Planes, helicopters, rockets from Bangkok to Krabi - all this I have not personally checked. I tell those sitting on their suitcases how to get from Bangkok to Krabi by bus.

Suvarnabhumi airport- Bangkok South Bus Terminal

To get from Bangkok to Krabi by bus, you first need to get to the Bangkok South Bus Station.

If you are already in the capital, you can get from Bangkok to Krabi by buying a ticket at the reception in your hotel or hostel (transfer will be included), but it will be more expensive than if you do it yourself.

If you are traveling from Bangkok to Krabi immediately from Suvarnabhumi Airport, as I did, read detailed instructions Further.

Without leaving the airport building, we go down to the train to the city (Airport Rail Link - SA City Line) - look for clear blue signs with the image of a full-face train - they are everywhere (), we reach the Phayathai terminal station without transfers.

How to proceed in Airport Rail Link: buy a token at the window near the turnstiles, naming the station you are going to - the prices for different stations are different, for example, from the airport to the station. m. Payatai travel costs 45 baht. Apply the token to the turnstile reader as if it were a travel card. Having reached your station, at the exit you throw the same token into the turnstile token receiver - so do not lose it, otherwise you will have to buy a new one.

For those who don't want to take the Airport Rail Link train, the airport information center employees reported that you can get a taxi from Suvarnabhumi to the South Bus Station for 500 baht.

So, once at the Payatai station, we go down from the top of this elevated station to the underlying route in order to catch a taxi to the Southern Bus Terminal. At the exit to the street, pink taxis (meter taxis) crawl one after another. According to the counter comes out about 120 baht.

In tourist information center I asked to write me the name of the Southern Bus Station in Thai - what if a taxi driver comes across who does not understand English ... The name of the bus station sounds in Thai as "sai tai mai".

Bangkok South Bus Station - Krabi city bus station

Bangkok South Bus Station - everything is here: a wide selection of cafes - from local eateries to KFC, there are luggage storage (left luggage service), Big hall air-conditioned waiting rooms, tidy toilets (no soap at washbasins); right - shopping mall with low prices for consumer goods. Everything you need is written not only in Thai, but also in Latin.

Bangkok South Bus Terminal (Southern Bus Terminal, Sai Tai Mai) on the map.

Tickets to Krabi are bought on the second floor of the bus station. There are buses around seven in the morning and in the evening - starting at 18:00 (some buses from the list have been cancelled).

I took the most cheap ticket(680 baht) at 20:40 (to arrive in Krabi not too early), and did not lose - the bus is comfortable, everyone was given blankets, the fan overhead is working - it could be plugged (but it was still cool - no jumper). Around midnight, the bus made a stop, and passengers were fed free of charge in a restaurant.

11 hours on the road, were at the bus station in Krabi around 8:00 am.

The bus station is freshly built, extremely civilized, there are few people - more taxi drivers, songteo drivers and tuk-tukers waiting for passengers. There is a cafe with slow wi-fi and even an outlet (20 baht per use).

Krabi City Bus Station - Ao Nang

By the way, Krabi is the name of a province in the south of Thailand and its administrative center, which is sometimes called Krabi Town, so as not to be confused.

The cost of a plane ticket ranges from 20 to 110 dollars, depending on the type of airline, for a bus - from 18 to 30, for a train - from 20 to 50. A taxi ride will cost you $ 150 or more. The distance between Bangkok and Krabi is about 800 km by land and 650 km by air.

Thailand has a well-developed domestic air service. That is why it is recommended to fly to Krabi. Taking the bus is a good way to save money, but air conditioning makes it easy to get sick. Trains in Thailand do not adhere to such a clear schedule as in Russia, and can be two to three hours late. Taking a taxi is not a good idea as the 800 km trip is not cheap, but if you arrive after 23:00 this is the only way to leave without a long wait.

Krabi is not crabs for you

It would seem that the meaning of the name of the city is obvious. There are many crabs on the beaches, and there is even a monument to this arthropod on the embankment. However, in fact, the word "krabi" in Thai means a kind of edged weapons, which is reflected on the coat of arms of the city.
Krabi - calm provincial town. Unlike popular resorts in Thailand, housing prices are low here, and nature is no less beautiful than in Phuket or Pattaya. If you want to save money or have been to Thailand more than once, you should go here.

For Thailand, this is a very significant distance.

Krabi resorts

by the most popular resorts province of Krabi are the island of Phi Phi, where Leonardo DiCaprio starred in the famous movie "The Beach" and mainland resort Ao Nang, where Leonardo DiCaprio has not starred in any film yet. We will tell about the delights of resting in Krabi sometime in the future, but for now we will concentrate on the road from Bangkok to the famous province. Traditionally, Krabi can be reached in three ways: by bus, plane and train.
