Public transport from the airport only goes to Valencia, and from there you have to move on.

If you are flying from Russia with Aeroflot planes (arrival at 10:45 local time, departure at 13:50), it is reasonable to count on the metro and bus - they work from 5:30 to 23:00. Passengers of the S7 airline (arrives from Moscow at 23:05), night charters and flights with transfers will have to choose other options - car rental, taxi or transfer.

Journey to the Alcossebre

If Alcossebre is chosen as a holiday destination, the best option flight - through the airport of Valencia- it is the closest to the resort (120 km).

By bus without transfer

The intercity bus Valencia-Alcossebre runs only once a day: from Valencia it leaves at 13:30 (on Saturdays - at 14:15), from Alcossebre - at 8:20. Travel time - 2 hours 35 minutes, one-way ticket - 10.90 euros.

It's good that this is not the only possibility - at any time of the day can be reached with a transfer- it's even faster, but a little more expensive.

In addition to the usual land route, you can also get to Alcossebre by sea.

Train + bus

From Valencia you can get to one of the stations passing near Alcossebre railway- Castellón de la Plana, Torreblanca or Alcala de Xivert (satellite town of the resort 8 km away). And from there to local buses or by taxi (15-20 euros).

Which way to choose - depends on the schedule. It is designed in such a way that there are no long breaks between trains.

Via Alcala de Xivert

From the Estacio del Nord station to the Alcala de Xivert station and back, 4 trains run daily:

  • From Valencia - at 8:05, 14:42, 16:35, and at 20:05. On Saturdays, the last train is cancelled.
  • From Alcala - at 7:24, 12:57 14:26, 16:02, 20.04. On Saturday, the first train leaves at 9:00.

Travel time - 1.5-2 hours, ticket price - 8-11.35 euros.

Buses from the station to Alcossebre and back run from 7:15 to 20:30 with an interval of 30 minutes. up to 1.5 hours The schedule is not very convenient, and there are few flights on weekends and holidays.

While waiting for the bus, see the 10th-century Arab fortress on the Serra d'Irta hill.

Via Castello de la Plana (Castellón de la Plana)

From Castello station to Alcossebre - 25 km. It is unlikely that you will be able to get to the hotel by bus - there is only one flight departing at 6:25 - you will have to spend money on a taxi (35-40 euros). But trains from Valencia go here often:

  • from Valencia Nord station from 10:05 to 20:35, Castello de la Plana - from 12:00 to 22:08 (tickets from 6.1 to 12.3 euros, drive 40-60 minutes);
  • 9 trains leave from Joaquín Sorolla station and back daily: from Valencia - from 6:25 to 22:20, from Castello - from 11:21 to 22:58 (on the way - 38 minutes, travel - 11.75-19 .60 euros).

Spend a couple of hours walking around Castello de la Plana, looking at and photographing these cute sculptures along the way.

The best option is a combined ticket

On the website http://www.goeuro.es/travel-search2/results/382260168/train you can buy a Valencia-Alcossebre ticket for two types of transport - a train to Alcala station and a bus from the station to the resort. In addition to convenience, this option is very profitable.- round-trip fares range from 13.2 to 18.2 euros.

The traffic schedule is adjusted so that the entire journey from the departure of the train from Valencia to the exit of the bus in Alcossebre, or from boarding the bus in Alcossebre to the arrival at Nord station takes 2 hours - 2 hours 17 minutes.

Arriving passengers from the Alcala de Xivert station are transported by buses to all areas of the resort - Fuentes, Alcossebre and Capicorb, and departing passengers are brought to the station 15 minutes before departure. For example, a train that leaves from the North Station at 8:05 and arrives in Alcala at 9:54 is served by a bus departing at 10:09, it takes only 13 minutes to reach the resort.

In the holiday season when the influx of passengers increases, the carrier launches another route - from the Torreblanca station. In terms of time and price, it turns out almost the same.

Transfer will help out day and night

At night, when public transport is not running, for travelers with children, with large luggage, the most convenient option is a transfer. It can be ordered in advance, immediately in both directions and rest peacefully, without worrying about the way back. You can book the service on the websites

Valencia is an attractive city in every respect: mountain landscapes, gentle sea, huge sandy beaches, exquisite architecture, competing in majesty with futuristic buildings, and all this under the scorching sun, giving its warmth to the inhabitants and guests of this paradise 300 days a year. Having lived in Valencia for almost five years and having traveled to many cities in Europe, I can say with confidence that there are a lot of reasons to visit this city and everyone will find here what they like.

Being in Valencia almost 365 days a year and having experienced all possible combinations of temperatures, I came to the conclusion that this city is beautiful at any time of the year and the choice of dates for a trip depends on the personal preferences and plans of each traveler. If the purpose of your trip is a beach holiday, then summer season in Valencia it opens from the beginning of May and lasts until the end of September and the temperature in these months almost never drops below 30 degrees. But if you are more attracted to history and architecture, then I would advise you to come in autumn or spring, when the thermometer is still not over the top and you can comfortably see all the sights without crowds of tourists and enjoy walking or cycling around the city in wonderful weather, and, moreover, save a lot on tickets! In any case, a traveler who decides to visit Valencia will have a number of questions related to how it is more convenient to get to their destination without harming their wallet and nervous system, and how to plan further movements in Spain.

Direct flights to Valencia

In the case of Valencia, you should not complicate your life and try to look for a profitable option for a flight with transfers, since, according to my experience, the most economical option is also the most convenient - a direct flight from Moscow. The flight will take 4.5 hours and two airlines fly this route - Aeroflot and S7. You can compare airfare prices. It is worth noting that for people living in other cities of Russia (, etc.), Aeroflot offers very favorable fares for flights to Valencia with a transfer at Sheremetyevo, which cost a little more than a direct flight from Moscow (20,000 - 26,000 rubles per both sides). As for the flight from St. Petersburg, you can pick up a profitable flight with a transfer, which will cost 18,000-20,000 rubles round-trip. Here it is worth noting the Lufthansa airline, which offers to take you to sunny Valencia in 10 hours with a transfer at 4 hours and 50 minutes in Frankfurt am Main.

To Valencia by Aeroflot

On June 1, 2016, Aeroflot launched daily flights to Valencia from Sheremetyevo airport. In addition to regularity, a big plus of this route is a convenient schedule (departure from Moscow to Valencia at 9 am and from Valencia to Moscow at 13.50 pm), which will allow you to freely get to the city or airport. Ticket prices vary greatly from season to season - from October to April round-trip tickets will cost about 20,000 rubles, but in the summer season the price will not drop below 45,000 for both flights, so I would recommend this flight to those who decide to visit Valencia in cold weather year, or planned a trip with a margin of 3-4 months and managed to buy a ticket in summer at winter prices (if, for example, you buy a ticket in winter for May-June, then the price will not bite).

To Valencia with S7

Another airline flying directly to Valencia from Moscow (Domodedovo Airport) is S7, but, unlike Aeroflot, these flights are seasonal (from May 27 to September 23) and operate twice a week - on Wednesdays and Saturdays. During the five years of my life in Valencia and summer flights home, I have always used the services of this particular airline, because in addition to excellent service and planes painted in my favorite green color, a big plus in favor of S7 is the price. Personally, I always buy tickets in advance. If you do this at least a month in advance, then a round-trip flight will cost 16,000-20,000 rubles, but even if you buy closer to the departure date, there is a chance to buy a ticket for this amount, which, unfortunately, Aeroflot does not have. The only month in which the price rises quite noticeably is August, but again, if you buy in advance, this should not be a problem. With S7, I would advise you to always use the flexible search function, since very often the prices, for example, for Wednesday, are very different from the prices for Saturday of the same week, and can also change almost every day (especially when there is one or two seats left on the plane) , so if you be careful, you can buy a ticket at a very good offer. As for the schedule, the plane from Valencia to Moscow departs at 23.55 and lands in Domodedovo at 05.35 in the morning (according to my experience, I will say that the flight takes less than the time stated on the ticket and usually, if there is no delay, at 5.10 in the morning you are already on the ground) , and the Moscow-Valencia flight is operated from 19.15 to 23.05. For those who decide to get from Valencia airport to the city by metro, I would advise you to hurry up a little with getting your luggage and understanding that you are in Spain, since the last train is still before midnight (about the metro schedule below), so there is a chance to miss and in this case you will have to overpay for a taxi.

How to get from the airport to Valencia

There is only one airport in Valencia and it is located 8 km from the city in the pueblo (village in Spanish) Manises. Although the airport is relatively small, only 2 terminals, I can say that it is quite convenient and well planned. Employees speak English (which is not so typical for Spain) and even sometimes there are Russian-speaking staff at the check-in counters of Russian airlines. Also, getting from the airport to the city will not be any problem and will not hit your wallet too hard. You can choose from three types of public transport: metro, bus or taxi, depending on your time and Money Personally, I prefer the subway.

Metro

The metro station is located on the lower floor of the regional terminal (Terminal Regional) and trains of two branches depart from it: red at number 3 (Rafelbunyol - Aeroport) and green at number 5 (Marítim Serrería - Aeroport).

Both lines will take you to the city center in just 25 minutes! The ticket is bought from the red machine at the entrance, where you can choose English language(select Idioma from the menu and then Inglés) and pay in cash or by card. Please note that the journey to the airport is considered as zone D and costs 3.90EUR one way + 1 EUR per card. If you have chosen the “single ticket” option, the machine will give you the option to buy a ticket to the airport, which you need to select. Here I must warn about a very important point: do not throw away the red card that the machine will issue! Firstly, in the Valencia metro, exit is also carried out with a card (that is, you need to swipe it both at the entrance and at the exit), and, secondly, this is a renewable travel card: when you buy new trips on the metro, you need to insert it into the device and select the Recargar function (if you suddenly do not find it in English) and then select the desired tariff. I also want to draw your attention to the fact that the airport pass miraculously resets to zero after 24 hours, so you should not take a ticket back in advance and it is better to replenish the card before leaving. As far as the schedule is concerned, weekdays the first train from the airport leaves at 07.08 in the morning, and the last one at 23.28, and on weekends it will be possible to leave at 05.47 in the morning, and at 23.47 at night. The interval between trains is 10-15 minutes. I must say that several times I got into very uncomfortable situations when the train left in front of me and I had to wait for the next 20 minutes, so I want to note that the Valencia metro runs on schedule, so you should plan your trip in advance and check the schedule on the Metrovalencia website . Otherwise, the Valencia metro is a fairly convenient and pleasant way to travel, there are plans at all stations, convenient scoreboards and everywhere there are signs with the direction of the exit (salida) and the transition to another branch.

The price for the city (zone A) is 1.5 EUR, but if you buy 10 trips at once (called Bonometro), you can save a lot, since such a pass will cost you 7.20 EUR (plus 1 euro for a cardboard card, which you will pay at the first purchase) .

Bus

Also, a yellow bus number 150 runs from the airport to the city center. The stop is located at the exit from the arrivals area of the T1 terminal on the ground floor under the bridge that combines the terminal with the parking lot. Travel time depends on traffic, but generally it is 30-40 minutes to the center of Valencia (plaza de España). This type of transport will cost only 1.45 EUR per person, but you need to pay attention to the bus schedule: from Monday to Saturday from 5.25 am to 10.05 pm every 25-30 minutes. On Sundays and holidays, unfortunately, you will have to choose a different mode of transportation, as this bus will not run. Personally, I would still advise using the metro or a taxi, since this bus is not equipped with places for large suitcases and comes with big amount stops, but if every euro counts, then this option can be considered.

Taxi

The most comfortable way to travel is, without a doubt, a taxi. All taxis in Valencia are painted white, accept cards for payment and operate at the same rates. Finding a taxi at Valencia Airport is very simple - there are always several cars at once at the exit from the arrivals area of the first terminal. The journey from Valencia Airport to the city center takes only 15 minutes, is carried out at a special fare and will cost 18-23 during the day on a weekday and 20-25 EUR at weekends or at night. If we talk about moving around the city, then from 7 am to 9 pm on weekdays, the starting price of boarding is 1.45 EUR and each subsequent kilometer is paid according to the meter and amounts to 1.08 EUR per km (but keep in mind that regardless of the distance, the minimum fare in a taxi on a weekday will be 4 EUR). And on weekends and holidays or at night, the fare will cost a little more - 2 EUR at the start and 1.18 for each kilometer (the minimum is already rising to 6 EUR). Taxis in Valencia can be ordered by phone, but personally I always use the MyTaxi app, although it is usually not a problem to hail a car right on the street or walk to one of the parking lots.

Flights to other cities in Spain

There are cases in which getting to Valencia is more profitable and convenient by flying to another Spanish city, for example, if you fly directly from St. Petersburg or when all direct flights to Valencia are either sold out or sold at high price. In such situations, I would advise you to consider the three most convenient directions to easily get to Valencia:, and (flight information, prices and useful information can be found in articles dedicated to these cities by clicking on the links). From my experience, I can say that the prices of air tickets to Madrid are almost always significantly higher than to Barcelona and Alicante, so I would recommend these two destinations. And, besides, do not forget about buying tickets from these cities to Valencia itself, so that the desire to save money does not turn out at great expense.

So, if you decide to choose another city as your landing point in Spain, or you have a burning desire to travel a little around the country, then the question arises of how to get from these cities to Valencia itself. Since there are not so many planes between the cities of Spain and the prices for them bite, I can guarantee that the most convenient mode of transport for these purposes is land. Here you can choose from two options to your taste and wallet: bus and train. You can always buy tickets and get acquainted with the schedule and prices on the official websites (which will come out a little cheaper) of the Spanish railway (Renfe) and bus companies, as well as at the station itself.

How to get from Barcelona to Valencia

Like Valencia, the capital of Catalonia is located on the coast mediterranean sea, and the distance separating these two cities is 350 km. In 2015, I spent 5 months in Barcelona on a student exchange program and this route is the most traveled for me in all of Spain.

Since many tourists choose their holiday destination nearby resorts, then I would like to say a few words about how to get to Valencia from there. In the case of the Costa Brava ( north coast Catalonia) the most The best way is to get first to Barcelona itself, which will not be difficult, since from all resort towns walk regular buses to the city of Gaudí. And if we talk about the south of Catalonia (Costa Dorada), then, for example, from the station in you can take a direct train from Barcelona, which will take you to Valencia in a little over two hours. In the case of other resorts, I would choose the option to get to another big city Catalonia - Tarragona - and from there take a bus or train to Valencia.

Returning to Barcelona, trains to Valencia leave from Barcelona Sants train station (metro lines 3 and 5) and travel times vary from three to just under four hours, depending on the train chosen and the number of stops. In the morning it will be possible to go to Valencia from 7 o'clock, and the last train leaves at 20.30. By this route two types of trains operate directly - Euromed y Talgo (the trains of this line operate more than long routes, so Valencia will not final destination his travels). But there are also several other lines that take a detour with a lot of stops, so their travel time increases to 5 hours. Provided that the difference in price is imperceptible, I would not recommend this option. As for the price, if you make a purchase in advance, then a one-way ticket will cost only 13-18 EUR, but if you can’t buy with a margin of time, then get ready to pay 27-45 EUR for one one-way ticket.

Personally, I almost always prefer the bus, as this is a more economical option and an extra hour on the road doesn’t scare me a bit. On the route Barcelona-Valencia travels bus company ALSA, on the official website of which you can find prices and schedules. From Barcelona, buses leave from Barcelona Nord station (Metro Arc de Triomf, line 1) or Barcelona Sants train station and arrive at bus station Valencia, which I will discuss below. Also, if you arrive at Barcelona airport and want to immediately go to Valencia, many buses stop at the airport, but in this case, when buying a ticket, you must enter Aeropuerto Barcelona-Prat T1. Travel time is approximately 4 hours, depending on the route. Buses from Barcelona to Valencia run from 7 am to 1 am, and as for prices, if you buy with a margin of at least a month, you can buy a ticket at a special rate, starting from 6 EUR per person, but if you buy closer to the departure date , then the price will rise to 20-30 EUR one way.

The choice to go by train or bus depends on the personal preferences of each person. Of course, the train is a faster and more comfortable mode of transport, but by choosing a bus you can significantly save on price, and also, if you go directly from the airport, you don’t waste time, money and nerves on the road to the station.

How to get from Alicante to Valencia

The city of Alicante is located 180 km from Valencia and is part of the Comunidad Valenciana (Valencian community). Personally, I have always been fascinated by the scenic route between these cities, which can be done on an ALSA bus in just two and a half hours. From Alicante, buses leave from the bus station near the port and arrive in Valencia at the station near the Turia metro. There are about 20 flights a day on this route from early morning until late at night, but in my experience it is always worth paying attention to travel time (it should not exceed 3 hours), especially when buying through the ticket office at the station, where you may not be informed about it, since there are several buses stopping at all nearby cities(Benidorm, Altea, ), due to which the time spent on the road will increase by one to two hours. Ticket prices are quite affordable - from 6 EUR (for certain flights) if you buy in advance, up to 25 if you buy on the day of departure.

You can also use more fast way movement - by train. Travel time will take from a little over an hour and a half (minimum 1h32min - maximum 1h54min), and the ticket will cost between 12 and 20 EUR, depending on the date of purchase and the chosen flight. From Alicante, all trains leave from a single train station, and to Valencia they arrive either at the Joaquín Sorolla station (Euromed trains) or at Estación Nord (Talgo and MD trains).

How to get from Madrid to Valencia

The capital of the Kingdom of Spain is located 350 km from Valencia in the heart of Iberian Peninsula. and Valencia are connected by the AVE high-speed rail line, whose trains cross a distance of 350 km in 1 hour 45 minutes. Also on this direction go a few conventional trains, but travel time increases from four to nearly seven hours, making them an unattractive way to get around. In the case of Madrid, I choose the train as my mode of travel only in case of a big rush, since the speed of the AVE will have to pay a round sum. Buying in advance (at least 3-4 weeks in advance) a ticket will cost an average of 30-40 EUR, but the closer the departure date, the higher the price. A week or two before departure, prices double, so get ready by purchasing a ticket on the day of departure for the fact that it can cost 70 EUR. From Madrid, trains depart from central station Atocha (blue line 1 of the metro station of the same name), and in Valencia come to the Joaquín Sorolla station.

I always give my choice to four-wheeled transport: AVANZA buses run from Madrid to Valencia, and the travel time will take 4 hours and 15 minutes with a 20-minute stop in the middle of the journey, during which you can stretch your legs, buy something from the supermarket, have a snack in a cafe and drink coffee . The price of tickets generally remains stable - about 30 euros for a one-way ticket, but sometimes, by purchasing in advance via the Internet, the Avanza company offers to buy tickets for the Viajando Voy promotion, which allows you to save 30-45% of the price. Finding out if this promotion is valid is very simple: when buying a ticket under it regular price there will be another one - marked Viajando Voy, this is the tariff you need to choose. Buses to Valencia depart from Madrid from the Estación Sur station (Méndez Álvaro metro station, line 6), and to Valencia they arrive at the bus station.

Train stations in Valencia

As a separate item, I would like to tell you about the city's railway stations. Valencia has two train stations, the historic Estación del Norte and the modern Estación Joaquín Sorolla. Most trains long distance and all high speed trains AVE arrive exactly at the second station, and the first one mainly receives trains from the suburbs and several long-distance lines (Talgo trains). In any case, both are in the center at a small distance from each other and are connected by a line free bus, which runs every 10-15 minutes and takes you from one station to another in 5 minutes.

There is also a metro station next to each of the stations - in the case of Estación del Norte, this is Xativa (lines 3 and 5), and next to Estación Joaquín Sorolla is Jesus-Joaquín Sorolla (lines 1 and 5).

As for the buses, almost all come to the only bus station, or, in rare cases, to the Joaquín Sorolla station. The Valencia bus station (that's what it's called - Estación de Autobuses de Valencia) is located near the Turia metro station (lines 1 and 2) opposite one of the main attractions of the city - Turia Park, laid out on the site of a once violent, and now a dried-up river. Also opposite the bus station bus stop, from which you can get to the center (bus 79) and to the embankment and the City of Sciences and Arts (bus 1). For more convenient travel by bus, I would recommend contacting the geolocator of the official website of EMT (Valencia transport company), where you can view the route plan for each bus on the map and make your own route (for this, just zoom in on the map and select the desired stops marked with a red circle).

Summary

In conclusion, I would like to say to all travelers: do not be afraid and dare! I can guarantee that Valencia (and the whole of Spain in general) is the city where you can comfortably move around without knowing the language and a huge budget, while getting positive emotions at every stage of the journey. Based on my experience, I would advise you to plan a route in advance and get acquainted with all the nuances of movement (location and schedule of the airport, train stations, metro, buses), which will help you spend time as easily and informatively as possible without hitting your wallet and nervous system!

It is also possible to purchase directly at the airport tourist map for 24, 48 and 72 hours. The card allows you to use without restrictions public transport within the central zones A and B, as well as a metro line from the airport terminal to the city. Taxi from Valencia Airport

A taxi from Valencia Airport will comfortably take you to your hotel in the resort, the city center or any other place in the vicinity. The car can be found on a special platform at the exit from the arrivals area or called to board your flight via the Internet. The latter option is often more successful, and here's why.

Taxi at the airport can be found on a special platform at the exit from the arrivals area

Taxi fares in Valencia quite complex, and therefore it is impossible to operate with single figures. To the fare, which depends on the distance, you must add the amount for getting into the car (5.4 Euros), as well as take into account the time of arrival and the day of the week, since day and night fares apply in Valencia. You also need to take into account the possible downtime, which is considered separately and also depends on the day of the week and time of day.

When booking online, everything is much easier. The car is served directly to the landing of the flight, and the tariff is calculated in advance automatically before the order is confirmed.

Additional cheats are excluded, since the service independently monitors the airport scoreboard and sends the car exactly to the landing of the aircraft. If you are delayed in the terminal or the flight is late, the car will wait without additional fee. If you change plans, 24 hours before the meeting, the delivery of the car can be canceled without penalty.

Moreover, even at the stage of ordering, you can additionally indicate the need for child seats or a roomy car if you are traveling in a large company.

Meeting with a taxi driver when booking via the Internet most often occurs when leaving the arrivals area. The driver is waiting for travelers with a sign with their names. To avoid mistakes, all the details of the upcoming trip are duplicated on the e-mail of future passengers.

Book taxi online from Valencia airport or estimate transfer costs depending on the location of your hotel.

Car rental at Valencia airport

At the exit from the arrivals area of the airport, there are several car rental companies and you can get a car even upon arrival. Another issue is that when concluding a contract on the spot, a car, as a rule, is more expensive.

You can get a car at Valencia airport even upon arrival

Although car rental in Spain is relatively inexpensive, there are local features which is most felt in holiday season. The fact is that Europeans, who are the majority among tourists in Valencia, prefer to book a car for their vacation in advance. Here the rule is that the earlier you confirm the order, the cheaper it is. Thus, the most budget cars in their majority can be reserved a few months before the trip.

Another important point connected with the policy of the car rentals themselves. Base prices for cars may include restrictions that travelers will learn about after the conclusion of the contract. For example, the need to pay extra for full insurance coverage, severe penalties for late delivery, etc.

To avoid surprises on the spot, it is better to find a car in advance through a large specialized price comparison service. The system database stores up-to-date data of all major car rentals in the vicinity, which allows you to find the most profitable option in a matter of seconds. In addition, all conditions are reduced to single species which helps to avoid hidden charges.
