Bus from bangkok airport to pattaya. Information for transit passengers. How to get to Pattaya from the airport

At independent trip, you will definitely face the question of transport and ways to get to Pattaya from Suvarnabhumi Airport. In the article we will talk about what options we used in our practice, how much it costs to get to Pattaya from Suvarnabhumi Airport, and also give some useful tips.

After the long-awaited landing at the main airport in Thailand, passing through passport control, receiving luggage and passing through the customs area, we go to the arrivals hall (2nd FLOOR), which has several exits to the street. Now we need to get to Pattaya.

Option 1. AOT Limousine

After exiting through exit 5 on the second floor, you can find the minibus parking and cars with the inscriptions AOT Limousine is a 24-hour transport service run by state organization AOT (Airports of Thailand).

AOT Limousine in Suvarnabhumi

This service is, to put it mildly, expensive and there is not much point in driving such cars, there are many other and cheaper ways. Comfortable, prestigious, but expensive. See the AOT Limousine price list from the official website:

Prices AOT Limousine Suvarnabhumi - Pattaya

Most cheap option worth to Pattaya 2700 baht,it is expensive.

The map of the airport clearly states - public transport, buses and taxis on the ground floor

We are on the second, buses on the first

It is easy to get to the first floor - there are escalators and elevators. There are two types of escalators at the airport - ordinary ones with steps and flat ones, that is, without steps. It is convenient to move on them with bulky luggage and airport carts, on which luggage is folded.

We go down to the first floor

Option 2. Bus

Bus transportation from Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya is handled by Roong Reuang Coach. With this company, you can also go to Hua Hin from the airport. By the way, you can also book tickets online. link

Going down to the first floor, the first thing to do is to find the bus ticket office. It is located in the western part of the building - if you stand facing the exit from the airport to the street, then on the left. You can use the sign and go towards the food court (towards exit No. 8). I bring a photo and apologize for its quality, the inscriptions lit up and the correction does not help.

Food court straight ahead, exit 7 on the right

On the way, before reaching the food court, right at exit No. 8 on the right side we see the coveted bus ticket office where you can buy a ticket to Pattaya and beyond. The box looks like this:

Bus ticket office in Suvarnabhumi

The sign at the checkout says that the fare to Pattaya costs 120 Thai baht per person. Included in the price hand luggage and 1 luggage space(standard size and weight), for extra baggage and oversized baggage you need to pay extra, the price is posted at the counter. By the way, earlier travel on these buses cost a little more - 134 baht. Transportation is carried out daily from 7.00 to 22.00 with an interval of one hour.

Where do the buses from Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya stop?

The buses make two stops along the way:

  • near the intersection of Sukhumvit with North Street (North Road or Pattaya Nua), opposite Bangkok Hospital Pattaya
  • At the intersection of Sukhumvit and Central street(Central Road or Pattaya Klang). Strange, but this stop is not listed on the carrier's website, but on the map that lies at the checkout in Suvarnabhumi, this stop is (see the photo of the map below).
  • near the intersection of Sukhumvit with South Street (South Road or PattayaTai), near BigC Supercenter

Then Ending station on Thappraya Road

Important! Flights at 21.00 and 22.00 follow on North Bus Station Pattaya

There is a sign at the counter with the departure time for which this moment tickets are sold. As soon as tickets for the current flight are sold out, the time of the next flight appears on the plate. During the purchase of tickets, you will be told what time you need to come here - to the box office. And at the appointed time, everyone will be collected and escorted to the landing. Keep in mind that sometimes tickets sell out very quickly and if you think or walk around for a long time, you can lose two hours of time.

The road to Pattaya takes about two hours, and the cost for three was 360 baht

Option 3. Taxi Meter

Here, on the ground floor, the parking lot on the street is occupied by taxis, not those that are AOT limousines, but the usual yellow, yellow-green and pink ones. Each car is in a certain place. Some leave with passengers, others park in their place.

Taxi parking on the ground floor of Suvarnabhumi

Not knowing how the system works, you can get into a stupid situation. For the first time, out of ignorance, I just went outside through exit 8, went up to the first taxi driver I came across and asked how long it would be to Pattaya. The taxi driver answered - 1700 baht. I started bidding, almost agreed on 1300, and suddenly I heard a whistle, the taxi driver hastily walked away and climbed into the car. The source of the whistling turned out to be a man on a bicycle, who called me, while obviously swearing)

In general, this man angrily explained to me that it was impossible to negotiate with the drivers directly, to which I pretended that I didn’t know anything and didn’t understand him well) and asked him to help me with a taxi.

So, to order a taxi at the airport, near exits 4 and 7 on the ground floor, there are special coupon terminals (like in a savings bank). After standing in line, you need to go to this terminal and select a class desired machine- sedan (Toyota Corolla) or compact van (Toyota Innova), after which the machine issues a ticket indicating the pick-up point Lane number, driver's name, license number and phone number.

Here on such devices it is necessary to take a ticket for a taxi. AOT Photo We teach such a coupon. Landing path indicated, driver information

After that, you need to proceed to the landing. We just go out to the parking lot and look for our number. Lane numbers are marked on the illuminated panels above the parking lot. We pass to the desired point and wait for the driver. Then we sit down and tell him the final address. We got to Pattaya itself quickly, the travel time took a little more than an hour, as the road is excellent and allows you to drive smartly.

A trip on such a taxi to Pattaya cost us 1500 Baht.

Option 4. Transfer order online

Modern technologies and services allow you to order a taxi online from any device and at any time. One of these convenient services is Kiwi Taxi. By specifying the points of departure and arrival, you see available options transfer, such as classes and brands of cars, the number of passengers for each class. Transfer prices are also immediately visible.

Convenient choice of car class with an indication of the cost

As you can see in the screenshot, the minimum cost for three passengers is 55$ . This is comparable to the cost of Taxi Meter, but this method has big advantages:

  • this taxi can be booked in advance and save time
  • payment takes place on the site, so everything is transparent and no price changes
  • when ordering, you indicate the flight number and when you arrive, the taxi will already be waiting for you
  • when ordering, you indicate the destination in Pattaya and the driver already knows where you need to go (we had language problems, for example, when you go to a little-known hotel)

Find and book a transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya on your own

Option 5. Grab Taxi app

There is another option to use the Grab Taxi application. This application is indispensable when traveling, for example around Pattaya itself. It is very convenient to make an order, there is no language barrier - everything is visible on the map, from where and where you need to go. We use Grab very actively in Pattaya.

In 2018, the cost for a trip from the airport to north street Pattaya varies from 1100 to 1400 Baht

  • In order to leave by bus and not hang around at the airport for a very long time, we advise you to immediately, first of all, stomp for tickets or send someone alone
  • Do not negotiate with taxi drivers in the parking lot of the 1st floor on your own - this disrupts well-functioning work and causes the anger of management
  • To take a cheaper taxi, try to negotiate at the parking lot on the 4th floor (departure zone). Taxi drivers from Pattaya bring departing passengers here and don't particularly want to queue downstairs or drive back empty.
  • The easiest way is to order online, for example on

Pattaya is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the Kingdom of Thailand. And there are many explanations for this. The first is proximity to the capital. No need to think about how to get to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan or Phuket, or take a long train ride to reach the extreme south of the country. The second reason for the popularity of the resort is its ambiguous reputation as the center of the sex industry. This is mainly a place for hangouts of young people. But the resort (especially respectable hotels on its outskirts) offers quite quiet family holiday. Here is such a many-sided, as Asia itself, Pattaya! What airport is in this city? Is it possible to get to Pattaya directly from Russia, bypassing Bangkok? How to get to the city from the airport? And if you already flew to Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok), then how to quickly and cheaply get to Pattaya? Read about all this in our article.

Utapao

This is exactly the name Pattaya airport. It should be said that this hub was not built for the needs civil aviation. In the 1970s, he was air force base for American pilots when they attacked North Vietnam. After the end of hostilities, Utapao turned into a third-rate airport. It was used by the military as well as commercial organizations for the delivery of goods. And, probably, it would have continued like this, because the proximity to Bangkok did not give Pattaya any chance that tourists would fly here from various countries peace. But the revolution at the end of November 2008 suddenly helped. During the turmoil, the opposition captured and blocked capital airport Suvarnabhumi. To receive flights and send passengers home, Utapao was temporarily involved.

Airport finest hour

In this difficult hour for the tourism industry in Thailand (after all, the revolution broke out at the peak of the season), Pattaya's air harbor proved to be a hub that could well cope with the situation. All Services small airport Pattaya worked with the precision of a Swiss watch. Moreover, it was easy to transport passengers from Suvarnabhumi to Utapao. After all, Pattaya is located just one hundred and forty kilometers from Bangkok - it's a two-hour journey by bus. After the events of 2008, Utapao's status has risen. Now the hub wears official name U-Tapao International Airport. In this regard, the government seriously decided to expand the infrastructure of a small military airfield. Since the end of 2014, the construction of a new passenger terminal has begun. Its area is more than two and a half thousand square meters. The passenger turnover of the hub is three million people annually.

Airport scoreboard

Utapao mainly serves domestic flights. Planes land here from Chiang Mai, Samui, Phuket, Hua Hin, Hat Yai, Udon Thani. But there are also regular flights to Near Abroad. Services at the airport

The state plans to turn Utapao into the main air gate east coast countries. Until recently, few have heard of such resorts as Trat, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Koh Chang and Samet. However, now they are actively developing. The government decided to make Pattaya airport the main one for tourists traveling to this direction to unload the capital Suvarnabhumi. To this end, the infrastructure of the former military airfield is developing every year. Now there you can find a small duty-free shop, a souvenir shop, a jewelry store, a restaurant, Postal office, left-luggage office, currency exchange, various tourist information, car rental and hotel booking offices. You can return VAT on purchases of at least two thousand baht at the VAT Refund for Tourists counter. It is located behind the passport control area, in the departure hall. It should be remembered that Utapao remains a co-located airport. Because there are military planes stationed there, security at the hub is especially picky.

How to get to Pattaya from the airport

The air base was built specifically away from the city. The airfield is located directly on the coast Gulf of Thailand and has the cleanest beach "Sattahip". It is called the military, but the proximity to the air base does not make the coast strictly closed. Those who have been there leave rave reviews about the purity of the water and the whiteness of the sand. Is it true, tourism infrastructure as such is not there. Sattahip remains a beach for lovers wildlife. If you cross the checkpoint, you can get to the turtle nursery. Some avid nature lovers prefer "Sattahip" to crowded and not too clean beaches Pattaya. The distance to the airport from the city is forty kilometers. But a minibus runs regularly from the center of Pattaya to Upatao. His stop is at the exit of the airport terminal. The fare is 250 baht (just under 450 rubles at the exchange rate at the end of July 2017) per person. You can also ride with a breeze by taxi. Their parking is also located in front of the entrance. A passenger car will cost 1,000 baht (1,770 rubles), a minivan for six passengers - 1,500 (2,655).

There are three ways to get to Pattaya - by bus, train or by ordering a taxi transfer. From Bangkok airport to Pattaya can not be reached by train, but can be reached by bus or taxi.

Let's take a closer look at each option below.

How to get from Bangkok to Pattaya by bus

Buses Bangkok - Pattaya run from two bus stations Thai capital: northern (Mo Chit) and eastern (Ekkamai). Buses leave every 25-40 minutes and reach Pattaya in 2-2.5 hours. The ticket costs about 125 baht.

It is more convenient to go from the eastern (Ekamai) bus station, since it is located near the metro station of the same name (Ekamai station), and buses from this station run more often than from the northern one.

Make sure you take the non-stop "express" (most buses to Pattaya are like this, but others make several stops along the way and take almost twice as long in total).

Map with the location of the bus and railway stations of Bangkok:

Minivan

Previously, Pattaya could be reached by minivan from the Victory Monument metro station, but recently the Thai authorities have kicked out all minivans from there. Now they depart from the official bus stations of Bangkok, and free shuttles have been launched from Victory Monument to these stations.

For example, Pattaya Van minivans run from Mo Chit bus station every 15-20 minutes, the ticket costs only 92 baht per trip.

By train

The train from Bangkok to Pattaya runs daily - at 06:55 from central station Bangkok Hua Lampong. In this direction, only third-class tickets are sold (cars, like in our trains), the price is about 30 baht.

The train travels for more than three hours and arrives in Pattaya at 10:34, and then on condition that it is not late. We recommend considering this option only as a last resort.

You can check the train schedule on the official website of the railways of Thailand.

How to get to Pattaya from Bangkok airport

Buses

If you arrive at Bangkok's main airport (Suvarnabhumi), then getting to Pattaya on your own will be even easier: buses run directly from the airport.

The distance between the airport and Pattaya is 110 kilometers, the trip takes about an hour and a half in dry weather and about two hours when it rains.

There are several operators bus service Bangkok airport - Pattaya.

Airport Pattaya Bus. Buses of this carrier depart every hour from 7 am to 10 pm from exit 8 on the first floor of the airport. Travel time - two hours, ticket price - 120 baht.

Bell Travel Service. Bell Travel Service operates flights from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport 6 times a day - every two hours from 08:00 to 18:00 (inclusive).

At the same time, you get from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya by bus, and in the city you are transferred to a minivan and driven to the hotel. The ticket costs 250 baht. According to the latest information, there is no ticket office of this company at the airport and the ticket can only be bought online on the official website (link above). Taxi Bangkok – Pattaya

You can get to Pattaya by taxi either directly from Bangkok or from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Taxi prices from Bangkok airport to Pattaya start at 1500 baht, from the city it can be a little more expensive.

Travel time is around 2 hours. Such a transfer will be the most expensive, but also the most convenient - you will be taken directly to the hotel.

In any case, always agree on the final price with the driver before the start of the trip - there is a risk of stumbling upon an unscrupulous driver who will try to take more money from you than he says at the beginning.

Transfer Bangkok – Pattaya

If you arrive in Thailand too late, you have a lot of luggage, you are traveling with a large company or with children, it will be more convenient for you (or directly from the hotel if you plan to spend several days in the city) in advance.

You can use, for example, the services of a company - in this case, the driver with a sign will meet you at the airport, and the final cost of the trip can be paid in rubles even before departure to Thailand.

The price of the transfer Bangkok - Pattaya by taxi depends on the class of the car, but on average it starts from 45-50 dollars for the whole car (accommodates up to 4 people).

You can check the current cost of a transfer to Pattaya using the form below:

Which way to choose

It all depends on your preferences and financial capabilities:

  • A minivan is the cheapest (from 92 baht), but it is the least comfortable option.
  • Buses are slightly more expensive, but they have more space and are more pleasant to ride. The best option if you don't want to pay for a taxi.
  • Transfer is the most convenient of all methods, and also relatively inexpensive.

Tourists who arrived in Bangkok on a tour package may not think about transfer to Pattaya, they will be met near Suvarnabhumi Airport and taken to desired hotel. But for those who travel on their own, it is worth exploring the options for moving around the country in advance. Transport connection between major cities Thailand is well developed, and the distance from Bangkok to Pattaya is only 160 km. So get to popular resort won't be difficult. You can take a bus, minivan, train or taxi. Each of these modes of transportation differs in terms of driving time, prices and comfort.

Buses run daily strictly with a schedule from two bus stations in Bangkok - Mo Chit and Ekkamai. The bus schedule is customized for tourists. They run from Ekkamai Bus Station during the day from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm. From Mo Chit Bus Station there are flights to Pattaya from 5:00 to 19:00. Buses run every half hour to an hour. The cost of such a trip is approximately 100 baht. The journey will take 2 hours. In Pattaya, buses arrive at North Pattaya Street.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office located in the station building on the ground floor, or on the website. On the ticket bought in advance, you will see the number of the parking point from which your bus will depart.

On a note! All cashiers at bus stations report the number of seats sold to each bus driver. Therefore, if you are late for a while, the bus will be waiting for you. But do not abuse the situation, the maximum delay is 15 minutes, then the bus will leave without you and the ticket cannot be returned.

Traveling by bus has many advantages, including:

  • one of the cheapest tickets
  • all buses are equipped with air conditioning;
  • large luggage compartments;
  • all drivers are officially employed and are responsible for passengers. Therefore, this option is the safest.

But there are also disadvantages in their schedule - long breaks for rest and snacks (often delayed for 1 hour or more) and buses leave no more than once every half an hour.

Minivan

Minivans depart from Bangkok once every half an hour, the movement time is from 6 am to 9 pm. Travel time to the resort will be about 2-3 hours, depending on traffic jams in the capital and on the highway. Tourists are attracted to this transport option by the fact that there is no strict schedule, many departure stations in Bangkok and inexpensive price trips.

Significant disadvantages of this method of transportation to the resort are:

  • Many Thai drivers do not know how to drive according to the rules, they exceed the speed limit. As a result, accidents happen from time to time.
  • The minivan departure time ends early.
  • The salon is designed for 14 passengers, but cunning drivers can take 16 people each, putting them on folding rear seats.
  • Very often, the salon is filled with various boxes, bags, which the minivan driver delivers on the way to the right points.

In Bangkok, most minivans can be found in their large parking lots. They are located at Mo Chit Bus Station, Victory Monument and Ekkamai Bus Station. The price of a minivan trip is 300 baht. Minivans stop in Pattaya next to the Big C supermarket, on the corner of Sukhumvit and at the South Pattaya bus stop - this final destination. You can buy a minivan ticket to Pattaya on the website.

Train

This is the most unpopular option for tourists who need to get to their resort. Train schedules are not at all adjusted to the guests of the country. The route will take a long time, about 4 hours.

The train in this direction leaves at 6:50 from the Bangkok railway station, called Hua Lamphong. In Pattaya, he arrives at about 11 am to the East Train Station. The cost of a train ride is 80 baht. Of the advantages of such a trip, one can name exotic and cheapness, the ticket price is the lowest among other types of transport.

This option of moving around the country can only be suitable for those tourists who are not in a hurry or want to enjoy the view from the train window. The morning road will delight any guest of the country with its exoticism - palm trees, mountains, unusual bright landscapes and the bright sun will accompany you throughout the trip.

There are no sleeping places in the train cars, only seated ones. But inside the wagons, a good finish has been made and comfortable places for passengers.

The second carrier company sells the ticket much more expensive and makes 6 trips a day. Buses run daily from 8 am to 6 pm. The advantages of these flights are that tourists in Pattaya are transported to hotels. In this regard, the price rises - 240 baht, which is 2 times higher compared to the first company.

  3. Once at this stop, you can go to Pattaya on the next bus. From the northern station, they run daily from 5 am to 7 pm. Travel time is about 2 hours. The ticket price is about 100 baht.

And if you don’t want to waste time on transfers and prefer maximum comfort, you can order a taxi on the website, but the price in this case increases by about 10 times.

The fastest way to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya is by taxi. Many lovers of nature and Thailand itself specially go by train to see the panoramic view of landscapes that opens for 4 hours from the windows of the train.
