On the way, he was seriously wounded by the militant highlanders, but this did not stop the young man. Losing strength, he reached Lydia. The wounds were so severe that the girl could not save him.

In order not to be separated from her beloved, Lydia turned him into a goldfish in her lake, and she herself remained standing as a stone heron in it.
