Guys, your comments help us a lot! Already in three days we visited Winperl, the island of monkeys and the waterfall (I forgot the name of 2 short words :)) - also on your recommendation. Today we arrived in Dalat. Wonderfully beautiful city!
We wanted to leave the Nha Trang bus station at 09:00, but we were told at the box office that now there is no such bus. Available at 7:00, 8:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00. Therefore, at first we were upset that we would have to wait 2 hours, but then we were even glad that we had a whole 2 hours to walk around the city. We went into the temple, went up to a non-tourist small temple-house. Great! Thank you! Tomorrow we travel to Dalat, then I will definitely write)

We could not be in Nha Trang again and again not go to the beloved city of Dalat. We bought bus tickets from Nha Trang to Dalat at the carrier's office in the city center. The next day we had a difficult 4-hour road from Nha Trang to Dalat through a mountain pass.

If I knew in advance the upcoming road to Dalat, then ... And how much does a plane ticket cost there? :)

Nha Trang - Dalat. How to get there and where to buy a ticket

In Nha Trang, tickets can be bought at such a pretty Sinhtourist office. And you don’t have to go to the bus station on the outskirts of Nha Trang, as other bloggers advise. The price of a bus ticket from Nha Trang to Dalat is 109 thousand VND ($5). You can also buy tickets online on the 12GO Asia website.

Tip: ask for a seat in the middle of the cabin, otherwise the rear ones may get there, it shakes more strongly.

The bus departs at 7:30 am from the Singh Tourist office, which is located on the second street, not far from the Liberty Hotel.

Coordinates: 12.236033, 109.195494

We reached the office in 5 minutes by 7.15, gave a printout of tickets, received boarding passes and some water, then waited another 15 minutes and loaded onto the bus. We were the only Russians. The rest are French and Chinese. Pre-drank pills for motion sickness.

The bus is designed for 29 seats. It's not cold in the cabin. We rode in shorts and did not freeze. But take a warm blouse and socks anyway, just in case, take with you. Travel time is exactly 4 hours. There is no toilet on the bus, but we made one stop for 20 minutes about an hour and a half after departure.

Bus Nha Trang - Dalat The SinhTourist for 29 seats

We made a stop at a restaurant where you could have a bite to eat, warm up and go to the toilet. The restaurant is decent with beautiful bridges and cozy pavilions. We saw trees with breadfruit.

Road through the mountains to Dalat. Extreme begins

After the stop, the most interesting began. And for me, the worst. The road to Dalat promotes the release of adrenaline into the blood

Even if you are not a naive tourist who is firmly convinced that nothing will happen to him on vacation, because everything is paid for, then you, too, will flinch at least a few times along the way.

The road through the mountains takes about an hour and a half and consists of some sharp turns. It is narrow and two-lane. Every time the driver starts to overtake someone in the opposite direction, it seems that a little more and you will fly into the abyss.

One of the many blurred sections of the serpentine

On the way, we saw workers and excavators several times clearing the next landslides. Apparently, there were landslides during the Doge season and a lot of stones fell (see). And sometimes the stones were such that they would demolish an entire train, not like a car or a bus.

We were lucky, the driver was attentive and unhurried. He carefully circled dangerous areas and slowed down on turns, did not drive and signaled to other drivers if we were leaving a sharp turn.

And after an hour of shaking, serpentine and nerves, we got into the cloud. Google map shows an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level. The fog is such that visibility is 30 meters.

Clouds covered us. And behind the fence the abyss

The driver's assistant kept wiping the windshield so that he could see at least something ahead. The saloon doors were opened. For what? I think, in case of evacuation in case of an accident. I have never experienced such horror in my life.

Scary, but how beautiful!

The views of crazy beauty helped to distract from bad thoughts. Untouched nature, wild forests, tall trees, hills, waterfalls, mountain peaks in the clouds. The abyss is so frightening and just as fascinating to your eyes.

Many times passed waterfalls right next to the road. You go and look out the window at the seething streams of water. It's amazing how people were able to carve a road through the mountains in such wild places.

One waterfall in the mountains was especially luxurious. 200 meters high, no less. We saw him from afar, but we didn’t manage to shoot properly. The camera is discharged.

In such a strange and nervous state, we drove 1.5 hours after the cafe. Then Mountain landscape suddenly gave way to another landscape in the form of hills and greenhouses. There are thousands of them here. It's like building a city out of greenhouses.

Greenhouses on the way to Dalat

It is worth noting that the road to Dalat is not a fig not ideal, as they say in blogs. So many bumps, holes and bumps. Shakes all the way, and not only in the mountains. Often the pits go around on the opposite side. Far from the most comfortable road for such difficult route. This is me to the fact that some blogs eloquently paint what a smooth and even road to Dalat from Nha Trang, which is a pleasure to drive.

4 hours passed quickly, scary and entertaining. The route Nha Trang - Dalat is not very tiring, but nervous tension must be relieved with a cup of coffee or beer. On the way, I slept a little, and Slava did not tear himself away from the panorama outside the bus window, trying to remember in as much detail as possible all the images of the inviolable land in this region of Vietnam. That's how we got to Dalat!

Where does the bus arrive in Dalat

Sinhutrist buses bring to their office near the hotel Trung Cang Hotel. It is in the center, 5 minutes walk to the lake. The hotel, by the way, is not bad and relatively inexpensive, prices from $ 20 with breakfast. You can stop right in it or go for lunch after the road. To the right of the hotel is the Sinhov office, where you can buy return tickets to Nha Trang or other destinations. Taxi drivers know this place as Singh Cafe.

Coordinates: 11.944165, 108.440178

A few years ago, Vietnam was an agricultural country, but now it is tourist destination rapidly gaining popularity. Hotels in resort towns and megacities are growing like mushrooms after rain: the country has an unspoken state standard, according to which a hotel is built in no more than 4 months - from the stage of excavation to settlement. Due to the resort climate and low prices, tourists from all over Europe and Asia come here. There are not so many Russians yet, and Vietnam is working hard to rectify the situation.

The southern and central parts of the country are famous for their resorts, and in the north, which borders on China, most of the attractions are concentrated. The variety of routes in Vietnam is huge. Here is the most inexpensive diving in the world, medieval imperial palaces, French colonial architecture. You can go on a trekking tour through the villages of Sapa, go kayaking in beautiful bay halong, visit ancient city-museum Hoi An, go on a tour of the partisan catacombs, preserved from Vietnam War and spend a few days on the beaches. Also popular in Vietnam medical tourism- here are modern and inexpensive clinics where you can do a complete check-up of the body or address a specific problem.

How to fly

The main nuance of traveling to Vietnam from Russia is a long flight: it takes 9 hours to fly from Moscow to Hanoi by direct flight. The most comfortable option is Vietnam Airlines: since March of this year, flights from Moscow have been operated by new Boeing Dreamliners, with a large distance between the seats and wide windows. In the business class, all seats can be laid out to a horizontal position and sleep (such a trip in both directions will cost 120 thousand rubles). Aeroflot flies Boeing 777. Inside the country, it is also better to travel between cities by Vietnam Airlines: it is inexpensive and, unlike a bus, safe.

Where to live

If you travel around Vietnam on your own, accommodation in big cities you can rent through Airbnb - it will cost 20-30 euros per day. It is better not to take hostels and Vietnamese "two stars" - the conditions there can be very upsetting. The rest of the hotel level is high. Many of the world's hotel chains are represented in Vietnam, but the largest Vietnamese one is Vinpearl. She specializes in 5 star hotels and villas.

The network also includes amusement parks, safaris and certified international standards golf courses.

Money

It is most convenient to go to Vietnam with cash dollars - they are accepted almost everywhere along with local dongs; euros are not as common and the exchange rate is unfavorable. In addition, ATMs are available almost everywhere, where you can easily withdraw cash from a Russian card.

Entry for Russians for two weeks is free and no visa is needed. On the island of Phu Quoc, which is being developed by Vinpearl, you can live without a visa for 30 days.

The cuisine of the south of the country is more exotic and has absorbed the traditions of China and Thailand. In this part of the country, Laumam soup is popular, consisting of meat, fish sauce and 24 vegetables and herbs. Bo Ho - famous dish Central Vietnam- these are chopped carrots, pieces of beef, herbs, star anise and cinnamon. Banh My is popular among the locals - baguettes with different fillings, a legacy of the French colonial period in Vietnam, as well as croissants and ice cream.

The Vietnamese are great coffee lovers, the traditional drink is black coffee brewed in a special cup-vessel, which condenses on the condensed milk already poured into the bottom of the cup. Milk and coffee can be stirred before drinking if you prefer a sweet drink, or you can leave the milk at the bottom of the cup for a sweet aftertaste. Condensed milk in Vietnam is the result of the influence of the USSR, but desserts are the legacy of France.

What to watch out for

Take care of your head on airplanes, especially on domestic flights: The Vietnamese love to take things from the shelves already during the descent, and the stewards do not interfere with them.

Do not drink tap water, iced drinks and juices in small cafes - diarrhea is guaranteed.

Stock up on medicines for gastritis, indigestion and poisoning, especially if you want to try the local street food and seafood.

Use maximum sun protection even on a cloudy day and don't forget to renew it every two hours due to humidity sunscreens lose stability.

IN tourist places full of pickpockets and scammers of all stripes, but in hotels you don’t have to worry about the safety of valuable items.

Beware of cars and bikes. road traffic in Vietnam, there is practically no regulation, even pedestrian crossings with traffic lights are unsafe.

Do not ride bikes without a helmet - you are severely fined for this.

Karaoke clubs in Vietnam are fronts for brothels. At the same time, karaoke itself is very popular as entertainment in restaurants - many Vietnamese sing loudly.

Participation in drug trafficking in Vietnam carries severe penalties, up to and including the death penalty.

In no case do not take pictures of military installations and people in uniform.

Around the lake is full of cafes, restaurants, as well as souvenir shops and street entertainment. There are many stalls offering tours of the main attractions of Vietnam - you can safely buy them, compared to independent travel there is almost no overpayment.

CATHEDRAL OF SAINT JOSEPH. Not far from the lake is located - Catholic Cathedral in gothic style. The cathedral was built by the French in the 19th century on the site of an ancient Buddhist shrine - Bao Tien Pagoda. Until 1954, Catholic services were held here, but then the cathedral was closed, the property was confiscated, and the priests were expelled. The doors of the temple reopened only in 1990 for the first Christmas mass in a long time. Now worship services in Vietnamese are held daily in the morning and evening, but protests still take place periodically at the entrance.

More to see: Gate of the old city, a pagoda on one pile, a four-kilometer mosaic along Duong Hong Ha

Where to eat

and restore strength

Fancy Gia Truyen. Pho soup is already eaten by the Vietnamese for breakfast, sitting right on the sidewalk near their houses, and the smells of noodles and meat broth are carried throughout the district. Pho can be bought in almost every cafe or restaurant, but the exemplary soup should be taken in Gia Truyen. The cafe, which does not attract attention at first glance, is always filled to capacity. The portions are huge - one is enough for two. Any dish will cost no more than 50,000 dong (140 rubles).

Address

12−14 Hàng Gà, Hàng Bồ, Hoàn Kiếm.

He named his restaurant after his wife's grandmother and dedicated it to Vietnamese women who managed to keep the tradition alive. local cuisine. You can dine inside or on the veranda, carefully decorated with flowers and plants. The restaurant is large but popular, so it's best to book a table in advance.

In small cafes, you should definitely take thick and very satisfying smoothies and juices from a combination of a wide variety of fruits - this is the perfect refreshing snack after a long walk around the city.

Vietnam is not the best spa in the world, but do not deny yourself a massage after long walks. Both in luxury hotels and in massage parlors, massage is relatively inexpensive, and after that you will definitely be offered tea or a cold ginger drink that restores strength.

Mountain village Shapa (Sapa)

Shapa is a mountainous area almost on the border with China. It is the homeland of many small peoples of Vietnam and one of the most beautiful places for tracking in the world. Here are incredible mountain scenery with waterfalls, traditional Vietnamese villages and rice terraces. There are many routes, there are one-day and almost a week. You need to take a change of comfortable clothes with you, good trekking shoes and, of course, a reliable raincoat.
