Venice whether there are cars there. Paid and free parking in Venice

we came from outside Cote d'Azur from Nice. I’ll make a reservation right away that we booked hotels in advance from Moscow on the Booking website. But it so happened that we did not always have time in booked hotel and had to spend the night in the first counter hotel.

We also decided in advance that the first city we would visit would be Venice. We did not know anything about the Parking lots in Venice at that time. We were on our way to Venice. We drove up to the city early in the morning, the sun was already rising. The season is September. In Nice, the weather was variable, sometimes rain, sometimes sunshine. But approaching Venice in the morning there was not a single cloud.

Not reaching 100 kilometers to Venice, we got into a huge traffic jam. They stayed for three hours. It turned out that there was an accident about a hundred meters ahead. A trailer with a boat broke away from the car and blocked the entire highway. Until the crane arrived and put the boat aside, everyone patiently walked around their cars and, having nothing to do, got to know each other or had breakfast. We, too, in order not to waste time in vain, decided to have a bite to eat.

Finally we arrived at Venice . The car was left in a multi-story parking lot as soon as they crossed the bridge. Advice to those who will park the car in this parking lot. Take the trouble to write down your parking number and floor, and even better, take a picture. Parking in Venice is not easy. When we picked up the car, we watched a husband and wife from Ukraine rushing around the floors in a cold sweat, who forgot where they left their car. The cost of parking is 25 euros per day. Moreover, if you left the car for only 6 hours, then you will also be charged 25 euros.

Multi-storey car park in Venice.

There seem to be three parking lots. But, in the season of free places, they say, not a lot. So how do you find parking in Venice? To do this, from the mainland you must cross the Ponte de la Liberta bridge. You will immediately arrive at Piazzale Roma. This is where all the parking lots are located. Then you can either walk or vaporetto . This is such a river tram.

The weather changed again, and a little rain drizzled.

On San Marco, water appeared from the wells and gradually began to flood the entire area. When we returned to the square after lunch, wooden decks were already installed on it, along which tourists moved, and the square itself was a lake with clear water. I noticed that some tourists were walking through a huge puddle in rubber boots. So, specially somewhere in such cases they give out such shoes for walking. Pigeons at the same time huddled under the arches, on the eaves and roofs of the palaces.

The first thing we noticed was the absence of the smell that scared us. Like, Venice smells like sewage. So, we didn’t notice any extraneous smells, except for the smell of hot pizza, and the water in the channels is transparent and you can even see the shabby bricks of buildings at a depth of up to half a meter.

We decided to take a gondola ride. We see one of them, moored to the wall. I think if it is empty, then the gondolier is somewhere nearby, perhaps resting or going out of need. We decided to wait for him and I sat on the side. But right away, from somewhere above, from the window, came an Italian cry addressed to me, by which I guessed that I sat down on the edge of the gondola rather recklessly. Smiling, polite gondoliers rule the canals, and here such a roar. I silently took out a piece of paper for one hundred euros from my pocket and waved it to the owner of the boat screaming from the window. Everything changed exactly the opposite, as a result of which we sailed through the channels. They even offered us an umbrella. As the owner of the gondola later explained to us, his boat costs about 50 thousand euros, and if I had scratched the polish with my booty, he would have drowned me under the nearest bridge. Having nothing to do, I showed him a photo of our Toyota on a digital camera and offered him a change, to which he only smiled and shook his head. The gondola ride cost us 100 euros/hour per gondola and did not depend on the number of passengers. We rode together in splendid isolation for about forty minutes. After water trips they just walked along the narrow streets and stared carelessly at the windows with masks, glass and pasta in tubes.

It's cool, standing on St. Mark's Square among thousands of pigeons, spread your arms to the sides. Immediately, several birds sit on their hands and even on their heads. Immediately the thought arises: if only not to spoil. Pigeon feeding is currently prohibited in Venice, as they allegedly peck small particles from architectural monuments thereby destroying them.

I really liked the ice cream with jam in the cafe on San Marco. It turns out that it is made with the addition of eggs, and not from condensed and powdered milk. And I didn’t like fruit cocktails near the Rialto Bridge from slices of watermelon, pineapple, melon and some other fruit. Generally tasteless and odorless this cocktail. Quite unexpectedly, I liked pizza in a cafe near the same Rialto.

At the end of the day, we happily returned to our parking lot and set off to travel further, to ROME .

Alexandra

Parking in Venice is one of the most vital places for tourists coming to this city on the water. Two of the main car parks in Venice are located right on Piazzale Roma, one on neighboring island, and another in front of the bridge leading to Venice.

Tourists coming to the city always think - what kind of parking to choose? What to pay attention to? What are the prices for parking in Venice?

Venice is a city located on the water. Car traffic between the islands is practically non-existent. We can leave the car already in Mestre, and from there enter the city by water tram or public transport. The second option is to get to central square- Piazzale Roma, leaving the car in the car parks in the area.

Piazzale Roma is the communication center of Venice. Here are the bus station, public transport stops and water trams. A few hundred meters away is the main Train Station Venezia S. Lucia. Having reached Piazzale Roma by our own car, we can start visiting Venice on foot - you can walk from here to Piazza San Marco within 30 minutes.

Parking your car directly at Piazzale Roma is almost impossible. It is better not to do this, because there is a police station on the square. IN last years Piazzale Roma can no longer even enter tourist buses. Now they are heading to the Tronchetto Parking Lot, which is 1300 meters from the center.

Parking Wenecja Parking Autorimesa Comunale

Large car park in Venice, located in Piazzale Roma, with easy access to the center. Multi-level parking, open all year round, around the clock. It has almost 2200 places for cars and 180 places for motorcycles. Parking is located in 10 halls and on two terraces of the parking roof. The access to the parking lot is very easy. When leaving the bridge that connects Mestre in Venice with the main road, just turn right, straight into the parking lot (the exit is marked). This parking lot is easy to find as it is the most large building in this district. In 1998, the parking lot underwent a major overhaul, as a result of which it was equipped with more than 200 cameras, which makes it possible to guarantee the protection of cars.

Vehicles up to 2.2 m high can enter the parking lot. The fee is charged per day of parking. Hourly calculation is not possible. Price per day for an average passenger car is 26 euros. If your car is wider than 185 cm, then you will have to pay 29 euros. In the off-season, that is, in March, November and several weeks of December, January and February, the price will be slightly lower (by 2-3 euros).

Wenecja Parking S. Andrea

The car park is located in the same building as the Autorimesa Comunale, but you have to enter it through an underground gate from the other side. When reaching Piazzale Roma, according to the direction of traffic, turn right, and then, when the main traffic goes to the left (next to the bus stop), at the corner of Piazzale Roma, turn right again. Then a gentle descent down takes us just below ground level. On the left is the parking office (it's best to ask there for free space and current prices).

This car park is perfect place for people who plan to leave the car in Venice for a very short time. Here you need to pay 6 euros for every two hours. Parking is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. The parking is covered, and there is a security guard at the exit. The parking lot has about 100 parking spaces in total, two of which are for people with disabilities. handicapped. But in the high season it is difficult to find a free place there.

Parking at Mestre Parking S. Giuliano

This parking lot is very easy to reach from all major highways. Parking is still in Mestre, on the right, in front of the bridge connecting Mestre with Venice. This is by far the cheapest car park, but it is far from Piazzale Roma. It is easiest to get on the public transport bus across the bridge. The parking lot is divided into three compartments: yellow, red and blue. If we plan to stay in Venice for several days, and our vacation budget is limited, then it is better to choose this parking lot.

Cars, motorcycles, buses, trucks, camping vehicles and even boat trailers can be parked in the yellow compartment gate area. The car park is open 24 hours a day and is equipped with a toilet, a dining room and stands for charging and emptying the toilets of camping sites and buses. There is also a car wash here. The landing price is 2 euros for parking up to 3 hours and 5 euros for a full day of parking. Caravan owners pay €10 per day, but the price includes sewage disposal.

251 passenger cars or motorcycles are placed in the gate area of the red compartment. There are also 7 places for cars of people with disabilities. In the gate area of the blue compartment - 186 parking spaces for cars. In the red and blue zones, you cannot park between 2:00 and 6:00. The first three hours of parking in both groups are free. For 4 hours you need to pay 2 euros, for 5 hours - 4.5 euros, and for 6 hours - 6 euros. Parking for up to 6 hours before the car park closes costs 12 euros. When entering the parking lot, you need to get a parking ticket and put it behind the windshield of the car.

Parking Tronchetto Venezia

The Tronchetto car park is the cheapest car park in the center of Venice. Parking is located on Isola Nuova. First you need to drive over the bridge from Mestre to Venice, and then immediately turn right and right again. The parking lot is well marked. You should look for a scoreboard with the inscription Tronchetto. This multi-level car park is covered and has 4,000 spaces. In practice, this means that you do not need to worry about the place and book parking. There are places here even at the height of the season.

More than 120 video cameras have been installed in the parking lot. The parking lot is guarded around the clock. Typical parking space 14 sq. m. and 280 cm wide. Parking staff are available 24/7. From the parking lot at Piazzale Roma you can walk (1300 meters walk) or drive on a special cable car. The first and second hour of parking costs 3 euros per hour. Third and fourth hour - 5 euros per hour. All day in the parking lot costs 21 euros (24 hours).

In 2010, a modern cable car was put into operation, connecting the Tronchetto parking lot with Piazzale Roma. A cable car ride called People Mover lasts 3 minutes ( walking tour lasts 20 minutes). Carriages leave on average every 7 minutes. The line stops at one stop along the way (Marittima).

Venice is not only the dream of every traveler, but also the most expensive city in Italy. A room in the holiday season costs an average of 15-25 thousand rubles for two adults per day. There were 4 of us - 2 adults and 2 children, the cost of air tickets came out no cheaper than 160 thousand rubles round-trip. Plus food, visiting, and exhibitions, buying souvenirs - a week in Venice will cost 300-400 thousand rubles.

Ca d'Oro Palace in Venice

Important!

Given that pharmacies and doctors do not work on Sundays, it is worth staffing travel first aid kit antipyretics, elementary pills for poisoning, pain, to hold out until the start of a new week.

Rules of the road on European roads

Rules traffic The Schengen zone is similar to the Russian one, but there are nuances.

If you have to make an emergency stop on the highway outside special place rest, all passengers in yellow vests must leave the car, otherwise - a fine. Therefore, vests must be transported not in the trunk, but in the car. Fines for speeding are severe, violations are recorded by numerous cameras. Have a nice trip!

Hello friends. Today is our story for those who travel around Italy by car. There are plenty of car parks in Venice. But they have their own specifics, because. part is located on the mainland of the city, and part on the island. I will tell you where to leave the car in Venice, how much it costs, I will open the pros and cons of different parking lots, and give their coordinates.

This is just the central historical part of Venice, where all tourists strive. There are 2 large parking lots. Both are located on Roman Square. It's very close to.

You can get to them from the mainland along the Via della Liberta dam, further along the Ponte bridge della Liberta. Right after the bridge.

There are cons:

  • This is one of the most expensive parking in Venice and the region.
  • No hourly pay. There is only a daily fee. And here you need to be careful:

If you paid for parking for a day, left the car, and then decided to take it, go somewhere and come back, and on the same day, then you will have to pay the full cost of parking for the day again.

  • If your car is more than 185 cm wide (including side mirrors) - the price is 26 euros
  • If more than 185 cm - 29 euros.

But, it is possible to get a 10% discount and go to the selected place without a queue if you book a place in advance online.

You can also get a discount if your hotel is in partnership with parking. Check the parking website to see if your hotel is on the list.

  • Who cares about the safety of the car: employees are asked to leave the car keys. This is not a whim. As I already wrote, there are a lot of parking spaces, but often cars are parked in 2 rows and sometimes employees need to shuffle so that the car can leave.

But, if you leave the car on the top floor (on the roof), then the keys will not be asked.

Again, you will have to get to the island part of Venice on the People Mover monorail. This time you will need the Marittima stop. The stop is 100 meters away.

On the mainland

There are many options for where to leave the car, and prices for a parking space compared to insular part seem funny at times. But do not forget that in such options there is a big fat minus, especially if you have a lot of things - up to historical center still have to get there. And this is additional money and time. Therefore, think and calculate in advance what is more convenient and profitable.

I hope our information helped you deal with parking lots and now you know where to put your iron horse.

Comfortable travel. See you.

Sincerely,

IN Lately I am often asked the question of where to leave the car in Venice. Agree, the situation is standard: you arrive in Italy for a week and every day is scheduled by the minute. To visit Venice only a day and you are by car. What to do? Where to park? And how not to overpay, we'll talk about it today!

In fact, I can personally distinguish three options for parking a car in Venice:

  1. Leave the car in the parking lot on the island part of the city next to the Venezia Santa Lucia railway station;
  2. Leave the car on the mainland near Porto Marghera or Venezia Mestre railway station and from there take the train to the historic part of the city;
  3. Book a hotel in Venice Metre or nearby cities and from there also travel by train or bus.

Let's look at each item in order.

1. Parking on the island of Venice

This option is the most convenient, but also the most expensive! You probably know that Venice is a car-free city. Yes, there is nowhere to particularly accelerate.
Therefore, you can drive your car to the island of Venice and leave it there in one of the two paid parking lots.

From Treviso, the easiest way to get to Venice is by train.
