The most interesting excursions in Pattaya. Excursion to Nong Nooch Botanical Garden. Price lists for excursions in Pattaya

Not wanting to depend on tour operators, many people plan to travel to Pattaya on their own. In this post, we want to give some tips on what you should pay attention to first of all when planning such a trip, as well as tell you in detail about everything that will make your trip as rich and interesting as possible.

Buying tickets and travel insurance

Any independent trip begins with the purchase of tickets and travel insurance. There is not much to write about here. I think that everyone has long known that it is best to look for cheap flights through the aviasales service, and for inexpensive insurance on - there you can choose the right insurance option for yourself that takes into account all your criteria for the upcoming vacation.

The only thing to do before buying air tickets is to search for last minute tours to Pattaya. Sometimes, even on an independent trip, it is more profitable to fly on a package tour (the cost of a last-minute trip to Pattaya may be lower than the cost of tickets to Bangkok). This happens quite often. In addition, if you are flying for a long time and have not yet decided on a place to live, then you will have at least a week to find accommodation. This will also save you a pretty decent amount of money.

And don't forget that visa-free regime upon arrival in Thailand - for Russian citizens is issued for 30 days.

Transfer from Bangkok to Pattaya

We have already written about how to get to Pattaya on our own, but I will repeat it again.

Upon arrival at Bangkok International Airport, Suvarnabhumi, the first thing you need to do is go through passport control. In order not to waste time on its passage, fill out the immigration form in advance, which will be given to you on the plane.

After passport control, proceed further to collect your luggage and then take the escalator down one floor. There, at exit number 8, there is a bus ticket counter to Pattaya (the bus leaves every hour from 7 am to 21 pm).

Please note that dogs are not allowed on the Thai bus! If your pet is not in a special cage, you will have to take a taxi.

If you booked a hotel in Pattaya in advance, you can buy a ticket for 250 baht with delivery to the door of your hotel. If you have not yet decided on housing or plan to travel on foot, then buy a ticket for 134 baht. In this case, you will have four options where you can get off in Pattaya:

  1. On the turnoff from Sukhumvit to north street;
  2. On the turnoff from Sukhumvit to Central street;
  3. At the turnoff from Sukhumvit to South Street;
  4. In Jomtien, next to the Food Mart (beginning of Teprazit Street).

You can also take a taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya. The average cost of a trip is 1200 - 1500 baht. It is better to book a car in advance (there are many groups on VKontakte for ordering a taxi in Bangkok). At the exit from the airport you will be met with a sign.

What area to live in?

Before planning an independent trip to Pattaya, you should decide on the area for living.

If you are planning a quiet family vacation in Pattaya, then Jomtien, Pratamnak and Naklua are more suitable areas for you. If you want to be in the very epicenter nightlife Pattaya, then choose Central or South District(closer to Volkin Street).

Here is a small list of the advantages and disadvantages of each of the districts:

  • Jomtien. Quiet, calm area. There are many cheap hotels, guesthouses and condominiums. Many markets, shops, various cafes, bars and restaurants. big beach. There is public transport.
  • Pratumnak. The cleanest and quietest area of Pattaya. good infrastructure and beaches. But expensive housing. There is no public transport.
  • South Pattaya. Few good hotels, no beach, noisy, dirty, no public transport, few cafes and restaurants, far from the sea. The most popular hotels are in the immediate vicinity of Walking Street, such as the Camelot Hotel.
  • Central Pattaya. The noisiest area in Pattaya. Crowds of tourists, many shops, shopping centers, markets, bars, massage parlors, clubs, restaurants, etc. There are practically no cheap cafes. If you are going to Pattaya just to have a good “bulge out”, then settle somewhere in the central area.
  • Naklua. Quiet area, many Thai cheap cafes, there is a good beach, but it's a long walk to get to it. Almost all hotels located by the sea are very expensive.

In our opinion, if you are going to Pattaya for the first time, then it is better to settle in Jomtien or Pratamnak. Then you can decide for yourself where you like best.

We did a detailed comparison of the Jomtien and Naklua districts in the post "Where is it better to live in Pattaya".

Booking a hotel and looking for accommodation

Booking hotels in Pattaya is easy. To find a suitable option, use the roomguru.ru service or the hotel search form below:

When traveling on your own to Pattaya, it is better to book a hotel or guesthouse in advance, at least for a few days. So you will immediately have where to check in after arrival, and at passport control they may ask for the address of your residence in Pattaya.

If you are going to stay in Pattaya for no more than a month, then finding inexpensive housing in a condominium will be quite problematic, especially during the period from November to March. At this time, it is worth focusing on the amount of 18,000 - 25,000 baht per studio. Few people want to rent out their homes for a short period. So there are guesthouses and hotels. In a good guesthouse with a pool and air conditioning, a room can be rented from 500 baht per day, but if you wish, you can find it cheaper.

On your own from Pattaya to the islands

I won’t talk about the island of Koh Lan, which is located near Pattaya, everyone already knows about it. But your acquaintance with the Thai islands, you can start with him.

Over the past year, we independently visited four islands from Pattaya: Koh Chang, Koh Sichang, Samet and Koh Samui. We talked about each of these trips in detail in the corresponding posts.

If you choose from these three islands, then probably the most the best option for a trip from Pattaya will be the island of Koh Samet. It takes about three hours to get to it, and the beaches and nature there are simply amazing.

I hope that the information presented in this post will be useful for you and will help you organize your independent trip to Pattaya faster and better. For any clarifying questions, we will be happy to answer in the comments.

Here, on a scale of 1 to 25, you can find the Egyptian pyramids, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Tower Bridge and Big Ben, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Statue of Liberty, the Roman Colosseum and the Sydney Opera House. You can also see the most significant buildings of Thailand and its neighbors: Laos, Burma and Cambodia. Here are the famous Angkor Wat, sights of Ayutthaya and Bangkok, such as the Freedom Monument and King Rama IX Bridge. The cost of the tour is from 550 baht per person.

    Bangkok temple program

Those who want to get acquainted with the sights of Bangkok in full size can choose excursions around Bangkok with visits to the main attractions of the Thai capital. The tour program includes a visit to the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, boating on the canals and the Chao Phraya River, feeding giant fish, lunch at the tallest building in Asia, Baiyoke Sky, as well as a visit to the observation deck spinning in a circle located on 84th floor. The cost of the tour is from 2000 Thai baht.

Wat Yan Temple and Long Neck Women's Village

Despite the fact that the Wat Yan temple is included in the name of the tour, tourists are not allowed directly into the temple complex itself, it will be possible to admire it only from the outside. But the tour program includes a visit to the temple-museum of Viharnra Sien, a rock with the image of Buddha and the main event of the tour - a village of long-necked women from the Karen tribe, carrying five kilograms of metal hoops on their outstretched necks.

    Ayutthaya

The ancient capital of Siam - Ayutthaya, is comparable in beauty to the main attraction of Cambodia - the Angkor temple complex. Located on an island that is surrounded by three rivers - Chao Phraya, Lopburi and Pasat, this museum city is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The ruins of an ancient city built of unbaked bricks in the Khmer style, the Royal Palace and main temple cities, statues of Buddha, as well as the head of Buddha, woven into the roots of a huge ficus - all this can be seen during an excursion to the former capital. The cost of the tour is from 2500 baht.

    Trip to Cambodia

Most excursions to Cambodia fit into two days, although there are one- and three-day ones. In any case, this is too short a time to get to know such an amazing country. The tour program includes a visit to Tonle Sap Lake and Vietnamese floating village, a crocodile nursery and a show of Khmer folk dances "Apsara" And of course, the main pearl of Cambodia is the Angkor temple complex, located near the city of Siem Reap. The cost is from 3600 baht for a two-day excursion, hotel accommodation, meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as entrance tickets and an entry visa.

Pattaya has long been chosen by Russian tourists. And if five or seven years ago Europeans prevailed here, now almost all signs are full of Russian letters, Russian menus are served in restaurants: borscht with dumplings, Russian speech is all around and crowds of compatriots. But what can I say, the Russians lovingly and jokingly already call this place Pattaya city, Thailand region.

It is all the more surprising that many tourists are afraid to go to Pattaya on their own, because without any problems you can stop a passerby and ask for directions and be sure you will be answered in Russian.

Of course, the sun, the beach and the gentle sea are why tourists go to this resort in the first place. But, you must admit that having overcome thousands of kilometers by air, it is still worth going on a couple of excursions.

For those who came to Pattaya on a ticket, a special excursion program is developed by the guides of the meeting party. Let's put aside the constant discussions about "independent traveler" vs. "package bag", but the country Thailand, like no other, is very suitable for self-study, and Russian-speaking Pattaya is even more so.

But still, everyone chooses for himself how he prefers to explore this resort. Focus on your abilities, desires and passions. Usually the next day after arrival there are meetings with the guide, where a leaflet with excursions is given. I will say right away that the choice is very rich, offering, in addition to Pattaya and Thailand, to visit other countries: Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Since the time of stay in this evergreen resort is usually limited to a maximum of two weeks, you need to decide in advance what exactly you want to see.

The most popular excursion and not the last role is played by its free - "Sightseeing tour of Pattaya". Almost all tourists who come to the resort for the first time visit the "obzorka". Well, you must admit that only great laziness can prevent you from going on a free tour. Many people underestimate this type of excursion program, but meanwhile, a "review" will help you navigate in an unfamiliar place, you just need to follow the road and look out the window with curiosity.

The program includes a visit to the Big Buddha statue under open sky.

Before you start climbing the stairs to the observation deck, you will see shops with various souvenirs: magnets, plates, mugs and much more. Keep in mind that when you go down, you will find a plate with your photo. This is one of the “tricks” of the Thais: they take a photo of you on the sly and immediately put the image on a plate. The whole process takes no more than 10 minutes, and the result is real money.

After all, few people can not buy their own image.

Here, in addition to viewing the terrarium with live snakes, which terrify many people, it will be possible to purchase various products made from snake skin, as well as preparations based on snake venom.

snake farm opens a kind of shopping program, since after it they are usually delivered to the Royal duty-free, to a huge leather and fur store (and this is in hot Thailand!), to a jewelry factory and a latex factory. After visiting the shops, almost everyone on the bus will have a small or even a large bag of purchases in their hands. Tip: try to spend less time shopping, believe me, the prices in those stores where tourists are brought are much higher than in markets and city supermarkets. Therefore, the best result of this excursion is a lot of positive impressions, orientation in space and a plate with your image. Be sure to take care of comfortable shoes and a hat, the sun in Tai fries mercilessly.

"Journey to the River Kwai- perhaps the most popular excursion. In any case, the guides describe it very colorfully, arousing curiosity in tourists. The program is designed for two days with an overnight stay at a hotel on the river bank.

The tour includes: visiting coconut plantations, Erawan waterfall, Thai village and floating market, elephant farm and teak tree park. There are various variations of the program, but these are the main points. The easiest option costs from $80 to $100 per person - at a street agency! For hotel guides, the price will be 30% higher. The question of where it is better to buy everyone decides for himself. This tour is very interesting and informative, but in order not to experience disappointment, you must know the nuances and be prepared for some inconveniences that the guides are unlikely to mention.

Really long drive and the point is not at all in mileage, but in the fact that you will periodically make stops, but not for the purpose of sightseeing, but to visit shops.

The second annoying factor is insects. As always near the reservoir, and even not quite clean, there are a lot of mosquitoes, flies and other flying and biting.

Therefore, be sure to bring a protective agent against mosquitoes and mosquitoes. It will help you a lot while walking.

The third and, perhaps, the most annoying point of this excursion - disappointment. No, nature is magnificent, landscapes wonderful and amazing for a Russian person, riding on elephants - all this is wonderful.

But there is practically no time to taste all these delights. The stupidity and greed of the tour guides makes them squeeze into two days what cannot be covered even in a week. As a result, tourists arrive at the hotel exhausted, and only after moving away from the road, they are amazed at the beauty of nature from photographs.

A trip to a neighboring ancient country Cambodia also offered by hotel guides, and a lot of street agencies.

But, according to the stories of tourists who have been on this excursion, this is an even greater mockery of the sights than on the River Kwai. Here, guides try to cover a huge layer of the history of this ancient country in two days. Just imagine that the minimum tour of the stunning temple complex of Angkor Wat consists of 3 days.

And this is just to run over the tops. And the excursion program, in addition to moving back and forth and crossing the border, involves visiting Angkor, Tonle Sap Lake with a village on the water and a huge number of souvenir shops. Many tourists complain about the crumpledness of the program and the constant lack of time, and this at a price for an excursion from $ 180 per person.

I deliberately ignored such excursions in Pattaya as visits to the zoo, Mini Siam, butterfly and orchid park, elephant village and crocodile farm. Believe me, it is possible to travel all this on your own.

The most important thing is not to be afraid of anything, be friendly and have on hand tourist map, which can be taken free of charge at the airport upon arrival. Explore this resort for yourself, because you came to Pattaya!

My husband and I have vacationed in Pattaya more than once, and always took excursions only from Pegasus and Tez Tour tour operators. They didn’t buy excursions on the street, because they heard a lot of negative reviews, and there is more trust in large companies. I must say right away that the cheapness of street tours is a myth. Rather, an excursion with the same name may cost less in street agencies than in tour operators, but in this case, the program will include fewer seats which tourists can visit. Excursions are one-day and two-day. A program designed for 3 or more days is already a rarity. This is due to the fact that most vacationers come to Thailand for two weeks, and there are probably few willing to sacrifice three days of rest. A sightseeing tour of Pattaya is usually included in the price of the tour. You can ask the guide to replace it with a crocodile farm or Nong Nooch garden, as they are approximately the same in cost - about 1000 baht.

The sightseeing tour includes a visit to the observation deck, Big Buddha Hill, an aquarium, a snake farm and several shops. The most interesting place of these is the snake farm. Here you can watch snakes in a small serpentarium, see a spectacular snake tamer show and even taste the snake. For a fee (about 1000 baht per person) you will be offered snake meat soup and roast, as well as a cocktail with snake blood.

Another interesting excursion is a park of million-year-old stones and a crocodile farm. Here you can take a walk in a huge park, decorated with large stone formations bizarre shape, and feed the carps in the pond. You will also get to know crocodiles better, treat them to rotten chicken and watch an exotic show where the trainer will kiss the crocodile and put not only his hand, but also his head into his mouth. At the end of the show, it will be possible to take a picture sitting on a crocodile for 100 baht. Then you will be offered to go to a restaurant where everyone can taste crocodile meat dishes. On the territory of the park there is a mini-zoo where you can not only look at ostriches, llamas, tigers, lions, monkeys and domestic animals, but also take pictures with an adult tiger or bear, feed a small tiger cub from a bottle, holding it in your arms. Near the park there is a shop where you can buy souvenirs and crocodile skin products.

Nong Nooch Garden or Tropical Orchid Garden is a huge area planted with various plants. The territory is divided into zones, each of which is a separate garden - English, French, pagoda garden. But the most memorable in Nong Nooch is the elephant show, where you can see how these seemingly clumsy animals ride bicycles, play football, dance, throw darts and even draw pictures. By the way, these paintings can be bought later in the souvenir shop located in the garden. Elephants also do wonderful massage, and everyone can see this. Here, for a fee of 500 baht, you can take an elephant ride. I recommend these three excursions to everyone who came here for the first time. So you will quickly get to know Thailand and Pattaya, because the guides manage to tell a lot of interesting things during the tour.

For those who come to Pattaya with children, an excursion to the Khao Keo Zoo will be very interesting and informative. Not all Russian cities have zoos, but here your child will have a unique opportunity not only to see animals live, but also to stroke and feed them. This is especially useful for children of two or three years old, who sometimes do not suspect that the elephant is so huge, and the giraffe is so tall. On the way to the zoo, the guide will tell you a lot interesting facts from animal life. Khao Kaew Zoo is considered open. That is, all animals live in conditions as close as possible to theirs. natural environment a habitat. You will not see iron bars here, which so often spoil the view of the zoo. The monkeys live on an island separated by a moat that they cannot cross. The dwelling of bears is surrounded by a low fence and a small moat. Giraffes, zebras, ostriches, antelopes live on large area, and visitors to the zoo can look at them from a platform located on a small hill. It is also very convenient to feed the giraffes from here: their muzzles will be at the level of your face. Predators live in a separate area surrounded by a wall. You can watch them through the windows in the wall. Of the rare animals here, you can see the black-backed tapir and the binturong, which is a hybrid of a cat and a bear. They call him here - the cat-bear. It will be possible to pet, feed and hold him, well, capture all this in the pictures. All movements around the zoo are carried out on open train. An excursion to the zoo costs about 1200 baht per person, children under two years old travel for free. We went to the Khao Keo Zoo with our son when he was ten months old, and even then he really liked it here.

As I have repeatedly written, Pattaya is truly universal resort Thailand, where each of the vacationers will find something to their liking. And numerous tours in Pattaya They are able to further diversify the rest at the resort and make it unique and memorable. For most tourists, it is the active excursion program in Pattaya that makes them realize that this resort is suitable not only for active nightlife and beach activities, but also allows you to get to know the culture, history, architecture, religion and traditions of Thailand.

In this article I will talk about the best excursions in my opinion, which can be done both independently and as part of organized group, and the review will include those interesting objects, which are located within the city limits or not far from Pattaya. Other popular excursions from Pattaya, for example to Bangkok, to the ancient capital of the country - Ayutthaya or to the Kwai River, will be considered separately. Also, in separate detailed articles, I will periodically share my own experience of visiting certain excursions and attractions in Pattaya and give them my assessment. At the end of this article, I will briefly talk about the advantages and disadvantages of various ways to visit attractions and interesting places in the city when purchasing a ticket to various places and on your own.

    Sightseeing tour of Pattaya

If you came to the resort for the first time and on a tour package, the price of which includes a sightseeing tour of Pattaya, I recommend not to refuse this opportunity to ride through the city streets and get at least some idea of the resort city, which, in my opinion, has enough large area. This option is convenient if you still have little experience of independent travel, are not sure of your knowledge of English and know absolutely nothing about Pattaya. For example, you have no idea about the location of urban areas on the ground, you are not familiar with other useful information that can be easily found on this site and on the pages of other tourism blogs.

One of the classic flaws sightseeing tour in Pattaya, organized by your tour operator, it is almost mandatory to include in such an excursion all kinds of shops and factories, visiting which you may not be interested in, but which takes a lot of time, effort and nerve cells (when any member of your organized group, characterized by an understated sense of responsibility or overestimation of their strength in the field of drinking alcoholic beverages in Thailand, makes everyone expect their person). It should also be remembered that upon arrival in the country, you are not yet too aware of the true cost of goods offered in such establishments, therefore, significant overpayments are possible for products that are not really exclusive and cost much less in Pattaya markets and other stores and shopping malls cities.

Personally, I prefer to spend some free time before visiting a new country or city and outline a rough plan for visiting interesting places than to use such excursions. There is nothing complicated about this, and planning a new trip is a very exciting experience and allows you to pass weeks and months before it really comes to life. Therefore, I advise you to carefully study and spend some time getting acquainted with the location of the city's districts, its landmarks and the objects of interest to you. By the way, one of the most advanced options for exploring the city is unique service, which is called, which can be done right on this site, where the latest version of the program is presented.

Excursion to Nong Nooch Botanical Garden

One of the most popular excursions in Pattaya, ideal for family vacation, thanks to which the average daily number of visitors to the garden exceeds two thousand people. In addition to the largest orchid garden in the country, there is a huge variety of other representatives of the rich flora of Thailand, the number of which exceeds one thousand unique species in the park and covers an area of over 240 hectares. Nong Nooch Park has a separate tropical butterfly garden, a rich collection of beautiful palms and tropical trees, a collection of large and small cacti.

When planning, you should not worry that they will not be interested in staying in Nong Nooch Park for a long time, because in addition to plants, bright national shows, as well as a unique show of elephants that draw pictures with their trunks, play football and basketball, perform extraordinary tricks that amuse and cheer up all visitors without exception. I recommend visiting Nong Nooch Park in the afternoon, which will allow you to admire the huge landscaped area not only in daylight, but also after dark, when carefully thought-out lighting is lit everywhere, allowing you to see everything in literally in a completely different light. The cost of an excursion to the Nong Nooch Garden in 2014 is 500-600 baht (depending on the place of purchase).

Excursion "Park of million-year-old stones and crocodile farm".

An excursion in Pattaya to the specified park and the crocodile farm located on its territory is also in great demand among tourists vacationing at the resort, primarily due to the fact that this excursion is often included in the cost of a trip to Thailand. At the entrance to the park you find yourself in a garden of huge bizarre stones, which were brought here from all over Thailand. There are also real fossil trees (more precisely, tree trunks), which, due to special natural conditions, have long turned into monolithic stone columns. All rocks and petrified trees are tastefully arranged and surrounded by beautifully trimmed trees, including bonsai. By the way, one of these dwarf trees is over 200 years old. On the territory there are beautiful ponds with fish, fountains and flowers.

The second part of the park is occupied by enclosures with animals and the crocodile farm itself, where over a thousand crocodiles of various types, ages and sizes live. It is quite unusual to see huge crocodiles at a distance of just a couple of meters. In a special arena under the roof, a show is held every hour, during which the Thai drags the crocodiles by the tails, kisses them, puts his hand in his toothy mouth and puts his head there. The number of other animals in the park increases every year: camels, elephants, ostriches, bears, various birds, giraffes, etc. Not many can resist the opportunity to take a picture with a real white tiger or bottle feed a small meowing tiger cub. The cost of visiting is from 400 to 600 baht per adult, depending on the day of the week and the method of visiting.

Maybe, experienced tourists Mini Siam Park in Pattaya is not particularly impressive, because parks of a similar concept exist in many countries of the world and the set of attractions is largely identical. However, Mini Siam in Pattaya has some special charm and flavor, so if you have free time, I definitely recommend visiting it, since it is located next to the Sukhumvit highway, in the east. The park is divided into two zones: the first presents the most famous architectural structures of Africa, America, Australia and Europe, and the second part allows you to get acquainted with the main attractions of Thailand itself) or Siam, as the country was previously called.

Copies of all objects are made of very high quality and on a fairly large scale, so with some imagination and choosing the right panorama, you can get photos that your acquaintances and friends can see that you really were photographed against the backdrop of the Sydney Opera House, the Statue of Liberty in New York or against the backdrop of famous temple in the Egyptian Abu Simbel. Like Nong Nooch Park, in the evening, Mini Siam is transformed by bright lights, making the objects even more beautiful and realistic. The entrance fee to Mini Siam Park is 150 baht for a child ticket and 300 baht for an adult.

Like the Million Years Stone Park tour, the Snake Farm is often included in the price of a Pattaya tour package, and the tour here is part of an organized sightseeing tour of the resort. The Snake Farm is located near the same Sukhumvit highway, closer to Pattaya's Jomtien area. I recommend this tour to all those who are not afraid of snakes and want to not only watch the tamer show, but also try snake meat, snake soup (500 baht per plate) and snake blood (1000 baht). The farm also has a special store - a pharmacy, where you can buy medicines made on the basis of snake blood and the venom of various snakes.

Do not be afraid that poor knowledge of English will not allow you to understand the purpose of certain drugs, because. Thai sellers have already learned Russian well and will help you make the right choice. If you decide to come to the farm on your own or buy a tour from one of the street agencies, you need to be prepared to pay about 500 baht for it. I can immediately give a little advice: if you are only interested in the show and the opportunity to take pictures after it with snakes, then visiting this excursion is not necessary at all. On Walking Street, bars with a Muay Thai boxing ring often host similar snake shows in the evenings, and all you need to pay for a drink is 80 to 120 baht (depending on location) to watch.

Excursion to Wat Yang Temple Park from Pattaya

Due to the greater distance from Pattaya (more than 30 km), most tourists make an excursion to Wat Yan Temple Park as part of an organized group, and in this situation there is a certain sense in this. During this tour you will be able to admire the famous golden rock image of Buddha, which is the largest in the world and is 109x70 meters. The Wat Yan Park itself with meditation pavilions and the largest temple complex in the country, considered miraculous, are under the patronage of the Royal Family of Thailand and are a favorite place of rest and meditation for Thai Buddhists.

During a visit to the temple complex, you will see magnificent buildings of various styles, times and peoples, including the real palace of the Emperor of China, the exhibits of which were delivered directly from the Middle Kingdom. You will certainly be amazed by the masterful woodcarving and the exposition telling about the history of the enlightenment of Gautama Buddha himself, whose ashes are carefully kept by Thais in one of the stupas of the temple. Recently I came across information that tourists were no longer allowed into the temple itself, so check this issue before purchasing an excursion.

At a distance of several kilometers from the temple there is a chapel, which houses another Buddhist relic - the footprint of the Buddha. Path to located on high mountain The chapel consists of 300 steps, overcoming each of which, according to local belief, purifies a person, eliminating one negative trait. In the second part of the cultural program of the excursion, you will visit the village where giraffe women live (women of the Karen tribe, who constantly lengthen their necks with the help of special rings throughout their lives). The tour takes most day and costs 800 baht, but in my opinion it's worth it. By the way, in Pattaya itself there are also interesting temples, which you can read about in the article. "Temples of Pattaya: description and location".

Sea excursions in Pattaya and excursions to the islands

Being seaside resort, the water excursion program in Pattaya is very well developed. Not far from the city there is a group of islands, where you can either book an organized tour, or simply arrange with the captain of the speedboat next to the main city pier of Bali Hai. I already wrote more about this in the article. During the visit uninhabited islands you can expect swimming in the open sea, sea fishing, meeting monkeys, diving and other water activities included in the program.

If we talk about visiting the largest and most popular island of Koh Lan near Pattaya, I also recommend that you read the articles section "Ko Lan", which describes in detail the options and prices of sea transport to the island, attractions, and other useful information about the rest on the specified island. There are other excursions in Pattaya that may seem very interesting to someone (hiking in the jungle, quad bike or jeep safaris, karting, visiting shooting ranges, a water park, etc.), but more about them in a separate flock: " Leisure in Pattaya: options and prices”.

Where to buy excursions in Pattaya and is it worth it

There are only two options here: the receiving side, i.e. with your guide at the hotel (this is if you are on a package holiday) and at numerous tour desks in the city. The first option in most cases is more expensive, and of its advantages I can only note the presence of a Russian-speaking guide. On the other hand, excursions in Pattaya in street bureaus can be found much cheaper, but instead of a Russian-speaking guide, there may be a Russian-speaking guide, which is often not the same thing. However, given the proximity of all objects, i.e. the absence of long journeys, where the guide could brighten up the time with interesting stories, in my opinion, makes the guide factor completely insignificant, especially since you can admire the sights of Pattaya, which are described in this article, without a guide at all.

Personally, I prefer to do without a tour at all, and there is a completely rational explanation for this. I'm not interested in being part of an organized crowd, I'm not interested in visiting shops and factories where tourists are trying to sell good, but not really necessary things at inflated prices. Independent visit The excursions in Pattaya described in the article will not allow you to save a significant amount of money, because the cost of entrance tickets + the cost of transport can even be slightly higher than the cost of an organized excursion. However, the opportunity to visit an interesting place without too much fuss and during the time that you need, and not during the minutes allocated by the guide, is worth a lot.

Again, the opportunity to see the described parks in daylight and with the lights on is often impossible when traveling in a group, because the time of such excursions is limited. In any case, I wish you pleasant and memorable excursions in Pattaya and I hope that my article has helped you decide on the choice of those that best suit your interests and preferred type of holiday.

What are the best excursions in Pattaya in the 2017-2018 season? I have collected the best excursions in Pattaya in one review, I hope the information will be useful to you before the trip. The best excursions in Pattaya in the first place are interesting trips, full of events and various places that will help you get to know Thailand and get to know it from different angles. Also, prices and reviews about excursions will be useful to you, which will help you estimate the budget and understand which excursions are right for you.

Excursions in Pattaya - which ones to choose?

Pattaya is located on the mainland and very close to the capital of Thailand, Bangkok (only 120 km), so from Pattaya you can get on a lot of very interesting excursions and you won’t have to drive too long to your destination.
To be honest, it was very difficult for me to choose only 10 best excursions in Pattaya, from all that the tour bureau offers.
For example, I did not include Cambodia with Angkor Wat in my list, although this is a very worthy excursion, but it is quite expensive and takes time to visit it. If you have not been to Angkor yet, but there is an opportunity and time, you should definitely go!

The selection of the 10 best excursions in Pattaya was based on the fact that a person came to Thailand for the first time for 10-14 days and wants to get to know the Kingdom of Thailand in a short time, learn its customs and culture, visit interesting entertainment places, sunbathe and swim, do beautiful photos for memory.

The price of excursions is also important, as is the combination of quality + price, because in Pattaya it is easy to run into an unscrupulous bureau, to be left without money and excursions,
or overpay, as is the case with tour operators who charge the price of excursions 5 times higher than they should be.

Remembering myself a few years ago, I would like to get a variant laid out on the shelves, so as not to rack my brains over this diversity and not rush about in doubt.

When I came to Pattaya on a tour, I had a negative experience of "communication" with street tours and tour operators.
A taxi driver of one such office put my mother's wallet with all the money when she was taking her to the airport, (there were tears !!! she was left without a penny of money)
and in the second “agency”, having paid for the tour in advance, simply no one came for us, they were rude on the phone and in general, there was a conflict, a lost day and wasted money.

If you don’t know where to turn for excursions and don’t want sad experiments and a spoiled vacation, write in the comments, I will send you the contacts of the tour bureau, with which we visited many interesting excursions and which I trust, I recommend to friends and readers.

I recently wrote an article about, included everything that appeared from the new season 2017-2018 and described my emotions from trips. So if you are wondering where to go while in Pattaya, read it too.

Nong Nooch Park in Pattaya + New excursion to Tiger Park

If you have not been to Nong Nooch Park yet, then I strongly recommend that you do this. You can ask me - what have I not seen parks ???!

Haven't seen much! Because every year there are updates. I was quite recently, literally everything has changed in the last couple of years!
So it's worth updating your impressions of the show, and at the same time cuddle the tigers in the new park!
I wrote about my trip with children to, I advise you to read and go. you will not regret!!

The tour is new, I'm not sure if anyone else is doing it, so if you need contacts of a trusted and reliable tour desk, please contact me in the comments, I will send you an email.
We have been traveling with them in Thailand for several years now and recommend them to friends and readers who send me only rave reviews, so I recommend them to you boldly.
The cost of this new Tiger Park + Nong Nooch Garden tour is THB 900 per adult and THB 800 per child.
I remind you that communication with tigers is for an additional fee.

Children from the tigers could not be torn off!

The fact is that Madame Nong Nooch, the founder of the park, has invested her whole soul and a lot of money to make Nong Nooch Park one of the most outstanding structures of its kind in the world.

    Show in Nong Nooch

    Show in Nong Nooch

Nong Nooch Park is located very close to Pattaya, a few km from the Ambassador Hotel.
There you can walk, ride elephants, feed the animals, admire the collection of vintage cars collected by the son of Madame Nong Nooch,
and if you stay for the evening program, then you can dine under the open sky and launch sky lanterns into the sky with your loved one and make a wish.
If one visit to the park is not enough for you, tour desks offer to combine a trip to Nong Nooch with dinner at the tower of Pattaya Park.

At the tour desk that I usually recommend to my readers, the price of visiting Nong Nooch Park is 600 baht ( How much does the ticket cost if you come yourself)
And 1200 baht with dinner in a revolving .

Excursion to Nong Nooch Park This is a half day option. If you do not take dinner, then after lunch you are completely free, you can go sunbathing, swimming or shopping.

    Discovery or Khao Kheo

I don't even know which one to choose. I think it's a must visit for both adults and children.
This is a wonderful zoo 30 km from Pattaya. Read more about it

If you feel the strength to combine several excursions at once, then take the Discovery package
It includes a visit to the Khao Kheo Zoo, the Temple of Hell and Heaven, oyster farm, pineapple plantation, tiger zoo and lunch.

The price for visiting Khao Kheo Zoo at the tour desk that I use is 600 baht. (with discount)

The price for the Discovery tour especially for pikitrip readers is only 1250 baht!

I probably wouldn't drag small children to Discovery. From experience I know that even from one visit to Khao Kheo we get very tired, but from the carousel
other excursions will be like washcloths)

Also from review all-in-one good excursion for children and adults - 7 wonders of Pattaya. It includes many interesting sights,

the price is 1200 baht for adults and 650 baht for children.

This is a day trip option. Khao Kheo and 7 wonders of Pattaya before lunch, Discovery option - until evening.

Fruit Paradise on the River Kwai or Paradise on the River Kwai

The most basic tour of Pattaya. Hit of all time for many years. We traveled under the Paradise on the River Kwai program quite recently, and I described all my impressions and timing of the trip in this article -

If I had to choose one single tour upon arrival in Pattaya, I would probably choose Kwai, or Koh Kood. About ko Kude a little later, but here is Kwai!

Accommodation in fruit houses, erawan waterfall, rafting and rafting on a mountain river.

    Very interesting and rich tour.

The tour to Kwai lasts 2 days and 1 night. Paradise on the River Kwai - 2400 baht adult and child - 1500 baht.

Price for fruit paradise on the River Kwai - 2850 baht, children - 2000.

Everyone who went on the Fruit Paradise on the River Kwai tour was delighted. So many impressions, emotions and memories!

    Thai Disneyland - Dreamworld Park

    Siam Park in Bangkok

feeding giraffes is very interesting and everyone likes it!

It also has a "Marina Park", where marine animals are collected.

    Bangkok classic for 1 day

This tour is a super must-see. So how come to Pattaya and not visit Bangkok???
Don't go to Wat Pho, don't get a super professional massage there, don't have dinner at Baiyoke Sky??

For those who come to rest in Pattaya for a couple of weeks, it makes no sense to fool yourself and go to Bangkok on your own.

No, of course you can, but believe me, you are in the heat, you get tired, you will poke in the wrong place and get lost, simply because
Bangkok is quite difficult to navigate and to see several attractions in 1 day, you need to be a super pro.

And the "wise men" - taxi drivers are worth what! at Wat Pho local bred who approach all tourists and start fooling around, they say, the temple is closed today,
(lunch, repair, ceremony, holiday, etc., etc.), let me give you a cheap ride around the city!

here they are, handsome tuk tukers bred at Wat Pho

When we rested for several days in May in Bangkok, we had a maximum of 1-2 places per day, and then, with difficulty!

    Price -2150 baht, children - 1150 baht

You will see the oldest temple in Thailand, the main temple with the reclining golden buddha Wat Pho.
    ( )

Take a walk around the royal palace, see the temple with the main shrine of the entire Thai people - the Temple of the Emerald Buddha,

and the icing on the cake of this walk will be dinner on the 77th floor Bayok Sky hotel towers,
before which you rise to observation deck on the 84th floor from where you can see the whole of Bangkok!

Odyssey - a great sea trip on a high-speed speedboat

If you want a cool entertaining sea excursion, then this is definitely

Very often, sea excursions are sent on two or three deck boats, and those who are prone to this can be rocked. So the speedboat is a great option for those who usually
    nausea during sea skating.

This tour starts early in the morning and includes breakfast and drinks, including alcoholic drinks.

During the whole day you will have time to fish, ride a bun behind a boat, feed the monkeys on the island, listen to interesting stories from the guide, watch monitor lizard shows, and so on and so forth.

In my opinion, a great option to spend a day of fun and remember what will happen!

The price is 1850 baht for adults and 950 for children aged 6-10.

For readers, I agreed about bonuses :) Read about them in the article about Odyssey.

This is an option for people like me. I don’t like to talk things over for a few days, and I’ve been going on this excursion for a long time (don’t be surprised, we also go on excursions here)
    Why?

Caribo Tour - Cocktail on the Beach

Because it is impossible to get to these islands on your own.
Well, it’s possible in principle, but the cost that “free Thai speedboats” will break you will stun you.

So. During the day you will visit the wonderful island of Koh Pai, snorkel with a professional instructor and equipment, fish, ride a bun and much more.
An option for those who do not like the company to be drinking. They feed, water, but there is no unlimited alcohol, but there are delicious cocktails. For my readers, I arranged a free cocktail and a professional swimming mask.

Breakfast, lunch, fruits and soft drinks included

In my opinion, a great option to spend a day and remember a trip to Thailand for a lifetime.
This is not for you to wallow with the Chinese on Koh Lan)))

The islands are uninhabited, they carry only excursions.

Price for Caribo tour - 2000 baht and 1000 baht for children

    Koh Kood Island (Koh Kut)

I don’t know why I liked it so much, either with its unbrokenness and solitude, untouched nature and beauty, in general, I want to go to Koh Kood!

    Summarize

While writing this article, I was sorting through the pictures, remembering where and when we went, and what I can tell you. Do not spare money for travel, it is better not to buy any junk.

I will give a simple example. Last year, my husband and I broke out together in Bangkok, hooray! freedom from children!

And from the whole trip, I remember only dinner at the Bayok sky tower. Do you know why?
Because the rest of the time I was shopping! And where are these purchased rags now? I don't even remember what I bought then. But I remember that dinner, oh!

There is nothing more important than emotions, memories, impressions.

Even if at first it seems to you that they carry some kind of negative connotation from fatigue, or something else, over time, all the negativity will be washed away, only the memory will remain of the places where you were, the waterfalls where you swam, the animals you fed from your hands and the adrenaline that you experienced when you moved out of the most high slide on the attraction, all these sunsets and sunrises, cocktails, tom pits, will remain in your memory forever, and clothes are absolutely worth nothing.

Have a good trip, quality routes and a pleasant stay!
