What to see and do in Nusa Dua. Open left menu nusa dua

In this article, I will talk in detail about Nusa Dua beach, the infrastructure of the area and give recommendations on choosing a hotel.

Nusa Dua is large area Bukit Peninsula in the south of Bali. For most, this name is associated, to a greater extent, with Nusa Dua Beach, as well as a closed tourist area where good five-star hotels are located - this article is devoted to this area and the beach.

Often on the Internet you can find reviews that Nusa Dua is not Bali, but a boring, closed tourist reservation, where there is absolutely nothing to do. This is partly true, of course, but only partly. If you want to immerse yourself in the atmosphere and culture of Bali as much as possible, then Nusa Dua is not the best option.

But if you are used to a high level of comfort and service, to good five-star hotels, you want to get the impressions of Bali in a dosed manner, in parallel with a relaxed and relaxing holiday on the beach, then Nusa Dua is a good choice.

The only thing you should not do at all is to come to Bali, settle in Nusa Dua and spend all the time there without leaving anywhere. Nusa Dua beach is quite good, by Balinese standards, but not perfect, and if your task is one hundred percent beach vacation, then it is better to choose another country for this - the Maldives, the Philippines, Thailand, etc.

Nusa Dua Beach is located on the Bukit Peninsula, in the very south of Bali. This is one of the closest resorts to the airport, from which toll road can be reached in 20 minutes. On the map, the large lilac polygon is the Nusa Dua area, Bali, and the small red polygon is the closed area and Nusa Dua beach.

Territory of Nusa Dua, Bali

The territory of Nusa Dua is closed, it can be accessed from several sides, and everywhere you need to pass through the checkpoint. Cars are inspected, they look into the trunk, sometimes motorcyclists are also slowed down - a couple of times we were asked where we were going, but most often we pass without stopping.

Nusa Dua is a small separate tourist world inside Bali. It is very clean and beautiful everywhere here, the territory is well-groomed, traffic is minimal, there are sidewalks and signs. In general, it is pleasant, comfortable and safe to be there.

The territory has its own huge Bali Collection shopping center, with shops, spas and restaurants (free shuttles run from many hotels to it); a very good BIMC hospital, the Museum Pasifika and even the Bali Nusa Dua Theater with a cool Devdan Show.

There are also several individual restaurants on site.

Almost all hotels in Nusa Dua are located along the beach. Since the beaches in Indonesia cannot be private, it looks like this - the hotel has its own territory, on which there are living quarters, swimming pools, most sun loungers and other infrastructure.

Through the walking path that runs along the whole of Nusa Dua, there is a section of the beach, on which there is also part of the hotel sun loungers

and the cleanliness of which is monitored by the staff of a particular hotel.

As a rule, outsiders are not allowed on the territory of the hotel, but anyone can sit on the beach. However, there are not so many strangers here, and there seem to be no merchants at all (at least we have never seen them).

Thus, it turns out that the three-kilometer Nusa Dua beach almost entirely consists of sections assigned to a particular hotel, and therefore, in general, it is very well-groomed.

True, in the morning, especially in the rainy season, garbage is washed ashore, and if you go to the beach before cleaning, you can find such an unsightly picture.

About one of beach clubs we saw how all this garbage was immediately buried in the sand! We hope that hotels do not do this, after all.

The beach is wide everywhere, from the water to the footpath almost everywhere about 50 meters.

The ocean water is clean and clear

the sand is not "floury", but not too coarse, yellow, with small, not sharp inclusions of fragments of shells, without large stones.

Near the shore it is quite shallow, at high tide there is enough depth, but at low tide in some places the bottom can be exposed quite strongly.

There is one lagoon on the beach, in which, even at low tide, a good depth is maintained near the coast and you can normally enter the water - see the section “Hotels in Nusa Dua” for more details.

Near the Ayodya Hotel there is one of the few non-hotel restaurants,

here you can eat, rent a sun lounger, there is also a shower.

Otherwise, almost all the infrastructure on Nusa Dua beach is the services provided by hotels. Some put out old, shabby wooden deck chairs on the beach, others - poufs with tables.

Some put chairs

gazebos,

or straw umbrellas.

Almost every hotel has its own options for water activities, but there are also a few third-party outlets where you can rent a surfboard or a kayak.

Nusa Dua beach is conditionally divided into three parts - northern, southern and city beach.

most southern part often singled out separately and called Geger beach, although in fact it is all one beach.

There are even fewer people here than on the Nusa Dua beach, and the sea is deeper, at low tide the water does not go so much, although there are sometimes waves near the shore.

Locals most often come to the city beach, I don’t see much point in going there. If you don’t live in Nusa Dua, then it’s still better to come to the beach to some hotel, it will be cleaner there than in the city.

Between the city beach and southern part Nusa Dua has a remarkable place Waterblow - a stone ledge on which waves roll and crash against the rock with noise,

it is pleasant to walk here under the refreshing salty splashes of the sea surf, take pictures,

and just enjoy the sunrise

Hotels in Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua, at first glance, seems very large space, but in fact there are only 13 hotels, 10 of which are located on the first line - this is what Nusa Dua beach looks like from above.

The hotels in the table are marked on the map with the corresponding numbers (from right to left). There are 10 hotels on the first line of Nusa Dua beach, and the last 2, the coolest and most expensive (The St. Regis and The Mulia) are located outside the closed territory of Nusa Dua (they have separate entrances on the other side), but, as you can see on the map, they are located on the same beach.

In principle, all the hotels on Nusa Dua beach are very good and it is rather difficult to recommend one, it all depends on personal preferences.

If the budget is not limited, then of course it makes sense to choose The St. Regis, in which the simplest room is a chic 100 sq. m., and the largest villa occupies more than 400 sq. m. The beach area next to the hotel is appropriate - very long, deserted and with sun loungers set at a distance of 50 meters.

Another cool, new, modern, stylish hotel, which is located at the very end of Nusa Dua beach, in an impassable place and with good depth in the sea, is The Mulia. Despite the fact that its beach, formally, is still public, it is separated from the rest by a fence and outsiders are very rarely there.

Simpler, but also very good hotels are Sofitel Resort and The Westin Resort.

If you want to find a middle ground and get the maximum for the minimum price, then I recommend paying attention to The Laguna and Inaya Putri hotels.

A significant plus of the last two is also the presence in the ocean of a small lagoon right between them (it is clearly visible on the map above, between points 7 and 8), where a decent depth is maintained even at low tide, so if it is critical for you to be able to swim in the ocean at any time of day, check out these hotels.

True, just in this place a road approaches the beach and between them there is a section of the beach where people come from outside. There is a restaurant and sun loungers for rent, ie. if you do not live in a hotel in Nusa Dua, then this is where you can come to swim.

Many Indonesian islands are fabulously beautiful, and Bali is certainly one of the most amazing and interesting corners countries. However, its popularity among travelers is associated with a well-designed and successfully implemented large-scale development program. tourism infrastructure operated by BTDC Corporation.

After all, no matter how beautiful the landscapes, no matter how unique the culture of the inhabitants, no matter how rich the animal and vegetable world Bali, tourists accustomed to a certain level of comfort would never rush into the island in a powerful wave.

About the resort

During the implementation of the program, the Nusa Dua area (more precisely, Benoa), located on east coast Bukit peninsula in the south of Bali, where the best island resort. Distance from Ngurah Rai Airport is about 20 km and takes no more than half an hour.

This place is highly recommended to anyone who is very sensitive to the slightest flaws in the tourist service, who prefers a "civilized" beach holiday. It's no secret that many tourist villages of the island provide a satisfactory, but far from luxurious service. Although it is quite suitable for those who are limited in funds or come to Bali for the sake of "Bali".

Nusa Dua is a small village protected from unauthorized "invasion" of local residents. You can get here through special checkpoints. However, an aboriginal or tourist who has not booked a room at a local hotel may well visit the resort. True, at the entrance they sometimes inspect the things of those who are suspicious. But any vacationer can not worry about the safety of the contents of the suitcases and their own safety. And what is important, it will be spared from endless annoying offers of services and goods.

The territory of Nusa Dua is well planned, almost perfectly groomed and very beautiful. Fans of leisurely walks or cycling will be pleased with the excellent condition of the paths. and catering establishments are presented, as they say, in a wide range. Without any exaggeration, we can say that the resort has a great many advantages, and there is only one drawback - a clear lack of national color. Which, however, is easy to make up for by drawing up and implementing a program of visits to. But more about everything.

Beach

‒ some of the best on the island, well equipped, well maintained, have a gentle entry into the sea and are suitable for swimming. The latter is important, because the sea off the coast of Bali is noticeably more pleasing and especially so. By the way, surfing at the resort is possible, but more on that later. The total length of the beaches is 3 km.

The beaches are covered with pleasant champagne-colored sand, the sea is clear. However, some beaches are somewhat “exciting”, and in some places it is almost impossible to swim at low tide.

  • Sawangan or Nikko Beach is located in the southern part of the resort. The ebbs and flows are almost not felt here, but waves are possible. In general, swimming is comfortable.
  • Geger is also located in the south of the resort. Very popular with Russian tourists, great for little kids. At low tide it is suitable for snorkeling.
  • Mengiat is located closer to the center of the resort. Convenient and quite crowded beach. You can swim at low tide.
  • Nusa dua is beautiful, clean and convenient beach in the center of the resort. However, it is impossible to swim here during low tides. But you can admire the impressive natural phenomenon called Water Blow: the waves beat wildly and beautifully between the rocks.

Housing

The resort and its immediate surroundings offer, that is, hotels of all star levels, guesthouses, villas, etc. Capricious or wealthy tourists will be satisfied with the service of 5 * hotels, some of which are known throughout the world for comfort and chic. Almost all five-star hotels in Nusa Dua are located on the first line. The room price starts from $50/night for two.

The category of 4 * hotels has more than 60 options. This is more than decent accommodation, but at a much nicer price: from $18/night for two. There are about 75 2 * and 3 * hotels. Rooms will cost at least $ 13 / night for two.

Budget-conscious tourists can find suitable option among 1* hotels. The price for a room in this category starts from $10/night for two.

Thus, not only media personalities and wealthy people can enjoy their vacation, the Nusa Dua resort is accessible to almost everyone.

It is impossible to feel at home in any of the most spacious and luxurious hotel rooms. For those who want to feel like a master on vacation, it is better to rent a villa. As a rule, this is a decent mansion with an area of 200 sq. m, with a full range of amenities and household appliances, a plot and a swimming pool. The villa will cost from $ 30 / day.

All prices are valid for high season. In the low season, the cost of housing is reduced.

Entertainment

Bali is, in principle, not the best place for lovers of parties and incendiary parties. There is only one place on the whole island where those who are thirsty for a bright nightlife tourists can be satisfied with the rest - Kuta in the southwestern part of the island. Nusa Dua is a calm, and "decent" resort. Here they do not suffer from insomnia due to the roar of the dance floors, and you will not see cheerful youth staggering through the streets until dawn. However, there are plenty of options to have a good time.

To the delight of connoisseurs of cultural spectacles, there is a theater - Bali Nusa Dua Theatre, where several times a week you can see a colorful dance show on subjects dedicated to the history and culture of Bali.

The island offers all kinds of water activities, among which surfing is worth highlighting. This activity has a seasonality for each section of the coast of Bali. So, in Nusa Dua they catch a wave in the low season, from November to March. lovers water attractions recommended Bali Wake Park, located about 14 km north of the resort.

There are few attractions directly in Nusa Dua and its environs. This:

  • the magnificent Nusa Dua Park;
  • Puja Mandala is an area where temples of five denominations allowed in Indonesia have been erected: Muslim, Buddhist, traditional Balinese, Catholic and Protestant;
  • Pacifica Museum of Art.

The resort will meet the expectations of those who consider shopping to be a pleasant pastime. To be frank, the creators of the resort have made a lot of efforts to ensure that dear guests leave as much money as possible in local shops.

The Bali Collection Center was created in the best traditions of the trading business. In addition to a pleasant walk through the labyrinth of world-famous brands, here you can relax in a massage parlor, tidy yourself up in one of the beauty studios, sit in a cafe or restaurant. From time to time, entertainment events are organized on its territory. From many hotels to Bali Collection organized free shuttle. In a word, the center is good for everyone, but the prices bite.

Nutrition

Already something, eh. Particularly impressive is the number of mind-blowingly expensive restaurants, many of which are located in luxury hotels. But there are even more establishments for less wealthy travelers, and warungs, traditional eateries, are recommended for tourists with very limited funds. Maybe the dishes in warungs do not pull on Michelin stars, but they are quite affordable, tasty and satisfying.

For those who decide to cook their own food, the quite decent Hardy's Nusa Dua supermarket, located at the aforementioned souvenir market, is recommended.

Weather

In general, the weather in the resort is typical for the Bukit Peninsula - somewhat drier than in most of Bali. Bali is located in the equatorial monsoon climate zone, with pronounced dry and rainy seasons. The first lasts from May to October (local winter), the second - from November to March (summer). The air temperature during the day and year varies slightly, and the water temperature fluctuates even less.

The hottest month is March, when during the day the air warms up to +32⁰ and above, the coolest month is July (+28⁰ ... +30⁰). The warmest sea is in March: up to +30⁰, the coldest, when the water can cool below +27⁰ - in July. At first glance, you can relax here all year round. But still, the time of the trip should be taken more seriously.

Indeed, Nusa Dua is located on the east coast, which does not suffer from storms that block access to beaches in the west. In addition, during this period, an additional “option” is opened in the form of surfing. But still, deadly humidity, terrible heat, as well as frequent showers that can cancel all planned excursions, can significantly spoil the rest.

So, Nusa Dua is well-groomed and cozy resort, offering a calm, "lazy" and comfortable stay. The disadvantages include some remoteness from many of the most interesting Balinese attractions and, of course, not very pleasant prices.

Here you will find unique beaches, enjoy unusual nature and swim in the very warm ocean. This place is regularly visited by hundreds of thousands of travelers from all over the world. If you want to sunbathe under the bright sun of Nusa Dua, then this article was created especially for you. The text contains information about geography, prices, weather, the best places and other important features of the resort.

Hello my readers. I want to tell you about my favorite Nusa Dua.

It is considered the most expensive on the entire island.

The area is fenced with guards at the entrance. Every car is checked. But what I like about the Balinese is that the guards will always apologize to tourists and drivers for causing trouble and inconvenience.

On the coast there are hotels with a category of 5, 4 stars. Certainly the most expensive on the entire coast of Bali.

How to get from the airport.

You can get from the airport to the Nusa Dua area by Uber taxi. The cost is about 70,000-80,000 rupees (5 - 7 $). But Uber has only recently been on the island and so sometimes the system fails. In addition, drivers sometimes cannot determine where to pick up a client. They refer to the taxi service, which does not give a clear picture of where to wait for the client.

Keep in mind that sometimes the driver asks to pay him for parking time, about 4,000 - 10,000 rupees.

If you hail a taxi on your own, drivers start from 200,000 rupees (about $15), but feel free to bargain and drop to 100,000 - 120,000 rupees ($7-8).

All hotels have a meeting service at the airport. Then the cost will be 260,000 - 300,000 rupees (25 - 30 $).

Beach.

When we were going to Bali for the first time in 2012, we read a lot of reviews that the island is not intended for beach holiday.

Bali is wonderful. And I prefer the coast of Nusa Dua, for the beautiful, always clean beach, turquoise color of water and calm wave.

The beach at Nusa Dua Beach & Spa

This place is ideal for families with children. Good entry into the sea, warm water +32 and soft sand, what else is needed for children's recreation.

The water is clean and transparent, if you swim a little from the shore with a mask and snorkel, you can watch the fish. Pretty good snorkelling.

My kids didn't get out of the water. To lure them to the shore it was necessary to try very hard. The elder disappeared with a mask, and the younger splashed along the shore.
Somewhere the water at low tide goes very far. But it is worth going a little to the side, as you can safely swim.

The beach at the Novotel hotel. You can always swim here.

On the beach, which belongs to the Novotel, you can always swim. Indeed, there is a strong current. But again, everything is decided by walking towards the Ayodya hotel.

The water is clean and transparent, water t +32. Children cannot be taken out of the water.

All hotels have their own sunbeds. Security guards keep order on the beach.

Each hotel has its own sunbeds. The trees provide natural shade. Security on the beach keeps order.

In 2018, we stopped on the coast of Jimbaran, and when we came to sunbathe on Nusa Dua beach, we were faced with the fact that the security really makes sure that the sunbeds are occupied only by hotel guests. Sincerely surprised when we offered to pay for the sunbeds.

We managed to do this only at the INAYA Putri Bali Resort. The cost of 2 sunbeds was 100,000 rupees (about $ 7-8) for the whole day.

Pure sand Nusa Dua

The bay where the hotel is located was quiet in 2012 (visited the island for the first time) calm place. Now (2018) the beach is quite noisy, the Balinese organized scooter rides. They park right next to the hotel. The constant noise of the motor interferes with vacationers.

Beach sellers are not too intrusive with all sorts of nonsense. You can buy tours from them.

Masseuses hide and operate mainly in the beach area of the Ayoda Hotel. The massage is not even bad. We did almost every day. Women try their best.

Nusa Dua beach is long. An asphalt path runs between the hotels and the beach. It's very nice to take a walk in the evening.

It is very comfortable to walk along the asphalt path along the beach. You can also rent a bike.

Also along this path you will quickly reach the Bali Collection shopping center.

You can find anything in the mall.

Get from the hotel closest to the coast, or take the bus to the hotel reception, which will take you to the shops for free. You can return, the same on it.
There are shops with clothes, souvenirs, currency exchange offices, supermarkets, and of course cafes and restaurants.

In the territory retail space, a huge number of cafes and restaurants.

Shops with branded clothing (mostly sportswear) are not the cheapest.
In Bali Collection, sit down the SOGO chain of stores. In addition to branded brands, it presents brands of local designers. Sometimes very worthwhile and at an affordable price.

A large number of branded silk scarves, very beautiful. They will be a wonderful souvenir for any fashionista. I bought this scarf in 2012, still like new.

There is a department of toys, shoes, bags, jewelry and wooden souvenirs.

You can buy designer items at the lowest cost. Maybe someone will appreciate this thing))))

Cafes and restaurants offer me different countries, for any wallet. Almost all establishments have a menu in Russian. In the evening, musicians play live music.

A sign for one of the cafes. we passed by this sucking pig. But who dares to experiment? Write in the comments, would you try this dish?

Entertainment.

People come to Nusa Dua to relax and there is not much entertainment here. Fans of active night parties and hangouts need to go to Kuta.

Eat . This theater performance takes place on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Ticket price starts from 500,000 rupees per adult, from 260,000 rupees per child. The price depends on the place in the hall.

Tickets can be bought on the official website, at the hotel and from distributors.

If you buy tickets at the hotel, then a free shuttle will take you there and back.

We attended this event. It is unreasonably expensive. I can’t say that I really liked it, and even more so they didn’t squeal with delight. If you are planning to visit a safari park, then I advise you not to even waste your money and time on Devdan, because this is just a pathetic semblance of Agung Show in Safari Park.

Located luxury resort Nusa Dua. This place is mainly geared towards wealthy people, you can also have a very good time here. family holiday. The resort is very popular among tourists, because here are the most beautiful beaches and in some places you can even see volcanic sand. Previously, this place was famous for the fact that there was nothing but mangrove swamps here, but now tourists can relax in the most luxurious hotels and enjoy sparsely populated beaches.

How to get there?

You can get to the fashionable resort by flying to the airport of the capital (Ngurah Rai), Nusa Dua is located 12 km from this city. It will be possible to take a taxi at the airport, if the roads are not crowded, the travel time will take no more than 25 minutes. It is best to take a taxi at the airport, and not look for it on the street. On the 1st floor, in the arrivals area, there is a special desk through which you can order a car. The trip will cost 125,000 rupees. You should prepare money in advance, because taxi drivers do not give change.

More budget option counted as a flight to . From there, you can get to Nusa Dua not only by taxi, but also by bus. Transport will follow from the Batubulan stop, the name of the resort should be written on it. The fare will cost only 3,500 rupees, though from the airport to bus stop have to walk, walking tour will take about 15 minutes.

Climate

Due to its proximity to the equator, the weather here is very favorable for recreation. Even at the very cold month the air temperature does not fall below +26 degrees. The water temperature fluctuates between +26-29 degrees.

The rainy season starts in November and ends in March. During this period, there are as many vacationers as at any other time. There are very few rainy days here, the humidity of the air during this period reaches 80%. Precipitation mainly falls early in the morning or evening, so it does not cause inconvenience.

Resort Information

For the first time, the island authorities decided to make a resort on this site in 1970. They wanted to create a closed tourist area. To do this, all the mangrove swamps were dried up and the fishing villages that used to be in the southeastern part of the resort were closed. Over time, the place became suitable for recreation, and then the entire population was relocated to other places so that the resort was exclusively for tourists.

The idea of building such a resort turned out to be very successful. Now there are a lot of five-star hotels, beautiful lawns, smooth roads and absolutely no garbage. The authorities also made sure that nothing on the territory of the resort overshadowed the rest of tourists. That is, there are no stray animals, homeless people, street vendors and small stalls with goods of dubious quality. However, the cost of such a luxurious life in an ideal place for relaxation is quite high.

Here you can enjoy spacious and clean beaches (Pantai Geger), engage in water sports sports, relax in the best hotels of the island, visit restaurants and massage parlors. In addition, there are absolutely no traffic jams in the resort. You can get here only if you go through 1 of 3 entrances, each of them has guards at the post and carefully checks some personalities. Basically, security only inspects local residents by car so that an illegal trader cannot enter the territory of Nusa Dua.
