New Year's Eve in Prague where to celebrate. What to do in the Czech Republic during the New Year holidays? How shops, restaurants, bars, banks, transport work in Prague on New Year's holidays

The holiday comes from childhood, which everyone is waiting for with such impatience, they usually try to celebrate it as best as possible so that the atmosphere of magic and fun is remembered for a long time.

I want to enter the New with a great mood and new dreams. All the troubles and problems must be left behind in the outgoing year, and the new year must begin, as new book, line by line rewriting their fate for the better.

And, of course, it is most pleasant to celebrate your favorite holiday in the city where the fairy tale itself seems to live. will be a delightful gift both for yourself and for your companions. And Prague Christmas will bring so many impressions that they will last for a long time. And how nice it will be to remember your wonderful one, sitting comfortably in an easy chair, looking at photos from the legendary trip.

The atmosphere of a fairy tale in the capital of the Czech Republic - Prague - is created by cathedrals, bridges, castles and many domes. Such a spectacular picture frames the Vltava River. Complex ancient castles, called Prague Castle, fortunately, was not injured in the Second world war. The Czech capital escaped the fate of many cities in Europe, remaining virtually untouched. Neither historical and cultural monuments nor the bewitching bohemian face of Prague were damaged.

Through the cobbled streets of Mala Strana, you can get to the architectural monument of the XIV century - Charles Bridge. It is there that local musicians and craftsmen gather, offering tourists wonderful products of their crafts.

The old town is fraught with unusual and insanely curious structures and buildings: the Tyn Church, astronomical clock, Storchov house, Czech National Museum and Estates Theatre.

If you want to immerse yourself in the history of Prague, enjoy the measured flow of time, be sure to visit the Old New Synagogue, the Frank Gehry Dancing House and the Franz Kafka House.

And if you want to enjoy the atmosphere of modern Prague and, at the same time, stealthily look at local residents in a relaxed atmosphere, head to the restaurants and cafes of Wenceslas Square.

In winter, Prague turns into a fantastic magical country, to get into which is a great success. Just imagine - snow-covered streets, with green beautiful Christmas trees standing here and there in pots of different colors, billions of lights and flames, gifts, entertainment and smiling radiant faces of local residents.

Christmas in Prague

Since the Czech Republic is a Catholic country, Christmas comes to Prague a little earlier than to Orthodox Russia. The Czechs celebrate the Christian holiday on the night of December 24-25 in a warm family circle, at a large table laden with all kinds of dishes.

No matter how surprising it may sound, but the celebration of Christmas in Prague begins long before December 24th. On the night of December 5-6, the children are visited, no, not by Santa Claus and not by Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, but by Czech folk characters - Mikulas and Hedgehogs.

Outwardly, Mikulash is very similar to our "native" Grandfather Frost, but behind him is not a bag, but a box with gifts. Mikulash's faithful companions are a bright angel and a furry mischievous imp. The angel carries with him a list with the names of children who have behaved well throughout the year, and the imp, respectively, has a list with the names of pranksters.

But the modest Hedgehog prefers to remain in the shadows. Unnoticed by anyone, he secretly throws gifts to obedient children. You can only guess about the presence of the Hedgehog - it is betrayed by the melodic and gentle ringing of the bell.

On December 6, the celebration continues. Dressed-up Christmas characters walk solemnly through the streets of the city and amuse children and passers-by with questions about good behavior and treat everyone who was obedient with sweets.

Within two weeks, all the inhabitants of Prague are embraced by the spirit of magic and fairy tales. On the Old Town Square main square Prague - the Christmas market opens and, from that moment, the entire Czech capital is immersed in special atmosphere fast approaching holiday. In almost all squares, you can find the main attribute of the New Year - a fluffy elegant Christmas tree. Christmas compositions depicting a holy action - the birth of Jesus Christ are installed everywhere.

New Year 2018 in Prague

New Year's Eve can be called the "icing on the cake" of the perfect winter holidays in Prague. If Prague Christmas is a truly family holiday, then on the New Year, which is called Sylvester here, they try to celebrate noisily, provocatively and often outside the home.

The real and special decoration of the festival is the obligatory snow that falls every year on New Year's Eve and on Generous Evening. Probably, the people of Prague are rewarded for the fact that they treat their holiday traditions so sacredly and carefully.

On New Year's Eve, residents and guests of Prague pour out onto the picturesque streets, champagne flows like water, mutual congratulations sound, music plays, multi-colored lights sparkle and fireworks explode.

The first and twelfth strikes of the clock are met in unison on the Old Town Square, and then, again, in amicable rows, they go to the Charles Bridge in order to have time to make their most cherished wish. There is a belief that a dream made on this very bridge on New Year's Eve will certainly come true.

Restaurants, restaurants, cafes and pubs do not close all night in Prague. Everywhere you are cordially expected and will definitely be treated to a pint of beer, you just have to wish everyone present a happy New Year.

Air travel to the city of dreams

It is worth taking care of purchasing plane tickets in advance. Since the price closer to the holidays can fly up fabulously.

But, on the other hand, when choosing a flight in advance, pay attention to the variation in ticket prices. Usually, the cheaper the flight, the longer it will take.

A direct flight from Moscow to Prague takes approximately three hours. And the duration of the flight with transfers will depend on, in fact, the place of transfer and the route chosen by the airline.

All planes bound for Prague land at the airport. Vaclav Havel. It is 17 km from the center of the Czech capital, and it takes only 25 minutes to get there if you take a taxi and an hour if you use public transport.

If you like to travel and get vivid impressions of life, New Year 2018 in Prague is what you need. On the eve of the holiday, this European capital immersed in a fairy tale. Gothic buildings, snow-covered roofs, numerous lights, the majestic Charles Bridge - everything around seems unusual and solemn.

The end of each year brings fatigue from everyday worries, troubles, home and work problems are annoying. And ahead new year holidays, your dream is to get away from this hustle and bustle, find a quiet, beautiful place to spend time with benefits for the body, get new strength and impressions for the next year.
