Trip to rio de janeiro for the new year. Beaches. Which ones are better. Rio de Janeiro - holidays with children

Everyone knows that flying to South America is a very expensive undertaking. Let's figure out how you can get to Rio de Janeiro: where is the best place to fly from and which airlines allow you to fly without the threat of spending your entire budget on tickets.

A few general tips:

  • It is better to plan a trip to Rio between the second half of January and the beginning of June, as well as from the end of August to the beginning of December - during these intervals, ticket prices are moderate.
  • The most "expensive" months December, June, July and August. It is better not to plan to buy tickets for these months.
  • As for the days of the week, the highest probability to buy cheap ticket appears on Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Ticket prices your best bet is to check with Airsales and Skyscanner - these metasearch engines look for the cheapest tickets among all the major airlines and agencies.
  • Remember to have transit visa if you are flying to Brazil with a stopover in the USA!
  • Want to find the cheapest tickets? We will teach you how to look for them correctly.

Prices in the article for convenience are given in rubles. The euro exchange rate at the time of publication is 65 rubles.

How to get to Rio de Janeiro from Moscow

The cheapest tickets from Moscow to Rio de Janeiro and back are usually with the American airline Delta (from 35,000 rubles), the most expensive with Lufthansa.

Almost 10 thousand more expensive (compared to Delta) are Alitalia and British Airways tickets - round-trip prices start at 45,000 rubles. From 47 thousand you can find tickets from TAP Portugal, from 53 thousand - from Etichad and American Airlines.

When planning to fly from Moscow to Rio de Janeiro and choosing between airlines, I would prefer Delta services (ten thousand rubles will never be superfluous), besides, the airline sometimes offers surprisingly low prices for flights to South America. For example, there are sales of tickets from 25,700 rubles in almost all South American destinations, and in November last year, tickets to South American countries cost in general from 19,800 rubles!

However, there are nuances that overshadow the joy of cheap tickets: since Delta is an American airline, connections also take place in the United States. Firstly, for this you need to have an American visa, and secondly, two transfers are made, which takes a lot of time.

We will certainly write about the appearance of interesting promotions and glitches in pricing on the make-trip.ru website.

How to get to Rio de Janeiro from St. Petersburg

It is more budgetary to fly to Brazil from Moscow - the prices for tickets departing from the northern capital are higher. The cheapest way to get from St. Petersburg to Rio de Janeiro again Delta airline(from 42 thousand rubles for a round-trip ticket). The cost of tickets for Lufthansa and Swiss airlines starts from 59 thousand rubles, AirFrance - from 65 thousand rubles.

From Yekaterinburg to Rio de Janeiro, the cheapest ticket can be purchased for 69 thousand rubles (British Airways), but you will need a UK visa, since the transfer is carried out in London - it is extremely inconvenient. Flydubai, TAP Portugal and Lufthansa fly pretty cheap. Flying on board AirFrance will cost 75 thousand rubles or more. There are combined flights: Czech Airlines+ TAP Portugal (from 75 thousand rubles), KLM + AirFrance (from 76 thousand rubles) and so on.

To Rio from Novosibirsk

TAP Portugal has tickets for almost 58 thousand rubles round-trip, which is quite cheap. British Airways tickets cost from 74 thousand rubles, AirFrance - from 81 thousand rubles.

Rio ... Doesn't some traveler's heart tremble at the mention of only the first syllable? From the Portuguese language, the name of the city of Rio de Janeiro is translated as "January River" - it was at this time of the year that the Portuguese navigator Gaspar de Lemos discovered Guanabara Bay, mistaking it for the mouth of the river. Somewhat later, when the mistake was discovered, and it turned out that it was not a river at all, but the name had already taken root, so the city that grew up in those parts began to be called that.

Today, Rio is the second largest city in Brazil with breathtaking scenery, a developed beach culture and, of course, the famous annual carnival. Rio's unique "river-like" harbor is famous for its mountain sugar loaf and Cocovardo Peak, as well as the Tijuca Hills. All this makes her one of the natural wonders Sveta. But there are still the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanemi and the very famous statue of Christ. It is not surprising that many are mistaken in believing that Rio is the capital of Brazil (it really was, but only until 1960).

Cuisine and restaurants in Rio de Janeiro

Throughout Brazil, cuisine is a symbiosis culinary traditions Arabs brought here from Africa, European settlers and local native Indians. One of the most popular dishes in Rio is "feijoada", a goulash made from dried meat, beans, spices and smoked meats, the rest is determined solely by the richness of the chef's imagination, so if you decide to try it, it is better to do it in a good restaurant.

Of the drinks, first of all, of course, you should pay attention to coffee, it is brewed here truly masterfully, obtaining unusual tastes and aromas. For many, Rio de Janeiro is associated with a mug of foam, considered one of the best in the world, a popular variety - "Brahma". However, beer is far from the most interesting Brazilian alcohol, if you decide to study the issue, be sure to pay attention to "cachaça" - a strong alcoholic drink made from sugar cane. The most valued is the “cachaça from the hacienda”, which is not exported abroad. A very popular caipirinha cocktail is made from the drink.

You can also try local wines and smoke a cigar. You can buy both at Trinidad Tabacaria and Cafe e Charutaria Lollo stores, and tastings are held at Planeta Sonho.

Food in Brazil is elevated to a special cult, and therefore there is plenty of food. The most economical tourists usually go to eateries, where they serve not only sandwiches, but also local fast food - pies with various pasta fillings. For dinner you can go to a restaurant local cuisine, and for lunch - in the Akilo cafe, where they sell everything by weight, prices are usually lower there. Meat lovers will like the so-called "shurrascaria", where almost all dishes consist of this product. Dinner in a restaurant for two with moderate alcohol will cost 70-120 BRL.

It is considered a top holiday destination, and it has become so since the time when Brigitte Bardot and Madonna “hung out” there. In general, all bohemia strives to visit there. Don't despair for ordinary people the entrance is also open. I'm not talking about the luxury hotels of Copacabana and the rise of the world famous statue Christ the Savior, there are a sufficient number of other equally luxurious places and attractions that you can visit in this delightful city - Rio de Janeiro. So let's go.

In order to experience the atmosphere of Rio de Janeiro myself, I bought tickets through aviasales service, and went on a journey to the country of carnival and eternal holiday. Despite the fact that Brazil offers various tours, I still decided to go to this wonderful place on my own. And by buying flights to Rio de Janeiro, I flew to meet adventure.

Yacht tour in Guanabara Bay

No need for your own yacht to visit this beautiful city. But the holidays in Rio itself provide you with many opportunities. So small excursion on a sailboat to Guanabara Bay considering relatively low prices for drinks from the bar, will be a great pastime for the whole evening.

Feeling the tropical breeze and magnificent views on the horizon will make you feel like the same Madonna. Such excursions include more short-term stops on some small islands in the bay, diving and visiting wild beaches. In general, the impressions of a lifetime from a two to three hour trip will be provided to you.

Visiting Buzios

Probably not even ten sheets will be enough to describe all the charms and attractions this small town close to . Again, back to Brigitte Bardot, who, in her youth, hiding from the paparazzi, went to the then small fishing village in order to have a quiet, quiet vacation. It was her presence that helped turn that village into one of the most sought-after places in the whole Brazil.

Until now, there you can meet the stars of the world community in a simple T-shirt and shorts, drinking beer, basking in the warm sun. And believe me, here you can easily stay in regular hotel and visit an ordinary restaurant for mere mortals like me.

The beaches of Ipanema

For many years, the famous Copacabana area was considered the most fashionable place to relax in all of Rio, but for lovers of a more relaxed leisure time without large-scale parties and round-the-clock buzz, you can suggest heading further west to the Ipanema area. Or just book a tour of Rio, then you can visit a lot wonderful places. And the prices for tours, in principle, are acceptable.

My journey here began with a visit to a major hippie market for which the word "legal" does not exist. Believe me, here you can buy everything to go to nirvana or meet Bob Marley.

In addition, this region is known for cheap jewelry. For example, diamond jewelry is sold here along the beaches, like the same bakery products here. The sunset deserves special attention, which is beautiful enough to watch it on a sober head, but more romantic with a Caipirinha in hand.

Sip tea at Copacabana Palace

Copacabana Palace is considered the place where all the famous people of our generation have visited. Yes, to be honest, the Queen herself rested here. The hotel itself opened its doors back in 1923 and was a special "dacha" for the royal family and all the cream of society.

But, despite the expensive hotel rooms, here you can just sit on the terrace, drinking tea with a national dessert, and feeling like you are on top of the world. Several hundred photos will definitely decorate your album.

Dinner at the Satyricon

If you're looking for something a little more substantial than afternoon tea then I can recommend Satyricon in Ipanema. This classic Italian seafood restaurant frequented by Madonna when she is in Rio de Janeiro and the great king of football, Cristiano Ronaldo (this guy, judging by his reviews of Rio, visited all the local establishments).

It is certainly not the cheapest establishment in the city, but the service here is adequate, therefore, this place can be used as a place to spend time as a last night in Rio de Janeiro.

Climbing Mount Christ the Savior

No visit to Rio is complete without visiting one of the seven wonders of the world. Christ the Savior, or as it is called here - Cristo Retendor, is considered the largest art-decorated statue in the world. Christ statue located on the peak of Mount Corcovado in national park Tijuca Forest overlooking the entire city. This statue has become an icon not only for Rio, but for the whole of Brazil.

A short story about Copacabana deserves special attention. Copacabana beach is by far the most visited place in the world, the most popular Brazil, and one of the most famous beaches in the world.

When foreigners think of Rio de Janeiro or Brazil, Copacabana beach immediately pops up in their head (and only then, of course, samba, football, beautiful women and their characteristic carnivals pop up, Olympic Games 2016, Christ the Redeemer statue, Sugar Loaf and so on).

Talking about the best time of the year to spend a few days at Copacabana Beach

Copacabana Beach is beautiful all year round, since the weather in Rio de Janeiro from January to December differs by only two to three degrees. During the winter months (don't be alarmed that it's July, August and September) the temperature here averages 20-22°C, while the water temperature is reduced to twenty degrees.

This time can be considered complete. velvet season. In addition, this temperature is kept here around the clock, and you will not feel the difference if you go to the beach at 12 noon and 2 am. And you don't have to worry about all kinds of natural disasters like hurricanes, cyclones or tsunamis - they have not even heard of this here.

Copacabana itself in Rio de Janeiro is incredibly crowded with tourists at any time of the year, not only during the day, but also at night. Here are the numbers: 100 hotels on square kilometer, more than 1 million tourists per season, more than 20 carnival days a month and long weekends on holidays, when people from all over Brazil come there. See for yourself how many hotels there are

Such an abundance is due to the fact that it has quite decent prices for tours, besides, there are many different beautiful places, huge beaches and delicious national dishes.

Depending on your income, you can offer several hotels in different price categories. Naturally, it is considered the most famous and coolest hotel here, and in general, no one argues with this. Cheaper hotels in the western part of the city, closer to Ipanema.

Some of the cheapest places to stay are Windsor Palace and Copacabana Atlantic - mere mortals or those who are too lazy to spend money on more expensive hotels rest here.

The highlight of Copacabana is definitely its beach. In addition, I recommend visiting the huge promenade in Rio de Janeiro with dozens of cafes offering Caipirinhas of all colors and varieties.

For those who don't know, this is the national Brazilian cocktail. In addition, among the views of Copacabana, you can still recommend the Fort of the same name, which is a must-see place when you are here.

It is worth noting that bicycles are available for rent here, so for a reasonable fee you can travel not only throughout Copacabana, but throughout Ipanema.

Is it expensive to relax in Copacabana?

Copacabana is not the most expensive area in Rio de Janeiro. However, Rio de Janeiro itself is one of the most expensive cities in the world. South America, and this is felt regardless of the area in which you will be relaxing.

In fact, prices here are steadily rising every year. Are you planning a budget trip? Then visit Rio de Janeiro out of season by staying in Ipanema and in no time.

And finally, a few tips from me

1) Don't spend too much money on airport transfers. I recommend that you immediately think over the route from the airport to your place of residence, since here local bigwigs can bend such prices that you could live here for two days, and you don’t even think that it’s possible to find cheaper. The cheapest way to get to the other end of the city is, of course, by bus. The most expensive bus fare is $4. But even if you do not have the opportunity to go by this type of transport, order a taxi directly from your hotel, in any case it will be easier.

Of course, the favelas and extreme poverty in some of the indigenous Amazonian areas prove otherwise, but it's worth bearing in mind that Brazil has already eclipsed the UK as the world's sixth largest economy. True, the prices here are appropriate, the visa fee alone is 140 dollars.

3) Try to learn some Spanish

Take with you not only a Spanish phrasebook, but also a Portuguese one. A huge number of different diasporas from other countries of South America live here, which naturally affects the local dialect. Let me give you the simplest example: in one store you can buy yourself a chocolate bar, and in another they will stare at you with goggle eyes and give you a bottle of Brahma instead of the desired product. It's good to have a choice of where to buy or go out to dinner, but you won't always get that choice.

4) Realistically evaluate the possible risks of staying in Rio

For many years, Rio has been one of the most dangerous cities in South America, however, this fact has never stopped tourists from visiting it. In general, you do not have to worry about street thefts or possible violence from locals. This is absolutely not true.

I do not argue that the city has become much safer than before, and this parameter is growing every year, all the same for the sake of tourists. Now even excursions to the favelas have become available, but this does not mean that crimes are not committed in this city. Of course, one should not be paranoid, but still do not forget about the rules of being in big city I personally recommend. Be careful when you leave valuables at home, it is better to remove them from a visible place, use taxi services at night, and, of course, trust your intuition.
