Tours for the new year and Christmas in Myanmar. New Year in Myanmar (Burma), New Year tours and cruises

Having adjusted to the Europeans in terms of time parameters, the Koreans retained some ancient traditions and customs. The most important of them is an expression of respect for older family members, presenting them with gifts or money. All new year's eve Koreans are awake. They even have a proverb about this: “If you sleep on New Year’s Eve, your eyebrows will turn gray.” Rice plays the main role on the festive table. For three whole days - from April 13 to 15 - Cambodians celebrate their New Year. They are looking forward to the holiday, hoping that it will bring peace and happiness to their families. Households together clean their homes of dirt and unnecessary things, decorate it with flowers and multi-colored light bulbs. A few days before the holiday, countless small mounds of sand appear in cities and villages. According to legend, every grain of sand that makes up a mound means the forgiveness of one bad deed. Cambodians certainly put the New Year's table near the window. On the table are the most beloved sweets in the family, intended not only for those who have gathered in the house, but first of all for Father Zhara, the brother of our Father Frost. It is believed that if he is satisfied with the treat, he will bring happiness and health to the owners of this house.

Brief History of Bagan.
At the beginning of the 11th century, the king of Bagan Anoratha received from Sri Lanka a great relic - the tooth of the Buddha. The subjects also dreamed of the tooth of the Buddha in order to pray to him. Then the king made three copies of the tooth and built 4 large stupas, in each of which he put a tooth. Since then, in the vicinity of these stupas, local kings began to build personal temples. Over 300 years, about 4,000 temples were built.

The cost of a hot air balloon tour over Bagan is $330 (per person).

If you want to celebrate the New Year on the beach, to the sound of the waves and surrounded by picturesque nature - feel free to go to the coast of the Andaman Sea. At the end of December, the air temperature in the resorts of Myanmar reaches a comfortable 30 degrees, and the water becomes quite warm. On New Year's Eve it is very sometimes warm monsoon rain, which the locals call "a downpour of happiness."

Yangon traditionally becomes the center of New Year's evening festive festivities - former capital Myanmar and a luxurious garden city. Locals and tourists take to the streets to, according to an established tradition, ring the numerous bells and admire fireworks. Throughout the city, the doors of restaurants and cafes are open, where delicious exotic dishes await guests.

Also at the end of December, the famous Burmese sales begin. Do not miss the opportunity to purchase jewelry, colorful figurines and magnets for loved ones with discounts up to 70%. Already on January 1, all goods in the country (and especially souvenirs!) Will rise in price several times.

But as regards local traditions, then the locals celebrate the New Year in the spring, namely, on April 12-13. If you are planning to tour Myanmar during this period, you are in for a favorite folk festival - the Tinjian Water Festival. Both young people and older people abundantly water each other from various containers, while wishing good luck and happiness in the coming year.

How long: 13 days / 12 nights
Who: 16 girls only
Age: 18-55 years old.
Price:€2300 + airfare.

We also have a bachelorette party in Myanmar in February: .

How it was?

We have already spent two bachelorette parties in Myanmar. Celebrated New Year 2018 on Ngapali beach. And then they returned exactly a month later to show this country to fourteen more girls.

Why did we choose Myanmar?

For our travels, we always choose unusual, ambiguous and unlike countries that surprise, shock a little and sink into the soul.

Where our bachelorette parties have not been noted - we have already been on the Roof of the World in Nepal, traveled to another planet in Bolivia, were in the center of the earth in Ecuador. And now we are waiting for a journey into one of the most mysterious and unexplored countries Asia to Myanmar. The golden land of a thousand pagodas, where time has stopped.

What will we do during these 14 days?

YANGON. The architecture around betrays its former power: once it was one of the most beautiful cities South-East Asia. And, like a hundred years ago, local men in paso skirts chew betel, golden pagodas shimmer in the sun, and purple robes of monks are visible on every corner. It is here, in the former Rangoon, that our dive into ancient culture Myanmar (formerly Burma).

Of course, we will visit the Shwedagon. A golden miracle stupa crowned with diamonds of unprecedented size and precious stones a total of 5 thousand carats. Buddhist shrine with thousand years of history, a symbol of the country and a symbol of faith, a place of power where time has stopped. We will come here at dawn to fully feel the magic of this place.

From the first days, we will begin to join the new tradition - to drink tea, not coffee. Yes, tea is the Burmese favorite drink. Especially green, especially with milk.

We will visit the famous Burmese tea houses - heritage british empire ruling here until the 60s and in the usual hole in the wall teahouses, which are so loved by the locals. Let's plunge into the atmosphere of contrast.

Do you know that tea leaves are not only brewed here for a traditional drink, but also eaten? Yes, yes, we will learn the secrets of cooking the main dish of the country - tea leaf salad and find where they cook the very best.

NGAPALI BEACH. And then for three whole days we will fly to the coast of the Andaman Sea. Celebrate the New Year and see with your own eyes the beaches, which with enviable regularity are included in the ratings of the best in Southeast Asia. Why?

Snow-white sand, slender rows of palm trees, small hotels, secluded in their shadow. But the main thing is virgin nature, blue water, a small number of tourists and open, sincere people, because the tourist boom in these places is just beginning.

We will live 10 steps from the ocean, fall asleep to the sound of the surf, finally find some time for ourselves. We will go for massages, walk along the beach at sunset, drink coffee for a long time at tables right on the sand. And we spend this year beautifully - finally, without the hustle and bustle, heaps of things on the list, buying gifts, queues in supermarkets. Time for yourself.

And then we will celebrate the New Year in a friendly company, we will swim under the chiming clock in warm waters Andaman Sea and make a wish, the most secret, which will surely come true next year.

LAKE INLE. Rested and happy, we will fly inland, because there is so much more waiting for us. Just a couple of hours - and we are in the lost world of Inle Lake. Burmese Venice, as travelers often call it, is one of the most authentic places in the country, where people have lived for centuries in stilt houses where there are no roads, only ubiquitous boats.

We will live in a luxury hotel right on the lake. Have breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake, swim in the pool overlooking the lake. We will visit local markets, temples, look at the life local residents, let's take a picture of those very famous "rowers of Inta". And we will even visit the Nga Phe Chaung monastery, where dozens of cats live.

And no, this is absolutely not for show and not for tourists, as in many countries. That is the beauty of Myanmar. She is real. Bye.

MANDALAYcultural capital countries. You will remember for a long time this view from the hill to the snow-white pagodas with golden spiers.

Sunset overlooking the world's longest wooden bridge Ubein.

And the Mingun Paya pagoda, cut right into the rock, which was supposed to be the largest stupa in the world with a height of 150 meters, but was never completed.

The very openwork pagoda of Sinbyume-Paya, more like a gourmet dessert, will also forever remain in your memory. And in crazy photographs against the backdrop of this architectural madness.

BAGAN. Dead city thousands of pagodas, stretching along the valley on the banks of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. Mystery city business card Myanmar.

We will live right a few hundred meters from the ancient pagodas. Therefore, even in a hotel, slowly swimming in the pool, you can feel the atmosphere of the place. Magic is just up in the air.

Meet the dawn with a view of the mystical pagodas.

We fly in hot air balloons over the ancient Pagan kingdom.

We will ride bicycles among the temples with a thousand-year history and find our own, tiny, but the most special and atmospheric temple, where tourists do not drop in.

Why do you need it?

“This is Myanmar. A country that is completely different from the places you knew before,” Kipling once wrote. And believe me, she has something to surprise you with.

But most importantly, she is REAL.

Sincere, not spoiled by mass tourism, until recently completely closed and isolated from the outside world, and therefore so authentic and amazing for a Western traveler.

It's like Nepal in the 60s, like the beaches of Thailand decades ago.

Bye. You understand that soon everything will change. Six years ago in Burma there were no Coca-Cola, ATMs, cards, mobile communications. No Western company could operate in the country because of the international boycott. Now the situation is changing, there is a thaw in the country, corporations are launching their own business. Therefore, we must see the color and originality of Myanmar now, with our own eyes. Then it will be too late.
