Pattaya hua hin distance. How to get to Hua Hin from Bangkok and Pattaya: all ways. How to find a taxi rank from Bangkok Airport to Hua Hin

Hua hin thailand how to get from bangkok or pattaya. Since we very often had to dangle like this and even move, I will tell you all the ways how to get to Hua Hin.

Since we lived in Pattaya for the first year and a half, and then moved to Hua Hin, we often had to travel between Pattaya, Bangkok and Hua Hin, so today I will tell you about all the methods I know and share some secrets.

The distance from Bangkok to Hua Hin is 180 km. The road is good and flies by unnoticed, but on Fridays half of the capital rushes to the sea and instead of 3 hours you can drive all 5!

From Pattaya to Hua Hin

Previously, everyone traveled by minibuses with a change at Victoria Monument, but now all minibuses have been removed there and a direct connection has been launched. Now there are 2 great ways:

  1. A boat trip costs 1250 baht per person. Travel time is only 2 hours. Departs every day at 13.00 from the main pier.
  2. Possible by bus from Northern bus station in Pattaya, costs 470 baht per person. On the way about 5 hours. On Fridays and weekends, the journey can take more than 7 hours.

How to get to Hua Hin from Bangkok

Bus

Buses Bangkok Hua Hin depart from almost any bus station. Also, any bus that goes to Phuket will do for you, because it passes Hua Hin.

Please note that there are buses that leave from Coassan Road. For many, this is the convenient way, because almost everyone stops there for the night, but such tickets almost always need to be booked in advance, because they sell out quickly.

The second important link is the famous Bell service, which carries from airports. It is always better to book in advance, it is almost impossible to buy at the airport.

From Mochit bus station and Emakai buses run every hour.

Some buses bring to the bus station, and it is a few kilometers from the city, if you were brought there, then catch any minibus - it will take you

From the Northern Bus Station: one of the most inconvenient ways, because it is located far from the metro, in a completely non-tourist part of Bangkok. Such a completely typical bus station on the outskirts. They depart every hour, but due to the inconvenient location of the station, this method is meaningless. By the way, this is why I do not recommend the Hua Hin Bangkok Bus - it can bring you to this bus station, from which you will only have to get out by taxi and it will take a lot of time.

I was looking for the right rack for 15 minutes

Another regular bus runs from to Hua Hin, tickets for it are sold at gate number 8 on the ground floor. You can view the schedule and book seats in advance on their official website: http://airporthuahinbus.com/. It’s worth doing it, because I never managed to leave on it, it was always crowded.

Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin is the most convenient way with children and suitcases

Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin can be booked at any airport. Bangkok Hua Hin transfer price is 2500 baht from Suvarnabhumi Airport. It is ordered on the ground floor, there are several stands of the official taxi. For those who travel for the first time, I note that these are not our private traders who break prices, but the official one, so there is no difference if you pay for the transfer directly at the airport or go to the city to catch another taxi.

Bangkok Hua Hin train is the most romantic way

The Bangkok Hua Hin train costs only 100 baht and arrives at the most beautiful and ancient railway station in Thailand. In Hua Hin there is a royal railway platform, which was opened in 1911 and is still in operation. You will find it in any city guide. It really looks very original, inside there is a small museum of the king, and one of the best coffee shops in the city is located, where delicious brewed coffee costs only 70 baht. In addition, the station is located in the very center and you can easily get to guest houses, beaches and other hotels.

But there is a big minus - the train from Bangkok Hua Hin goes for 5 hours, which is just a very long time, so we have never ridden it, but if you ask a Thai, it is very honorable for them to come to the royal station and they will choose this particular way. If you still decide, then the Bangkok Hua Hin train leaves from Hua Lampong Station, the schedule can be easily viewed on the station website

Minibus from Victoria Monument (no more - everyone was dispersed)

For me, the most convenient way to get to Hua Hin is minibuses from Victoria Monument. They cost 180 baht per person, the journey takes 2.5 - 3 hours.

Victoria Monument is a place where you can go to any place in Thailand. There are hundreds of small companies with the same minibuses that crawl out of different gates and garages every second, so there is an eternal traffic jam. It is rather difficult to navigate for the first time, since companies in certain directions are usually located in one place (but try to find it first).

I always sit next to Century - The Movie Plaza, it's right next to BTS stations so don't miss it. By the way, a small bonus: In this mall on the second floor there is a Pizzeria buffet, this is when you pay 200 baht and can eat as much as you like. Here, in addition to standard soups, snacks and meat, you are constantly being served different pizzas for 2 hours! Just do not get there at lunchtime, because. all the locals go there and there will be no free places from 13.00 to 15.00, and the rest of the time it is free.

All minibuses have been removed, the method is no longer relevant

Minibuses at this mall, and inside there is delicious pizza

By Air to Hua Hin Airport (Passenger aircraft airport is closed)

Hua hin airport this moment closed to regular flights, leaving only military aircraft and a pilot training base. Also, the king himself flies into it, because in Hau Hin is his functioning palace and he spends quite a lot of time there. This does not affect the ordinary life of the city, it can be seen only by the reinforced police squads near the palace.

Moreover, at the moment, the Thai authorities have no plans to develop this resort town, because. it is already crowded, so flights are unlikely to resume in the near future.

From Hua Hin to Bangkok

In fact, all the methods described above work in reverse direction, so I will write only the features and how to get to the bus stations.

Minibuses go from the center and arrive at Bangkok bus stations. This is the fastest and most convenient way, but if you need to, then this is not very convenient. There are buses that go directly to the airport, they leave from the bus station, tickets can be bought online: https://airporthuahinbus.com/. Well, Bell service too. True, there is always a problem to get to this station, because it is far from the center, they say that a green tuk-tuk goes there, but not always.

On the road lay 3-4 hours, but if you go during peak hours, then 5 hours.

In terms of popularity, Pattaya is far superior to Hua Hin, but the latter also has its admirers who come there on vacation year after year. Hua resort Hin is located on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand and is a kind of opposite to the noisy and crowded Pattaya, where life is in full swing around the clock.

From point of view weather conditions both resorts are suitable for recreation throughout the year. From time to time, certain natural disasters can happen, but this cannot be insured at any other resort in the world, so when planning a trip, it is advisable to pay attention to studying the weather forecast. Even during the rainy season, you can comfortably relax and sunbathe at these resorts, as the rains are of a short duration.

Eat significant difference in the beaches. It's no secret to many tourists that Pattaya's beaches are considered one of the worst in Thailand. The thing is that Pattaya is not only popular resort, which is visited annually by a huge number of tourists, but also Big City. These factors affect the quality of the sea. Those who travel to Thailand solely for beach holiday they don't even pay attention to Pattaya. The beaches of Hua Hin are a completely different matter. The resort boasts clean, sandy and wide beaches, while the beaches are sparsely populated, not even close to the pandemonium that can be seen on beaches of Pattaya. You can equally well relax both on city beaches and on those that are outside the city. The water temperature in the Hua Hin area is considered one of the most comfortable in all of Thailand.

If in beaches of Pattaya loses significantly, then wins significantly in entertainment (especially when it comes to entertainment for adults). Hua Hin has its own small entertainment areas, but in scale they are significantly inferior to Pattaya. It is believed that young people in Hua Hin more than a week there is nothing to do, then it becomes boring and uninteresting. Almost the same can be said about shopping. In Pattaya, for this case, much more possibilities. If there are only a few good-quality shopping centers in Hua Hin, then there are a huge number of them in Pattaya. Also, Pattaya is superior in the number of markets and large supermarkets. You will not leave Hua Hin without souvenirs, but there is nowhere to accelerate there.

There are more attractions in Hua Hin and the city's environs, but the lack of attractions in Pattaya is compensated by a wide selection of all kinds of excursions (and inexpensive ones). In addition, in Pattaya, you can buy excursions to neighboring states Laos and Cambodia, including in Russian (where there is competition, prices are always lower). In Hua Hin, it is very difficult to find an excursion with a Russian-speaking guide.

An important moment of any vacation is good developed infrastructure. Here, you can put an equal sign between the resorts, since no matter which resort you choose, you will not lack any benefits of relaxation. A small plus of Pattaya is that in almost all shops, restaurants, shopping malls, the beach has information in Russian. For many tourists, this is a very important moment.

There will be no difficulties in getting to Hua Hin or Pattaya. The cheapest way is by bus. They run regularly from Bangkok, but if you want to get there faster and in comfort, you can always order a taxi. By to distance Pattaya is closer, there is more transport and, accordingly, the cost is lower. If you can drive to Pattaya in about an hour, then the road to Hua Hin will take 3-4 hours.

Holidays in these resorts can be compared in other ways, but it all depends on the specific purpose of your holiday: if it is peace, tranquility and clean beaches, then choose Hua Hin, and if entertainment, then you are on the way to Pattaya.

We planned a trip to Hua Hin spontaneously, on Saturday evening, at about 23:00. For a long time, with my friends, we wanted to visit this city, but we didn’t dare, but then we decided. Since we wanted to visit given city over the weekend, we decided to go on Sunday early in the morning. Everything would be fine, but only about 7-9 hours are left before the trip, and we haven’t packed our things, we haven’t bought tickets, the hotel hasn’t been booked, and we don’t want to change plans. As a result, we decided to look for transport at night for tomorrow morning.

We know the city like our own 5 fingers, so we found a place where transport departs very quickly. Hua Hin's transportation company is located on South Street. It was a shame only that the first bus leaves at 8:00 in the morning, but I wanted to go early.

Since it was night, we postponed our call and the purchase of tickets until the morning, and went home. We got home around 2 am. We began to search for a hotel at a pace, but around 4 in the morning, we ran out of strength and we fell asleep without finding suitable option while still having time to set the alarm for 7:30 in the morning.

7:30 in the morning, the alarm rings, I translate it for 5 minutes in order to sleep a little more, and in the end we wake up only at 10:30, with the understanding that we overslept our trip ...

After 10 minutes of negotiations to go or not, we decide to go for 12 hours, but the tickets have not yet been bought, the bag has not been collected and the hotel has not been booked. I call the company where we visited yesterday and find out that buying tickets is only at the office, you can’t pay the driver (we only found out that the boarding was also only there when we arrived at the place). The price of a minivan ticket from Pattaya to Hua Hin is 400 baht.

We really wanted to go to Hua Hin for the weekend, as one of interesting places, Cicada market, works only on weekends, so we decide that we need to catch the 12-hour bus at all costs, otherwise the next one will be only at 14:00, which is already quite late.

Having quickly put on what came to hand, we jump on a motorcycle and rush to the office. The clock is already 10:50, we got to the office in 10 minutes. On the way, we still thought we could reschedule the trip, but decided that no, we were going today.

Arriving at the office, we understand that there is absolutely trouble with English, almost no one in the office understands English. As a result, it turned out that they do not pick up from hotels or condos, and boarding the bus is carried out only at the office. After 5 minutes of negotiations, they made a concession to us and promised to come for us, joyful we get into motorbikes and rush home to collect things, at that time we did not suspect that we rejoiced early.

Arriving home at 11:20, we run naked to the shower, after which we begin to collect our luggage. But as always nothing can be found...

Having turned the whole house over and found everything we need, while having time to cook breakfast, we collect our bag and run to the road to wait for our minivan. This is where our first transitions began.

It's 12:10 at the clock, but they don't come for us... We call the number that they gave us, there is silence. We start to worry. Second call, hooray!! They answer us and say that the driver is on the way. Relief, standing, joking, 10 minutes pass. The driver calls and asks - "where are we?". Trying to explain to him where we are waiting for him, but from the conversation we understand that he is not on our street. Having informed him about this, he hangs up and we begin to wait again, not at all with joyful emotions.

5 minutes pass, the driver calls and asks - “where are we?”, It turns out that he is already on Sukumvit Road (this is the main road or in Russian, the track) is not at all in the place we need, in a slight shock we make a quick decision, catch a taxi, call the driver, he discusses something with the taxi driver, as a result, the taxi driver says 50 baht and I will take you. Agreeing to sit down and rush to our bus.

Arriving at the right point, we give the taxi driver 200 baht, and he gives us 50 baht of change? "Why?" - we asked him, he says - "There are three of you!" :). They didn’t argue, since this was our fault, they didn’t immediately specify, we pick up the change, and run to our bus.

In the end, we got into our minivan, at about 12:30. Sighing with relief, and understanding that we had time, a little joyful and shocked, we fall into chairs and fall asleep ...

To be continued…

To shorten the travel path ferry crossing reduced in comparison with the steamer, so you will be on the way for only two hours. ON A RENTED OR YOUR OWN CAR

If you are an avid car enthusiast and prefer to drive a car on your own, then remember that you will have to control and track an unfamiliar track yourself. Traffic from Pattaya to Hua Hin goes first along Autobahn No. 7, and then after crossing the Chao River Praia near the town of Sathon, you will move along the highway number 4. The distance along this path will be more than three hundred and thirty kilometers.

As for gasoline consumption, a one-way trip will cost 120 baht, given that the average fuel consumption is ten liters per hundred kilometers, and the price of gasoline per liter is about 30 baht. Agree, it is very economical. If you refuel, you need to remember about two types of Thai fuel: GASOHOL - a mixture of ethanol with gasoline, as well as gasoline directly - GASOLIN. And you yourself need to check what you order and what is poured into your tank, as the Thais say that gasoline fuel can also be suitable. However, you certainly do not want to get stuck somewhere halfway. In order to make sure what type of fuel you need, there should be a marking on the gas tank cap or near the driver's door. Do not forget that in Thailand - left-hand traffic, and driver license must be either issued in Thailand or international.

The safest place to rent a car is at Rentalcars.com. The advantage of this site is both reliability and safety, and besides practicality: taking a car just in the parking lot will cost you much more. And, accordingly, will not spoil your pleasure from a pleasant trip.
We hope you are convinced that getting from Pattaya to Hua Hin is quite realistic and easy. Choose which option is right for you.
