The height of the tallest tower in Bangkok. Baiyoke Tower II is the tallest building in Thailand (Bayyoke Sky Hotel). So what to see in Baiyoke Sky

Any tourist who comes to Thailand will not miss Baiyoke Sky in Bangkok - its description and photos are impressive, and the observation deck of the 309-meter-high skyscraper is the best in all of Asia.

Baiyoke Sky Tower was built in 1997. It is the tallest skyscraper in the Asian Southeast. It has 88 floors that house restaurants, two observation decks, an endless interweaving of shopping galleries with the best brands from around the world, a hotel with an artificial golf course and much more.

Where is it?

The tower stands on Thanon Playa Thai (Rajprarop Road) 222, in the heart of the "shopping streets", next to the giant Pratunam markets, opposite the largest hospital complex in Bangkok. Next to the skyscraper - the world-famous Thai puppet show, local dolphin show and big Buddhist temple. It is very convenient to stay here, especially for those who plan to stroll not only around, but also around the shops.

Google Maps/ google.ru

The easiest way to get there is from Suvarnabhumi airport to this place by subway. You will need a line marked "City Line", you will need to get off at the Ratchaprarop station, the platform is ground. An express departs from the airport, daily from 6 am to midnight. The distance between Suvarnabhumi and Baiyoke Sky Express overcomes in 30 minutes and for 45 baht. Aeroexpress departs from the basement of the terminal.

For a tuk-tuk ride to the tower, drivers will ask for 300-350 baht. Personal, not from the hotel, transfer or taxi will cost from 700 to 1000 baht. The hotel in the skyscraper provides a transfer service, but you should not forget to specify this when booking.

From Don Muang Airport, on the contrary, it is easier to take a taxi - the road is always free, the distance is short, the trip will cost 400-450 baht and take 20-40 minutes.

What is in the Baiyoke Sky tower?

According to the official website of the skyscraper, the most attractive for tourists are located in the building:

  1. Observation observation decks.
  2. Small museum.
  3. Unique hotel.

Although there are many shops and boutiques in the tower, in which buyers are always crowded, the site does not consider them as advantages of a skyscraper.

Lookouts

Baiyoke Sky has two viewing platforms, the best not only in Bangkok, but throughout Asia. They boast not only viewing height and views, but also the most modern security system, lifting and, of course, technical equipment.

The first platform is the Observation Desk, located on the 77th floor. There are amazing photo opportunities here. The site is equipped with telescopes, much more convenient and modern than on eiffel tower. There is also multimedia that children love - maps can determine what exactly is happening "under their feet" below and much more.

The second platform is an open rotating panoramic platform Sky Walk. It is located on the 84th floor. The viewing height is 250 meters above the ground.

Venues are open:

  • from 9:30 to 22:30 on weekdays;
  • from 10:00 to 23:00 on weekends.

Tickets are sold either at the box office located in the foyer of the skyscraper, or at the reception desk on the 18th floor.

Visit cost:

  1. 300 baht for afternoon and morning.
  2. 400 baht for visits after 18:00 and before closing.

In the late hours, you can take incredible photos of the setting sun, which are very impressive even with non-professional equipment. A bonus to the ticket is a soft drink in the Roof Top bar, where you can immediately view the pictures you have taken and share them - stable WI-FI in the bar hall, and several sockets next to each table.

Tourists are lifted up by 7 elevators - 6 high-speed and 1 panoramic. Panoramic elevator goes only to the first platform on the 77th floor.

Guests of the hotel in Baiyoke Sky and restaurants of the tower can climb the observation decks absolutely free of charge, the possibility of viewing does not depend on the amount of the check, but the guest's check or card must be available.

Museum

The museum is located on the first site and its visit does not imply a separate payment, and the opening hours coincide with the opening hours of the site.

The exposition is very original – there is a bit of everything in it. There are movie posters here. different years, comic book collections, crockery, 60s tuk tuks, lots of retro photographs, old straw hats, books, furniture from the late 50s, a pencil poster for the very first King Kong movie, there is even a wooden pop-eyed TV. Exhibits can be picked up, viewed, photographed.

This collection is called everything in a row - "Bayok Hotel Gallery". Visiting the exhibition halls leaves a mixed feeling of something in between flea market and the museum. Very interesting place where you can spend a lot of time.

The restaurants of the tower are always crowded, many of them work in club mode, so if you are going to dine at the same height as the clouds, you need to book a table in advance and be sure to clarify whether you will have to pay for the entrance.

Among the restaurants of the skyscraper it is worth highlighting:

  • Fruit buffet is a patisserie-coffee shop, the menu consists of various desserts, many variations of coffee, an extensive range of fruit dishes and soft drinks, this paradise for the sweet tooth is located on the 18th floor.
  • Bangkok Sky Restaurant - the most famous and largest skyscraper restaurant, operates in club mode, provides Buffet and feed the guests of the hotel. Cooking shows are held here, and the dishes are international - the cuisine has collected all the best from around the world. The restaurant halls are located on floors 76-78, and the entrance fee with the program is 700 baht, of course, hotel guests do not need to pay entrance.
  • Baiyoke floating market is a restaurant-shop of traditional Thai cuisine with an unusually rich menu, reasonable prices and interesting interior, the room is decorated in the form of a floating Thai market, with maximum naturalism, the institution does not have a club mode, a restaurant is located on the 75th floor.
  • Stella Palace - despite the "Americanized" sounding name, this place represents dishes Chinese food, the duck here is almost better than in Beijing itself, and the pricing policy is average - dinner for two will cost 700-900 baht along with alcohol, there is a restaurant on the 79th floor.
  • Crystal Grill is a cross between a club, a restaurant and fast food. Here good bar, but less attention is paid to food - grilled dishes made from seafood and vegetables are served. The advantage of the restaurant is in its veranda overlooking the lights of Bangkok and night programs. The entrance fee is 750-800 baht, a good mood and a glass of champagne are guaranteed as a gift to everyone, the establishment is located on the 82nd floor.
  • Bangkok Balcony is the most luxurious and expensive of all skyscraper restaurants, it has an open balcony divided into 4 air zones and one inner hall, the average check amount on the balcony is 1300-1480 baht, in the hall - 780-900 baht, the restaurant is located on the 81st floor and it is difficult to get into it - tables are booked almost a month in advance.

The Roof Top bar is very popular among the hotel guests and works as a mini-club at night. The entrance costs 400 baht, there is a bar on the 83rd floor, you don’t need to book tables, in fact, this is really not a restaurant, but a bar with a dance floor, a DJ and a small stage. Here they drink, get acquainted and dance, but do not eat, although, of course, there are tables and there are quite a lot of them.

Video: Thailand, Bangkok, Baiyoke Sky.

Baiyoke Sky The Hotel occupies floors 18 to 74. The most expensive numbers are called here the "presidential suite" and the views from the windows are no worse than from observation platforms.

The hotel has the following areas:

  1. Budget.
  2. Standard.
  3. Heavenly.
  4. Space.

Regardless of the zone and the money spent, each room has everything from marble baths and TVs to mini-bars and coffee machines.

For guests of any of the zones, a golf course, a grocery minimarket, a beauty salon, a gym and many seasonal offers for discounts from local restaurants and shops.

Internet in the hotel is paid - 400 baht per day, but in any of the local establishments there is WI-FI. The hotel is considered the best among all Asian shopping hotels, and various promotions are constantly held in it, allowing you to significantly save on accommodation, shopping or on any services.

When traveling to Bangkok, it makes sense to visit the Baiyoke Sky skyscraper in any case, if only because of its observation platforms. But those who decide to stop in it are waiting a large number of pleasant surprises including free shuttles round-trip to all local attractions and interesting places, however, you need to pre-register for them on the 18th floor at the hotel reception.

With a great view, offering a buffet.

Check prices at Baiyoke Sky Hotel

On the 76th and 78th floors - there is a Bangkok Sky restaurant, which serves dishes from various cuisines of the world (works from 6 am to 10 pm). On the 79th floor of Baiyoke Sky - Stella Palace restaurant with Chinese and international cuisine. But the most famous and popular Bangkok Balcony (thanks to tables under open sky) is located on the 81st floor. Open from 5 p.m. to midnight, the menu includes international cuisine and seafood (for tables on fresh air you have to pay 200 baht). Cristal Grill is located on the 81st and 82nd floors. The good thing is that by paying for dinner, you can get to the observation decks of Baiyoke Sky for free. Prices for buffets start at 600 baht and end at 1000. The cost depends on whether you live in a hotel or not.

If you want to save a lot on visiting restaurants, you can buy a visit on this site in advance.

observation decks

But the most important reason why tourists come here is the two observation decks of Baiyoke Sky. One is located on the 77th floor. There is a small museum that tells how the hotel was built, there are also fragments of traditional Thai houses and much more.

The second observation deck - the most popular - at 84 (it is rotating). They can be accessed not only by those who live in the hotel, but also by any person from the street, however, he will have to pay 400 baht for a ticket. In our opinion, it is better to pay for dinner at a price of 700 baht in a restaurant and visit Baiyoke Sky viewing platforms for free. The ideal time would be 18:00 to look at the capital in daylight, meet the sunset and see night city. Don't forget to bring your camera, great pictures are guaranteed!

Hotel Baiyoke Sky

If you wish, you can stay here for a few days, because Baiyoke Sky is a hotel. It has 4 stars, so the room prices cannot be called exorbitant (average - 2500 baht). They are divided into 3 zones: Space Zone - floors 64-74, Sky Zone - floors 46-63 and Standard zone on floors 22-45. Many have large panoramic windows that offer excellent views of the city. The best rooms are those with glazed terraces, which are located on floors 54-57. Check prices for Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok.

Baiyoke Sky Hotel also offers other entertainment and leisure activities - a golf course on the 18th floor, a pool and spa on the 20th. You can listen to live music, see traditional national dances, watch performances. There is a hairdressing salon, a gym, bars, various shops, a sauna. For business people, conferences and seminars there is a business center.

And in Baiyoke Sky, a glass transparent elevator is an attraction, on which you can move between floors.

How to get to Baiyoke Sky

The hotel is located in the city center. You can get to Baiyoke Sky on your own from Ratchathewi station or Ratchaprarop (Ratchaparok) station of the high-speed line from Suvarnabhumi Airport (Airport Line). As you exit with the last one, you will immediately see the most big skyscraper countries. Keep heading for it and you will be there soon. The exact location is shown on the map at the bottom of the page.

If you go from, then take the one that goes to. This bus station is located next to the metro station of the same name. Drive from it to the hotel for 30-40 minutes (with a transfer).

It's even easier to get to Baiyoke Sky from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Just take the high-speed subway there and it will take you to the Ratchaprarop (Ratchaparok) station.

If you do not want to get to Baiyoke Sky on your own, you can order sightseeing tour around the city (both in Bangkok itself and in Pattaya), which necessarily includes dinner at the hotel restaurant and great review from viewing platforms.

Bangkok has an amazing observation deck from which the whole is visible. It is located on the roof of the tallest building in Bangkok - the hotel Baiyoke Sky.

The hotel consists of as many as 85 floors, the height of the building is 309 meters.

It turns out that Norwegian skydivers jumped from this hotel in 2002, thereby setting a world record for base jumping (jumping from fixed objects).

The hotel has several viewing platforms:

  • On the 77th floor there is a closed area with huge panoramic windows
  • On the 84th floor - open area, rotating in a circle (at this point, the height is 250 m.)

1.1. How to get to the observation deck (options)

To get to the observation deck you can use one of three methods:

  1. Rent a hotel room. Entrance to the observation deck is free of charge for all hotel guests. But keep in mind that the cost of rooms in Baiyoke starts from 2000 baht / night, rooms are located from the 22nd to the 74th floor. The higher the floor, the higher the cost (only 3 different zones - standart, sky, space). The reviews write that the cost is greatly overpriced, the rooms are old, an even bigger problem is the eternal crowds of tourists, there is always a queue for the elevator, so if you prefer quiet hotels, it’s better to stay somewhere else, and go to Baiyoke only to the observation deck. Strangely, the agoda prices are even a bit cheaper than the official website, so if you decide to stay there, check where the prices are better first. You can book at agoda here.
The current prices for hotel rooms can be viewed right here:
  2. have dinner at one of the restaurants at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. The system is like this - you pay a fixed amount for dinner per person, the price includes a visit to the observation decks. There are plenty of restaurants for every taste, there is even a fruit buffet (just right for raw foodists), the cost is 350 baht per person (it turns out even more profitable than just buying a ticket to the observation deck). It is better to book tables in advance, because. there are many who want it, you can directly through hotel official website.
  3. Buy ticket separately to the observation deck.

We used the 3rd option - we bought tickets only to the observation deck (by the way, the ticket includes a free drink, but more on that later).

1.2. Visiting Information

Ticket price: from 10.00 to 18.00 - 300 baht, after 18.00 - 400 baht.

Opening hours observation deck : 10.00-22.30 (Mon-Fri), 9.30-22.30 (Sat-Sun)

Baiyoke Sky Hotel Official Website(Bayoke Sky): http://baiyokesky.baiyokehotel.com

Baiyoke Sky Hotel is located here:

1.3. How to get there

Getting there is easy, there are the following options:

  • by city bus - very close to the stop, routes 13, 14, 17, 38, 54, 72, 73, 74, 77, 140, 183, 204, 514, 536
  • on - stop Pratunam (I came to this pier in and)
  • on ground metro directly from the airport - Ratchaprarop station
  • by taxi or tuktuk (just say Baiyoke Sky)

In general, the tower is easy to see from almost anywhere in the city center:

It starts to get dark, the backlight (a round rotating platform) is lit on the Bayok Sky observation deck:

The ideal option is when you managed to get to the first observation deck (on the 77th floor) before dark in order to have time to look at the daytime and night bangkok. Night, of course, is much more beautiful, but daytime views are better in the photo, there is no flare. So come by 5:30 pm.

We did not have time to go in until 18.00, so we paid by 400 baht and climbed to the observation deck after sunset.

2. Photo tour of the building

2.1. Ground floor and cash desks

First floor of Baiyoke Sky:

There was no queue at the box office at all, most likely, many people buy tickets in advance through agencies. We bought tickets, we were sent to a special elevator for tourists (the elevator is different for hotel guests).

There was a small queue for the elevator. We got along with a group of Chinese, so while we were driving, we listened to ah-sighs (for some reason, the Chinese always listen to guides very emotionally and gasp in unison for almost every phrase, very funny :). The elevator only goes up to the 77th floor. But I just wanted to get there first, and then to the very top.

We went into the elevator, which looked completely ordinary. But as soon as we went, literally after a few floors it turned out that this elevator was not quite ordinary, but panoramic. So one of the walls of the elevator was completely glass, and suddenly we had a stunning view of the city. It was so unexpected that even a little scary at first.

2.2. Museum on the 77th floor

So, we arrived at the 77th floor. On the floor there is a museum with various exhibits, against which you can take interesting photos.

A small copy of the hotel itself:

Golden masks:

Museum - an exposition of antiques (reminded, but somehow everything is too shabby):

You can even climb into a tuk-tuk:

2.3. Observation deck on the 77th floor

There is also an observation deck on this floor. Floor-to-ceiling windows all around the floor are all glass so the view is amazing. Very scary and at the same time breathtaking.

View of Bangkok at night from the 77th floor:

It’s a pity, because of the lights of the night city, the photos are illuminated:

After we had seen enough of the views from the 77th floor, it was time to climb higher. How nice it is to walk without excursion groups. All the groups were long gone and we enjoyed the views as much as we wanted.

They asked how to get to the 84th floor (namely, there is the highest observation deck, located on a spinning platform). It turns out that the elevator can only take you to the 83rd floor (it’s hard to get lost - there is only one button with the 83rd floor in the elevator), and then you need to climb one floor on foot.

From here we go already on foot, the door to the clouds:

It's so cool that it looks like you're going up into space! And then there's the alien and Spiderman!

2.4. Observation deck on the 84th floor

Welcome to the rotating platform on the roof:

The upper platform is open, that is, there is no glass and no roof, but there are gratings, and also strong wind. It seemed to me that it is much less scary there than on the 77th floor, because you are standing next to the side, and somehow everything seems more reliable.

Let's go to the platform:

The view is awesome, of course! It is a pity that it is not possible to take normal photos, because the platform is moving all the time.

Highways like arteries pierce the city:

Having made a full circle on the upper platform, we went back. You can only leave from there on the 77th floor. We looked there again, and then began to look for where you can get free drinks. It turned out that on the same 77th floor. And for some reason, a very small number of people go to this bar, perhaps they don’t know, no one specifically talks about it, we ourselves asked.

2.5. Bar on the 77th floor

You can choose any drink from the menu, there are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, teas, coffee, juices. I ordered a non-alcoholic pina colada, very tasty, by the way:

It was great to sit there on top with a cocktail. The view reminded me of Moscow at night from the 61st floor of Moscow City. Some nostalgia kicked in...

There was almost no one in the bar, except for us, just a couple of people and the attendants:

3. Results

That's how we got to this amazing place. I definitely recommend visiting, such a height, such views of the city at night - unforgettable impressions. Especially if you are afraid of heights, the spirit is simply breathtaking, the height is mesmerizing - although scary, you can’t take your eyes off.

(45 votes, rating: 5,00 out of 5)

I have long wanted to go to the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, the highest hotel in Bangkok, but everything was not on the way. On this visit, I decided to make special time to visit this place. Let for some a banal attraction, but I love views and heights. Almost always in major cities I visit high points, for example in Malaysia, or in Hong Kong.

Please note that there are 3 zones there: Standard (22-45 floors), Sky-Heavenly (46-63 floors) and Space-Space (64-74 floors), and prices differ depending on the zone. To see as much as possible from your window, you need to settle in the very top (Space). And the standard is better not to book at all, everything is not very good there.

The best way to get discounts on hotels in Thailand is through RoomGuru. Here is a direct link to you, be sure to check before booking if there is a discount for it anywhere else or not.

Observation deck on the 77th floor

So let's go up together? If you buy a ticket below, then immediately after entering the building there will be a special elevator leading only to the observation deck (the rest of the elevators to the 18th floor and to the rooms).

So, this elevator has a glass wall. And after some time after the ascent, you will see how you gain altitude. If you want to stand close to the glass, then immediately push through to the back wall of the elevator, it is she who is transparent.

The Observation Desk on the 77th floor is the first of the observation decks. It is closed and you can look at Bangkok only through glass stained with foreheads and fingers. However, this is not reflected in the photographs.

You can come here right before sunset and have time to take daytime and sunset photos. As soon as it gets dark, we climb higher.

Observation deck on the 84th floor

The second platform (Revolving Desk) is located on the 84th floor, turning around its axis. We climb it after the first one either by elevator or stairs. It is open and here you will hear the city noise and feel the warm wind, the immersion in height is more complete.

The first thought is, well, finally here you can shoot not through the window ... But it wasn’t there, because instead of them there is a grid partially covered with plexiglass. Night photos are just as hard to take from here, because the site is moving and there will still be blur, even with a tripod. And somewhere at 6 pm, a flashing backlight is lit.

Under the very roof there are several restaurants (Bangkok Balcony, Bangkok Sky, Stella Palace, Crystal Grill), which are loved by Russian tourists. However, in the hotel itself, it feels like some compatriots. Since I have not been to restaurants, I can not say anything about them.

If anything, then downstairs in the nearest shopping center (Fashion Mall) there is an ordinary Thai food court, where the prices are regular, not tourist ones. I indicated the food court on the map, it is located next to the famous Pantip Plaza, 10 minutes from Baiyoke to go.

Opening hours and ticket price

Opening hours: from 10:00 am to 02:00 am.

Ticket price: 400 baht. The price includes a drink at the Roof Top Bar on the 83rd floor.

But there is a hack. You can pay a little more and get a lot more. You need to buy a ticket not to the observation deck, but to the fruit buffet (buffet)! Tickets must be purchased online through Klook. A voucher will be sent to your email and then you need to show it at the entrance.

Entrance fee: 490 baht per adult and 250 baht per child up to 120 cm. Included in the price: unlimited drinks, thai fruit and visiting viewing platforms. This is more profitable, especially if you are hungry. The buffet is open from 10.30 to 20.30.

Klook has another option for the more hungry: Dinning Buffet. Also a buffet, but no longer fruity: Thai food, pizza, pasta, desserts. The cost is 575 baht per adult and 330 baht per child. Lookouts are included with the price. Quite. The only thing is that there is not a very large choice of time (there is lunch and dinner).

And there is also a restaurant on the 81st floor. For those who want to dine in a restaurant with a view, not just a snack and a lookout. Naturally, from the restaurant you can go to the viewing points.

How to get to Baiyoke Sky

The Baiyoke Sky Hotel is located next to the Ratchaprarop metro station, this is the City Line branch that comes from. That is, go in a straight line, 20-30 minutes, and then from the metro another 5-10 minutes on foot. It is not difficult to navigate, the hotel can be seen from almost all sides, it is also the highest.

You can also come from the side, on foot or from other metro lines. Alternatively, take a river bus along the klong, this is convenient if you get from the Khaosan Road area.

304 meters - this is the height of the tallest building in Thailand.

By the way, Baiyoke Sky Hotel has several restaurants, starting from the cozy Sky Coffee Shop and Fruit Buffet on the 18th floor, and ending with the inimitable Bangkok Balcony, Crystal Grill and The Roof Top Bar, which are located on floors 81-83 and have an amazing and unique view of the city of Bangkok. Almost all of them are open until 24 hours, although one restaurant closes at one in the morning - all this can also be clarified on the website of the highest hotel in Thailand.

However, the main attraction of the hotel is the observation deck (observatory point), and it was she who won our hearts - after all, we did not stop at the hotel itself, but walked around the site to our heart's content!

Baiyoke Sky observation deck on the 77th and 84th floors

They say that in good weather from the Baiyoke observation deck you can even see Gulf of Thailand, which is located 25 kilometers from Bangkok.

However, high humidity and smoke, which permanently wraps up the capital of Thailand, did not allow us to accurately identify the sea somewhere on the horizon. Although, perhaps, if you look closely at our photos, then the outlines of the sea surface in the distance are still guessed.

Baiyoke Sky half an hour before sunset - view from the observation deck to Bangkok

So, the Baiyoke Sky observation deck is really impressive. How to get to it?

First way: stay at a hotel paying at least one night, which will cost you at least 2100 baht. Each hotel guest has free access to the treasured viewpoints

Second way suitable even for those who do not want to stay in an expensive hotel. The Baiyoke Sky observation deck is open to everyone from the street, although you will have to pay 300 baht (from 10 to 18 hours) or 400 baht (from 18:00 to 22:30) to visit it. Payment is made on the 1st or 18th floor at special cash desks. There is also a currency exchange. Nobody controls the amount of time you spend on the viewing platform, so the smartest tourists flock to the Bayyok Hotel around 17:00 or a little later. In this case, you can visit the site for $ 10 both before sunset and after it. It is worth noting that it gets dark very sharply in the tropics, and the daytime and evening views of Bangkok "from the sky" are significantly different.

Third way: as I mentioned above, there are several restaurants in the hotel. For customers of restaurants, the entrance to the observation decks of the 77th and 84th floors is free. However, the minimum order will cost you a little more than a regular ticket to the observation deck. There is clearly a logic to this, but this option may be the most interesting and profitable, depending on the current offers of restaurants, your plans for the evening and other circumstances.

How to get to Bayyok observation deck on the 77th floor?

The hotel has a special elevator that takes tourists clearly to the "Observation deck" (literally: "observation deck"). The great news is that this elevator has a completely transparent wall. If you have time to take a seat in the very depths of the elevator, then you will be lucky enough to see how the glass capsule of the elevator is gradually gaining height, and the view from the "window" is changing before your eyes. However, the elevator will take you to the floor marked "77" quite quickly, so make sure to capture these moments.

The 77th floor Baiyoke site is enclosed space. Apart from beautiful view here you can find stationary binoculars, information stands about the most high building Thailand, comic sites for photos, museum exhibits and all sorts of small chips. For example, on one of the tables we found a seal depicting the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. They didn’t come up with anything more original than putting a stamp on a 20 baht bill. Now we have a special banknote in our collection with the image highest skyscraper Thailand. :))))

Knock knock - one of the exhibits on the 77th floor)))

There is a small cafeteria at the end of a corridor that runs along a long window overlooking the city. Here, those who wish can arrange a snack for themselves or exchange the tear-off coupon of their entrance ticket for a free cocktail, juice or beer.

How do I get to the Baiyoke Sky revolving observation deck on the 84th floor?

After you have refreshed yourself with juice or a shake, you can proceed to the final part of the adventure on a skyscraper. A special elevator will take you to one of the last floors. Then you have to walk quite a bit on the stairs (so that the conquest of the peak seems more deserved). In the end, you will undoubtedly end up on a revolving observation deck (“revolving view point"). Polite hotel staff and signs in English and even in Russian will not let you get lost.

Please note that smoking on the rotating observation deck is strictly prohibited, and this is monitored by security (a large fine is provided). And this is good, because there are a lot of people there, everyone wants to breathe, and there is nowhere to put cigarette butts. According to my observations, many compatriots tried to smoke, having made a "difficult and long" way on two elevators from the 1st to the 84th floor. However, you should not do this - if anything, I warned you. 🙂

The spinning deck is a very windy place. This is facilitated by a height of 304 meters and a fairly fast rotation of the site. Nevertheless, we did not manage to freeze in the 40-degree heat at the top of the Bayyok Hotel. On the contrary, it was very comfortable and fresh!

84th floor - revolving view point Baiyoke Hotel Sky

Despite all the splendor of the idea with rotation, photographing the city from a moving observation deck is not very convenient. Of course, you can get regular shots, but putting up a tripod, using a slow shutter speed for a night photo - this will already be unrealistic, because the whole picture will simply be smeared in motion at a slow shutter speed.

Another drawback of the observation deck on the 84th floor is the presence of plastic protection around the perimeter of the building. Photographing the city through scratched plastic is not very cool. Although small slots for the camera and hands can be found, so this problem is, in principle, solvable. The main thing is that it is absolutely impossible to accidentally fall out of this site - and this is important. Many people come here with their children - people of all ages like the place!

sky-bayoke- night view from the rotating observation deck on the 84th floor

At nightfall, the observation deck light show is also turned on, which probably looks cool from below, but from above it only interferes and lightens the footage a little.

Having seen enough of Bangkok from a bird's eye view, we returned to the 77th floor, where we found new ideas for photos. 🙂

Having gone down, we were incredibly surprised that a whole crowd of people who wanted to buy tickets to the observation deck had gathered at the entrance. When we bought tickets an hour and a half before, there was no queue at all! I believe that due to the greater flow of people after sunset, the cost of a night visit to the revolving observation deck increases by 100 baht. Although what is an extra hundred baht for tourists, many of whom may never return to Bangkok.

I also recommend watching the largest panoramic photo of Bangkok taken by a professional photographer from the Baiyoke Sky observation deck. It looks fascinating, plus the author signed the objects that are visible from the rotating platform of the 84th floor. It's really impressive!

MahaNakhon

In 2015 in Bangkok, a new tallest building in Thailand with an extraordinary "pixel" design should appear. The height of the MahaNakhon building currently under construction will be 314 meters, and according to the project, it will house shopping mall, a hotel and perhaps the most expensive apartments in Bangkok at a price of 1 to 11 million dollars! Since June 20, 2011, the Mahanakhon skyscraper in Bangkok has already been built, so the tower will not be long Baiyoke Tower II to be in the lead in Tai! 🙂

Ocean 1 Tower in Pattaya

By 2016 in Pattaya (distance from Bangkok to Pattaya is 156 km) a 367-meter residential building is planned to be erected in the Jomtien Beach area. It is assumed that by the time Ocean 1 Tower is built in Pattaya, not only will it become the tallest building in Thailand, but it can also become the tallest fully residential building in the world.

However, in Dubai and Panama, there are also two fully residential developments in the planning stages that will have over 100 floors, so they will also qualify for this honorary title. Whether the Ocean 1 Tower will have time to become the tallest residential building on the planet depends largely on the builders in Panama and the UAE. At the same time, the Ocean 1 Tower Pattaya project is at the stage of adjusting the calculations of seismic safety and wind resistance. Oh, it's not an easy job to design skyscrapers!
