How to get from Pattaya to Hua Hin. By bus or minivan. Taxi or transfer - expensive, but fast

Hua hin thailand how to get from bangkok or pattaya. Since we very often had to dangle like this and even move, I will tell you all the ways how to get to Hua Hin A.

Since we lived in Pattaya for the first year and a half, and then moved to Hua Hin, we often had to travel between Pattaya, Bangkok and Hua Hin, so today I will tell you about all the methods I know and share some secrets.

The distance from Bangkok to Hua Hin is 180 km. The road is good and flies by unnoticed, but on Fridays half of the capital rushes to the sea and instead of 3 hours you can drive all 5!

From Pattaya to Hua Hin

Previously, everyone traveled by minibuses with a change at Victoria Monument, but now all minibuses have been removed there and a direct connection has been launched. Now there are 2 great ways:

  1. A boat trip costs 1250 baht per person. Travel time is only 2 hours. Departs every day at 13.00 from the main pier.
  2. You can take a bus from the North Bus Station in Pattaya, it costs 470 baht per person. On the way about 5 hours. On Fridays and weekends, the journey can take more than 7 hours.

How to get to Hua Hin from Bangkok

Bus

Buses Bangkok Hua Hin depart from almost any bus station. Also, any bus that goes to Phuket will do for you, because it passes Hua Hin.

Please note that there are buses that leave from Coassan Road. For many, this is the convenient way, because almost everyone stops there for the night, but such tickets almost always need to be booked in advance, because they sell out quickly.

The second important link is the famous Bell service, which carries from airports. It is always better to book in advance, it is almost impossible to buy at the airport.

From Mochit bus station and Emakai buses run every hour.

Some buses bring to the bus station, and it is a few kilometers from the city, if you were brought there, then catch any minibus - it will take you

From the Northern Bus Station: one of the most inconvenient ways, because it is located far from the metro, in a completely non-tourist part of Bangkok. Such a completely typical bus station on the outskirts. They depart every hour, but due to the inconvenient location of the station, this method is meaningless. By the way, this is why I do not recommend the Hua Hin Bangkok Bus - it can bring you to this bus station, from which you will only have to get out by taxi and it will take a lot of time.

I was looking for the right rack for 15 minutes

Another regular bus runs from to Hua Hin, tickets for it are sold at gate number 8 on the first floor. You can view the schedule and book seats in advance on their official website: http://airporthuahinbus.com/. It’s worth doing it, because I never managed to leave on it, it was always crowded.

Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin is the most convenient way with children and suitcases

Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin can be booked at any airport. Bangkok Hua Hin transfer price is 2500 baht from Suvarnabhumi airport. It is ordered on the ground floor, there are several stands of the official taxi. For those who travel for the first time, I note that these are not our private traders who break prices, but the official one, so there is no difference if you pay for the transfer directly at the airport or go to the city to catch another taxi.

Bangkok Hua Hin train is the most romantic way

The Bangkok Hua Hin train costs only 100 baht and arrives at the most beautiful and ancient railway station in Thailand. In Hua Hin there is a royal railway platform, which was opened in 1911 and is still in operation. You will find it in any city guide. It really looks very original, inside there is a small museum of the king, and one of the best coffee shops in the city is located, where delicious brewed coffee costs only 70 baht. In addition, the station is located in the very center and you can easily get to guest houses, beaches and other hotels.

But there is a big minus - the train from Bangkok Hua Hin goes for 5 hours, which is just a very long time, so we have never ridden it, but if you ask a Thai, it is very honorable for them to come to the royal station and they will choose this particular way. If you still decide, then the Bangkok Hua Hin train leaves from Hua Lampong Station, the schedule can be easily viewed on the station website

Minibus from Victoria Monument (no more - everyone was dispersed)

For me, the most convenient way to get to Hua Hin is minibuses from Victoria Monument. They cost 180 baht per person, the journey takes 2.5 - 3 hours.

Victoria Monument is a place where you can go to any place in Thailand. There are hundreds of small companies with the same minibuses that crawl out of different gates and garages every second, so there is an eternal traffic jam. It is rather difficult to navigate for the first time, since companies in certain directions are usually located in one place (but try to find it first).

I always sit around shopping center Century - The Movie Plaza, it's right next to BTS stations so don't miss it. By the way, a small bonus: In this mall on the second floor there is a Pizzeria buffet, this is when you pay 200 baht and can eat as much as you like. Here, in addition to standard soups, snacks and meat, you are constantly being served different pizzas for 2 hours! Just do not get there at lunchtime, because. all the locals go there and there will be no free places from 13.00 to 15.00, and the rest of the time it is free.

All minibuses have been removed, the method is no longer relevant

Minibuses at this mall, and inside there is delicious pizza

By Air to Hua Hin Airport (Passenger aircraft airport is closed)

Hua hin airport this moment closed to regular flights, leaving only military aircraft and a pilot training base. Also, the king himself flies into it, because in Hau Hin is his functioning palace and he spends quite a lot of time there. This does not affect the ordinary life of the city, it can be seen only by the reinforced police squads near the palace.

Moreover, at the moment, the Thai authorities have no plans to develop this resort town, because. it is already crowded, so flights are unlikely to resume in the near future.

From Hua Hin to Bangkok

In fact, all the methods described above work in reverse direction, so I will write only the features and how to get to the bus stations.

Minibuses go from the center and arrive at Bangkok bus stations. This is the fastest and most convenient way, but if you need to, then this is not very convenient. There are buses that go directly to the airport, they leave from the bus station, tickets can be bought online: https://airporthuahinbus.com/. Well, Bell service too. True, there is always a problem to get to this station, because it is far from the center, they say that a green tuk-tuk goes there, but not always.

On the road lay 3-4 hours, but if you go during peak hours, then 5 hours.

The distance between Pattaya and Hua Hin is more than 300 kilometers, which means that the road by land will take at least 4 hours. For now transport connection excellent communication between cities. Every day, buses, ferries, and taxis run in two directions. I suggest that you study the features of each option so that the road for you is easy and not tiring.

Fortunately for tourists who do not like to travel with several transfers, there are direct buses from Pattaya to Hua Hin. There is only one flight per day. The bus leaves from northern bus station at 11 am. The road to Hua Hin takes 5.5 hours and at about 16:30 you will be taken to the central bus station of the city.

Transportation is handled by Bell Travel. The fare is 400 baht. Large comfortable buses with compartments for luggage and equipped with air conditioning run along the route. Usually there are no traffic jams on the road, and the road may be slightly reduced in time.

Ticket sales for scheduled bus to Hua Hin, window number 3 at the bus station is engaged. Also, you can always purchase them via the Internet on the site. Please note that it is advisable to take care of the ticket in advance, since there is only one flight per day and they simply may not be enough.

If you still do not have enough space for the bus, you can make a trip with a transfer in Bangkok. The most convenient way in this case is to use a minivan. They depart from Pattaya after they fill up completely. The interval is 30-60 minutes. They bring passengers to the Victoria Monument in Bangkok in 1 hour. The cost is about 100 baht. From there you transfer to another minivan heading towards Hua Hin. They leave every 30 minutes, in time - about 3 hours, at a cost - about 200 baht. The total amount will be no more than 300 baht, which is even more profitable than the first option.

Ferry

Starting from January 2017, there appeared the new kind connections between Pattaya and Hua Hin. More precisely, it didn’t even appear, but resumed, since once such a mode of transport existed, but then a break was made for a long time.

Crossing by ferry saves a lot of time for passengers, as the journey takes only about 2 hours. But it is unlikely that it will be possible to attribute the ferry to the cheapest methods. The cost of a one-way crossing is 1250 baht, which is far from affordable for all tourists.

At the moment, you can purchase boarding tickets at the pier and the website. The ferry, like the bus, makes only one trip a day. From Pattaya, it sails from Bali Hai Pier at 10:00. It will not be difficult to find a pier, as it is located almost in the central part of the resort and, if desired, it can be reached on foot from many hotels.

In Hua Hin you will arrive at Saphan Pla Pier. It is located a little away from the city center, in the area of Mount Takiab. But get to desired hotel you can always take a songteo, the cost of which varies between 15-20 baht.

Please note that ferries may depart with a slight delay. This can be influenced by both weather and technical reasons.

Taxi

Taxi is always one of the most expensive transports, especially if the distance is long, then you will have to pay a tidy sum for the trip. The simplest car, which can accommodate 4 people, will cost around 3500-4500 baht. The trip will take about 4-4.5 hours. There are three ways to order a taxi in Pattaya:

  • street agencies. Most of of which provides services for ordering a car.
  • On streets of Pattaya often there are inscriptions " Pattaya-Hua Hin Taxi". Such announcements are posted by the offices of various transport companies. You will have to communicate with them in English.
  • Internet. This method in Lately is the most popular. You can order a taxi on the website. Here you can choose the type of car yourself, find out in advance the cost of the trip. If you are traveling with children, then companies offer a service for ordering a child car seat.

If you order a car through an agency or transport company, do not forget to agree on the cost of the trip in advance so that at the end of the journey this amount does not come as a surprise to you. It is also not necessary to order two cars if you are planning a trip with a large group. For such purposes, there are minivans that will be more comfortable and will significantly save your budget.

Own car

If you are traveling in Thailand own car or rented it during a holiday in Pattaya, it is very convenient to go on it to a nearby Hua city Khin. To do this, you will have to follow highways No. 4 and No. 7. In time, the trip will take approximately 4.5 hours. Gasoline at gas stations in Thailand costs about 30 baht per liter, which means you will have to spend about 2,000 baht one way.

You can rent a car both on the streets of Pattaya and order it via the Internet on the website. From my own experience I can say that the second method is much cheaper and more reliable. Plus, do not forget that the country has left-hand traffic and you will need an international driving license to travel.

Getting from Pattaya to Hua Hin is not so difficult, especially since there are several travel options. All of them have their own differences and features, which makes it possible to choose the most suitable method for everyone.

The bus to Hua Hin passes the Cha-Am resort on the way and stops there in front of Bangkok Bank. In Hua Hin, he arrives at the bus station, which is located on Soi 96. It is quite far from the center and the zone cheap hotels, so it’s better to get off not at the final one, but 8-10 minutes earlier, at soi 55 or 57, where tourist area. In principle, you can get off at any point on the route, because before arriving at the bus station, the bus passes the entire city along the main street.

2. By taxi.

Taxi from Suvarnabhumi a good option if there are more than one of you. The official booking desk is located on the first floor (Level 1), you can get to it by following the signs "Public Taxi". Taxi drivers go by the meter, plus you have to pay 50 baht extra for landing at the airport.

It will be slightly cheaper if you take a taxi on the 4th floor, in the Departure Zone. They come here with passengers. They are forbidden to stand, so they drop people off and immediately leave. You need to immediately run up to them and agree on a price without a counter. You can bargain cheaper baht for 500.

A taxi from Don Muang Airport will be a little more expensive. The situation is the same there - either by an official taxi (the counter is located on the 1st floor), or go outside the airport through a covered passage to the street (where buses run) and catch a private trader.

Pattaya

To get to Hua Hin from Pattaya, you no longer need to change trains in Bangkok. On the North Pattaya bus station sell tickets for a direct bus, costs 389 baht at the moment. Departure at 11 am, travel time - 4-5 hours.

A less budgetary, but more comfortable option is to negotiate with a taxi. And if you are several people, then it will not be much more expensive than by minibus. You can also order via the Internet, for example,.

Chiang Mai

Recently, it has become possible to get directly from Hua Hin to Chiang Mai. The Sombat Tour company is engaged in this. Buses depart from the new bus station. In fact, there are two of them, located across the road. Tickets can be bought both there and there. They go three times a day: at 8:00, 18:15 and 19:30. On the way back, from Hua Hin to Chiang Mai, buses depart at 8:00, 17:00 and 18:00. Travel time is about 12:00.

It is better to choose an evening flight, as you can sleep during the journey. And in the morning, the whole day is wasted, plus you will be shown Thai films, music and entertainment shows all the way, which is very annoying. It is better to buy tickets in advance, because a couple of hours before departure they may no longer be available, especially in high season, weekends and holidays. Buses arrive in Hua Hin near the bus station on Soi 96. From there, you can take a public songthaew to the center for 10 baht.

How to get from Pattaya to Hua Hin. By ferry, taxi or direct bus. Here are 3 easiest ways to get to Hua Hin from Pattaya. You can order a taxi online or in travel agencies. You can buy ferry tickets online and at Bali Hai Pier. Bus tickets at the northern bus station or also on the Internet.

How to get from Pattaya to Hua Hin

I also came across descriptions of the route by train with a change in Bangkok. But this is clearly for those who are not in a hurry and love trains very much. Since you need to leave Ptt in the morning, and in the twentieth you will only be late at night. Therefore, the option to get by train is not considered.

You can pay for a taxi in cash to the driver or by card through the site in full the entire cost of the trip.
