Where is the calm sea in Bali. The best beaches in Bali for swimming

If you are preparing for a trip to Bali, then you have probably already heard that local beaches are more suitable for surfing than for a relaxing beach holiday on a sun lounger. The location of the island is such that it is almost always subject to the “invasion” of waves. The Bali shores are high cliffs, like walls protecting from the wildness of the sea. Therefore, before the trip, it is important to decide in which part of the island to spend your vacation. Only in some parts of the island there are calm beaches of Bali for swimming, which are suitable for a quiet holiday relaxation and calm family vacation with splashing kids. And in this article I will share a personal selection of such beaches.

Most of the beaches without waves are located at the southernmost tip of Bali - on the Bukit Peninsula. Usually sold here. package tours in Russian travel agencies. Sometimes cheaper options offer a trip to Kuta, but this is clearly not the kind of beach where you can safely swim in the sea. Therefore, first we will take a closer look at the best beaches in Bali for swimming in the Bukit area, and then in other parts of the island.

Nusa Dua beach in Bali

If you are thinking about a trip to Bali, then definitely choose Nusa Dua. This is one of the most popular beaches with the best hotels on the island. The water here is turquoise, there are practically no waves, a wonderful entrance to the sea, and the sand is the softest. Holidays in Nusa Dua will be truly relaxing.

If you are traveling on your own, then it is not necessary to choose hotels on the first line. The beach is absolutely free and not fenced in anything, so you can go to it not only for guests of the nearest hotels, but also for those who settled further away. But, of course, living near the sea is a great pleasure, although not cheap.

I recommend that you always look for discounts and compare prices before booking a hotel through HotelLook, a hotel search engine from the famous AviaSales brand. Sometimes you can find hotels in Bali with a discount of up to 50% on it!

Perhaps the only drawback of this beach is that during the holidays you can get quite tired of “doing nothing”. Many tourists do not get further than Nusa Dua and its environs, so their impressions of Bali remain rather blurry.

In order not to become a victim of boredom, I advise you to pay attention to day trips around the island with a Russian-speaking guide - and. Or you can plan your own stay in different parts of Bali to see it from all angles and soak up its magical atmosphere. Be sure to stop for 2-3 days in and get to the volcanoes near.

Geger Beach Bali

The locals single out the southernmost part of Nusa Dua as a separate beach called Geger, although in fact both beaches stretch along one whole. coastline. Accordingly, the beaches are very similar in appearance. At least the type of sand, the color of the water, and the lack of big waves they are clearly united, and the general atmosphere on the beaches is identical.

But on Heger fewer people and only a few hotels, and therefore the rest here will be quieter and not crowded. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle and a large number of people, then Geger will perfect place for vacation.

Pandawa Beach in Bali (Pandawa Beach)

One of the most unusual beaches in Bali. Its distinctive feature is the expressive rocks that separate the Pandava from the road and the entire island with a wall. The locals call this beach Kutuh Beach. It is especially suitable for those who are looking for Bali beaches for swimming with children, because. calm sea without waves, convenient entry into the water and white sand, from which various locks are molded so cool, will please both the child and his parents.

If you settle a little deeper from Pandawa beach, you can find beautiful inexpensive options accommodation in the price category from 1000 rubles. per day, you can see them on Booking.com. But if you want to live in this area with a sea view, then this option is offered at the luxurious villas Pandawa Cliff Estate and Villa Karang Putih, which are located on a cliff. Accommodation in them is especially suitable for honeymooners and couples.

White Sand Beach

If you are looking for white sand beaches in Bali, then this beach fully reflects its name. The sand on it is really the whitest and softest, like flour. Generally for east coast this is quite rare, because on the beaches nearby, on the contrary, sand black as soot crunches underfoot - the result of the neighborhood with the Agung volcano.

For most tourists, this beach is secret, because it is not crowded. White Sand Beach is characterized by beauty, tranquility and lack of big waves. There are cafes with freshly squeezed juices and cocktails, sun loungers for relaxing, and in the sea you can swim with a mask, looking at tropical marine life. There are no hotels near White Sand Beach, you will have to get here by your own transport.

Jimbaran beach Bali

One of the few beaches West Bank Bali, where the sea is relatively calm. Of course, there are waves here, but they are much smaller than in neighboring Kuta, Seminyak or Legian, and the bottom is good and the depth near the coast is shallow. Accordingly, you can safely swim without fear of touching the bottom with your foot, and swimming on Jimbaran will be accessible for children. Although I advise you to go here all the same with older children, and not quite kids.

Jimbaran has a fairly developed infrastructure with an abundance of restaurants and hotels for every taste. Again Jimbaran is relatively close to everything important places and getting from here to various attractions of the island is clearly easier than from the very south of Bali.

In addition, the advantage is that holidays on Jimbaran are often cheaper than in Nusa Dua and other beaches of Bukin. Due to the long coastline, there are many hotels for every budget. But at the same time, the crowds of tourists on the beach are not particularly felt due to the fact that everyone somehow dissolves along the coast. You can always find a secluded corner to relax.

As a conclusion, I note that whatever one may say, the most beautiful beaches in Bali for swimming and relaxing are located in the south of the island. Of course, there is White Sand Beach to the east and Jimbaran to the west, but these are the exceptions rather than the general rule. western beaches are more suitable for surfing, and eastern ones for snorkeling. Accordingly, when planning a trip, I recommend looking for hotels in the south of the Bukit Peninsula.

The best beaches in Bali are the perfect place for relaxation, meditation, relaxing holidays and extreme entertainment. To spend your holidays here, on one of the most beautiful islands Indonesia is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world. The beaches of Bali are pure sand or snow-white pebbles, picturesque landscapes, high cliffs and an amazingly beautiful ocean, the color of the water in which amazes with the number of shades. Many of the island's beaches are unsuitable for swimming due to high waves and ripple currents that can carry swimmers into the ocean, but there are also beautiful beaches where the sea is relatively calm and comfortable.

white sand

The beach got its name due to the white sand, which was brought here on purpose to ennoble the territory and attract travelers. Over time, the sand was washed out and at present the coast has a more grayish tint, and sometimes there are completely black areas.

White Sand cannot be called an equipped beach, although sun loungers and umbrellas are installed on its territory. Rather, it is wild, and no one particularly monitors the cleanliness of the coastline. In different parts of the coastline, you can see algae washed ashore by waves, as well as cacti lying on the ground, falling from a sheer cliff.

On the right side of White Sand there is a coral reef that attracts fans of scuba diving and watching the underwater world. The sea is calmer than on other beaches, but there are still waves. You can have lunch or just a snack in several cafes right on the beach, which are owned by the residents of Candidasa. An automobile highway leads from Sanur to the beach, turning from it towards Chandidasa, you will have to drive several kilometers off-road.

"Fabulous beach! Very beautiful coast! The sand is not white, but it is still more pleasant to relax here than on other beaches in Bali. The locals are very sociable, trying to play with the children of vacationers. Everything in the cafe is very expensive.

Jemeluk Bay

The beach is located next to the village of the same name in a picturesque bay. This is one of the best diving spots in Bali. There are many coral reefs that attract scuba divers with their beauty and unusualness.

The entire beach of Jemeluk Bay is covered with small white pebbles. Its territory is not too large, but it allows you to comfortably sit on a sunbed or mattress, which are rented locals. The ocean in this part of the coast is quite quiet. Strong waves are quite rare.

Near the beach there are the necessary objects of tourist and resort infrastructure: rental of equipment for water entertainment, hotels, cafes, shops, parking. Due to the fact that the sea in this place is calm, and there are almost no significant low tides, the coastline is not littered with algae and other debris. Calm water is very clear, and swimming in it is a pleasure.

“We really enjoyed relaxing on this beach. The pebbles are small, you can walk without shoes, there were no strong waves, the sea is calm and clean. Standing in the water, you see your legs and the bottom. Excellent service at cafes nearby. We tried all kinds of seafood. I recommend this small but very cozy beach.”

dreamland

Locals say that once a traveler from Italy, a professional surfer, rested on this beach. He was so struck by the tall emerald-colored waves approaching the sandy shore that he decided to call it "Dreamland".

Dreamland is quite a popular beach with tourists. Pleasant sand for walking and a rapidly developing infrastructure allow you to relax comfortably, enjoying scenic view ocean. The beach is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas that can be rented. Near the beach and on its territory, vacationers can eat in a cafe and restaurant, order drinks in several bars.

You can rarely see swimmers here. The wave is too high to be safe in the water. But the beach traditionally attracts surfers. Near Dreamland there is a large hotel where you can stay, as well as several bungalows and villas for rent. You can get to the beach by road following the signs from the city of Kuta.
The journey will take about half an hour.

“A great beach to spend time in nature, sunbathe and relax. The chairs are comfortable and the umbrellas are big. Swimming here is unrealistically difficult, as the wave covers you with your head. They say that the sea is calmer at low tides, but we did not manage to catch this phenomenon.

green bowl

Incredibly beautiful beach of dark golden sand on the Bukit Peninsula. The narrow coastal strip is under high rock, and several hundred steep steps lead to the beach. For swimming, this beach is considered very dangerous. It's all about the breaking wave, which often occurs in the coastal zone of the ocean. Its peculiarity is that a strong current draws a person into a wide channel and can carry it into the open ocean.

Green Bowl is a wild beach, not devoid of some resort charms that are located on top of a cliff. Here tourists are met by enterprising Balinese selling souvenirs, selling various drinks and food. This beach is preferred by lovers of relaxation away from civilization, as well as surfers who use the rip current to get on the line up.

At high tide, the coast is completely covered by the waters of the ocean, and at this time you cannot rest here. But the golden sand quickly dries up at low tide and is ready to receive tourists again. The best way to get to the beach is by car or even by bike. From Kuta, a trip by road will take 35-40 minutes.

“We came to this beach out of curiosity. We were told that monkeys walk around here, there are a lot of surfers and the ocean is incredibly beautiful. The information has been confirmed. While descending from the cliff along a huge number of steps, we saw enough of wild monkeys. There are a lot of surfers though. You can only admire the ocean, it is impossible to swim here because of the high wave, and it is even forbidden.”

Bias Tegul

Bias Tegul Beach is located near the port of Padangbai. To find it, you need to go through a small forest grove. The secluded beach is perfect for swimming and relaxing. It is also called secret because of the location hidden from human eyes.

The beach is covered with soft, pleasant to the touch sand. Despite the proximity to the port, which is constantly visited by ships, the water here is crystal clear. Every now and then a snow-white line of foam, which is created by a soft wave, slowly rolls up to the shore.

There are several warungs on the beach - thatched roof cafes where locals cook and sell food. The beach has an interesting feature. The rocks located on the shore have small caves into which water regularly enters. Squeezed out by the accumulated air, it crumbles into a fountain of spray, rising several meters in height - an incredible sight.

Even at the peak of the season there are not many tourists here. The beach is quite difficult to find, making your way from the port along a narrow mountain path.

“Gorgeous beach with fine light sand and very beautiful scenery. Surrounded by mountains, it seems to be hiding from prying eyes so that tourists do not find it and violate such beauty. The water here seemed a little colder than on other beaches, but, getting used to it, we splashed in plenty!

Kuta

One of the best beaches in Kuta. It is famous for its long golden sandy coastline. A lot of tourists always rest here, who want to soak up the hot Indonesian sun and enjoy clean, warm water.

Kuta Beach stretches along the coast for 8 km. Its strip is wide enough to accommodate many sun loungers with umbrellas, which are arranged in several rows. Excellent infrastructure attracts here not only foreigners vacationing in Kuta, but also its residents.

You can surf on the beach. The art of boarding on the waves is taught by experienced instructors. For a small fee, you can go to a massage parlor, of which there are several dozen on the beach, or order drinks in bars.

Runs along the coast city embankmentfavorite place tourists walks. There is everything that vacationers may need - cafes, restaurants, shops, souvenir shops. Kuta Beach is famous for its magnificent sunsets, which tourists specially come to see.

“We rested in Kuta and visited this beach several times. Very large, but there are a lot of tourists, so you need to come early to find a free sunbed. Merchants are very annoying, they do not care that you are lying and sunbathing with your eyes closed, they stop and offer their products. But the beach itself is very beautiful, clean and comfortable.”

Mengiat

The beach is located on the south coast of Bali. A wide sandy strip stretching along the coast attracts many tourists. From Kuta, you can come here by bus or by renting a car or bike.

Mengiat is a clean, equipped beach with excellent infrastructure. Despite its popularity among foreign holidaymakers, it is not as crowded as Kuta's beaches. You can always find a free sunbed and stay on it by paying a small rent.

The sea on this beach is calm and comfortable for swimming throughout the high tourist season. It is protected from strong waves by a large number of coral reefs. From the shore, the sea has an unusually beautiful color - a mixture of azure and emerald. Garbage and algae are carefully removed by the staff. On Mengiat you can engage in active water activities, have lunch or a light snack in a cafe, use the services of massage parlors.

“A wonderful place to relax on the beach, sunbathe and swim without feeling discomfort. The sea is very beautiful, the entrance is not too steep, and in some parts of the beach it is quite gentle, which allows children to splash around.

Jimbaran Beach

One of the best beaches in south Bali. He is in beautiful bay with picturesque views, modern hotels and villas. A fairly wide coastline allows you to comfortably accommodate a large number of tourists and vacationers. The length of the beach is over 5 km.

The entrance to the sea on the entire beach is very gentle, and the depth near the coast is small, which allows not only adults, but also children to enjoy water activities. The bottom is very clean and sandy. The cleanliness and order on the beach itself is carefully monitored. There is no trash here.

Jimbaran Beach and its vacationers are served by several restaurants and cafes located on the shore. You can sit in the shade of the awnings or order food directly to the sun lounger. Basically, they cook dishes from seafood, which fishermen rent to restaurants. In the early morning you can see them returning with their catch. Fans of boat trips can use the services of local residents who will arrange a tour of the smooth surface of the sea on their own boats.

“Great place for a family vacation. We rested in a hotel near the beach and enjoyed this beauty every day. The sea is calm, clean, the beach is spacious, equipped. Entrance for hotel guests was free. I liked that if you wish, they will immediately bring you drinks or food from local cafes.

Balangan

The beach is located on the Bukit Peninsula near the city of Jimbaran. It is a narrow sandy strip along the coast 700 meters long. In the northern part of the beach, a high rock deepens into the ocean, on which wedding photo shoots often take place. Balangan is a popular surf slot.

Even at the peak of the season, there are not too many vacationers on the beach. Mostly guests of local hotels sunbathe here, less often - visitors. Along the coast, you can see many warungs where seafood is cooked. Climbing the mountain along the stone steps, vacationers get to a picturesque area where there are several hotels and villas.

Swimming in Balangan is not very convenient due to high waves. On rare days, when the water is calmer, tourists splash around the shore, but such entertainment is considered quite dangerous, especially since there are no lifeguards on the beach. Most comfortable place for swimming - the northern part of the beach near the cliff. The sand on the coastline is fine and clean. There are sun loungers and umbrellas for the convenience of vacationers.

“Take the time to travel and be sure to visit this beach. Even when descending from the mountain, you can see the entire coastal strip - long, with yellow sand, it curves in an arc, as if hugging the ocean. There are many inexpensive warungs on the beach where you can have a hearty lunch. Swimming is difficult, but it is very interesting to watch the surfers.”

Padangbai Beach

A small cozy beach surrounded by rocks with lush green vegetation. The entire coastline is pure white sand. Padangbai Beach is rightfully considered one of the best beaches in Bali, where you can relax and spend time. In addition, this is a popular surf slot for both experienced surfers and beginners.

There are several warungs along the coastline that cook and sell dishes from fresh seafood caught in the ocean in the morning. You can also order drinks here. Rescuers are watching closely.

The water in the ocean is often calm, long waves slowly roll onto the shore. Swimming is better on the left side of the shore. There are no umbrellas or sunbeds on the beach. Vacationers are located right on the sand, on rugs and towels brought with them.

Padangbai Beach is famous for the fact that several episodes of the famous film "More Pray, Love" with Julia Roberts were filmed on it. After the release of the movie, Padangbai Beach became even more popular. For those who do not like a lot of people on the beach, it is best to come here in the morning and afternoon hours.

“The water is warm, the waves are low, the sand is fine, pleasant. A wonderful beach in a cozy bay with a beautiful landscape. Swimming is not always possible, but we managed to enjoy plenty of clear water of an unusually beautiful color. Only pleasant impressions!

Bali welcomes tourists all year round. There are no four seasons familiar to Europeans. In the winter months, the weather is as comfortable as in the summer months, but this is the time of the rainy season. Showers are short-term and most often occur in the evening and at night. The most popular period for travelers is from May to October. The air temperature at this time is kept at +33 degrees, and the water warms up to +26. This best months to not only spend time on picturesque beaches but also get to know the local culture.

Bali is famous for its beaches, there are several dozen of them. However, not all can be considered for swimming. Most of the beaches are in demand among surfers and are absolutely not suitable for water procedures. Therefore, especially for you, I have made a selection of the best beaches on the island, which are relatively calm. There are favorable conditions for recreation even with small children.

This is one of the most famous beaches in the southern part of the resort. It combines unique nature, warm ocean water and magnificent hotels. Thousands of tourists from all over the world come here every year. The name of the beach is translated as "two islands". Near it are the islands of Peninsula and Nusa Dharma.

Tourism on the beach began to develop only in the 70s of the last century. This project was achieved through joint efforts. local population and foreign investors. The resort began to develop rapidly, the desert territories turned into closed areas of the beach, near which they began to build luxury hotels and shopping and entertainment centers.

Nusa Dua Beach is 3 kilometers long. It is famous for its clean yellow sand and gently sloping ocean entrance. The tourist infrastructure is well developed here, and the water in the ocean pleases with an azure color. Near the coast there is a coral reef, which serves as a barrier from strong waves.

Within the beach there are excellent conditions for families with children. Hotel staff regularly monitor the order on the coastline, a sufficient number of sunbeds and umbrellas are installed. In the central part of the beach there are many themed restaurants where you can taste real culinary masterpieces of national cuisine. However, the prices are a little high.

Some of the best hotels to stay include:

Geger beach

The beach is located on the Bukit Peninsula. Near the coast there is a coral reef that acts as a breakwater. It protects the coast from strong winds, which allows even small children to swim in the ocean. Waves sometimes happen, but they gently roll on the coast and do not bring any discomfort to vacationers.

The entrance to the water is gentle. The sand on the beach is light, consists of large grains of sand. The bottom near the shore is also sandy, there are no stones and shells. The high transparency of the water and the rich underwater world allow you to surf and explore the local beauty.

There are no large crowds of people on Geger, unlike Nusa Dua. The beach infrastructure is well developed. Along the coast there are umbrellas and sun loungers, which can be rented for an additional fee.

Due to the fact that a fishing village is located nearby, boats and ships are often seen on the horizon. Among the minuses is also a large amount of algae that it takes out of the ocean. Especially their number increases in the rainy season.

Most of the hotels are concentrated on the first coastline. The best include:

nikko beach

The beach is located on the Bukit Peninsula, a few steps from Geger and Nusa Dua. This is a classic beach in the southern part of Bali. The coastal line is covered with snow-white sand, and the purest water creates the most favorable conditions for water procedures. To get to the shore, you need to go along a small cliff, at the top of which there is a parking lot.

Nikko Beach pleases with its picturesque landscapes. From the shore you can admire the views of the volcano, the main beauty of which opens in the morning. Often, newlyweds arrange wedding photo shoots on the beach. The coastline is famous for its cleanliness, there are two piers.

The waves near the shore are almost imperceptible, besides, the ebbs and flows are imperceptible on Nikko. Locals advise swimming during high water. There may be undercurrents further from the coast, so leaving your children unattended is not recommended. There are no hotels on the beach, a good option can be booked on neighboring Nusa Dua. Among them:

Padang Padang Beach

Another beach where you can safely go to relax with children of any age. He is famous safe conditions for swimming and well-developed infrastructure. The entrance to the ocean is gentle, there are no sharp jumps and drops, which provides peace of mind for parents and opportunities for swimming for children.

The beach became especially popular after the famous film “Eat. Pray. Love”, since it was here that several beautiful episodes from the film were filmed. In this regard, every guest of the island tries to visit the coast.

The beach is also attractive for surfers. Both beginners and experienced athletes come here. Padang Padang hosts the Rip Curl Padang Padang surfing competition every year.

To get to the shore, you need to go through a picturesque gorge. The coast consists of light sand, the water in the ocean is azure, the entrance to the water is smooth and calm. Waves are observed only in July, but they do not reach the shore.

The beach is small, so sometimes you get the impression that it is crowded. There are no sun loungers, only umbrellas are installed on the shore, which can be rented for 100 thousand rupees per day. Therefore, to sit on the sand, do not forget to grab a mat or towel. Entrance to the beach is paid, the cost is 10,000 rupees per person.

Personally, I really liked the beach, despite the large number of tourists and paid entrance. It has become my favorite beach destination.

Pandawa beach

This is one of the youngest beaches; it has been open for tourists for only a few years. It is surrounded on all sides by a canyon, inside of which a road has been cut to the coast. The coast can be reached both by car and by bike. At the entrances there is an observation platform, which offers a breathtaking view of the entire Pandava beach.

The coastal strip is formed by light yellowish sand. There are not many plants, and those that are are concentrated in oases.

The water here is clean, has a turquoise hue. The bottom is clearly visible even at depth, which creates favorable conditions for snorkeling. Along the coast, the bottom is covered with coarse sand, a little further there are small stones, algae and corals. The ebbs and flows are strongly felt here. At high tide, the water can rise up to 1.5 meters.

The infrastructure is well developed. Umbrellas and sun loungers are installed (if you wish, you can always stay right on the sand), there are bio-toilets and showers. A little further from the coast there are cafes offering both national and European cuisine.

There are no hotels on the beach itself, they are located 15-20 minutes drive from the coast. Among them:

Sanur beach

The beach is located southeast of Denpasar, has a length of 5 kilometers. It is quite quiet, due to which pensioners and couples with children come here. It was from here that the development of the tourism industry in Bali as a whole began.

Not far from the coast there is a coral reef and several breakwaters. Due to this, a water area is created, reliably protected from strong waves. Sand along the shore of artificial origin. It was specially brought here for tourism purposes.

The entrance to the ocean is gentle, the ebbs and flows are felt here. The water is light green in color, a little further from the shore there are algae in it. Therefore, it is not very comfortable for an adult to swim.

On the territory of Sanur there are no hotels with private beaches, they are all public. The infrastructure is represented by sun loungers, umbrellas, toilets, changing rooms and showers. There are many restaurants and cafes along the coast. The number of visitors increases in the late afternoon, when tourists come here to enjoy a romantic dinner.

Among the popular hotels are the following:

  • The Alantara Sanur;

Bias Tugal Beach

You can often hear that the beach is called secret. It got its name due to the fact that it is surrounded by rocks on all sides. If you look from above, you have a view of the harbor and rocks, and if you don’t know that there is a coastal strip, then it will not be difficult to drive through the beach.

It's incredible here beautiful nature. Tropical vegetation reveals itself in all its glory against the backdrop of the turquoise ocean. Due to the fact that transport cannot drive up to the very shore, silence and tranquility reign here. The infrastructure on the beach is poorly developed. For vacationers, a small shed is installed, there are several cafes with light snacks and soft drinks, as well as a toilet. But you have to pay 5,000 rupees for it.

Mostly the ocean on the beach is calm and you can swim safely. But sometimes big waves rise, water floods almost the entire beach area and it becomes difficult to swim, sunbathe.

There are no hotels on the beach, the nearest ones are located 15-20 minutes walk from it:

  • Villa Manouria-Marcel;
  • Villa SuariI;

We met with you the best beaches for swimming in Bali. Most of them are well developed infrastructure and attracts travelers of all ages.

The beaches of Bali are not quite what tourists usually expect from them 😎 This is not the Maldives ... and there are not many Bounty-style beaches, you still need to look for them! More often people fly to a paradise island for the sake of surfing, nature and authenticity, rather than for a beach holiday. Therefore, before buying plane tickets, enter the coordinates the best beaches in Bali on the map maps.me and rent a bike or car

For the pioneers of beach Bali, I advise you to take private tour with a Russian guide

I will show photos of the beaches of Bali from two holidays - December 2016 and 2017. Recommendations are my subjective, good beaches there are more, but I didn’t go there for a tan, I devoted most of my time to the jungle, rice fields and simple rest. MY MAP OF BEACHES

WHITE SAND BEACHES IN SOUTHERN BALI

Jimbaran beach

It is located near the Denpasar airport, the sand is white, fine, the bottom is flat, no big waves were noticed. The temperature of the water in the ocean feels + 28. I advise you to choose the left side of the beach for swimming, in Google Maps it is Pantai Muaya , we parked the car for free next to the temple (-8.782889, 115.161914). By the way, drive in all the coordinates with a minus sign, since Bali is located below the equator. Sunbeds for the money, but we did not take. We sat down on chairs at the grandmother selling coconuts and beer. In the distance, the photo shows a luxurious bungalow. My photo with coconut was taken on Jimbaran beach

Jimbaran Beach is also known for its fish restaurants, they are located closer to its center, choose any one, looking into the aquariums with the catch inside the premises. People come to 17 to take the trump seats and enjoy the sunset (in winter it is at 18:30). The price tag for seafood and fish is average, but closer to European, but keep in mind + 15% tax and + for service.

To the right of the fish restaurants, the Denpasar airport runway is clearly visible, and planes land here every 5 minutes. They also sell corn here and musicians entertain guests with songs in all languages of the world. For us, the Balinese chose for some reason "A glass of vodka on the table." I paid them 50 thousand rupees (3 euros)

Pantai Tegal Wangi Jimbaran
There is a secluded wild cove very close ( -8.781397, 115.141482)🌊 Besides us, there were also several romantic couples hiding behind the rocks from the sun and spectators🌴☀ Andrei frolicked in the ocean, looked like a child, it was his first swim in the Indian Ocean 🏊

The coast there is rocky, I didn’t find a place for sunbathing and there were big waves, but the place is damn beautiful and wild. Maybe it's quieter at low tide.

Balangan beach
Balangan beach- one of the most photogenic beaches, so many wedding photographers hang out on the cape (-8.790441, 115.125056). The ceremonies are symbolic, with a wedding arch, a white dress - obviously only for the sake of a photo shoot.

If you go down to the beach from the opposite edge (-8.793569, 115.122900), then you will find yourself in a simple eatery, you can immediately rent a board. But the entrance to the sea here is unpleasant, let the photo with white sand fascinate you ... but there are a lot of boulders in the water, and the waves knock you off your feet. This place is more for surfing

I've been here twice, and I can't say that it's nice to swim. On the other side of the beach, we found a place where we could swim near the shore.

Beach in Canggu
We lived in this town for 5 days by booking a hotel room Sunset Villa Bali, which was deserted due to a recent volcanic eruption. For 800 rubles per day for 2 people we got complete privacy, comfort and a pool with a kitchen. Breakfast in the morning at Hungry Bird Coffee What a great cappuccino! By the way, using this link you will receive 20 euros as a gift for your first booking on Arnbnb.

We lived 7 minutes walk from Finns Beach Club, the beach there is long, there are many small bars where you can lie in exchange for juice, beer. The sand here is no longer white, but gray, but pleasant for walking. And swimming in Canggu is hard because of the big waves, but perfect place for surfing.

Andrey rented a board - 50 thousand rupees (3 euros) for 2 hours on Batu Balong Beach

A small video review of these beaches

Gala's Beach or Nikko Beach
These beaches are very close on the map), respectable hotels are located along the road. And it was the best beach in Bali, moreover, it was deserted, there were no waves near the ocean, white sand of coral origin was underfoot 🏜 We parked the car near the temple (-8.833364, 115.213052) and went down the steep steps.

We found a deserted cave to rest in the shade, where there were sunbeds from a luxury hotel 🏖and brazenly used them! We swam with a mask, collected shells, listened to the sound of the ocean waves 🌊🐚🐳 I never stopped thanking the Agung volcano for the deserted Bali in December 😘 If you compare my vacation in 2016 and in 2017, then the island then and now is heaven and earth! 👏 If you are afraid to drive a bike and a car on the island, I advise you to take an individual tour. Affordable accommodation near Nikko Beach - or the chic The Ritz-Carlton Bali

In slow motion, I made a video about the best beach in Bali, in our opinion

And I would like to say a few more words about worst beaches in Bali with white sand:

  1. Sanur beach! I didn’t even take a photo, there is a swamp, not the sea, swimming in shallow water with algae is still a pleasure. Don't waste your vacation in a retirement resort…
  2. Padang Padang beach, where they filmed the film "Eat, Pray, Love" (a report about it here). In the photo it seems that this is a heavenly place, but there were so many people that they did not get high. Muddy water, although the entrance is pleasantly gentle. Entrance is paid - 10 thousand rupees (70 euro cents), parking is paid, the cafe on the beach sucks, dirty. After visiting the crowded publicized tourist places in Bali, Andrey and I decided to travel only to little-known and natural beauties

In the video you will see a real picture from Padang Padang beach

Black sand beaches in Bali

Lipah beach in Amed
We went to the north of Bali not for the beaches, but for the silence and low prices. It's funny, but this region is underdeveloped, asphalt was laid only in the early 2000s. But we really liked the calm sea, however, it is a little colder indian ocean(maybe +26). We booked a room in Bayu Cottages Hotel for 12 euros for two with breakfast, and again we were alone! Of course, in season and not with an erupting volcano, it costs more 😜 The Bali Sea is ideal for swimming 🏊fishing 🎣snorkeling and diving. We rested on the Lipach beach, this is a secluded cove with an incredible underwater world! The color of the sand is black, it is very fine, but at the entrance to the sea there is white sand, so the water is clear.

If this is your first time booking on Arnbnb, use $25 off

The same Lipach beach sunny morning. Check out the transparency and calmness!

From Ubud we got here at least 2 hours along narrow roads and jungle, renting a car for 10 euros per day. I can also advise you to take an excursion to the north of Bali to see Amed, swim on the beach, visit water palaces and Lempuyang Temple overlooking. We saw him splashing in the hotel pool. From there you can see the sea, and it takes 15 seconds to go down to it.

The most interesting thing in Amed is snorkeling. We had our own mask and snorkel, but here every little boy offers them for rent. As are the boats. Also, for 300 thousand rupees (18 euros) you can go fishing at dawn. Diving enthusiasts also come here to dive to sunken ships.

The big plus of the north of Bali over the tourist south was cheap fish. Once bought from a fisherman from a boat for 50 thousand 3 pieces (3 euros). And then all the days they ate in Amed Resto, I ordered mackerel with rice and vegetables for only 2 euros

Beach at Les Village

In the Tejakula area, we settled in an amazing hotel with a diving center Sea Communities - Segara Lestari Villas, we got carried away by chance thanks to Arnbnby, after reading the reviews. In the Less Village, everything is fine - silence, the absence of tourists and the integrity of the locals, huge portions of food from the hostess for dinner, coconut, mango and rambutan plantations, the sound of the sea even in our room. But the beach is missing, although the black sand mixed with huge stones did not frighten the local kids, they swam. We lived in an eco-village for 5 days, and still we were satisfied with the "other Bali"

Lovina beach in Bali
The beaches in the north of Bali are generally not encouraging, civilized and suitable for swimming are few. We read about Lovina in the north of Bali, arrived, and there was a shallow, muddy and gray sea, the Sea of \u200b\u200bAzov ... We found a civilized swimming beach on the map - Spice Beach Club Bali, having paid as much as 3 euros for fresh watermelon, the sea here also did not please, but we used sunbeds and a toilet.

The locals pestered with renting boats to see dolphins, but I see them in Montenegro in the Tivat Bay, where our yacht is moored. We left Lovina for a swim in the hot springs.

Beaches for swimming in Bali in the east

Few of the tour package tourists realize that in the east of the island there are wonderful beaches with white sand and no waves. This is also the Bali Sea, not the ocean.

Blue Lagoon beach in Bali- this is a place from the category of "must see". The road from Ubud here is simple, there are few cars, the track is wide in places (-8.529756, 115.513304

This beach is located a 2-minute drive from the famous Padangbay Pier, from where boats leave for the paradise islands of Gili. We never got to them, but there the beach vacation is much more luxurious!

Secret beach in Bali or Bias Tugel Beach
It is located on the other side of Padangbay. Incredibly beautiful white sand beach, few people, silence and romantic atmosphere. Parking is free, then you need to make your way through the jungle along the path, it is better to be in shoes. I was there in 2016 - this is one of the best beaches in Bali without waves with a clear sea, which tourists know little about.

I hope that my stories about Bali and photos of the beaches will help organize your trip to the paradise island correctly 😄 Whatever the rumors about the beaches of Bali - that it is not possible to swim, they are dirty or suitable only for surfers - remember that you always have a choice, the main thing is the maps.me map on the phone, and under the booty is the seat of a bike or car 🚙 since there is no public transport on the island

Where to buy insurance in Bali - which is better

No one forces you to spend extra money on insurance in Bali, whether to buy it or not is your own business, they don’t check at the airport ... But remember that Indonesia has a different climate, water and food, almost everyone in Bali has an upset stomach from Indonesian kitchens. Here you can catch dengue fever with a bite of one type of mosquito and wallow with fever and vomiting for a week or two. And no one is immune from small accidents or falls from the bike, given the left-hand traffic and terrible traffic on the island.

I would recommend buying insurance in Bali from a company. Their assistance in Russia, Mondial, has recently changed its name to Allianz Global Assistance. Believe me, this is the most reliable in the insurance industry, the main office is in Paris. This is the only assistance with an “AA” rating from Standard & Poor’s, it is he who will save you on the island in insurance cases, as well as pay for your treatment. You can check the price of insurance in Bali in this form by entering the flight dates and the country of Indonesia.

Rainy season in Bali 2018

Winter is the rainy season in Bali, although we didn’t see them much, more often they come at night. The temperature is comfortable all year round and does not rise above +31, but it is humid. In the north of the island in the Amed region, it rains much less than in the center in the Ubud region, where the jungle is, due to the fact that volcanoes do not let clouds go north. In the south of the island, it also rains less often in winter than in Ubud, but the ocean is stuffy and hot.

It is better to fly to Bali in spring and early autumn, and in summer - the peak of the tourist season, there is little rainfall, but there are many tourists and high prices.

Tickets to Bali - how much does it cost to fly to the island

Please note that we did not fly from Moscow, but from Montenegro, and this is an additional plane, so the flight cost more. For two people, they spent 1,545 euros on Turkish Airlines for the Podgorica-Istanbul-Jakarta segment. Thanks to two hotels in transit, I consider this a low price, although Qatar Airways (from Belgrade) or Singapore Airlines (from Milan) were cheaper. And another 200 euros went back and forth from the capital of Indonesia to the Denpasar airport.

From Moscow, Kyiv, St. Petersburg and Belgrade, you can fly to Bali with Qatar Airways, Singapore or Emirates
