Pros:

  • a large number of restaurants, cafes and bars, souvenir shops
  • local travel agencies offer excursions to any corner of the country. If you do not want to use their services, you can go on your own - bus service between and other cities of Montenegro is well developed
  • a wide range of accommodation of any price category

Minuses:

  • noisy (but for young people the abundance of discos and clubs is rather an advantage)
  • prices are higher than in other cities

Beaches:

Within the city there are 5 public beaches: Slavyansky, Richard's head, Mogren-1 and Mogren-2 (free), Dukley beach club(paid).

The main beach of the city (and the busiest in the season) is Slavyansky. Fans of a relaxing holiday will not like it here - loud music plays, it's crowded, and even dirty. But there are many cafes and restaurants around, there are playgrounds and water attractions. The most pure water- in the area of Mogren beaches (they are nearby, separated by a rock), from the city center you can walk here in 15-20 minutes. By the way, they are best suited for families with children - the entrance to the water is gentle, and the territory is small, which allows you to keep the child in sight. On all beaches you can rent sun loungers (from €10 to €25 per day).

TOP 3 sights of Budva and its environs:

  1. Old city. It is very compact, a walk around the territory will take about half an hour. For €1.5 you can climb the fortress wall to take a picture of Budva from above. Inside are the citadel with observation deck and a museum (admission - €2.5), 4 temples and traditional houses with colorful roofs. This part of the resort was damaged during the 1979 earthquake and was later restored.
  2. Monastery Podostrog. Former residence of the rulers of Montenegro. Two churches built in the 12th and 18th centuries have survived. The entrance is free.
  3. Saint Nicholas Island locals call it Hawaii in honor of the restaurant located here). You can buy a ticket for a boat trip with a visit to the island (€5) or come by boat (€3 round trip). This place is ideal for a beach holiday in cozy bays and snorkelling. There is a restaurant with enough high prices so take food and water with you. Entrance to the island is free, renting two sun loungers and an umbrella for the whole day will cost you €10-15.

How to get to Budva:

A trip from Tivat airport to Budva is the case when you can choose one thing: either cheap or fast and comfortable. If you vote for the first option, you will need to walk to the nearest stop and take a passing bus (about €2). If you decide to save time, order a transfer (from €20 for a car). Taxi drivers are on duty at the airport, but their services can cost 2 times more (make sure the driver turns on the meter).

Herceg Novi

This green town, located in the Bay of Kotor, is called " botanical garden Montenegro". Once upon a time, sailors brought plants here from different corners planet, and most have successfully settled down in a new place. Walking the streets, you will see giant cacti, palm trees, exotic fruits and flowers every now and then.

1 /3

Pros:

  • beautiful old city
  • green area
  • housing is cheaper than in other resort towns (for example, in Budva)

Minuses:

  • many stairs, which can be inconvenient for vacationers with large strollers
  • the beaches are mostly concrete
  • far from the main attractions of the country

Beaches

Concrete beaches predominate within the city, but there are many cozy places, which can be reached by boat for €2-5. The best of them is Zhanitsa - a beach that used to belong to Joseph Brod Tito, President of Yugoslavia.

Pros: the water is so clear that it contains sea urchins, well-known detectors of the purity of the sea (in the center of the beach, the probability of meeting them is minimal); boats leave from here to the island-fortress of Mamula, where you can also sunbathe and swim.

Cons: pebble coating (chaise lounge can be rented right there); the water temperature is lower than near the coast of other resorts.

TOP 3 attractions of Herceg Novi and surroundings

  1. Old city. Here it is " business card» resort - clock tower Sakhat-Kula, built by the Turks in 1667, inside which the Black Madonna icon is kept. We also recommend visiting Orthodox church Archangel Michael and drink water from the nearby Turkish fountain of Karacha, see the fortresses of Forte Mare (XIV century) and Kanli-Kula (XV century).
  2. Regional Museum. Located in a building built in the 17th century in the Baroque style. In addition to an interesting botanical collection (more than 100 species of flowers and other plants), archaeological finds (amphoras, tools, household items) and a collection of icons made by Kotor masters are kept here.
  3. Mount Orjen. On its top (1895 meters) snow lies until the end of May, so you have a unique opportunity to swim in the warm Adriatic Sea, and after a couple of hours go skiing or snowboarding. In clear weather, from here you can see the whole of Montenegro, part of the territory of neighboring Herzegovina, Croatian Dubrovnik and several southern islands Dalmatia. You can climb Mount Orjen or Subra by jeep.

How to get there

Again, you have two options. If you want to get there quickly and comfortably, book a transfer in advance (about €45 for a passenger car). If you decide to take a taxi at the airport, insist that the driver turn on the meter, because. during the season, cases of deception of tourists are not uncommon. A bus ride will cost you about €2, but it will take disproportionately more time: you will need to walk to the bus stop and wait for passing transport.

Ulcinj

The resort is located on the border with Albania. famous for its sandy beaches(which is rare for Montenegro), places for kitesurfing and the official nudist beach on the island of Ada Bojana.

1 /3

Pros:

  • it is usually warmer here than in other regions of Montenegro
  • there is sand at the bottom, so the water also warms up faster
  • fewer vacationers than in popular resort towns
  • prices for food, souvenirs, sun loungers are lower than in Budva

Minuses:

  • due to the fact that the bottom is sandy, the water here is quite muddy

And there are few tourists from the CIS countries, but there are many Albanians. The Russian language is not common (unlike the same Budva), but you can easily explain yourself in English.

Beaches

Most popular beach- Velika beach, 12 kilometers long, located 5 kilometers from the Old Town. The nudist beach is 17 kilometers away. If you don’t want to sunbathe on small city beaches, where there are not crowded during the season, you will have to get a car or fork out for a taxi (from €10 one way).

TOP 3 sights of Ulcinj and surroundings

  1. Citadel. While imprisoned here, Cervantes came up with the image of Dulcinea - the girl with whom Don Quixote was in love.
  2. Skadar lake. In its vicinity there are many rare birds, which are visited by ornithologists and amateurs from different countries. A boat trip on the lake costs about €7.
  3. Cetinje. ancient capital Montenegro. The most interesting sights: the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin on Chipur, the Cetinje Monastery, the palace of King Nikola I, the royal theater "Zetsky Dom" (the oldest in the country), the Blue Palace, which now houses the residence of the President of Montenegro.

How to get there

Transfer from Tivat airport will cost you from €60 for a car. Budget option - walk to the nearest stop and take a passing bus, next to the right direction. The problem is that there is only one such bus and it goes in the morning. The ticket price is about €9. You can come to Budva, and then take a bus to Ulcinj.

Sveti Stefan

An ideal place for families with children and those who do not like noisy music and crowds of tourists around.

1 /3

Pros:

  • It's quiet, clean and uncrowded. If you want to have fun, in just 15-20 minutes you can arrive in Budva by bus (€2) or taxi (€10). The route passes above the village, so the noise of the cars will not bother you either.

Minuses:

  • the resort is located on a mountainside, you will have to walk a lot on the stairs, so it will be inconvenient with a stroller. You can get around on the road, but in this case, the path to the beach will lengthen by about a kilometer
  • the beach is covered with large pebbles
  • housing prices are slightly higher than in neighboring Budva

Beaches:

The coastline of the resort is divided into two parts by an isthmus leading to private island Sveti Stefan. To his right is private beach for guests of the Aman Sveti Stefan hotel, on the left is the municipal one, where everyone can relax for free.

TOP 3 attractions of Sveti Stefan resort and surroundings:

  1. Island of Sveti Stefan. One of the most recognizable sights of Montenegro, where the former residence of the king is located, is Villa Milocer (now part of the hotel complex). Only guests of the five-star Aman Sveti Stefan hotel or guests of a very expensive restaurant who have booked a table in advance can enter the territory. The rest is left to admire the views and take photos from the territory of the public beach.
  2. Durmitor National Park. Listed world heritage UNESCO. On its territory are located mountain range Durmitor, the canyon of the Tara River (the second largest in the world), the Sushitsa and Draga rivers, the Dzhurdzhevich Tara bridge (the highest automobile arch bridge Europe), as well as the popular ski resort Zabljak. The most convenient way to get here is by car, as public transport walks rarely. If possible, stay here for a few days to see all the fun. Travel agencies offer excursions, but they tend to be crumpled and very tiring.
  3. Bar. We recommend starting the walk from the Old Town, where modern cottages are adjacent to the ruins Cathedral St. George, the churches of St. Catherine and St. Veneranda. Other sights include the Palace of King Nikola, in the building of which the historical Museum, the Church of St. Nicholas, for many years the residence of the Catholic Archbishop, and Mount Valuitsa, from the top of which the Italian Guglielmo Marconi transmitted the first radio signal from Bar to Bari.

In general, despite the fact that this town has everything you need for life and recreation, as well as a lot of hotels for every taste, Petrovac is one of the most quiet towns Montenegrin coast.

This city is one of the largest settlements on the Montenegrin coast of the Adriatic Sea. Here is located major port international importance, and there is also a parking lot for yachts, accommodating a thousand boats. Leaves Bar regularly passenger ferry to Albania and Italy. There are also historical sights here: the Old Town with a mass of medieval buildings and structures, as well as the oldest in the world whose age exceeds two thousand years. The beaches in Bar are mostly pebbly. They are characterized by a gentle entry into the water, making it comfortable to relax with small children.

Bay of Kotor

Montenegro's seaside resorts in this region include the following cities: Kotor, Tivat, Herceg Novi, Igalo, Perast and Risan. This part of the country is characterized by picturesque nature and an abundance of historical and cultural monuments. We offer a closer look at the main resorts of this region.

Herceg Novi

This city is the largest settlement in the Bay of Kotor. In addition, it is considered the most suitable both for life and for a beach holiday in this region. So, the beaches here are very clean and well equipped. They are divided into two types: pebble and platforms. In addition, Herceg Novi has a lot of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and hotels for every taste. Also, a large number of historical monuments are concentrated here.

Igalo

The sanatoriums of Montenegro on the sea deserve attention, in particular, the Institute named after Simo Milosevic, located in Igalo. The locality is located seven kilometers from Herceg Novi. The local medical center specializes in spinal problems and is very popular among Europeans.

This city is a real No wonder its ancient part was taken under the protection of UNESCO. Kotor is surrounded on one side high mountains and, on the other hand, by the sea. Many architectural monuments are concentrated here, among which one can single out the longest fortress wall in Europe. This city is mainly visited for sightseeing purposes. As for the beaches, there are quite a few of them, and the water is not as clean as in other areas of the coast.

Tivat

This city has the only one on the coast international Airport. Therefore, with a high degree of probability, your plane to Montenegro will land in this city. Resorts of Montenegro on the sea: prices, reviews

As for the cost of living on the coast wonderful country Montenegro, it varies in a very wide range. So, if it is not important for you to live in a hotel on the first line with a magnificent view, then even during the peak season (July-August), you can easily find accommodation at a cost of 15-20 euros per day. The upper price limit is practically unlimited and can reach several thousand euros per night.

As you can see, there are the most various resorts Montenegro at sea. Reviews about them are also very contradictory. However, when going on vacation, you should first of all clearly define what you want from the place where you plan to spend a few days of a long-awaited vacation. So, for example, when going to the sea with a small child or an elderly mother and at the same time choosing a hotel in Budva, located in the city center, you should not complain later about the noise from bars and discos. Or planning youth recreation and settling in quiet Perast, you should not complain about the lack of entertainment in Montenegro as a whole.

Montenegro - very beautiful country with beautiful nature, clean Adriatic Sea. Not surprisingly, more and more tourists come here every year. If we talk about its resorts, then there is a place for every wallet. You can relax on a very budget, while not feeling deprived, or you can shove by choosing high comfortable hotel with all kinds of additional services and SPA programs. Being in Montenegro, in fact, these are just trifles, the main thing is that you can appreciate the whole flavor of this beautiful country, the hospitality of the locals, try local cuisine, enjoy the virgin nature, mountains, lakes.

So, the most popular coast among tourists is Budva, here there are many resorts that have serious differences from each other. Before you go here to relax, you need to understand what you first of all expect from your vacation, what kind of beaches you want to see: sandy or pebble. How much are you willing to pay for your hotel or apartment.

The Budva coast includes such resorts as: Budva, Becici and Rafailovichi, Przno, Sveti Stefan, Milocer, Petrovac, Sutomore, Bar, Ulcinj.

Budva- most popular place among tourists, this town attracts such a large number of guests primarily because of the pricing policy. There are a lot of inexpensive housing here, this also applies to hotels and apartments. Even at the very high season in Budva you can find a place to stay, and at a very economical price. Also, there is a well-developed infrastructure, excellent opportunities for active youth recreation. There are night clubs, restaurants, shops, bars. With the onset of darkness, the city begins to glow all over, music plays from everywhere, of course, you should not compare Budva with Ibiza, the scale here is not the same, but nevertheless there is where to have fun and dance. Also, in Budva there are excellent opportunities for tennis, diving and paragliding.

The beaches here are pebble mixed with sand. The big minus of this resort is a large number of tourists. IN summer time there may be a problem with finding a free piece in order to lay out a towel. Therefore, you will have to get up earlier than you would like.

This resort is ideal for active tourists who want to explore the country on their own by renting a car, as well as for young people. For families with children and the elderly, Budva is not the best the best place For relaxation, it is better to find something quieter.

Becici and Rafailovici- two resorts located next to each other. A great option for families with children and the elderly. There is no longer such activity as in Budva. A large number of hotels gives tourists a choice of where to stay. Here is one of the expensive Splendid 5 * hotels, there is also a hotel with its own slides, and the famous Iberostar Bellevue 4 * hotel with large area, offering its guests all-inclusive meals, which is a rarity for Montenegro. The beaches in Becici and Rafailovici are golden pebbly. Also a big plus this place, the fact that all hotels are located near the sea, but I want to note that it is not entirely economical to relax here. In summer, the cost of a tour for two for 14 nights / 15 days will be from 70,000 rubles at best. There are not many apartments in this place, they are all located on a hill, so the road to the sea will not be very comfortable, going down and going up every day will not be very convenient.

For those who like to combine quiet and relaxing holiday with an active one, this place is perfect due to the fact that you can walk to Budva on your own along the seaside boulevard, the travel time will not take 20 minutes, and in the summer there is a tourist train that will help you get to the city center much faster.

Becici/Rafailovici

Przno- once this place was a fishing village and there were no prospects that tourism would be developed here. Today, Pržno, although a tiny place to relax, attracts a large number of tourists here. The reason is complete solitude with nature, the absence of noise, large hotels and cars. It is worth coming here to rest for older people who want to relax in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. It is possible that families with children can get a little bored here. Since the tourist infrastructure in this place is very small, in the evening the town dies out, only a couple of supermarkets work.

Saint Stephen- a place where a huge number of tourists come, it attracts by the fact that an island-hotel is located here. In which world celebrities often stop: Sophia Loren, Sylvester Stallone and others. It is not economical to rest in Sveti Stefan itself, the resort is considered respectable, while it is absolutely not big. There are two beaches, paid and free. On a paid one, you need to pay 50 euros per place to stay. If you want to stay here, but you do not have such funds, you can take an apartment for yourself, a day will cost 50-80 euros. The only downside to this place is that it's very vertical. Therefore, the question arises how convenient it will be for the elderly and families with small children. For young people, the place is not suitable categorically - it will be very boring. In my opinion, Sveti Stefan is suitable only for visiting it from an educational point of view.

Saint Stephen

Milocer- St. Stephen's neighbor, there is only one hotel here, the prices for accommodation in it are very high. Not every tourist will be able to afford this. Milocer has a chic park where a large number of coniferous trees and rare plant species grow. Also, this place is famous for its royal beach with fine sand. Here, as well as in Sveti Stefan, it is worth coming for sightseeing purposes, it is very expensive to stay and it will also be very boring.

Petrovac- small, very colorful village. I would single it out from all on the Budva coast. Here, as nowhere else, you feel that you are in Montenegro. Beautiful embankment With big amount tourism infrastructure, good beaches with small pebble sand cannot but attract tourists here. Also, in Petrovac there is Old city where colorful lights are turned on in the evening. The town is in great demand among tourists, but it is far from budget. The average cost of apartments in the season starts from 50 euros and more. Hotel prices are high. Petrovac - suitable for all categories of tourists, perfect place and for families with children, and for the elderly, and for active youth.

Petrovac

Sutomore- a resort somewhat deprived natural beauty, but it has long and wide beaches, both sandy and sandy-pebble. The hotel base of this place is somewhat outdated, but the choice of apartments is rich. The advantage of the resort is in its prices, a day in the high season will cost from 30 euros. Sutomore has widely developed infrastructure, there is an active nightlife for young people, an amusement park for children, a wonderful promenade, where most tourists take a walk in the evening. In general, I think that this resort is somewhat underestimated, on Russian market few people know him.

Sutomore

Bar- a large industrial and residential city. You can visit it for sightseeing purposes, but it’s definitely not worth relaxing here.

Ulcinj- most southern settlement, located on the border with Albania, is known for its long sandy beaches with shallow entry into the sea. The audience that chooses this resort for recreation is the Albanians, a very specific people. Comes to rest with large families. I would not recommend resting in this place, because being in Ulcinj there is no feeling that this is Montenegro. Very poor vegetation, high humidity, except for visiting the Great Beach, there is nothing more to do here. One day trip maximum.

Ulcinj (Great Beach)

So in Montenegro there is another coast - the Herzegnovskaya Riviera. In my opinion, it is by nature the richest, but for the most part, swimming in the sea is possible only through concrete decking or going down the stairs. I want to highlight such places as: Kotor, Perast and Risan - the villages are unique, insanely beautiful, mostly foreigners rest here, the Russian public rarely looks into these places, which is a pity.

On this coast most popular place Herceg Novi. Vouchers here are expensive, the hotel base is very large and diverse, but even a vacation in a simple hotel will not be very economical. This place is called the birthplace of artists and poets; many paintings and poems were written here. To understand why, it is worth at least one eye to visit Herceg Novi. It is very beautiful, green here, you will constantly feel a great desire to capture everything you see on your camera or camera.

The beaches here are pebbly or the entrance to the water from the pier. A completely different audience rests in Herceg Novi, many families with children, the elderly. The undoubted advantage of this place is the proximity to Dubrovnik and the presence of the medical and health center Igalo.

Montenegro wonderful country, very picturesque. Going here, you should understand that it will not be right to sit exclusively at the hotel, and even more so to take the all-inclusive type of food, unless of course you flew here with a lot of children. Must be in Montenegro active tourist, rent a car to get to know the beauty of this country much closer than you would even like.

First of all, I will say that it is most economical to fly here, as independent tourist by booking an apartment in the city you like. Flying through a tour operator is much more expensive, and the choice of accommodation will be much more meager.

In addition, Montenegro has a large number of interesting sights of a completely different orientation. This and the presence of the old city in almost every resort place, monasteries, churches, ancient forts, the feeling of the Middle Ages will haunt you everywhere. Nature lovers will discover the truly beautiful Skadar Lake with a large number of its inhabitants: cranes, storks.

Those who appreciate the winery will also fall into Right place. Near the lake there is a factory for the production of Montenegrin wines, tastings are held there, after which those who wish buy what they especially liked. And if you want homemade wine, there is the village of Virpazar nearby, where the locals themselves sell wine of their own production.

In Montenegro, they cook very tasty, a lot national dishes which are definitely worth a try. Restaurants are always glad to their visitors and in their... read more
