What you need to finish to work at the airport. Heavenly Jobs: Aviation and Airport Jobs

Aviation is a strategically important industry, closely related to astronautics and weapons. Since the times of the USSR, our pilots have been considered among the best in the world. Even foreign campaigns are gladly waiting for them to work, but not every pilot will be able to take advantage of this opportunity. Someone will be stopped by health requirements, others - knowledge of the language.

More and more tasks that used to be solved by a person are now performed by automation. However, this does not mean that people are no longer needed. For a long time, even the smartest robot will be monitored by an operator - a pilot, an airport dispatcher or an engineer. Of course, they will constantly have to improve their knowledge, but in modern world no one will be able to work qualitatively without periodic professional development.

Working at the airport is just beautiful

Working in aviation comes with a huge responsibility, which directly affects wages. The salaries of pilots and flight attendants occupy a leading position in the ranking of the highest paid specialties. There are not so many jobs in the industry, this area is waiting for real enthusiasts who are ready for anything for the sake of the sky.

Professions in civil and military aviation

Usually work in civil aviation associated with passenger traffic, but that's not all. "Grazhdanka" performs commercial transportation of goods, is involved in agriculture, and makes urgent flights for medical purposes. The training of future pilots, aviation exhibitions, training of paratroopers and fire fighting also remain behind the scenes.

Fortunately, the Russians observe the work of military aviation only at the May 9 Victory Parade. Otherwise, the activities of the Air Force are classified or take place on flight ranges away from settlements. Military aviation- this is the development of new machines, and training, and military operations.

Work in the sky

1. Pilot of civil aviation

The captain of the ship is responsible for the safety of the flight, the safety of the aircraft, the lives of passengers or valuable cargo. The pilots are well prepared physically, morally and mentally. IN emergency they must be able to assess the risks and opportunities of the aircraft, make a quick and correct decision. This requires experience and a thorough knowledge of the machine on which you fly.

No less important is the co-pilot. According to job description, all flight preparation lies on him: find out the route, weather, check the serviceability of the instruments. Have you heard stories about birds getting into aircraft engines? To prevent this from happening, the co-pilot will also check the ornithological situation in the area. So he has more responsibilities.

The salary of a pilot starts from 150 thousand rubles. The amount depends on the flight hours, the prestige of the airline and the aviation industry where the pilot works. However, no one will entrust the plane to a novice. To sit at the helm of a car, you need at least two years of flight experience, which can be acquired during training at a flight school or on training grounds.

2. Pilot of military aviation

Air force pilots are superhuman. They withstand an exhausting schedule, constant physical and moral overload, are familiar with technical specifications of all known air vehicles, with radio engineering, echolocation, can, if necessary, repair the aircraft on their own.

Presumably, a military aviation pilot earns from 100 thousand a month, but the exact data is not advertised. But you should not go to the Russian military aviation for the sake of a good salary and a decent pension. The work is difficult and dangerous. Offers constant moving, regular business trips to remote corners of the country and huge workloads. Perhaps this work is only for real patriots and daredevils.

3. Test pilot

A test pilot is a very rare profession. Only the most experienced get here, but they still have to finish their studies! This pilot's job is to test new technology and help aircraft designers refine it. The second area of responsibility is the training of the crew of a military aircraft.

“The test pilot constantly 'doesn't remember' that he might not return from the flight - He 'knows it'. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to do a good job.". Honored Test Pilot of the Russian Federation
S. N. Tresvyatsky

Test pilots are trained in everything related to innovations in the aviation industry. Sometimes graduates even write a real thesis before taking up duties.

4. Flight attendant

In stewardesses and stewards, too, will not take everyone. The appearance of boys and girls is subject to rather severe requirements. The person on whom the safety of passengers depends in an emergency must be endearing. Employers look at height, weight, appearance defects, such as scars, clarity of speech and pleasant appearance. You also need to be proficient in English.

Thousands of girls dream of becoming a flight attendant, but the requirements for them are very strict

The flight attendant's job is to meet passengers, help them get into the cabin, take care of them during the flight and see them after it. Flight attendants should be able to immediately notice dangerous situation and organize coordinated actions of passengers. It is also their duty to provide first aid if necessary. Read stories about in-flight births to get an idea of what they're talking about. The salary of a flight attendant starts from 40 thousand rubles per month. Experienced flight attendants receive 2-3 times more.

5. Flight engineer

An airplane is a complex structure, literally everything is verified in it: shape, size, materials, power, artificial intelligence, operation of instruments, chassis and fuel system. In order for the ship to be in good order, a person is needed who will carefully monitor it. This is the responsibility of the flight engineer.

The flight engineer can both accompany the aircraft in flight and wait for it on the ground at the airport. The salary of these specialists starts from 40 thousand rubles, and they can work both in civil and military aviation.

Work on earth connected with heaven

1. Airport dispatcher

What for us is just an endless sky, for the dispatcher there are well-planned air routes. Like a highway junction. A specialty that requires great perseverance, attentiveness and composure. The air traffic controller coordinates the routes of aircraft in the sky and on the ground. An error in instructions to pilots is fraught with terrible disaster. The interaction between the aircraft and the airport is also under the control of the control room.

Air traffic controllers earn 60 thousand a month. They can also count on a very good social package (benefits, privileges). For example, after five years of work, an air traffic control officer can fly to anywhere in the world for free once a year. The work is hard, because dispatchers rarely work more than 36 hours a week, and there is a short break in their schedule every two hours.

An experienced air traffic controller can fly anywhere in the world once a year for free

2. Aircraft designer

One of the very rich interdisciplinary specialties. The physics of materials is essential for the development of an alloy from which an aircraft will be created. The laws of aerodynamics will give the car an optimal shape. Radio engineering will deal with precision instruments, without which pilots and dispatchers will not be able to control the aircraft. Even IT people have something to do: the autopilot and airport equipment help people avoid mistakes in their difficult and responsible work.

Developments for civil and military aviation do not differ much from each other. Therefore, most likely the aircraft designer will face a military secret. According to statistics from the trud.com portal, most of the vacancies for aircraft designers are located in Moscow, and the salary of specialists ranges from 50 to 100 thousand rubles.

3. Airport staff

IN big airports, like Domodedovo, more than 10,000 people work! This is a numerous service personnel for people and machines. About the existence of the majority of airport workers average passenger doesn't even realize.

There are specialists who monitor the transportation of goods and passengers. Airports are also in constant need of drivers, equipment operators, and managers. Separate large group serves people landing strips. They must be free, regularly lit with signal lights, and cleared of dirt and ice.

According to the information on the website Domodedovo airport, for employment at the airport, work experience is not required, and for some specialties, for example, a territory maintenance engineer, you can get a job immediately after graduation - you will be taught everything you need on the spot.

The salary of airport employees starts from 35 thousand rubles for those who do not require higher or secondary special education and have almost no upper bar.

Where to go to study: aviation universities and flight schools

Let's group everything about aviation specialties by interests: I want to fly, I want to design flight equipment, I want to work at the airport. Let's go!

I want to get a job at the airport without specialized education

The list of vacancies for administrative staff also offers many options where specialized education is not required. You can get closer to aviation right after school after on-site training, during which the airport usually pays a scholarship.

How to get to know the profession better?

Working in the aviation industry will require a lot of dedication from you. In order not to experience disappointment from deceived expectations, choose a profession thoughtfully. We have put together a few tips for you to help you get to know aviation better.

1. Virtual simulations and video games
You can join the work of a pilot on the example of flight simulators. Most Played Video Games - Series Microsoft Flight Simulator for future civil aviation pilots. Military aviation is represented in IL-2 Sturmovik And Digital Combat Simulator.

2. Movies
There are a lot of films about aviation. Soviet cinema has something to tell about the heroes of the Great patriotic war: “Only old men go into battle”, “Keys to Heaven”, “The Tale of a Real Man”. Modern films about the complexities of the pilot's profession - "Crew", "Miracle on the Hudson", "Ghost".

Shot from the film "Miracle on the Hudson". Starring Tom Hanks.

3. Books
The most reliable books about pilots are, perhaps, their autobiographies. For example, “Memoirs of a military pilot” by Stepan Mikoyan. Fiction with detailed description life of the airport and a gripping plot - the novels of Arthur Hailey. "Airport" and " Runway strip 08" will not leave indifferent even those who are not going to connect their lives with aviation.

4. Excursions
Airports and airlines are also interested in hiring enthusiasts, so they conduct excursions to acquaint future employees with their place of work. For example, in the Vnukovo training center, schoolchildren will not only be told about the history of the terminal, but they will also be shown the work of the staff from the inside and will be allowed to test their pilot skills on the Tu-154 aircraft simulator.

An airport is far from an ordinary building that provides takeoff and landing of aircraft, in fact, it is a whole system, from functionality which depends on security, service level, etc. Tens of thousands of people work at airports, and every day the number of specialists intending to get a job there continues to grow. Today, quite often you can catch a genuine interest in what salary is at the airport.

The salary at the airport primarily depends on who you are by profession and on what position you hold. Despite this, it should be noted that in order for the specialists to perform their work efficiently and as quickly as possible, the airport management deliberately increases the wages of its employees. It should be noted that the salary at the airport depends on the responsibility of the employee - if you need to be regularly responsible for technical condition systems of the airport complex, check the operability of airport equipment, ensure flight safety, it can be assumed that wages in this case will be very high.

So, a driver working directly on the territory of the airport claims, as a rule, 40-45 thousand rubles, while an environmental engineer working in a position has every reason to receive more than 70 thousand rubles. This is a very real wage capital airports, however, the question may certainly arise about what is the salary at the airport located in regions remote from the capital? In this case, everything primarily depends on the activities of the airport. If the air transport hub is popular with Russian and foreign airlines, dozens of flights are made from it every day, then it is quite reasonable to talk about high wages. So, engineering and technical personnel holding a certain position can receive from 30 thousand rubles, but it all depends on the specific specialization and position held. As a rule, at such airports, the salary rarely exceeds the limit of 50 thousand rubles, but the salary of ordinary personnel will be even less.

What is the salary at foreign airports? Here, to a greater extent, everything depends on your experience and professionalism, and in the event that we consider large European airports, then the salary here fluctuates between 3-4 thousand euros, however, if we are talking about the salary of persons holding a certain position, then we are already talking about 8-10 thousand dollars.

Many people dream of working at an airport. It is not surprising, because everyone associates this word with long-distance travels, interesting meetings, beautiful surroundings and, of course, good earnings. Those who work at the airport always have some privileges, even if they are simple technical workers.

A large number of people want to be in the place of the pilots. But this requires not only special education, but also a good knowledge of at least one foreign language.

So who can work at the airport for people without specials. training? Further, the main types of activities for which the qualification of a civil aviation pilot is not required will be considered.

Airport Services

This group of employees also needs appropriate education, without which you will definitely not be accepted.

Aircraft takeoff, flight and landing professions:

  • dispatcher for coordination of air and ground traffic;
  • flight attendant;
  • air navigation specialist;
  • supervisor;
  • navigator.

This is one of the highest paid professions, but, at the same time, the most stressful. A candidate for this position needs to have great self-control, strong nerves and excellent organization.

Specialties that do not require aviation training

List of positions for which the qualification of an engineer is required:

  • maintenance manager;
  • engineer for low-voltage and signal equipment;
  • equipment maintenance engineer;
  • fixer;
  • technical inspector.

These professions cannot be called stressful, but they require a lot of responsibility, because a lot depends on the health of the equipment. Engineering knowledge will be useful for work in the section of information systems and telecommunications. There is always a need for competent programmers and radio technicians.

Administrative work:

For the following group of employees serving passengers, higher education is not required, but knowledge of foreign languages is required, at least one:

  • passenger check-in agent;
  • escort agent;
  • receptionist;
  • passenger service administrator;
  • baggage handler.

Work without special training

If you do not have sufficient knowledge, then you should not despair anyway. Here is a list of professions that do not require special skills, except maybe a driver's license:

  • driver;
  • loader;
  • porter;
  • storekeeper.

Security Service

The specialists of this group provide not only corporate, but also transport security of all services. It is they who are responsible for controlling the transport of prohibited substances, as well as for anti-terrorist protection.

This group includes:

  • rapid response team;
  • customs control inspectors;
  • aviation security specialists;
  • pass printing operators;
  • cynologists;
  • specialists in fire and environmental safety.

The work is very dangerous, but it pays well. Also, security guards always enjoy additional bonuses.

List of "women's" professions

When asked about who a girl can work at the airport, most often you can hear the word "stewardess". After all, the profession of a flight attendant is still considered very prestigious.

Applicants will need excellent knowledge of at least one foreign language. Airlines themselves conduct flight attendant training, which lasts 3-4 months. Also, girls are subject to strict requirements regarding appearance and accuracy.

This has many advantages - flights to distant countries, communication with famous people, purchases in dutyfree and other benefits. But these are also significant disadvantages, because the stewardess is rarely at home. In addition, unforeseen and dangerous situations may arise during the flight.

Work without risk

For those who do not have a model appearance and want to find a job that does not require much risk, it is better to pay attention to the following positions:

  • customs declarant;
  • marketer;
  • clerk;
  • personnel manager;
  • accounting worker;
  • waitress;
  • barmaid.

These are not all positions available at the airport. The article reflected only a small part of them. In conclusion, one can only give advice with the words of a famous poet: “All works are good - choose according to your taste!”

I must say right away that I will not name the airport, but it is located in the EU.

How did I get there

I never even dreamed of going to the airport. It seemed to me that only their own people are taken there and everything is very, very difficult.

Once I came across an advertisement where employees were required for the position of "aviation security inspector". Responsibilities: checking hand luggage and checked baggage, controlling passengers and airport employees. That's what it said in the ad. As it was in practice, I will tell a little later.

Sent motivation letter and summary. A week later they called and invited me for an interview. It was held in three languages (including English). All those who passed the interview went to take tests the next day - language, logic, speed, ability to distinguish colors and objects. They also gave pictures of bags from x-rays, in which in 4 seconds it was necessary to find a knife or a gun.

Education

Further training, which lasted three weeks. Before the courses, I had to go through a medical examination at my own expense, get a certificate from a narcologist and a psychiatrist. At this stage, people were weeded out, because not everyone has so much money for initial stage work. You don't even know if you'll end up getting the job. General expenses - 100 euros.

By the way, the check-in has a two-week course. Some only have a couple of days. The courses were paid, from 9 to 17 on weekdays. There was an introductory course on aviation in general, terms, prohibited items and dangerous substances were passed. They talked about the airport system, premises, security system, other departments, etc. Written test every two or three days. In the course of the courses, people were eliminated, because they did not have time to absorb the material. They talked a lot about terrorism, accidents related to aircraft. They showed various videos from airport cameras, commented on them.

Integration

All those who successfully passed the tests became trainees for three weeks. Each had its own head of practice. In fact, we were a shadow. That is, they completely repeated everything that the leader told, did what they say. In fact, this is a very important stage, because at this moment you understand whether you even want to work in this position.

Now you can already tell what an "aviation security inspector" actually is. This is a person who:

1. Works in the terminal on the fast track, ticket control in front of it, in the terminal on the lines. Simply put, this is the one who asks you to remove all things, sits at the x-ray or near the arch.

2. There are also posts. For example, in the VIP center of the airport, and business aviation terminals, where there are only private jets, on non-standard checked baggage, etc.

During the practice, the scheme of checking people with their hands is "honed" - those who had an arch signal. At the beginning of training for me, this was the most unpleasant part, but then you get drunk. At our airport, women were checked by women, men by men.

pros

There is always a lunch break - an hour. The staff has its own kitchen (each department has its own), a recreation area, classrooms, nous, various Board games. There are water coolers everywhere.

You can work on the lines with gloves, which are available in unlimited quantities. Rubber, like doctors, or rag. I worked exclusively in gloves. You would know how dirty people's suitcases are! After the fifth bag, the hands are all black. Plus, when you open the bag, you can cut yourself. A colleague once cut her hand on a razor that was in a suitcase. There are hand sanitizers and a first aid kit on each line.

A stable salary (although they saved a lot on us), everything is official. Every employee had insurance. The dentist was paid 50 percent.

Chip flights. A certain airline (not a low-cost carrier) offered tickets to airport employees for 30 euros one way. Business class - 150. Any point in the world where this airline flies.

Issued a complete set of uniforms. Four shirts - two with short sleeves and two with long sleeves. Also a tie, trousers, a skirt, a vest, a jacket and shoes with heels. Dry cleaning at the expense of the employer.

Free transport to and from work.

Very romantic work. I really miss her. I'm thinking about returning, but to a higher position.

Minuses

They paid really little. Enough only to pay the bills and eat.

Physically difficult work. Constantly on heels, you can rarely sit down. Thousands of passengers pass every day and everyone thinks that they are special.

Lots of shifts, few days off. And the only thing that excites is sleep. At the end of the work, I was not interested in relationships, parties or travel.

Passengers

Very, very different. The most difficult thing was to work with passengers from Russia. I really do not want to offend anyone, but for me it was just a tragedy. After flights to Moscow, I got tired the most. Many speak only (!) Russian. They were rude to colleagues who did not understand Russian or spoke very poorly. They were reluctant to open their bags and wrote complaints all the time.

Most of the passengers from Scandinavia were well over 65, all with metal prostheses. They always had to be additionally checked by hand.

Many men don't really know what's in their bags because their wives have collected them. There are also those who bring tons of cosmetics to their wife, perfumes, clothes. Of my things, only shorts, a T-shirt and shaving foam :)

Passenger options

If you have a disability, your arm or leg is broken, you can’t see or hear, there is an agent service at the airports who will take you to the important gate for FREE, help you carry bags, etc. If you have a broken leg or are in a wheelchair, the agent will provide you with a wheelchair free of charge and will be your escort. It is best to inform about the need for this agent at the check-in.

You can also use the fast track service for free if you have a disability or have limited mobility.

If you are wearing religious clothing or jewelry, for ethical reasons, you have the right not to take off before passing through the archway, but be prepared that then you can be checked by hand or in the individual screening room.

You can take liquids for children with you and carry them as hand luggage. There are no restrictions. The only condition is that your child is not 15 years old and there is no whiskey and cola in the bottle. The fluid may be scanned or the child may be asked to taste it.

ALL GOOD!

Updated on 19/07/16 22:46:

About selected items

If scissors were taken away from you, or, for example, a very expensive but exceeding the norm cream, then you don’t have to say goodbye to it :) separate fee on check-in will be packed in a box as luggage) or left in the airport storage room
