Distance from Pattaya to Hua Hin. By own or rented car. Pattaya - relaxation for the soul

If you decide to stay in, this does not mean that you will need to limit yourself to only one city. There are many interesting things to see in Thailand. Let's say you are interested in the cities of Pattaya - Hua Hin: how to get there so that you do not have to spend too much time on the road? What options exist? Let's figure it out.

To begin with, it is worth noting that transport connection between these points is quite well developed. When departing from Pattaya, the distance will be more than 300 km (and the same way back). So you will have to spend about 4-5 hours on the way. Therefore, it is very important that you feel comfortable. And it depends on the chosen method.

By bus

If you don't want to deal with transfers, you can choose to travel by bus. There are direct flights between cities. True, only one. Departure takes place at 11:00 from Northern bus station. You will have to spend 5.5 hours on the road. But sometimes you are lucky with traffic jams, and you find yourself at the Central Bus Station Hua Hin even earlier.

What's good about this option? Travel is organized by the well-known transport company Bell Travel in Thailand. It provides passengers with buses in excellent condition. So the air conditioner will work all the way, and the luggage compartment is quite roomy.

Tickets are sold at the window number 3 at the bus station. But keep in mind that they may not be enough, so it makes sense to book in advance. This can be done through the 12Go.Asia service. The fare for one person is from 500 baht (depending on whether an adult or a child is traveling, and whether you are carrying luggage with you or not).

What to do if there were not enough tickets or you missed the bus? In this case, you can go by minivan. You need the bus station "Pattaya Tai". From here, this transport departs several times a day. On the way, he spends noticeably less time: only 4 hours, and the ticket is cheaper - about 300 baht. The problem is that luggage compartment not here, so you will have to pay for a suitcase as for another full-fledged place.

By taxi

This is the most expensive way to get to the desired city. Such a trip will cost you about 3.5-4 thousand baht (prices are valid at the beginning of 2018), and we are talking about a car for 4 passengers. That is, even if you divide the cost of the trip, it still turns out to be expensive. But you don't have to figure it out how to get from Pattaya to Hua Hin, and pay extra for luggage. When ordering transport through the site, you can be asked to give you a minivan (suitable for a large company) or provide a car seat for a child.

If you have any additional wishes, for example, you are traveling with a dog, then it is best to clarify such points in advance. When booking a taxi through the already mentioned service, the cost of the trip will be known in advance.

On a ferryboat

Sometime between Hua Hin and Pattaya was the ferry. Then for some reason it was removed, and from the beginning of 2017 it was launched again. Such a crossing takes a little time: only 2 hours. However, it also has its drawbacks. In particular, passengers are constantly pumped, so problems with seasickness can begin. Moreover, another disadvantage is great cost: 1250 baht That is, the price for one ticket is comparable to the cost of air travel.

The boat departs from Bali Hai Pier. Finding it is usually quite easy: you need to follow the famous Volkin Street to the west. When you get almost to the very end, you will see the pier. There you can buy a ticket. Another option is the same online service.

Only one ferry runs between the cities per day. Departure from Pattaya - at 10 am. However, the schedule is not always strictly observed. This can be affected by the weather and the breakdown of the steamer.

By own or rented car

One-way petrol costs an average of about 120 baht. That is, this method can be called one of the most convenient and economical, if we take into account only the cost of fuel. True, you will also need to pay for the car if we are talking about someone else's vehicle. Rent is calculated by the day, the price starts somewhere from 2000 baht. The specifics depend on what brand of car you decide to take, for how long (if for a long time, then you can get a discount).

Renting through websites on the Internet is safer and often cheaper than directly at car parks in Thailand or at the airport. To travel around the country, you need to have either local rights or similar international documents. The traffic here is left-handed, so you don’t have to relearn.

Another point: you have to deal with the tracks yourself. First, from Pattaya, you will need to go along highway number 7. Then you will have to cross the river Chao Phraya. And after that you need to move along the highway number 4. The total distance is 332 km.

As you can see, there are enough ways to get from one city to another. Which one to choose? In any case, you decide: each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

There are many impressions and photos from this trip. Therefore, I will divide it into several parts.

Pattaya.

We arrived in Bangkok early in the morning, got our luggage and went down to the first floor to buy bus tickets to Pattaya. There is also a subway to Bangkok, you just need to go down one level lower.
Russians do not need a visa to Thailand, they can stay in the country for 30 days.
Note: not a month, but 30 days!
The time difference is +4 hours to Moscow time.
Taiand does not switch to summer / winter time.
Bus tickets for 120 baht, departure every hour. Buses with air conditioning, travel time about 2 hours.
In the same place, nearby, you can buy a SIM card. We bought a SIM card from AIS - 5GB of internet and calls - 800 baht per month. Communication and the Internet was everywhere we went.
Last trip I bought a SIM card from DTAC - subjectively, it seemed that their Internet was faster.

In the photo is just the place where you can buy bus tickets.
And if you go outside and turn left, you will find a small shop. You can buy beer while waiting for the bus or other necessary stuff.

Having reached Pattaya, we rented a room in a small hotel for 600 baht / day on the 2nd soi, 200 meters from Jomtien Beach.
(At that time, the ruble had not yet collapsed and 1 baht was equal to about 1 ruble, now you need to multiply prices by two.)
I must say that my old friend lives in Pattaya, with whom I studied at school. He has a small cafe and his wife Taika.
Here in their company, and on their car, we went on a trip "from Pattaya to Hua Hin and back" with a stop at interesting places along our way.
Hua Hin is one of the most the oldest resorts Thailand and summer residence king.
The navigator promised to get to Hua Hin in 3.5 hours. In practice, we got there in over six hours.
But first things first, there was Pattaya and Jomtien.

Pattaya - resort town in the southeast of Thailand, in the province of Chonburi, on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand South China Sea, in the Pacific Ocean.
160 km from Bangkok and 110 km from Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Jomtien Beach is about 6 km long and has the shape of a straight line. Northern part, adjacent to Cape Pratumnak, is more urban and developed. In the southern part it passes into the Na-Jomtien region. Behind the Sigma Resort hotel, the beach ends and turns into a concrete embankment. The width of the beach is about 15-20 meters.

The hotel where we stayed was not far from the beach road, Pratamnak and the city center.

On the left is the Jomtien Palm Beach hotel, and on the right is Soi 2 and our hotel.

Neighborhood

On the right you can see the Swedish house :) This is a hotel and a bar on the ground floor. In the evenings they lit - mother do not cry!

My friend with his wife and wife's friend.

Jomtien beach.
There are many 7/11 shops in Pattaya with a huge selection of drinks.

In 7/11 refrigerators are arranged in an unusual way. They do not have a back wall, instead of it there is another door and the shelves are slightly tilted forward.
And with its help, the staff loads drinks into the refrigerator. Thus, the coldest drinks are in front, and the warm ones, respectively, at the end.

Famous Thai energy drinks.

On the beach road we met a colorful merchant, by the way, I bought “molecula” pants from him - this is a local brand of quality clothing. Cost 1500 baht.

There are a lot of our compatriots in Pattaya, there are inscriptions in Russian all around.

Single digit license plate.

We were lucky and in Pattaya passed international festival fireworks. And in connection with this, the beach road turned into a pedestrian zone in the evening.
Fireworks watched sitting on the beach. The festival itself lasted 2 days.

Traders dumping, T-shirts for 50 baht!

All insects, according to the seller, were brought from Cambodia. I can't remember the exact price, but it's not cheap.

A typical couple for Tai.

Nice boys :)

Street signs are made in the form of a steering wheel. These are all over Pattaya.

The famous Walking Street.

A pickup truck of fruit merchants periodically drives along the beach, 3 kilos of tangerines - 100 baht, 1 kg - for 40 baht.

Pattaya is the perfect starting point for exploring all of Thailand's main attractions. There is no other seaside resort, which would be so close to Bangkok - the main focus of cultural, historical and architectural monuments countries. Before old capital- Ayutthaya is also only 2.5-3 hours away. River Kwai, Kanchanaburi Province, northern cities Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai - everything is relatively close (especially when compared with Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, Phi Phi and Lanta, from which it takes 13 hours to go to Bangkok). In addition, from Pattaya you can easily and quickly get to the islands of Samet (2 hours) and Chang (4 hours), the beaches of which are clean and not crowded.
We leave for Hua Hin in the morning.

to be continued....

Greetings, dear readers of the site!

Traveling this year in Cambodia and Thailand after a holiday on Koh Chang ("Lonely beach") with a short stop in Pattaya ("Sights of Pattaya"), we moved to final destination- Hua Hin city.

The resort town of Hua Hin (translated " stone head") is located 220 kilometers southwest of Bangkok on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand.

In that small town- the royal resort we spent a wonderful 5 days.
At first there were doubts whether it was worth coming here, since this point did not fit into our route in any way, we had to cross Bangkok again.
But I'm glad we went there. This place is not very similar to the whole of Thailand, it is distinguished by sophistication, intelligence, many hotels are built in an elegant English style. Truly royal resort.

There is little information about Hua Hin on the Internet, since it has not yet been promoted among Russian travel agencies. Before the trip, I read the maximum reviews about this resort, and even more strengthened in the desire to see this city.

HOW TO GET TO.
From Bangkok, you can get to Hua Hin by road, rail, by air. Since the capital is very close, Bangkok residents like to come to Hua Hin for the weekend.
The cheapest, spectacular, you can see through the window natural beauty, but not a very comfortable mode of transport - railway.

Hua Hin has a very beautiful train station, a local attraction (my review).

More comfortable and faster way - automobile transport. From Bangkok from Suvarnabhumi Airport you can arrive by intercity comfortable bus - 3 hours drive, also from Bangkok every half an hour minivans go to Hua Hin - 2-2.5 hours.
From the capital from Don Muang Airport you can fly by plane, Hua airport Hin operates only domestic flights.
Sea transport can be reached from Pattaya, a high-speed ferry takes an hour and a half, but the cost is over the top, more than 1000 baht one way.
And from the south of Thailand you can get to Hua Hin by all these modes of transport.

We chose road transport. WITH Pattaya bus station on intercity bus comfortably arrived in five hours with a stop of 10 minutes in Suvarnabhumi airport.
When buying a bus ticket, they wanted to add a transfer to the hotel right away, but we were refused this service, saying that we could only do this upon arrival in Hua Hin.
At the entrance to the city we pass through a tunnel.

Hua Hin Bus Station, where our bus arrived, is located on the outskirts of the city, next to the airport.

Transfer to the hotel turned out at the cost of a taxi, 200 baht per person.

It was an air-conditioned minibus. I didn’t see the usual cheap songteos from the bus station.

URBAN TRANSPORT.
Such an abundance Vehicle, as in Bangkok or Pattaya, in Hua Hin there is none. Didn't see Meter taxi either. Taxis here are the same songthaews, only smaller. seats. A trip on such a taxi (photo below) will cost around the city from 100-200 baht, expensive.

The easiest, most comfortable and budget way to get around the city is by songteo. Price from 20-25 baht. In the evening, transport prices go up.

The cheapest green tourist songthaew costing only 10 baht.

WHERE TO LIVE. HOTELS. GUESTHOUSES. APARTMENTS.
A very large selection of hotels. In the heart of the city, on the coast,

with a view and access to Gulf of Thailand five-star hotels are located, such as Centara Grand, Hilton, etc.

Less star hotels are not located on the first line of the beach.
Large selection of accommodation in guesthouses. As I already wrote, Bangkok residents like to spend their weekends in Hua Hin, so many prefer rooms in budget guest houses, coming to rest on motorbikes.

Our vacation also fell on the weekend in Hua Hin, it was a continuous stream of motorbikes, minivans on main street Hua Hin: Friday night Bayside, Sunday night reverse side- to Bangkok.
On long term You can rent nice apartments.

Entire complexes have been built with a garden, a swimming pool, a gym and other services. These complexes are guarded. Prices are very different, in order to rent an apartment at an attractive price, you need to book well in advance (more than six months) before the trip.
When we walked to the bay or returned from the beach, our path was near such complexes. Outwardly, everything is very worthy, it would be nice to live there.

NUTRITION. MARKETS. shopping center.
You won't go hungry anywhere in Thailand.

And in Hua Hin, too, everything is tasty, healthy, there are a lot of various catering outlets - from very small and very large street cafes to chic restaurants, it is only important to decide what you like best: chic, tasty and expensive or democratic, tasty and budget.

We chose the last option. We dined both in the "Market Village" shopping center and in Cicada Market,

and Tamaring Market,

and in different street cafes, everywhere I liked it.

Hua Hin has large shopping and entertainment centers: Bluport

and Market Village.

Great places to relax and shop.

We visited two night markets, one is in the center, not far from railway station, second night market was close to our guesthouse in Takiab area.

These markets are open after dark until 22:00.

In the night markets, you can not only buy very cheap food, clothes, souvenirs, but also have a delicious dinner and have a great time.

ENTERTAINMENT.
Hua Hin is the exact opposite of Pattaya. If you are interested night life, you are not here, it is calm resort For family vacation.

The main attraction is, of course, the beaches.

ATTRACTIONS.
In Hua Hin and its environs there are many interesting places- natural and historical, which can be visited. This, and Summer Royal Residence Rama VI, and Royal Palace"Away from worries" railroad station, national park and waterfalls Buddhist temples, Mount Takiab and much more.

We rested in Hua Hin in the middle of March, the weather was perfect, the whole city was in bloom.

Such abundant frangipani blooms, magnificent gardens, I was simply fascinated.

On the city beach passed through a flowering garden.

The first time I saw a mango bloom. Very beautiful!

Let me summarize:
PROS.
+ close to the capital;
+ royal resort;
+ beautiful city beach,
+ perfect place for a long stay.
MINUSES.
- expensive housing;
- expensive taxi;
- Lots of weekend visitors.

How to get from Pattaya to Hua Hin. By ferry, taxi or direct bus. Here are 3 easiest ways to get to Hua Hin from Pattaya. You can order a taxi online or in travel agencies. You can buy ferry tickets online and at Bali Hai Pier. Bus tickets at the northern bus station or also on the Internet.

How to get from Pattaya to Hua Hin

I also came across descriptions of the route by train with a change in Bangkok. But this is clearly for those who are not in a hurry and love trains very much. Since you need to leave Ptt in the morning, and in the twentieth you will only be late at night. Therefore, the option to get by train is not considered.

Ferry Pattaya - Hua Hin

In late 2016 - early 2017, a ferry was launched from Pattaya to Hua Hin. Ferry Pattaya— Hua Hin is a great time saver for travelers. Now the road to Hua Hin takes only 2 hours. The ship departs from Bali Hai Pier and berths at Khao Takiab Pier in Hua Hin in 2 hours. Tickets cost 1250 baht. You can buy ferry tickets to Hua Hin at the pier, on the official website or on 12th Asia - here is the link.

Taxi Pattaya - Hua Hin

There are several ways to order a taxi from Pattaya to Hua Hin. For example, many street travel agencies often offer taxi services. We also often see in the city signs "Pattaya Huahin Taxi" from various offices of transport companies. Well, the third option - you can order on the Internet on that website.

You can pay for a taxi in cash to the driver or by card through the site in full the entire cost of the trip.

If you are several people, then it will be more profitable to take not 2 cars, but order a minibus, then the cost of a trip per person is decently cheaper.

Where to stay in Hua Hin

Book a room in advance, otherwise locals often occupy all hotels on weekends and holidays.
