This lighthouse is located in the village of Gaspra on the cape, which gave it its name. By right, this particular monument is considered important for the development of the entire Russian fleet. By order of Admiral Lazarev, a lighthouse was built here at the beginning of the nineteenth century, not far from the ancient fortress that had been destroyed by that time, which also served as a lighthouse.

Getting to Cape Ai-Todor is quite easy. A boat runs regularly from Sevastopol towards the cape. However, getting to the lighthouse is not as easy as it might seem. It is a military facility, no one will give you guided tours.

Access to the lighthouse is possible only with a special pass, which you need to stock up on in Sevastopol.

Tower of the Winds

This unique building was built in the middle of the nineteenth century in Sevastopol. It is hard to believe, but without sufficient repairs and maintenance, she was able to survive to this day. The tower largely copies the famous Athenian Tower of the Winds. Of course, the Greek tower, which was built even before our era, is much larger, but the beauty of the Crimean building is in no way inferior to its foreign relative. At the moment when the tower was built in Sevastopol, it was used to air the books from the Maritime Library.

The Tower of the Winds is located in the center of Sevastopol, on Frunze Street, 8. Visiting an architectural monument of regional significance is now free.

Bear Mountain

Surrounded by a halo of legends and secrets stands between two major cities Mount Ayu-Dag. On the way from Yalta to Alushta or back, you will never miss a big stone bear, which lowered its muzzle into the sea. He tries to drink all the water in order to return the lovers who decided to run away from him on the water.

Bear Mountain traces its history back to very ancient times. According to various sources, it is about 150 million years old. For tourists, it may be interesting because it is here, in this unique natural area, that rare animals and plants live. Apparently, their patron is the same big bear who is trying to drink the sea.

From all cities Crimean coast to the rise to the Ayu-Dag can be reached by scheduled buses that go to Yalta or Alushta.

Saint Constantine's Tower

In Feodosia there is a huge stone giant- Tower of St. Constantine. Her age makes one wonder that she has not yet been destroyed to the ground. It was built in the thirteenth century, at a time when the Genoese considered themselves masters in the Crimea.

Initially, the tower was used to store weapons and was not called anything special. Later she received the name of St. Constantine. Although, he was canonized as a saint later than the tower appeared.

The tower is located between the bus station of Feodossia and Yubileyny Park. An interesting fact is also the fact that a capsule with a message to the people of the future is immured in one of the walls of the tower, which will be opened in 2017.

Golitsyn trail

In the village of Novy Svet, fans can definitely find new sensations for themselves and tickle their nerves. It is here that the famous Golitsyn trail is located - a narrow piece of rocky soil, which is located directly above the cliff. When crossing the path, you can only hold on to a frail log.

Those who can overcome dangerous path a reward awaits: they fall into a wonderful grotto, which has two names. His name is Shalyapinsky, because the famous bass performed there, and Golitsynsky, like the transition, because the prince kept bottles of wine in the grotto.

By Golitsyn trail, the length of which exceeds five thousand meters, the last Russian emperor Nicholas II used to walk.

cat mountain

A beautiful legend awaits those who want to visit the city of Simeiz, which is located 70 kilometers from Sevastopol. In the town there is a famous Mount Cat. It is also called "kosh-kai" or steam mountain. It is with her that the love story of a monk and a young girl is connected. The monk was able to save his beloved from the demon, which he turned into a mountain. Now the mountain is overgrown with forest and does not look like a demon or a cat, but history continues to attract tourists to it.

At the very top of the mountain there is a kind of wish tree: tourists tie ribbons to it and make wishes. They say that they will definitely come true.

If you drive along the highway from Sevastopol towards Yalta, it is impossible to miss Mount Koshka. A funny landmark is a small market where they sell sweet Crimean onions.

Valley of Ghosts

Lovers of the supernatural come to Alushta every year. After all, it is there that the famous Valley of Ghosts is located. Of course, there are no ghosts there and close, but the stones at the foot of Mount Demerdzhi at sunset cast very interesting shadows. The mountain itself can also attract tourists. At sunset, it changes color. The nature of this phenomenon is still not known, scientists do not want to solve the mystery of the Valley of Ghosts.

By the way, it is at the foot of Demerdzhi, very close to the Valley of Ghosts, that there is still a stone on which Natalya Varley sang her song about bears in the film “Prisoner of the Caucasus”.

A bus runs regularly from Alushta and Simferopol towards the village of Radiant. It is on it that you can get to Demerdzhi and the Valley of Ghosts.

Chekhov's house in Gurzuf

Crimea is ready to show its guests and cultural values. They have always been developed here on a par with natural ones. So, in Gurzuf at the turn of the last and the century before last, Anton Pavlovich Chekhov bought a house for himself. The writer wanted solitude and peace, and the noisy Yalta did not suit him at all in this regard.

Chekhov's house now has a branch of his museum on the Crimean peninsula. Anyone can come here with a tour.

An entrance ticket with the right to take photos and videos costs 200 rubles, with the right to view the garden - 50 rubles. You can get to the writer's dacha from Yalta by taxi number 316. You will need to get off at final stop and take a short walk.

Vorontsov Palace

This majestic building not only served as the residence of the governor of Novorossia, Prince Vorontsov, but from the very beginning it was a hymn to English traditions in architecture. Consisting of several parts, the building is a mix of different styles and eras in architecture.

The palace complex is surrounded by a huge garden. It occupies almost 150 hectares and, like the building, is a combination of different plants.

The palace and the garden are located in Alupka, which can be reached, for example, from Simferopol, by bus that goes towards Simeiz.

Interestingly, during the Great Patriotic War, Hitler, who fancied himself a winner, managed to give the Vorontsov Palace along with the park to one of his marshals. However, keep architectural masterpiece in the property for a long time he did not succeed.

Wine Koktebel

The village of Koktebel is well known to all lovers of poetry. It was there that Maximilian Voloshin lived and Marina Tsvetaeva often visited. However, not only lyricists know this place. The reason for this is the factory of vintage wines and cognacs, which is located in the same place.

Growing grapes in the Crimea is an old tradition that has taken root. People living in this mountainous area have always made stronger wine and drinks, so it was logical to create a large-scale production here.

Now they give excursions to the plant, they are ready to show, tell and even give a try to everyone.

Depending on the degree of immersion in the atmosphere of viticulture, the cost of the tour varies from 500 to 900 rubles per person. The plant itself is located at the entrance to Koktebel, local residents say that it is simply impossible to drive past.

Bird home

Perhaps the most famous building of the Crimean peninsula can be safely called bird home. This castle, made in the Gothic style fearlessly, hangs over the sea. However, this building only looks like this for a little over a hundred years. The stone palace was built only at the beginning of the twentieth century. Until that time, a wooden house stood on the site of the modern Swallow's Nest.

Immediately after construction, the palace was surrounded by a beautiful garden, but most of it was destroyed during a strong earthquake. Miraculously survived architectural monument.

The swallow's nest is located in the village of Gaspra. The best way to get to it is from Yalta, by direct buses in the direction of this village. There are also guided tours around the castle, their cost is from 300 to 600 rubles per person.

Ancient mausoleum in Bakhchisarai

On the territory of the city of Bakhchisarai there is one of the most ancient buildings in the Crimea - the mausoleum of Hadji Giray. Khan Khadzhi Giray himself is buried in it, his son who initiated the construction, as well as about twenty more of their relatives. Scientists say that the mausoleum is now more than fifty years old.

Historians constantly carry out excavations on the territory of the mausoleum. This object cannot be called a full excursion, they will only tell you about the history of the Khan's family, but if you appreciate places of power, places with bright energy, then you should definitely visit it and just touch the ancient stones.

The mausoleum is located near the hospital for the mentally ill on Basenko Street.

Volcanic mountain Ai-Petri

Ai-Petri is the place that has become a unique nature reserve. It is there that you can find various natural areas and landscapes. The mountain itself calmed down relatively recently and stopped moving. Even 100-150 years ago, she could gradually sink into or out of the sea.

Now tourists who go to Mount Ai-Petri can not only admire the beauties of nature, but also appreciate the longest cable car in Europe, which is located right here in the Crimea.

Bus number 32 runs from Yalta to Ai-Petri. You need to get off at the Cable Car stop. You can climb to the very top of Ai-Petri accompanied by a guide and special equipment. This pleasure will cost three to five thousand rubles per group.

Monument to the Lost Ships

The Monument to the Lost Ships is one of those points that it is simply impossible not to visit after visiting Sevastopol. It was installed over a hundred years ago, at the beginning of the twentieth century. Then it was considered a reminder of the first defense of Sevastopol, but over time it became a symbol of the city.

Now it is near the Monument to the Dead Ships that all military parades in the city take place. A gray column with an eagle on top does not let you forget about every tragedy that has ever happened at sea. The sailors themselves consider this monument to be their talisman.

Finding the monument is easy enough. It is located on the Primorsky Boulevard of Sevastopol.

Livadia Palace

In 1861 there was a simple a private house, it was bought by Alexander the Liberator, giving the order for reconstruction. The house was given splendor and pretentiousness, but it did not become a palace worthy of the imperial family. Then at the beginning of the twentieth century Grand Palace it was ordered to be demolished and now Nicholas II rules the show. He hires the architect Krasnov and gives him the order to build a luxurious palace in a short time. Krasnov did not disappoint - in the fall of the following year, the White Palace appeared in Livadia.

The palace architecture is imbued with the spirit of the Italian Renaissance with incredible admixtures of oriental, Byzantine and even sometimes Gothic features.

In the year 25, the Soviet government gave the magnificent Palace to the full disposal of the people. So here appears the usual sanatorium for the afflicted. So the Palace would have fallen into disrepair, if in the final year of the war there had not been a conference called the Yalta Conference. It was in the spacious halls of Livadia that Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin walked in gloomy thoughts.

This museum is located on the outskirts of Yalta, at the foot of a cliff. At first, P.P. Bezrukov liked the picturesque place, local resident. The master carved wooden fairytale heroes and exhibited his creation in a forest clearing. However, the people of Yalta liked the fairy-tale heroes, and in 1970 the clearing became an open-air museum.

In addition to the figures carved by the first master, they were joined by other sculptures made by other craftsmen. The exposition expanded. Grandmothers and mothers have already brought their children to the clearing, wishing that they would also admire the fabulous wooden sculptures.

Archaderesse - grape paradise

A dozen kilometers from the city of Sudak, almost at the foot of a cape called Meganom, there is a huge plain with numerous hills and picturesque valleys, a feature of which is that in a dry summer this place becomes almost a desert.

This area got its name back in the Middle Ages and began to be called "Arkhaderesse", which means, translated from the Tatar language, "the back of the ravines." In the 19th century, this place attracted the attention of Prince Golitsyn.

His decision was to turn the site into a special vineyard for growing champagne grapes. This territory, where an insane variety of varieties of grapes and almonds successfully grew, occupied almost a hundred hectares. There were such types of grapes as Cabernet, sophisticated Sauvignon, no less unique Muscat.

In order for the products to be stored in the most suitable conditions, wine cellars were built. They were made in a slightly unconventional way - they were not dug directly into the ground, but on the contrary, they fell asleep. At first, the bottom of the future cellar represented a leveled surface of several ravines, then this surface expanded even more and after that they only began to cover the ceiling vaults, which were then filled up.

Such cellars of Archaderess are still in excellent condition and are three stories deep. On the basis of Golitsyn's recipes, the most unique wines are still produced with the names Lunel-24, Madera No. 21, Pink Muscat, and others.

However, despite all the beautiful aspects of this place, the history of its creation and development is far from joyful. After some time, the creator of this grape paradise was completely removed from his managerial position and banned from entering the territory of the estate, and after that, all local varieties of fruit-bearing shrubs were also destroyed.

Almost 100 years have passed since these events, and the vineyards have been almost completely restored. Some wine brands are produced exclusively in these territories: Solnechnaya Dolina, known far beyond the Crimean peninsula.

Adzhimushkay quarries are located not far from the city of Kerch. These are mountain underground workings, which today are considered the most famous in the Crimea. memorable places history of World War II.

In the second year since the beginning of the Patriotic War, our troops were forced to leave Kerch to the Nazis. Our troops were surrounded near these quarries and, in order to defend their native lands, they descended deep into the earth and created a military garrison with over 10 thousand soldiers.

Thanks to its endurance, the strictest discipline and organized command, the garrison became a fairly strong military organization. The Germans seized the wells, threw gas cylinders with asphyxiating gas, but this did not break the powerful Soviet army. Only at the end of the year, the surviving soldiers were taken prisoner by the Nazis.

are here and mass graves, to which Crimeans come every year to pay tribute to the memory of Soviet soldiers who died defending the quarries.

Map of the Golden Ring of Crimea, circular routes by car and bus on the highway, on off-road vehicles on dirt roads
located at the bottom of this review.
We recommend the first journey through the "world in miniature" along the circular route of the Golden Ring of Crimea and we recommend an obligatory long stop in Alupka.

Most of the Crimean sights are located in the southwest, on the ring Simferopol - Bakhchisarai - Inkerman - Sevastopol - Balaklava - Laspi - Simeiz - Alupka - Miskhor - Yalta - Gurzuf - Partenit - Alushta - Angarsk Pass - Salgirskaya Valley - Simferopol. Observation of the Golden Ring of Crimea from any of this point you can drive in 1 day! Of course you can go in any direction. But we advise the first trip so that you get to Alupka early. You can return to your place of residence even in the dark.

At night, the Yalta-Alushta-Simferopol trolleybus route is also quite suitable. But during the day in the season it will have to be abandoned - it is too busy. Highway Simferopol - Bakhchisarai - Sevastopol is suitable at any time of the day. But there are few viewpoints on it. The highest density of attractions is still in the south-west of Crimea.

Circular map car route"Golden Ring of Crimea" - the main route on the highway (red dots), routes for mountain bikes, and motorized off-road vehicles (blue dots).

Separately, we will eventually analyze the routes for off-road vehicles (starting from mountain bikes and ending with expedition jeeps). But unlike the Golden Ring of Crimea, you won’t pass the route by car along the highway in one day. However, you can keep within a day if you spend part of the route with a bicycle at the beginning or end in an electric train, trolleybus or arrange an auto-drop-off.

All our routes are also available for travel on public transport. Again, in this case, you can’t manage with the Golden Ring of Crimea for daylight hours. It will be necessary either to break it into loop-like routes in order to return to your base point, or to spend the night at one of the points of the ring. Right at the bus stations there are always agents of apartment bureaus around the clock. Cheap hotels hostel type work directly at bus stations, for example in Yalta.
