Pattaya is one of the largest and most visited resorts in Thailand. What is most remembered by a person who visits this country for the first time? First of all, it's the sun ocean waves, beautiful beaches. To this is added delicious exotic cuisine, unusual excursions and travels, rich and unbridled nature. All this creates an explosion of emotions, just overflowing. And those who have already been there, probably dream of returning. What is it that attracts us so much to rest in this wonderful country, in this popular and friendly resort?

Of course, it is immediately evident that this is a country of very strong contrasts. Screaming luxury of royal palaces against the backdrop of poor neighborhoods, markets side by side with fashionable shopping malls and hypermarkets, luxury hotels next to tiny shacks. But this is a given of the country, which we cannot change. But despite these social contrasts, Thailand is called the land of a million smiles. Wherever you have to communicate with the locals, whether they are rich or poor, everyone smiles at you. And this is not a “glued”, hypocritical smile. Try, even without knowing the language, to turn to a Thai with any question. His desire to help you will be sincere, both of you will laugh heartily that you cannot understand each other. We come to this country for peace of mind, smile in response to a smile. You are truly welcome at this resort.

I would like to note that the prices for all tourist services in Thailand are very democratic. And the resort of Pattaya compares favorably with prices in better side, subject to all other conditions of your holiday. Resting in Pattaya, it is impossible to single out some kind of profile. Everyone, with their individual inclinations, will find entertainment to their taste. Both young and old. Pattaya's nightlife is truly a celebration of life. Guests of other resorts, romantic Koh Samui and fashionable Phuket, come here without regret. But the noisy life of the city does not interfere with a relaxing holiday in hotels. Another huge plus of Pattaya is the geographical location of the resort. The city is located in a picturesque bay protected by mountains. This allows you to relax here even in the "rainy season".

But, the very concept of "rainy season" for Pattaya is greatly exaggerated. If somewhere in this season tropical showers continue for days and weeks, then here the rain can last 1.5-2 hours, after which the sun shines again and everything dries up instantly. Mostly it rains in the afternoon or at night. But this supposedly negative weather phenomenon can positively affect the prices of tours, naturally, in the direction of lower prices.

The city of Pattaya with beaches is conditionally divided into three zones: southern, central and northern. The beaches of the northern zone are especially in demand by lovers of water sports. This is also connected with the geography of the bay, it is more windy here, and there are more waves. Hotels in the city are designed for different tastes of guests and the thickness of their wallets. It must be remembered that city hotels do not have their own beaches. All of them are in municipal ownership, that is, all services are paid, including a visit. Private beaches Only suburban hotels have it. So, you choose.

Pattaya, the "richest" resort in attractions. And everything is not so far away. This is the reserves wildlife, And historical places with ancient palaces and man-made gardens. Their number is so great that it is simply not possible to visit all of them in one vacation. And this is another reason to come back here.

Choosing a resort for recreation, you always need to start, first of all, from your own preferences. What should be on vacation? What entertainment? Or maybe you just need the azure sea and silence? Secondly, of course, you need to look at the cost of the tour.

Thailand is now one of the most accessible countries for Russian tourists. However, even if you plan to visit the kingdom, you have a choice of where exactly to go.

And if the purpose of the trip is to lie in the sun, leaving the beach, perhaps, for fruit (or even not leaving at all), to have breakfast, lunch and dinner included in the tour, and also to go with children to exercise with an animator in the morning, then Pattaya is clearly not suitable for you.

But if you plan to dedicate your vacation to trips, excursions, sightseeing, and in the evenings you want to have fun in one of the clubs and bars, then you have a direct road to Pattaya. This is the city that never sleeps. Such an abundance of bars, as here, you will not find, perhaps, anywhere else in Thailand. What is at least the popular Walking Street, which has already become calling card Pattaya. This is a paradise for single men who have come to rest. Sex tourism developed in Pattaya is a well-known fact, and a good part of the strong half of humanity from different countries travels here in search of free love.

However, this does not mean that a single girl will have nothing to do in Pattaya, because both in Pattaya itself and in its environs there are a lot of interesting placesbeautiful temples, parks, 3D gallery, zoos, amusement parks. Yes, and on the Walking Street mentioned above, you can always find cafes or clubs to your liking. You can also go to have fun in Bangkok (2 hours drive is Pattaya).

In addition, Pattaya is one of the cheapest resorts in Thailand. It is usually cheaper to fly to Pattaya than to any other resort in Thailand. Below here are the cost of groceries, public transport, entertainment services, taxi services, and you can also easily find very budget accommodation. Let's say on the island of Phuket you can't get from point A to point B for 10 baht, how much you will pay in Pattaya for travel around the city on songteo.

Naturally, the cheapness of the resort is justified by the fact that there are also disadvantages. Whatever one may say, Pattaya is a rather dirty city: street vendors and cafe workers often pour waste into the drain, which gives rise to a very specific “aroma”. The sea here is far from ideal: basically, visitors go to swim on the nearest islands, where the water is cleaner, however, due to the large number of tourists, it may not be very comfortable on the islands. The beaches, of course, are cleaned, but you still won’t find fine white sand there. And in the high tide season, there is a high probability of beaches littered with bags and disposable plates.

So, if you are going to rest in Pattaya, weigh all the pros and cons so as not to be disappointed and not spoil your vacation. Be prepared that Pattaya is more of a city of entertainment than a relaxing holiday. Although here, if you wish and in the right mood, you can have a good rest by the sea, drinking pina colada in a lounger overlooking the sea and admiring the sunset, they are amazing here.

I would recommend going to Pattaya to anyone who wants to get a vivid impression of the rest and at the same time not overpay. This resort is considered one of the most economical in Thailand. The main reason for this is not very clean beach in the city itself. After all, because of this, you have to go swimming to the nearest islands. The most popular of them is Ko-Lan. The trip there is not expensive and takes about 40 minutes. But in Pattaya, in addition to a beach holiday, you can find a lot of entertainment. The only caveat - I would not recommend going there with children, at least very young. Firstly, they will not be very interested there, and secondly, Thai food is not very suitable for children's digestion. The most important attraction of Pattaya is the world-famous Walking Street. Moreover, if you walk along it during the day, then it is not at all remarkable. But with the onset of darkness, everything changes dramatically. After all, this street is the capital of world debauchery: there are many brothels, discos and gay clubs. Men like to come there in search of entertainment. So, it is better for couples with children not to go to this street. Pattaya is ideal for relaxing with a company and the girls there have absolutely nothing to be afraid of. This city has enough safe rest. On the other hand, Pattaya is very interesting, a large number of excursions. Moreover, excursions can last from a couple of hours to several days. You need to come to Pattaya for at least two weeks in order to have time to see at least half of the sights and taste delicious Thai cuisine. After visiting Pattaya, many choose other holiday destinations in Thailand, and many, having fallen in love with this city, return there again and again.

Pattaya is on fire! The brightest, liveliest and shocking resort in Thailand. Sea, beaches, hotels, shopping. Photo and video. Nightclubs, shows and entertainment in Pattaya.

  • Hot tours to Thailand

Pattaya is alive. This is the most dynamic, bustling and full-blooded resort in Thailand. Pattaya can fall in love with you for life, you can not understand it and obsessively talk over and over again about the cons of the trip, or you can treat it correctly and get exactly what you want in return: a quiet vacation in a secluded hotel, the crazy nightlife of Walking Street , amazing Thai temples, decent sea, exciting excursions, delicious and unusual food. The main thing is to clearly and reasonably formulate your desires, and Pattaya will help them come true.

In addition, the resort is very affordable in terms of prices, which makes it more affordable than Phuket or Koh Samui, and is conveniently located just a couple of hours drive from Bangkok with its airports and numerous low-cost airlines. This allows you to break away at any time and fly to the other end of Thailand (or even to a new country) for an amount equivalent to a good dinner with drinks in a not very pretentious restaurant.

Districts of Pattaya

Tourist Pattaya lies between the sea and the Sukhumvit Road and is conveniently "cut" through streets into several large areas, so there should not be any particular problems with orientation to the terrain. In addition, on every corner there are free advertising brochures with more or less intelligible maps.

All above North Pattaya Rd - conditional North Pattaya. There is not much entertainment here, but there are enough local shops, inexpensive cafes and budget housing in the area with the wonderful Russian ear name Naklua, as well as more expensive - in the Wongamat microdistrict, interesting with small private beaches coastal hotels. An important point on the map is the wooden Temple of Truth.

A slice of resort pie between North and South Pattaya Rd - Central Pattaya. Noisy, fun, drunk, crowded - these are pluses and minuses, to each his own. Parallel to the sea are Beach and Second Rd - streets with a bunch of shops, bars, cafes, massage parlors, there will always be inexpensive accommodation, a variety of drinks, food, company and entertainment. The beach does not cause sympathy, the water is dirty, there is not enough space. Central Pattaya will suit desperate party-goers and thirsty for a special nightlife Walking street, which, in fact, is the main attraction of the area.

The area below South Pattaya Rd is South Pattaya. In it, the tourist is interested in the coastal Pratamnak and Jomtien. These are quite quiet areas with a focus on family vacations and related entertainment and infrastructure. Beaches and water are cleaner, debauchery is many times less, the price tag in hotels is higher, but this is a reasonable price for the advantages listed above.

Another option is to settle behind the Sukhumvit highway. Here you can rent very decent housing for little money, eat inexpensively and tasty in establishments that are not focused on “Russo-tourists” during the day, and sleep peacefully at night, without tossing and turning due to the noise of a nearby disco or neighbors who have gone too far. The downside is the distance, you will have to rent a bike or a car (and give up alcohol) or put a permanent article “by taxi” in the budget.

What to try

It so happened that Pattaya is no longer quite a Thai city, the flows of tourists from different countries, an endless series of those who are trying to make money on them - and also from different countries, mix linguistic and cultural boundaries into a strange vinaigrette. This is especially noticeable in the local cuisine. In cafes and restaurants, national delicacies are reshaped to the requirements of capricious "bags" or boring white pensioners, spicy becomes insipid, sour - sweet, oriental - European, and cheap - expensive. This is especially true for establishments with Russian letters on the menu.

But this multinational cocktail has its advantages. For example, in Pattaya, Indian cuisine is very well presented - good opportunity discover wonderful flatbreads and gravy sauces. You see several Indian companies at the tables of an Indian cafe - feel free to stop and start studying the mysterious menu.

If you want to try exactly Thai food, then again focus on the natives, give up the restaurant and buy pla pao fish, rolled in salt, stuffed with fragrant herbs and baked on coals almost in front of you, right on the street, try lightly fried and squeezed through a special press crop-crop squid, and for dessert, order roti or canom-buang pancakes stuffed with mango, coconut flakes, banana and other goodies from the mobile vendor-chef on a moped.

And of course, Pattaya would not be the same without stalls with fried cockroaches, crickets, caterpillars, larvae and the like, once crawling reptiles. They cannot be called a purely local dish, more often it is an attraction for tourists. But why not?

Cafes and restaurants in Pattaya

The resort has many cafes and restaurants: from Asian cuisine to quality French cuisine. There are restaurants with exotic dishes: rare seafood, ostrich, crocodile.

Catering establishments in Pattaya can be divided into nondescript eateries for locals, inexpensive street cafes for everyone, and everything else designed for a tourist, rich and not very rich. The former can scare away with excessive simplicity, not the most ideal cleanliness, and the menu is only in Thai. Their pros are real Thai food, amazing prices and the hospitality of the hosts. A really hearty lunch without alcohol in such a place will cost 100-120 THB.

For a soft drink in an inexpensive street cafe for tourists and middle-class Thais, they ask for 30-80 THB, not the most fancy dish with rice or noodles will cost 40-80 THB, the famous tom yum can cost 80-200 THB per plate, but, to Unfortunately, the relationship between the quality of soup and its price is not always traced. The average check in the food court for a set of first, second and salad is 150-200 THB. Often this is a good opportunity to get acquainted with the local cuisine without pointing a finger at the sky: understandable and convenient pictures above the distribution lines introduce the composition of the dish, its price and appearance.

Tourist establishments offer cuisine from different countries, many specialize in European and Thai dishes, the price for a serving of rice with chicken or pork can start from 120-160 THB and up to astronomical sums in really cool and rated restaurants.

Entertainment and attractions in Pattaya

Many consider Walking street, bars and the sex industry of all colors, trends and styles flourishing around them to be the main attraction of Pattaya, but fortunately, the resort is not limited to this "hot" set at all and offers a whole scattering of activities and excursions for every taste.

The majestic and vibrant Thai temples will help you stop and think. Perhaps the most popular (but how else if it can be seen from everywhere?) is the local Big Buddha or Big Buddha Hill. Here you can see the whole complex religious monuments and architectural compositions, get the blessing of the monks and cleanse the karma, buy souvenirs and contribute to the upkeep of the temple by donating a small amount. And at the top of the hill a little cooler and fresher - also a reason to arrange an excursion. Another famous object cult - the wooden Temple of Truth, standing on Cape Rachvat in the Naklua region. Around there are a garden, a cafe, you can ride elephants or ATVs, admire the sea from the cape, in a word - spend the whole day slowly and measuredly.

The complete opposite of temples, but still an acquaintance with the local culture, will be a visit to Tiffany's show. Only those who have seen with their own eyes have the right to snort or shake their heads in disapproval. They say that even the most severe Chelyabinsk and Tagil hard workers left the famous performance of the cabaret of transvestites with satisfied faces and whistling their favorite tunes. You can hardly think of a better ad. Oh, and Tiffany is one of the top ten shows in the world according to Travel.com magazine.

Mini Siam Park will help you see the whole world in 3 hours, which has collected on its territory miniature copies of famous sights from America, Asia, Asia and Europe: the Egyptian pyramids, the Eiffel Tower, St. Basil's Cathedral. If all this has already been examined in the original, then you should pay attention to the beautiful copies of the most famous Thai temples and pagodas. Also lovers of miniatures should like the collection of the Museum of Bottles. In just a few rooms, there were about 300 bottles with copies of sights painstakingly collected inside them. It is also very convenient that the museum is located next to Mini Siam Park.

Pattaya for children

Perhaps, Pattaya will not get rid of the “adult resort” stamp for a long time, but serious work is being done in this direction, and rest with a child is no longer perceived as something extravagant and unacceptable.

In May 2016, Thailand's largest water park RamaYana was opened 30 km south of Pattaya. More than 50 guests of all ages are expected water complexes and attractions, many of which, according to the representatives of the park, have no analogues in Southeast Asia. You can order a transfer to the water park directly on the website entertainment establishment. Given the scope of the park, it is better to go straight to the opening.

With older guys, you can go to the Dream World amusement park, which is located on the northern outskirts of Bangkok. It takes about 2 hours to get here from Pattaya; tours to Dream World are offered by many tour agencies of the resort. There is no analogue in Pattaya itself yet.

Other entertainment for children is getting to know the living world of Thailand. One of the most important zoos in the country Khao Kheow is located north of Pattaya. It will take at least a day to explore the famous open zoo, where you can walk next to the animals and feed them. But it's better to be prepared to be asked to visit the menagerie again. South of Pattaya, Nong Nooch Tropical Park awaits guests.

The sights of Pattaya on your own, which ones are better to visit on your own, and which ones to take an organized tour?

Excursions in Pattaya on your own, is it worth it?

There is an opinion on the forums about Thailand that it is always better to go on all the excursions on your own, that the guide only interferes and you can see more of everything.

To be honest, I don’t quite share this point of view. For example, if you decide to visit the Elephant Farm with a small child, then you can only get there by taxi. And why overpay for a taxi if the tour costs the same as the entrance ticket. Those. in fact, you will be picked up from the hotel for free and returned home - It is more profitable to take an excursion to such places.

I will add that many attractions in Pattaya have hidden places, which even long-livers do not know about, for example, almost no one knows where you can ride elephants, and you are also unlikely to find the long-necked Koren tribe yourself.

And the last point when it is worth taking an organized tour instead of an independent one is exclusive tours. So it will be very difficult for you to get to Monkey Island near Pattaya, the Oyster Farm and many other places where excursions are organized.

For the rest, I self-guided tours and a trip to the Sights of Pattaya on your own!

We tried to compile a list of which Pattaya Attractions are better to visit on your own. We highly recommend having such a list on hand if it suddenly becomes cloudy, or just in the mood to visit something new.

Khao Kheo Zoo

The zoo is a must visit! I do not advise taking a tour here, because. they pass many interesting places, i.e. with a tour you will see 50% of what is here. You are unlikely to be taken to the section to aquatic animals, where through transparent glass you can watch a swimming hippopotamus or penguins diving from the second floor, you may not even be stopped at the birdcage, where there are multi-level transitions with waterfalls and huge Toucans, you will be brought up to only one approach to the giraffe, where there is a crowd of Chinese, but they will not stop from the other side, where you can calmly admire all the animals from the Height. Highlight for Zoo better than all day and be sure to use public transport: own bike, taxi, rent an electric car at the entrance. Although at the very beginning you have to stop every 5 minutes and this is wildly annoying - then the distances increase dramatically to 5 kilometers.

Hill of the Golden Buddha

Excursions to the Golden Buddha are brought in so far as. Rather, they are simply imported to. They don’t deliver to the Beautiful Chinese Garden at all. Of course, if you take a tour, you can get free transport, because public transport does not go here. But if you eat on your own, you can visit the Golden Buddha, the Chinese Garden, the observation deck, and end the day at the chic Zucchini and Kondoma restaurant.

Aquarium Underwater World Pattaya

After the reconstruction in 2014, an excellent aquarium, I liked it much more than in Bangkok, and Pattaya costs 2 times more. If you are not spoiled by excellent oceanariums, you want to see how sharks swim above you, feed the fish from your hands, look at stingrays and much, much more - it is better to go by yourself. For the price you will not win, but you will have much more time. I spent probably 4 hours here, constantly returning to the previous halls or waiting for the next group to pass.

Nong Nooch Garden

One of the most interesting places in Pattaya! Many people come to this city just for this garden and I will tell you honestly that if you are not spoiled for travel and do not fly to Europe for the weekend, then this garden will blow your mind! It's definitely worth spending the whole day there. Nong Nooch Garden is a stunning mix of landscaping and Thai artifice. If you want to bring from Thailand nice photos- then you are in the Park Nong Nooch.

Visit Nong Nooch on your own: It is located about 30 km from the city, far from the Tak-Tuk route. But at the park itself you can order a free transfer from your hotel. It will be quite interesting for children, because. there are many interactive sculptures that you can touch

Temple of Truth

One of the most famous temples Thailand and the most famous in Pattaya! One of the Thai millionaires initially builds the Thai wonder of the world and he gets a magnificent wooden temple! The level of skill is simply amazing, so I highly recommend going there. Every hour there is a tour in Russian, but I didn’t really like it, because. a lot of "statistics" and few live stories.

Visit the Temple of Truth on your own: Getting to the Temple of Truth is quite difficult, the road goes through small lanes and with constant turns, so either take a taxi or an online map. The cafe on site is expensive and tasteless, and the entertainment is expensive, so the kids might get bored.

Miniature Park Mini Siam

A park in which the main sights of the whole world are recreated in miniature. More precisely, the park is divided into 2 parts: Sights of the world and sights of Thailand. The park is especially beautiful in the evening, when all the sights are illuminated. That is why it is better to visit the park around 17.00, so you will be able to see everything both during daylight hours and at night illumination. Also at the entrance you can take a free parasol from the sun, because. There is very little shade in the area.

Visit Mini Siam Park on your own: It is located on Sukhumvit within the city, so you can easily get there by tuk-tuk. Ice cream and excellent brewed coffee are sold on the territory, and immediately next door is McDonald's, Karting, Plant Market, Thai Fighting Arena, where real serious tournaments are held! The kids love it here!

Crocodile Farm and Million Years Stone Park

From the crocodile farm I expected boring tourist place, but I was very wrong. The owners of the farm organized more than worthy entertainment! Most of all I liked to feed the crocodiles with chicken from a fishing rod, crocodile steak, rock garden! Disliked: Crocodile show.
Visit the crocodile farm on your own: You can get to it only by your own transport, which is of course a minus, but I wouldn’t go here with a guide, either. groups ran past us several times. The problem with the tours is that the guide has nothing to tell - everything is a remake, and there are a lot of excursions per day, so they just run with tourists along the main route, then they give them 30 minutes to walk on their own and immediately take them away. And it’s very cool to take a walk on the farm - there are active tigers, and there is a zoo with giraffes, and large playgrounds and much more. Therefore, it is better to order a transfer, but not an excursion. Worth a visit with children, for them there is a lot of interesting things.

Three Kingdoms Park (Park of the three kingdoms)

Very nice Chinese style theme park, there is a free car park museum very close by. Here you can rent Chinese National costumes and take great photos. Overall excellent quiet place with good views.

The Park of the Three Kingdoms belongs to the non-tourist attractions of Pattaya, moreover, it is located on its outskirts, therefore public transport doesn't go here. During the winter, we really liked to come here for a walk, but if I had been in Pattaya for just a couple of weeks, I would have chosen something else.

Tiger Zoo in Si Racha

As the name implies, this is a zoo where great attention is paid to tigers. Here you can feed tiger cubs from a bottle (this is the most mi-mi-mi, all the girls are delighted), play with them in enclosures, watch a tiger show. Of course, there are other animals: elephants, piglets, and goats. Everyone can be fed and everyone can ride. Except for the cubs, the zoo is inferior to Khao Kheo, but you can go.

Go to the Si Racha Tiger Zoo on your own: Children, of course, will be interested, but there are tigers + Thai gouging. If the child behaves inappropriately, then the tiger will rush. The zoo is 40 km away. from Pattaya and 7 from the highway. (But very close to Khao Kheo).

sheep farms

For 2016, there are 2 large sheep farms in Pattaya. One is simpler, where it is pleasant to relax: you launch the children into the rabbit aviary, and you yourself are located in the shade of the trees with a delicious cocktail. The second one is more touristy - the sheep there are like from a cartoon: perfectly clean, with very soft wool, on the very territory there are a large number of places for interesting photos, but it’s just like in a museum, don't sit and relax.

Silver Lake

Famous Thai vineyard. Very tasty grapes and homemade wine are grown and sold here. They can only be bought here. The park has become famous, because. he was the first to put interesting elements for photographs on his territory. Various flower swings, or a huge pumpkin with a huge watering can.

Visit Silver Lake on your own: Little shade, large area for walking under open sky. Everything else is very interesting.

elephant village

The elephant village is very ambiguous. It was generally the first attraction that we visited in Pattaya on our own. It turned out that there are several farms in Pattaya: about 3, and you can ride elephants almost everywhere. The best elephant show takes place in Nong Nooch Park. And the skating itself is rather boring, you sit and swing and you understand that for the next 30 minutes you will ride only 500 meters, i.e. you can actually see the destination you will be driving. But on the other hand, the guide told a story that there used to be a lot of elephants in Thailand and they were used for work, and then it was banned, and the mahouts could not feed the elephants, so they were simply shot. For example, in Cambodia and Laos at one time there were no elephants at all. The Thais came up with Elephant Farms so that tourists would come to admire and feed the animals. This is the only way to save these animals. Therefore, we try to feed the elephants anywhere =) They are cool.

Transvestite show: Alcazar show, Colosseum, Tiffany

All shows are about the same and all follow the same scenario: some popular song starts, a boy dressed as a girl comes out to it and opens his mouth, and other boys dressed as girls dance around. It used to be unusual for us, so the show got huge popularity, but now the boys dress up as girls, grow a beard and sing on TV, so the show is visited simply because of the image, and not because there is something interesting.

floating market

The place is interesting, but 100% touristic. Those. 3 channels were dug from scratch, merchants were launched there with small tourist items and a mark-up of 300%, set up around shops and called it all a floating market. I would go for the exotic, but everything is very sleek and very small. If you are in Thailand for the first time, then you can see it.

Visit the floating market on your own: children will be bored, you can get on a white tuk-tuk, which goes around Sukhumvit.

Dinosaur Park

Conceived as an amazing place for walks with children, when you meet moving dinosaur statues in full size among the jungle. But in 2014, the park is in decline. There are no visitors, the statues are falling apart, nothing moves, the entrance costs 500 baht. The only plus is that at the entrance to the Park there is a giant dinosaur skull, the size of an adult. He draws attention. But there is nothing to do inside!

Wat Yan Temple

current temple complex. Of all the temples around Pattaya, Wat Yan is the most unusual. Many people admire its shape, many people admire its decorated bushes, many people really like it inside the temple. There are wax statues of mnas - they look amazing! More precisely, I would advise the temple itself to visit precisely because of them, because. Wat Yan, upon closer inspection, does not seem so chic, especially since you cannot go inside it, and the gates boarded up with boards generally spoil the impression. Behind the temple is a mountain with an observation deck and an imprint of the Buddha. The climb is hard and hot, but the view is not worth it. Therefore, this is not a mandatory part of the tour.

Visit Wat Yan on your own: public transport does not run, children may be bored, women need clothes with ankles and shoulders covered, men with knees covered.

chinese temple

Very close to Wat Yan is a Chinese temple. And this is what I recommend. To be honest, I am not a fan of art, or rather I do not understand it. But the temple contains very interesting sculptures - there are also soldiers from the Chinese terracotta army, there are Shaolin monks, there is a balcony with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Nearby there is a park where you can buy and release turtles into the lake, or feed the fish.

visit Chinese temple on one's own: public transport does not run, children will be bored, you need to walk around the temple without shoes, all the inscriptions are in Chinese and English.

Rock image of the Golden Buddha

The largest rock image of Buddha in Thailand. It is laser cut into the rock and filled with gold leaf. Around there is a small park with gazebos. Everything is very clean and tidy. One of the elephant farms is hidden in the bus stop. It will have to be looked for, because. there are no identifying marks. It's a pity, but in the evenings the rock is not illuminated, otherwise it would be very beautiful.

Koh Lan Island and its observation decks.

Koh Lan is the closest island to Pattaya. paradise beaches. The swim is only 40 minutes. You can stay overnight on Koh Lan, and many people love it for its silence and the starry sky, because at night the island dies out, and in the morning you are the first to find yourself on the beach. I like to ride around Koh Lan on a bike, because. amazing views from its mountains!

Samet Island

Koh Samet is considered a national nature reserve and its beaches are considered to be some of the best in Thailand. In addition to tours to local hotels, tourists from Pattaya are also brought here to see good beaches. It has perfect white fine sand and magnificent blue sea. At night, tables are set up on the beach or blankets are spread out, and magnificent fire shows are arranged on the beach for everyone. I highly recommend that you go here, but not on a tour, but on your own for the weekend.

KoSichang Island

An island that is presented as a historical excursion. It really has something to see: This and Royal Palace, and the Katian temple, carved into the rock, and stunning observation platforms. There is also a small beach on the island, which is completely empty on weekdays and fills up on holidays. Everyone leaves for the island from the city of Sirachi, where there is also a lot of interesting things to see (pool with giant turtles)

Lookouts in Pattaya

There are 2 official observation platforms in Pattaya. One round-the-clock is very close to the Golden Buddha on Pratamnak, and the second is near the port with a large luminous inscription Pattaya. The second one closes at nightfall. Of course, every skyscraper can be considered a viewing platform, and the restaurant in the Pattaya Park tower is also very popular.

Go to the observation decks on your own: Public transport does not go here, and there are no footpaths, many do not know and have to walk along the roadway. But when you get around each there is a lot of interesting things that you can’t see on an organized tour.

Temple of Hell and Heaven (Wat Saen Suk)

Located 60 kilometers from Pattaya. The place is strange, in it in the form of sculptures the punishments that await sinners are shown. And the sculptures are very creepy. A murderer whose stomach is torn open and a raven eats his intestines, or a woman who drinks hot lead for drunkenness. In general, the place is very unloved.
Visit the temple of heaven and hell on your own: there is no public transport, all signs are in Thai, rarely in English, better without children

chicken king farm

It is difficult to call this place an attraction, but the building is quite unusual, so it is often found in guidebooks. In fact, this is a banquet hall with a beautiful area. I wouldn't go specifically. The decoration of the territory is purely in Thai style: There are antique statues, but for Thais they are too white, so the statues are dressed in real colorful clothes.

Go to the farm of the chicken king on your own: Children will be bored, you can take the White tuk-tuk, which goes along Sukhumvit. Entrance to the territory is paid.

Museum of 3D paintings (Art paradise pattaya)

Museum of interactive paintings, when the painting can go beyond its limits and you are invited to become a part of this painting. It is in Pattaya that the museum is very well thought out and they try to follow it so that there are no visible scuffs from frequent photographs, or peeling walls, etc. But on the other hand, such galleries have now begun to appear in all cities, including here in Russia (there are definitely already in St. Petersburg and Moscow).

Visit Art paradise pattaya on your own: can be reached by public transport, children really like it.

Cartoon Network Amazone

Forty kilometers from Pattaya, a water park was opened in 2014. Those. there is a small water park in Pattaya itself, near the Pattaya Park Hotel and there is a new Cartoon Networl Amazone. This is a big theme park with lots of slides.

Go to the water park on your own: white tuk-tuks go around Sukhumvit, of course the children will be interested, but the prices for the water park are still too big.

Aquapark "Romayana"

To be honest, when it opened, I did not even pay attention. He has such a name, some kind of soviet, as if a very rich Roma opened some kind of business for his Yana, we usually open beauty salons, but here is a water park, why not. But more than a year has passed and there are a huge number of positive reviews on it and almost no negative ones. The only complaint about the water park is the price and the buffet. The buffet is rubbish and everything is overpriced.

Open from 10:00 to 18:00
Price: 1500 baht per adult and 1100 baht per child. Locker for things 50 baht.

How to relax in Pattaya to get a lot of new sensations, see all the most interesting and at the same time have time to relax on the beach and relax. We have compiled a rich holiday plan in Pattaya, combining the most interesting excursions, attractions and beach holidays.

How to relax in Pattaya is interesting

So, you are already counting the long-awaited days until the moment when you get on the plane and fly away to Thailand happy. Rest is just around the corner. You are in anticipation of new sensations and imagine how everything will turn out, study information on how best to relax in Pattaya.

Someone under the word rest means lying on the beach, swimming in sea water and sunbathing, so much so that then everyone would envy your bronze tan. And of course you can not do without eating local delicacies.

And for some, rest in Pattaya is primarily associated with a rich program, with excursions and sightseeing. And already as accompanying elements is the sun, the sea and the beach.

Today we will talk about the second category of tourists. About those who came for impressions and want to take with them a lot of happy memories and a lot of photos.

How to plan your vacation in Pattaya

Such an idea came to me after I had heard and read enough of people, our ordinary tourists, who, headlong tired, dragged themselves through all the excursions in a row that they bought on the first day, and then, exhausted, they barely even reached their beach.

All because it was better to plan some moments of rest in advance.

What to do in Pattaya and how to spend your vacation interesting

On your first day, it is better not to go on any excursions. Relax! Most often, tourists are brought to Pattaya after lunch. Tired from the road, you naturally first want to take a shower and take a breath.

Only by 5-6 pm you will be free. And it would not be entirely reasonable to run to the excursion tent and take at least something for today, no matter what, the main thing is to take it somewhere.

Don't worry, you'll have time to do everything, you're on vacation, so take a rest and don't rush to get anywhere on the first day. Better book 1-2 short excursions for tomorrow. For example, Nong Nooch Garden in the morning and the Colosseum Show in the evening.

What to do in Pattaya on the first evening

On the first evening, you must take a camera and it does not matter that you are not tanned yet! The first pictures then upon arrival home will be viewed with tenderness.

So, we took the camera, went to the shower, now we are going to the restaurant. You are hungry from the road. And then a thousand and one smells hit your nose. And what a choice of seafood ... mmm!

Choose any restaurant or cafe you like, preferably with a sea view. We order everything that we dreamed about for so long before the holidays. We are starting to feel like we are on vacation!

After dinner, we go to the sea and walk along the promenade. Looking at the sea, thoughts come to mind, how tomorrow you will be splashing in it.

This is how the first day should go. Not tense, not saturated, but calm and unhurried. Everything will be in time, do not worry, because tomorrow will be a new day.

Day 1: Nong Nooch tour, lunch, beach, show with transvestites

Today can already be called the beginning of your full vacation.

In the morning, and you wake up surprisingly very early, a minibus will come for you and take you on an excursion to.

How to relax in Pattaya and see all the most interesting? Start with an easy tour of Madame Nong Nooch's Garden

Tour to Nong Nooch lasts from 8 am to 1 pm. Therefore, at lunch you will already be free, although emotionally charged and with a bunch of photos of a beautiful garden.

You can devote your free time to the beach and going to cafes. Until the evening you are free.

And in the evening, closer to eight o'clock, a fascinating show with transvestites awaits you, which will not leave anyone indifferent. We advise you to forget about the fact that they are trances and enjoy the costumes and dances.

We visited similar cabaret shows in Phuket, you can read our impressions and.

Day 2. Trip to the islands. Excursion to Koh Samet or on your own to Koh Lan

We ended up at sea. And since the sea and beaches in Pattaya are far from the best, we will go to the island for a beach holiday. I suggest taking a day trip to.

All day on the island we enjoy the white sand, we are amazed at how clean the water is. The main thing is not to overdo it with a tan, often smear with cream. And do not forget to take a lot of pictures in a swimsuit, so that later you can show your friends and acquaintances, saying that in Pattaya you can also get a quality beach holiday.

On Koh Samet on your own

But if you have limited time or do not want to strain, then it will be easier and faster to go to nearest island Ko Lan.

On Koh Lan on my own

If you don’t want to spend money on an excursion to Koh Samet, you can independently go to the nearest one from Pattaya. It is a little less exotic than Samet and wears more tourists. But comparing with a beach holiday in Pattaya itself, Koh Lan will definitely impress you with the blueness of the water.

Day 3. Khao Kheo Zoo and rest

Everything should be in moderation. In order not to expose our pampered and already, whatever one may say, slightly reddened body, today we will spare him and in the morning we will go to.

Coming to Thailand and not going to see kangaroos, sloths, lions and a huge number of other animals would be an omission. We will not allow it, because we organize our vacation rationally and in a variety of ways.

As in the case of Nong Nooch Garden, after the zoo at lunch you will again be free and left to your own devices. You can spend this time at the hotel by the pool, go to the beach, and in the evening visit a massage parlor and dine in a restaurant.

Day 4. Temple of Truth and Walking Street

On the fourth day, you are already comfortable and can go somewhere on your own without the help of travel agencies.

In the morning, you relax in a hotel or on the beach, and in the afternoon take public transport, which is called here. The fare costs only 10 baht (0.3$). By minibus you reach one of the most popular temples in Pattaya - the Temple of Truth, the largest wooden temple in the world.

Everything is simple there. Buy a ticket and see the temple up and down for as long as you wish. The photos are very impressive.

After cultural program, the program is not cultural. We take a tuk-tuk in reverse direction and we go to the famous street of debauchery Walking Street in central Pattaya.

Many people say that if you haven't been to Walking Street, then you haven't been to Pattaya either. Such an opinion, of course, is exaggerated, but why not go. It will be entertaining, because you have not seen this before.

Stop by a bar along the way, order food and drink, and have an extraordinary evening. And while the rest of the tourists dine in their boring cafes, you will remain in the epicenter of the evening life of the city of sin. There will be something to remember at your leisure and tell your friends.

By the way, in most bars you can play billiards for free if you order something to drink.

Day 5. Rest on the beach of the Dancing Girl

What an intense and bright day we had yesterday, and especially in the evening. Today we just need silence and inaction. Yes, and yesterday the body rested from sunburn. You can again devote time to a beach holiday.

After the island of Samet or Koh Lana, we have already spoiled ourselves. Now Pattaya beaches look depressing. But we have one trump card up our sleeve. We are going to the beach with a very original name - "". We will spend the whole day under the palm trees in an embrace with soft drinks.

Do not forget to put on another swimsuit so that there are even more different photos for your loved ones.

And in the evening after the beach, you manage your time as you want. But it's better not to strain and not repeat yesterday's adventures in the bars on Volkin Street. Since tomorrow there is a two-day trip to another province, where a completely different Thailand will appear before you.

Day 6-7. Excursion to the river Kwai in the province of Kanchanaburi

So, we take the Bangkok Classic tour. All the most exciting for the first acquaintance with Bangkok you will get 100%. See the city, ride the riverboats, stroll through the Emerald Palace and dine at the restaurant of one of Bangkok's tallest buildings, Baiyoke Sky.

Tall skyscrapers and a ride on the river buses

Unique temples

Day 11 Ramayana Water Park

Although yesterday's excursion was not as tiring as the two-day excursion to the River Kwai, you still want to be filled with the energy of the sun and idleness again. Isn't this why people come on vacation?) We're going to.

We are delivered in a comfortable minibus to the largest and heaped up attractions water park. And if until now you are somehow biased, like I once was, about water parks, after Ramayana you will change your mind about this type of entertainment.

No need to ride water slides although I assure you that you will not resist them

You can just relax, sunbathe, swim in amazing pools, explore the vast territory of the Ramayana and say to yourself: It's right that you came here.

It is best to come to the water park by the very opening, or at least by 11 o'clock if you want to get some sleep. And stay until closing. Personally, we lacked 5 hours spent in this paradise for adults.

Day 12. Military Beach

Water parks and swimming pools are, of course, good, but the sea cannot replace anything! And even though the vacation is already coming to an end and there is noticeably less money left, we still have a good beach in stock, which we will see today and spend the whole day, leaving only the evening free.

We do not recommend the Central Ptt, since there is the dirtiest sea, it is always noisy and there are the most people. In the evening, prostitutes and trances walk around everywhere. Not safe. With children, in no case do not settle in the center! We also do not recommend distant areas such as Na Jomtien, Ambassador, Bang Saray, because there you will be very far from everything.

When is the best time to go to Pattaya

How to relax in Pattaya so that everything is perfect? In addition to our advice, come in season to have a 100% vacation in Pattaya and not adjust your plans due to the weather.

The best time is from mid-November to March. At this time, there are no jellyfish and a clear sea, both in Pattaya and on the islands. No rain and sunny weather every day. You will not languish in the heat, but the gray rainy weather will not spoil your plans and photos, as if you came on vacation to Pattaya in low season, from April to August or during the peak of the rainy season, September-October.

Have a good holiday everyone!

Over the years, Pattaya has held the lead in popularity among tourists from many countries. Here is everything you need for good rest- nightly entertainment, rich excursion program and several beaches of fairly good quality.

Now the city is losing points in comparison with the same Phuket, Krabi province and Koh Samui. But, nevertheless, it makes sense to look at the city in a new way, because there are many interesting things here. In recent years, two modern water parks have been built, magnificent tigers await visitors at the Si Racha Zoo, and popular national shows program is constantly updated.

Although the city beaches of Pattaya may not seem picturesque enough for a sophisticated tourist, it is still the gentle coast of the Gulf of Thailand. It is warm here all year round, delicious exotic fruits are in abundance, and hospitable Thais are always glad to see guests.
