The park is located five kilometers from the city of Nong Khai, from which you can reach not only by bus, car or bicycle, but also walk at a leisurely pace. This Lao park appeared in 1958, thanks to the work of Bunlya Sulitat, the famous religious leader of Laos, who created it. There was so much work for Sulitat that he could not finish everything he planned, due to the fact that he was damaged by mental health. By the way, his body is in this park, it is embalmed and buried in a glass sphere. Despite the incompleteness of this project, the park initially captivates visitors with its unusualness: each statue of gods and snakes has its own expression, and the features are perfectly and clearly drawn. The statues have different height, varying from one to twenty meters. In addition to the statues, there are absolutely charming flower beds and mysterious, picturesque ponds.

2. Bird Park in Singapore- This is a real bird metropolis, where more than five thousand individuals live. The most interesting birds of the park are penguins. Probably, everyone understands why: after all, northern birds are very different from the birds that the inhabitants of tropical Singapore are accustomed to. Tourists who come to the park like to walk along the lake, which was chosen by flocks of whites and pink flamingos leading their unhurried and measured way of life. The park also found shelter: parrots, ostriches, swans, eagles, hawks, vultures, owls, that is, birds from all over the world, although most of the feathered inhabitants are representatives South-East Asia. For each species of birds, individual conditions for their habitat in nature have been created. Every day, to the delight of visitors, various shows are held in the park, with the participation of birds, and even falconry. Little visitors to the park stand idle for a long time near the aviary with colorful parrots, of which there are one hundred and ten subspecies. So if you want to see this interesting park world in all its surreal beauty, then come here in the spring.

As mentioned above, Chinese rulers have long chosen this place. Representatives of the Liao dynasty were the first to build their palace here, and the rulers of the Qin dynasty created a whole artificial island here. Khan Kubilai, the emperor of the Yuan dynasty, ordered to build a palace in the park, in which he met the traveler Marco Polo. Until 1925, there were imperial gardens, which were the closed private property of the emperor. Beihai Park is the oldest Chinese park, which has been over a thousand years old. There are legends about its origin. It stands half a kilometer from the Italian town of Stresa. Despite its small size, the island is famous for being home to the magnificent Borromeo Palace, built in the seventeenth century, which adjoins an absolutely stunning park. Keukenhof Park occupies thirty-two hectares of land and is completely covered with a sea of colorful flowers, centuries-old trees, picturesque quiet ponds, canals, waterfalls, fountains. The park was founded recently, in 1949, but in this short time it has become not only the most great place The Netherlands, but throughout Europe, attracting millions of tourists every year. But, back to the question, why in translation, the name of the park is “Kitchen”? The fact is that in the fifteenth century, on these lands there was the estate of Countess Van Beuren, who was engaged in the cultivation of herbs for the court kitchen. The laying of the Keukenhof park began in 1857, using the fundamental principles of English park building, but it was decided to create a park of flowers here in 1949. First, a visual exposition for the sale of flowers appeared: a thousand different color ornaments were created from traditional Dutch tulips, as well as daffodils, hyacinths and, unusual for these places, Japanese sakura. Part of the exhibition - new, unique varieties of flowers, placed in greenhouses and pavilions. Every week in the Keukenhof park there are interesting thematic exhibitions, which are often attended by members of the royal family of the Netherlands. 10 most unusual, unique and even have the most scary parks from all over the world.

Green Lake, Austria

This park, located in the Austrian town of Tragoess, is surprising primarily because in winter it is an ordinary park with flowerbeds, alleys, and groves laid out here. People come here to sit on comfortable benches, have a picnic and admire the stunning views of the mountains and the lake, the water of which has an unusual green tint. But in summer the lake overflows, and the water level in it rises from two meters to ten. Then the park is flooded and completely hidden under water. Those who want to arrange a vacation and a sea of impressions without leaving home can buy and relax, swim and have fun with friends or people close to you!

And then divers come here from all over the world. Perhaps this is the only place in the world where you can see the familiar world under water. All plants, park paths and benches remain in their place, and you and scuba dive past them. Among the terrestrial vegetation, small fish swim in crystal clear water. And so it goes until winter comes again

Dwarf Kingdom, China

To be honest, it's not exactly a park. Rather, the Dwarf Kingdom can be called a village where only dwarfs live. The park has its own school, hospital, shops. But from time to time the doors of the village are opened for visitors, and the dwarfs dress up in fabulous costumes and conduct tours of their homes for those who wish. The houses, by the way, are very interesting, made in the form of mycelium or trees. The entire staff of the park are exclusively its residents.

From the point of view of public morality, the park raises some doubts among both Europeans and Chinese. But, one way or another, the place is popular, and the Chinese authorities are in no hurry to lose a good source of income.

Creation Museum, USA

This park was primarily created to show people that the creation of the Earth by God (as described in the Bible) in no way contradicts the theory of evolution. The visitor is offered giant moving figures of dinosaurs, adjacent to the "reconstruction" of a huge noah's ark. Behind the glass cases nearby lie the bones of prehistoric animals and biblical artifacts. Park staff argue that the existence of dinosaurs does not contradict the Bible - God could have created them in the same way as all other animals, but for some reason they did not survive the Great Flood.

Regardless of your religious beliefs, the park is definitely worth visiting. The fact is that most dinosaur bones and reconstructed skeletons are genuine archaeological finds. And the idea of combining biblical history with science is interesting enough in itself.

200 Buddha Park, Laos

The 200 Buddha Park was created relatively recently by Bunlya Sulitat, one of the religious leaders of Laos. The work took a long time, and Sulitat himself could not finish it, because he went crazy. Nevertheless, the park is amazing: in a relatively small area, more than 200 sculptures of Buddhas, snakes, gods and heroes of Hindu and Buddhist mythology have been collected. Thanks to a carefully thought-out layout, the visitor can come close to each stone statue, to study all the features of the carving, or, if he wants, peer into the stone faces from afar. The amazing thing is that each hero carved in stone has its own facial expression. Absolutely all the statues are worked out to the smallest detail: scales on snake bodies, folds on the clothes of heroes, paraphernalia, faces ... The height of some statues reaches 20 m, and some do not exceed the height of a five-year-old child.

The park is only five kilometers from Nong Khai town, and if you wish, you can easily get there by bike or even on foot. In addition to statues, it has picturesque ponds, well-groomed flower beds, as well as a glass sphere open to visitors, where the embalmed body of Bunlya Sulitat, the creator of the park, rests.

[b] Sinners Park, Thailand

The park is not recommended for people with unstable mentality. The fact is that the Park of Sinners on the territory of a Buddhist temple 40 km from Bangkok is filled with sculptures of people pierced by spears, hanged, eaten by mythical animals and died in other, no less terrible ways - a kind of clear demonstration of what “hell on earth” could look like ". In addition, muffled psychedelic music and an eerie voice narrate various horrors, tortures and the like - fortunately in Thai - are heard from the speakers installed throughout the park.

By the way, Thais often come here with their children - apparently for educational purposes. But we would not recommend bringing a child to such a place. And adults should visit such a park only if they have either an iron psyche or a specific sense of humor.

Jurong Bird Park, Singapore

Jaurong has a collection of birds from all over the world. Most The feathered inhabitants of the park are, of course, birds from Southeast Asia, but there are also many species from Europe, America and Africa. main feature of the park is that visitors have the illusion that the birds live in the wild - there are no aviaries or cages to be found in the park. For each group of birds, conditions have been created that imitate its natural habitat: for example, an air conditioning system has been made for penguins, and a large artificial reservoir for flamingos.

Most of all, visitors like to look at the aviary with parrots - 110 varieties of these bright intelligent birds live here. No less interesting is the pavilion with an artificial waterfall, where 1500 species of birds from different corners peace. You will be able to watch their life in real time, how the birds feed, sleep, and raise offspring. But you can’t feed them - the park staff warns that this can adversely affect the health of the birds.

Francisco Alvarado Park, Costa Rica

This park is a real marvel of landscape design. Walking along its paths, you will see elephants, monkeys and other animals made of living cypress. But the main thing in the park is a mystical labyrinth of living plants: countless green arches hang over visitors, intricately intertwining paths stretch under their feet, and along the way there will be many surprises - which is worth only a giant figure of a sleeping woman, whose body and face are carved from moss-covered stones .

Keukenhof Flower Park, Netherlands

Keukenhof is famous all over the world primarily due to the growing on its territory huge fields tulips. More than 100 varieties of these flowers grow on 32 hectares. In the spring, more than 800 thousand tourists come to the park - the fact is that due to the "finicky" tulips, the park is open only from March to May.

Every year at the end of April, the park hosts the Parade of Flowers: huge platforms made entirely of plants move along the streets of the city of Lissa.

Chess Park, Japan

In the Japanese city of Osaka, on the banks of one of the canals, there is a park dedicated to board games. Paths, tables, children's slides and all other objects are made in a chess theme. Of course, in the park you can find chess boards directly, and tables for playing backgammon, and boards for playing go or checkers. The park is not very popular with tourists, but it is very popular with locals who often come here with their children.

The park is also amazing because the creators did not have much money, so all the objects are made of cheap and environmentally friendly materials like pressed wood and cardboard. If you find yourself in Japan, stop by, you will not regret it, because the Chess Park is an excellent example of how you can make a place for recreation right in the city in an interesting and useful way.

These places of the planet are definitely worth seeing: they are so abundant, bright and interesting.

Keukenhof park, Netherlands. Considered one of the most luxury parks in the world. Located between Amsterdam and The Hague, in the town of Liss.

Butchart Gardens in Canada is a group of flower gardens in Canada (province British Columbia, near the city of Victoria on Vancouver Island). Over a million people visit this place every year.

Robert Pym Butchart, the founder of the gardens, wanted to produce cement on these lands. But in 1907 he met the landscape designer Isaburo Kishida from Yokohama, who wanted to build gardens for his son. Robert Butchart was so imbued with the idea that he did not let the designer go from Canada until 1912. As a result, an amazingly beautiful park was born.

It should be noted that the couple mined limestone until 1909, but then they finally came to the conclusion that further development was futile, and began to garden. The construction was completed in 1921, at the same time the couple began to receive the first guests. 200 Buddha Park, Laos

The whimsical sculptures and mysterious atmosphere of this park fascinate at first sight. Buddha monuments, snakes, gods and mysterious mythical heroes- all these are works of boundless imagination and mastery of the hands of Bunlya Sulitat - one of the religious leaders of Laos.

Coming closer to the statues, one involuntarily wonders how carefully the author has thought through every little thing! All figures have a unique facial expression, the images are thought out to barely noticeable folds on the clothes and scales on the skin of snakes. Some sculptures are 20 meters high, but there are those that do not exceed the height of a small child.

Green Lake, Austria

Unusual park in the city Tragoess, Austria is probably the only place on Earth where you can admire the familiar terrestrial underwater. Imagine that you are swimming with scuba gear, and to meet you are "underwater" trees, benches and paths trodden by someone.

Since the water in the lake is clear and clean, you can see fish here and take pictures underwater before the onset of frost.

Space Reflection Park, Scotland

This unusual park is the result of the hard work of the spouses Charles Jenks And Maggie Cheswick. Here you truly feel like just a grain of sand in the cosmic sea of the universe. Underwater, full of monsters and strange architectural structures, which receive guests only a few days a year, are not subject to time - in our selection are the most unusual parks that are worth visiting for a tourist.

Despite the fact that this park, located on the outskirts of the Lao capital Ventian, has no historical value (it is only 50 years old), and it does not contain any rare exotic plants, there are always enough guests here. The reason is simple: in the creation of the “enlightened mystic” Bunlya Sulilat, everything arouses interest bordering on bewilderment. Hordes of nameless monsters, bloodthirstyly eating each other, side by side with strange six-armed pigs that snatched off the royal crown, and a huge sacred locust opens the way to the very thousand Buddhas who gave the name to this incomprehensible place.

The marvelous composition, which seemed to the Lao guru to be the road to heaven, has become an excellent example of making money from scratch. A visit to the Buddha Park, built by volunteers from cheap concrete and not costing the state a penny, and permission to take photographs are charged a fee of one US dollar. Getting here is not difficult: the bus to the brainchild of Sulilat leaves from the Talat Sao station, located near the central market of Ventyan.

The idea to create a park that has no equal in the whole world came to mind landscape designer Maggie Caswick-Jenks in 1988 Very soon, the pretty Potrack House estate, located in the city of Damfuss, turned into a miniature model of the Universe, demonstrating all the stages of the creation of the world around us. A zigzag staircase consisting of 25 steps emerges from dark depths picturesque lake, reminding: thus, from the emptiness of non-existence, an endless cosmos was born, and a person also flourished, overcoming the stages of evolution. All the green paths and alleys of the Scottish sky map in miniature lead to the center - a huge spiral of DNA, from where the alleys of the human senses begin.

Tired of thinking about the nature of the universe, guests can indulge in idleness in the "Arbor of Meaninglessness" and again go on the road, contemplating the symbolic black holes. Unfortunately, after the death of his wife, Charles Jencks opens the Garden of Cosmic Reflections only a few times a year - to get there, you need to guess the time well.

The path to the most wonderful park in Thailand, spread over the territory of the province of Suphanburi, is kept only by people with a stable psyche. This strange place, located next to a Buddhist temple, personifies hell on earth. The alleys of the Park of Sinners are littered with symbolic corpses, slaughtered with particular cruelty. People pierced by spears follow the victims eaten by terrible demons, and the unbelievers, fleeing monsters among the needles of cacti, lead to a series of decapitated and hanged.

The frightening picture is complemented by psychedelic music and an eerie whisper, broadcasting from the speakers about all sorts of horrors awaiting those who did not follow God's commandments and ended up in hell. There are very few sinners in the Park foreign tourists, but there are enough Thais with children, apparently coming here for educational purposes. And few Europeans, who overestimated the strength of their spirit, pay attention to the more harmless sights of the park - for example, a large metal Buddha statue.

Grüner See Park, Austria

In winter, when the Austrian Hochschwab mountains are covered with a cap of cold white snow, the park of the town of Tragoss looks like a familiar walking area. Here gather those who wish to breathe full chest clean air and wander along the winding paths, enjoying the picturesque panorama of a greenish, completely shallow lake. But one has only to warm the first rays of the warm spring sun, as the picture changes dramatically, turning the Grüner See into one of the most unusual parks in the world. Streams of melted snow, leaving high peaks flow down, filling the lake to the very brim.

Until the frost, park alleys, benches and groves are hidden under water, becoming a completely different garden - an underwater paradise for divers. Forgetting about the previous two-meter depth, the mountain reservoir becomes a 12-meter giant, hiding emerald alpine meadows under a layer of refreshing (about +5 °) water. Now, in order to relax on a bench, you will need scuba gear, and silent fish will take the place of vociferous birds for a long time.

Ashikaga Flower Park, Japan

In the city of Ashikaga, which is hidden in the heart Japanese island Honshu, there is a place as beautiful as Paradise forever lost to people. Throughout the year, regardless of the calendar and weather forecasts, eternal summer reigns in Ashikaga Flower Park. From February to March, plums, tulips and daffodils bloom here, from April to May azaleas and rhododendrons delight the eye. All summer hydrangeas, petunias, irises and clematis explode with colors, and in autumn, when the whole area goes into hibernation, the air is filled with the aromas of blooming saffron.

The best time to visit the Ashikaga Flower Park is considered to be the beginning of May, when, having taken the baton from Tokyo, amazing wisterias open in full bloom here. Old plants with purple buds, which are already a hundred years old, form a long tunnel of love. Not far behind him is a large gazebo of white wisteria, and thickets of yellow broom, winding around bizarre structures. The gates to the Garden of Eden open daily at 9.00 and close at 18.00.
