Now it is a museum, but before that, kings lived here, pompous balls were held with hundreds of guests. The complex consists of five buildings: just to go around them, you will not have enough for a month.

It was once calculated that even five years is not enough to carefully examine each work stored in the Hermitage. Painting, sculpture, frescoes and mosaics, household items - only about 3 million unique works of art.

The complex architecture is perfect for a Bronze Age settlement.

Salar de Uyuni is a huge prehistoric lake located in the southwestern part of Bolivia. However, this place resembles a real lake (in the traditional sense of the word) only from November to March, when, due to rains, the salt honeycombs are covered with a thin layer of water, constantly shining in the sun. At such hours, the Salar de Uyuni becomes like a giant mirror, reflecting in itself endless skies. And from this, the border between the two worlds becomes almost indistinguishable. Thick Bolivian clouds suddenly appear right under your feet. And the surrounding landscapes lose all connection with reality. That is why Salar de Uyuni is often called a place frozen between heaven and earth. After all, there are not enough words in any language of the world to convey the entire enchanting beauty this place.

In the absence of rain, the salt marsh turns into a huge desert covered with white salt instead of yellow sand. And in places where drying water still manages to break through a thin salt crust, small cone-shaped volcanoes are formed, similar to playing pieces, arranged in the correct order on a huge chessboard.

Another attraction of the salt marsh is the famous cemetery of steam locomotives, located in the vicinity of Uyuni. Once all the trains assembled here were part of a large project for the extraction of minerals and valuable minerals in the desert. For industrial work, a railway was laid from Chile to Bolivia. However, the economic value of the project turned out to be insignificant. And on railway and the trains following it began to be frequently attacked by Indian tribes. As a result, already in the fifties of the 20th century, the road was closed, and suddenly the trains that turned out to be unnecessary were left to rust in the middle of the desert.

It was only in 2006 that the Bolivian government suddenly remembered the old cemetery of steam locomotives again, deciding to turn it into a kind of open-air museum. Now such unusual travel the famous salt marsh and the old locomotives resting in its vicinity attract thousands of people to Bolivia. I wonder what the Bolivian Indians think about this?

10. Old Arbat

Old Arbat- a street sung in the songs of Soviet performers, films and books. The Old Arbat became completely pedestrian in the second half of the last century, which began to attract even more tourists here than before.

It is believed that if you have not been to the Old Arbat, you have not been to Moscow. And there is truth in these words. It is here that, tired of the bustle of the city, you can feel calm and relax your soul. The atmosphere of the Old Arbat, especially its lanes and small courtyards, is the atmosphere of old Moscow with its unsurpassed color and songs of Bulat Okudzhava.

By ancient buildings built on both sides of the Arbat, you can truly study the history of Moscow. For example, house number 4, located right behind the Prague restaurant, used to belong to the relatives of Pushkin's muse - Natalia Goncharova, and almost opposite the Gogol monument is the famous Mosselprom House. By the way, in house number 53 there is a museum-apartment of A.S. Pushkin. It was here that the newlyweds Natalya Goncharova and Alexander Pushkin settled. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the poet, a monument was erected next to this house to that couple who showed us the great power of love.

The wall of memory of the leader of the Kino group, Viktor Tsoi, became a place of pilgrimage for informals.

If you are looking for interesting museums, you can be sure that the Arbat will not disappoint you. Museum of Torture Museum of Illusions, Upside Down House, Perfume Museum and other unusual museums are waiting for you!

11. TsPKiO im. Gorky

We have always associated Gorky Park with noisy entertainment, various attractions and bright tents with cotton candy and other treats. Until recently, this was the case, but then the Park was completely reconstructed.

Now it has become an island of calm in the midst of a noisy capital. Here you can still go rollerblading or cycling in summer, and ice skating in winter. But at the same time, there are practically no attractions left here, and the creators of the new space placed the main emphasis on cultural recreation.

Gorky Park covers a vast territory, including Neskuchny Garden and Muzeon Park. The Green School is located in the enclosures of the central part of the Neskuchny Garden. Here you can interact with animals and even feed some of them. Fluffy squirrels, turtles, pheasants, rabbits, swans and other animals are always welcome!

Those who are fond of astronomy will be interested in visiting the Observatory, where in the warm season everyone can feel like an astronomer and admire the stars.

The park also has a sports center, a greenhouse, a summer cinema, a lecture hall where lectures are held that reveal to the audience the secrets of the history of Moscow, the secrets of art and tell about amazing travels. For those who like to sit in the shade in the summer heat, recreation areas near the water have been built. Particularly attractive is the Olive Beach, where you can lie on wooden boards right on the promenade at the water's edge.

Of course, now little is left of the former Soviet GUM, but, nevertheless, it is still a real example of the largest shopping center in pre-revolutionary Russia, and then the Soviet Union.

And the historical toilet in the basement combines 2 functions - a purely utilitarian function and a function historical monument. No wonder visiting it costs 100 rubles. from a person!

There are also catering establishments in GUM, the design and menu of which are made in the Soviet style: for example, Canteen No. 57 or the Festival Cafe. And in winter, next to GUM, they flood the GUM Skating Rink and open the GUM Fair right on Red Square next to the GUM building.

Of course, the bulk of the stores located in GUM are stores of modern foreign brands of the luxury segment: Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Breguet, Bulgary, Dior, Hermes and others. But there are also stores with goods for the middle class: Estelle Adoni, DKNY, Rendes-Vous, Golden Dragonfly and, of course, Bosco brand clothing and accessories.
