Here is the platform. The train is already standing. A little more and we are already in the compartment. Literally a minute and the station outside the window began to float away. The brain was no longer capable of formulating swear words to the taxi service.

How to get to Adygea and where to live
On this trip, we were again horseless and surrendered to the mercy of Russian Railways. To be honest, in Adygea, in a good way, it is very convenient to drive your own car. In this case, you will find almost unlimited opportunities for exploring local attractions. If in Sochi we did not feel the absence of a car because of the wonderful developed infrastructure, then in Adygea this is a complete sadness. Therefore, taxi drivers help us.
As a place of residence village of Kamennomostsky fits perfectly. Many beauties can be easily reached on foot, and most of the tourist routes start from here. But the train is coming to Krasnodar, so you need to think about the transfer in advance. You can negotiate with taxi drivers or go with transfers to Maykop, and from there to Kamennomostsky. Thanks to our friend from Krasnodar, we "teleported" very comfortably in both directions.
There are no problems with housing in the village. Here you can find something for every taste and budget, from luxury hotels to authentic huts of local residents. We stayed in a guest house 10 minutes walk from the Khadzhokh gorge.
In our housing there were certain disadvantages of a domestic nature, but the undeniable advantage was a very good location and friendly hosts.

1. Khadzhokh gorge
On the outskirts of the village of Kamennomostsky is one of the most popular attractions of Adygea - Khadzhokhskaya gorge.
To date, this section of the Belaya River Gorge has become an equipped route. Entrance fee is 300 rubles for adults and 150 rubles for children. According to our subjective feelings, the price is not quite adequate. In addition, according to the old-timers who visited these places before these innovations, the canyon has clearly lost its natural charm.
Due to the fact that we lived literally a stone's throw from the gorge, her visit was postponed until later. As a result, we had a chance to walk in the rain, and the water at the bottom of the gorge lost its blue hue, turning into a dirty brown stream.
The route is quite long, crossing the bridges you can see the Khadzhokh gorge from all sides. Along the way, you will definitely meet local residents: the bear Timofey, who for some reason did not hibernate, but cheerfully waddled around the territory, she-wolves, fox, chickens, raccoon.
In places, the high stone walls were adorned with hanging icicles. The icy fringe gave elegance to the gorge.
Upon reaching the last observation deck, you will discover a bizarre a stone bridge and arches. Finally, having overcome all obstacles, Belaya breaks free at breakneck speed.
Near the gorge there is a small but very worthy cafe of the same name. They cook excellent kebabs and meat. There are not so hot with eateries in the area, so from time to time we had a bite to eat at Tesnin with pleasure.
2. Rufabgo Falls
The gorge of the Rufabgo River is unusually picturesque and very popular with travelers not only for its beautiful landscapes, but mainly for the fact that a considerable number of waterfalls can be found here. Each of them is good in its own way and not like the others. The names are so sonorous that bright images immediately appear involuntarily: Noise, Cup of Love, Rufabgo's Heart, Maiden's Braid, Cascading.
We were lucky enough to walk to the waterfalls in a twenty-degree frost along the hiking trail along the Belaya River. Everything inside trembled from the snowy fairy tale that surrounded us. I had to overcome steep ascents and descents, climb up, clinging to a ghostly support, find myself on the edge of an abyss, almost turn back, but not give up. And the reward was frozen icy waterfalls, inside which crystal water beat like an artery.

3. Lago-Naki Plateau

But this is far from full list what you can see in Adygea in winter. At the entrance to Kamennomostsky there is Museum "Garden of Stones". They took me there interesting finds, including ancient ammonites. One of them lies on the road to the Hadzhokh dolmen.

It is for them that routes are offered that pass through the Logo-Naki plateau with subsequent climbing to the mountains: Oshten, accessible for climbing from all slopes, Fisht, which in Adyghe means “gray head”, or Pshekho-Su (translated from Adyghe “water princesses"). Those who choose the location of the recreation center of Adygea in the village of Kamennomostsky receive the widest selection of objects to visit: the Skvoznaya cave, where, according to the Adyghe legend, the giant Rufabgo once lived, the Khadzhokh gorge, the Rufabgo waterfalls, which include as many as ten waterfalls : Noise, Heart of Rufabgo, Cascade, Maiden's Braids, Cup of Love and Lace, as well as other Adyghe sights.
Moving south from Kamennomostsky to Guzeripl, there is an opportunity to visit Granite Canyon, to see the Cossack stone, and near the village of Khamyshki to explore Mount Monk, which got its name, according to local legends, in honor of the monk who once lived on its top.
However, the glory of Adygea lies not only in its natural objects, there are other interesting sights. So, many guests of the republic go to St. monastery, which attracts not only tourists, but also pilgrims from all over the world, and is located near the village of Pobeda, or tend to visit numerous mysterious dolmens, consisting of large stone slabs, the most famous of which is Hadzhokh, which was built in the third millennium BC . The republic also has ancient fortresses, Scythian burial mounds and many other buildings and objects of interest from a historical point of view.
Every year, the Belaya River near the village of Guzerpil is the venue for the Interrally Belaya spring tourist and sports games, the program of which includes the All-Russian championship in water tourism and one of the stages of the rafting championship.

The first time we were in Adygea a few years ago - just one day. However, he forever left in his memory the most beautiful mountain scenery with rivers churning in narrow canyons and multi-meter waterfalls. And most importantly, the desire to return to this paradise. Memory is a strange thing, it removes thoughts to the back of consciousness for a long time and unexpectedly returns them ... This spring, the news about the holding of the European Rafting Championship in Adygea evoked everything that happened, becoming a catalyst for our thoughts and feelings ...
Kamennomostsky is famous for the Khadzhokh gorge - narrow and deep gorge, and it owes its name to it. This miracle of nature was created by the Belaya River, which, having met a limestone layer on its way, laid an intricate half-kilometer corridor in it, and in some places a tunnel.
Later, the "ceiling" in this tunnel partially collapsed, forming stone bridges. The river here is like an enraged genie escaping from a bottle: the stream rushes at breakneck speed and a booming, displeased roar. If you search, you can find a ladder leading to the water itself. And standing above the furious stream, clinging to the yellow railing with primal horror and delight, feel the full power of this element. And at night over the gorge mysterious light the lanterns are lit... In the morning it is hard to believe that I have woken up. The end of April, and from the window you can see a blooming garden, blossoming lilacs, and on the horizon - mountains completely covered with lush greenery. On the street - a warm sun, a light breeze stirs the air, infused with aroma coniferous forests and forbs of alpine meadows ...
You understand that mountainous Adygea is one big natural attraction after ten minutes of talking with a guide, and then, no matter how much you come, you begin to regret that there won’t be enough days anyway to see everything. We had only 4 days for everything - about everything.
In the first of them, we went to the Guam Gorge - absolutely fantastic place, where the height of the cliffs hanging overhead reaches 400 meters, and multi-meter waterfalls break down from them, like strands of gray hair developing in the wind, or flowing with tears. If Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson saw this gorge, it is still a big question whether he would shoot all the scenes of the film in New Zealand ...
Back in 1934, prisoners cut a niche in the wall of the gorge with pickaxes for a narrow gauge railway. Now tourists walk along the sleepers. In the middle of the gorge there is a small house where an extremely sociable caretaker lives - just a "storehouse" of information. He is ready not only to serve fragrant barbecue, but also to tell a lot of interesting things: about mysterious caves and foreign conquerors, who were stopped here by local residents in ancient times.
In fact, Adygea is very rich in colorful gorges. No less picturesque is the Granite Gorge of the Belaya River, which we managed to look into on the second day of our stay in Adygea, heading from Kamennomostsky to Guzeripl - a cult place for Russian watermen. From here begins the water route, the passage of which is a kind of exam for professionalism. This year, for the first time in Russia, the European Rafting Championship was held here.
Teams consisting of 6 athletes not only overcame the most difficult natural obstacles - rapids, but also passed gates built from wooden poles suspended above the water. The boat starts, the spectators freeze, watching every stroke of the oars, the raft turned around - a collective sigh, they covered the distance - a roar drowning out the rapids - here they really "get sick", because this rafting is beautiful and risky at the same time.
In Guzeripl itself, the largest dolmen in Adygea is located - mysterious building from huge stone slabs, somewhat reminiscent of a beehive, and the Museum of Nature of the Caucasian State biosphere reserve. On the walls of the museum there are various stands with dried plants, in the middle there is a tree surrounded by three "artificial" brown bears. A significant part of the museum is occupied by materials on the work on the restoration of the bison population, a significant part already because there is a stuffed animal of this huge furry animal.
The third day of active recreation in Adygea we devoted to a walk to the waterfalls on the Rufabgo River. The waterfalls are located just a few kilometers from the village of Kamennomostsky. A wide path leads to the first waterfall. However further way runs almost according to the principle: the farther into the forest, the more firewood, or rather stones. The trail rises several meters above the ground, interrupted by slippery rocky steps. Alternating, steep ascents and slippery descents follow, the natural ladder for movement along which are the roots of trees.
That is why most people do not go far, they looked at a couple of waterfalls and back. Many end their tour near the Rufabgo Heart Falls: the river bends around a boulder and falls into a canyon. ancient legend says that the stone blocking the stormy river is the heart of an evil giant, which was pulled out by the brave young man Khadzhokh, who did not want to give his bride to him. We passed this and two more waterfalls, and then climbed up the path for a long time to look at the Rufabgo gorge from a cliff several hundred meters away. We also had a small picnic here. Tea, sandwiches with Adyghe cheese, a breathtaking view of the gorge, the sound of waterfalls somewhere below, around chic burgundy wild peonies, which any flower bed near Moscow would envy ... Isn't this happiness?
Three days in Adygea flew by instantly. On the fourth day we were expected by a meeting with the high-altitude plateau of Lagonaki and the Big Azishskaya cave. By car, we went high into the mountains, periodically stopping at the observation decks. The Lagonaki highlands are rich in caves. Located in the southern part of the Azish-Tau ridge at an altitude of about 1600 meters, the Big Azish Cave is said to be the most visited. For excursions, about a third of the cave is equipped - 220 meters. At the entrance to the cave there is a metal staircase going underground. It leads to halls equipped with walkways, which contain a huge number of all kinds of stalagmites, stalactites and stalagnates, in which, for a long time underground, the guides managed to see different fairytale heroes, and now they are trying to convince everyone else that they see Baba Yaga, Santa Claus, Don Quixote and many others in the cave.
From the asphalt cave the road goes higher into the mountains - and somehow abruptly ends at the Azish pass. Next is the territory of the reserve. This place offers a view of the Lagonaki plateau - a colossal area of alpine meadows at an altitude of about 2000 meters. The guide says that standing on the observation deck, almost everyone, with the exception of golfers, feels the desire to become a bird ... The romance of limitless expanses ...

Having decided on a place of rest, the whole family was preparing for a trip to May holidays. They took everything they needed: clothes, dishes, shoes, food, money. The car on which we make all our trips is Lada Priora 2010 of release. It is quite comfortable for us, and most importantly - economically, because gasoline consumption is only 7.5 liters per 100 km. Our choice fell on the Republic of Adygea with its beautiful landscapes, mountain paths and dangerous gorges.
Road Rostov-on-Don - Krasnodar
We planned a route through the city of Krasnodar in order to take a walk along the local wonderful embankment with the children and admire the park area near it. The weather in May was wonderful, but you still need to dress well and take light windbreakers just in case. Having traveled along the federal road for about 4 hours and 20 minutes (without stops), we decided to take a break. We walked through local shops, walked along the embankment in the evening, however, we didn’t take pictures.
Nearby is a beautiful park "30th Anniversary of Victory", here you can see and take pictures for free with military equipment. We had a bite to eat with sandwiches that we took with us on the road, but there are a lot of cafes and stalls in the park with various food - pancakes, hamburgers, french fries, etc.

In Kamennomostsky village, we stayed at a pre-booked hotel "Park Khadzhokh" (link for review and booking). The staff there is very friendly, they will help you book seats and tell you how to get there. The hotel is located on main street Mira, d. 40, so I didn’t have to look for a long time. The hotel is made of logs, so every room smells like wood. The rooms were both hot and cold water. There are three of us in the family, and we booked a room for three: a bathroom with a cabin, a TV, a refrigerator, a balcony. Children under 3 years free. The hotel is two-story, the rooms, corridors and on the territory of the hotel are very clean, and there is a private swimming pool and sauna in the yard.

The bath must be booked in advance so that they have time to melt before your arrival. We arrived in the evening, checked in, laid out our things and went into the yard to cook dinner on the grill (we took food with us in advance). Barbecue is provided free of charge. St. Michael Athos Monastery
On the first day of our stay in Adygea, we set off from the village of Kamennomostsky (old name Khadzhokh) to the Lago-Naki plateau. On the way we stopped at St. Michael Athos Monastery.
It is about 15-17 km along a good asphalt road. The monastery is considered an architectural monument of these places. We didn’t get to the service, but we went into the temple, went up to the bell tower and to the observation deck.

We swam in it, standing in line for about 2 hours.
We took water from the holy spring and went down the same road to the car. To collect water is also a queue. The water flows slowly. A 5 liter bottle is drawn in 3 minutes.
To the left, a path led to old abandoned caves, but we did not go into them, as there were small children with us. They need warm clothes and flashlights.

We returned to Kamennomostsky and at the end of the village we turn left following the sign - to the Khadzhokhskaya gorge nature reserve. There is a small car park (free of charge). At the box office bought tickets to visit the gorge. Children cost 100 rubles, adults - 150 rubles. The residence time is unlimited. The height of the walls in the canyon is up to 37 meters.

This is the gorge of the Belaya River, where excursion route. In general, the length of the route is up to 500 meters. Everything is equipped quite safely - stairs, railings. The canyon is a natural monument.

There are a lot of beautiful places where you can sit down to relax or take pictures. We saw an interesting washbasin, by the way, in working condition, you can wash your hands.
A small zoo is equipped on the territory: ostriches, foxes, raccoons, hares and a brown bear. Feeding no one is allowed - a fine.
You can go down to the river very close, where the ears are pawned by the noise of the raging water. An impressive sight. But it is slippery from splashes, so you need to hold on to the railing.

Rufabgo waterfalls
Rufabgo is a stream that is located a little upstream of the Belaya River. A paid entrance is organized on the territory of the excursion zone - adults 250 rubles, children 100 rubles. There is something to see - the waterfalls are not too high, but they amaze with their interesting curves and splashes. For example, the waterfall "Cascade" - it is difficult to get close to it. But the waterfall "Bowl of Love" is more calm, we managed to get closer.
The beauty there is incredible, but for some reason we forgot to photograph it all.
Leaving the waterfalls on the road up, we reached the village of Dakhovskaya and turned right in front of it. There is a huge rock here that you need to drive around, and there is also a small platform to stop and admire.
We passed the bridge and the road began to go up to the plateau. Kilometers 8 at the top the road is terribly broken. And very narrow.
As a result, we lost 2 hours due to the fact that the tire was punctured. Cellular above is not.
We were waiting for someone to stop and help us remove the punctured wheel, since we did not take the tool. The locals turned out to be friendly - they helped not only with the instrument, but also told where else you can go, where to take pictures and good prices buy souvenirs.
The asphalt ended and the dirt road began. Here we have the Lagonaki Highlands: the height is 2000 meters, it takes your breath away when you look down.

In May, snow still lies on the plateau, a haze of clouds spreads over the peaks of the highlands. It is noticeably cooler here than at the waterfalls.
We bought tickets and waited for the tour group to pick up.
There is a recreation area - gazebos, cafes. We bought herbal tea, tasted real Adyghe cheese with various additives. After visiting the caves, we bought home cheese and bags of high mountain tea here.
How excursion object The cave has been operating since 1987.
About 200 meters are reserved for the excursion zone of the cave. The paths are safe, railings, light - all this allows you to move around calmly and enjoy the view of the cave.

If you have time to visit any excursions, then a 3-6 hour journey through the Mishoko Gorge on horseback will be quite interesting. We stopped at the Ranch, not far from our settlement, and the owners organized a real 3-hour horseback ride for us. the most beautiful places Mishoko gorge.
The horses are very smart, it is a pleasure to manage them. Some of their horses took part in the filming of films.
After the tour, they gave us tea to drink and showed us how their farm is organized - they raise dwarf chickens that lay small eggs.
Arriving at the hotel, we were very tired, but found the strength to cook fish soup on a fire, which we bought from local fishermen.
When we drove home, we captured beautiful view across the bridge and nature.

Our expenses for the whole trip turned out to be minimal, considering that we visited a lot interesting places. We spent 1,500 rubles on gasoline (36 rubles per liter) one way. Accordingly, the same amount on the way home. At the hotel for 1300 rudders for three per day (payment for the room). We had our own food for three days. Then we bought products in the local Magnit, the prices are the same as in Rostov-on-Don. We took home high-mountain tea in packages of 200 grams: the price is 80 rubles per package, Adyghe cheese: 250 rubles a circle.
