to stand close to the glass, then immediately push through to the back wall of the elevator, it is she who is transparent.

The Observation Desk on the 77th floor is the first of observation platforms. It is closed and you can look at Bangkok only through glass stained with foreheads and fingers. However, this is not reflected in the photographs.

You can come here right before sunset and have time to take daytime and sunset photos. As soon as it gets dark, we climb higher.

Observation deck on the 84th floor

The second platform (Revolving Desk) is located on the 84th floor, turning around its axis. We climb it after the first one either by elevator or stairs. It is open and here you will hear the city noise and feel the warm wind, the immersion in height is more complete.

The first thought is, well, finally here you can shoot not through the window ... But it wasn’t there, because instead of them there is a grid partially covered with plexiglass. Night photos are just as hard to take from here, because the site is moving and there will still be blur, even with a tripod. And somewhere at 6 pm, a flashing backlight is lit.

Under the very roof there are several restaurants (Bangkok Balcony, Bangkok Sky, Stella Palace, Crystal Grill), which are loved by Russian tourists. However, in the hotel itself, it feels like some compatriots. Since I have not been to restaurants, I can not say anything about them.

If anything, then downstairs in the nearest shopping center (Fashion Mall) there is an ordinary Thai food court, where the prices are regular, not tourist ones. I indicated the food court on the map, it is located next to the famous Pantip Plaza, 10 minutes from Baiyoke to go.

Opening hours and ticket price

Opening hours: from 10:00 am to 02:00 am.

Ticket price: 400 baht. The price includes a drink at the Roof Top Bar on the 83rd floor.

But there is a hack. You can pay a little more and get a lot more. You need to buy a ticket not to the observation deck, but to the fruit buffet (buffet)! Tickets must be purchased online through Klook. A voucher will be sent to your email and then you need to show it at the entrance.

Entrance fee: 490 baht per adult and 250 baht per child up to 120 cm. Included in the price: unlimited drinks, thai fruit and visiting viewing platforms. This is more profitable, especially if you are hungry. The buffet is open from 10.30 to 20.30.

Klook has another option for the more hungry: Dinning Buffet. Also a buffet, but no longer fruity: Thai food, pizza, pasta, desserts. The cost is 575 baht per adult and 330 baht per child. Lookouts are included with the price. Quite. The only thing is that there is not a very large choice of time (there is lunch and dinner).

And there is also a restaurant on the 81st floor. For those who want to dine in a restaurant with a view, not just a snack and a lookout. Naturally, from the restaurant you can go to the viewing points.

How to get to Baiyoke Sky

The Baiyoke Sky Hotel is located next to the Ratchaprarop metro station, this is the City Line branch that comes from. That is, go in a straight line, 20-30 minutes, and then from the metro another 5-10 minutes on foot. It is not difficult to navigate, the hotel can be seen from almost all sides, it is also the highest.

You can also come from the side, on foot or from other metro lines. Alternatively, take a river bus along the klong, this is convenient if you get from the Khaosan Road area.

Hotel and skyscraper Baiyoke Sky in the Pratunam area is unique place in Bangkok, as it is on the list of the tallest buildings in the world and is the fourth tallest hotel in the world. Its construction began in 1997.

Baiyoke Sky: height

With the help of special technologies, the Baiyoke Sky tower was built with a height of 309 meters. In order to ensure the stability of the entire structure, special piles had to be driven to a depth of 35 meters.

Baiyoke Sky Bangkok: how many floors

Today, the Baiyoke Sky tower consists of 84 floors, and the entire building is served by 7 elevators, one of which is panoramic. In the skyscraper Baiyoke Sky is used in the most diverse ways for its intended purpose. Here, from the 22nd to the 74th floors, the Baiyoke Sky Bangkok hotel of the same name is located, and on the remaining floors there are a wide variety of cafes where you can try Thai cuisine, there are buffet restaurants and even a floating market. It is interesting to visit the Bayok Sky observation deck on the 77th floor, as well as on the very last 84th floor, which also rotates.

Things to do in Baiyoke Sky Tower

Going for a bite to eat is a great reason to visit Baiyoke Sky tower, especially since there are enough places where you can do it while enjoying the wonderful scenery. A cheap meal for 100-200 baht will not work here. Still, the Baiyoke Sky skyscraper is clean tourist place. The main contingent is Chinese, Indians and Russians. By the way, package tourists are brought here, so there are always a lot of people.

Among the establishments of the Baiyoke Sky tower, the Fruit buffet coffee house on the 18th floor can be noted. Visitors are offered a menu of interesting local desserts and fruits. A light snack with freshly squeezed juices, popsicles, dried fruits and other dishes will be not only tasty, but also healthy.

Dinner at Baiyoke Sky Bangkok

Who has not yet had time to appreciate the national Thai cuisine - it's time to visit the "Baiyoke floating market". The restaurant is located on the 75th floor and is hard to miss, because its interior is fully consistent with the name. One floor above, on levels 76-78 is the international restaurant "Bangkok Sky Restaurant". In the mornings, guests of the Baiyoke Sky Bangkok hotel have breakfast here, and Thai tom yum soup is served for lunch, which is popular with both locals and tourists. The restaurant provides a buffet system, the cost of which is fixed - 960 baht. In addition to Thai cuisine, Chinese, Vietnamese, European, Japanese dishes are prepared here.

Connoisseurs Chinese food in the Bayok Sky skyscraper, Stella Palace, located on level 79, has long been chosen. Top chefs will cook Hong Kong pig, Peking duck and other exotic dishes. In addition, there are seafood dishes on the menu. For a buffet here you will have to pay an average of 1250 baht.

The most popular establishment in the Baiyoke Sky Tower is Bangkok Balcony, which is located on the 81st floor. The special love of tourists for this place is due to beautiful view on the city, opening from the summer platform. Because of this advantage, booking a table in the air-zone costs 1280 baht. But it is worth considering that it is better to book tables in advance. In inner hall you can stay for 720 baht. The menu here is versatile because it is international.

Viewpoints at Baiyoke Sky

Tourists are attracted by the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of local landscapes greater height. The observation decks in Baiyoke Sky are ideal for this, especially since there are two of them. The first is located on the 77th floor, where there is also a local museum where you can learn the history of the construction of the building itself, see with your own eyes old traditional Thai houses. Do not forget that before visiting you must purchase a ticket on the first floor of the building.

But more interesting in Bayok Sky is the observation deck at the highest level 84. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is rotating. But here the entrance is organic. Only those who live in the Baiyoke Sky Hotel can freely enter here. For everyone else, the entrance fee will be paid - 400 baht. But only for foreigners. Thais get in for free. But if you order dinner for 700 baht in a restaurant, then as an additional bonus you get free entry to the site. As for the best time to visit, if possible, plan to visit here around 6 pm - this time is unique in that you can see the sunset and night city. The view from the Baiyoke Sky tower is breathtaking and very memorable. Real concrete jungle.

Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok

If there is a desire and the travel budget allows, then you can stay for a few days in the hotel of the same name. The prices here are not too sky-high, as the Baiyoke Sky Bangkok hotel has a 4-star status, but the level of service remains at the highest level. This is one of the oldest buildings in Thailand, the Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok was opened in the 80s, so it already looks rather shabby. Maybe in the 80s it was just “wow”, today in 2018 the Baiyoke Sky tower is already somewhat obsolete.

It should be borne in mind that there is a division at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok into conditional zones. On the 64th-74th floors there is the "Space Zone", on the 46th-63rd floors there is the "Sky Zone", and on the 22nd-45th levels there is the "Standard zone". Most rooms have panoramic windows from which the whole city is clearly visible. Entire glazed terraces are located in rooms 54-57 floors.

At the Baiyoke Sky Hotel (Bangkok), guests will not be bored, because a lot of entertainment has been thought out for them, compactly located on the territory. There is a pool, spa and even a golf course. Restaurants often host themed evenings with national dances and live music. For guests of the Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok, there is also a beauty salon, a gym and a sauna, so that you can ensure yourself complete care.

This place is also for business people- if you need to hold a seminar or conference, then equipped rooms in the business center are at your service.

Baiyoke Suite

Next to the Baiyoke Sky skyscraper, there is a second high-rise building and the Baiyok Suite Hotel, a hotel a little lower and at a slightly simpler price. I stopped in it. The Baiyoke Suite Hotel has old furniture and you can’t go out to the balcony (windows and doors are boarded up, there are signs that it’s forbidden to go out). There is a panoramic restaurant on the 42nd floor. The Baiyoke Suite Hotel includes breakfast, which takes place in this restaurant. There is also a free observation deck, you can go outside. The view is breathtaking and very scary. The wind just hums, a lot of emotions.

Skyscraper Bayok Sky is located in the Pratunam district in Bangkok with eternal traffic jams, crowds of people and endless shops. Here you always feel like you are in the Vykhino metro at rush hour. Too many people, too. In the Pratunam market, even traffic jams are formed from people.

Pratunam in Bangkok is fairly easy to get to. public transport. It is necessary to get to the metro station "Ratchaparok", from there it is 200 meters to go to the high-rise. You can also walk from Phaya Thai MRT Station in 30 minutes.

Pratunam District

very lively. There are always a lot of people here, even at 5 am. Many tourists know the Pratunam area for its market and shopping centers. Here you can really buy a lot of very cheap clothes. Prices are really lower than in cheap Pattaya and much lower resort islands like Phuket and Koh Chang.

But there is one big "BUT" - everything, absolutely everything in the market and in Pratunam shopping centers (for example, in the Platinum shopping center) is sold without fitting.

That is, you buy a pig in a poke. The sizes of Thai clothes are not particularly suitable for Europeans, so buying is very risky. Half of what I bought at Pratunam simply did not fit me. If you buy every little thing - bags, belts, then, of course, it makes sense to go there.

There are a lot of people in the Pratunam area. Still, hotels are at every turn and the place is advertised as a shopping center in Bangkok. I don’t know what time the market opens, but at 5 in the morning it is already full of people, and every second one comes with a cart and terrible traffic jams form. For me personally, the market was filled with traffic jams of people. Very stressful. Purchases without fitting. A la "Gardener" in Moscow.

In the evening, the Baiyoke Sky tower is illuminated, so you won’t get lost. For me, she was a reference point for returning to the hotel.

If you walk along main street Phetchaburi Road, there's a lot shopping centers, just an infinite number. On Ratchadamri Road there is a Big C store, 7 Eleven, all kinds of eateries and restaurants. Pedestrian crossings are conveniently made (after all, there is a city in Thailand where pedestrians can safely cross the road!), There are escalators everywhere on the street, walking is much easier than standing in endless traffic jams.
In general, the area is normal, but for 1-2 nights. I couldn't live here for long.
