And be sure to write us your eleventh reason - why you recommend visiting the Czech Republic!

See you on the blog!

Spring is the best time to travel! The day is already longer, the sun is warming, but not baking, the nature around is replete with bright colors and aromas, and the soul longs for adventure. And if the soul calls, then you need to go! The first time in, and there was little time for walking and sightseeing, as we were tired from the road, and the next day we drove further to Brno. And although that trip is still one of the best in my life, the feeling of incompleteness remained. That is why Prague was still on the list of places I want to visit, and in May the stars were aligned in such a way that I managed to go, or rather, fly.

The flight from Warsaw lasts just over an hour, which is significantly faster than all other modes of transport. True, I would not advise LOT Polish Airlines, but more on that at the end.

This time I decided not to stay in a hostel (the experience from the year before last shows that I won’t be able to sleep), but to rent a studio through the service Airbnb. In terms of costs, it turns out almost the same (provided that you are not renting yourself, but for 2-3 people), only at your disposal is a whole apartment with its own bathroom and kitchen. By the way, if you register using my referral link, you can get a bonus of 67 PLN, and I will get something there.

The apartment was not far from the Prague Castle, so the walk around the city started from it. Taking a few photos with observation deck I was thinking of going to St. Vitus Cathedral. True, the fuse disappeared immediately, one had only to look at the square ...

Such a number of people, enthusiastically watching something (most likely, the changing of the guard), tempered my ardor, turning my eyes in the other direction. Descending from the hill, went to the Charles Bridge.

Who knew that things were exactly the same there?

Unfortunately, the number of tourists is so great that it is simply impossible to see anything or take a photo without dozens of strangers in the frame.

And although the Charles Bridge is insanely beautiful and romantic, I still could not overcome the desire to get away from the crowds as soon as possible.

It is clear that the same fate befell the Staromeyskaya Square - a lot of people and complete impossibility to enjoy its beauties.

Therefore, after taking another shot from the center, I went to the call of my stomach. Czech cuisine, by the way, is insanely delicious, albeit greasy in places.

The rest of the evening was spent on Petrin Hill, from which one can see great view to illuminated Prague.

Well, on the second day I had a zoo planned - one of the largest in Europe. And if all normal people get to it either by bus or by river tram, Nastya, as always, goes on foot, looking into all corners along the way, thereby increasing the distance by another couple of kilometers, and the number of sights seen by several tens.

The second attempt to get to St. Vitus Cathedral was a little more successful, although I never got inside. The construction, of course, is grandiose, and it can be seen from any corner of Prague.

Behind the cathedral is a rather fascinating park, which I called "everything is impossible":

Of course, I understand that everyone is eager to walk on the lawns and pick flowers, but what did the dogs and roller skates do not please?

Nevertheless, the place is very beautiful, but the views that open up simply defy description:

By the way, this is one of the most favorite places for wedding photo shoots. And I understand why.

Passing from one park to another, she imperceptibly reached the Letensky Gardens and the metronome. If I knew that this is also a landmark, I would have taken a photo. By the way, without imprinting remained Troy Castle, which I glanced at, hurrying to the zoo (for some reason, the place itself seemed very French to me).

As for the zoo, I'm not a big fan of them at all, but here they promised almost real Indonesian jungle, and there were fewer people than in the center.

In fact, it turned out that I just got a lot of fun! All animals are kept in very good conditions, look healthy, and also have offspring (even a couple of hippos have a baby).

There are a lot of open enclosures that recreate the most natural living conditions.

There are also closed pavilions, midnight (how I liked the big bats that flew freely around the cave!), Tropical, Arctic.

Only large predators and birds are fenced as much as possible.

But there are enclosures where you can go and almost touch outlandish animals.

The only pity is that not all the inscriptions are in English, sometimes you had to navigate by maps with drawings.

The zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and if you want to take a leisurely look at the whole thing, then you need to come to the opening. I'm with mine hiking I got there only by 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and for the remaining time I managed to inspect about 2/3 of the park. Generally, this perfect place for holidays with children and even dogs, for which there are separate drinking bowls (so cute, I tell you).

The last day, or rather, half of it, I devoted to a farewell walk, since even then I knew that I would hardly return to Prague. This time, it seems, I saw everything that I didn’t watch last time, while for some reason crowds of tourists more and more rushed into my eyes than the beauty of the city. And yes, I know, I am also a tourist, so I will do someone a favor and I will not create a crowd.

I was supposed to fly back with the same LOT company, but instead of a landing announcement, it was said that the flight was canceled - the plane did not take off from Warsaw. Fortunately, I was only with hand luggage, so I quickly got to the representatives of the company, the company that solemnly handed me the last ticket for the flight Czech Airlines, which was leaving just 40 minutes after my canceled one. Check-in again, passing through security and explaining that I bought these bottles from you half an hour ago in duty free, and now, it would seem, landing. But no, the weather decided that I needed to spend another hour in the Czech Republic. Heavy rain with hail and lightning somehow did not inspire confidence at all, and when I saw this Czech airplane with propellers ... Wow, the way back was exciting, but we took off and landed, fortunately, without incident.

On this, however, I close the topic of Prague for myself, although, as they say, never say "never". Where did you go this spring? What do you advise to see, only, mind you, so that there are fewer tourists (Rome and others like them disappear)?

Exactly Prague most often the first European city to which Russian tourists travel. And this visit will be remembered forever. Prague dazzle, captivate, captivate. Let there be Paris, London, Brussels or Amsterdam later, Prague will always occupy the soul special place. Like first love. There are also objective reasons why you should visit Prague.

1. Prague is the largest surviving ancient city in Europe. She suffered less than others from wars and zeal. Walking around Prague, you will not meet, as in Moscow, "Khrushchev" next to the ancient castle. However, this does not prevent Prague from being modern metropolis

2. Getting to Prague is quite easy and cheap.. There are many ways to get to Prague, the cheapest of which is a bus, the most comfortable is a train, the fastest is a plane.

6. Wonderful Czech cuisine. Prague cuisine will not offend anyone: lovers of fatty foods, sweet, delicious alcohol (not only beer, by the way) and all kinds of game can always be properly refreshed in the capital, and even you won’t believe it - vegetarians.

7. Prague, though in Europe, but without the euro. This, by the way, is a significant plus. In Prague, everything is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than in neighboring countries. Hotels, transportation, taxis. Beer, finally! You just have to turn around hiking trail and I'm happy with the prices

8. In Prague you can find unique souvenirs. Especially if you are a little away from the city center. The most wonderful gifts are Czech crystal, jewelry with garnets, wooden toys. You can also buy beer - especially unfiltered varieties.

9. In Prague, you can calmly talk to the waiter staff in Russian. And all the townspeople over 40 will understand you. Yes, and the younger ones will also understand - maybe not every word, but the meaning as a whole - all the same, brothers-Slavs.

10. From Prague you can visit day trip . And not only Karlovy Vary, so that at least for a day you can fall into life-giving water. But further away - to Dresden, for example. Convenient - I went to Prague, and also visited the Dresden Gallery. Happiness for the tourist.

So if you get a chance, definitely go!

Hearing the word "Czech Republic", everyone will remember something of their own. This is the famous Czech beer, and wonderful festivals, and unique architecture. And someone will remember Skoda cars, poems by Marina Tsvetaeva or the legendary opera Don Giovanni, which Mozart finished in the Czech Republic.
