The beaches of Nusa Dua, Bali: reviews of tourists. Looking for deals in Nusa Dua

Hello my readers. I want to tell you about my favorite Nusa Dua.

It is considered the most expensive on the entire island.

The area is fenced with security at the entrance. Every car is checked. But what I like about the Balinese is that the guards will always apologize to tourists and drivers for causing trouble and inconvenience.

On the coast there are hotels with a category of 5, 4 stars. Certainly the most expensive on the entire coast of Bali.

How to get from the airport.

You can get from the airport to the Nusa Dua area by Uber taxi. The cost is about 70,000-80,000 rupees (5 - 7 $). But Uber has only recently been on the island and so sometimes the system fails. In addition, drivers sometimes cannot determine where to pick up a client. They refer to the taxi service, which does not give a clear picture of where to wait for the client.

Keep in mind that sometimes the driver asks to pay him for parking time, about 4,000 - 10,000 rupees.

If you hail a taxi on your own, drivers start at 200,000 rupees (about $15), but feel free to bargain and drop to 100,000-120,000 rupees ($7-8).

All hotels have a meeting service at the airport. Then the cost will be 260,000 - 300,000 rupees (25 - 30 $).

Beach.

When we were going to Bali for the first time in 2012, we read a lot of reviews that the island was not intended for a beach holiday.

Bali is wonderful. And I prefer the coast of Nusa Dua, for the beautiful, always clean beach, turquoise color of water and calm wave.

The beach at Nusa Dua Beach & Spa

This place is ideal for families with children. Good entry into the sea, warm water +32 and soft sand, what else is needed for children's recreation.

The water is clean and transparent, if you swim a little from the shore with a mask and snorkel, you can watch the fish. Pretty good snorkelling.

My kids didn't get out of the water. To lure them to the shore it was necessary to try very hard. The elder disappeared with a mask, and the younger splashed along the shore.
Somewhere the water at low tide goes very far. But it is worth going a little to the side, as you can safely swim.

The beach at the Novotel hotel. You can always swim here.

On the beach, which belongs to the Novotel, you can always swim. Indeed, there is a strong current. But again, everything is decided by walking towards the Ayodya hotel.

The water is clean and transparent, water t +32. Children cannot be taken out of the water.

All hotels have their own sunbeds. Security guards keep order on the beach.

Each hotel has its own sunbeds. The trees provide natural shade. Security on the beach keeps order.

In 2018, we stopped on the coast of Jimbaran, and when we came to sunbathe on Nusa Dua beach, we were faced with the fact that the security really makes sure that the sunbeds are occupied only by hotel guests. Sincerely surprised when we offered to pay for the sunbeds.

We managed to do this only at the INAYA Putri Bali Resort. The cost of 2 sunbeds was 100,000 rupees (about $ 7-8) for the whole day.

Pure sand Nusa Dua

The bay where the hotel is located in 2012 (visited the island for the first time) was a quiet place. Now (2018) the beach is quite noisy, the Balinese organized scooter rides. They park right next to the hotel. The constant noise of the motor interferes with vacationers.

Beach sellers are not too intrusive with all sorts of nonsense. You can buy tours from them.

Masseuses hide and operate mainly in the beach area of the Ayoda Hotel. The massage is not even bad. We did almost every day. Women try their best.

Nusa Dua beach is long. An asphalt path runs between the hotels and the beach. It's very nice to take a walk in the evening.

It is very comfortable to walk along the asphalt path along the beach. You can also rent a bike.

Also along this path you will quickly reach the Bali Collection shopping center.

You can find anything in the mall.

Get from the hotel closest to the coast, or take the bus to the hotel reception, which will take you to the shops for free. You can return, the same on it.
There are shops with clothes, souvenirs, currency exchange offices, supermarkets, and of course cafes and restaurants.

In the territory retail space, a huge number of cafes and restaurants.

Shops with branded clothing (mostly sportswear) are not the cheapest.
In Bali Collection, sit down the SOGO chain of stores. In addition to branded brands, it presents brands of local designers. Sometimes very worthwhile and at an affordable price.

A large number of branded silk scarves, very beautiful. They will be a wonderful souvenir for any fashionista. I bought this scarf in 2012, still like new.

There is a department of toys, shoes, bags, jewelry and wooden souvenirs.

You can buy designer items at the lowest cost. Maybe someone will appreciate this thing))))

Cafes and restaurants offer exchanges from different countries, for any budget. Almost all establishments have a menu in Russian. In the evening, musicians play live music.

A sign for one of the cafes. we passed by this sucking pig. But who dares to experiment? Write in the comments, would you try this dish?

Entertainment.

People come to Nusa Dua to relax and there is not much entertainment here. Fans of active night parties and hangouts need to go to Kuta.

Eat . This theater performance takes place on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Ticket price starts from 500,000 rupees per adult, from 260,000 rupees per child. The price depends on the place in the hall.

Tickets can be bought on the official website, at the hotel and from distributors.

If you buy tickets at the hotel, then a free shuttle will take you there and back.

We attended this event. It is unreasonably expensive. I can’t say that I really liked it, and even more so they didn’t squeal with delight. If you are planning to visit a safari park, then I advise you not to even waste your money and time on Devdan, because this is just a pathetic semblance of Agung Show in Safari Park.

Located luxury resort Nusa Dua. This place is mainly focused on wealthy people, and you can also have a very good family vacation here. The resort is very popular among tourists, because here are the most beautiful beaches and in some places you can even see volcanic sand. Previously, this place was famous for the fact that there was nothing but mangrove swamps here, but now tourists can relax in the most luxurious hotels and enjoy sparsely populated beaches.

How to get there?

You can get to the fashionable resort by flying to the airport of the capital (Ngurah Rai), Nusa Dua is located 12 km from this city. It will be possible to take a taxi at the airport, if the roads are not crowded, the travel time will take no more than 25 minutes. It is best to take a taxi at the airport, and not look for it on the street. On the 1st floor, in the arrivals area, there is a special desk through which you can order a car. The trip will cost 125,000 rupees. You should prepare money in advance, because taxi drivers do not give change.

More budget option counted as a flight to . From there, you can get to Nusa Dua not only by taxi, but also by bus. Transport will follow from the Batubulan stop, the name of the resort should be written on it. The fare will cost only 3,500 rupees, although you will have to walk from the airport to the bus stop, such walking tour will take about 15 minutes.

Climate

Due to its proximity to the equator, the weather here is very favorable for recreation. Even at the very cold month the air temperature does not fall below +26 degrees. The water temperature fluctuates between +26-29 degrees.

The rainy season starts in November and ends in March. During this period, there are as many vacationers as at any other time. There are very few rainy days here, the humidity of the air during this period reaches 80%. Precipitation mainly falls early in the morning or evening, so it does not cause inconvenience.

Resort Information

For the first time, the island authorities decided to make a resort on this site in 1970. They wanted to create a closed tourist zone. To do this, all the mangrove swamps were dried up and the fishing villages that used to be in the southeastern part of the resort were closed. Over time, the place became suitable for recreation, and then the entire population was relocated to other places so that the resort was exclusively for tourists.

The idea of building such a resort turned out to be very successful. Now there are a lot of five-star hotels, beautiful lawns, smooth roads and absolutely no garbage. The authorities also made sure that nothing on the territory of the resort overshadowed the rest of tourists. That is, there are no stray animals, homeless people, street vendors and small stalls with goods of dubious quality. However, the cost of such a luxurious life in an ideal place for relaxation is quite high.

Here you can enjoy spacious and clean beaches (Pantai Geger), engage in water sports, relax in the best hotels on the island, visit restaurants and massage parlors. In addition, there are absolutely no traffic jams in the resort. You can get here only if you go through 1 of 3 entrances, each of them has guards at the post and carefully checks some personalities. Basically, security only inspects local residents by car, so that an illegal trader could not enter the territory of Nusa Dua. Tourists are rarely checked by security, law enforcement agencies pay attention to foreigners only if they look suspicious.

It is recommended to visit this resort for everyone who wants to relax on the beach in peace and quiet. The place is also good for a romantic getaway. Also here very often come with children. There are practically no waves here, so you don’t have to worry about the children while swimming.

It is also worth noting that there are no nightly entertainment on the island. If you want to visit a nightclub, then you can take a taxi to the Kuta resort, the travel time will take no more than 40 minutes.

Nusa Dua beaches

most popular and fabulous place considered Pantai Nusa Dua. There is fine sand, clear water and extremely rare waves. At the service of tourists here are provided fishing rods, volleyballs and soccer balls, bicycles and paths designed for riding and running. You can also rent a jet ski here. Compared to other resorts in Bali, there are very few vacationers here, especially in the morning and evening.

Another notable place is considered. This beach is best suited for families with children, since reefs are located 600 meters from the land, which prevent the appearance of waves. Also on Geger beach there is very soft and fine sand, the water is always clean, even at low tide you can safely swim and not experience discomfort. Near the beach there are several traditional eateries where you can drink freshly squeezed juice or beer, as well as eat seafood.

Pantai Geger beach

It is worth noting that the large beach of Geger is the property of the Nikko Bali hotel, so some sunbeds can be reserved. From entertainment on the beach, rental equipment for snorkeling and jet skis.

What to do at the resort?

In Nusa Dua, there is a very impressive spectacle - Devdan Show. The performance demonstrates to the audience how diverse the culture of the Indonesian people is and how it changes in different parts of the country. All shows take place on a specially built stage. Actors use smoke, fog, fiery special effects and even rain to impress tourists. You can watch aerial acrobatics, traditional dances and costumes. The performance takes place at 19:00 at Bali's Nusa Dua Theater and lasts an hour and a half.

Art lovers should definitely visit the Pacifica Museum. Here are paintings by the most famous Balinese artists. Basically, the creations of those individuals who began to consider this island as their home are shown here. Through painting, you can understand how beautiful and unique this place is. The museum features more than 500 works, mainly illustrating the life of Indonesians and landscapes. In the museum, you can use the services of a specialist who will tell you about the artists and explain the meaning of the works.

Near Nusa Dua is the island of Serangan, you can reach it by boat. This place is notable for the fact that there is a nursery of turtles. You will be able to see the largest and smallest individuals, watch how the turtles hatch and release them into the sea on your own. In the nursery you can also see bats, snakes, birds and reptiles.

There are no bright sights in Nusa Dua, this place is designed for a beach holiday. However, here it is very popular tour Bali Essential Tours, it involves a trip in an off-road vehicle with a driver-guide who will show you all the most Amazing places in the resort and its surroundings. The driver knows several languages and is fluent in English, so there should be no misunderstanding. During the tour you will be able to visit the local village, see the most picturesque places and beautiful beaches. Nusa Dua is recognized as the best place in Indonesia for a beach holiday, if you need peace and comfort that you are willing to pay for, then this resort is the best place to stay.

Nusa Dua is a man-made paradise.

You will not meet any "outsiders" here, the resort has a strict access control. Nusa Dua is ideal for couples who are not attracted to noisy parties. Fine golden sand, mowed lawns, clear sea, excellent service and, most importantly, no annoying souvenir merchants. Here you can go surfing or try yourself as a diver.

Weather

The climatic characteristic of Nusa Dua corresponds to the subequatorial belt, but some differences from the general weather conditions still exist throughout the country. At the resort more aggressive temperature regime– throughout the year, the air temperature rarely drops below +25 °C. A strict division into seasons also regulates the tourist flow - with the onset of the rainy season, the risk of hurricanes and tsunamis increases, so many hotels prefer to go on vacation.

From May to September inclusive, Nusa Dua has a dry season, rainfall rarely exceeds 60 mm per month, mostly raining at night and in the early morning. The average thermometer in these months will be +26 °C.

Beaches

The beaches on Nusa Dua are famous for their cleanliness and safety.

Swimming is a pleasure, but do not forget about the ebb and flow, so characteristic of Bali. Usually hotels post a special timetable that will help you understand when you can go swimming. Most famous beach— Pantai Nusa Dua. It cannot be said that there are few vacationers here, but in the morning and in the evening you can enjoy the silence. The beach offers a variety of entertainment: football, volleyball, fishing, surfing - all at your service. There is, however, one small minus - at high tide, a large amount of garbage is washed ashore, but it is quickly removed by local workers, so this will not affect you. Beaches and towels are freely available.

The second famous beach of the resort is Pantai Geger. Reefs protect it from strong waves, so the water here is crystal clear, transparent, the sand is fine and white. Sun loungers and towels can be rented, all water activities are at bargain prices. Snorkeling is especially popular.

Things to do

Nusa Dua is popular for off-road trips.

You will be shown temples, local villages, large rice terraces; private drivers act as guides.

We advise extreme-seekers to go down the Pakerisan River on a tube (this is an inflatable “pill” with handles). A similar descent can be made along another river - the Siap. Such water adventures will introduce you to the nature of the island and its inhabitants - colorful birds and curious monkeys.

Also on Nusa Dua there is an excellent diving center Bali Scuba Masters. They will not only show excellent diving sites, but also offer other types of water activities: fishing, parasailing or riding a motorcycle.

Nusa Dua is not a paradise for surfers because the waves are not very big here, but the surfpots are open from November to March.

Infrastructure

There are no hotels below 4* on Nusa Dua. Only luxury apartments and the best staff. All hotels are real works of art.

The Nikko Bali Resort & Spa 5 * hotel has the best location: on the mountain, so the ocean view is amazing. Four interconnected pools, a wonderful beach and barely noticeable low tides. For vacationers with children, there is a special club for the "Jungle", where kids can play and jump on a trampoline. Nikko Bali Resort & Spa has one of the best Japanese restaurants and is definitely worth a visit.

Ayodya Resort Bali 5 * - an exotic hotel surrounded by a tropical garden. Spa, fitness center, volleyball court and playroom for children. There are several wonderful restaurants serving Italian, Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine.

Those who are not limited in funds should visit the Kayuputi restaurant (translated from Indonesian as “white wood”). The cuisine here is varied: you can try local, or you can international. You will have lunch or dinner outdoors, in the gazebos. Prices bite, but the quality of food and the level of service are captivating.

You can have a bite to eat at Secret Cafe, where a friendly, light atmosphere reigns. They serve juicy burgers, delicious sandwiches and light refreshing smoothies.

How to get there

Nusa Dua is located 10 kilometers from International Airport Ngurah Rai. Upon arrival, you can immediately rent a car at the airport, the journey will take approximately 20 minutes. Or make an advance payment for a taxi at a special counter, which will not cost much more than a private taxi driver, but at least you will not be taken on long-distance circuit routes and take extra money for it. If you've booked a hotel, the property will almost certainly take care of picking you up from the airport.

Minibuses (bemo) run from here to Kuta and Denpasar, but very rarely, and the schedule is unstable. Most vacationers hail a taxi or rent a car to travel around the island.

Transport

The only form of public transport in the Nusa Dua area is minibuses. They are forbidden to pass through the main gates of the resort, so to get from them to the beaches and hotels, you will have to walk 1-2 km or take a taxi. Minibuses run along the coast of Tanjung Benoa every half hour, and free shuttles run between Nusa Dua hotels and the Galleria shopping center daily from 08:00 to 23:00.

Nusa Dua is a purpose-built and rather "sterile" tourist area on the southeastern side of the Bukit Peninsula (the southern tip of Bali). Formerly a mangrove swamp area, today it is built up with luxury resorts and isolated from the towns and villages of Bali.

Short description

The history of Nusa Dua dates back to the early 1970s. The idea was to create a closed tourist area which would limit the impact of tourism on the traditional way of life local population. To do this, a barren area of mangrove swamps and fishing villages on the southeastern outskirts of the Bukit Peninsula was turned into a tourist area closed to the local population.

In many ways, the idea turned out to be successful: Nusa Dua has five-star hotels, neatly trimmed lawns, footpaths without potholes and potholes, smooth roads with curbs and drainage systems. At the same time, there are no traveling vendors and roadside stalls, traditional cafes in the style of "warung", but all services, as a rule, are very expensive. In general, the only thing that vaguely reminds here of Bali and Indonesia are taxi drivers with their eternally “idle” counters.

Tanjung Benoa is located on a long and thin sandy spit 2 km north of Nusa Dua. Tanjung Benoa is known for its good beach and is considered the center of water activities in Bali, such as water skiing, banana boat, parasailing. Here is the Benoa Harbour, from where depart to the nearby islands. Tanjung Benoa is not the most interesting part of Bali, but its village and warung eateries will give you an idea of what this island is all about.

This article covers the whole area of Nusa Dua plus the village of Tanjung Benoa.

Nusa Dua is located 10 kilometers from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Upon arrival, you can immediately rent a car at the airport, the journey will take approximately 20 minutes. Or make a prepayment for a taxi at a special counter at the airport, the cost is not much more expensive than a private taxi driver, but at least you will not be taken on long-distance circuit routes and charged extra money for it. Nusa Dua beaches

Pantai Nusa Dua(Pantai Nusa Dua). Compared to Kuta, Nusa Dua beach is just fabulous. The sand is soft, fine and without the garbage so familiar to Bali, the waves are small, swimming is safe, the water is clean, ideal for swimming, especially for children. It offers jogging and cycling paths, football, beach volleyball, good places for fishing and even surfing, tourists are offered trips on jet skis. If you are looking for a good beach and without huge crowds of tourists, Nusa Dua is perfect for this purpose. It is impossible to say that the beach is completely quiet, there are also many bathers and lovers to soak up the sun, but in the morning and evening it is quite quiet here, and the number of tourists during the day is significantly less compared to Kuta. At high tide, the sea brings with it a lot of garbage, but when the water decreases, the garbage is immediately removed by the workers of neighboring resort complexes. There are street vendors here, but they are few and need to get a license to work. So, if you are approached to buy a sarong, a kite or something else, this rarely happens here and the merchants are respectful of vacationers (in case of complaints, lose their license).

Pantai Geger(Pantai Geger). Pantai Geger is considered one of the best beaches in Bali. By its nature, the beach is significantly different from the "sterile atmosphere" of the Nusa Dua resort area. There are not a lot of hawkers and merchants that are typical for other Bali beaches. The beach is quite safe for swimming due to a ridge of reefs at a distance of about 600 m from the coast, protecting the coast from strong waves. So take your kids with you, the water is still and the beach is considered safe for swimming. Soft sand beach and the purest water not too shallow at low tide. There are many traditional Indonesian Warung-style eateries that are not found on the main Nusa Dua beach. They sell snacks, beer, seafood and fresh juices.

Much of the beach belongs to Hotel Nikko Bali, who reserves all his amenities (umbrellas, sunbeds) only for guests of his hotel. On the beach they offer surfing lessons, surfboard rental, snorkeling, diving, etc., but I don’t recommend snorkeling, there are practically no fish. Surfing is done 600 meters from the coast, where the notorious ridge of reefs passes. Pantai Geger is located on the southern tip of Nusa Dua (5 minutes walk from the golf club), some hotels offer their customers free shuttle bus to this beach.

Accommodation

Hotels sightseeing

Nusa Dua - tourist village located in the south of Bali, on the Bukit peninsula. It is rightfully considered the most elite Balinese resort. This picturesque place, immersed in mangroves, stretches along the coast for several kilometers. It is here that the most beautiful beaches and the most luxurious hotels of the island are located. True, you will not find special attractions here. But beach holiday enjoy to the full: the sea, the sun and, of course, water sports of all stripes. The most popular surfing center in Nusa Dua is located near the Bali Hilton. There is something to do in the resort for golf lovers. For them, a wide field is broken into 18 holes - Bali Golf and Country Club. And, as in any tourist town, Nusa Dua has an abundance of cafes, restaurants and boutiques.

Beach

The beach in Nusa Dua is spacious and picturesque. The natural reef shelters it from strong winds and waves. However, the local bathing is highly dependent on the tides. You can splash in the sea either before 9:00 or after 15:00. At the very height of the day (from 9 to 15), the sea becomes shallower, and the water depth near the shore is at most 0.5 meters. Only a few coves are available for swimming here at this time. To the north of Nusa Dua is the small resort village of Tanjung Benoa (more modest in category). There is also an abundance of water activities, but the prices are lower.
