How to travel to Crimea on your own. Expenses for the road to the Crimea. Fortress and mysterious cape

In the article we tell in detail how to independently reach the Crimea by car in 2019. We share tips on traveling to Crimea by car from Moscow (and other cities) for 2019. Let's talk about how to cross the ferry Kerch Strait and tell you where to buy ferry tickets in advance.

The route to Crimea can be easily made by any navigator or application like Maps.Me, 2Gis, Google Maps and Yandex.Maps. The main route to the Crimea lies through the M4 (E115) "Don" highway. On the highway, you need to get to the port "Caucasus", and from there by ferry to the Crimea (until the bridge is built). We describe the route in more detail below.

Route Moscow → Crimea by car (2019)

The main route from Moscow to Crimea by car:

  1. From Moscow (MKAD) exit onto the M4 Don highway and move towards Voronezh, bypassing it.
  2. Then we move along the M4 highway to Rostov, going around it as well.
  3. From the M4 highway we turn after the Kislyakovskaya sign and move to the Kislyakovskaya station.
  4. After all, we move along the main points: Leningradskaya - Kanevskaya - Timashevsk - Slavyansk-on-Kuban - Temryuk - Port "Kavkaz".

Note: be careful and after the traffic police post in Ilyich, look for the sign "Sea Terminal".

On the road Moscow - Crimea, you can seriously get stuck in traffic jams for many hours, to help you avoid them, we wrote below.

Toll sections of the road M4 "Don" (Mokva → Crimea)

There are paid sections of the road on the M4 Don highway. The fare is not high and fully justifies itself: the roads are maintained in good condition. The infrastructure is also well developed here.

Do not try to bypass toll sections of the road in the hope of saving money. Driving around these sections will only increase your travel time and fuel costs by 15-20%. In addition, bypass free roads are often inferior in quality to paid ones at times.

What swings prices, then on toll roads ah they are lower at night (from 00:00 to 07:00).

If you move along toll sections of the road from Moscow to Crimea by car, then at night the total amount will be 540 rubles, and if during the day from 7 am to 12 am, then 840 rubles.

If you have a T-pass transponder installed in your car, then a trip during the day will cost 597 rubles, and at night 420 rubles.

Problematic sections of the road on the Moscow-Crimea route

There are 3 main problem areas on the Moscow-Crimea route:

  1. At the entrance to the village of Losevo in the Voronezh region. (excl. 22:00 to 07:00)
  2. Road in front of Rostov-on-Don
  3. Railway crossing in Timashevsk

Note: Many local residents are ready to show a detour for a fee of 500 rubles.

In order not to stand in a traffic jam for hours and not pay an extra 500 rubles, there are several options to bypass these sections of the road.

  1. Bypass Losevo

In order to bypass the problem area with Losevo, it will be enough to lay a road through the neighboring villages: Sredny Ikorets - Liski - Kamenka - Pavlovsk.

Note : such a detour can take about 50-60 minutes (90 km).

  1. Road detour in front of Rostov

Here you can use 2 options:

From M-4, you need to turn to Novocherkassk, and then move along the Bolshoy Log-Aksai route.

For directions to the Crimea, many drivers use an alternative route: the village of Krasny Kolos - Krasny Krym-farm Leninavan - Koisuga - Novoaleksandrovka. And then Michurinets-3, through Peshkovo to the villages of Starominskaya and Staroderevyankovskaya (Kanevskaya).

  1. Bypassing the problematic track of Timashevsk

The main problem in Timashevsk is the traffic jam near the railway crossing. Therefore, resourceful drivers find workarounds.

Ignoring the ring road to Timashevsk, we continue to drive further towards Krasnodar. It is necessary to find a turn into the city on the street "50 years of October". Then we move to Shevchenko street, here you need to turn and go to Brativ Stepanovyh street. Further to Profilnaya street, where we cross the railway crossing and head to Pobedy or Voroshilov street.

You can also ignore the road through Timashevsk and take a different route: Highway M4 - the village of Kanevskaya - Bryukhovetskaya - Novodzherelievskaya - Grechanaya Balka - Slavyansk in the Kuban.

By car through the Kerch Strait

On a ferryboat

Most questions arise about crossing the Kerch Strait by car. In order to get to the Crimea, you need to get to the port "Kavkaz" and take a ferry. After the introduction of electronic ferry tickets, life for motorists has become much easier: many hourly traffic jams have been reduced significantly.

Note : during a storm, ferries stop running.

If you bought a ferry ticket in advance, then you move in a special (priority queue) and do NOT wait for hours in a general queue, which can stretch for several hours. You can buy tickets on the official website gosparom.ru.

Note : On the ferry and in the port, food and water prices are high, so it is better to take care of food and water in advance.

    • Specificity mountain roads. The Crimean mountains are very dangerous for inexperienced drivers, there are a lot of difficult serpentines and narrow sections. The speed here is limited to 40, and sometimes up to 20 km per hour.
    • Car service and gas stations. In principle, there are no problems with this in Crimea, but the quality of service is not always satisfactory. It is better to stop at those stations that are part of large network companies.
    • Night traffic. It is better to plan the time so that at the stage of moving the mountain range it was morning or afternoon. It's dangerous to drive here at night.
    • Campsites and car parks. In order not to look for where to stay for the night in one place or another on the peninsula, stock up on a map of campsites and tent camps with the possibility to park the car. This will save you time for more interesting walks and excursions.

    The tourist route includes both the cities and towns we visited within the framework of the previous ones, and those planned for visiting. The itinerary can be changed at your discretion, and the list of attractions does not claim to be complete. If you know interesting sights that are not included in the list, write in the comments, we will be happy to supplement the article.

    This is how the route across Crimea looks on the map from Kerch to Tarkhankut (Belogorsk and Old Crimea not included, because Google did not allow more tags):

    Kerch - Bosphoro Cimmerio

    Our itinerary of a great journey through the Crimea is opened by the Hero City of Kerch. This is one of ancient cities world, but unpopular with tourists. Many people in Kerch are only passing through or devote no more than one day to the city, but in vain - there is something to see here. A lot of ancient settlements, monuments and burials will interest lovers of antiquities: the settlements of Panticapaeum, Mirmekiy, the Tsarsky and Melek-Chesmensky mounds, the monuments of the Crypt of Demeter and the Lapidarium. There are also ancient fortresses of Kerch and Yeni-Kale, as well as an archaeological museum.

    The nature here is not as picturesque and diverse as on the southern coast of Crimea, but in the vicinity of Kerch you can find amazing places: salty pink lake Koyashskoe (Opukskoe) in Opukskoe nature reserve, salt Lake Chokrak with healing mud and hydrogen sulfide springs, Bulganak mud hills field (valley of volcanoes) and much more. Did you know that on Kerch Peninsula there are more than 50 mud volcanoes?

    Of course, in Kerch there is no shortage of beaches, various holiday homes, hotels, cafes and restaurants - in general, the tourist infrastructure is developed here and you can have a good rest. The beaches are mostly sandy and sandy-shell.

    Personal experience. We had 1 day for the city. We saw the Yeni-Kale fortress and Mount Mithridates. We also wanted to get to Kerch fortress, but due to the construction of the bridge, the road to it was blocked.

    Feodosia - given by God

    Next stop in our great trip in the Crimea - Feodosia, or Kafa. That was the name of the city in the Middle Ages, which accounted for its heyday. In general, the city was founded in the 6th century BC by the Greeks, but the ancient buildings were practically not preserved. But the monuments of the Middle Ages have been preserved:

    • the remains of the Genoese fortress and tower (St. Constantine, Dock, Round, Thomas);
    • medieval Armenian and Greek churches (church of John the Baptist, St. Sergius, St. George, Archangels Michael and Gabriel).

    Also have Orthodox churches, the Mufti-Jami mosque, monuments, museums (money museum, museum of antiquities, hang gliding museum, A. Green museum, etc.) and fountains (Armenian, Aivazovsky, "To the Good Genius"). Many buildings of the late 19th - early 20th century (mansions, summer cottages, villas, for example, "Milos", "Flora", "Aida", etc.). And, of course, it is worth visiting the Aivazovsky National Art Gallery, which houses not only his works, but also paintings by other marine painters.

    Feodosia ends (and for many visitors - begins) Main ridge Crimean mountains, which means that the landscape outside the window from now on will gradually change - from the steppe and small hilly terrain to high mountains. In addition, not far from Feodosia, near Koktebel, there is the famous Karadag nature reserve.

    Personal experience. We chose the Aivazovsky Museum.

    Koktebel is a bohemian place

    The next point of our tourist route in Crimea is a village with the romantic name Koktebel. In fact, there is nothing romantic and bohemian in it - a typical seaside town with tourism infrastructure. But since the end of the 19th century, famous figures of art and culture flocked here, who glorified Koktebel as a bohemian place. The village is also known as a gliding center thanks to updrafts on the Uzun-Syrt plateau. He also gained fame thanks to the Fox Bay ("Fox"), chosen by naturists and hippies.

    What else to see in Koktebel and its environs:

    • the Golden Gate rock (take a boat trip);
    • salt lake Barakol;
    • Cape Chameleon, which changes its color depending on the lighting;
    • "Starfall of memories" - Mount Koklyuk;
    • paragliding flights and views from the Uzun-Syrt plateau (Mount Klementyev);
    • vintage wine factory;
    • museum of nature of Karadag;
    • for children - dolphinarium.

    Personal experience. We went to the Starfall of Memories, Uzun-Syrt, Lake Barakol and took a boat trip to the Golden Gate.

    Sun Valley - 300 Days of Sun

    The road from Koktebel is very picturesque - the route passes by Sun Valley. Bizarre rocks with vineyards on the slopes and a steep serpentine dizzy (in the truest sense of the word).

    Sunny Valley is peace and quiet, lack of tourists, deserted bays, sunny weather, cloudless skies and, of course, mountains. The valley is closed by mountains on three sides, it smoothly descends to the sea. Here, 3 km from the sea, there is a village of the same name - one of the centers of winemaking in the Crimea. Try unique wines made from grape varieties that grow only in it: "Black Doctor", "Meganom", "Solnechnaya Dolina".

    The valley is conducive to secluded relaxation and unhurried walks in the mountains. The area is full of trails! We recommend visiting Echki-Dag, there is an unusual karst cave"Ear of the Earth" - it goes deep into 132 meters.

    (Photo © Sergiy Kadulin / flickr.com)

    Sudak and the New World

    The next point on the Crimean itinerary is Sudak and Novy Svet. They need to give a lot of time - the area is rich in natural attractions. In the New World, this is the Golitsyn Trail, the Royal Beach, juniper grove, Sokol and Karaul-Oba mountains, Cosmos peak, Hell and Paradise valleys, Staircase of the Tauris. In Sudak - Genoese fortress, capes Meganom and Alchak, as well as mountains Ai-Georgy and Perchem-Kaya. We recommend staying in Sudak (housing and food are cheaper than in Novy Svet), and in the neighboring village.

    Not far from Sudak lies the Cimmerian steppe - the red Kapsel valley, mercilessly scorched by the sun in summer. Ride on it, admiring it severe beauty, pure pleasure. You can go to the coves and swim - some of them have campsites.

    We advise you to go on a boat trip with dolphins- it's amazing. They swim right under the boat and jump out of the water! You can even swim in the open sea with them. Price - 600-700 rubles per person for 1 hour. The video can be viewed on Instagram using the hashtag #boat-hunter. Book a tour by phone 89780652938, name is Vitaliy.

    Personal experience. We lived in Sudak and Novy Svet for the fourth time and visited all the sights more than once. It remains only to climb the Falcon.

    Alushta - Valley of Ghosts

    Alushta is a boring town, there is nothing interesting there. All the beauty beyond its borders is the bizarre rocks of the Ghost Valley and the Demerzhdi massif. Great luck to visit the valley in the fog and cloudy weather, when the pillars seem ghostly. Tourists are advised to meet the dawn on Demerdzhi - an amazing sight. Also of interest are Mount Kastel and the Chatyr-Dag caves, as well as the Dzhur-Dzhur waterfall near the village of Generalskoye.

    In Alushta, we saw the most boring Aluston fortress in the world - don't even waste your time on it. There is also the medieval fortification of Funa and the palace of Princess Gagarina, as well as various ancient estates. In general, tourists come here primarily for beach holiday and treatment - there are many boarding houses and sanatoriums in Alushta and its environs.

    Personal experience. We came to Alushta for the sake of Demerdzhi - there we found both fogs and the scorching sun. On the way to Alushta, take a look at the Water Disaster Museum - touching and amazing.

    Enjoy the breathtaking video from the Valley of Ghosts in the Demerdzhi Mountains:

    Yalta and its environs

    Further along the route of travel across the Crimea - Yalta. Only here attention should be paid not to the city itself, boring, large and noisy, but to its environs - Big Yalta, which includes Gaspra, Simeiz, Massandra, Gurzuf, Nikita, Alupka, etc. For example, on the way from Alushta to Yalta on on the highway (if you make a route through the Crimea) you will see a sign to the Nikitsky Botanical Garden - we recommend that you definitely visit it if you are not indifferent to the flora! In addition, Nikita is interesting Nikitskaya cleft. Next - Massandra: visit the Massandra Palace and Park, a winery where you can taste wines, and the Vorontsov Grotto.

    In the vicinity of Yalta, you can find a lot of interesting things and spend many busy days:

    • descend or climb Ai-Petri along the picturesque trails - Taraktashskaya, Shtangeevskaya, Koreizskaya or Botkinskaya;
    • visit temple cave Iograph and Wuchang-Su waterfall;
    • walk along the Solar Path from Livadia to Gaspra (or vice versa) and see the dolmens;
    • climb Ai-Petri on a cable car - next to Yalta (in Miskhor) there is just the lower station of the cable car for climbing the mountain;
    • on the Ai-Petrinsky plateau, visit the caves, walk along suspension bridge over the abyss and go down on a trolley at a speed of 40 km / h;
    • visit the Grand Canyon.

    Architecture lovers will be interested in the palaces of Livadia, Massandra, Emir of Bukhara and Count Mordvinov, Armenian church and a Roman Catholic church. Children also have something to do: in Yalta there is a theater of marine animals, a zoo and an aquarium, a crocodile aquarium and the Glade of Fairy Tales.

    Personal experience. We went up and down Ai-Petri by car, and also rode the cable car. Lesha walked along the suspension bridge to the battlements.

    Gaspra is not only "Swallow's Nest"

    Usually, when traveling around the Crimea, tourists come to Gaspra only to see the Swallow's Nest Palace. However, there are many attractions there: for connoisseurs of antiquities, we recommend the Taurus necropolises, the Roman fortress of Kharaks and the ruins of the Gaspra-Isar fortification, for lovers of trekking and outdoor activities - a walk along the "Sunny Path", where Nicholas II rested. Another attraction of Gaspra is the palace of Prince Golitsyn and Countess Panina (now a sanatorium " Yasnaya Polyana"), where the museum room of Leo Tolstoy is located.

    Not far from Gaspra is Koreiz - it is worth visiting the Yusupov Palace, where the Yalta Conference was held, Miskhor Park and the lighthouse of Cape Ai-Todor.

    Personal experience. They looked at the "Swallow's Nest" only from the side, because all the tourists out loud advise not to go inside.

    Alupka

    First of all, Alupka is known for the chic Vorontsov Palace, the former residence of Count Vorontsov. Now there is a museum in the palace, and the no less beautiful Alupka Park is spread over 40 hectares - very natural and harmonious. It is pleasant to walk here, inhaling the aromas of cypress, juniper and about 200 other plant species. Always shady and cool, the park sometimes attracts more tourists than the palace. Also noteworthy are the temple of the Archangel Michael and the temple of Alexander Nevsky, the museum-apartment of Kuindzhi.

    As for natural attractions, it is worth visiting the Shaan-Kaya rock and the lake located near it - the views of the mountain range are simply excellent.

    Personal experience. We visited the Vorontsov Palace and Alupka Park - they are really impressive.

    You can also look for housing in Crimea on the spot - as soon as you get off the bus at the station, dozens of offers for renting the best housing will fall on you, certainly cheap and always with a sea view. Classic Crimean holidays.

    Sevastopol - White City

    To see all the sights of Sevastopol and its environs, you need to spend a very, very long time. It is worth starting an introductory tourist route from the city itself: Malakhov Kurgan, ancient and mysterious Chersonese (we recommend visiting either early in the morning or closer to sunset), St. Vladimir's Cathedral and the Tower of the Winds, the "Defense of Sevastopol" panorama, Historical Boulevard, Count's Quay, etc. - the sights of the hero-city should be devoted to a separate article.

    Must see in the vicinity:

    • Cape Fiolent and jasper beach with the rock of the Holy Appearance and the grotto of Diana - you have to master 800 steps down and back;
    • the beaches of Sevastopol - there are many of them, but some of them can clearly be classified as natural attractions, for example, Lyubimovka beach is very beautiful if you go behind a heap of stones (to that part of the beach that nudists and "tent campers" have chosen);
    • Balaklava: Submarine Museum, Balaklava Bay, the Genoese fortress Cembalo, the Northern and Southern forts, the Sunny path to the tract Figs;
    • Baidarskaya valley and Fatma-Koba grotto;
    • Valley of death;
    • Inkerman: cave monastery, Maiden Tower, Chernorechensky Canyon;
    • Chorgun bridge-aqueduct and Chorgun tower and much more.

    This is only a small part of the sights in the vicinity of Sevastopol - write in the comments if you were somewhere else!

    Bakhchisarai - eastern garden-palace

    Let's continue our long journey through the Crimea - the road leads us to the ancient Bakhchisaray, the real center of the hiking and active Crimea. The city is located in the foothills, so the area is very interesting. In our opinion, the main attraction of Bakhchisaray is not the Khan's Palace (although it is good), but cave cities, fortresses and monasteries: Chufut-Kale, Magup-Kale, Kachi-Kalyon, Eski-Kermen, Tepe-Kermen, Chelter-Koba, Bakla, Syuyren, Shuldan.

    Bakhchisarai is a city with an oriental flavor, which makes it special. Be sure to visit the Karaite cemetery Balta-Tiymez, the cemetery of dervishes and Old city- very atmospheric places.

    As in Sevastopol, Bakhchisaray has a huge number of natural attractions that you cannot see in a couple of days - you need to live here for at least a week. By the way, the city has very tasty cuisine - mainly Crimean Tatars live here.

    Personal experience. We visited Chufut-kale, the Khan's Palace, Balta-Tiymez, the dervish cemetery and the temple in Laki. Disappointment befell us in the village of Laki, where we drove 20 km for the sake of the church of St. Luke. Previously, there was an unusually beautiful Greek temple with frescoes and mosaics, dilapidated in the Second world war. It still stands there - only it already sparkles with whiteness and gold in the best traditions of Orthodoxy. Caring hands restored it, painting over all the beauty and memory of the past. Now inside - a soulless white space with cardboard letters "Christ is Risen" and cheap icons.

    Watch the amazing video of the Crimean caves:

    Simferopol

    • caves (Marble, Serpentine, Red);
    • cliffs and rocks (above Kalinovaya beam, Tash-Dzhargan tract);
    • the ancient settlement Naples Scythian;
    • Kessler's estate.

    Evpatoria

    The next city on our route through the Crimea is Evpatoria. There are many religious shrines here - mosques, temples, tekie: the Duma-Jami mosque, Tekie dervishes, the temple of St. Elijah, Karaite kenas and so on. In addition, the city has many museums and monuments. What else to see? Turkish baths, kyarizes (ancient water pipes) and the Old City in general.

    In the vicinity of Evpatoria there are several salt lakes where you can improve your health with the help of therapeutic mud and mineralized water: lakes Moinaki, Donuzlav, Dzharylgach and Yarylgach.

    Tarkhankut

    One of the most impressive places in our big trip across the Crimea - Cape Tarkhankut, the most western point peninsulas. It is better to stay in the small village of Olenevka on the coast - from there it is convenient to get to the nearest attractions by bike, car or bicycle.

    Tarkhankut is famous for the picturesque Dzhangul landslide coast in the northeast and Atlesh (Big and Small Atlesh, the Bowl of Love, a lighthouse in the Mayak village) in the southeast. Miami Beach in Olenevka is sandy, and the sea is crystal clear, coral reefs are visible from the cliffs, so divers and windsurfers hang out here. Such popular Soviet films as "Pirates of the 20th century" and "Amphibian Man" were filmed on Tarkhankut.

    Personal experience. We looked at everything that is in the vicinity.

    Belogorsk - white mountain and lions

    So our journey across the Crimea ends - on the way to the Kerch bridge we will stop at a small Belogorsk. Why is he remarkable? As the name implies, there is a picturesque white mountain nearby - Ak-Kaya rock, where they filmed soviet film"Headless horseman". In addition, the area is interesting for the Kok-Asan gorge with the Chermisovsky cascade of waterfalls, which form "baths" with emerald water. The tourist route passing through the Kok-Asan canyon is extremely picturesque - we highly recommend it!

    Surely you will be interested in visiting the Taigan safari park - there you can watch lions living in the wild.

    Personal experience. We went to Ak-Kaya and to the Taigan park.

    Old Crimea

    On the way home, visit Stary Krym. This is a small Tatar town, similar to Bakhchisaray - cozy and quiet. It is notable for the mosques of the 13th-14th centuries and the medieval Armenian monastery of Surb-Khach. We visited everything there.

    So, you and your family decided to go to the Crimea by car. Leaving politics aside, this is a great choice - not only because it's affordable, but also because it's cool in Crimea. And traveling to the Crimea by car is doubly cool. Here is a guide to make your trip easy and memorable.

    Let's start with those who have never been to Crimea. There are many of them, because somehow a generation has grown imperceptibly, under the word "resort" perceiving only Turkey and Egypt. And someone, on the contrary, traveled to the Krasnodar Territory all his life, considering the trip to the Crimea too difficult due to crossing the border. Well, there is no border now, and foreign resorts are either too expensive or potentially dangerous due to the terrorist threat. In short, you went to the Crimea ...

    1. Choose a place to your liking

    Immediately forget about lying by the pool, animators, Buffet and all this "all inclusive". In Crimea, the attitude to this is the same “primitive” as in the Krasnodar Territory: everything is there, but for a lot of money. And people, in general, do not go to the Crimea for this. People come here for the sun, air and sea, greenery, fruits, walks, discoveries - that is, for the atmosphere.

    A special feature is that the peninsula is very small and at the same time very different. If you decide to do something other than lie on the beach (a really hard decision) and take a little trip around Crimea, the peninsula will surprise you repeatedly, waking up completely new and at the same time completely different sensations. For the eastern Crimea, where the plain gradually turns into the picturesque rocky serpentine of Koktebel and the New World, is completely different from western Crimea with its vast steppes and the beauties of Sevastopol and Balaklava. And the southern coast or the South Coast stands completely apart, where Ai-Petri, Yalta, Foros, a huge number tourist routes, the perfect combination of mountain and sea air and a riot of subtropical vegetation.

    There are few sandy beaches (in the east near Feodosia and in the west beyond Sevastopol), mostly pebbles, but if you wish, your own " perfect beach anyone can find. In places with a large number of "first line" hotels, access to the beach for everyone, except for the guests of these hotels, is often paid (50-100 rubles per person).

    However, there are enough places in Crimea where close to the water, ending in an almost deserted beach, are not fashionable hotels, but small villages, which probably have mini-hotels, guest houses and housing in the private sector. Once you have rested in a certain place, you will almost certainly want to return there again.

    The people in Crimea are simple and open. For the most part, residents of coastal cities live exclusively on tourism and try to provide maximum hospitality, realizing that they have to literally fight with the neighboring Krasnodar Territory for customers.

    2. Decide on a budget

    The approximate budget for a holiday in the Crimea by car for a family is about 100,000 rubles.

    A car trip to the Crimea for a couple of weeks by a team of two adults and two children will cost you about 100,000 rubles - if you keep in mind the month of June, the current prices for gasoline (Crimean gasoline costs about the same as the rest of Russia), the road to 4,000 - 5,000 kilometers, a two-way ferry crossing (more on that below), a two-room suite with private facilities, a TV and Wi-Fi, but a five-minute walk from the sea. For the same money, you can find accommodation closer to the beach, but you definitely shouldn’t book in the city center - it will almost certainly be more expensive, and it’s not a fact that it’s better than somewhere in the suburbs.

    Book accommodation through large thematic sites with good feedback, with detailed description places and photos. Consider the area in which you are going to live in advance by viewing street panoramas in Google or Yandex maps - sometimes this makes you radically reconsider your attitude towards an almost chosen option and choose a much more suitable one in terms of convenience and money.

    Breakfasts and / or lunches prepared on your own in the kitchen or on the barbecue in the yard can significantly save the budget, so it makes sense to check their availability when booking accommodation. And, of course, the amount indicated here is very approximate, giving only a general idea of the order of numbers, but it is clear that in August it will be more expensive (30-40 thousand), and together and "savages" - on the contrary, much cheaper.

    3.Complete the car, check the documents

    At this point, we have elementary things, but you know, all the mistakes in this world are stupid. For example, with a driver's license, people periodically experience various strange things: either the rights will remain at home, or they will expire right on the trip, or something else ... In short, once again.

    Check before the trip, the car must have:

    • Tools (okay, let's not show off, but at least take a spray bottle)
    • Jack
    • "Reserve"
    • first aid kit
    • Fire extinguisher
    • Check before you travel, you must have:
    • Rights
    • Registration certificate
    • OSAGO policy
    • Casco (if you insure).

    Check the expiration date or expiration date on everything that has it: first aid kit, fire extinguisher, driver's license, OSAGO, Casco. If passengers are traveling in the rear of the cabin, it makes sense to tint the windows - taking into account the hot and bright southern sun this measure will not hurt even in the presence of air conditioning.

    4. Plan your way

    It is impossible to predict for sure everything that awaits you on the roads of Russia on the way to the Crimea. If someone wrote on the Internet two weeks ago that repairs were underway at this site, then by now, as you understand, this may not be true.

    And vice versa: the “ideal road” of a month ago can turn into a rather broken surface or into a ruined “repair zone”. So you just have to be ready for anything and assume that in near-ideal conditions you can cover about 1,000 kilometers a day.

    If there is more than one driver, the mileage can be increased, but you should not abuse this if you are traveling with children and / or pets - they need more frequent rest on the road than you. For the same reason, it is worth making "pit stops" - stops in order to rest and stretch. A good schedule for beginner travelers seems to be this: Travel for 2 hours and 45 minutes, then stop for 15 minutes.

    Your car first-aid kit is already in order (see paragraph 3), but in addition to medicines, you need to have a separate “camping” first-aid kit in it, where, in addition to commonly used medicines, there will be individual ones that may be necessary for one of the travelers. Take on board a sufficient amount of drinking water at the rate of 1 liter per person - this will definitely be enough until you check into the mini market at the gas station.

    As a “snack”, kefir or drinking yogurt, as well as apples and bananas, will not be superfluous. For lunch, it is better to stop at those roadside cafes where there are several trucks - truckers eat only where they cook well, tasty, a lot and inexpensively, even if it looks like a rickety hut.

    It is better to get up for the night before dark, while the motels are clearly visible from the road and they definitely have free rooms. And also estimate the time of your arrival at the place of rest: it is possible that you will drive up late in the evening or at night, and your room will be vacated only the next day. It makes sense to discuss this moment with the meeting party and either agree on an overnight stay in another room (which is quite realistic), or spend the night somewhere in the neighborhood, or change the trip schedule ... However, everything described in this paragraph is advice on road travel in general. We pass to the Crimean realities.

    5. Bring cash with you

    Paying in shops, cafes, restaurants or hotels with Visa or Master Card in Crimea is not a problem now, although last year, say, paying with a Visa was unrealistic (as well as withdrawing money from it). But withdrawing money from cards of Russian banks is still inconvenient. This is due to the fact that many banks left Crimea after 2014 and present moment never returned (in particular, there is not a single Sberbank ATM on the peninsula), and most banks located in Crimea charge a commission of 2-5% of the amount for withdrawing funds from Russian cards.

    However, there is a way out: it is most convenient to withdraw money from any Russian card in branches and ATMs, do not take it for advertising, the Russian National Commercial Bank. It is a Russian bank headquartered in Moscow with about 300 branches in Crimea. RNKB will not charge you a commission for withdrawing money from any third-party bank, and this is a plus. The commission will most likely be from your bank, but it is not too high: in the case of Sberbank, for example, it is 1%, but not less than 100 rubles - that is, it makes sense to withdraw amounts from 10,000 rubles. Or just bring enough cash with you to not think about ATMs at all.

    6. Buy your ferry ticket in advance

    On the way to the Crimea, you reach the village of Ilyich in the Krasnodar Territory, and then a ferry across the Kerch Strait to the peninsula awaits you. Transportation of the car will cost you 1,700 rubles, they charge 150 rubles from each adult, 80 rubles from a child from 6 to 12 years old, and children under 6 years old travel free of charge (prices at the time of writing, check them on gosparom.ru) .

    If the ferry does not operate due to “actual weather”, which happens in a storm and can delay you for a long time (however, this rarely happens), then the entire procedure for crossing the strait will take you no more than two hours. It's much better now than it was a couple of years ago. Moreover, the queue for loading, paperwork and departure from the ferry will take you the lion's share of time - the trip itself by water lasts about 30-40 minutes.

    But "non-core" time can be, if not reduced, then optimized. After all, it is much more pleasant not to stand in line for paperwork and purchase tickets (the procedure takes from 10 to 40 minutes), but to get on the ferry right away, taking a convenient place for the car (first-in and out first) and seating the family at the windows on the covered deck.

    To do this, you need to buy tickets in advance on gosparom.ru or through the Gosparom application. Go to the website or download the application, register, arrange a trip, pay with a Visa, Master Card or Maestro card, go to Personal Area, print out the ticket and present it at the entrance to the ferry along with the documents for passengers and the car.

    Despite the fact that about 60% of tickets are now sold electronically, the queue of “electronic engineers” goes much faster, because they do not need to “stand at the window”, but only need to show the ticket and documents to the inspector at the car. Ferries run every hour, and those who have issued a ticket in advance have a chance to leave on the one that sails earlier.

    The only subtle point is that if you are traveling from afar, you need to more or less imagine when you will be at the crossing in order to be guaranteed to get into the time period (time slot) specified during registration (time slot), which is six hours; otherwise, you will have to deal with the exchange of the ticket. The site has a great Q&A section that explains literally everything.

    7. Decide what you want to see in Crimea

    We have already said that the Crimea is full of interesting things and it will not be superfluous to ride around the surroundings. Moreover, the whole Crimea is, in fact, the neighborhood: the distance to the point of interest to you in opposite side peninsula can be a maximum of 200-250 km.

    However, keep in mind that, most likely, these will not be the 250 kilometers that you are used to in the central part of Russia: there are few direct routes in Crimea, much more - mountain and coastal serpentines. If desired, you can create more long route moving along the perimeter of the peninsula along the coast. Then the trip can be stretched for a week, spending the night each time in a new place, combining autotourism with small trips to the sea on a boat, because it is more logical and more interesting to get to some sights by swimming.

    Let's say what not ideal route- on the wineries of the Crimea: start in the New World, aggravate in Massandra and, if you allow, (and most importantly - if your health allows) "lacquer" in Inkerman. But you have to either go without children and with a non-drinking friend, or somehow negotiate with your wife.

    But seriously, those places that you want to visit in Crimea, of course, you can choose while already on vacation, but it’s better to do it in advance - until the moment when you lie like a seal on the beach and don’t want to go anywhere.

    8. Beware of thieves

    Unfortunately, there is such a topic: in small settlements rob motorists. For example, in the village of Ordzhonikidze (the locals call it Ordzho), which is generally very nice and picturesque, local crooks, corny sowing bushes, "weed" a suitable car with non-local numbers in the parking lot, while the owner nearby enjoys the view or swims, breaks the glass, opens the door and drag everything that is dragged.

    This does not happen in cities, and in general in Crimea the criminal situation is favorable, but in suspicious sparsely populated places it is better not to experiment with fortune. If there is no secure parking nearby, there is almost always an option to leave someone at the car or simply not stop where the terrain does not inspire confidence. It is also worth paying attention to roadside announcements - sometimes conscious locals write warning words like “be careful, they open cars” with paint right on the pavement.

    9. Get ready for different roads in Crimea

    When you cross the ferry to the peninsula, you will find yourself in the suburbs of the city of Kerch. The highway passes right through this city, and the roads there are ... Russian. Well, then - differently. Somewhere the roads have been “killed” since the time of Ukraine, and somewhere there is already new asphalt. The serpentine in the Koktebel region is good, as well as on the highway that goes from Simferopol to the north, to Dzhankoy ... But the road from Feodosia to Simferopol last year just started to be repaired and was an explosive mixture: sections with repairs taking place on them, a repaired new canvas and pieces of the track with a very old broken surface.

    We must be prepared for the fact that both very good and simply disgusting sections of the roadway come across. In addition, repairs that began a year ago will probably continue this year, so some areas may simply be blocked. However, Crimea is very simple in terms of navigation, and there is always an opportunity to choose a detour route. And no matter what road you have in the Crimea, know that you will have a not too long, but certainly an exciting trip. Good luck!

    In May, it is planned to launch car traffic on the Crimean bridge, which will reduce travel time. How long will the road take and how many banknotes to prepare for the journey?

    Summer is already on the nose, which means it's time to choose a route and destinations for your vacation. If we confine ourselves to Russian leisure options, more and more interest is ... yes, yes, Crimea. Getting there very soon will be quite easy due to the opening of the bridge of the same name - the longest domestic structure with a length of 19 kilometers, which cost 227.9 billion rubles.

    Advantages of a bridge over a crossing

    With the beginning of movement on the bridge, it will be possible to forget about the blocking the way Kerch ferry and loading on the ferry, no longer depend on its workload or the vagaries of the weather. Overcoming the water segment lengthened the path - the time of "swimming" took from 15-20 minutes and almost up to an hour, not counting the waiting time for the ferry. Do not forget about the admonition of some travelers to book a ticket for the “ship” in advance, otherwise there is a risk of standing in line. Of course, not everything is as bad now as it was in 2014, when people stood at the crossing for more than a day: now ships run more intensively, and again there is an electronic queue.

    However, sometimes the whole procedure from registration to arrival in Crimea takes 40 minutes, and sometimes the bill can go up to hours. So, with the opening of the bridge, it will allow you to “fly” a segment over the sea surface and no longer be tied to a conditionally “plugging” place. In addition, the route can be calculated without spending the night, although not everyone can master the entire journey without sleep.

    Where to stay overnight

    The main route leading both to the Crimea and to the south of the motherland in general is the M-4 Don. The distance from the capital to the bridge is about one and a half thousand kilometers. Some travelers who can absorb this distance in one sitting recommend leaving as early as possible in order to arrive at the crossing before midnight or - soon! - to see the beginning Crimean bridge. However, not all of us claim the "iron butt" (iron butt) award, so the road can be stretched. One of the options is to stay in Rostov-on-Don for the night, where there are a lot of hotels, but the prices are the highest - an average of about 2,500 rubles per day. Or stay in one of the affordable hotels in Novocherkassk or drive to Timashevsk. There is less housing here, but it is cheaper. Already from there, bypassing Krasnodar, you can advance to the Crimea with renewed vigor. In general, there are a lot of hotels on the way to Crimea and it is possible to choose a point for every taste and budget.

    Travelers usually recommend these cities as a transit point due to the convenience of their location - it is worth making a forced march to the south-south-west, and in a few hours you are already at the crossing. Now those who suffer southern resorts you no longer have to figure out how to get on the ferry not during the day, when there are especially many cars, but in the early morning or at night.

    Estimated travel cost in 2018

    Spending on hotels will be small, in contrast to the "funding" of gas stations. If the entire route from Moscow to Crimea and back, taking into account driving around the peninsula for your own pleasure, is taken as 4,000 kilometers with an average consumption of 95th gasoline, say, 12 l / 100 km (taking into account the likelihood of traffic jams) and a fuel cost of 42 rubles per liter , then in the end it will turn out about 20 thousand rubles. If you have a diesel car with a long range and a modest appetite, then we can only rejoice.

    For an overnight stay during the journey, lay in the region of 5 thousand rubles, although, of course, it can come out cheaper. It is difficult to judge the cost of food, because it depends on appetites. Some travelers take food with a glitch and save on food, while others do not deny themselves anything, making "raids" on roadside restaurants.

    Refueling on the way

    It is better to leave Moscow with full tank and stop at gas stations in regional centers at network stations - it is not recommended to check the quality of fuel offered by small gas stations on your car. Also keep in mind that fuel prices in Crimea are about 1-2 rubles higher than on the “continent”. You can save money by refueling in the village of "Ilyich" before the ferry, read, at the Crimean bridge. Arriving on the peninsula, do not be surprised by the unusual names "Atan", TPP and "Sovremennik". These are large local gas stations and those who have mastered the road are advised to refuel at them without fear.

    Flow Russian tourists to Crimea after its reunification with Russia has been steadily increasing. People come here to relax in groups, in cars, and on their own. About how to get around Crimea cheaper, where to visit and what pitfalls it hides Black Sea coast, says the correspondent of "Russia for All".

    Why not get out in the Velvet season for a week in the Crimea? Great idea! There is a gentle sea, fabulous mountains, cypresses and good people. I settled in Gurzuf and every day admired the famous Bear Mountain (Ayudag), wandered around the Artek, even went to visit Chekhov's dacha. To be in a beautiful bay, where Anton Pavlovich began to write "Three Sisters", you have to pay 100 rubles. The museum, by the way, is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

    To get acquainted with the main sights of Crimea, I chose independent trips because I love being in charge of my own time. From Gurzuf I got to Yalta (buses 106 and 31B run every half an hour), and already from the Yalta bus station it was possible to go to any point on the peninsula. True, in local transport- these can be yellow grooves, and ordinary gazelles-minibuses - often there are so many passengers that you have to ride standing up.

    One of the first places I visited was the Livadia Palace, the former residence of the Romanov royal family. A very picturesque park with a path of health and beautiful view on the sea. Some call the path sunny, others - royal, they say that Nicholas II liked to walk along it. It is perfect for jogging, cycling and a promenade - it's nice to walk slowly here, admiring nature and breathing in the delicious air, in which you can catch notes of lavender, juniper, cypress. The palace is also famous for its Italian courtyard, but today the guides talk about it, showing a photo panel that covers a completely lattice door - you won’t be able to walk inside.

    Here you can also visit the palace Holy Cross Church, which remembers three generations of Russian emperors. It is small, because it was intended only for the royal family.

    Disney Castle in Crimea

    There are two ways to get to the famous "Swallow's Nest", located on the sheer 40-meter Aurora rock of Cape Ai-Todor in the village of Gaspra: by sea or by bus. Regular boats run from the Yalta sea station. The ticket price - 400 rubles - includes sightseeing tour: passengers will have a fascinating story about the monuments of history and architecture of the southern coast. If there is no rough sea, you can go to the pier, go upstairs and take a closer look at this elegant, almost Disney-like building, which someone calls a castle, someone calls it a palace. If we talk about the new time, once a fashionable Italian restaurant worked in it, then the Kuindzhi exhibition opened within its walls, and last year the Swallow's Nest was classified as an object cultural heritage federal significance. Motor ships go around the rock and return to Yalta, the boat trip takes about an hour.

    Buses leave from the Yalta bus station. It'll be cheaper and faster. True, without a guide. From the stop, you will only have to overcome the stairs with a considerable number of steps down, and then almost the same number up. This one is open to the public architectural monument daily from 10.00 to 16.00, day off - Monday. Access to the area adjacent to swallow's nest", free.

    To Khersones

    I got to the hero city of Sevastopol by car and on the way stopped at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ above the village of Foros. On the way I saw travelers, perhaps even pilgrims, and did not envy them: the way up from the turn of the highway is about 4 kilometers.

    Inspired by Crimea. How was the open air of the young artists of the peninsula The church was built in 1892 on a steep cliff, Red Rock, in memory of the miracle that happened on October 17, 1888 at the Borki station of Kursk-Kharkovskaya railway: during the crash of a train going from the Crimea to St. Petersburg, the sovereign-emperor Alexander III and his family were saved. The train derailed, but the emperor was not injured. Shocked by the news of this incident, the largest Russian tea merchant and porcelain manufacturer Alexander Kuznetsov asked for the highest mercy to build a church in Foros in honor of the salvation of the emperor. The royal family often visited her.

    What to see in Sevastopol? Certainly, beautiful embankment(about 2 kilometers long) with its pearls - the Count's Quay and the monument to the sunken ships. On the opposite bank of the bay there is a complex of white buildings, these are the Lazarevsky barracks. An old building, the walls are almost a meter thick. In those buildings to the left and under the red roofs, there is the Black Sea branch of Moscow State University, opened on the initiative of the former mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov.

    In addition, I advise you to visit the ruins ancient Greek city Chersonese. The entrance to this archaeological, historical reserve free.

    Once Chersonese was a Greek colony. The Hellenes - settlers from Heraclea Pontica, which was in those distant times on the territory of modern Turkey - founded this city at the beginning of the 4th century BC. The Greek policy was erected in the south-west of Taurida (Crimea) - on the coast of a picturesque bay, which today is called Karantinnaya. Chersonese is translated into Russian from Greek as "peninsula".

    It was here that the legendary educators Methodius and Cyril, the creators of the Russian alphabet, first got acquainted with the New Testament and the Psalter. The city is also famous for the fact that the first translations of religious books into Church Slavonic were made here. The diocese of Chersonesos became the center for the spread of the Christian faith throughout Crimean peninsula and throughout Rus' - after the baptism in 988 of Prince Vladimir of Kyiv who arrived here.

    For nearly a hundred years now, archaeological excavations- one of the largest and most significant in the Crimea. During this time, the appearance of the city was restored, residential areas, squares, markets, craft workshops, merchants' shops, wineries, temples, and tombs were found. An ancient theater and a mint were also discovered, defensive towers and fortress walls.

    Vorontsov Palaces

    One of the ways to get to the Massandra Palace is to take the 29th bus in Yalta, going from the city center, or any bus at the bus station (towards Nikita, Gurzuf, Alushta, Simferopol) and get to the stop "Upper Massandrovsky Park" (this is less 4 kilometers, the trip will take 15 minutes).

    After the annexation of Crimea to Russian Empire Massandra changed owners more than once. Prince Semyon Vorontsov became its sixth owner. It was he who in 1881 began the construction of a palace in the style of Louis XIII. Designed by Etienne Bouchard. But due to the death of the prince, construction stopped. The palace has been empty for many years. Then, in 1889, it was purchased for Alexander III and finally passed to Nicholas II. The kings often visited here, but never stayed overnight.

    A ticket to the palace costs 300 rubles. Inside are unique household items, such as a fireplace made of whole piece brown marble, handmade chandeliers. Built-in mahogany furniture and mirrors have also been preserved. The decoration of the walls and vaults is damaged in places, but the palace still gives the impression of a cozy family home, as it was a hundred years ago.

    The Vorontsov Palace is located in Alupka, at the foot of Mount Ai-Petri. You can get here from Yalta by bus (goes from the bus station). The road along the mountain winding road will take about 30 minutes.

    The palace was built from 1828 to 1848 as summer residence Count Mikhail Semenovich Vorontsov. This is a huge English-style mansion with elements of Moorish architecture. The palace overlooks the sea and is surrounded by a park, which was created over twenty years under the guidance of a talented German gardener-botanist, chief gardener of the southern coast of Crimea, Karl Antonovich Kebach.

    To inspect interior interiors residence of Count Vorontsov, you need to pay 300 rubles, the entrance to southern terraces paid separately and costs 50 rubles.

    Difficulties in transferring ... money

    In Yalta itself, it is impossible not to visit the embankment. A bus ride around the city costs 12 rubles, a trolleybus will cost 10 rubles. By the way, Crimea is famous for its trolleybus route from one city to another (remember, in the movie "Assa" the hero says: "It's snowing on the pass, trolleybuses don't run"?).

    Lunch in a cafe with Crimean Tatar cuisine: soup, meat pies (samsa), tea and flatbread will cost 500-600 rubles. Tea and cake in a cafe - 300 rubles. By the way, in all the cities of the peninsula there are ordinary canteens. They can be found not far from the embankments, and near the markets, and on the outskirts.

    Please note that almost everywhere you will have to pay in cash. Most shops, cafes, bus stations do not accept bank cards. Even at Simferopol airport only in duty free managed to pay by card, food - for cash.

    Withdraw money from ATMs - please. With interest. You withdraw 2800 rubles, the commission is 100. There are no branches of Sberbank, for example, in Crimea.

    The airport is located in Simferopol. From there, buses can take you to any part of the peninsula in a couple of hours. A ticket to Yalta without luggage costs 150 rubles. With luggage - 170.

    A Moscow-Simferopol plane ticket costs 5,900 rubles (price in October 2016). This, however, without luggage, only with hand luggage (up to 10 kg is allowed). Flight time is two and a half hours.
