The best ski resorts for beginners. Sports complex Snezh.com. Sports and entertainment park "Yakhroma"

The largest and most famous ski resort in Norway. Like a giant seine, it stretches on three slopes of the volcano-like mountain Trysilfjellet (literally, Mount Trysil). Such an arrangement of slopes can be considered a clear advantage, because regardless of the level of skiing of each of the members of your company, you can all use the same lifts. Routes of varying difficulty, although they scatter at first in different forest paths, but are laid parallel to each other, so that they eventually connect at the bottom of the armchair. Such a device of the resort makes it easy to reach not only the slopes, but also any restaurant, bar or hotel. Of the many activities that are not related to skiing or snowboarding, the most curious is the “Star Hunt”, which is organized at night by a local enthusiastic astronomer. Armed with a laser pointer, he conducts a real walk through the Milky Way for romantics. If you're lucky, you can also see the northern lights in the sky.

Val d'Isère, Espace Killy, France

In the idyllic Savoyard village of Val d'Isère, it's easy to fall in love with skiing forever, but also bypass the trendy restaurants (don't miss the brand new Le Solstice at the Le Yule chalet with a separate dessert room, Japanese dinners at La Mourra and the fun, always crowded La Baraque). If you are traveling with a group, pay attention to the apartments in the newly opened Chalet Skadi with a spa and a swimming pool. It is worth starting training from the simple green trails of Le Village, which are located almost in the village at the foot of the mountain. Then you can feel like a hero and climb to a height of 2827 meters on the Rocher de Bellevarde - several longest green trails descend from here. It is possible that you will be taken to the famous high-altitude bar La Folie Douce, where après-ski begins after lunch: dancers in feathers dance on the roof, and riders from all nearby slopes come to the thundering music. Next to the ski lifts there is a giant water park. On a sunny day, you can ride a dog sled - the route runs through a deserted reserved valley.

GTZ "Gazprom" - perhaps the best resort in Russia, where you can drive your first meters on skis. There are comfortable training tracks here: you need to start on the green C and E on the Psekhako plateau, then switch to the blue D. The second option is the green track I at the Fir Shelter (by the way, there is a restaurant with the most delicious food Khmeli Ice Suneli). In both places there are children's slopes, rentals and the service of instructors from the only official school. There are many well-prepared blue slopes at Gazprom, but on holidays and weekends there may be queues to climb due to the low price of a ski pass. There is where to drive and advanced skiers. The night skiing area is the largest in Krasnaya Polyana. Among the minuses is that in warm weather due to low location The snow melts faster in the resort than on the neighboring mountains. Then you can ride a husky sled, jump on a trampoline, visit the spa or entertainment center "Galaktika" with a bowling alley and a water park.

Sölden, Ötztal, Austria

A small town in a traditional Tyrolean style stretches along mountain river, the banks of which are completely built up with hotels and private apartments. And from its two outskirts, two gondola lifts start, lifting to what the local travel agency proudly calls "our ten-thousander". These are three three-thousander peaks connected by a system of tracks, tunnels and lifts into a single 50-kilometer Big 3 Rally route. Ski routes and slopes adjacent to the city are good for beginners (who will be helped to become aces by six ski schools). Thanks to the heights, the season in Sölden starts already when autumn fairs are still taking place in the neighboring valleys, and ends when apple trees are already blooming around the lower lift stations. The town is loved not only for skiing, but also for après-ski. There are more than 20 mountain restaurants here, and in the town itself, entertainment establishments are found on every corner.

Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Italy

Photo: Vitas Cerniauskas

The Dolomiti Superski ski region, to which Val Gardena belongs, is the largest in the world. With a single ski pass, you can ride in 12 Italian resorts, which in general gives as many as 1220 kilometers of slopes. Beginners do not need so much yet, but the opportunity itself cannot but rejoice. Moreover, the main ski stations located along the perimeter of the so-called ski carousel allow you to go around the entire Sella Ronda rock massif in a day. Skiing in the region as a whole is not difficult: there are many gentle slopes, and red and black slopes, as a rule, are duplicated in blue, so even skiers of different levels can ride together. Sunny weather, panoramas of the Dolomites and Italian cuisine, which everyone without exception, speaks in favor of diverse companies and family holidays. By evening, South Tyrol ceases to pretend to be Italy and recalls its Austrian roots: après-ski booths open with lively music, a sea of beer and schnapps. There are especially many of them in Selva, Santa Cristina is more quiet place which is suitable for families.

Cable cars connect this resort with the International Descent, the total length of which is 360 kilometers.
We have to admit that Cervinia is far from the most beautiful Italian resort: there are often ugly buildings that spoil the whole view. However, this place has no equal when it comes to sports entertainment. Numerous races of skiers and snowboarders of different skill levels are constantly held here. Sometimes it seems that they ride here without stopping for lunch and sleep. In Cervinia, there is the famous red descent Ventina (Ventina) with a height of 4000 meters.

Cortina d'Ampezzo for romantics

The city of Cortina d'Ampezzo lies surrounded by mountains and on one of them, as well as in a chain of churches built many centuries ago. Despite being occupied for centuries by foreign invaders, including the Austrians and Americans in 1945, the city has managed to maintain its unique atmosphere that reigns here to this day in every corner. While the inhabitants of neighboring towns speak German as well, the people of Cortina prefer to communicate in the ancient Ladin language.

In Cortina you will find many slopes for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. All of them are divided into several zones, between which the bus runs. In the village itself, despite the fact that it is the center of the resort, all life does not revolve around mountains, snow, skis and snowboards. The main pedestrian street Corso Italia is home to numerous fashion designer boutiques and antique shops.

As dusk falls, Cortina comes to life. On the streets of the city, there is almost a real parade of fur coats and other fur products, and closer to the night, all the owners of warm clothes move to nearby bars and restaurants, where they discuss the day over a glass of fine wine.
In 1956, Cortina hosted the Winter Olympic Games, so there is no doubt about the quality of the slopes and equipment. However, in recent years, the resort authorities do not deny the fact that Cortina's funding has dropped significantly. But this does not bother the inhabitants of Rome and Milan, who invariably go skiing here.

Sauze d'Oulx for party goers

Since the beginning of the 1970-80s of the last century (Sauze d'Oulx) has had the glory of a ski resort, where parties play a greater role than sports. Until noon in this district you would not meet a single soul on the downhill slopes. The charming village has gone through several global changes, but, fortunately, has not lost its special "party" atmosphere. In the city center, houses of the last century were pushed aside by modern buildings in the Art Nouveau style. It is here that the life of Sauze d'Houl is in full swing. The more you move away from central streets the tighter the silence envelops you.

But despite all this, the Sauze d'Ouls boasts some of the best slopes in Italy. They extend all the way to the resorts of Sansicario, Sestriere and French Montgenevre. The total length of the slopes is about 400 kilometers, which are served by 66 lifts.
At the intersection of these numerous slopes, there is a whole scattering of restaurants, hotels and other entertainment establishments. To dine here you do not need to have a fortune - the prices in this area are very democratic. Many bars often have live music, so you can enjoy a glass of wine and stunning scenery outside the window to the sounds of light jazz.
Where to stay
It is worth noting that most of the hotels in Sauze d'Oulse do not deserve special attention, but it is still worth highlighting the three-star Chalet Faure & Spa hotel - an old house, converted into an excellent hotel with a spa and its own wine bar. Champoluc for holidays with family and children

mountain range Monterosa is not as popular as it deserves. The lovely village (Champoluc) has a typical Italian atmosphere: stunning landscapes, cozy bars and cafes, no queues either in shops or on the road. What's more, there is a wonderful English skiing school where the instructors speak several languages. These are highly qualified specialists from Italy and England, ready to train everyone from young (from 4 years old) to old.

A special advantage of this resort is the babysitting service. As a rule, Italians go on vacation with the whole family, leaving not only children, but also their parents at home, so there is always someone to look after the younger generation. However, if you decide to relax only with children and give your parents the opportunity to take a break from you in their homeland, then you definitely should take care of the leisure of your kids. And the Italian ski school Scuola Sci Champoluc will do it for you.

Where to stay
Four star hotel Relais des Glaciers boasts an excellent spa and a great location, just a seven minute walk from the village's main square. Friendly service staff will be happy to help you, as well as tasty food for you and your children. A week of rest here will cost you about 1000 euros.
Other options
Gressoney and Selva also provide babysitting service

  • The height of the slopes is from 1200 to 3275 meters;
  • The slopes are 73 kilometers long, 17% blue, 72% red, 11% black;
  • Snow coverage 97%.

Livigno for lovers of silence

(Livigno) is one of the most remote ski resorts in Europe. The road here from Innsbruck at best will be three hours. And it's not even about Italian airports located even further away. However, the long trip to Livigno is worth it because of the well-equipped pistes, low prices and safe snow cover.
The village is located 10 kilometers from a mountain road that ends at the foot of a 1816-meter mountain called Little Tibet, located near the border with Switzerland. Numerous slopes originate here, from which stunning views open up. Every year, new lifts and slopes appear in Livigno, new hotels open. To date, trails of medium difficulty prevail here.
It is also worth noting that in December Livigno hosts a traditional ski marathon (35 kilometers).
In addition to the numerous advantages of this resort, it is worth highlighting the fact that it is duty free. It seems that prices have frozen at the level of the Napoleonic times. Often a bottle of milk is harder to find here than a case of whiskey.

Courmayeur for the weekend

Of course, when choosing a resort where you could drop by for the weekend, it is of great importance that there is an airport nearby, from where you can easily and quickly get there. (Courmayeur) is a two hour drive from and from Geneva. This original mountain village is located right on the slopes of Mont Blanc.

As a rule, Italians flock to Courmayeur in the late afternoon of Friday. They leisurely walk along the pedestrian street Via Roma (Via Roma), where a huge number of designer boutiques and cozy cocktail bars are located. Contrary to the general trend, in the morning on the slopes you can meet not so many who want to ride: everyone sleeps off after a great Friday and Saturday evening.
Where to stay
The three-star Bouton d’Or provides its customers with spacious rooms, a large parking lot, and also boasts a good location: there are a lot of restaurants near the hotel for every taste. The cost for a week of living in this place is about 840 euros.
Other options
The lively cities of Sauze d'Olux and nearby Sestriere will not deceive you: the service-location-price ratio is more than optimal.
Key Facts
  • The resort is located at an altitude of 1225 meters;
  • The height of the slopes is from 1210 to 2755 meters;
  • The slopes are 36 kilometers long, 27% blue, 59% red, 14% black;
  • Snow coverage 70%.
  • We are in love with Italy from the first time and for life. Happy to share useful tips and notes about the most beautiful country in the world. We invite you to our author's excursions in Rome, Naples, Florence, Venice, Parma, Milan, Tuscany, as well as in Sicily and Sardinia.

Agree, it is a pity to spend precious time in the mountains learning the first skills of skiing or snowboarding! Of course, it is very beautiful in the mountains, you are on vacation, but it is better to master the simplest movements in advance. And just spending time on the slope in the evening or on weekends is also cool. Therefore, we will tell you where this can be done in Moscow or not far from it.

Within the Moscow Ring Road there are several slopes equipped with lifts. Of course, first of all, it makes sense to go to the slope closest to the house: you will spend a minimum of time on the road, and if it’s good there, then why not spend time there?

During its existence, "Volen" has experienced periods of ups and downs. Soon after its opening, competitors appeared around with a high level of offers and quality of slopes. And although Volen lags behind its neighbors in terms of the length of the slopes, which does not exceed 400 meters, the park management manages to find new solutions to attract skiers and snowboarders to its slopes. This subsidiary project of the Volen park was opened near the village of Stepanovo in 2000. The natural slope with a roll-out to the Volgusha River was raised even more, adding imported soil. The result was a slope 1 kilometer long and a height difference of 110 meters. This figure is the highest in the Moscow region. Stepanovskiye slopes are most loved by snowboarders.

On the main slope there is a track with several steep drop-offs 900 meters long and a drop of 110 meters, and the second, simpler one, 850 meters long, runs along the cable car. The slopes are serviced by three chair lifts. One of them, a domestic double-seat, is rather old and very slow. The other two are more modern and faster. Two lifts also serve the opposite slope on the other side of the river near the village of Strekovo. It is noticeably shorter and more flattering. This slope is most suitable for beginners. They usually descend along it from the village of Strekovo, where you can drive up to Stepanovo by car.

All trails are illuminated with spotlights and equipped with snow cannons. The lifts are open late. Under the cover of tall fir trees, snow here stays better and longer than that of its neighbors. Fans of skiing, snowboarding and secluded slopes often prefer Stepanovo to other, more crowded resorts. It is quiet here and there are relatively few people on the slope, which allows you to feel closer to nature and makes it possible to forget about the bustle of the city.

There is a two-story building near the top lift station, which houses changing rooms, rental, ski service, luggage storage, and a toilet.

High-speed Austrian lifts, even when the slope is fully loaded, do not allow queues to form. The slope with a width of 60 meters allows several hundred skiers and snowboarders to ski at the same time. The total capacity of the complex, including changing rooms, rentals and cafes, is 800 people.

Ski resorts for beginners
Which ski resorts in the Alps are good for beginner skiers? This question is often asked by travel agencies. But not always tourists get an exhaustive answer to it. The criteria for this are called the most different. But, in our opinion, ski resorts for beginners can only be those where the atmosphere is the most cheerful and incendiary, where there are comfortable hotels and there is something to see. And most importantly: these resorts should have good ski schools and many other beginner skiers, so that ski resorts for beginners are not really a "teapot" when there are only advanced "pros" around.
We have selected for beginners the most cozy and charming ski resorts in the Alps - for an unforgettable holiday this winter. Having visited one of these resorts, novice skiers will definitely become avid fans of winter sports.

The suites are full of details from some other time - fireplaces, carved backs of chairs, but at the same time there are all modern conveniences - flat-screen TVs, heated floors, tiled bathrooms. For impressive views of the surrounding area at a more affordable price, try the Sunstar Grindelwald (Double from $250), where the room decor is simple yet pleasant.
