Are there mosquitoes in Alushta. Tourists in the Crimea complain about the invasion of mosquitoes and ladybugs. What measures can be taken for mosquito bites

For several months, Crimeans have been complaining about the unprecedented activity of mosquitoes: after being bitten, many find themselves in a hospital bed. What led to such an attack by mosquitoes and infection that they carry? Are the Crimeans really to blame for hoarding fresh water, as the head of the Crimean Rospotrebnadzor, Natalia Penkovskaya, says, and what can be done in this situation? We talk about it with the professor National University bioresources and nature management of Ukraine by Mykola Doli and ecologist Margarita Litvinenko.

- Professor of the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine Mykola Dolya is in touch with us. Nikolai, what could cause the dominance of mosquitoes in the Crimea?

Share: Yes, the year is really special. The main reason for the dominance of mosquitoes is weather and climatic factors. In wet years, a particularly intensive process of development and survival of mosquitoes is observed. If we analyze the dynamics of the number of mosquitoes in recent years, we can see that they actively migrate and spread precisely under favorable weather conditions, and 2016 is the most favorable in the last 7 years. And this is a test not only of the Crimea, but also of other southern regions. Need to consider weather, the dynamics of the number of mosquitoes and carry out appropriate activities.

- Why are mosquitoes dangerous? According to the stories of the Crimeans, there are even cases of hospitalization after bites.

Share: Question about mosquitoes. They feed on blood and are carriers of pathogens of many diseases. In addition, female mosquitoes can be aggressive - again, this is due to changes in temperature and humidity. This aggressiveness enhances the process of intensive feeding of females, and people feel it for themselves.

- Does the current government in Crimea have the opportunity to limit the mosquito population, to fight them?

The most effective chemical protection

Nikolay Dolya

Share: Eat. To do this, there are biological and chemical means of protection. The most effective chemical protection. Chemical preparations have been developed for both contact and systemic effects on mosquitoes, and their numbers can be easily controlled. First of all, these are preparations of the pyrethroid group and the organophosphorus group. It is desirable to apply them using aerosol generators. Thus, it is possible to effectively control the adult stage of mosquitoes. These drugs are available, more than 40 such drugs are registered in Ukraine.

- We see stories in the Crimean media about how mosquito control is carried out. For example, in Simferopol they reported on the processing of Gagarin's park. Are these measures timely and safe for citizens? How effective are they?

Share: There should be at least 4 such preliminary stages of treatment. They should be applied at the beginning of emergence, the appearance of the adult stage, against first-stage larvae and during the formation of the overwintering population. If this is done on a one-time basis and on a large scale, the effectiveness will be low. Scientific support of the process is mandatory, otherwise it is impossible to regulate the number of mosquitoes.

- How to protect yourself from mosquitoes to ordinary people?

Share: Use preparations of the demetrate group - these are substances that can be sprayed through aerosol generators. This is an effective method that is used all over the world.

– Margarita Litvinenko, an ecologist from Sevastopol, is in touch with us. Margarita, earlier you said that the growth of the mosquito population is affected by the blocking of the North Crimean Canal. Previously, there were three epidemiologically dangerous area– agricultural region Northern Crimea, foothill and mid-mountain part, South coast and part Kerch Peninsula. Has this classification changed in the current situation?

Litvinenko: Residents of Sevastopol and nearby villages say that there are a lot of mosquitoes and much fewer dragonflies. Many small reservoirs appeared around the villages, even puddles, with stagnant water, and stagnant water is a nursery for mosquitoes. They have fewer natural enemies to eat them, and a favorable environment for reproduction - a decrease in the amount of fresh running water contributes to this. And running water in the Crimea has become less with the cessation of the launch of water through the North Crimean Canal. As a result, the hydrological balance was disturbed, water from wells and stagnant reservoirs appeared, in which mosquitoes breed.

– The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Natalya Penkovskaya, says that the Crimeans are to some extent to blame for the problem, who keep water tanks and do not take measures to combat mosquitoes. So are the Crimeans to blame?

Litvinenko: I think the Crimeans are much less to blame than the authorities. Water tanks are a natural need now that there is not enough of it. What should people do? Only stock up on water for gardens, vegetable gardens, drinking. Of course, mosquitoes will start in all these barrels and baths, but what is the way out for the Crimeans?

- What did the authorities miss in the fight against insects?

It is necessary to regulate the hydrological regime in the Crimea. We need water in the North Crimean Canal - so that there is more running water, so that underground layers and sources are not depleted

Margarita Litvinenko

Litvinenko: It is necessary to regulate the hydrological regime in the Crimea. We need water in the North Crimean Canal - so that there is more running water, so that underground layers and sources are not depleted. For example, recently I was on the Belbek River. It has become narrower, there is less water - clearly there is an unauthorized intake of water. But here the solution lies in the political plane. No matter how the authorities frighten the residents, no matter what the Sanitary and Epidemiological Station says, the residents will take water and, in fact, create nurseries for mosquitoes.

– How can Crimeans protect themselves from mosquitoes?

Litvinenko: Here everyone should choose a repellent that helps him. I have not found a single effective remedy. Of course, you can go to local authorities, but this is unlikely to help. yesterday here locals were going to write a letter to Putin. I can imagine how Putin will come and catch all the mosquitoes. Well, there will be no sense from the authorities.

Mosquitoes are a subfamily of long-whiskered dipterous insects that are part of the gnat. The subfamily includes several genera. In particular, these are Phlebotomus and Sergentomyia in the Old World and Lutzomyia in the New World. There are more than 700 species of insects within these genera.

Mosquitoes are most common in the tropics and subtropics. They are very attracted to countries with a hot dry climate, but they can also be found in some northern latitudes. Mosquitoes feel great both below and above sea level. Approximately 30 species of mosquitoes have been described that live in European countries. On the territory of the CIS they can be found on south coast Crimea, North Caucasus, Transcaucasia, Central Asia. The only place in which the presence of mosquitoes has not been detected is New Zealand and the islands of the Pacific.

Mosquito sucks blood

In nature, mosquitoes live in shaded dense bushes, in caves and in mountain crevices, near steep river banks. Female mosquitoes are especially fond of accumulations of decaying organic matter that release hexanol and isoamyl alcohol. In such places they arrange egg laying. Mosquitoes living in semi-desert conditions make their homes in the burrows of thick gerbils, fine-toed ground squirrels and some other rodents. This is due to favorable temperature and humidity for the development of both larvae and adults. IN settlements insects settle in crevices of walls, darkened places in living quarters, cluttered attics and basements, garbage dumps, and weed thickets.

Mosquitoes are especially active at night. You can recognize them by their characteristic jumping flight, a body covered with hairs and wings that are raised above the abdomen at rest. The mouthparts of mosquitoes are of a piercing-sucking type with a long proboscis. Female insects feed on the blood of animals and humans. Blood is needed for egg maturation.

How to protect yourself from mosquito bites

In the habitats of mosquitoes, you should be guided by some rules of conduct that will protect you from unwanted contact with these dangerous insects.

First, be vigilant before sunset and in the first few hours after it.

Secondly, be especially careful when traveling in tropical and subtropical countries.

Thirdly, when spending the night in nature, use an anti-mosquito net or, in the absence of it, any other suitable material.

Fourth, tuck your pants into socks or boots, wear long sleeves.

Fifth, use repellents that provide protection against mosquitoes and mosquitoes. These are special natural or synthetic chemicals used in everyday life to repel arthropods.

mosquito attack

There are olfactory repellents that affect the olfactory organs of insects, and contact repellents, the effect of which is possible only with direct contact of the insect with the treated surface. Synthetic repellents are available in the form of lotions, creams, ointments, as well as emulsions and aerosols. You can buy them at any pharmacy.

Sixth, cover the windows of your houses with fine mesh.

Seventh, use fumigators - devices for the destruction of mosquitoes and mosquitoes by poisoning them with poisonous vapors or gases that are non-toxic to warm-blooded animals. You can also buy fumigators at a pharmacy.

Eighth, keep your yard clean. Do not arrange household and construction waste dumps.

Ninth, a couple of times a year, dig up the ground on lawns and flower beds.

Tenth, get rid of plant debris, fallen leaves, weed or mow weeds in a timely manner.

Eleventh, cement floors in basements, attics, sheds, and other utility rooms. Glaze all windows. Make sure all doors close tightly. Tighten the vents with a fine mesh.

Twelfth, destroy rodents in the house and on the site.

What are the effects of a mosquito bite

Mosquito saliva contains toxic substances that provoke a strong reaction of the human body to the bite of this insect. This disease is called phlebotoderma and is most common in the hot countries of the Middle East. It is also recorded in Central Asia. In temperate climates, phlebotoderma is seasonal and manifests itself in summer and autumn.

Depending on the nature of the course, the disease can be acute and chronic.

After a few minutes, and sometimes even hours after the bite, a rash appears on the skin. As a rule, it is observed on the back of the hands, forearms, lower legs, face and other open areas of the body. First, an urticarial-erythematous spot appears on the affected area. It quickly increases to the size of a 10-15 kopeck coin. After a few hours or even days, the spot turns pale and completely disappears. It happens that in its center there is a point hemorrhage.

Some victims who are prone to allergic reactions have symptoms of Quincke's edema or bullous rashes. With the bullous form of phlebotoderma, erythematous-urticarial elements appear on the skin, then vesicles and large blisters that resemble pigeon eggs in size. A 3-5 cm erythematous corolla often forms around bullous lesions. In most cases, the following symptoms develop:

  • headache
  • feeling of weakness
  • poor appetite

The blisters gradually disappear after a few days.

As a rule, rashes disappear after contact with mosquitoes ceases. However, in some people, rashes are observed for several months and years, developing into chronic phlebotoderma. The disease is characterized by hemispherical nodes from 5 to 15 mm in diameter, which are localized mainly on the extensor surfaces of the limbs, as well as on the back, lower back and buttocks. The nodules are colored brownish-gray and covered with scales and crusts. The disease may be accompanied by the addition of pyococcal infection. Victims may suffer from neurotic disorders, insomnia, loss of appetite caused by acute itching.

The prognosis is often favorable. However, sometimes the disease can stubbornly develop for several years, not responding to treatment.

Mosquitoes also carry phlebotomy fever and other arbovirus infections. Plus, when they bite, they can infect a person with cutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis, bartonellosis.

What not to do with mosquito bites

You should not independently use hormonal drugs to relieve swelling and itching.

What measures can be taken for mosquito bites

If a local reaction occurs, you can do the following.

1. Wash the bitten area with soap and water to remove any infected particles that may have been left behind by mosquitoes.

2. Apply an ice bag or other cold object to the bite to relieve itching and reduce inflammation. In this case, you can also use any improvised substance for external use from the list below:

  • baking soda solution
  • boric alcohol,
  • tincture of calendula
  • onion or tomato slice,
  • toothpaste (non-gel),
  • propolis tincture.

For severe reactions to mosquito bites in without fail get medical help. Only a doctor will prescribe you the appropriate treatment, which may include hyposensitizing agents, B vitamins, antipruritics, corticosteroids, and, in case of complications with pyoderma, antibiotics.

Interesting facts about mosquitoes and their bites

  • As early as 1764, the Spanish doctor Bueno mentioned in his book that the population of the Peruvian Andes associated the appearance of diseases such as leishmaniasis and bartonellosis with the bites of small insects called "uta".
  • In Suriname, a small South American state, mosquitoes are used to execute convicted Negroes. They are shown bound and naked. And within 3-4 hours all the convicts die.

My husband and I have been to different seas, including on the Black Sea, but in Evpatoria it did not happen.

In August 2017, we decided to rectify the situation by hastily going to rest.

The weather was favorable, we swam a lot, sunbathed a little, but more simply took air baths.

Vacation with children

There were more than enough people on the beach, the kids were squeaking and splashing. Mostly they rest with families or companies, I don’t know what kind of relationship they have, but the people huddled in groups. You can say the most motley people, from babies to the elderly.

What to take with you on vacation?

It’s not worth taking anything extra to the resort, why bother, enough swimsuits, a camera and a wallet stuffed with cash.

Where is the best place to stay?

We never settle in the private sector, we prefer exclusively luxury hotels. There were no complaints about the staff. The design is stylish, it is pleasant to spend time.

What to do at the resort?

I didn’t have to be bored, riding a banana service costs 300 rubles, My husband ventured to wave on a jet ski - 700 rubles. When tired of the beach, took up the tour.

Were in the dolphinarium, funny animals cost 2000 entertainment for two.

We visited the water park, paid 2800 rubles, but got a lot of pleasure.

We traveled along sightseeing tour- 400 rubles per person. Golden ring Crimea cost us 2200 for two. The Karaim kenassa aroused our special interest, we received comprehensive information, the guide spoke in an accessible way about religion and cultural heritage the edges. They visited the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, so that not only the body rested, but also the soul. Yevpatoriya Park Crimea in Miniature left a special impression, this is something unforgettable, you can look at it for hours. We went to the gallery, it's so nice to look at the paintings, silence, peace, it's funny to draw conclusions, considering the works. Museum of Local Lore, is somewhat similar to all the others, but of course there are also unique things, you should definitely visit it in order to get to know the development of the region better.

The beach is clean, all amenities, you can buy ice cream or some water to cool off.

We bought goods in the markets and in stores, my husband loves honey, we hope it was local beekeepers who sold the price for half a kilo of 250 rubles. Fruits, vegetables, berries from 10 rubles to 400, I would also like it to be local products, and not Turkish or something else brought from somewhere. I really liked the ice cream, unusual pleasant taste. Sometimes the sellers were too intrusive, seeing that tourists were trying to persuade them to buy their goods. For relatives, they bought magnets, and other little things, the cost of souvenirs started from 30 rubles to 300. We bought something for ourselves, liked the products of local craftsmen, and decided to take them as a keepsake.

We ate at the cafe. Salads, snacks from 50 rubles to 200 rubles, lunch cost 300 in an inexpensive dining room, if a cafe up to 600 rubles. We dined a couple of times in a restaurant, paid 2000 for two, but dinner with alcohol came out to us 3000 rubles.

Sometimes we just walked around the city, looked at the architecture. An unforgettable sight in the evening wandered along the birch, watched the sunset and listened to the sound of the waves.

It is a pity that we were too little in these charming places, but the vacation was short and it was necessary to return urgently.

Holiday experience in September

We often visit Evpatoria, different time of the year. This time the trip fell on the first days of September. I can say that it is not for nothing that this time in the resort is called the "velvet season", the rest turned out to be very comfortable. The sun did not soften, but gently warmed - the tan really lay down with even gold, there were not so many vacationers - it was possible to get on excursions and entertainments without long tedious queues, and the sea gave all its heat accumulated during the hot summer months. Yes, and the people from whom we rented accommodation tried to somehow pay more attention, realizing that we were the last in this season.

Vacation with children

This resort has long been considered a children's health resort; the infrastructure for children is well developed for both recreation and treatment. There is something to occupy a child of any age and any requests.

Family holiday

We always go on vacation with our family. I think that vacation is a great time for joint walks, dinners, excursions, boat rides, swimming, heartfelt conversations, especially if all this happens on sea coast where nature itself is conducive to rapprochement and romance.

Recreation for the elderly

A lot of people in old age have a rest, visit various sights, go for treatment in sa

natorii, and just leisurely stroll along the embankment.

In principle, young people can also relax in Evpatoria, there are places to go and things to see. But without overstated requests, this city is not very glamorous, and there are not many parties here.

What to take with you on vacation?

I am a mother of many children and collecting things always causes a little stress for me. I plan for a long time what I will take for each child, and suddenly it gets colder or it rains, plus we adults need something. As a result, I look at the mountains of things, remove the super mom in me and take the most necessary things: ordinary resort items at a discount for the autumn season, a thin jacket for the evening can be enough, favorite small toys of children, medicines that are always familiar to us, although in Crimea there are plenty of them in every pharmacy, well, of course, documents and money. No special features, everything is as always for relaxation. If we go by car, then we take packs of water, some food, it’s still cheaper at home and for small geroscooters and scooters.

Where is the best place to stay?

The choice of housing, as it is not trite, depends on the desires and financial capabilities. In Evpatoria, we rent an apartment near the embankment, along Pionerskaya Street, we like the location and living conditions. Near the sea, apartments are certainly more expensive than on the outskirts, but still cheaper than in hotels like "Ukraine" and the like. There are a lot of resorts right on the waterfront, but you need to book in advance. IN Lately hotels are growing like mushrooms, a lot of new buildings with beautiful modern architecture They are comfortable and cozy, but not cheap. The most economical option is the so-called temporary buildings, extensions. Small rooms, often on the second floor.

What to do at the resort?

The priority on holidays with children is the sea, the beach and children's entertainment. Evpatoria has nice park attractions, right on the waterfront, there is also a dolphinarium with a swimming pool. Not far from Duvanosskaya street there is a Dinopark, where it will be interesting for younger children. Throughout the city there are many playgrounds, you can entertain a child without investing money. The whole family loved it an evening walk on a boat that departs from the pier for central embankment. I do not advise you to go to the Evpatoria Zoo, everything is somehow miserable there - I was not impressed. A lot of positive emotions gave visits to temples, there are many of them in the city, there are very interesting architecture and history.

There are several beaches in Yevpatoriya: the most popular is "Central", it stretches along the entire line of the big Embankment, there are always a lot of people, there is free and paid entrance to the areas that belong to sanatoriums and hotels. Sunbeds and toilets are paid. There are many different cafes and shops, you won't have to go hungry. The value of the beach is in the gentle sandy entrance to the sea, which is very popular with children. In the old part of the garden there is also the embankment named after Terashkova, where mostly young people and couples without children bathe. There is no beach as such, just a concrete strip along the coast, so people sunbathe on it, and jump into the water from it. There are very few people here in autumn. Most comfortable beach, according to our observations, this is on the outskirts of the city - " Cote d'Azur", the sea is clean, the entrance is sandy, there is a lot of entertainment for children and adults. The entrance is paid, but the territory is landscaped, with sunbeds, gazebos, showers, toilets. True, not everyone likes to get to it on fixed-route taxi, so there are few people there even in high season.

There are no large supermarkets in the city, and there are no chic boutiques with sales either. There are enough goods for everyday needs, but the prices are cheap even for local seasonal goods. Souvenirs at every step, a lot of handicrafts of local craftsmen. For memory, be sure to look at some original little thing.

Food on every corner, for every taste and budget. There is Tatar, Russian, Ukrainian, chinese food. You can also eat on the embankment, dishes on an open fire are especially successful, and in the city center in cafes and restaurants. After all, it is edible, plus or minus, as elsewhere. I liked grilled meat and vegetables in the cafe on the Embankment "U Volodya", no frills, but tasty, desserts and a romantic atmosphere in the "Literary Cafe", pizza and cocktails in the pizzeria "Mario".

Is it worth it to rest in Evpatoria?

Of course, it is worth relaxing in this resort. Especially for couples with children and without pretensions to old-school. After a rest in Evpatoria, there is some kind of warmth that makes you return to this benevolent city.

Holiday experience in July

The month of July is great for relaxing in Evpatoria, however, like all other summer months. Before, I even managed to relax in September, and I want to tell you, the vacation turned out to be simply incredible. I feel comfortable in any place where there is a sea, this resort is no exception. I think it's worth going here at any warm time, but keep in mind that July and August are considered the most common months for holidays, so the number of people on the beach is very large, and thus prices rise, from food to housing.

Family holiday

I singled out the family vacation category, because I think it will be boring for single people here, except to make new friends here, but personally I wouldn’t go that far myself. In principle, the elderly will be comfortable here, as well as couples with children. But perfect vacation it will turn out for couples or young people, because there is something to see and where to go.

What to take with you on vacation?

Collecting things took me a total of several days. To begin with, in order not to forget anything, I made an approximate list of what I will take, so that later I would not forget anything. I put unnecessary things right away, such as things, shoes. And what I use every day I put it down directly on the last evening before leaving. For myself, I took a medicine for pressure, for my husband a glucometer. without this, we try not to go anywhere, so as not to look for the necessary medicines later. It is mandatory to take hats, otherwise you can get a sunstroke quickly, and means of sun protection, and a remedy for burns. Everything else I consider completely individual.

Where is the best place to stay?

This is not the first year we have been staying at the Primorskoye recreation center. The plus is that the cost depends on the number of people, and not on the room, as in any other place. And the price is scanty, for 300 rubles, regardless of the month. It's almost impossible to find something like this here. Especially to the sea just one minute. The only thing is to book your rooms in advance, at least a month in advance. Otherwise, everyone wants to get on such a freebie.

What to do at the resort?

There are more attractions in Evpatoria than you need. For several years we have not fully explored this city and each time we find new places for ourselves. The Dolphinarium is a very exciting place, children will really like it there, but adults can go a couple of times for a change. Most of all we like to move around the city by tram, it is both cheap and exciting. But the main place where you can not go is the Karaim kenassa. I also advise you to see the Crimean Park in miniature, for those who have been to Crimea at one time. This list can be listed for a long time, I advise you to come to the place, take a map and go in any direction. Or order an excursion program, but for us it is expensive and not necessary, we ourselves do an excellent job with the role of guides.

How lucky you are with the beaches, check this point when booking accommodation. Because coastline has beaches not only in the sandy shore, but also with stones. For some, this is a plus, and someone likes it, but I can’t lie on them, much less walk. Thus, our vacation a few years ago was almost ruined, we had to go to other beaches, and this is at least half an hour.

Holiday experience in August

It was my first vacation in the Crimea, then I chose Evpatoria and did not regret it. The heat was terrible in August, during the day all 10 days of rest the air temperature went off scale for +30. My parents, brother and girlfriend and I had fun here, spending a lot of time on the beach and walking around the city. We were very pleased to bask in the sun after our native northern region. And at night we were saved from stuffiness with the help of air conditioning.

Youth rest

Young people will also find something to have fun in Evpatoria. During the day it will be possible to swim here, attend excursions, have fun on the rides, and in the evening - go to a disco. At least my girlfriend and I were not bored, we had a good time, made many friends.

Family holiday

Families without children who prefer relaxing holiday with benefit, will be able to visit in Evpatoria interesting museums, mosques, temple complexes. You can just take a walk in the city parks, arboretum.

What to take with you on vacation?

We took a lot of summer things with us, bathing accessories, medicines. We also took our tablets and smartphones to capture the best moments of the holiday. Hats in August in Evpatoria are very necessary so that your head does not get hot, but if you forget them, then buy them here without any problems. We took warm sweaters in case of bad weather, but they never came in handy for us.

Where is the best place to stay?

The cheapest housing in Evpatoria is located far from the sea, as a rule, it has a minimum number of amenities. The choice of accommodation in this resort is diverse. Someone settles in apartments, someone rents rooms in hotels, some prefer sanatoriums. All this is in Evpatoria, even places where "savages" settle in tents. So you need to take a card, go online or contact a travel agency and look for an option according to your wallet and requirements. You can find accommodation locally. We found our accommodation, namely 2 rooms in a small hotel with a kitchen, a balcony, appliances, including a washing machine, via the Internet, contacted the owners and booked. On the spot, it turned out that the photos of the rooms sent were true, it was 400 meters to the sea, in general, it suited us. They paid 2,000 rubles a day for housing.

What to do at the resort?

We were in Evpatoria for the first time, so we had something to see here. We visited the largest and beautiful mosque Juma-Jami, where we were kindly given scarves, and the guide showed us around the room for free, told a lot of interesting things about this place. We looked into the ancient Muslim monastery of the 16th century Tekiye dervishes, where wandering healer monks once settled in narrow cells with an earthen floor. Next to it is ethnographical museum, in such ancient city like Evpatoria, there was something to see. If the gate to it is closed, just ring the bell. We spent a lot of time active entertainment in the Evpatoria amusement park and the Frunze park, where they swept more than once on almost all the attractions. We really liked to walk in the evenings on the embankment, where vacationers were entertained for free by the animators of the show soap bubbles, and along Duvansky Street, where a brass band played. We also visited the local aquarium and dolphinarium.

We liked the beaches in Evpatoria. Under the feet of the sand, which is pleasant to walk barefoot. Everything is provided on it: toilets, showers, changing rooms, smoking areas. The entrance to the sea is gentle, which is convenient when swimming with children. The water is clean, as is the beach itself. There are a lot of people here in August, but you can find a place where you can stay. Merchants with all sorts of things walk along the beach.

Our shopping in Evpatoria consisted of buying souvenirs and products. Fruit on the market was cheap, for example, we took apples here for 23 rubles per kilogram. I especially liked gray bread from 11 rubles per loaf. In addition to souvenirs and sweets, we bought all sorts of starters in Evpatoria for 45 rubles per bag.

Where can you eat?

There are many cafes in Evpatoria. Although we mostly cooked ourselves, sometimes we looked into such establishments. Most often they visited some cafe on Frunze Street to eat pizza or a salad, sometimes they ordered a full meal.

How much does it cost to eat? About food prices.

Prices in a cafe in Evpatoria are approximately the following:

pizza - from 125 to 225 rubles, depending on the ingredients and size;

"Caesar" and Greek salad - 140 rubles;

borscht and okroshka - 70 rubles;

hodgepodge - 100 rubles;

chop - from 100 to 200 rubles;

rice and buckwheat - 30 rubles;

french fries - 40 rubles.

Is it worth it to rest in Evpatoria?

We will definitely return to Evpatoria. I advise everyone to start acquaintance with the Crimea from this resort. While we decided to go to Yalta or Feodosia to see what is interesting in these places, but we are even considering the option of visiting Evpatoria for a couple of days, we fell in love with this city to such an extent.

Holiday experience in July

Beautiful weather. The sun is at its zenith. The temperature reaches a maximum of 35 degrees. Ideal conditions for relaxation, for swimming on the beach. Evpatoria pleased with good weather in July. Precipitation was practically not observed during the two weeks of my stay there.

Rest alone

This place is perfect for a solo getaway. You can sunbathe on the beach and find yourself a girl for a holiday romance. Many free lionesses are looking for a pleasant company and joint leisure. This immediately catches the eye. And, on the beach. You don't have to go anywhere. With the right approach, you will not meet anyone here.

What to take with you on vacation?

All the essentials. Beach accessories, light summer things. If you wish, you can take diving equipment or fishing. Here, in addition to places for swimming, there are also places for water leisure. You can ride a boat, if you want to fly on hot-air balloon or a hang glider. Excellent weather conditions clearly contribute to this.

Where is the best place to stay?

There are many places to live here. From private houses to hotels. Depending on the thickness of your wallet, you can find accommodation for every taste. For tourists on the beach there is a place to stay tent camps. This option seemed to me the most optimal. You pay 500 rubles for placing a tent and you don't have to go far from the beach. Similar housing options range from 1,500 rubles and more. And the closer to the places of rest, the more expensive it is, as a rule. I saw ads where they took even 4000 rubles per day.

What to do at the resort?

Someone likes excursions, but I like to spend time directly on the beach. Swim and have a sunbath. This can be done all day long. The water in Evpatoria is clean, the quality of the beaches is excellent. yellow sand, a large number of people. All this in one place. For me, as a lazy person, such conditions seemed optimal. Moreover, the network of such beaches is quite extensive. Nearby cafes, eateries and restaurants. Recreation and food, all in one place.

The infrastructure is excellent. On the beach you can find everything your heart desires. From squids and rapans to souvenirs. Beach workers allow merchants to vacationers. And with the hands of what you just can not buy. And you don't have to go to the market. The prices are reasonable, since the goods are perishable and, as a rule, they immediately try to fuse it. So these places seemed like heaven on earth to me. When you rest and what you want goes into your hands. There would be money and a desire to buy something. And the offer will not keep you waiting long.

What to do at the resort?

A big surprise for me was the presence of a surf school in Evpatoria. For a vacation, you can learn the basics of this complex sport without leaving Russia.

In the evenings, walking around the city, you can admire the musical fountains.

I would especially like to note a large number of entertainment for children. Animators on the streets, slides, entertainment centers and almost half of them are free. Everywhere there is something for the kids.

Almost all offered excursion programs you can organize it yourself, the main thing is to rent a car for free movement.

City beach in good condition. Garbage is regularly removed, the entrance to the sea is comfortable, and the water is clean and transparent.

Sellers of corn and various snacks constantly walk along the coast.

Pros of rest in Evpatoria

Everywhere very responsive and pleasant people, despite the fact that the influx of tourists is large, everyone is treated with attention.

Good option for budget holiday for the whole family.

Cons of rest in Evpatoria

You should read the reviews about the hotel where you plan to stay in advance. Sometimes photos and reality do not match. An unpleasant surprise can be a shower or amenities for two rooms or on the floor. In Evpatoria there are many Soviet-style hotels where no one planned five-star conditions. Shutdown hot water- not uncommon and you also need to be prepared for this.

If you plan to travel by taxi, then you should use a mobile application or call the taxi service directly, as local taxi drivers try to charge two to three times more if they see that they are visiting tourists.

If you look closely, the mosquitoes in the photo look like a fat clumsy mosquito. However, in terms of the consequences of their bites, they are much superior to their light-winged relative, primarily in that they spread much more diseases dangerous to humans.

On the other hand, the area where mosquitoes live is much narrower than that of a mosquito, so not everywhere there is a danger of being bitten by this dangerous insect, one of which is shown in a very enlarged form in the following photograph.

One type of mosquito

Biological characteristic

Mosquitoes belong to the subfamily of long-whiskered two-winged insects, they are also referred to as the so-called gnat complex. They occupy a habitat in which there are practically no negative temperatures, that is, these are the tropics and subtropics. On the territory of the former Soviet Union this is Crimea, Northern and South Caucasus, Part Stavropol Territory and Kuban, southern regions Ukraine. In total, there are more than seven hundred species of mosquitoes, many of which carry various dangerous diseases, both for humans and animals.

Description

Mosquitoes are very small insects, rarely their body length exceeds two millimeters. The color scheme is also not saturated and varies in black and white from almost transparent to dark. The only thing that can color an insect is that drop of blood that it sucks out of the victim.

Nutrition

In the normal state, the larvae and adults of mosquitoes feed on natural juices and plant sugars. But for the development of oviposition, the female is forced to feed on blood, in this respect, nature has laid some secret known to her. Apparently, plant food is not enough for the maturation of offspring.

Attention! Male mosquitoes, like mosquitoes, do not drink blood!

reproduction

Mosquitoes reproduce in a full cycle, that is, in their generation, a complete transformation takes place in stages:

  • egg;
  • larva;
  • chrysalis;
  • imago.

Unlike the well-known bloodworm, a mosquito larva that lives in water, the offspring of mosquitoes do not develop in water, but simply in a humid environment at an optimum temperature of 25 to 30 degrees, depending on the species. Often their habitats are dung heaps, rodent burrows or poultry houses.

Difference from a mosquito

Many mistakenly believe that these insects represent the same family, they are only different in name, this is not so, and the differences between mosquitoes and mosquitoes are significant. We have already mentioned some of the differences in our story, we will list how the mosquito differs from the mosquito:

  1. Let's start with a squeak, unlike mosquitoes, mosquitoes do not squeak. After all, a nasty mosquito sound is made from the vibration of the wings, and fat mosquitoes do not really like to fly. In Italy, in connection with this, they are even called "pappa tachi", which translates as: "biting silently."
  2. In a sitting mosquito, the wings are folded at an angle to the body, while in a mosquito, they are parallel to it.
  3. Mosquitoes first fly to the victim and crawl over her body before biting, while mosquitoes move in small jumps.
  4. The flying qualities of mosquitoes are unimportant, so it is much easier to swat them than fidgety and agile mosquitoes.

Harm

Now let's talk about the harmfulness that these small insects represent for humans. A mosquito bite is similar to a mosquito in its way of doing it. The insect also chooses the most vulnerable spot on the skin of the victim and pushes its proboscis there, pushing the tissues apart and helping with gnawing mites at the tip of the proboscis. At the same time, the insect injects saliva with painkillers and anticoagulants into the canal.

Moreover, in the picture we presented the mildest version of the consequences of bites. Depending on the type of mosquito and personal intolerance, skin lesions can be quite significant. And besides the obvious symptoms of mosquito bites, such as burning or itching, you can expect even bigger troubles.

Mosquitoes are carriers of such dangerous diseases as:

  • leishmaniasis;
  • bartonellosis;
  • mosquito fever.

In addition, mosquito bites often cause such a dangerous skin lesion as phlebotoderma.

Protection

On air

The inhabitants of central Russia and residents of areas of the country with a more severe climate can be threatened by a meeting with mosquitoes only if tourist trips V " warm countries". To protect yourself on vacation, you must undergo the vaccination recommended for visiting a particular area, and also remember the basic means of protection against mosquitoes and mosquitoes:

  • Use of special gels, ointments and aerosols before going outdoors. You need to process all open areas of your body.
  • Try not to leave the premises at the time of morning and evening twilight - the favorite time for insects to come out.
  • Try to stay away from damp places, stagnant water ponds or swamps when outdoors, especially in cool weather.
  • Wear loose, but maximally covering the surface of the body clothing - wide shirts, loose trousers.
  • Avoid overheating and sweating by choosing light-colored clothing and reducing your time outdoors.

In the house

To protect your home, you need to use mosquito blocking agents:

  • Mosquito nets;
  • gauze;
  • rare fabric or tulle.

How to get rid of mosquitoes in the house if they have already got there? The simplest aerosol products will help, like the well-known Dichlorvos.

If your house or area has a swimming pool, do not let the water in it stagnate and begin to "bloom". This will attract dangerous insects to the site, and then it will take a lot of trouble to get rid of mosquitoes.

Apart from all the chemical or ultrasonic methods that are so popular these days, remember that man himself is the best mosquito killer. You can just get out of trouble if:

  • catch an insect
  • slam it with a newspaper or a special cracker;
  • clap it between your palms;
  • cover on the surface of the table or other piece of furniture with a cup or glass.

When catching and killing mosquitoes by hand, don't let them bite you, otherwise the whole hunt may become useless.

Advice! You need to destroy all the mosquitoes in the room to the last, and then take measures to protect the premises from re-invasion.

After the bite

Consider what to do if bitten by a mosquito. Of course, it’s better not to bring it to this, but since it happened, we must be ready to deal with the consequences of the bite.

  1. Be sure to wash the bite site with soap and water.
  2. Apply ice or a cool object.
  3. You can use a cut of fresh vegetables or fruits, the juice of which can disinfect the wound: onion, tomato.
  4. Use a solution of baking soda or boric alcohol.

With a strong individual intolerance or danger of catching infection– see a doctor immediately. Sometimes adults are embarrassed to contact medical institution with a trifling pimple, but it is fraught with great danger. Do not joke with your own health, but take all necessary measures especially carefully and impeccably if a child has been bitten.

By the way! In Suriname, a state in the north South America, where the famous Dutch football player and coach, Ruud Gullit, is from, still exists the death penalty mosquitoes. The condemned are tied naked to poles in places infested with mosquitoes.

Towards the end, watch how a mosquito bites a person’s hand:
