How to get from langkawi to kuala. Ferries from Thailand to Langkawi. Oceanarium Aquaria KLCC

The next morning was overcast. In this regard, we decided to rent a car and go to explore the island, plus we had to resolve the issue with Lipe, because the next day we had to vacate the room. They asked to arrange a car at the reception, they chose a car of a local brand 1.3. automatic, price 128 plus 18 insurance, total 146 ringit per day. They ask to return the car with a full tank of gasoline, we returned it with an incomplete one - one strip was spent, we paid the agent 20 ringit for gasoline. Another time they took a car, decided to refuel themselves, drove in the evening to a gas station with gasoline 18 ringit - 10 liters, refueled full tank, we got to the hotel, a full tank was on, an agent came in the morning, we went to check - one strip was off. What happened to him during the night, xs, in general, I had to pay again, it's a shame. It was a little unusual at first with left-hand traffic, who lets whom, who turns where, but we got used to nothing.

The first stop was the Aquarium, by the way, there is the nearest ATM. We liked the aquarium, there were not many people, we calmly walked there. After that we went to the cable car. It is something! I liked it very much. Worth to visit! The cabins are closed, they lift high up the mountain, to where there are already clouds. There are two stops where viewing platforms and bridge. The view from the top of the island is, of course, amazing!

After cable car let's go look for a tour agency and decide your fate tomorrow. The hotel, which we initially noticed for ourselves, was full, we were offered another one, saying that it was much better than ours, we, naive, hung our ears and agreed. Hotel Varin beach resort, Pattaya beach. You can choose the time to ride on a Speedboat, either in the morning at 9.00 or at 14.00, we chose at 14.00, just in time to return the car and vacate the room at 12. The travel agency sends a car for you, picks you up from the hotel at 12 o'clock and takes you to the port. The same is true on the way back, you can leave Lipe in the morning, you can at 16 o'clock, the driver meets you at the port of Langkawi and takes you to the hotel. Speaking of time. Keep in mind that Lipa has a different time, the difference is an hour ago. We found out about this only on the day of departure, and did not understand whether the departure was at 16 o'clock local time, or the time of Langkawi, in general, in any case, you need to come to customs 2 hours before departure, so after passing customs procedures on Lipa settled down in the nearest cafe and visited Thai massage.

So, departure from Langkawi, Telaga port, opposite the USSR restaurant. We filled out the necessary customs documents (passports are taken and issued at Lipa) and went for a walk for 2 hours. We went to the bank (located right behind the gas station), changed ringgits to bahts, people from our group were changing in front of us, we were the last in the queue, we got the last 3000 baht. Therefore, also keep in mind that you should not postpone the exchange for later. Although it’s easy to change money on Lipa. We went to have lunch at the USSR restaurant, ate delicious okroshka, talked in Russian with the waitress, the time flew by. We got to Lipe in 40 minutes.

Lipe. The island left two impressions. Of course, the beach and the sea are beyond competition. White sand, transparent blue water, Beautiful undersea world make you admire. But the rest is disappointing. There is too much civilization on Lipa, as it turned out. Firstly, motor boats. They are everywhere, and every time you swim, you are afraid that someone will run over your head. Especially a lot of them on Pattaya beach. There is very little place for swimming, although it is fenced with buoys, boats still go through it. Plus the never-ending roar of the engines… In general, on the second day we went in search of more a quiet place, found it on Sunset Beach, there is only one hotel and very few people and boats. Second minus , these are stray dogs. Rather, they seem to be homemade, almost everyone has collars, but they live on the beach, mostly under sunbeds, they immediately take care of their needs, I have seen it more than once, not very pleasant. Thirdly, this is garbage, especially outside the beach, even on the same walking street, somehow they apparently don’t know how to get rid of garbage, garbage cans are full everywhere and around them, hence there are a lot of flies. In principle, the Varin beach resort hotel is not bad in principle, but the minus is the proximity to the walking street, we had a cafe from this street behind the wall of the house, there from 6 in the morning they started rattling pots and beating meat, because the walls in the houses are cardboard - the audibility is amazing. Okay, no more negativity. Anyway, positive emotions from Lipe we received: sunbathing, swimming, going for a Thai massage, I really liked the evening atmosphere on Pattaya Beach, when tables from all cafes and restaurants are taken out to the beach and they offer to cook freshly caught fish to your taste. Lipa cost us 1000 ringit for 3 days for two (speedboat + hotel + transfer around Langkawi).

At the Lanai hotel this time we got a room without a balcony, but twice as large in size. In the morning we took a car for 2 days, went to the 7 Wells waterfalls (very high uphill, many steps, but the waterfall is beautiful), then we visited crocodile farm(shows are held at 11.15 and at 14.15), the next day we went to the Bird Park and wildlife(I liked it very much, you can feed almost all the birds and animals, you buy special food there, I especially recommend it to those who will relax with children, take the time to go there, the children will be delighted), visited Kuah, famous square eagle. The rest of the time was devoted to the beach. On the last day we went on an excursion to the lake of the pregnant maiden. The tour is called Island hopping, it costs RM45 per person, in addition to the lake, the price includes feeding the eagles and visiting the wild beach.

I really liked the seafood restaurant on Lankawi, which I already mentioned, it is located approximately in the area of the Casa del Mar hotel, if you move from Lanay, then before reaching Casa del Mar, it is called, if I am not mistaken, Ordio rio or something like that . After 20 hours there are no empty seats and those who want to get in stand in line. All dishes are very tasty and look like real masterpieces, I especially liked the tiger prawns, almost the size of a chicken leg.

Kuala Lumpur. Arriving at low cost terminal, we decided to hand over one of the two suitcases to the storage room we had already mastered at KLIA, from there we take the express train to the center, and there we took the metro to our hotel, we saw on the map that it was not far from the metro. The KLIA Express costs RM35 per person and takes about 30 minutes. We dealt with the metro without any problems, the cost depends on the distance of the trip, for example, we had to travel 2 stops, we paid 3.60 ringit for two. It was so interesting and unusual to watch the subway without a driver, we didn’t understand why there was a janitor on the windshield ... We were settled in the hotel on the 23rd floor, a view of the TV tower, the hotel is good, there is a TV in the room, a hairdryer, a kettle, tea / coffee, an iron, ironing board, safe. The next day, in the morning, we moved to the center to Petronasy, we couldn’t get tickets, there were a lot of people and there was already an announcement that there were no tickets, it was about 9. We went for a walk in search of a sightseeing bus. We were looking for it for a long time ... For those who wish, I will inform you that it is better to go to the tourism center, it is located not far from Petronasov, the first bus stop is there, you can buy tickets there, or there is still a stop at the Aquarium, but it is not visible if you approach aquarium from Petronasov, the stop will be to the right of the entrance on the corner of the building. The ticket costs 38 ringit per person. In my opinion, they start walking at 10 o'clock. We got off at stops: TV tower (entrance 38 ringit per person, great review), National historical Museum(2 ringit per person), a bird park (very large in area, but most of the birds are in cages, I liked the bird park in Langkawi more), we didn’t reach the butterfly park, although we tried, but we were already tired and turned back. The next day we arrived at the Petronas around 11, I managed to get 1 ticket for 18 hours, spent the whole day in Suria, plus visited the aquarium and Petrosains. Petrosains, in my opinion, is more for children, they have expanse there, I don’t even know how to properly call this institution, you can’t call it an amusement park, I guess the discovery center. At 6 pm my husband climbed the towers, the view from the TV tower is much better.

Direct flights from Langkawi Airport to/from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kuching, Johor Bahru, Guangzhou, Singapore. There used to be a direct flight from AirAsia from Bangkok to Langkawi, but now I don't see it on the schedule.

Basically, all Langkawi ferries depart and, accordingly, arrive at main port islands Kuah Jetty, which is located in the capital of the island in the city of Kuah. Another port of Langkawi Telaga Harbor located in the west of the island, almost next to. This is a small harbor where private yachts are mostly parked. But at the peak of the season, boats from the island of Koh Lipe arrive here. It is also an international port; passport control upon arrival on the island, but there is no special infrastructure nearby (you can’t rent a car or a bike, money is exchanged at a bad rate) and taxi drivers break unrealistic prices!

How to get to Langkawi from Koh Lipe

In high season, you can get to Langkawi from the neighboring Thai island of Koh Lipe. Speed boats and boats of different companies run 1-2 times a day. They arrive at the port of Kuah and Telaga Harbor.

Carrier companies known to me on the route Koh Lipe - Langkawi - Koh Lipe:

1. By plane with a change in Kuala Lumpur.

2. By bus to the city of Satun, and then by ferry.

3. To get to the island of Koh Lipe (how to do this, I wrote in), I advise you to stop at paradise island at least for a few days, enjoy the chic and go to, and then get to Langkawi by boat / boat as described above in this article.

4. In the high season, Phuket Langkawi can be reached by Tiger Line Ferry boat with 2 transfers, but it is long and expensive ... (about 12 hours and 3500 baht).

In Langkawi in any travel agency you can buy complex ticket to the desired point in Malaysia or Thailand (the same complex tickets can be bought in reverse direction and in this way to get to the island of Langkawi).

How to get to Langkawi from Moscow

There are no direct flights from Moscow to Langkawi, but you can fly to Kuala Lumpur, and then get to the island as described above. Or immediately buy a complex ticket to Langkawi.

The island of Langkawi is located in the Andaman Sea and is part of Malaysia. This is one of the most popular tourist resorts countries, partly ahead of even Penang. The island is suitable for beach holiday and is famous for its first-class hotels. There are three ways to get from Phuket to Langkawi: by plane, bus or ferry. Each of them has its own characteristics, but in any case, the trip takes quite a long time.

Airplane

As always, the plane is the fastest and comfortable way movement. But in the case of the Phuket-Langkawi direction, it should be noted that direct flight there is no between cities and if you want to get from one locality to the other, you will have to fly with a transfer in Kuala Lumpur. The transplant itself will not take long. Planes from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi fly from all three airports in the city. The interval is approximately 30-40 minutes.

If you buy tickets in advance, they can cost about 2500-5000 baht one way. I advise you to buy tickets on the website Aviasales.ru, where you can compare prices in different airlines.

Langkawi Airport works with all major airlines: Air Asia, Scoot, Firefly, Malindo Air, Silk Air, Malaysia Airlines.

Please note that around the island public transport does not run, which means that you will have to get to the hotel either by taxi or by rented transport.

Bus

Despite the fact that the buses in Thailand are quite comfortable, it is still tiring to travel long distances on such transport. You will not get from Phuket to Langkawi without transfers. This means that the entire route will have to be divided into several stages.

Initially, you will need to get to the Thai city of Satun. Buses to this direction depart from the second terminal of Phuket Island, the first flight departs at 8:15. The fare is approximately 350 baht per person. Travel time is 5 hours, but in real life it can be much more.

If you are worried that you will not have time to buy a bus ticket, you can contact any transfer company and order transport to Satun. The fare for one starts from 1000 baht.

From Satun to Langkawi you need to get by ferry. As practice shows, even the very first bus does not have time to send the last ferry. So, you should count on the fact that you will have to spend the night in Satun and continue your journey only the next day.

The port from where ferries depart to Langkawi is located 12 kilometers from Satun. For the convenience of passengers, there is a small terminal with a waiting room. There is an exchange office where you can exchange both Thai baht and dollars for Malay ringgits. The pier itself can be reached both by public transport and by transfer. The second way is more convenient, as you will be picked up directly from the hotel and delivered to the pier.

Tickets must be purchased on arrival. During the day, the ferry departs three times: at 9:30, 13:30 and 16:00. Travel time - 1 hour. Before departure, you need to pass the Thai border, and upon arrival in Langkawi, you will find border control Malaysia. Tourists from Russia and Belarus can stay in the country for 30 days without a visa.

Ferry

There is a direct ferry from Phuket to Langkawi. It departs from Rassada Pier. Flights are operated by two carriers Tigerline Travel and Satun Pakbara Speed Boat Club. The journey takes approximately 9 hours. The cost of a one-way ferry ticket is from 3500 to 4500 depending on the carrier. You should buy a ticket in advance, this can be done at the pier or online on the website.

Direct ferry is great way get from Phuket to Langkawi, but low season(May-October) flights may not operate due to bad weather.

On Langkawi, all ferries sail to the international port located in the city of Kuah. It has all the necessary infrastructure, from exchange offices and ending with hotel reservation desks. It will not be difficult to withdraw money from an ATM or rent a motorbike or car. Taxis are waiting for you when you exit the car park, as this is the only way to get to your desired hotel.

There is still an opportunity to fly to Langkawi with a tour. This is the easiest and most comfortable option. You can book such an excursion at.

To get to Langkawi from Phuket, you have to spend quite a lot of time. And this applies to aircraft, land and water transport.
